The RipStik Rush is pretty serious! It’s like riding the scooters without the handle. Like rollerblades on steroids. The front wheel is thicker than the rear wheel and it’s heavier than a regular skateboard. it does not have 4 wheels, the RipStik has a total of 2 wheels. It is not like a hover board that you stand forward and ride. It is like a skateboard with one leg in front and the other in back. Once you get going, the way you turn is to tilt your foot forward or back on your heal. You need to try to balance to stay straight. It is easy to get going. The remote starts working the motor once you get a little momentum (3 mph) going so it doesn’t just take off on you. It can go pretty fast and fishtail. It really is a lot like snow boarding or wakeboarding! it’s actually pretty exhilarating when you master it! The remote helps stop in a slow steady pace and doesn’t just slam on the brakes but still, be gentle. I do recommend wearing all of your protective gear but especially a helmet! Considering this thing does get some really good speed at 10 mph, you don’t want to risk it. Knee pads and elbow pads are a must for me too. It isn’t for a beginner however if you don’t want to use the motor, the best part about this thing is that it will still work without activating the motor. If the battery dies, you can still ride it. If you’re still learning, don’t use the motor. It’s really that easy. There is a power button that you need to push in order for the motor to activate. Don’t push it if you don’t wish to use the motor. It lights up red when activated. The only thing is during the daylight hours, it is hard to tell if the light is on or not. Even cupping my hands over it, I could barely tell if it was lit up. It does come with the charger which refreshingly is not a usb plug! When fully charged I believe the run time on the motor is 40 minutes or more. Again, if the battery for the motor dies, the board itself still works! The 2 aaa batteries for the remote were included. The remote stores on the side of the board so you won’t lose it between uses. All in all, I do recommend this product. Again, it is not a beginner board but experienced riders will love this board!Tamtam
My children love the new RipStik Rush by Razor. Over the past week they've learned to ride this very well and have also learned quite a few different tricks. The rechargeable battery last a lot longer than expected and it's great that you can ride it even if the battery has died, they had the electric scooters by Razor also and they loved them, but if the battery died then they would have to carry the scooters back from wherever they were. I will definitely be purchasing one for my daughter so they'll each have their own. It's great that the remote is small enough to fit in your hand or your pocket and when you're not using the board or charging it the remote attaches to the side of it, so you'll always know where it is. I definitely recommend this, it's a great way to get the kids outside.Jojo1989
This made getting around campus fun. My campus is very hilly, so having this version was great both for getting up and slowly going down hills. At 118 lbs. this carries me and my backpack somewhere around 40 minutes. I would strongly encourage ensuring the ripstik always charges fully when charging. I think I killed my battery by failing to do that once. Also, like others have mentioned, it is a little different than a regular ripstik as the front wheel is much thicker. As a result, when riding my regular ripstiks, it have to get used to a regular front wheel again, but it's not bad. Also, the screws on the electric wheel started to come loose and eventually caught the wheel holder piece, so watch out for that. It will probably start clicking before getting stuck mid-ride and throwing you off. To fix this, I just got some Blue LocTite and put it on these screws and then they never came out again.Ac

when I first tried to ride this skateboard, I was disappointed that, although it says it will hold a steady pace, it stops and won't push me, even though the lights are on, and I just gave it a starting push, like it says to do. After experimenting, I found that it would only work and keep me going if my feet were in very exact places that took about 10 minutes to find. it also will not go up any big hills and go very slow on even the slightest of them. it has no power. Overall, I would not recommend this product at all. get something with a remote, as I have found they are much more reliable than this.luke

I love this board. This is my first e board and def not my last. I look it on a 5 mil run down wind with 12 mph winds, then turned around and did the same up wind. The wind will slow you down and so will hills. The break works well but the Bearings will need to be replaced. They don’t spin for bird poop. Worth the buyGarnett

This product has worked amazingly well and my son has loved riding it around the neighborhood. We may have done something wrong but for some reason the battery will not hold a charge. I called razor and as usual amazing customer service. They are sending us a new battery free of charge possibly because it_-Ès on backorder or possibly because they_-Ève had issues with it. She didn_-Èt say why but it seems like every time I call razor with a product issue they are so great about taking care of it or helping me with it. I got this for my 17 yr old son as a starter board and so far so good it has a great amount of power for the price and it can handle being used hard as I have done my share of Colorado downhill and the board rides really nice ! Cons … sometimes the remote fails seems like it gets stuck in transmission like if you go hard on it for a little stretch and use the brakes some times it won't brake right away or move right away I would have to power it down and back on to get it to work but other than that great board at a great priceJacob A.

Im 140 lbs and I hit 25 mph in my speed test but didn't have the throttle all the way forward in high mode(HIGH+ MODE IS ONLY FOR PROS!!! LIKE A ROCKET UNDER YOUR FEET…handles great in high mode but tighten the trucks cuz speed wobble will happen. Range is incredible on this thing!! I went 16+ miles riding on medium mode(not slow..still 16mph) mostly and a few high mode runs before it finally gave me a low battery beep..in conclusion this board is a beast and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality budget board!! I have a degree in electronics and this board really impressed me. I was looking for parts to build a board that was able to carry my teenager daughter around the park with confidence. This board does it flawlessly for a fraction of the cost of the components installed on it. The most expensive part of all electric toys and personal mobility devices is the battery. For that reason manufacturers usually get the cheapest one they can get that barely gets the product to work. That is not the case with this one. It carries my 115 lb daughter for every bit of the advertised 8 miles with ease. The deck is quite firm, it carries me (200 lbs) without breaking a sweat. The truck is solid and turns like a dream. The charger that comes with it charges to full in less than 3 hours. A faster charger can be used if that is not fast enough for your needs. The wireless link between the remote and the board is extremely dependable. It is aesthetically elegant compared to most boards of all price points. I am very satisfied with my purchase at the current price under three hundred. I feel very confident that it will last a long time of course with exception of the battery since I have not opened it to check the grade of the cells used.
So happy with my purchase, I bought my board 4 months ago and wanted to wait to write my review so I could test the product. I use it almost everyday and could be more pleased with it. I’ve skateboarder/ longboard my whole life and this board give me the freedom of longbording around south beach with little to no effort. I feel like I’m in back to the future on my little hover board… really so cool.. It gets about 8/9 miles before the battery dies. FYI
