Finally found the perfect cleanser for my face and skin type. I've already noticed a huge difference in overall oil reduction, texture, and clogged pores, so I'm pleased. I have combo oily/dry skin on my face, so some areas over produce oil and some areas are drier than a desert. But a couple of things I noticed about this cleanser is it works really well to unclog the oily areas and keep them moisturized a bit. After about 4 days, I did notice the salicylic acid starting to work and my face was flaking off, but that's what it's supposed to do. So I added some Jergens Ultra Healing lotion to my routine and WOW it's effective. The dry parts of my face are moist, the oily parts are moist but not oily. Would recommend.Luftherz

I received the CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser for reviewing purposes. I have combination skin nose and chin very oily, forehead is super dry rest of face is normal. I also get hormonal acne. With all that said I find this product actually whole line really great. I have only been using for about 3 weeks so I am just over the purging stage but I am seeing my pores getting smaller also not having as much redness. I switched from a physical exfoliant (scrub) to this chemical exfoliant (benzoyl peroxide). This product is much more gentle on the skin and still leaves my skin feeling soft right away. I've used the classic CeraVe foaming cleanser/moisturizer/retinol serum/night cream for years. I did a course of strong meds a year and a half ago and it cleared my skin completely. After full-time mask wearing started up again, my acne came back a bit so I decided to try this cleanser after having such good experiences with all their other products. It cleared my skin after only a few days! But be careful – I developed a painful itchy rash around my lips and mouth that took steroids to clear up because of how much this cleanser irritated that area of my face. Great product! Benzoyl peroxide is perfect for hormonal/cystic acne — the red, inflamed, under the surface kind. I had been using salicylic acid for a while and didn’t understand why my acne was not clearing. Until my dermatologist informed me that SA is better for whitehead & blackhead type of acne (which I did not have). 4% benzoyl peroxide is a great amount if you’re just introducing benzoyl peroxide to the skin. I’m really surprised by the negative reviews I’m reading! I got this cleanser as a sample and I loved it so much that I purchased it afterward. I have combination skin and I also tend to get rosacea in the winter so I really need something gentle. I don’t wear a ton of makeup but I do wear a tinted moisturizer and bronzer and this product washes everything off. I also feel like my skin looks amazing after washing. This cleanser is really good. There are lots of comments in regard to the new formula being worse than the old, which has NOT been my experience. ( it’s just a cleanser list of ingredients! ). This gentle foaming cleanser defends against 5 signs of skin barrier, dryness, irritation, roughness, and tightness. It’s not harsh on my skin at all. I massage the product into my ski for 60 seconds then rinse and follow the rest of my daily routine. This product goes on light and smooth and leaves my skin feeling fresh and healthy. I don’t care for the smell though, hence I less the star rating. What I love about this cleanser it is effective, but gentle without stripping or leaving my skin feeling dry. The original formula left my skin feeling dry. I’m so happy they improved the formula with glycerine because my skin feels refreshed and moisturized! First off, I’m an esthetician so I’m a bit of a skin care snob. Things that I do love about this cleanser is that the company reworked the formula and took out the parabens and all of the harmful ingredients that it use to use. The cleanser is definitely gentle and good for sensitive skin. But it doesn’t have any actual active ingredients that would help with acne. So if your expecting it to cure any acne. It won’t. It would be best if used as a pre-cleanse before an active cleanser or if your on a medication that prevents you from using active ingredients. It doesn’t even fully remove my foundation and I don’t use a heavy foundation.jeana.w

I have very dry skin that coincides with the side effect of a skin disorder that I have. A lot of facial cleansers I am allergic to or have reactions to. So I was wary of this, but I gave it a try. I was thrilled that I didn't have a reaction or a breakout from using it. But the best surprise was how soft and clean my skin was. I love when cleansers comes in this type of packaging. It’s more sanitary than a jar because you’re not touching the product with your hands + it’s easier to get the product at the very bottom out of this than a bottle with a pump. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, like myself, this may not be your cup of tea. I don’t like fragrances in my skincare for multiple reason. 9/10, I have some kind of reaction. Even though, it smells really “clean�— it’s quite aggressive and smells more like a perfume than a cleanser— and, the scent lingers for a while after. It’s a gel consistency and it lathers into a creamy foam. It feels really nice on the skin, super gentle; in no way irritating or harsh. I can see this working well with all skin types— except for sensitive skin, because of the heavy fragrance. I opted out of double cleansing because I wanted to see how well it performed on it’s own. Even though, my skin felt— and, looked clean— there was still product on my skin, when I went over it with a cotton pad. I definitely recommend double-cleansing (using an oil cleanser before to remove all makeup, dirt, etc) because this product alone doesn’t take everything off. It did take the majority of my makeup off. if you don’t wear much makeup and/or double cleanse, you shouldn’t have any issues. I was super excited to try this cleanser when I saw the ingredient list. Tumeric is an ingredient I’ve been wanting to add to my skincare routine to help fade hyperpigmentation and brighten my complexion. Another ingredient is Green tea, because it’s known for treating/preventing acne. I seen a hugeeee difference in my skin, immediately, after just one use. I was SO excited to finally try this cleanser after seeing so many positive reviews on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, but I have to say that it is a major disappointment and a total fail for me. Pros: The large bottle is very big and since a little goes a long way, it will last a long time. The packaging is convenient. I like gel cleansers (though sees the Cons section for more details…) Cons: Firstly, the scent of this product is absolutely HORRIBLE. It smells exactly like a floral hand soap that my grandmother had in her bathroom in the 80’s, but about 100% stronger. The smell is SO overwhelming and really “sticks around” even after washing it off. I am not someone who is bothered either way about fragrance in skincare products; I enjoy both scented and fragrance free products, but the smell of this cleanser is nauseating and so off putting that I don’t think I can continue to use the cleanser. It’s odd because “fragrance” is listed in the ingredients, so it’s clearly a scent which has been added on purpose. (I can’t comment on how the added fragrance would affect someone with sensitive skin or a fragrance allergy but I would AVOID it for this reason if I did experience those conditions) As stated above, I love gel cleansers, and this is one, though I do find it to be slightly chunky and difficult to break down evenly. It’s difficult to explain but it doesn’t seem to be very elegantly formulated for a gel product. Finally, I have found that this cleanser leaves my cheeks feeling uncomfortably dry, which is a problem I have NEVER encountered with a cleanser as I have oily skin. If you're on the fence, just get it. It makes a dramatic difference in my skin which is rare for a cleanser to do. This really clears up my skin, calms my redness, gets my skin super clean, doesn't irritate my rosacea and actually seems to help it, reduces puffiness, sooths my sensitivity and makes my pores smaller. My skin is textured and I didn't think it was possible for a face wash to make my skin glow but this is no less than miraculous. So basically, it does everything I would ever want in a cleanser. It lathers up nicely and gets rid of makeup, although I also remove waterproof mascara separately. I try new cleansers all the time as anyone would who has subscriptions and this is the only one thus far that does it all and actually HELPS my skin. That is really hard to find in a face wash. So, this is perfect. The only thing I hate is the fact it's expensive. However, I suppose that when you consider everything it does for my face and it being something that's literally on my face for under a minute, it's a good fair price. One tube lasts about 3 months if I'm washing twice a day. You don't need much. It lathers up well and since I exfoliate using a puff with this, it really does go pretty far. And, it does not send suds all over the room which is great. I can cut the tube open to get the last little bit out too. My previous favorite was that calming one from the Tiger Grass collection of Dr. Jart+ and I'd say this runs a close second just in case that's your favorite too and you're on the fence about buying it. This cleanser is nice and does leave my face feeling clean, but I don't like it as much as my Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil, followed by my rice enzyme powder. I have used this cleanser for the past two weeks and while I adore Lancer's polish and will continue to use it when I need extra exfoliation, I feel that this cleanser is too heavily fragranced for my sensitive, combination skin. It doesn't take off my makeup as well as my Tatcha cleansing steps and my face doesn't feel as cleansed and clean as when i use my two step Tatcha cleansing process. I could see using this while on holiday to have less products to bring with me and it didn't break me out or anything. But if isn't a holy grail product in my experience. I have been using good skincare products for over fifteen years and I have tried a lot over the years. This is definitely a solid product, but it isn't the best on the market. I actually was lucky to be a part of the pop-up event in Dallas Northpark a few weeks ago (simple because I saw everyone being handed free popsicles – !Lol) I wasn't sure what was happening but a very nice rep walked me through the experience and I was sold almost immediately. To preface, I have fair skin that is pretty sensitive and prone to dryness and occasional hormonal acne. My go to cleansers are Dermologica Daily Microfoliant and Vanicream gentle face wash. Decided to add this product to my rotation after dealing with a couple of stubborn hormonal/maskne breakouts and being recommended this brand by a friend. Due to the high % of salicylic acid, i only used it 2-3 times a week. After about a month, I began to suffer from some of the worst breakouts i have EVER experienced in my life on my temples, cheeks and chin which i am just now starting to recover from after 6 weeks. I am very skeptical of all products that claim to help acne because I have never found one that actually worked…. until I met THIS. I have oily skin, and have since I was a teen. Being postpartum, I have had random breakouts that seem to never end. This product has not only kept my skin breakout free no matter the fluctuation of hormones, but it gives me the most gorgeous glow every single day. If I even start to get a pimple, it’s gone the next day. This cleanser has a gel like consistency, it is cooling when you apply. I have used it as a mask and a cleanser. I have used it for several weeks and haven't noticed a difference in skin improvement. My skin also didn't feel clean after using this. I have used this on my bare skin and when I have make up on. If washing off make up, I feel that you should still double cleanse. I read reviews about how this product hasn't worked on dark spots or discoloration. I know this product contains niacinamide, however it is a rinse off. It may be worth trying a niacinamide serum. I LOVE this cleanser. I like gel cleansers that feel smooth and gentle, don’t strip my skin, don’t leave behind a filmy feeling, but leave my skin soft, and this is the perfect one for me. I use it on wet skin (you can use it dry but I don’t like the feel) first thing every morning and as a second cleanser at night after removing my makeup. It very lightly emulsifies but feels so silky, and I always leave it on for a few minutes before washing it off like a quick mask (even recommended on the bottle), and my face is so soft, smooth and brightened! I even feel like my toner, serum and moisturizer absorb better and my face stays smooth all day. Everyone’s skin is different, but for mine I can’t find anything I’d want to improve.Megan
I was so excited for this brand, and this cleanser in particular, to launch in the UK and it didn't disappoint! I think it's a great morning/second cleanse. It's super gentle but effective and lathers up nicely. Normally products that foam up irritate my skin and leave my face feeling dry, but this is nice and hydrating. It’s a great cleanser. But my skin doesn’t like it either. It’s possible it was the new foundation I tried, but my acne was never this bad, even as a teen. I’m still using it because I bought so much of it. But I probably won’t buy it again. It was out of stock for a very long time and I was happy to finally see it was available for order because my skin has been dying without it! I just received my package today and (as a previous reviews states), I was disappointed that they reduced the amount of product you get by 1.6 fl oz with no reduction in price. I bought two tubes of that cleanser hoping that it would last me throughout my whole pregnancy. After the first use my skin started to be very itchy and having burning sensation. I thought I will try using every other day but it made my skin worse. My whole body started to itch. It's very watery cleanser that easily gets in to your eyes and irritate them. I'll start by letting you know that I'm not pregnant, but I am mother of two little ones. After dealing with several months of hormonal acne and trying several different face washes, I stumbled across this on Ulta's website and thought, "what the heck, it's worth a shot." Well I can confirm that this is by far the best face wash I have ever used!! Just after one week of use my acne was cleared up. I'm now on week 4 or 5 of using this face wash and I haven't had a single break out!! That's a big deal!! Even through my cycle, which is when I would always have a break out, I didn't have a single breakout this time. I've had a couple of little white heads but they never developed into an actuale pimple. I also have always had an issue with black heads on my chin and nose. I have seen a huge improvement with that as well. My skin is overall so much healthier and smoother!! I use this face wash twice a day, at night when I'm removing makeup I first use my dove beauty bar (just your basic white dove bar soap, if you've never used it, try it!! It's amazing at taking make up off) to remove my makeup and then use this cleanser to make sure all is clean. In the morning I use only this cleanser. I also purchased the vitamin c moisturizer, which I LOVE, and the face scrub, also amazing! I know this line is designed for pregnant women but I highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from acne!! It is definitely pricey but the bottles are huge, so it should last a while. I’m halfway through the bottle and it’s the only cleanser I’ve been using and it’s made my whiteheads start to fade. I use it morning and nights; at nights I let it sit on my face til it disappears from dying out. It’s a pretty foamy lather but the bottles evaporate (?) if you let it sit. It’s got no scent. I get no irritation from it. I’m pretty oily so this has been good to help me control the levels. I use hydrating products in tandem with this product so I don’t over dry my skin. Very solid staple in any skincare routine.
I have battled with finding the right face wash for my oily skin my whole life. I’ve tried EVERY fad under the sun. Some worked for a very short period, others didn’t work at all. This however, this has been my saving grace. I can use it as frequently as desired and the effects are always the same. Unlike competitors that you cannot use too often for fear of your skin drying out. This is the perfect combination of moisturising enough to not strip my skin, but not too much so as to make my skin even more oily than normal and acne-combating enough to keep my skin mostly blemish free. I’m still waiting for it to “stop working” alike so many others did.
I have awful cystic acne caused by a genetic condition, and for the last 10 years I’ve tried pretty much every product on the market with no results. Until I tried this face wash. Within one use, my skin was so much less inflamed, and my acne is so much more manageable and less painful. Now, after nearly a month of use, I’m not breaking out as often, and when I do, it’s nowhere near as painful or bad as it had been before – for the first time in my life, I have clear skin. Plus, the space wash is gentle and calms itchy, sore skin without stinging like other face washes. This stuff is incredible. I usually buy clean and clear since it’s the only BP product I can find easily. My skin is no longer parched, there’s no reside left behind, my scars are healing, my pores cleared out without turning to pimples, my skin looks healthy and no longer inflamed. I didn’t even realize how inflamed it was until a week of this and the toner. I always just thought I was prone to adult acne but now I know my skin just hated every other product! My skin is just awful. I used to have flawless skin but redness and breakout started to appear randomly about a month ago. I have been using this for two weeks and already notice a significant difference. I am also using Eucerin Redness Relief but this product is helping my skin for sure. I think this is the best soap of this type. Works well for shortening and preventing breakouts. Does not foam up a lot but washes off quickly and easily. Has pretty smooth texture without sandy feeling. Doesn't have much artificial scent, if any. Pure white color. Doesn't make face dry or painful after routine use; this does happen with strong concentrations of benzoyl, salicylic acid or alcohol. Stronger benzoyl soaps will hurt your face and eyes. Good price on this product too. The only caution is to watch towels, clothes and carpets as this has repeatedly bleached mine. It doesn't bleach it to white or immediately but it will discolor many items over time.NateG

Hello! I received a sample product for the #florencepanel and I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. It felt nice and refreshing at first, but within three days, patches of my skin became flaky, red, dry, and would sting when other products were applied. I have dry skin, where foam cleansers should be carefully used. I'll continue to use it (after repairing my skin) under three times per week. Be careful, loves. If this happens, remove actives (such as vitamin C and niacinamide), switch to a gentle cleanser (like the Clean Magic Face Wash) and search for products to fix your barrier. I was provided a free sample as part of the #florencepanel by florence by mills to try this product and write an honest review! I was excited to try this because my skin has been acting up lately so i thought maybe a new product could help. I was a bit nervous however because I have veryyyyy sensitive skin that can be quite acne prone and I just get allergic reactions to random things. I have been using this wash for a few days though and no problems yet! I find it to be not drying at all which can be a problem I have with even moisturizing products for dry skin so that is a plus! ( i hate that tight feeling your face gets when you wash ti and this doesn't do that!) i deff will keep using it to see if it helps clear up the spots i've been breaking out in lately and would definitely try this wash with other florence by mills skincare products to see if a new routine would help me! The only thing i would considered a "con" of this product is the scent, I just was expecting it to be scent free for some reason so i was surprised by its strong smell. It isn't bad and I actually like that it isn't added fragrance (just essential oil) but it was just a bit strong at first! I like lavender however so if you like that you will be fine, if you dont then you might find it a bit strong! overall I am happy with the product and will continue to use it to see how it helps my skin!Jenny

I bought this cleanser to help with my blackheads and congestion. I have combination/oily skin, pores, texture, and sensitive skin. PROS: it REALLY exfoliates your skin, removes buildup of oil, sunscreen, etc, non-drying, non-irritating, helps with blackheads better than other products (Paula’s Choice BHA did nothing for me after 3 bottles), softens your skin, and skin feels balanced and fresh after washing. CONS: I noticed my skin got bit more oily in t-zone from using it twice daily. I would really recommend this product for blackheads/texture. Also, every time I squeeze some product out, there are 1-2 small white particles in the formula. I think it’s just some ingredients that clump up and create this. I’m not one to write many reviews or go out of my way to say something is my “holy grail” product.. but omg this cleanser is AMAZING! I had a really bad stress/hormonal breakout that wouldn’t clear up for approximately three weeks. I finally got fed up and decided to give this a try. This along with two other products gave me great results within a week! I have been following that same routine for the past two months now and the acne that I struggled with along my cheeks are almost completely gone. I wash my face twice a day and have sensitive, congested pores, acne prone, combo skin for reference. New breakouts (mostly around my chin.. mask-ne) are minimal and clear up within 3-4 days. My routine consists of this cleanser, a AHA/BHA toner, and a clarifying dry oil that I use as a moisturizer. The dry oil has really helped to combat the dryness from the cleanser and toner. Took a bit over a few months to see real results. Im oily, acne-prone but I used to be on accutane so my experience might different. Almost a year after being on accutane I started experiencing acne flare ups again but now on my chin area and those mini bumps that come in numbers on my forehead. After buying this cleanser, it almost immediately cleared up the mini bumps on my forehead but it took almost the full bottle for my severe, stubborn acne on my chin to stop flaring and eventually stop the acne altogether. Now I’m left with acne scars/pigmentation on my chin but it did the job eventually. I started religiously using sunscreen too so I don’t know if it helped halt my stubborn acne as well. I overall in my experience give this 5 stars but if you’re looking for a miracle over night acne eliminator then this cleanser isn’t for you.lorrainejoy

e.l.f. cosmetics Acne Clarifying Cleanser really works on my blemish prone skin! I have been using this product two times a day (morning and evening) every day for almost two weeks now. I noticed that the directions on the back of the box say that the product can be used up to three times a day and to apply the medication after cleansing the skin, but the side of the box instructs you to use this product as a cleanser twice a day. Strange. This is a cleanser, so I would stick with the "How To Use" on the side of the box. With my skin type, using this product three times a day is likely too harsh for my face. I have noticed that my skin does have that tight feeling after using the product, but that is how I know it is really doing its job! The cleanser is supposed to gently help remove the excess oils that your face produces, so as a result, your skin feels tighter. I apply some lightweight moisturizer, and instantly, my face feels hydrated again. I love that this product is clean and kind: vegan and cruelty free. I was pleasantly surprised with this face wash. First of all, you really can't beat the price point. Second, it's surprisingly mild for being an acne cleanser with salicylic acid. It didn't dry out my skin at all. It's made of a ton of nourishing ingredients you can usually only find in high end face washes. It does an excellent job of removing makeup. Y'all this e.l.f cosmetics Acne Clarifying Cleanser is off the chain ! So I normally never use acne products because they seem to always irritate my skin and cause my breakouts to become really worse , I know they say alot of time it makes them worse because it's pulling everything out , but I don't have time for my face to get worse so I just don't simply use it ..well I decided to give this a try and I am AMAZED!! This face wash is the best i could find out there. my skin is oily and sesnitive at the same time. I do get breakouts here and there randomly. With some redness on the face along with sensitive skin, finfing the right face washwash was a challenge. This is the best face wash, doesnt dry out my skin after the wash, skin feels clean, refreshed and supple. I love the clear gel texture of the facewash. If you talk about the price , its definatley worth it as it goes a long way. Value for money yes, and gentle to the skin. It doesnt irritates my skin after the wash and has mild fragrance. What I love about it: smells amazing, a little goes a long way. What I don’t like: doesn’t nothing for my outbreaks, pretty basic cleanser. I’ve definitely have better. I’m not sure how this did well with other peoples acne and outbreaks but this formula just wasn’t for me. I love the smell but for those with sensitive skin may want to stay away. Like many La Roche products a dime size will lather very well for my entire face and neck. Unfortunately I’m stuck with an entire bottle of face wash I can only use once a day. Not the best to remove make up. I just use this to wash my face in the morning. I love their products but this one is not for me.ashguerrero
Its perfect for oily skin. I have suffered from acne since along time. Then my dermatologist prescribed my this facial cleanser. And i never stopped it since then. I am from egypt i used it there and i searched for it here in the US. until i found it on the website. I found it in cvs pharmacy too. My recommendation, if you have an oily skin like mine . Is to use it daily once or twice a day depending on your skin needs, and apply la roche posay matte moisturizer afterwards. Use a facial scrub once weekly. And use anthelios matte sunscreen for oily skin every day in the morning. And whatever serum you love before sleep like hyaluronic acid serum or vitamin cAmal M
