I took around a month to compare this to and read reviews of every other griddle you could think of. This one is just perfect and for the price point you can't beat it. For starters, the surface area is one of the largest there is. When you combine that with the flawless non stick surface, almost even heating and removable handles for flat storage, it is simply the best at what it does. No it doesn't have a warming tray, or a splash guard or fancy copper but honestly those would ruin this wonderful, simple design. I saw some reviews that mentioned warped and the non stick coming off. We use ours almost daily for pancakes, bacon, and sausage and have never had a problem. Just use common sense and you should never have an issue. I turn it to the warm setting and after it warms up then I turn it to the final temperature setting.Melanie
I used to have a griddle when I was a kid but since then I've been without one. I see this product every time I go shopping and I tell myself I want it but probably don't need it. I finally purchased the Presto 20" Electric Griddle and now wonder how I lived without this awesome product! I opened the box and was surprised how light the griddle is and how I only needed to assemble the legs on with just a Phillips screwdriver. It also came with the drip pan that easily slides on the front and the temperature gage that connects to the back of the griddle to be plugged in. It came with very simple instructions for the griddle like not to use metal utensils because it will mess up the griddle and the amazing nonstick coating it has on it. The instructions also has a chart to use that tells you the appropriate temperature for different foods and the time it takes to make them. I put this chart up on the side of my refrigerator and I'm very glad I did because it has been very helpful. I love using the griddle to cook breakfast meals on especially every Saturday morning with the kids just like my mom did when I was a kid. It cooks 6-8 pancakes at a time(depending on how big), french toast, makes perfectly round omelettes or over easy eggs that can be flipped over super clean and easy. I also use the griddle to make grilled cheese, toasted sandwiches, cheeseburgers, steak-ums, hot dogs, grilled chicken and many other delicious meals you can think of. The only food that I don't like making on this griddle is bacon or any other food that is super greasy because the griddle is flat and only has a little ledge to stop the grease from splashing over and making a mess despite the drip box. Then the best part is when your done using it you need only to wipe it down and there you go, all clean! When I'm done using it I put it away in a cabinet until next time I need it. I feel like people must have felt like in the south when indoor air conditioning showed up for the first time! (True story, my Cajun daddy told me when he was a kid they had a choice between a TV or an air conditioner, and the AC won unanimously!) THAT is how I feel about the Ninja indoor grill. Since I got it a month ago, I have not used my stove or oven once. I do everything I can on this, the things I can't I microwave or use my instantpot. We bought this as we are getting ready to RV full time. We cannot live without it. If for no other reason, making near fat free air fries is worth it alone. I keep potatoes in the refrigerator in ice cold water, sliced ala my French fry cutter (which needs to come with this grill). I spin them and paper towel them dry, which preheating. It literally takes a teaspoon of oil or tad more. About 25 – 27 minutes on 390 air crisp. They are super healthy and actually better than fried ones are. Sweet potatos don't need a cold water soak, I microwave them a minute then peel and push through the fry cutter, they get smidge of oil (we use grape seed oil) and are done in about 13 minutes on 385 (they tend to get burned edges on 390). Basically we are eating a super healthy carb with about as minimal fat on it as you can get. I couldn't eat a plain or sweet baked potato with this amount of oil. Those restaurant sweet potato fries tend to be overly greasy. These are not. We like that Sweet Preacher Fire House seasoning you can get at Wally World for the sweet potatoes, and the Black and Tan for the regular ones. I will slice up raw okra, lightly spritz it with oil, and air crisp it, about 9 minutes. It is delicious and like fried okra. I am sure I could put some sort of batter on it, but it is easy to do this way. The probe cooks steaks exaclty like the photo shows to your liking if you will follow the instructions. I had a cantaloupe size pork loin roast (not tenderloin) and couldn't figure out exactly which setting to cook it on. I was afraid the outside would be over cooked and dry, but it turned out perfect, in spite of my bumbling between several cooking options. We don't do chicken, but it has cooked pork chops, steak, jalapeno poppers, french toast. We use it at least twice a day.TheWylderSkye
I bought this and loved it! Used the prob on two different occasions, worked like a dream. Cowboy cut 1 1/2” thick porterhouse from frozen, was perfect the first time I used it!!!!!! Second time was several 1” thick pork chops I put the prob I the slightly thicker on place it in the center, they were perfect. Just the two times, we don’t cook much. The porterhouse was just for us, lol had to try out our new gadget! We used it a lot the next few but only the air fryer. Now I’ve tried using the prob to grill twice. It just keeps saying to “plug it in”. So it doesn’t keep temp or turn it off. I’m really disappointed. I bought it for this feature so it would do the work when we had company. My sister has a similar model and raved about it so much i decided to try it too. I am amazed at how beautifully this cooks EVERYTHING! I now can cook steaks of any kind (beef and pork) perfectly! It’s so easy! With the temperature probe, I will never eat a steak that is under or over cooked. It even tells me when to flip the steak! Grilled veggies are a breeze. I have reheated shrimp, pizza, you name it, and it tastes like I made it fresh. My only complaint is when air cooking with the lid down, veggies end up in the grease reservoir. The angle of the pan makes them slide. I usually put something under the front two legs so it’s not tilted so much. I wish I could adjust the front “feet”. You WILL NOT be disappointed in the oven/grill/griddle. I can also cook 6 pancakes at a time and they are all evenly browned at the same time. Cleanup is so easy! I love Cuisinart as a brand and usually buy this brand. 4/6 of my kitchen appliances are from this brand and I LOVE them, but this product to me is a flop. This is a good product for just grilling sandwiches, steaks, burgers, ect. I don't recommend as a griddle. For me this was over priced if you already have a real grille and you are only able to use this for sandwiches because the griddle is a fail in my opinion. Pros: – Appears to be good quality/well made. I would assume this would last a long time. – Sleek design, looks nice in my kitchen. – Grill/Grille plates are easy to flip back and forth, and take in and out. Over all it has a nice design for both aesthetic and maneuvering. Cons: – As another review stated, when griddle is laid open and flat, it is not level. I tried to cook eggs and they ran right off the griddle down the "grease hole" and I couldn't do anything to stop it. This creates a big problem if you're cooking anything liquid-y. – Takes a long time to heat up. – In folded grill mode it does not cook evenly when on the same temp for top/bottom. The bottom heats better than the top. You can remedy this by putting the bottom on a lower heat and the top on a higher heat. – Small Cooking surface. Fits about 4 silver dollar pancakes on one side. From the photos I did expect this to be a bit bigger. – I found the cooking functions a little confusing to navigate at first. There is a slight learning curve. I think the user functions could have been set up easier. – Top press pushes things off the grille when you first put it down, because it seems to need pressure to adjust the top. It happens smoothly but only after pushing my sandwiches and potatoes off the front. – If you put oil on the top when making sandwiches, it runs down and drips onto the counter when you open it. There is nothing to catch the grease from the top when it is "open faced". Full disclosure I returned this before trying the smokeless mode, so I cannot comment on that. So if you really need JUST a panini press or a grille that is going to be used in the "folded/press" mode, and only want to cook 2 sandwiches or 2 steaks (MAYBE 4 SMALL burgers) at a time then this is a good machine.nicktoria
I bought a cheap iron for liege waffles, with abysmal results. Temperature "control" on inexpensive machines is a misnomer. So I hacked it with an industrial temperature controller. I purchased this machine thinking that I needed to check my results. My retrofitted iron blows this out of the water. However, if you do not possess the means or wrong-headedness to rebuild a waffle maker from scratch, this iron seems to do as well as possible sans spending the big bucks. Temperature control was excellent, though much less powerful than my iron, likely because it relies on radiating the heat to the iron plates rather than direct conduction. The slower bake could affect the moisture level of the waffle, though results were good for me. I dislike the plate design for this machine, the holes are shallow, and the walls of the waffle are thick, giving a bit too much dough-to-wonderful-caramelization-surface-area ratio. Great consumer level iron, but not the result I was looking for.Andrew
I just got this last week and have been making many batches of liege waffles. I love the waffle iron and, as Waffle Pantry will tell you, their price is the best you will find. You get the Cuisinart Griddler (which comes w/ grill and griddle plates) AND a separate box with Belgian waffle plates (which other sites sell separately for about $40!). So – great deal. Also, the iron itself is very nicely made and the temperature (in 25 degree increments) is true to stated (I measured w/ separate thermometer). Shipment came quickly. Very satisfied. Works as a flat top should. Takes a decent season very well. Temperature controller is pretty accurate, within 30C at the hot spot as recorded with a IR thermometer. There is between a 50-100C differential between the hot and cold spots, perfect for keeping things warm on the sides as you're cooking in the center. Directions, though written in english, may as well be Chinese. But it's pretty straightforward, I mean it's a griddle. Use a grounded 30amp circuit, turn the knob to make it hot. Rocket science indeed. I would highly recommend this to anyone, and I may even buy another for my kitchen at work.gagnatron5000

I bought this to use on vacation so we could grill on occasion instead of eat out every meal. The grill that is currently being sold by Sams Club has the new style lid that will stand up when not in use. That is an advantage but installing plastic handle presented the first challenge. Part of the screw installation process used a flat metal washer. Turned out it was the incorrect size and would not go on the screw. I was installed it anyway without the washer because I needed to use it and purchased a washer from local hardware store later. The first couple of days it worked fine. When you turn the power on you then set the grilling temperature. The lights that indicate the temperature setting light up as you increase the temperature. That worked fine the first 2 days. On the third day the light indicating a 375 degree temp came on as soon as I plugged it in, before I made any temperature adjustment and the lights for the 325 temp wouldn't come on at all. No matter what temp I put it on neither of these light indicators would change. In other words, you really didn't know what the temperature setting was. As I was repacking the grill to return to Sams I ran across the large warranty sheet. The manufacture only warrants this grill for 60 DAYS. To me that is an indication they don't have much confidence in their manufacturing process. It is hard to find something that doesn't provide a warranty of less than one year.boots2410
I've had this grill for eight months, and use it several times a week. I would rather cook on the outdoor grill for the char-grilled taste, but living in Florida I am not standing outside during the summer to cook. It does seem to cook hotter on the right side than on the left side, but now that I'm aware of that, I can adjust my cooking. I clean the three main parts every time I grill and every few weeks, I take it completely apart to clean the plastic bottom. It can be taken apart by the screws underneath to get around the fan. I love grilled food over fried or baked, and this is the best grill I've ever owned. I have had zero problems with smoke. Just make sure you follow the directions and put water in the bottom pan.Chr15ty
Easy to assemble and use right out of the box. The current temperature outside is -20 degrees and it was great to grill a couple of steaks indoors. After use clean up was a breeze. I was afraid of the fat/grease falling off of the two steaks I cooked and making a mess inside of the grill, but it fell perfectly into the drip pan provided and the steaks cooked perfectly!!! I finally got to put it to the test, I was able to do an egg Sunny side up, that wasn't too bad. I tried to toast a muffin and that didn't work. Today Nov 4, I thought man I want some pancakes. I tried it out, at 8:30pm I plugged it in and let it warm up. It's 9:22 and I've done three pancakes, The one went almost 10 mins was very white and still a little raw. Had I paid attention when I bought it, I would've seen that it is only 5inches. I didn't see that on the box the day of purchase. I will be taking it back. I bought this little griddle after seeing it at Walmart but really didn't have any idea how much I would use it. It is so easy to use and fast clean up. I use it every day for breakfast and sometimes for dinner and desserts. It's use is unlimited. So far my favorite things to cook on it is scrambled eggs with onions, peppers, and spices. It slides right out of the griddle and onto a piece of toast with cheese. Great breakfast! I've also made a mini mexican pizza which turned out amazing and helped keep my calories down. I've also made grilled cheese, toasted peanut butter and jelly and blueberry muffins. I'm going to try naan bread and pineapple cake next. I am very disappointed in this product and am returning it. I wanted a countertop griddle/grill/fryer, etc. that would not smoke up and stink up my kitchen and house, as I only have a "down draft" type of vent fan for my glass cooktop, and it doesn't do squat. I was hoping this appliance would be the perfect solution. It certainly sounded and looked good in the video. Alas, it was a big let-down when I tried to grill boneless chicken breasts (already cut into fairly small pieces) and it took MORE THAN AN HOUR. The directions said to give them 5 minutes per side. After about 70 minutes I finally shut off the grill and finished my (then tough and dried out) chicken in the microwave. I was actually afraid the water pan may have gone dry after all that time, and there is NO WAY to check it when you are using the grill. When the components were finally cooled off enough to handle and clean (another 20 minutes or so of dead time), I discovered the water pan was NOT dry at all. Yet for some reason I had a lot of water/moisture that had pooled UNDER the whole unit on my countertop, so I had to sop that up. Cleaning the grill itself was not bad because I had sprayed it with PAM first…but the components–the drip pan, the water pan, the exterior of the whole unit–all had to be washed separately and dried and then reassembled for next use, which was a pain in the butt. I was going to try to cook bacon in the griddle, but realized what a mess it would be to have to pick the hot griddle plate out of the unit without burning myself, and dump the grease somewhere without spilling it first. I DID try GRILLING bacon the previous day, and that was exceedingly slow…and messy. The bacon did not brown evenly…nor did my chicken last night, by the way. In all fairness, the first thing I made when I unpacked it was an omelette with 4 eggs. I LOVED the way it just rolled up and off the griddle, and it was delicious. But I really could have done the same thing, in half the time and with 1/4 the cleanup, in my electric frying pan. As others have noted also, there is nothing special about the taste of food cooked on this appliance. You might as well use your old George Foreman grill (a WHOLE lot quicker!!!!) or your oven or your microwave. The results will be better with less effort.JManning
I was so excited to get this product, and when I saw that it was on Today's Special Value I snatched it up without hesitation. I had read a lot of reviews, watched videos on it compared to other brands and saw nothing to make me think I shouldn't give it a try. Well I have never been so disappointed with a purchase in my life! I was so certain I would love this product that I immediately threw away the original packaging, if not this item would have been returned. The concept is good, I will even go as far to say that what I have made so far on the grill was very good. The problems come with cleaning the product. The first problem that I encountered was after washing the grill plate for the first time I could already see the nonstick coating coming off around the edges. I don't have a dishwasher so that was gently hand washing the item with mild detergent and a soft non-abrasive sponge. My second pet peeve, that may not be a problem to those who do have a dishwasher, but the grooves on the grill plate are almost impossible to clean. Especially on the bottom side of the grill plate, there are grooves that food particles and grease get in that are very hard to get to. The grease pan under the heat element and the water tray in the bottom are not as hard but still get very greasy with each use. Lastly the fan system, which is what makes this product so desirable to use indoors, after just two uses I could look down in the fan compartment and see grease build up. So the vapors the fan pull in have grease in them that is being pulled into the fan compartment which is not accessible to clean without turning the unit over and unscrewing and removing a plate on the bottom. I clean everything after each use but on just the fourth use had to access this compartment and clean the grease out of it. Just an overall disappointment. It's just not worth all the trouble in my opinion. I'm majorly let down QVC.gnlreed
I bought this at a Walmart store, not online, about 4 months ago. Things I like about it: It does grill steaks and hamburgers REALLY well. Chicken breasts not quite as well, but certainly passable. So, it does what it is supposed to do, and does it well. It's pretty inexpensive. Things I don't like: Mine didn't come with the griddle. I wish I had read the box a little more thoroughly. Granted, this isn't the manufacturer's fault. The cover does not seal. What's the point in having the cover if the smoke still comes out? The fan is underpowered and doesn't do a good job. It is barely adequate for the smoke created by a hamburger, and not at all adequate for steaks The grill doesn't clean NEARLY as easily as it is depicted in the infomercials. The parts can go into the dishwasher, but the grill surface itself rarely comes clean without a lot of effort. The inside of the machine gets greasy, and it's very difficult to clean that There are only 5 temperature settings. There needs to be more control. After 4 months, the non-stick grill is now sticking on almost anything I cook. It's a shame there are so many drawbacks to this device, because I was really happy with the way it cooked my steaks. I live in an apartment, can't have a barbecue grill, and this is about the only way I can enjoy a good steak. But if I had known that things went downhill so quickly with this unit, I would never have bought it.Pau

I took around a month to compare this to and read reviews of every other griddle you could think of. This one is just perfect and for the price point you can't beat it. For starters, the surface area is one of the largest there is. When you combine that with the flawless non stick surface, almost even heating and removable handles for flat storage, it is simply the best at what it does. No it doesn't have a warming tray, or a splash guard or fancy copper but honestly those would ruin this wonderful, simple design. I saw some reviews that mentioned warped and the non stick coming off. We use ours almost daily for pancakes, bacon, and sausage and have never had a problem. Just use common sense and you should never have an issue. I turn it to the warm setting and after it warms up then I turn it to the final temperature setting.Melanie
I used to have a griddle when I was a kid but since then I've been without one. I see this product every time I go shopping and I tell myself I want it but probably don't need it. I finally purchased the Presto 20" Electric Griddle and now wonder how I lived without this awesome product! I opened the box and was surprised how light the griddle is and how I only needed to assemble the legs on with just a Phillips screwdriver. It also came with the drip pan that easily slides on the front and the temperature gage that connects to the back of the griddle to be plugged in. It came with very simple instructions for the griddle like not to use metal utensils because it will mess up the griddle and the amazing nonstick coating it has on it. The instructions also has a chart to use that tells you the appropriate temperature for different foods and the time it takes to make them. I put this chart up on the side of my refrigerator and I'm very glad I did because it has been very helpful. I love using the griddle to cook breakfast meals on especially every Saturday morning with the kids just like my mom did when I was a kid. It cooks 6-8 pancakes at a time(depending on how big), french toast, makes perfectly round omelettes or over easy eggs that can be flipped over super clean and easy. I also use the griddle to make grilled cheese, toasted sandwiches, cheeseburgers, steak-ums, hot dogs, grilled chicken and many other delicious meals you can think of. The only food that I don't like making on this griddle is bacon or any other food that is super greasy because the griddle is flat and only has a little ledge to stop the grease from splashing over and making a mess despite the drip box. Then the best part is when your done using it you need only to wipe it down and there you go, all clean! When I'm done using it I put it away in a cabinet until next time I need it. It has taken me a bit to write my review because I have so enjoyed using my Hamilton Beach Reversible Durathon Ceramic Griddle that I simply haven't taken the time to sit down and write about it. The griddle heats quickly and the convenience of having the ability to reverse the griddle makes using it ever so easy. I first tried the griddle with a simple grilled cheese and, even though I use 3 slices of cheese which melts over the sides, there was not a single bit of sticking to the surface. The cheese also melted more quickly than my old griddle. Next I used the griddle to fry bacon. This is where the Hamilton Beach Durathon Ceramic Griddle really shined. The bacon was fried very crisply just the way I like it in about half the time of my old griddle. I could continue but I am getting ready to grill burgers and I can't wait to try it out again. So far it is a very good product. Nonstick surface is superior. Did a lot of research to make sure this was a good ceramic product so we were not using Teflon. Not real fond of the base because the griddle does not lock into it and could be dropped. And the base seems like it would break easily. So far happy with purchase.ScottD

This electric griddle is very long and thin. I was a little concerned at first because I thought it would crack because it is so thin. The size does make it awkward to store, but it is excellent for cooking a lot of food at one time. I have been using this everyday to make our eggs for the family. I can cook eight eggs at one time comfortably. It is pretty good at non sticking but has lost some of it over time. I have also noticed that some parts of the griddle are not as hot as others and it doesn't get as hot as it did when I first started using it. We do a big Sunday breakfast , this weekend I got to use my new Toastmaster 10×20 Griddle. I was so excited because my older griddle that goes ontop of my gas stove is a little warpped, then eggs run to one side, ugh! The Toastmaster Griddle was great, nice & sturdy. The drip tray is a nice add on for greaser foods. The bottom of 2 of the legs has little rubber grippers, to help from sliding on the counter top. Cooking started off ok, but got better. I adjusted the temperature, & the griddle heated up more evenly. The pancakes turned out great, no complaints. Weill enjoy using my new Toastmaster griddle for many Sunday breakfasts.Dana

I like that I could control the heat setting temperature I like that it has a little container that goes in a slot to catch the oil and grease. But the one thing I do not like about this is It does stick it's not supposed to stick but it does stick. I would reccomend to anyone. It is fast to heat. It's flat and you have a little container that catches the oils. You can cook two or more different things at one time. I have cooked eggs, bacon and sausage. it's really fast and easy to clean. I let it cool down for few minutes, (if it needs heavy cleaning) I take a hot soapy wash cloth and I hold the griddle in the sink, the end that has the place you plug the tempature control in I hold that up toward my face the other end in the sink. I wipe with the hot soapy cloth and I then take my kitchen sink sprayerand spray it off. Then Dry. If it not really messy. I just take a hot wash cloth no soap and wipe it really good. I take paper towels and wipe really well. Then I drystefany.s

Tried making pancakes and they stuck horribly. So I tried again at a hotter temperature. Still stuck. Tried again with oil and that didn't help much either. I was able to flip them at least, but they weren't cooked evenly at all. I would have returned it, but though it might be ok for other foods. The second time I used it, I made sausage links. They still stuck terribly, and I had to put them all directly above the heating element to get any browning at all. Afterwards, the griddle was still pretty difficult to clean. Heat distribution is non-existent. Non-stick coating is the stickiest non-stick coating I've ever used in my 30 years of cooking. The warming tray is nice. That's the only good thing I can say about it. I'd like to return it, but it's not showing up in my purchase history, so I'm not sure if I've missed the 90-day return deadline. I've used other Oster appliances and have had some good ones. Hopefully the new model is better.Junk
I don't use the worming tray and don't like the grease tray in the back, but that's not a big deal. All griddles don't have an even cooking area. At least non that I have found. Nor is the thermostat very accurate. I us an expensive infra red thermometer. 1) The ridges around the outer cooking surface collects food that doesn't just wash out. 2) Because of the oversized handles, it's hard to line up the thermostat. 3) When you wash the tray under the faucet, water accumulates between the chrome and the plastic handle. If you don't drain it out, it drops all over the place even after it sits on the shelf for a long time.Skip
