It may work for some people but did not completely for me. I used this with the other methods including coloring my hair. Did the treatment for two weeks straight and I still failed a hair follicle test. I give three stars because I know it does work for some people. I have long, thick dark hair so that takes effect in how much of the product should be used. I'm not upset by it not working completely because it did lower my levels as it says it will. Zydot didn’t work at all for me ..stopped smoking a month before hair test. Used tide ,antibacterial dish washing soap, T-sal shampoo, detox shampoo and Heinz vinegar for 3 days straight and kept each in my hair for 30 minutes. Washed my hair at least 15 times in those 3 days. Used T sal and detox shampoo the day of hair test then used the Zydot ultra clean and failed. Hair had been cut way before cleaning and after had already stopped smoking..wouldn’t recommendDeitrich Viands

I’ll admit, I was skeptical. I had their fine hair shampoo/conditioner and was thrilled how well they work. I use probably 2-4 products a day because I have a wolf cut. I dry shampoo on the 2nd day and 3rd, and ideally shower the 3rd night or 4th day. I’ve been getting by just fine double shampooing, but I felt I needed something a liiiittle heavier duty. I always see people rave about this and for 30$, I was certainly giving it the side eye. Not anymore! I am a believer in this fry shampoo. I have previously religiously bleached hair, so my mid-shaft and ends can be very sensitive to harsher cleansers. I haven’t had any issues with this product at all so far. I have an incredibly oily scalp that even with my own oils and serums, still loves to produce its own factory of oil. If you have dryer hair but still want to detox, try pre-oiling your hair and scalp a bit before a shower, I think that could help A TON! I love how this removes all of the oils and gunk without making your hair feel like legit STRAW like some detox shampoos can. Reviewers complaining that it left them MORE oily forget that *THIS IS NOT FOR DAILY USE*. It literally says that. If you’re using a detox shampoo for daily use, why? Your poor hair. Anyway, I love this. I lather before I put on and really scrub with my nails and follow up with a shampoo massager to get all the grime and oil from my scalp. I leave it on for about a minute, then I rinse. Voila, perfectly soft and fluffy hair! Following with Ouai’s fine hair conditioner and my hair is bouncy and soft. Fine hair girls know the struggle of getting any sort of bouncy volume AND softness… and this really does help. I use this right now every Sunday. I love it for getting product out of my hair on days I may have used 5 products instead of my normal 4 and I HAVE to use it after 3 days. I started noticing problems in my hair at the start of 2020. I've always had thin hair but started experiencing hair loss in mid-2020 (I've never had covid). On top of this I have greasy hair – I'm talking my hair gets greasy every single day and I've tried training it to not be, but I've had greasy hair since the beginning of time so ruling this as genetics! It air-dries nicely (straight) and doesn't have any frizz in it afterwards. My hair feels healthy and looks fuller. I use this shampoo once a week for a deep clean, it keeps my hair oil-free for a bit longer but the biggest difference is that it doesn't get as greasy as it used to with my everyday shampoo. Super bummed that this didn't work out as well for me as I though it would. For reference my hair texture is medium and straight (that good good thick asian girl hair) and I typically go 4-5 days between washes (trained my scalp decently enough to control oil because she gets *oily* ok). Not sure if I just used this wrong the first time (too much?? shouldn't have shampooed twice since I normally do that w my normal shampoo?? even tho I used less than a quarter sized amount??) but after the first use it completely stripped my scalp and make it super flaky and itchy (truly shocking given that my scalp is on the oilier side) and by the second day, my scalp was super greasy and dirty (not even dry shampoo could fix her). So bummed! Esp. since I don't really need to wash my hair/get greasy until day 4 or 5. Ever since then I haven't used it (went back to my main shampoo) but it seems like the effects still last aka my scalp/hair still gets greasy way earlier than it used to even though I've discontinued use, and I feel like i have to re-train my scalp to get to day 5 again. I'll give it another shot and use way less and only shampoo once, then maybe balance it out w my usual shampoo but for the time being this really wasn't for me. I've been using Fekkai since 2009/2010 (my Korean mom was very into hair care and encouraged me to use the best products). Now I'm in my early 30's. I've tried many other hair care brands over the years, but in my opinion, Fekkai is probably one of the best. I used to use the old Apple Cider shampoo back in the day and was very sad when it was discontinued. But when they brought it back, I was so happy! I've tried so many different products for my scalp. I thought I had dandruff so I was trying so many different products. I tried JVN after seeing a tik tok and it didn't help me get rid of the flakes. I tried an Aveda shampoo and it didn't help with anything. THIS shampoo helped with the buildup of not washing your hair for a few days, and I also saw the least amount of flakes I've had in my hair for years. Youre probably wondering, why that title? Well guys Im about to be SIMPING for the goddess we know named Brad Mondo. It all started with me watching his hair dresser reacts videos and he always tempted me with his XMONDO hair care products, well one day I was feeling like spending some moneyyyy, and I was watching one of his videos on YouTube and sure enough he showed some of his products for a giveaway and sure enough it got me this time. I went straight to his website and went straight to his shampoo and conditioner (my favvvv product to buy), I saw Detox Shampoo and my heart instantly skipped a beat, I have been looking for a shampoo like this and a weightless conditioner (which he also has tee hee hee), I feel as if any product I use on my hair is always so heavy on my hair and always feels as if I never even shampooed my hair. I have very fine hair but I have a lot of hair and I also never touch it with heat, always air dried, and for some reason anything I used made my hair sooo stringy, it got to the point where I wasnt even using conditioner because my thoughts were that I cant use anymore oils or conditioning products on my hair because theyre too heavy or nourishing for my hair….that still did not work. As someone who is a first time user of this brand, I had the website up for awhile waiting to purchase this when I could afford to, for the price I honestly think the size of the shampoo and conditioner could be bigger. Though I think the smell is nice, unfortunately I was not "wowed" by the shampoo and conditioner. I know Brad is a very talented hairstylist, and I was hoping that his line would do wonders on my damaged hair. I have damage from maintaining ash blonde hair at home and I was hoping that this would be a miracle product. Although I admit that it is nice, it did not do what I expected it to do. I potentially could have not used the right product from his line so that could be the issue. Disappointed after the hype, spent a lot of money to get this shipped to the UK. I got the hydra glow shampoo and project x conditioner, over priced for the size they are. Wouldn't mind paying this price but feel the product doesn't reflect it. It leaves my hair looking dull and quite dry, I don't see any of the benefits it claims to give. It also smells like cheaper products and you have to use a lot more than a normal salon professional product should to actually clean your hair. I have hypothyroidism and low hormonal levels for which I take meds & under-the-skin pellets (I’m female btw). I experienced hair fall thought to be due to testosterone levels increasing and was prescribed spironolactone and later, compounded 7% minoxidil. Spironolactone helped control my suddenly crazy oily skin and breakouts but I was still experiencing a ton of hair fall to the point️ that my hair was noticeably thinner and was prescribed this high dose of minoxidil twice daily. A side effect, which is rare apparently, was that it changed my normally shiny fine slightly wavy hair (which I had a lot of off) into a dry straw-like frizzy mess with crazy unmanageable waves. Stubborn waves that curled upwards and across the back of my head. I ended up cutting my mid to long length hair into a bob, added layers to help cut off the damage and make it more manageable and cuts every 3 weeks. I can’t do keratin treatments because I had one in the past and had an allergic reaction. I did the K18 mask and it made my hair noticeably softer, but my hair still looked frizzy and was still unmanageable. But once I started using this shampoo along with the mask, I finally saw some real results. I still have some frizz on the ends but the crazy wave is more relaxed and manageable, my hair is shiny again, and feels so soft. Wanted to love this shampoo because of all the hype around it. I have long thin hair with blonde highlights. I wash my hair every 5 days. I am 39 years old and have always had my hair long, around mid-back length. My hair has always been super healthy, I do not use heat on my hair and visit the salon regularly. This shampoo has made my hair shed significantly, even during the first wash. It would abnormally shed even during washes, clumps of hair would stay in my fingers, and my hair got dirty after 2-3 days. My hair became so dry, dull and would tangle at nothing. My hairdresser notice that something was off with my hair at my last appointment, and I had only used it once. I kept on using it thinking my hair would get used to it and that the shedding could be due to seasonal shedding (even though I had never experienced that before). After a few weeks, my hair kept shedding so much. I switched back to my usual shampoo (Redken) and my hair was instantly back to its normal, healthy and shiny state after the first wash. The Peptide Prep pH Maintenance shampoo is a great pair it the K18 repair mask. I also have the detox shampoo, but I feel like you could get away with just once of them. Although, there are some differences I spotted below: -The charcoal detox mask to me had a bit of a stronger scent, one that I enjoyed but if you don’t, you may enjoy this one more. The detox shampoo is also black-gray in color, this one is clear. -I found that both of them lathered very nicely, and made my hair and scalp feel so soft. I didn’t feel a drastic difference between the two. -The main difference I think between the two is that the detox is your deep-clean, and the peptide ph is like your everyday maintenance. The textures and way they left my hair to me were very similar. I was already a huge fan of the K18 hair repair mask, and I would recommend to a friend and to anyone who loves soft hair. I came across this shampoo at a Tj Maxx and once I read the back I knew I had to take it home with me. It seemed very promising as far as detoxing the hair from product buildup. The lather is great and the smell is as well BUT even though I used conditioner afterwards my hair was stiff and hard as a board. It not only removed the product buildup but it completely stripped my hair color. I was shocked when I looked in the mirror only to see that I no longer had any dye and my grey hair made it seem as if I hadn’t dyed my hair in months. I gave it three stars because it did remove buildup but removed color as well which wasn’t stated in the description. Unless you want to strip your color I don’t recommend using it.madelene.a
I purchased the product to cut the buildup in my hair. I've tried other clarifying shampoos that work pretty good but this product goes above and beyond. My hair is bouncy again and surprisingly my color is MORE vibrant after using it. I use Redken "blondage" shampoo a couple times per week to keep my blonde hair from getting brassy and it works fantastic! I think bouncing between shampoos really "mucks up" my hair. Not for every day in my opinion. This is a cream but still pretty harsh, especially for dry, fine hair such as mine. I use this every few months to get any residue out from left-over product. Any more than that would really strip my hair too much. But keep in mind that I have really dry hair. If your hair is oily, this might be just the thing. I honestly use the shampoo and conditioner everyday. I bought a leave in conditioner- that also doesn’t have any silicones- and it’s all amazing. Great packaging and I would definitely recommend. It can make your hair feel a little dry so you do need to use a good deep conditioner afterwards! I've been struggling to find a gentle shampoo that actually cleans my hair and then I found this! It may be clarifying if you have dry hair that doesn't need daily washing, but my fine oily hair needs this daily. This has a great amount of protein for me and the coconut oil helps prevent protein loss from daily washing. Using the matching conditioner is too much protein for me daily so I alternate it with a protein free conditioner. First off just a background on my hair type I am biracial (black and hispanic) with THICK but fine 3B/3C curly hair. For years I've been using the Tresemme coconut botanique conditioner but they recently changed their bottle and formula so it doesn't work for my hair as well anymore and I have been searching for a new conditioner. Before applying the conditioner in my hair I noticed that this conditioner was way more liquidy than the old conditioner formula I used, so I felt a bit iffy about using it. Even once I applied it I was like "wow it's so watery" but then when I really started applying it and detangling my hair with it (I finger comb), my hair felt so moisturized and soft. I left it in my hair for a few minutes and kept a little bit in my hair after I rinsed it. When I got out the shower my hair felt so nice. I was honestly shocked at how much I liked this conditioner, considering my past conditioner was a bit more thicker than this but don't let the more watery consistency fool you. I found these on clearance at my local [brand:giant-eagle] grocery store. I bought every single one off the shelf! I have never tried this before but when I saw the sale I knew I had to stock up. I really like this sent and I like that it does last a little bit but not all day. I love that it sprays so nicely and so far it hasn’t clogged at all. It has this very fine mist of powder which coats the parts of your hair that need dry shampoo the most very well. I’ve use this a few times and it doesn’t seem like I’ve hardly made a dent in it already. Usually when I use dry shampoos I empty them after like three uses. I do have an oily scalp and I do not wash my hair every day because if I did my hair would break off. This doesn’t smell like straight up coconut but you can tell that it is kind of tropical like. Anyways, I have nothing bad to say about this product or this brand so far and I’m really enjoying it. If I ever see them again I will probably buy them out, especially if they’re on sale! shelby.j

I'm convinced this scrub is the best thing Noughty has produced. I used their entire curly hair range a few years ago but ultimately switched back to a different brand as I was struggling with scalp buildup and itchiness. However when I saw that Noughty had released this exfoliating scalp scrub, I knew I had to give it a go. The smell is really nice, very clean and herbal, and whilst it definitely does exfoliate, it does not feel abrasive or harsh on the scalp. I've been using it in combination with Noughty's volume boosting range as my scalp is naturally quite oily and does not like heavy products. I'm happy to say that this scrub has left my scalp looking and feeling so much healthier and essentially flake free, it's honestly amazing. I had really bad product build up from a shampoo I used a few months ago. I tried absolutely everything to get rid of this, including incredibly strong clarifying shampoos with sulphates etc, and NOTHING was working. My hair was waxy and greasy all over and it was in terrible condition. I have used Noughty products before, including this one, but I assumed that this would be too gentle to reverse the severe amount of damage done to my hair. However, after trying literally every other route, I was at the end of my tether and thought why not give this a go? With not much hope I bought a bottle, and oh my goodness. After one wash, the build up was reduced significantly, and my hair looked less like someone had rubbed candle wax in it. I almost cried tears of joy. I have very fine, oily hair and have been trying product after product and brand after brand, in search of something that works for me. After some research, I found that I had been using all the wrong products for my hair type, which were only weighing it down and encouraging an oily scalp the day after washing my hair. I’ll admit, I was skeptical. I had their fine hair shampoo/conditioner and was thrilled how well they work. I use probably 2-4 products a day because I have a wolf cut. I dry shampoo on the 2nd day and 3rd, and ideally shower the 3rd night or 4th day. I’ve been getting by just fine double shampooing, but I felt I needed something a liiiittle heavier duty. Super bummed that this didn't work out as well for me as I though it would. For reference my hair texture is medium and straight (that good good thick asian girl hair) and I typically go 4-5 days between washes (trained my scalp decently enough to control oil because she gets *oily* ok). Not sure if I just used this wrong the first time (too much?? shouldn't have shampooed twice since I normally do that w my normal shampoo?? even tho I used less than a quarter sized amount??) but after the first use it completely stripped my scalp and make it super flaky and itchy (truly shocking given that my scalp is on the oilier side) and by the second day, my scalp was super greasy and dirty (not even dry shampoo could fix her). So bummed! Esp. since I don't really need to wash my hair/get greasy until day 4 or 5. Ever since then I haven't used it (went back to my main shampoo) but it seems like the effects still last aka my scalp/hair still gets greasy way earlier than it used to even though I've discontinued use, and I feel like i have to re-train my scalp to get to day 5 again. I'll give it another shot and use way less and only shampoo once, then maybe balance it out w my usual shampoo but for the time being this really wasn't for me. Overall some good pros were that it smells amazing and after using it (despite my scalp being ruined), I noticed all my other products penetrated my hair way better/worked better since I live in Chicago and the hard water, dry shampoo, and product build up is real.hellokimber

This product is worth the $$. Despite no sulphates, it still lathers. Unlike other safe for color shampoos, my hair still feels clean at 4:00 in the afternoon. My previous color-safe shampoos must have been leaving a little residue because my crown always felt dirty by late afternoon. This is a clarifying shampoo that gets rid of the product you put in your hair to style, but doesn't strip the color. Love love love anything Aveda. This is the brand my hair dresser uses oh my hair and I love every one of their products. Honestly, what first attracted me to this product was the smell. It smells amazing. The smell stays in my hair all day long, I get so many compliments. But more about the product.. this detoxifier is amazing. I don't treat my hair the best. I'm an avid flat iron/curling wander lol. So this product corrects all my wrong doings and makes my hair feel as good as new. It leaves it feelings stronger, shinier, and just overall healthier. I was looking for a clean but gentle clarifying shampoo to add to my regular hair care routine. My goal was to get rid of product build up and to overall just refresh my scalp. This product met my expectations; however, I did have to use more shampoo than I normally do. Do not expect this to function like a regular clarifying shampoo that contains sulfates and produces a lot of lather with minimal product required. I had to use a healthy amount of product, massaged it into my scalp for 1-2 minutes, rinsed and repeated. My hair and scalp came out clean and refreshed, but my hair didn't feel as though it had been stripped. Just don't forget to condition too!Shenanigans13

Until recently my absolute favorite shampoo for very fine hair, excellent in combination with the conditioner. Unfortunately, it seems that the formula was changed here a few months ago. The label looks a little different and the product no longer feels the same when used. It now takes two to three times as much shampoo to cleanse the hair, it's hard to distribute and doesn't foam at all. I have a naturally oily scalp with dry ends, and straight, fine hair that lacks volume and is prone to tangling. It’s also colour treated. As you can imagine, it takes a helluva product to address all those factors. Seeking a true hair transformation, I decided to give @grownalchemist a try, because I love that it’s an Australian (like me!) brand that uses no artificial or harmful ingredients. 🌱 I chose the shampoo (damask rose, black pepper, and sage) and the Colour Protect conditioner 0.3 (aspartic amino acid, hydrolyzed quinoa protein, and ootanga). Each 500ml bottle retails for $49 at grownalchemist.com (shipping was free within the USA). It took me a couple of washes to perfect my use of the products. Because I’ve typically used very cosmetic products on my hair, I was confused by the minimal lather of the shampoo. I also didn’t anticipate how truly moisturising the conditioner would be, and used too much – so my hair felt a little greasy (also likely due to transitioning to a natural product, and the fact that these products don’t entirely strip your hair of its oils and leave it squeaky clean like inferior products do – an addictive sensation, albeit misguided). However, since I figured out my perfect usage, which is a slight variation on the directions, I’ve been madly in love with them. My hair is looking and feeling fantastic, with the scalp oils really coming into balance and the mid-lengths and ends starting to benefit from all the hydration (and sun protection!) My personal routine now (every other day) is two pumps of shampoo as directed, then conditioning for 1-2 minutes as directed (I use two pumps); then I freestyle and go in again with a quick mid-length wash using just half a pump of the shampoo to clear out any excess conditioner I may have missed with my rinse. The products smell incredible, and the potency of the conditioner means I don’t have to stand around waiting too long for it to do its thing. Experiencing the exact opposite of what other reviewers stated. There is hardly any lather at all, and yes I'm used to sulfate-free shampoos so I know what to expect. This product takes me three washings to get my medium length hair sort of clean. I don't use any heavy styling products so that's not something I'm used to. Paired with the volumising conditioner (another dud) my hair comes out flat and dull and feels unclean. This product basically does the exact opposite of what it's marketed to do. The one positive is the smell is fantastic! Haven't had a good Grown Alchemist experience yet though and this is their fourth product I've tried.Andrew F.

Shampoo maravilhoso que cumpre o que promete! Tenho cabelo 2bc extra-seco e não ressecou em nada. Comprei pq onde moro tem muito cloro na água e meu cabelo estava ficando cada dia mais áspero, duro e não respondia a nada, inclusive produtos importados profissionais LOreal, Kerastase, Joico. Tendei de tudo inclusive acidificação. Fiquei desconfiada do excesso de cloro na água (moro nesta cidade a 2 anos apenas) então resolvi testar o TRUSS Vegan e tive um maravilhoso resultado. Nas primeiras lavagens usava apenas ele 2X, más agora sigo usando ele só na primeira lavagem e na segunda uso um shampoo de tratamento. Ele parece que derrete o cabelo, eu nunca senti isso em shampoos. Olha eu nunca usei a Metal Detox, más acho pouco provável ser ainda melhor do que esse e lembrando que estamos falando de um produto Nacional e Vegano. Comprem sem medo ele é maravilhoso e por um custo muito justo !Elaine
