This is a great brush. I have long and thick hair that is always tangled. I spend a good 15 minutes after showering getting tangles out and still have to brush it several times a day to keep tangles at bay. As exhausting as that may sound, I do love my long hair and will do whatever I have to do to keep it long and looking good. I find that the best way to attack my tangles is to use 2 different brushes. After showering, I will use or any good leave in spray as well as on my ends and then start brushing with brush #1 until I find that I’m not making as much progress with it. Then, I simply switch to brush #2 and the remaining tangles usually brush through pretty easily. Doesn’t really matter which specific brushes I use, as long as it’s 2 different kinds. I find that my works best as my brush #2. If you struggle with detangling, definitely give this brush and method a shot!alex.a
The Tangle Teezer for thick and curly hair is okay. For the price, the brush is really light in weight and cheap feeling. Also, it is made for right handed people and not left, which I feel a little bit left out on. My hair is super thick and course with some waves and curls, and I normally use a denman brush. When brushing, I did see there were only 4 strands of my hair left in the brush, which tells me it’s probably pretty gentle, and I did see some benefits from the long bristles that were actually able to reach my scalp unlike some other brushes. I would not recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have thick hair, not even if you have medium and curly. The bristles would just be way too long for thin to normal hair thickness and cause pain on the scalp. I have tried this brush before the shower the detangle and still didn’t have many tangles when wasting my hair. Only time will be able to tell if this will cause damage to my hair. Other than that I would recommend it to thick hair if you have an extra $12-$14, if not just go grab a $8 denman brush.alyssa.s

For years, I was using Sauve Unscented, but it seems it was scented and my allergies and asthma hated that and I noticed my scalp was very itchy…. I tried a few other hairsprays and got the same perfume scent and itchiness. Took a chance on this hairspray. Most scent I get is a light alcohol smell that goes away instantly and does work as good as the others. Only thing I have to do is run hot water on the spray hole so it doesn't clog up.. which it did a couple times. But all in all, I will purchase this again.
Product works well. Hair is smooth, tangle free, and has added much needed moisture to my hair. YOUR BOTTLING STINKS. Price is already expensive. You should rethink how you got this thing package. The nozzles do not work and other people have also complained not just me. If you buy this product get your own spray bottle. Or unscrew the top and just trying to not drop all of the liquid through your fingers and use it directly onto your hair. The product will also make you cough. There is a strange smell that will make you gag if you accidentally breathe as your spray the product on your hair. My advice get your own bottle to spray on the products. Hold your breath when spraying the product. Then dry hair and style your hair … enjoy
It is very hard to find unscented products that work nicely on hair — especially if you HAVE to use them. My dermatologist had me switch to all unscented products due to skin rashes, eczema, etc, and I find it has helped to use these and Vanicream products. The styling gel is very nice, and works nearly as well as the high end (scented) product I used to get from my hair salon … I wish they made an unscented hair oil to tame flyaways.

Absolutely love this detangler. I got a sample size from Integrity Botanicals and had to purchase the full size. It does not weigh down my thin hair and plays nice with other products which is huge bc I need to use volume spray and end treatment. I personally have very wavy almost frizzy hair that I have also chemically damaged so I am always on the hunt for something to tame my curls. I received this in a beauty subscription box so this was a sample size but based on that I do have to say I did not see any really improvement in the hydration of my hair. Mizani 25 Miracle Milk can be used on wet or dry hair. I like to use it right out of the shower as a regular leave in conditioner or in the mornings to refresh my hair. I love that Miracle Milk has multiple different hair benefits. I have a fine hair but a lot of it which means it easily tangles up and it is a pain trying to get it back in order. This brush has literally been life changing. I never thought I would find a brush that works for me and prior to this one, I have gone through MANY others and they've all ended up in trash. This Shine enhancer brush has been the only one I've been using for the last 7+ years and I believe I have 4 of them now. Not because they fall apart (I still have my original one!) but because I use one when my hair is clean, one with my dry shampoo, one for travel, one at my beach house…you get it. Excellent daily leave-in for my kids, who need to fully wet their hair to style. My ONLY reason for docking a star is that with both containers we’ve had, when we get to the bottom 1/4 of the bottle, the spritz stops working and we have to take off the top and just pour into our hands, which isn’t how this product is meant to be applied, as it can cause gross product build ups. Probably the biggest reason I have to rank this product as a 1-star…the spray nozzle doesn't work for the weight of the formula. The sprayer works great for 1-2 spritzes. If you need more than 2 sprays, the pump will stop working and the products clumps up around the spray nozzle. In other words, it's a waste of money because you cannot get the product out. This is not a product friendly for kids either. The scent is pretty heavy/earthy- my kids do not like the scent. I purchased this at the recommendation of a stylist to hydrate my dry, chemically treated, naturally curly hair. It has a pleasant scent and heavy consistency. I found it seemed to coat my hair more than absorb into it. My hair did not seem more hydrated with use. However, it did look more shiny and feel thicker. This product offered heat protection from the flat iron but was too heavy on the hair to allow it to hold curl from a curling iron. I did have to use a clarifying shampoo to remove the residual product residue it seemed to leave after several uses as well. I think this would work well as a heavy leave in on natural hair or as an overnight hair mask. It does not work well for straightening and can make hair look greasy when used in even moderate amounts. I will not be purchasing this again but do recommend it for others with more coarse or thick hair textures who prefer wearing natural styles.leigh.l

I have used this product since I was 16 years old. I have fine and easily knotted hair. I am now much, much older. Your first container was slender and round, it had a woman and child on it. Your second container was white and had ridges on the upper portion of the bottle. That was fine. This current bottle is made for a a huge man hand and is hard for a smaller hand to put around it. Please change the container unless you think only big, burly men are the only ones using this product. If this was user-friendly, I think more would use the product. My son has longer, shaggy hair just like his father and this stuff is great for preventing tangles and helping his hair stay smooth, silky, and shiny. AND THE SMELL! I will say the plastic top on the bottle can break easily which essentially renders the whole entire bottle unusable (unless you’ve got another spray bottle on hand to pour it in) and that can be annoying if you accidentally drop it – but it’s not Johnson’s fault that I’m clumsy! This was the first conditioner I've ever used on my boys – ages 4 and 19 months. The 4 year old has thick, coarse, wavy hair and I think this really helps it to be more manageable – when I use it (along with the shampoo), we have an easier time getting his hair to relax (i.e. not stick up in every direction), the next morning when getting ready for preschool. My 19 month old has much finer hair, and so I do use this conditioner on him, but not every time I wash his hair. I use it about once a week and it keeps his hair soft and his curls smooth. I have to say that I LOVE this product, but I don't use it for what its original intention was. I find that as a curl refreshing spray it was way too heavy and left my hair with an unpleasant coating which I assume is due to the different oils in it. The ingredients list is amazing, though, and reminiscent of a homemade mask I used to put on my hair before wash days. I made that transition and now spray my hair thoroughly the morning of wash day and let it sit for about an hour. Rinsing it off with shampoo helps get rid of that greasiness, but my hair still absorbs all the nutrients and feels so healthy and soft afterwards. I've also noticed that it's gotten easier to detangle since I started doing this. All and all, I think this is a great product, but would emphasize that, at least for my hair, it didn't quite work for it's intended purpose.Frannie

I really wanted to be supportive and like this product, especially since I’ve seen all the “influences” raving about it. But it just did not work for my naturally curly hair. It instantly dried my hair, the texture of it was just awful. Difficult to explain, but the moment I sprayed it on I noticed a weird texture to my hair that I was not ok with. I thought once I followed up with the cream, my hair would feel better, but nope it only added to it. I have healthy curls, never dyed hair, so none of those are factors on why this product did not work for my curls. The scent of the product is great, the curls after they air dried and settled were ok, but did not get that instant WOW effect like EVERYONE appears to be having. I couldn’t get over how it instantly dried out my hair with that awful texture. I did try application over the course of a week, and my view still stands, it never got better, every application the texture felt the same. This product is missing hydration to the formula, which is important for curly hair. If the formula is ever updated, I’ll give it another try. The packaging also needs improvements, I too received a broken spray bottle. I’ll stick to my other curl specific line of products that I also purchase from target for now that fall within the same price point. But, by all means, try it out and see is it works for you!Banana

The directions say to use on damp hair but I tried with both damp and dry and it worked just as well both ways. I also paired it with the Mane Character Vibes Hydrating Hair Mask and it left my hair so incredibly soft. I would say the only down side (for me personally) was that I wasn't in love with the scent. I really couldn't figure out why I didn't like it because it wasn't necessarily bad but it wasn't my favorite scent. I still really liked it overall though.Ashleigh
Hair type: oily I've been having one of the best hair days I've had in a while! I used both of these products together, so I will post both of the reviews together. I was provided a free smile by Florence by Mills to write an honest review. (Received product on Sept 30) The Mane Character Vibes hair mask is great. I only used it in the bottom half of by hair for 5 mins, avoiding roots/scalp area since I have an oilier hair type. It smelled amazing, like a juicy watermelon scent. It reminded me of a product very similar to something they use at the salon where I get my hair done, and I think this product is more cost effective than buying the one from my salon. I think it really did hydrate and smooth my hair, usually when I wake up my hair is frizzy even with a satin pillowcase, but not today. My only suggestion is to use a little more than I did, I used a glob the size of how much moisturizer I put on my face. Seeing as my hair is long but not super long, I could probably do a little more next time. I give it a 9/10, still seems a little expensive to me. But it would be a great splurge, and at 5 ounces, will last you a while! I used also used this in conjunction with the No Drama detangling spray. As for the No Drama detangling spray, I think it worked well. I loved its floral rosy scent. To apply, I flipped my head over to avoid spraying my scalp and did maybe 5 sprays. It has a nice mist to it. Then I sort of scrunched it in, flipped my head back up, and used a wide toothed comb I had (similar to the one Florence came out with) to brush it through. I had no major tangling problems, and brushing took less time than it normally does with my wet brush. While being a detangler, this product also conditions and protects your hair. It reminds me of a hair elixir my local salon sells that does the same things, and the prices are about the same. I rate this 8/10, hard to tell if it helped with detangling since I usually use a brush, but I liked the scent and other benefits. A good splurge product.Emily T
Really loving this detangling spray!! It says to spray on hair and comb through, but I sprayed into my hands, ran them through my hair and then combed. Worked great!! The ends of my hair really feel extra-soft, and my hair is shinier. I like the smell of the product, too. Very fresh and feminine! My sample isn't gone yet, as a little goes a long way, but I've already placed an order for the full-sized bottle. Very excited to have this in my haircare collection!! I thought I'd never spend $$ for a hairbrush, but I had points. This brush is fabulous. Both I and my daughter have very straight fine hair that tangles. This brush glides through without being too harsh. It's the only wet brush we've gotten that actually works for us. The bristles are soft, but stiff enough that it works. I purchased this brush a few years ago and was absolutely in love with it, it worked really well and felt great on my hair. It got a bit icky over the years despite cleaning it regularly (as most hairbrushes do) so I decided to purchase it again. I've had my new one for five months and it's terrible. Most of the heads on the bristles have come off completely and it hurt really bad to use it. It became so unusable I ended up throwing it away. I don't know if they changed how they manufactured the brush but I would 100% not recommend it to anyone.Kelsey

I received a deluxe sized sample of the Oribe Run Through Detangling Primer. It has been sitting on my dressing table for a while and I decided to go ahead and try it. I usually avoid styling products as my hair is very fine. I'm so pleased that I tried it!! It is the most gorgeous product. Being fine, my hair tangles quite badly and this little miracle sorted it nicely. It leaves lovely and soft too and doesn't add any heaviness at all.tyna_s
I bought this product because, unlike their competitor (whose products I also use), this is a detangler *and* primer in one. The competition sells the detangler and primer as too separate products, which is far too confusing. This product definitely doesn’t disappoint! Hair products don’t and shouldn’t need to be so confusing! Especially because these products are so expensive! I will pay for products that work, as my hair type demands extremely high quality products (wavy curly stressed out hair that has thinned significantly since I became a mom 12 years ago). I’m also super impressed with the Oribe Cleansing Cream. It’s the cowash I’ve been looking for since I started cowashing. I’m so thrilled that Sephora sells these products. I was interested in this because there are a few other Oribe products I love (Gold lust hair oil, dry texturizing spray) so I thought I'd give this a try. Does it look great on your counter-yes, do most other detanglers for half the price work better-yes! I'd also like to mention I think your hair type and level of detangling on the regular needed plays an important factor. I have hair with multiple textures, curly on the crown, wavy on the sides and a few random straighter pieces and the base. My hair is dry and gets easily tangled after washing/sleeping/existing… This does nothing to detangle. I will say if I do detangle with a wetbrush and spray after, that my hair feels ok. But then what is the point of this product? I sprayed a lot, it did not work. Bad investment. Keep looking…elle100percent

My absolute favorite detangler. It smells nice, doesn't make my hair greasy at all, and detangles quickly. I wish they sold a jumbo size of this product I love it so much. A really great product. I apply this on damp hair before going in with styling products and my Tangle Teezer brush. I have low density – low porosity 2C curly hair. This product is super hydrating yet lightweight which caters perfectly to my hair needs. While it's not the cheapest option out there, the bottle is a good investment that retains longevity. I am retired and let my hair grow out to it's "wisdom gray" color – Ha! I recently found my AG Conditioning Mist since we just moved, and am very I happy! It makes my hair silky soft and even adds some body to my thin hair. My hair had been quite dry for some time and I was amazed at how just a few sprays of this made my hair behave and look much nicer. I will always have this product on hand – I highly recommend it! And the smell is nice – much appreciated since I have a lot of trouble with product smells. My only suggestion is change the "on-off" spray button mechanism – it's a bit awkward to work with.ShopperGal
