I bought a $10 bikini trimmer at a bargain store about a decade ago. It became my absolute favorite HG trimmer that never failed me. I could literally have my whole area done in 5 minutes, and felt smooth as a baby's bum. No pain or dealing with the horrible after-shaving itchies/ingrowns. Good times. It finally died and since then, I've bought countless trimmers from cheap to expensive hoping to find one that matched up to that cheap trimmer but had no luck. I had such a bad experience with one that it nearly turned me off to these trimmers. It nicked and pulled hairs/skin and I became so scared to use it I just went to waxing which is not fun and a monthly expense I didn't want to afford. Finally took a chance on this one despite the mediocre reviews and I'm SO GLAD. this is it! If you're looking for something ten times better than shaving (no itching, ingrown hairs, etc) and something that is the next best thing to the smoothness of waxing, this is it. It's completely painless, you can apply a lot of pressure to really get the hairs at the base and it will never pull hair or nick skin. You can get into the hard-to-reach areas with ease. The hair also grows back thinner for whatever reason. It's truly magical and that's why I'm here writing a ridiculously long review on how life-changing it is. You're welcome 🙂Bree

I was provided the opportunity to test the Philips SatinShave Prestige BRL170/50 premium electric shaving unit. This specific product came neatly packaged, and included the main razor/base, in addition to 4 accessories (a convenient travel cap, a bikini trimming tool/head, an efficiency cap, and a pearl trimmer with safety bar). The SatinShave also came with a small carrying case, and a charging cable. The system took approximately 60 minutes to charge fully, and also featured a 5-minute quick charge option for convenience (if you're in need of a single shave). I found that the unit held power throughout a lengthy shave (multiple areas) consistently. Lights indicating low battery life, full battery life and charging mode were displayed clearly on the main unit. I utilized Philips SatinShave on three areas of my body: my legs, my underarms and my bikini area. The unit itself was easy to hold, and its ergonomic handle shape felt natural, comfortable and light in the hand. This shaver boasts the capability to be utilized for shaving in both wet and dry conditions. I found the shaving conditions to make minimal difference in the units overall shaving performance. The Philips SatinShave removed hair most successfully from my bikini area. The efficiency cap helped to pull my skin taut, and the bikini trimmer accessory enabled me to get a close, smooth shave; even over my typically-sensitive skin. The performance of the Philips SatinShave unit was underwhelming in regard to underarm hair removal. I found it difficult to manipulate the unit under the arm successfully (due to shape of anatomy), in order to achieve/maintain close contact between the foil head and the hair/skin. The Philips SatinShave worked average for leg hair removal. Although the shaver glided over the leg smoothly, the unit did leave residual, coarse stubble, behind on the legs. I found the SatinShave to require more than one pass over areas of the leg (especially the knee) in order to achieve maximum smoothness. In general, I do not feel that the razor surpassed the smoothing effects of waxing or a traditional razor. I also did not feel the electric razor was a time-saver in comparison to a traditional shave. However, Philips SatinShave razor did work to remove hair well in the bikini area and on the legs with minimal irritation, despite having sensitive skin. The SatinShave is also a great on-the-go shaving tool for times when you may miss a spot shaving. It is a great shaver unit to travel with, and I was impressed with the shavers cordless capability, comfortable handle, trimming tools/accessories, actual power and battery-life. Overall, I am happy to have the Philips SatinShave Prestige BRL170/150 as a new tool in my hair removal arsenal.Hayleyc925

I have two complaints about this product – 1) the position of the on/off and speed buttons means I'm constantly turning the razor off when I'm trying to shave. They are placed where one would normally grip the razor. 2) the plastic head protector breaks easily. The grips that hold it in place aren't robust. Your customer service department were very quick in replacing the plastic cover under warranty. The actual razor itself delivers a good shave. This is my third razor purchased from Philips.PHFE

Seeing as I haven't used an electric razor in almost 30 years due to severe irritation after shaving, I was very pleasantly surprised, there was no irritation after shaving at all, with the added bonus of no chance of nicks and cuts. The cut is extremely good it doesn't pull the hairs out like the one I used so many years ago. Its such a good shave that I even use it to shave my head and not just my face instead using of my normal fixed blade razor. The best feature for me is the ability to be able to use it wet (my preferred method) in the shower. I have yet to have full shave with the razor dry, but the spots I missed in the first few shaves That I 'touched up' dry while getting used to the razor showed no irritation at all. I also find it a bit quicker than my normal razor as well, I would estimate at least 5 minutes quicker per full head and face shave. The result is comparable to my normal wet razor except in a couple of areas mainly the underside / point of my chin, its not visibly noticeable but I can feel it when running my hand over those areas, but this may be just experience related. I have also noticed that I use less shaving soap than I did before so it will save me some money in the long term. I would like to see what the shave is like in 6 months and whether I have to replace the cutting heads more often than the estimated 2 years as I am using it for a longer shave than it is really designed for each time I use it. The other thing I have noticed is it is so quiet when in use even when cutting several days’ growth. I was pleased at the fact it came well packed in attractive OEM packaging with its own travel case, the only thing I would suggest is perhaps a little additional space inside the travel case to accommodate the charging cable. Other than that it was easy to use, easy to clean with fast charging time and plenty of shaving time. The pictorial instructions are straight forward and easy to understand. It took a little while to get used to a different speed of shaving and the fact I had to use circular motions for the best shave, but now I wouldn't be without it. Even my girlfriend has noticed how good a shave it is, I didn't tell her I has switched from fixed blade wet shave to electric and she didn't notice the difference. I would recommend this razor to anyone considering 'trading up' to an electric razor. Had I had the chance to 'try before I buy' I would have purchased a similar model of razor years ago.Fraggle1971

I was pleasantly surprised how well this works, having given up on electric shavers decades ago. It shaves relatively close when I've used it dry, and conforms to the body shape. I haven't yet used it wet. It happens that the charger doesn't fit well in my bathroom – the outlet is under the medicine cabinet, and the razor has to angle out when the charger is plugged in, so this will work better where the razor can stand tall in the outlet.gorgesblonde

I thought this would be an upgrade from a cheaper electric trimmer I was using, but it kept pinching and hurt a lot. It left uneven patches, even on lighter areas despite going over the areas multiple times. Debris builds up underneath the popup trimmer too. It took longer than using a regular cheap razor due to the uneven patches, so this does not seem worth it.Sunshine

Didn't shave well and it bites. I was not impressed. I tried it on soft fine hair as well as more coarse hairs and it didn't remove either well. I ended up putting it to the side and using a traditional Billie razor. Super disappointed because I wanted to love it. Will be returning.Ccueto

I just love this Smooth & Silky Body & Bikini personal grooming kit. The kit comes with a nice bag for easy storage and for travel purpose. It came with a battery so that I was able to use it right out of the box. Instructions were clear and easy to follow as well. Since its battery operated and water or splash proof it’s great to use in the shower for quick and easy cleanup. I used it for a quick clean up on my bikini area. It didn’t leave any razor burns and for me that is definitely a plus. It comes with a leveled trimmer for those that don’t want such a close shave. It also has a rotating exfoliating head for the skin, which is really nice. I use the spin brush to pre exfoliate the area, then the regular head to trim up. This is small but handy battery operated razor. It is that time of year to make sure your bikini area is ready for a bathing suit! This Remington Smooth & Silky Bikini grooming kit is compact enough for travel to take everywhere you go. I love that it comes with different attachment heads, for whatever you need! Although, the foil shaver attachment did not really work out for me, so I stopped using it. The exfoliating head is wonderful, it helps with reducing those pesky ingrown hairs. I was so excited for the smooth and silky body and bikini grooming kit. I had really high hopes for it. It is the perfect size, not to large, but not too small. It comes with a little carrying bag which is perfect for traveling. I love that it is battery operated and can be used wet or dry. I tried it both ways and unfortunately it did not work well for me. I used the foil shaver first and it did not remove any of my hair, I then used the bikini and body trimmer head. It left lines down my legs but did not remove any of my hair. I think that unless you have long hairs it will not cut them. My husband has a very hairy chest so I tested each head on him. The only head that works was the bikini and body trimmer, it took his hairs down to stubble, but not a smooth shave. I am very disappointed in this razor. The product pictured and described on the Ulta app is The item pictured / described on the Ulta App is not the same item I received. The shaver came earlier today. It has ONE shaving head not two. There is NO charging base, only a plug in wall charger. When I called customer service they could not tell me if the replacement item they are sending will actually be the two head shaver with a charging base. ((Why?!?)) I guess I'll have to wait for another 7-10 days for my "maybe it is, maybe it's not" the right item to arrive.Wendy

Bought for in store pick-up. I was provided a completely different razor that does not come with a base. The color around the button is solid pink and not white. And it has a dofferent head. All other stores sell that version along with the one advertised here. The employee berated my husband telling him he does not know anything that this is the new and improved model she provided us in our order. That it does not matter that it does not come with a base or that the head only has a single blade. Tried to shove a razor that elsewhere sells down my hsubands throat for $10 that does not match the product they list here (elsewhwre also sells this razor and it is the same price). Just lost a long time customer. Do not try to pawn off cheap products by advertising something else and stating what you are giving them is just a new version (when it is not.)SarHD

I absolutely love this product. I’ve had it for years-and it’s lasted years as long as you replace the batteries. It comes with different plastic attachments (at least mine did) to control your trim. I have been using this product for Years ! This product lasts a long time compared to other products. The blade lasts a long time. I love that it comes with different attachments and even an exfoliator brush ! This product is really an all-in-one b/c it lets you choose if you want to trim or shave certain areas. This is basically just an electric shaver, without the cord. It's great for shaving your feet and ankles (no cuts), but I wouldn't really recommend it for anything else. I used it in the bikini area, and ended up with bright red, chafed skin that lasted for at least two days. So I won't be doing THAT again. Also, it doesn't provide a super smooth shave, like you get with a razor. Major disappointment, as I was expecting it to be as good as the Flawless Facial hair remover, which is excellent. This product is also very LOUD, which I would have been willing to forgive if the shaving results were better.skyebluetopaz

Got this product after a lot of research and other people telling me how much they love their other flawless products. I only had to charge it once because the battery last a long time. Well finally it died, which I recommend stopping shaving if it's close to dying. I went to charge it and it wouldn't charge. I left it sitting, thinking it was charging, it got really hot and no life. It doors work really well on the underarms. I have super sensitive skin and hate using a razor because it hurts so bad. This actually aloud me to shave my underarms without pain and got fairly close. I will say this is only really good for bikini and underarm areas.Sam

I had one similar to this two years ago and loved it so I had to get another! It grabbed those stubbles in private areas that a regular razor can’t! The only negative things I have to say is it sometimes it pinches. If you have longer hair that gets into the foil part it pulls and the side blades hurt a little(can cut your sensitive bits)Adriane

By far the worst electric razor I’ve ever used (and I’ve been through several!). You think the pencil-thin $8.50 bikini / fine hair trimmer is rough? Wait until you get yanked, tugged, and scraped by this monstrosity while still keeping 75% of the hair you go over. Waste of money and will be going straight in the trash. I really like the color of this groomer and like the little bag that zips up that can carry all the attachments. I also like that it is rechargeable and doesn't eat up batteries. The problem is that it doesn't get a very close shave. Some of the attachment heads are just useless to me. The foil shaver didn't work at all. The adjustable length guide was just a piece of junk that didn't work and I ended up removing it. It comes with a little detail trimmer and a battery. It didn't work at all. I thought maybe it was just a bad battery and replaced it with one brand new from a package that I had at home. It still didn't work. I just accepted the fact that I would not be using the detail trimmer as it appears to be broken straight out of the box. It states that you can use it wet or dry but I have only used it on dry skin and hair. It is convenient and easy to carry along with you while traveling. I just wish that it gave me a closer shave and the attachments worked better with the groomer.Karla99

I used to have the old series of this trimmer that works with battery for more than 3 years before it quit. I bought this one based on my previous experience.. I'm definitely not the blessed ppl with hair. I have just enough as normal Asian ladies 😁 I only use this trimmer to trim my bikini area and armpit. I would say I'm little bit surprised how this upgraded version not really work better than my old trimmer. I really honestly surprised I have to take off the safety trim guide to make it work. I never had to do that with my old Remington bikini trimmer. I would say, if you wish to trim your body hair, this is not the one you want. You will get disappointed. This is a really nice set. It comes with every adaptor you could need, it also has an adjustable clipper blade that is three different lengths on one piece. And honestlyI think that is my favorite part or is it that this thing is WATERPROOF!?! WHAT??? Yes, you can take this thing in the shower!! I seriously love that. It's also really quiet compared to others I've used before and that is really important. It comes with a cute little zipper bag to hold all of your accessories in and it runs on a rechargeable battery. You just plug it into the wall to recharge when it gets low. Overall, I genuinely love this trimmer. It's super cute, I love the color and it came with a bonus. I don't think you could ask for much more. Great product!!! Love this!! I get razor burn really easily so I tend to be wary when choosing a razor or a grooming kit. I use this to groom my bikini line and it works wonders no razor burn very smooth no shaving cream needed although I use a shaving oil before I use this just to be on the safe side no razor burn which is the best partkay.p

The ConAir Ear Nose trimmer that I bought on Amazon does the job!!! It cuts the hairs close and without any discomfort. Much better than other hair trimmers that I have bought.Mark 65

This is one of the biggest failures I purchased. After checking so many reviews, I decided to buy this epilator, not from Amazon, but from a different website. BUT I had to come here and share my thoughts. I’ve been epilating my body for 15 years, so I guess I’m “educated” enough to share my experience.

1. The 3 speeds are USELESS. It doesn’t pull out from the root, it SHAVES!! That defeats the purpose of an epilator.
2. The large head does nothing. I go over the same area again and again and my hair is still there!
3. Doesn’t catch the small hair – just the longer one (again, useless!)
4. The adjustable head hurts your skin – it “catches” your skin from time to time while using it. It HURTS and leaves MARKS on your skin.
5. The battery life is too short. If you’re really “hairy”, one charge won’t do it.
6. I’ve never had ingrown hair from my previous epilators, well I have them now from this one.

Do NOT BUY THIS useless device. I guarantee it’s a man that designed this device, cause no woman would approve such junk.Christine S
