Over the years, Ive tried several after shave lotions. Most are rather generic and only mediocre at best. This product was discovered 2 years ago and I actually seek it out when purchasing after shave. Great texture, feel and smell. I really like the face wash. I used to scrub my face with all sorts of cleansers and wash cloths. I don't use a face cloth anymore and it seems my face is much softer and clean. Honestly, it's pretty important to me to use stuff that are packaged with "MEN" on the label. The simple fact is I'm not likely to keep it on the counter, in the shower or anywhere handy for use– if something looks girly. I definitely wouldn't use it in front of my girlfriend or even my friends for that matter. Smell is also very important to me. I am very paranoid I smell like a girl when using "beauty" or grooming skincare products. I like to use a body wash that has a short lasting "boyfriend just out the shower" smell and hit himself with a few sprays Versace cologue in the AM, done. So, I don't need my face wash or anything else to give off any conflicting aromas. So this smell free cleanser is optimal for me. My basic view towards skincare for myself is: I want the best skin possible in the smallest amount of time. I like products and systems that are "all in one" and easy to use. I don't need to know what makes them work or how to pronounce every ingredient or even care why I need to wear sunblock everyday. I have no problem with Paula telling me what to do, giving me products that are acceptable for this use and going on about my day! GOOD NEWS: THIS WHOLE LINE HAS WHAT PAULA WANTS YOU TO USE TO KEEP SKIN HEALTHY AND MEETS ALL MY NEEDS FOR PERFORMANCE!!! This product and the entire men's line is perfect for me. It's also nice knowing that more information about the ingredients are easily available on the website if I so choose to want to get into more details. I also like the option that if I do ever wish to do more with my skin that there are other products in the brand I could add without changing my core routine! Like this product very much. Like this packaging very little. First time I ordered, the lid broke. Second time, lid remains intact, but water gathers in it. The bottle size is so small. Would love it in a 500mL bottle with a pump. Then everyone in my household could use it readily. I also think that that would be a more efficient use of plastic packaging. Last week I ordered a face wash and a tonic cleaner. I was super excited to try them out. Yesterday I got the package. As soon I opened the package, a bunch of ants came out of it. I was like, "I didn't paid for the ants". LOL. But on a serious note, I have never got a package with insects inside of them. I don't know how that happened, but they should have been careful about that. The ants weren't like normal ants. They were big. I don't know whether they sent me an old warehouse package. I switched from a physical exfoliant (scrub) to this chemical exfoliant (benzoyl peroxide). This product is much more gentle on the skin and still leaves my skin feeling soft right away. Over time, I have noticed much less breakouts/acne with this product! No more harsh scrub tearing up my skin, so it looks even more hydrated and glowy! I have combination skin, I get oily in my T-zone and have small patches of eczema around my eyes and mouth. This product works to break up the acne-causing oil without irritating or drying out my eczema at all! I use it in the shower every few days. I like to work the product into a foam on my hands to activate it, then apply it to my face and neck. I let the benzoyl peroxide sit for a minute so it can really work its magic. I've used the classic CeraVe foaming cleanser/moisturizer/retinol serum/night cream for years. I did a course of strong meds a year and a half ago and it cleared my skin completely. After full-time mask wearing started up again, my acne came back a bit so I decided to try this cleanser after having such good experiences with all their other products. It cleared my skin after only a few days! But be careful – I developed a painful itchy rash around my lips and mouth that took steroids to clear up because of how much this cleanser irritated that area of my face. I've now cut down use from every morning and night to just once every other morning and I avoid my eyes and mouth with it. It works wonders, but it's very irritating on sensitive areas so wash with caution!Sarah

Great product! Benzoyl peroxide is perfect for hormonal/cystic acne — the red, inflamed, under the surface kind. I had been using salicylic acid for a while and didn’t understand why my acne was not clearing. Until my dermatologist informed me that SA is better for whitehead & blackhead type of acne (which I did not have). 4% benzoyl peroxide is a great amount if you’re just introducing benzoyl peroxide to the skin. I used at night for a week and have now transitioned to using it day and night since my skin tolerated it well. My breakouts have completely stopped and lingering breakouts have cleared dramatically! Great product that I use morning and night and get a refreshing clean on my face from using it. I could not give it the '5' I might have liked to because Kiehl's shipping is always inferior. The latest shipment, the person who packed the order did not have a lock-clip on the pump of one of the products and some of the face wash leaked out and into the bottom of the shipping carton. As a person who had been searching for the "perfect cleanser" for years, I realized a few things. Every company is going to have some new ingredient, some new benefit, some fancy way of describing their product… but at the end of the day, you just need a good face wash. It's worth it to spend a little more to get those key ingredients you don't always get in drug store face washes. This cleanser has become the one I stuck with because it has caffeine for aging skin, Vitamin E because that's basically an essential, and it defends against pollution. The menthol wakes you up and wakes your skin up to get rid of dullness. This face wash is simple enough and effective enough that it even had me buying the 1 Liter (which lasts a year might I add). So stop searching, use this. Only thing I wish is that it were a little thicker to really feel it going on your skin.thebigkahuna

Kiehl's would not let me post this review on their website, so it just goes to show you how they filter out the negative reviews. I received a travel size in one of those birch box things and used it every now and then and loved how it lathered and felt after washing my face so I decided to get a larger bottle when I eventually ran out. I started using this everyday and it destroyed my face. I started getting red bumps on my cheek, my acne hadn't been that bad since high school. I ended up throwing it in the trash. Once I started using Cerave products my skin cleared up in a week or so. This stuff is so expensive compared to your typical skincare brands and didn't work well for me at all, very disappointed.EricJ

This cleanser is perfect. Love how it smells, very refreshing. Very inexpensive and last a long time. Yes, I am a man and I have always used skin care. It started when I was young and then later when married, my wife worked for various skin care companies so I was always supplied with skin care. She worked for several high end (expensive) companies and we always received many itms for free so, why not? Anyway, after my divorce and now without my high end skin care “dealer” I had to fend for myself. I have tried them all and to be honest, there is no reason to spend that kind of money on any of it. Neutrogena is just as good, maybe even better than all those expensive brands. I do wish Neutrogena would expand their men’s line though. Not that Everything has to say “For Men” on it to use but I think some men would prefer that. The men’s products state they have the same ingredients but they seem to be formulated slightly different. Different texture, sheen etc. They should add eye care, body care, maybe even hair products. I am reviewing the Neutrogena Men Oil-Free Invigorating Foaming Face Wash. When I heard the word " invigorating " in the title I was excited to try it because this usually means that its going to make my skin feel " minty fresh " and tingly. The face wash itself is a light blue and like a thin gel consistency. I washed my hands first then applied the amount that would equal about two quarters to my hands (a pretty generous amount) I rubbed my hands together and applied to my face and rubbed in well. I felt like it cleaned my face well and it was a very refreshing feeling as I was washing my face but it didn't seem to foam at all so I'm not quite sure why it is considered a foaming face wash. I was not concerned about if it foamed or not though. I rinsed my face and let it air dry since my hand towel was in the wash. My face felt very slightly tingly / " minty " during the washing and while my face was drying but not after that. I have used other Neutrogena face washes that gave my skin more of a tingle so I was slightly disappointed in the tingle department but it worked good overall. The scent was fresh and clean and also very masculine. I highly recommend it if the foaming or tingling is not important to you but you want a manly smelling face wash that makes your skin feel clean.Shannon

Great everyday cleanser. Good for basic face cleaning without all the gimmicks. Cleans easily and makes my face feel super pure without being dry. I would compare it to their version of a dermatologist recommended cleanser like Cetaphil or Neutrogena but this one is way better! It doesn't bother me at all since it is allergy-tested and fragrance-free. That is one of the big pulls I have to Clinique. The Oil Control Face Wash has been reformulated earlier on in 2020 — one of the biggest differences is that the ingredient menthol has been removed. This can be confirmed in the updated ingredient listing for this product as well as speaking directly with a Clinique representative both online and in their New York offices — which is exactly what I did in November of 2020. While I'm in favor of removing menthol, Clinique is still sending out the older versions of this item with that ingredient in it. My most recent order confirms this as well. I'm quite anxious to try this updated version and after calling Clinique directly, as well as several Clinique counters, nobody has a clue as to when the updated version will actually be the one a customer receives when placing an order. I started using the Ordinary products about 4 months ago and they completely changed my skin, they helped more than anything I had ever tried before. Everyone commented on how amazing my skin looked. The flaky dryness disappeared, I had less blackheads and my hormones didn't affect my skin as much. I recently brought this in a large size as well as the moisturiser and I don't know if it is me or something is different with the product, but my skin is back to flakey and dry. I never had any sensitivity issues with the products, but now the cleanser feels like it burns, my skin feels sore and the products don't feel like they are working. I also feel like the moisturiser burns, and it was my favourite product ever, so im gutted. My skin hurts all day. I don't know if I'm meant to push through and it's some form of purge my skin is doing or if out of nowhere my skin has decided the products no longer work? People are still commenting that my skin is glowing for the most part if they aren't to close to my forehead, but the cleanser isn't meant to hurt right? Can you get a sensitivity to something out of nowhere? I would definitely tell people to try these products as when they work for you it's fantastic, I think the issue is me at this point which sucks.Max

I love this stuff so much I started enjoying double-cleansing again after taking a year's hiatus. I've been double-cleansing for YEARS – before it was really a "thing" in the beauty world – and I've used everything from straight up carrier oils to cleansing balms. Though, I stopped double-cleansing because I felt it a pain in the butt to have to over-rinse to remove residue or oiliness, which would cause my dry skin to become even dryer and tight… and that's why this is the best. The creamy product turns to silky emollient upon application, and rinses away like nothing. It removes even my most stubborn makeup effortlessly and within seconds, and without needing to scrub hard or for long. Meaning, this added step hardly feels like an additional step in my multi-step skincare routine. For best results: I do recommend applying on dry skin, and gradually apply wet fingers to the eye area to remove makeup, and rinse with a cloth and water… Not just water alone. I've read reviews complaining about leftover mascara residue — but I just don't understand it. The first time I used this I was floored at how it removed ALL traces of my makeup with such ease. I could've carried on without double-cleansing. And it's never let me down since. It even seems to be helping with my pores and sebaceous filaments. Though it's not an instant fix. Overall, it's effective, hydrating, gentle, easy-to-use. I'm not sure what more one could want. My biggest gripe is that the smaller bottle doesn't last long, as sometimes you need a little more product than you'd think, but for the price, I can't really complain. Cleansers aren't a 1 size fits all, but I fell in love with this brand after trying their zinc serum & peeling masks (which, paired with my 'clean & clear gel cleanser,' completely fixed my oil & texture problem!), so I was excited to give this a try too. However, I suppose this isn't for people who, like me, are recommended to using "gel-like consistency" for their dry skin [via their esthetician]. After immediate use of this product, my forehead still felt clogged and textured, and oil production was visible on my nose just seconds after. I woke up feeling especially congested, and chose to give this product a 2nd try – this time doubling the amount, and taking more time heating it up and massaging it in. *This was also on my 'ordinary AHA/BHA exfoliation mask morning', so I was curious if that would make a positive difference. However, the results were the same, even with the mask that I swear by. I will be going back to my old drug store cleanser and just enjoying pairing it with the Ordinary serums and masks instead. **The BENEFIT however: was that on the small dermatitis patches I'd developed from wearing/reusing n95 masks 8 hours long every day, are now A LOT less flakier. I'm not sure if it's thanks to this cleanser, or the +HA Ordinary moisturizer, but I will keep this regime only for the perioral area until it's fully treated, and my drug store cleanser for the rest. I love this face wash even though it was just an experiment. Sometimes foaming washes are iffy when it comes to the feeling afterwards yet this one is fantastic. It's not dry, itchy, or scrubby clean feeling. I will probably buy this again with the improvement of my face with my acne and redness. I must add that when I use my electric facial brush it seems like it works a lot better! However, when using the brush outside of the shower it is hard to foam because it seems to dry on face so you must apply a lot of water.sempie

A cult classic in Japan, I'm glad to try this face wash! It foams and emulsifies easily, and there's a lot in the tube. A small amount goes a long way. I really don't like cleansers and face washes that dry out the skin, and some J-beauty washes can do that. This one is fine provided I rinse really well (I use it last, after my make up cleansers). I actually was lucky to be a part of the pop-up event in Dallas Northpark a few weeks ago (simple because I saw everyone being handed free popsicles – !Lol) I wasn't sure what was happening but a very nice rep walked me through the experience and I was sold almost immediately. The skin care brand that I was using prior was acquired by another conglomerate and their composition of their products changed vastly (I could not understand why I was breaking out again after I thought I had found "the one"). Anyway – the rep recommended products based on my needs and I did hesitate initially because I too work sales and I know a good pitch when I hear one! To preface, I have fair skin that is pretty sensitive and prone to dryness and occasional hormonal acne. My go to cleansers are Dermologica Daily Microfoliant and Vanicream gentle face wash. Decided to add this product to my rotation after dealing with a couple of stubborn hormonal/maskne breakouts and being recommended this brand by a friend. Due to the high % of salicylic acid, i only used it 2-3 times a week. After about a month, I began to suffer from some of the worst breakouts i have EVER experienced in my life on my temples, cheeks and chin which i am just now starting to recover from after 6 weeks. I think the mix of salicylic acid and tea tree oil is way too irritating and i would not recommend it to anyone that has sensitive skin.Sarah

I received this cleanser complimentary from Sweet Chef in exchange for my honest reviews. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, and I experience flares that affect my skin due to having autoimmune disorders. This cleanser works for my skin type, but causes some slight dryness if I don't moisturize enough after using it (hence 4/5 stars). I generally use Purito gentle cleanser but have been able to use the Sweet Chef cleanser in its place a few times a week. I even noticed some purging in the blackheads on my nose after a few uses. I also like this cleanser to help remove makeup–I don't wear it very often, but when I do I use an oil cleanser (DHC) and then now follow with the Sweet Chef cleanser. It works great! Definitely don't use this with any other exfoliants, it will be too harsh. I don't need to use it for the full minute as the directions say as that's usually too much for me, and I was surprised that this cleanser could have that much exfoliating power.kagh1

My skin type is combination with the t zone getting oilier in summer. I always like cleansers and moisturizers that make my skin feel clean and grease-free afterwards. This cleanser, being a foaming one, therefore is a plus in my books. It contains salicylic acid and carrot both of which assist the minimization of pores. My skin feels clean and fresh afterwards. This is great for tackling the occasional break outs that occur within my skin. It helped resolve a pimple on my nose without drying it out or making it even more irritated. If you zoom in on the photo with my eyes, you can literally see the filled pimple with its white head on my nose before I used the foaming cleanser. The NEXT DAY it was literally gone and the redness was lighter in appearance. I really enjoyed the lather of this cleanser because it’s very gentle, but dispenses enough to cleanse my entire face. I don’t know how they do it but I am so in love with this cleanser! Most acne washes have dried my face out and actually caused more harm to my skin because of how sensitive my skin is. However, this wash is such a miracle cleanser for me! Finally found the perfect cleanser for my face and skin type. I've already noticed a huge difference in overall oil reduction, texture, and clogged pores, so I'm pleased. I have combo oily/dry skin on my face, so some areas over produce oil and some areas are drier than a desert. But a couple of things I noticed about this cleanser is it works really well to unclog the oily areas and keep them moisturized a bit. After about 4 days, I did notice the salicylic acid starting to work and my face was flaking off, but that's what it's supposed to do. So I added some Jergens Ultra Healing lotion to my routine and WOW it's effective. The dry parts of my face are moist, the oily parts are moist but not oily. Would recommend.Luftherz

I have been dealing with constant breakouts for years, since middle school, and I’m 22 now. I just started using this face wash in May 2022 and it has been a life saver. I received the CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser for reviewing purposes. I have combination skin nose and chin very oily, forehead is super dry rest of face is normal. I also get hormonal acne. With all that said I find this product actually whole line really great. I have only been using for about 3 weeks so I am just over the purging stage but I am seeing my pores getting smaller also not having as much redness. This cleanser seems to be universally loved and have yet to find any negative or average reviews about it. I did a patch test since there are a few essential oils in this cleanser and ended up having a cluster of whiteheads show up near my jaw line. Tried again and used it on my chest, ended up having a reaction as well. I've handed it off to my sister and she seems to enjoy it but agrees that it's nothing special and prefers the Jordan Samuel gel cleanser. This is first off a great face wash, it was easy for him to add into his routine. It's a gentle face wash and leaves his skin feeling refreshed and clean. I received this product for free from topbox to try it and give my honest review. As a man, I don't always like to use complicated products, especially for washing my face. However, this product seems to do the trick by being a simple face wash that works for any skin type. I use it in the morning and at night after a busy day of sweating or just working. The product smell is neutral which I like and the product texture is smooth and simple. My skin often feels really refreshed, cleansed and hydrated. It's like most high end hair styling products. It does what it says it should. I use a pea size blob, a bit of water to emulsify and run through my hair prior to going in with a hair-dryer. Great volume for a high pony tail or any up-do. My son uses it to slick back his hair. Pure gel, no water. There's the usual tacky residue on your hands, brushes and combs. Wash brushes and combs using a little shampoo and you're ready for the next day.melissa.h

My holy grail I found this product through youtube rave and Im usually not one to want to go with the trends because many products are often overhyped in my opinion. I saw that kathleenlights used this and we share several of the same problems with our skin dry, redness, etc. She said that it was not harsh on her sensitive skin and helped with the dryness. I ordered it online and was so excited for it to come in. So happy i made this purchase. One of the best purchases of 2015 for me. My skin is sooo sensitive and so many products make me break out, but not this one. I simply soak it onto a cotton round and use it to remove makeup or to just clean and refresh while gently moisturizing my face. I notice after i use this, my face feels really soft. It is not at all harsh because its been near my eyes and it does not burn. It has a very light, fresh clean smell. I use it to remove makeup, wash my face, apply toner, then moisturize. This has made my skin significantly healthier looking and doesnt strip my skin of its nutrients and helps balance out oiliness and keeps my face looking smooth. I would honestly recommend this to anyone, even dry sensitive skin as it worked wonders for me.ani.z

I have sensitive acne prone skin. I scratched my current oil based “ clean beauty” skincare routine after months of crappy results. I’ve never had a “skin care routine” before. But I had begun noticing extremely dry skin around my eyes and lips. Store bought lotions weren’t working. I received a sample of the “AM” moisturizer and decided to try the Level 1 set. After using it for the first month, I am very happy with the results. The moisturizer’s work very well. So much that when I work the off shifts at work and forget to moisturize, my skin doesn’t look or feel dry. I’m incredibly happy that this was able to cure the dry skin issues I was having. I am absolutely adoring my Hanley products. I have terrible combination skin. It's 100% dry and 1000% oily. Just do the math. I've long had to avoid almost any kind of lotion or sunscreen because it makes my face explode like it caught that cordyceps fungus from the Last of Us. But every single one of Tiége Hanley's products does exactly as advertised. My nose has even lost all of its blackheads! Gross, but awesome. And the products leave my skin feeling great, too. It might sound like I'm going overboard here, but I've been searching for products like these for 35 years. Probably would have done wonders in my 20s, but at least I have them now. Just so no one thinks this is a paid review or anything, the one "area of improvement" I can think of is I wish that the "Wash" face wash lathered. I have to apply it like you would "dot contouring" with makeup, then rub it in. I'm fine with that for everything else, but it'd be nice to just rub the face wash all over.
