I bought this box several years ago to organize hand sewing items. This box is just fantastic. I can remove and just use the color organizer tray or take all three sections with me. I can leave one section home and choose to carry just two sections. Love the clear sides so I can see what’s in each layer. BUYER BEWARE!! The Rubbermaid containers now shatter MUCH TOO EASILY from normal use! I recently bought several sets of 1.5 cup square containers (300 ml) and began to use them this week. I emptied about 3/4 cup of cooled off Campbell's chicken noodle soup leftover yesterday into one of these perfect sized containers and set it on a middle refrigerator shelf for storage and protection. This shelf temperature was about 40 degrees F (not freezing). But just minutes ago, I pulled another food item out of that same shelf and it accidentally caught the edge of the Rubbermaid container which plopped straight down to the floor, bottom side first. It landed perfectly upright. Distance traveled was 18". but, when I picked it up, there was a HUGE YELLOW PUDDLE OF CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP ALL OVER THE FLOOR and still dripping through my fingers!! I went to the kitchen sink (while dripping all across my entire kitchen floor) and raised it up and saw all the the noodles and small square meat chunks were still inside and THE ENTIRE LIQUID CONTENTS HAD COMPLETELY DRAINED OUT IN THE MATTER OF about 5 seconds!! There is a bout a 1.5 inch wide flap of plastic of that cheap styrene type plastic that had broken in the rough shape of a "U". This tells me that the Rubbermaid company has not adequately been TESTING THEIR PRODUCTS FOR TYPICAL EVERYDAY HOME USE!! I am taking all these containers back to the store today for a refund. Furthermore, I will be contacting the Rubbermaid factory for their answers and explanations. There are just too many companies CHEAPENING and altering the quality of their plastic products. They make the mil thickness twice as thin as they used to AND…..they are using cheaper grades of plastic and manufacturing methods. The bottom of the container says, "MADE IN THE USA". Really? I was very disappointed when the item was delivered. Yes, I should’ve looked at the pictures more before I ordered it. I assumed for the money and the size of this tool box it would’ve had a better overall design. The button to raise and lower the handle should be on the handle like it is on the other large Dewalt tool box I have. But this button is on the actual tool box and it forces the user to bend over awkwardly each time. As a matter of fact all tool boxes with wheels that I’ve had have the raise and lower button on the handle!!!Dissatisfied Rutchman
Useful as a base unit and trolley for the dewalt Tstak system. I only wish they'd put a professional on to designing it, rather than a rank amateur. The base of the extendable handle catches on the ground on anything other than a flat, level surface. The box itself is rather flexible, so that it is difficult for the included tote tray to locate properly when the lid is open as the box deforms. It would be useful to have some kind of internal compartment dividers (even as an optional extra) as the base unit is the obvious place for storing heavier hand tools to keep the centre of gravity low. It has proved very useful though if you forgive the above. I just think dewalt as a pro brand could have done better at this price point. At 70+ for what is a plastic box on wheels I expected better and the design to have been tested before production.tlgshack

I LOVE THESE!!! I live in CA and we keep getting evacuated due to fire(s) – I had my photos and important paperwork packed in larger tubs and in the rush of being evacuated, the boxes were way too heavy for me to schlep down the stairs and out into my car! I bought these and have my photos and important papers all organized into them and at the ready for the next evacuation. This gives me peace of mind knowing that I can grab them, two at a time, and get them out and packed neatly into my car really quickly! They are designed with a lip/hanging file track inside so my hanging file folders fit in there and can be slid back and forth – an excellent product for portable files! The lid fits very securely and even FILLED with photos and/or hanging files, this can be picked up using the handle on top of the lid and the lid stays on tight! They also stack on top of each other and are designed to stay stacked even with quite a bit of movement. They are solid too… when stacked on top of each other, the lid on the bottom ones does NOT cave in, unlike other tubs that have a flimsy lid… these lids (and containers too) are very sturdy and strong! I bought one of these a many years ago and the design and quality were great. My daughter borrowed it and wants to keep it, so I was looking for a new one. Other than the fact that it is now completely clear, which I like, this new version only gets 2 stars; because, as another reviewer said so well, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it. These are a step backwards. Consumers need stacking not nesting. Nesting is only useful for you the manufacturer when they're empty to make shipping cheaper and for the seller to make displaying them easier. Consumers want containers that stack easily and securely. The older version does that quite well and are more versatile. And this new style doesn't stack will the old style. It's a form of planned obsolescence. Consumers cannot use the older style with newer style, so they are somewhat forced into purchasing a hole new array. 5Stars from Sterlite.com LOL These are in no way, whatsoever, 30L storage containers. This is very obvious in a side by side comparison with the other 26L Sterilite rectangular container. You can't use 'overall' dimensions, as if this were a cubic 'box,' to multiply a storage capacity volume for these goofy-shaped bins. I can assure you, the smaller 1874 bin holds exactly 9L of liquid, while the 1876 medium bin (shown) holds 16L of liquid. And that's liquid, which stacks 'very neatly' I must say. And by the way: the lid is not watertight or airtight. Back in their day, these bins served a good purpose (I own quite a few), but there are better options available from Sterilite now. The Medium and Large Showoffs nest/stack very well on top of each other and their lids are interchangeable. The convoluted shape of Showoffs containers causes a lot of wasted space if you are planning on getting a bunch of them to stack and fill up your available cubic storage space. The hinges and handle are well designed and seem strong and robust. The handle design, however, is this bin's Achilles Heel; it ensures that Showoffs are NOT air, dust or moisture-proof. Any liquid spilled or dripping onto the top of the lid, will easily find its' way around the handle, into the container. These are perfect for sorting colored pencils by color family. Much cheaper and easier to use and they fit into your space better than those wooden pull out drawers. They hold more too. At the lower price they were at when I ordered them they are much cheaper than wooden art cases as well. My package of 6 arrived with no damage, though I should note that they do not put these into an over box, they ship in manufacturer packaging and it is very thin cardboard. If your shipper is rough with them, I am sure some could be broken so I count myself lucky that all 6 were pristine.
These are fantastic for my 12×12 scrapbook paper. I can easily store 3 large paper packs from the craft store without issue. They are easy to move around, stack or use by themselves. They are sturdy and it's easy enough to see the contents without them being completely see through. The only thing I don't like is, they yellow over time so my older set are a different color than the new pristine white of the new set. These drawer units are great! I've had two of them for several years now, and they have proven durable and useful with minimal wear and tear (if any, haha). I got this storage container on a whim because of the reviews and thought I would give it a shot. I am so happy I did because it really works!! The thing that I have trouble keeping fresh the most is strawberries. So I put some in this container and by golly they stayed fresh days longer then normal. This is huge for the amount of fruits and vegetables that go bad before I can use them and end up throwing them away. I’m literally in shock at how well it worked. There is a tray embedded in the bottom for air flow that keeps the food up so it can get airflow along with the vent in the lid. It has a FreshVent technology that will last the lifetime of the container the product. The airflow “regulates the flow of carbon dioxide and oxygen to help foods stay fresh”. It does just that! You can buy more in different sizes and make your fridge more organized and they stack so you can save room. It is high quality and durable. I will say I was a little upset when the containers arrived unwrapped in a cardboard box. There was no protective cellophane wrap on the individual containers or any type of sticker on the containers. There was no literature included about the product other than on the outside of the cardboard box it said wash before use. My first thought was are the containers new or were they returned. I should have paid more attention to the measurements, but if these are "medium," I can't imagine how small the "small" would be. Mine also were delivered looking really smudged. Not sure if they were a return or had some manufacturing defect. Unless I find a good use for them soon and the smudginess cleans off, I plan to return them. This is a good midsized option for things that might be difficult to store. It is solid and well made, and the latches are easy to open and close. These containers are perfect for my narrow utility closet. They allow enough space to pull the containers in and out without me having to remove both. I see people complaining that the measurements aren't right but I know they are pretty darn close because the older containers I had were about 14.5"L. Most containers are around 16/17" L and always don't fit. Love these containers and the size. Durability and the fact that they stack are awesome. I love everything about Rubbermaid brilliance containers. I've seen others say their experience wasn't so great, but I've always had the opposite. I own a set of the pantry containers and will be getting more since it keeps everything for fresh and airtight. The price is a bit high, but it pays off in the long run since it does a great job keeping food fresh. I find it better than my oxo set. (I received this complimentary product from @rubbermaid in exchange for my honest review.) Upon first opening my new Rubbermaid Brilliance containers, I couldn’t get over how HEAVY they were! I was instantly reminded of growing up with later inheriting my mom’s Pyrex dishes. I know from experience that these will outlast me just as the Pyrex did my mother. I even had my dad try baking in the deeper one to give a true comparison. To make a long story short, the brown sugar butter sweet potatoes turned out beautifully with the most perfectly toasted marshmallow topping ! I then cooled using the vented lid, stored in the fridge, and reheated the next day. I’m DEFINITELY a Rubbermaid baking fan now. It is important to remember that you can bake in the oven (up to 450= without the lid, but only REHEAT in the microwave (can use the lid). No BPA makes it safe for my entire family. I LOVE these!! I am a teacher and am constantly finding more ways to use these!! The price range is EXCELLENT and the size of the container fits perfectly in my storage cabinets. I use them for markers, crayons, craft supplies, eating utensils, index cards, glue sticks….really just about anything. Really miss the old ones target used to sell. These are honestly horrible. The lids don’t click on at all. But I already am disgusted paying $4/piece and can’t get myself to spend even more to get the really good latching ones. Disrespectful that the quality product that is sterilite was replaced with this weird shaped thing, and we are expected to pay twice as much? For this?. I bought a set. 2 have broken, after being oven-heated with leftover food. I did not take them straight from the refrigerator to the oven. Room temp. Then heated. After removing food, it sat and cooled, then I placed the container in sink with soapy water. 30 minutes later I heard a loud crack! The container had broken diagonally, completely in half. Also the lids are sometimes not easy to secure.Kristigo
I absolutely love these. They feel so lovely to handle and use – like most OXO products. I have had absolutely NO trouble with mold, but then I always hand wash the lids. I also never soak them in the dish water when handwashing – just wipe and lay out to dry completely before storing. If you do need to remove the seal to clean out food, then use a butter knife (gently) to prevent cutting or stretching the seal. I have only had to clean a seal once and that was because I overfilled my container and so pushed food up into the seal. ABOUT BEING HARD TO OPEN AND CLOSE:: I had this problem too at first, but then I realized that the lid was slightly off center. When it is aligned completely, closing the lids are no problem (I am in my sixties with arthritis and I have no trouble). For the rectangular ones, do the smaller ends first — this helps to make sure that the larger tabs are aligned. If you have trouble, take the lid off and try again. You will soon get used to the feel of the top when it is completely aligned. It is worth the trouble because the seal is REALLY good. I have two other kinds of glass products with lids (well known brands), but the seal is not nearly as good, so I only use my OXO set in the freezer. They are always in use in my cupboard, fridge or freezer. The rectangular ones are great for saving space in a freezer or a cupboard. I use the smallest ones for butter dishes and for natural peanut/almond butter in my cupboards because it is just the right amount for me to use up without the food going rancid (the rest stays in the fridge). I use the largest ones as casserole dishes and even for baking bread. The largest square one makes also makes an excellent bread box for about 2/3 of a gluten-free loaf (the rest stays in the fridge). Great for keeping food sanitary at the cottage where there are ants and sometimes mice. Buying a rectangular set and a circular set of these dishes was my retirement gift to myself. We did a lot of research and shopping around before deciding on this glass food storage set and we're very pleased with it so far. The containers are heavy, well made, and the lids snap on firmly and tightly. We really like how the rubber seal is removable (and is all one piece so no bacteria can be harbored on the underside or inside the ring) for easy cleaning. These are heavy duty containers; the lids don't go on with a "one finger" touch but that says quality to me! I don't plan on microwaving the lids or putting them through the dishwasher due to some other reviews we've seen that said that caused them to warp. We'll see how the hold up over time, but our first impression is good!LM17

I have tried Tupperware and Rubbermaid for the last 50 something years. oh these companies promise you the moon and stars to get you to buy them. However, they do not hold up even stating dishwasher or microwave safe! They are neither of these as being safe. The heat cycle of your dish washer will ruin the sealing top lids. it causes them to warp. And placing in microwave causes the bottom of these products to melt only where the food is touching. If you drop one of these while removing from a freezer the bottoms or tops will crack and even break if they hit the floor. God knows how much money I had invested into both of these products to only find out that they are not guaranteed for life life they say either. If you have had any piece for over 5 years you get a replacement however, it is not free. I traded in 3 items and had to pay the difference in what they had cost when I bought them to what they cost now. If I can prove I did nothing wrong in their use that caused them to not snap air tight anymore! I traded 8 pieces for one new piece. That is when I said enough and went searching for new brands. I decided last year that in order to keep some foods like staple goods, and boxed goods to last longer I needed something I could see through so I did not have to open each one to see how much was left before grocery day, and with an air tight with a seal to keep the products from bugs or going stale. So in my research I found this product and one by Rubbermaid they makes just the right size needed and clear to see through, but best of all they had lids that were actually air tight! I have been using them for almost 2 months now and have not had any issues with them in fact I have had some for over 6 months and these seem to be the best on the market. I have rearranged my entire kitchen pantry and love how I can see with just a quick peek at what I need to purchase on my monthly grocery run. I liked them so well I even bought some to keep my crafts organized too! The best money I ever spet was gong back in time to when you wash and dry items like these.

They store a variety of items from arts and crafts and cleaning supplies (see pic) to small tools and housewares like nightlights, flashlights and batteries. I used this item as a snack storage during a recent family trip to save space in the car……and it worked great! My children ages 15-9 were able to access their snacks with ease while keeping the car neat and clean. The best part is how durable this bin is. Usually with this type of bin (especially being cost efficient) , the handles would have broken off, the top would have cracked or some other malfunction. My garage is full of assorted sizes, colors purchased through the years. Great lock style lids help secure the contents. This recent batch were noticeably thinner plastic though. This assortment of storage containers is well-designed…1 large size, 2 medium size, and one-size lid to fit both. The lid has a vent so the entire container of food can go from refrigerator to microwave in one step. I bought 3 of these for my mother-in-law because she can never find the proper-fitting lid in her currently disorganized storage drawer (sound familiar?)
