Upon making the decision to upgrade my outlets I got a GE grounding safety outlet with internal shutters to prevent inserting things other than plugs to increase the safety of not only my children but the children in my care. It is easy to install and the electrical plugs fit in snugly so they do not fall out of the outlet. Took me a while to get it working right. Thought I wired it exactly like the one I took out the light was green but no power. Looked it up on my phone and one guy said switch the wires not hot and neutral but take the bottom hots and put them on top and switch top to bottom. Used it to power up heater in the greenhouse in winter time. Never tripped, never overloaded, suddenly red light started flashing. I removed it and tested in the house without load – same thing. Test-Reset didn't help. I have several other GFCI's in the house, different brands. They worked for 10+ years without issues. This one definitely has problem with internal circuitry. I purchased 3 of these and tried to install them today. I had 2 of them on the same wiring circuit and as soon as I tried to turn on the breaker, the breaker blew. Again and again. I thought I had wired them in wrong but really there is no way to do that. So, I pulled them out and replaced them with the old plugs and everything was fine. There must have been a short somewhere in the plugs that caused the breaker to continually trip. These are junk and I wouldn't buy them again. In fact, there were more expensive USB plugs offered by Lowes and I thought that the cheaper ones would work the same. Boy was I wrong. This wall outlet could not be more perfect. Today people are all about electronics and my household in no exception. We needed a place to plug in all our electronics in a hurry. We used ours in the kitchen. Hubby said it was fairly simple to install, just remember to turn off all electric before installation lol. We have an older house, built in the 70s, so the outlets are few and far between. We love this outlet. Before, 2 chargers would monopolize the entire outlet, but with this unit we can simply plug in 2 USB cables while the main outlets are used by whatever else we need to have plugged in. It's just made keeping things charged much more convenient. I was not the person who installed it, but I was told by the installer that it was quick and easy. This works fine and Power Delivery works too (yay!) But Leviton could do so much better. For example, it makes no sense that the USB-C model should interfere with the AC outlets just as much as the larger USB-A model. I was hoping this would be my last built-in charger for a while, but obviously there is still some room for improvement. This is an excellent product to convert a dual GFI outlet to a single switched GFI outlet. I use it to control my plug-in outdoor fan on my covered porch. Instead of having to unplug the fan, I just use the switch. I'm a fan of reducing the number of products in the household by consolidating. This product combined an extension cord, night light, and phone charger into one. As a parent, we need night lights to help our kids feel safe. However, I don't want me kids getting tangled in all the wires. This wall power allows for the products to stay in one place especially with the stand cell phone/ tablet stand. Now I don't need to bring over another night stand to hold up the device. Also, I've been wanting to swap out a few outlets to have usb ports but I don't want to hire an electrician to do so or accidentally shock myself. I got the Bell Howell wall power and I must say it makes getting ready so much easier. With 5 outlets I can plug my blower dryer and straightener in at the same time all while charging my phone. I really wanted to switch out some of outlets in our house with these. So many times I misplace my charging adapters or they end up being too bulky for other adapter to fit the same outlet.
