The ABH Modern Renaissance palette was a cult favorite for a reason. I remember hearing all the hype and putting off buying it, but ever since I did it’s been a staple in my makeup routine ever since. These shadows are quality, and so is the palette itself. The palette is sturdy, not flimsy. The cover and overall design is beautiful. The shades are labeled clearly with recessed lettering so it won’t simply wipe away with time. Each pan has a substantial amount of product (after almost 2 years of regular use Ive only hit pan on the matte cream shade that I essentially always use as a base). It also comes with a quality dual ended brush and built in mirror. The palette features an array of warm toned shadows in matte, metallic, and glitter finishes. I find it incredibly versatile in terms of being able to easily create daytime looks as well as more dramatic or creative looks. The shadows themselves are incredibly easy to work with – they blend seamlessly and I rarely experience fallout. This palette is a go to for me, just like it is for many others. If warm toned shadows are your thing and you haven’t added this palette to your collection yet, I highly recommend!kelly.r
Nice colour story, but it's the only palette from ABH which I don't touch at all. When I saw it for the first time, I was immediately caught by cool-toned browns and silvery-lavender metallics (top row of shades). They swatched smooth and bright on my skin, so I took this palette immediately and couldn't wait to try it. And I was disappointed, because this palette has a really bad colour payoff. It took me SO LONG to achieve a deep brown colour, so I definitely wouldn't recommend it for the bold evening makeups. Moreover, I don't know how that is possible, but metallics looking stunning on my arm or finger, absolutely don't want to transfer on my eyelid. They're dimmed, barely visible on my eyes and I feel like they start to fade after a while, so I had to re-apply them a few times to take a picture. I assume the reason is their dryness, so they don't stick well to the eyelids and fall down as time goes by. The same with mattes from the top row: they're too dry to stick and not pigmented enough. What surprised me positively was the bottom row, especially orange and red. They're just stunning, easy to work with and super pigmented. The problem is, that I barely wear such colours (maybe I should though). To sum up, if you prefer super nude shades and a bit of shine for everyday looks then it may work well for you (although I still think you may find much better quality in other ABH palettes). But for the lovers of bold eye looks like me, it's a no go.anastasia.a
The Good: I truly appreciate the beauty of this palette, the colors are stunning and unique in their own right. When this palette first came out, there was really nothing quite like it on the market… simply put this was (and maybe still is) the go-to warm and vibrantly cherry colored palette that everyone reached for. I still reach for this palette from time to time because of the few wonderfully unique shades it offers and I've even packed this for light traveling from time-to-time (which is when I know a product is at the least, solid). Most of the color are very nicely blendable on the lid and are usually quite accurate on the skin as they are appear the palette (no color surprises). Something about this gorgeous pink palette from ABH will forever hold a special place in my heart, I remember being excited for it's release and the pure joy I felt when it finally arrived at my door. Overall, a very good palette. The Bad: Here comes the hard part… As much as I love this palette I simply have to admit there are better things out there at least in the present day. Although this was truly the trail blazer for this color-scheme palette now there are so many releases that mirror and surpass this type of shade profile. If I'm being honest with myself, I think a big part of my joy from this palette comes from it's nostalgia factor. The Ugly/Honest: Yes, the palette is good, yes it's a cult-classic, yes the shades are beautiful… but the fall out on this palette is downright disrespectful to my bathroom vanity and sink. Seriously, especially the sparkly shades are just fall-out-city. I already know better and apply all the shimmery shades with a flat and wet brush. The mattes are also super powdery and inconsistent. For example, the shades that lean brown in this palette are very solid and tend to have less fallout in my experiences. I love this bronzer. It is my absolute favorite out there. I try to steer clear of powders as I start to get fine lines, but this never accentuates any texture on my face. It seems to have a matte texture but when you swatch it and really build it up, you can see that there is the slightest of sheens. It doesn’t show up upon application, but I suspect that light sheen helps to keep the skin from looking matte and heavy. It is matte powder, absolutely no shimmer! But still, a skin-like sheen. I love wearing this alone on my face or even as an eyeshadow. It isn’t orangey at all. It leans warm but in a way that still manages to look neutral. I purchased this product on a whim.. I decided I wanted to stop using liquids for bronzers and get into powders so I opted for another brand and hated it. I then saw this product on sale through my Sephora app and decided what did I have to lose. Here’s the truth: I LOVE This bronzer. The white gold has a beautiful shimmer that blends nicely to create a lovely shade that is complimentary to even light skin tones. The #LipInjectionLipGloss is called “Christmas Cocoa” and looks like a dark brown.. but it is somewhat sheer and can be lightened—or darkened—to your preferred shade. For being a Makeup By Mario product I would expect a 60 dollar eyeshadow pallet of this small size to be of good quality and condition. Reading reviews I had seen mixed reactions, some regarding the dirty condition the brand new pallet came in. Regardless of the few negative reviews I bit the bullet and bought the pallet. As you can see, the pallet comes dusted/smudged in eyeshadow fallout or pigment all on the outside of the pallet and the black cardboard the pallet comes packaged in. The inside of the pallet was full of fallout, and multiple pans of shadow are wiggling and falling out! This is not professional quality, maybe the batch of shadows being sold are slightly faulty or get damaged in shipping, but from what I’ve seen this production issue has been going on for months. I’m personally willing to overlook the issue if the performance of the shadow impresses me; if not I’ll be returning. I love Makeup by Mario but am not thrilled with this palette. I tried various application methods (finger, brush, even a sponge tip since sometimes sparkle shades work well with them), both wet and dry, and I am not impressed. It’s not horrible, but it’s not great. I found the neutrals applied better than the richer color shades, but good neutrals are easy to find. I wish the teal and green shades were better because those were the selling points for me. Many colors were hard to pick up and they applied uneven. I’ve had worse, but overall I don’t think this is worth it. It's too bad, because it’s a good size and has a nice color variety. I absolutely love the matte palette so I was pretty disappointed with this. For metallics and shimmers, I will stick to Natasha Denona and Pat McGrath. Listen, I am normally a shimmer and glitter girl. But sometimes that can be a bit much, especially at work (for my profession). I've never owned a palette of just matte shadows before. This is a banger! It has helped me improve my placement to accentuate my eyes best. I used this without a primer, and it lasted all day in 90 degree weather. And I didn't even have to pack on shadow with I can just imagine how it can pop even more with primer. Now I understand when MUAs say you need one good palette of just mattes. It has a lot of range: from "no make-up" make-up, to soft glam and smoky eye. I still love me some shimmer, but I can do some gorgeous eye looks with or without the bells and whistles. I was so pleasantly surprised by this product. I got it as a bonus to my order. I don't use exclusively Bobbi Brown make up, and I'm very fussy about my eyeshadow. It seems like most, even top brands, don't have the colour saturation, so they go on with a really weak colour. These were fabulous. Also, In my experience it's really hard to find these neutral warm gold tones that aren't too flat or are only made for going out at night. This is a lovely palette. I have been using it everyday for work. The colours are blendable and very soft and neutral. I bought the palette mainly for the purple shade – Amethyst night. A little dissappointed that is doesn't look like the arm swatches in the photo – it's darker and so the satin shimmer is harder to see. I dropped a star purely for that reason but other than that am really happy with the palette. Also love that it is cardboard palette rather than plastic. I originally bought the palette because I was looking for a good nude palette for tan/olive skin types that was also on the portable side, and I heard a lot of good things about Juvia's Place. Unfortunately I have mixed thoughts about his palette. The pan size is slightly larger than the average palette pan size (which is more for your money) and shadows swatched well, but they didn't apply the same. The mattes barely showed up on my eyes (ironically that's what I was looking for in my nude palette) and weren't pigmented, but can be built up. They also acted as good transition colors to use as a base. The darkest matte can be used to create some depth (not a lot) when built up. However, the shimmers were so pressed into the palette that I could barely get any shadow on my brush. In the end, I had to use a finger application in order to apply the shimmers, which still wasn't pigmented. I ended up having to dig into the pan with my finger multiple in order to get anything to show up on my lids. Only the peach-toned shimmer was able to be built up to become a good inner corner highlighter. The other shimmers barely showed up.Kristin

The luxe eyeshadow caught my eye during the recent sale of 2019. I purchased moonstone and liquid mercury. Moonstone was just gorgeous but liquid mercury looked like a lot of the grayish eye shadow I have. I didn't notice in the description that it was a shimmer and not a high sparkle. I exchanged it for melting point. Melting point and moonstone are just the most beautiful eye shadows I own. And I own only high end shadows including several well loved Bobbi Browns. The colors and shine are beyond beautiful. I use them on the mobile eyelid, as a under the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye. I use a darker shadow on the outer corner of the eye and in the crease to deepen the look. But if you just went sparkle it would look beautiful too. It is described as metallic, but it is not harsh, just gorgeous. I didn't realize how beautiful the colors and sparkle were are until I got them in my hands.downtothree
I don't wear a lot of makeup but I do like eyeshadow that has a nice glow while adding a little sparkle and dimension. This (Liquid Mercury) does that. It is a mauve/dark Taupe color with a tiny bit of shimmer (not that ridiculous glitter). If you wear an eye shadow base and apply this with a brush it will go on lighter and with an even coverage. If you apply with a finger or without base it is very dark and smudgy. I guess you can also build own it either way. Very versatile and while I wouldn't say this is the finest shadow ever used, its good. For comparison purposes, My MAC All That Glitters is the type of color I love, but the texture of Dior 5 palettes and Chantecaille singles is what I crave. This one is somewhere in the middle.ICEgirl

I received the Almay Shadow Squad Eye Shadow from the Walmart Spark Reviewer program in exchange for my thoughts and opinions on this product. I am reviewing the eyeshadow color they call, “Ambition”. When I first opened the compact, I was worried about the color. It looked very brownish. Once I applied to my eyelids, it looked different on the skin then in the compact. Instead of being shades of browns it appeared it was different shades of purples. The Quad is not as large as I had expected considering four colors were in it. The height and length are the same as a AA battery. No applicator came with the eyeshadow compact, so you will have to get one of your own. I was not happy about that since I didn’t have one on hand. When it came time to apply the eye shadow it went on very smoothly. The colored lasted throughout the day. I had no creasing in the center of your eye lid. I liked the four colors that came in the compact. They complimented one another and allowed for mixing and matching the colors as the time of day (lighting) called for. Even if you plan to use all four colors at once, the different shades will look great for shading etc. I’m very please with this product and would highly recommend to others.ltlebear06
Bought this on a whim, I'm usually a brand buyer but thought the shades were pretty and it was only a few bucks. I bought it in Ambition and World is My Oyster. I'm fair, with brown hair and hazel eyes, I always gravitate to nude or taupe or light brown shades of eye makeup and lipgloss and thought this would work. I like the World is my Oyster palette way better, the Ambition shades are beautiful in the case but I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror at work while wearing it and thought I looked like I had serious shadows above both eyes. Won't be wearing that one again. The World is My Oyster shades are pretty and much better for me than Ambition, although it's very light. overall they're both fairly non descript and I wouldn't buy them again. They wear off easily and aren't very pigmented. I'll be sticking to Urban Decay (best single eye shadows ever) and Bare Minerals Glimpses (also very good, but a bit messy when applying). Both a a bit pricier but are well worth it, they look great and last ALL DAY.Banker Girl

I bought this pallette 2 months ago because I decided to start doing the nude look because it looks great on everyone right lol? Well I loved the colors and the texture and decided as soon as I got home at midnight to play around with it because that's what us girls do. I put on my eye shadow primer and went to town. I loved the look of the light colors and decided to go from a dark lid to a light under brow an man oh man. The dark colors are AMAZING the light colors barely showed up so I kept caking it on thicker an thicker and still nothing. By this point I was pretty upset and figured I was doing something wrong, note it was late and I was exhausted 😩. Well I awoke the following morning an decided too attempt again maybe the sleep deprivation was my issue lol, an too my suprise it wasn't. Sadly I wont recommend this if you love light nudes but the darks were amazing. C'mon L.A. colors get it together. Geez.ashley.m
I will preface this review by stating, you must prime your eyes before applying for maximum pigmentation I love how smoothly this product applies, it's soft and very gentle to your skin. It's a true matte, no glitter to worry about here! I do feel like two of the black pans are too similar though, and that the black isn't very intense; I remedy that by using aloe as a primer, then smudging a bit of eyeliner and blending it out and applying the product over. 4 stars for less intense black pigment, but 5 for quality. Would 100% recommend as a starter pallet for those interested in makeup.kimberly.v

This palette comes with only 5 shades that relate to the coral and orange family. All are matte shades and I thought I would get more use out of this palette but I didn't. These are some of the tones I'm into right now but I would use this maybe twice and then forget about it. I would always have to take out another palette because I'm a shimmer girl to heart and I would use that palette instead of THIS one . Beautiful colors and the packaging is nice. [brand:dose-of-colors] The 2 first shades are a little bit too similar for me. One is just a little bit warmer. The second shade called brassy lacked pigmentation. The last shade called oh soooo Sassy is patchy and a bit hard to blend onto the eyes. The other 3 shades have good pigmentation and easy to blend. Overall it's a nice palate but would I purchase it for it's original price? No, Too expensive. Would I wait for a sale and purchase this palate? Only if you're into corals, oranges, and mattes. If you’re a lover of warm-toned browns this is a great palette to consider adding to your collection. I love how compact the packaging is and you get a really good amount of product in each eyeshadow pan. Every colour is very pigmented and soft which is great but it was a bit difficult to work with at first – particularly the shades ‘DESERTED’ AND ‘OUTDOORSY’ because of how soft they are. When I started using it I was swirling my brush a couple of times in the pan (that’s how I usually pick up eyeshadows which works for me with other products) but I would advise you DON’T do that as you get too much product on the brush and even after tapping off a lot of excess you end up involuntarily blending way too high as you don’t have a lot of control over where it spreads. Also, it feels like you're wasting so much product by needing to tap off so much! So, my favourite way to apply it is to just tap your blending brush into the eyeshadow ONCE and then tap of the excess once. This means you’re not wasting any eyeshadow by kicking up a load of product in the palette or needing to tap off a ton of excess from the brush. Therefore, it applies a nice amount of product and you have control of where you want to put it and can increase the intensity without it looking messy – which is easy due to how pigmented they all are! Just something to keep in mind if you want to buy this but now I’ve found the best way to apply it the shade ‘DESERTED’ is my new favourite transition shade, and the brush that comes with it is the PERFECT lower lash line brush! First of all, these colors are very muted and probably won't compliment darker skin tones unfortunately, so one of the original series with brighter shades would be a suitable pick. #13 is a cool toned palette, but it's not so cool that it'd look strange on warm tones. The shades are smooth and decently pigmented for a K-beauty eyeshadow formula, and the glitters are so so pretty – however the one in the top row is kinda dark? It looks speckle-y over a light base, so I tend to use that one at night with darker shades. The packaging is also sleek and sophisticated – I prefer this to the original series, but the amount of product you get in the new aespa palettes is only 6 grams. The brush is also pretty meh but it's not horrible. Having said all that, I'm still really satisfied with #13 and might have already bought #11 as well (which suits with both warm and cool tones).DN
Just the perfect springtime palette with the choice between colors for a peachy or rosy look. it has 5 matte, 3 shimmer and 2 glitters. It is an all-purpose palette aside from missing a brow shade, but that doesn't matter because it's still perfect. You have a bright shimmer for aegyosal and another shade to outline it, and even a dark shade to blend out your eyeliner, which AB palettes sometimes lack. It blends so well and the glitter/shimmer is so pretty esp because it stays in place. All the colors work well together so you can mix and match for your mood. It comes with a nice brush but fingers work too, the bristles cause a bit of fallout in some shades. And there is a discreet little mirror under the brush compartment. I've been in search for an everyday palette for a while now and came across the clio line. I got the walking on the cosy alley palette as it had a lot of shades I was looking for and honestly it's all I use now for my everyday makeup look. The shades are so soft and beautiful, build and blend very well and is great for a more "natural look" which is what I prefer. There's also one sparkly shade called afternoon coffee which is great for a day or evening look. I have quite a pale complexion so these shades work very well for me but I'm not sure how they would fare on you if you have a darker skin toneSara

This has been a favorite of mine for a few years now. It has a perfect tint that evens skin tone on the entire lid. I have light/medium skin tone. If I choose to wear eyeshadow, it and eyeliner stay put all day. It also has the perfect lightweight consistency that does not get dry or cakey on my 54 year old skin. I hope this never gets discontinued.

This idea is a good one, our eyelids lightened and our general look brightened with a product that looks natural on the face, but the contents seem dried out. I doubt it will last very long. Also more info on the shades would be helpful. I would be tempted to try the line’s foundation, but there is little guidance regarding those shades either. So why bother? I ask myself. The company or the vendors would help us consumers if a range of color shades was added, as sometimes is found for lipsticks, say, and perhaps with a few words of description, such as best for very light complexions with pink tones or for a medium, tanned look or for black complexions leaning toward cappuccino.Buying skin products online is very tricky and should be accommodated more by the brands and, when possible, the vendors. So let's start with this product, Beebeauty (UK) eyeshadow palette is not listed. The name is Barbarella. I got it in my for this month and I love it! I'm super impressed with everything! The color story (boys names for color) and the colors are awesome! They're mostly shimmer but there are some matte colors. As you can see they're pretty neutral with the exception of a couple. They're very creamy and pigmented with ZERO fallout! That's right! Very buildable and blendable. I'd love to try more of these palettes in some bolder colors but I like the look I created today. I miss the old Physicians Formula baked wet/dry shadows. They were the best. I liked the colors in this palette and some looked similar to my fave old baked shadow palette. The shadows are smooth, creamy, not bad with fallout, and buildable and blendable. Not as good as the old beloved baked shadows, but pretty nice and at a great price!Gabrielle
The palette unfortunately was never shipped to Canada (or at least my province). Therefore, I had to purchase it online in USD. Although much more expensive, it was worth the wait as the whole collection was discontinued about a week after I purchased. These eyeshadow colors are absolutely beyond beautiful and the pigment is just awesome as it really shows up on your eyes which makes them stand out so well. These have been around for ages and you’ve probably all heard enough about them, but they’re some of the only drugstore shadows I have that I actually love. 💎Each shadow has a near creamy feel, with a slight emollience so they are not at all gritty. When you dip your finger or brush into the pot, you can pick up some chunks of shadow, but because of their sophisticated texture they smooth out very easily. I prefer to apply these with my pinky finger and blend lightly at the edges. I never wear shadow without primer so I cannot speak to their lasting power on their own through vast experience, but the ONE time I used them on their own they still creased on my oily lids. With primer they last all day and look freshly applied until I take them off. 💎Every shade I’ve ever owned of these has performed beautifully and consistently, although I cannot speak to all the shades. These three that I have are excellent, and I regularly use them for quick, one shadow looks but they are absolutely versatile and layer well on top of one another. They even later lovely on top of matte shadows, which is usually something that’s uncommon in my experience with other shimmers! ✅Highly recommend, and I would repurchase, however as you can see there is a TON of product left in each pot and I’ve had these all for a few years. I really love wearing blues on my brown eyes. I never tried anything from Juvia, but am really impressed with the pigmentation. At first when i applied it looked a bit too intense on my lighter medium skin but i tried applying with my fingers and got a softer but still dramatic application. Really love the shimmery finishes and there is no fault out, very good quality. I definitely want to try more of the palettes.Jen7

I generally enjoy JP palettes and I was excited that they were going to release a palette that contained pastels that would suit deeper skintones. Pastels are notoriously difficult to manufacture as another post had mentioned, but unfortunately the pigmentation isn't just where the palette falters. The shimmers are beautiful, shifty duochromes, however these shimmers don't adhere without a glitter base, but even then, the fallout is excessive, and I generally don't care about fallout. There are fewer mattes than pastels and I found the mattes to be sheer, dry and unusable without the aid of another palette. Overall, this was one of the few JP palettes that have disappointed me, and while I applaud them for thinking outside of the box, the formula is difficult to work with and the color story excludes a lot of people, unfortunately.Hunnie
I absolutely love this pallet. I love being able to have sparkly looking toppers. These are not traditional chunky sparkles. Think more Pat McGrath special shades. This palettes formula is better than the wahala. I personally hate chunky glitter but these are more of the juvias glitter that we know and love. Buildable or you can wear them subtle. I feel like this should have come out around spring/ Easter. But it's cute. I do recommend. Using the correct tools will help form your solid opinion on this palette. Worth every penny.Mya S
