Both sinks in my kids bathroom were clogged. 1 had orbeez in the drain and there was standing water in it & the other had kinetic sand in the drain so it drained slow. I poured one side of the solution directly in the drain & I poured the other side of the solution in the standing water. I let both sit for about 30hrs then poured hot boiling water down both drains 2x & they were both clear & water poured down the drain as a normal sink would. I use a drain cleaner 2-3 a year, usually the red bottle, "D". This brand sounded like a good alternative. It was so easy to use, especially because you just empty one of the chambers into the drain and let it do it's thing. I did not use boiling water to rinse. Ultimately, this product did help. My shower drain was clogged to the point that it took over 24 hours to drain. (By the end, I think it might have been totally stopped.) I tried 16 ounces and I thought maybe it helped a little, so I did another 16 ounces. That seems to help a little more, so I got another bottle and ultimately poured another 80 ounces down (on top of the first 32). Each round seemed to do a little more, and by the end, it was draining in just a few minutes. So it didn't entirely solve the problem, but it did make it a lot better, it just took a lot more than 16 oz. I've also gotten very good results from this in the past for less serious clogs. I think that it does do what it's supposed to, but it takes a lot more than the directions say for serious clogs.STK1
I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I purchased Drano max gel clog remover. It says that it is guaranteed to clear packages. I use this on a slow drain that had hair in it. I followed the directions and used approximately half the bottle and waited and then rinsed with hot water. The drain does seem to be running faster now, but I might use the rest of the bottle to clear anything else out. It's a thick liquid with a strong smell so make sure there is ample ventilation. I would purchase this product again.

We periodically were using Drano and Liquid Plumber to open up our drains when they got backed up. Followed with hot water, they worked every time. We decided to give Liquid Fire a try. Read all the instructions on the label carefully and used it in our bathtub and bathroom sink drains. I've tried several other chemicals and snakes and this by far is the easiest way to unclog a drain. You need to start with a dry sink or tub for this to work since you need to pour on really hot water to activate. Thrift is lye in pebble form. Thrift was almost solely and still is primarily available in plumbing supply shops. There is a reason for that. This stuff works! Water must be flowing so handle it before it is 100% clogged. Be sure to heat the pipes and it's better to use boiled water to pour in after you put it in the drain. The hotter the water the better it works, but hot tap water will work also. It will not eat the pipes like sulfuric acid. The drain care worked really well and perhaps too well. I had one drain that was a little slow so I used the crystal version of the drain cleaner and it seemed to do a great job of cleaning the gunk off the inside of the pipe since something, I suspect the gunk, plugged the line. I did snake the line and was able to clear the plug. As a monthly/quarterly treatment I suspect that this drain cleaner will do a great job of keeping the line clear so that we don't experience the slow drain to begin with.MikeM11

I first bought this in 1990 when I bought my first house. A lady lived there with long hair and it was thick in the drains. The plumber opened my drains but they were still slow so after that I took his advice and used this stuff. Back then it was called Drain Care and you still see the old blue/red labelled stuff today, thou Zep is changing the name. Follow the directions and make sure you put it down the drain at night or when you are leaving for 8 hours minimum. I tried everything for a crazy clog we had… My wife ran cabbage down our garbage disposal, which caused a clog to form around 10-15 feet past the P Trap. It shot cabbage and water up and out of the other drain and up the air gap to our dishwasher… The water filled up our sink and the water level stayed that way until I drained it by removing the P Trap. I used a clog buster, which is an expanding rubber balloon that plunges the pipes, and all it did was loosen my pipes and cause leaks, which I had to tighten. I used a 25 ft auger/snake, which was very difficult to get past the elbows. I had to attach the snake to my power drill, which was ridiculous to use, because it flopped everywhere. The snake got a few chunks but it wasn't doing nearly enough before it kinked too many times. This stuff… I had to use spare pipes to bypass my garbage disposal and my air gap to my dishwasher, so it couldn't bubble up and back flow, which would destroy them. Do not use this in your garbage disposal, if you don't want to replace it… Also, drain the water out of your sink by opening your P Trap, BEFORE you use this. The water will dilute the acid, and the acid will EAT your metal sink. I'm not kidding, there's a video out there showing the damage it did. The sulfuric acid must only contact with PVC pipes, nothing metal. Let me give you an idea of how strong this stuff is… As soon as I started pouring this down my drain, I heard a loud POP! It was the metal grate in my drain splitting, which is now mangled. It gave off a steam as I poured it, like acid does in the movies. The PVC piping held up well, as it should, since many protective gloves are made of PVC. I don't care about the drain grate, because this clog is COMPLETELY GONE. When I flushed it with water, there was absolutely no resistance or back up whatsoever. This product saved us a plumber charge, which might not have permanently solved the problem anyways. It also ended our 3 day battle with that horrible clog. To sum it up, this product is the Nuclear Option. It's a last resort option that is dangerous and can cause extensive collateral damage if not used properly. It is also almost guaranteed to completely annihilate whatever you use it on, including metal and skin. In my case, it destroyed an awful clog that nothing else could, and I'm glad I bought it. Great product works very well but after I poor 1/3 of the bottle in my drain it got some fume or something that made my tub look horrible . I try scrubbing and reading online with all kind of delimer or scrubbing with CLR Calcium ,Lime and rust remover. I followed the instructions exactly!! I used 1 packet because I noticed my tub drain slowing; not clogged. About halfway through the wait time I could smell scent of “rotten eggs” wafting into my bedroom. I flushed drain immediately with extremely hot water and let tub run on hot for 30 minutes. Nothing could stop the smell. I kept flushing water down tub drain for additional 30 minutes. Finally I poured baking soda down drain and followed up with vinegar just to help freshen drain and hopefully squelch smell. I read some reviews who had success with this drain unclogger so I decided to try it. My kitchen sink has a tough clog so I specifically followed the package directions but, the drain is still clogged. However, this stuff discolored the inside of the sink drain. I also used it in my bathroom sink, which has a drain mechanism that closes by pushing down on the lever on the faucet if you want to fill the sink with water. This product took the color off the drain mechanism, which was a deep bronze color but, now it is a brass color. They claim that this product is safe for pipes but, what it did to my sinks makes me wonder how safe it really is. after a shower saw overflow in my basement drain, tub, and toilet. for years had loud noises from the pipes after flushing or showering in the 2nd floor washroom. did a quick plunge on the drain then put a gallon in my 1st/main floor toilet and flushed. left it overnight (8/9 hours) and flushed the washroom sink with hot water. flushed all the toilets, noticeably quieter. no overflow and could actually see the pipe from the basement drain were it was over flowing. left basement tub on for 10 min to see if it would overflow, it did not. can definitely recommend for organic clogs (hair, grease, feminine products) and will use as preventative maintenance once a year.905guy
In my 70 year old house every few years the basement floor drain would start to back up whenever the kitchen sink or dishwasher was drained. I believe the issue is 70 years of kitchen debris in the horizontal line under basement slab right after the floor drain trap. I would call a plumber each time and they would snake the line with varying success and always for hundreds of dollars. This time I tried Green Gobbler. I poured half the bottle into the kitchen sink and half the bottle directly into the floor drain and let it sit overnight. In the morning I poured about 10 L of boiling water down the sink drain. I live in a 70+-year-old house that has always been a rental home so it has had decades' worth of renters leaving years of gunk in the drains. Add my long hair occasionally getting washed down the sink, and within a couple of months, our bathroom sink started to barely drain at all. I tried snaking the drain and chemical-based cleaner and boiling water and a plunger. Although the snake pulled out a couple of hairballs, nothing was successful in making it drain faster. So I stumbled on this in home depot and decided to give it a shot. I followed the instructions for a large clog; I poured two packs in the sink before bed last night. I added a little bit of hot water to wash down the product that had stuck to the sink basin and it started to smell horrible. As I understand it, it isn't this product that causes the smell but rather the decades of filth breaking down. In the morning, I boiled a kettle of water and poured it down the drain. Unfortunately, it seemed that the drain was now completely clogged. I drew a line on the sink basin to mark the height of the water and then checked back every few minutes to see if the water level was going down at all. It wasn't. It just stayed completely clogged for almost an hour when suddenly all the water started to drain. It wasn't draining quickly yet though, so I turned on the hot water tap to continue flushing down more hot water, and lo and behold, the sink was now completely clear!! It has never drained so well!!! We've decided to drop a pack down all our drains just to clear them all up a little bit too. I have used other drain cleaners before that didn't fix the problem. My kitchen sink and shower drain to the same pipe. It often first backs up into my shower then drains. Over the weekend it stopped draining all together. After using a box of baking soda and a litre of vinegar and lots of plunging I found this product. It cleared my drain in no time. I used it a little differently than the directions. I poured 2 packets down the kitchen sink. I filled the sink with water and let it dissolve slowly. It back flowed into my shower and down it went. I will continue to use this as a preventive measure.Denise
I tried this product today on a fully clogged bathroom sink drain. Worked excellent. I booked water and poured down the drain – completely clear. Just a heads up, although the product itself has no odour… Once the reaction happens in the drain the smell is rancid. One of the worst smells ever, almost made me yam down the drain. Yes, I would recommend this product the product specifically labels what it's to be used for, how to use it, how long to use it, and what to do after it's done being used. I followed the directions and saved myself from having to call the plumber it's been a year and a half since my drain has clogged like this and it went down beautifully. OK so I just poured this down my drain and so far it’s working wonderfully. It definitely thumbs up like crazy and on the bottle it said you might see a little bit. So definitely be prepared to see more fun than expected. I really like the fact that it’s dual action cleaning material. So you have two different types of liquid that makes us together to clean out your dream. You’re only supposed to use it in the sink in the bathroom or in the toilet. It doesn’t have any type of smell that I can sense so far. It does seem to be pretty dangerous if it gets close to children. It says if you come in contact with it to immediately rinse off as fast as possible. So I would say just be careful with this product but I’m definitely happy with it!rae.l
I got this because the Max Gel, while it works GREAT, does not deodorize. However, this Dual Force variety does not deodorize at all. Not happy with that. Also, I thought, because it was a foam, it might clean the inside of the pipes better than the Max Gel. It didn't seem to clean the residue/build-up that I can see in the first few inches down my sink pipe at all. It does foam, and it does help with clogs and drainage, but it doesn't do what I was looking for it to do (clean and deodorize). Do not recommend and will not buy again.addisonsvox

Complete waste of money! I followed the directions exactly but after several tries, which resulted in going through the entire bottle, absolutely nothing happened other than making me nauseated from the smell. I'm a widow on a fixed income and this was money I could ill afford but now, I'm going to have to come up with more money from somewhere to hire a plumber that can hopefully fix the problem….because this sure didn't.sarah

A plumber recommended this to me as the drain in my basement shower has a unique design that prevents it from having a snake run though it. It works! Just follow the directions ( there are u tube videos on how to use ) and it works in minutes! Anything organic (hair etc) just dissolves and is flushed away. I will always have some on hand.burgewp

Used a hand held to try to unclog my drain, but to no avail. Found that it could be the clean out. Didn’t go far enough because no change in the back up. Got this beauty and tried it out. Went about 30 feet and stopped. Thought the stoppage was a “T” section in the pipe and got dejected. Tried it the next day and got to the stoppage again. Let her spin and pushed the auger hard, inch by inch. That made the difference! That was the clog and was so tight and packed in there, it only felt like it was the end of the pipe. Pushed the clog further down the pipe and it eventually sucked the back up, down to the sewer. So happy I was able to get it it done! Already saved money on its first use!Alex
I bought this guy to run my main line to my septic since any time the tank fills up the main line clogs. It's an 87' run from the cleanout outside to the tank and the tank isn't real deep so it probably has the minimum slope required by law to make the distance. Anyways… I tried to do like the guy in the review video and add another 50' to it, but at almost 50' it started to bind so I would have to go between forward and reverse when I felt it start to bind. Thank God for rubber gloves under cheap work gloves… My system must have a couple 90's in it because this guy will not go past about 40-45' smoothly. I tried the root cutter despite knowing there was no roots in our lines, then the pig tail spiral one and still couldn't feed past about 51 feet. This machine cost me half of my last roto-rooter visit so I thought it was a good investment. However while I think it's a good machine with the first 50', I don't think it's powerful enough to run 100' like the video posted shows. Based on that video I basically wasted $400+ since I bought a warranty and now I'm sitting here waiting for a call back from a local drain cleaning service and you can't return these machines once used (ew and duh). Both sinks in my kids bathroom were clogged. 1 had orbeez in the drain and there was standing water in it & the other had kinetic sand in the drain so it drained slow. I poured one side of the solution directly in the drain & I poured the other side of the solution in the standing water. I let both sit for about 30hrs then poured hot boiling water down both drains 2x & they were both clear & water poured down the drain as a normal sink would. This is amazing & I would definitely recommend. This may be one of the higher drain solutions but it's way better than calling a plumberMrs E
Followed instructions step by step. Used boiling water and let it set overnight using both containers. My house now smells like a chemical plant. I had to siphon the green gobbler out of sink into a bucket and use a shop vac to remove drain line. Used a clogg blaster that you hook to garden hose. instantly unclogged the drain. take my advice and buy a drain king for garden hose. it will save you headache literally from chemical smells and extra work.isaac
I won't fuss with baking soda and vinegar anymore after using one treatment of Green Gobbler in my once hopelessly clogged tub drain. I poured in one treatment and left it undisturbed for nearly 24 hours. I poured one liter of boiling water down the drain and then took a hot shower. At first, I thought I might need a second treatment, but about halfway through my shower, the tub was draining 100%. I chose Green Gobbler because I am trying to limit my contributions to chemicals in the sewer system and because of the amazing reviews. The reviews don't lie.
