I really like this compact and love how well the powder blends on top of my foundation. I have very fair skin and it matches my skin perfectly. The pressed power is very soft and velvety smooth to the touch. My only issue is that on super hot, humid days the powder kind of caked up despite blending well and using a high end setting spray. I'm knocking off a star because of this and it being such an expensive product. You are far better off spending the extra bucks for the bigger compact versus the mini compact. In the picture is a quarter for size reference. I purchased the mini compact the first time to try the product out and went through it pretty quickly. I wanted this for a very long time. It’s royalty in the world of cult favorite beauty products. Any beauty aficionado can spot the gold compact a mile away. I also do my makeup on the go often so pressed powder is a must for me. Some of my favorites are Clinique Redness Solutions, Tarte Shape Tape Glow Powder, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, and Too Faced It’s Bananas Powder. My biggest problem with pressed powder is if they shatter on me. I am not above repressing my powder but it’s not the ideal situation. I have combination, fair skin. This powder does not seem in danger of shattering. I bring it with me a lot and it hasn’t fractured even slightly. Which is good because I don’t think this would be a candidate for repress, it’s very thin and the pan is shallow. As far as application, I use a fluffy brush. Oh goodness. This may be an unpopular opinion but I do not think this is worth the price. I wanted this for my under eyes and as a setting powder for my dry sensitive skin but I did not like this. I usually use Laura Mercier translucent setting powder but had heard so many good things about this I decided to give it a try. It did not blur my under eyes the same way. It worked okay for the rest of my face but nothing mind-blowing like the reviews on You tube say. I would say this is an average-setting powder. Three stars because the packaging is beautiful and I think that is what you are paying for at this point. If you need a basic setting powder there are better options out there. Im a professional make-up artist trialing powders, although it says its a setting power it is not, do not set your make-up with this. The negative reveiws are because you are not using it correctly. The powder needs to be applied where you have texture or lies it smooths them. Why it 'feels weird' it has silicon in it that blurs, same as the 'bluring primer' has silcon in it as well. You dont need alot, small fluffy brush lightly under the eyes around the nose and a larger brush to gently brush over the rest of the face. Baking this product will leave it patchy and sit in clumps on the face. This product has miniumal flash back if used correctly and lightly, unlike the nyx one. Worth the money! I have used this HD Powder in Translucent for many years and I have gone through countless amounts of them! My skin-type is sensitive, prone to breakouts, and oily (lucky me) lol. So with that information I will say this product has not caused any issues for me in all my time using it. The powder works great in all fashions – just over primer, over pressed powder, to bake under eyes, and as a finishing powder. What I use it mostly for is to brighten my under eyes and as a spot powder. It really helps keep my oils at bay but I will say it isn't forever matte. However, touch ups are super easy and literally absorbs any oils. I will always have this in my makeup bag and literally swear by it. I will say that it does have flashback and can look flat. Less is more with this product and I really love it. I apply it with a setting brush (long-lasting) or a beauty blender if I want to concentrate the product and get full coverage (not long-lasting & can look flat). All this goes to say, figure out how this product works for you and your needs. The packaging it nice too, I use the lid to lightly tap the product onto and any excess I just tap back into the container. I try to remember to clean the inside of the lid every once in awhile so there isn't germs lurking. One time I did make the mistake of taking the plastic piece out of the container so I could get more product at a time… what a mess that was! Like I said above, less is more anyways! I like it !! This is a great product to set your make up with, the powder is super smooth and feels great on the skin. Keeps me matte for long time. I use it every day when I go to work. It makes my skin and makeup look flawless with a blurring affect. This is definitely holy grail of powders. It went on easily and smooth. When I use it to set my concealer it prevents the concealer from creasing without altering the shade. I have a combination skin and my t-zone need to be set with powder to avoid shine. When I use it over a foundation, it matifies instantly without altering the foundation color. Most of the days, I just use a concealer and use this powder all over moisurized face. For this purpose I like to use the sponge over a powder brush. I take some powder on the sponge, tap of the excess and roll it on to the skin, and then follow it up with blush and lip product. That way my face stays matte and fresh for long time. It looks very natural on skin, not too dry or too shiny. Texture feels nice, didn’t dry out my skin and also didn’t make me look cakey . The price was extremely affordable and fair. I recommend it for someone love natural make-up. I will buy it again. Must try!!vy.h

I've never been super happy with the way my under eyes look since I've been getting older. But I finally feel not only comfortable, but actually confident with how they look. They look smooth, brightened and my fine lines are almost non-existent. I've also used it to set my t-zone, which looks great as well. So far, my favorite way to use it with one of the triangular powder puffs. But using a brush works too. I was previously using the Pat McGrath brightening powder, and this Charlotte Tilbury one is definitely less chalky! I find this works well using a powder puff to really press it in. The finish is super smooth and flawless and keeps under-eye concealer looking good the whole day. My only gripe is that the pan spins around in the compact; it feels kind of loose. It's meant to be refillable but it does feel like the pan might easily fall out if not careful.eysb
Jury is still out on this one for me. I found that it's not the best powder I have for setting the under eye, but it does brighten. Have I been trying it with various concealers including the new Charlotte Tilbury one. I find it works best as a light dusting once my concealer is already set. This powder is great but the mini size is a joke. Mine broke in my makeup bag, I didn’t even drop it!!!!! I was really frustrated because the mini is not cheap and it’s about the size of a quarter. They need to just make this in the large size, this powder is way too soft. I feel like the mini is a scam… I already am overlooking the lack of shades to buy this brand because it works with my skin but come on Charolette, restock the big size and stop this mini nonsense. So this compact is extremely tiny, but I actually really love it. I’m 30+ so my skin can’t really do baking anymore:/. I typically only use this product as the last step of my makeup routine, which is setting my pores around my nose (I have rosacea that can flare up when I’m putting my makeup on). Before I’d use a loose powder but noticed it only highlighted my pores more. This product does an excellent job at really concealing my pores and some of my blemishes! Got the sample size to try it and now i don't even want to use my Reg powder, which I thought was Holy grail. This really does give an airbrush flawless look to the face without looking like you have any powder on. Amazing finish and doesn't dry out my skin. Doesn't sit in my fine lines or gunk up around my nose. I do need to reapply mid day but it holds up pretty well with or without the airbrush setting spray, but I do recommend the spray, it so lovely too! I apply this with a powder brush or sometimes a puff. The compact itself looks luxurious and I like to show it off, its so pretty! Will buy the full size next!! This is my favorite face powder of all time! The ONLY reason I could not give it 5 stars is because of the packaging! I remember seeing negative reviews about the packaging of this product before purchasing it and thinking, “Oh, it can’t be that bad,” but it is. It takes minutes to shake enough powder out to cover half of your face with a dusting. However – the product itself is SO good that I will shake it for minutes gladly to achieve the glow-from-within look this powder helps me achieve. I struggled to find a powder for YEARS because I do not like to look matte but I am oily, so I need a powder that holds up. This one is perfection. This is just a beautiful product. I can't go without it. I like a natural finish, and having mature, dry skin, I use NARS tinted moisturiser with this over the top to get a flawless but natural finish. This is luminous, it gives you a lovely natural glow, its not heavy, never caked, but it always leaves a great, long wearing finish (I don't do bake or heavy setting though). My only criticism would be that, it is luminous, so it will highlight under eye bags, and the pesky wrinkles you might want to hide, and so I use this all over, but then cover eye bags and wrinkles with the By Terry Hyaluronic Powder, which is matte, and covers the bits I don't want to go. With both, I have an incredibly good team, and I will not be changing them out for anything. Tried and tested great!SusieV
This is hands down my favourite setting powder, (& I've tried a fair few). It is good on my oily skin, soaking up oils & keeping me matte but not dry like a desert. It doesn't cling to Peach fuzz and doesn't crease/cake my under eye area when I set after concealer. I used this over liquid foundation & concealer. It is hands down an amazing setting powder for almost every skin type w/out that dry, powdery look. But…. The price point for 10.5gms (used to be $77.00), now at $66.00, when my 20-25gm powders such as, Nikkia Joy Cosmetics loose translucent setting powder is $55.00 & very comparable. It's extremely expensive for the amount of product and also you don't get to even use the small amount of product you receive, as you can't remove the inner sifter to open the pot and get the decent amount of powder still there. Therefore not getting the small amount (10.5gms), of product even available. This needs fixing asap please Hourglass as does either the amount per pot for the price point or a lower price point for the amount of product received. There my ONLY 2 issues with this product. Otherwise it's absolutely amazing. I would be repurchasing, but now my more economical 2nd choice, that has more product for less, is just as good, (especially for oily skin), and has a removable sifter to obtain ALL the pot contents. Has made me reconsider my future purchases. If, I get a Mecca voucher or some spare cash and wish to treat myself, I'll repurchase. Hear me out – I LOVE most everything that IT creates, and have been a loyal user of their CC+ plus cream for years. I have been seeing a lot of rave reviews online for this product and just had to get my hands on it. Once I got home, I tried the 'on bare skin' approach after being moisturized and my skin looked worse than it did without anything on it. It was incredibly dry looking and feeling – not a 'silky' feel like the package stated. I do have somewhat combination skin but most of my skin is oily. Later in the day I decided to take a shower and try again with foundation; and got the same result. My skin hated this product too, I felt very itchy and self conscious about how dry my skin looked. I was desperate when I bought this and relieved when I returned it the next day. Normally when I have an ulta return, I wait until I need to head in that direction for other errands. But nope, not this time. I couldn't stand this stuff. I am a medium complected 42 year old woman with neutral undertones. I live in a beach town, so I already have a tan even though summer just started. I figured since this was translucent, it would be more invisible than anything. I was wrong. Dead wrong. I looked like I was either recovering from the Bubonic Plague or I was related to Dracula. All color was gone from my face and I did not look healthy at all. On top of that, I was pretty oily and had to touch up frequently. With as small as the jar is, it would not have lasted long. I returned it and ordered my normal finishing powder from Alima Pure. The container is twice the size, plus the lid closes so all the powder doesn't pour out. For the record, I do like It Cosmetics for my Bye Bye Foundation, but they need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to this powder. I will start with saying that I use very little setting powder. I have used this since it launched years ago, it was my holy grail. I recently ran out after using the same jar for 2 years. It is not the same powder. The color, and texture even is completely different and not in a good way. The product was always a lightweight/sheer white. I bought translucent which now appears heavier, and to be more of a yellowish/ off-white in color. It’s terrible! I’m shocked that I’m the first person commenting that they have noticed this. Any good reviews on this product are for sure for the previous formula. I read a review below where someone states that they purchased it at Ulta. I absolutely love this powder. Very light feeling and easy to work with. Does not leave my face with a cakey overmade up look. I have used this product for many years and have always been very pleased with it's ease to use and the lightweight fresh beautiful feeling I get from it. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control I am forced to cut back on my spending and therefore my makeup is one area I have to cut back. I thought I loved this. I really enjoyed the transition to powder foundation at first. Upon application it looks good (really good) but it settles into every pore and just looks awful as the day goes on. I used it for a few months and it just didnt work for me anymore. I used to only wear mineral foundation and wore this for my wedding. I had terrible acne and found this to be one of the best mineral foundations and ingredients for my skin. I wear it over a cream or liquid foundation as more of a setting powder and for extra coverage than just the liquid or powder foundation alone. As I am near 40 now, I use powder foundations less as I find powders tend to crease under my eye fine lines and wrinkles a little more. If that’s the case try to set the concealer with the Youngblood setting powder and keep the loose foundation powder away from under the eyes. Warm up the concealer with your finger tips first also. I work in and out of the kitchen. And this product is amazing as it doesn't clog my pores or cause outbreaks. It's buildbable in areas where you need it or where it all over. No fragrance no skin irrations. A little goes a long way and the product last me for at least 3mths. I would recommend using a setting spray after application to make it last longer. My favorite setting powder of all time! It’s literally the only powder that works for me. I have extremely oily skin and am always shiny, it’s very frustrating. But I’ve found that this product keeps the oil at bay for hours. After some time I do get a little shine near my nose (that’s a given) but a little touch up makes it all better. I bought this after reading all the amazing reviews and I still believe all those reviews but unfortunately for me, personally, this powder just doesn't do what I want it to. It won't blend at all and leaves my face looking cakey. Maybe it's my combination skin because it gets cakey only in my tzone area but it's super obvious. You can also clearly see white powder on my face and trust me, I am pale as a ghost. If anyone else is experiencing the same thing I experienced, you might want to try Stay Naked the Fix by Urban Decay. Yes, it's a pressed powder and no, it's not translucent but I bought the fairest shade and that one ended up doing exactly what I needed. It's a bit more expensive but worth it. I absolutely love Dermablend Professional’s Illuminating Banana loose setting powder! It has a slight yellow/tan tint that is used to brighten your complexion while locking in your make up. I typically use the transparent form of setting powder but do tend to get a bit of a tan in the warmer months. I have used this powder for decades. It was pricy when I first started using it and is pricy now but it has consistently performed for me and the product is of good quality, so I justified using it. However, I was dismayed to see, as previous reviewers have mentioned, that although the price has remained high (and let's be honest, has leapt up in pounds increments over the last 5 years) Clinique has sneakily reduced the amount for the same price by over 25%! If you had been upfront and brought this to consumers attention, then that would have been the honest way to deal with your customers. It sounds to me that Clinique that been hiring marketeers from companies such as the chocolate manufacturers – just put the price up but reduced the amount, they'll never notice, consumers are stupid. We're not and by doing this you are damaging not only Clinque's reputation but also that trust between you and your loyal consumers. We are fed up of being treated in such an underhand way. Please clinique can you provide a powder puff with a little ribbon to put 2 fingers through or have a option to buy a powder puff. I absolutely love this stuff. I'll be honest, it's rare for me to use up a makeup product. But I have not only used this powder up once, but multiple times. It makes reapplying SPF easier, and I even apply this over sunscreen, even if I'm not wearing makeup because it makes skin look so nice. It adds just a hint of coverage, and is somehow matte where you need it, and glowy where you need it. It's a very slept on product. Also, I'm very acne prone, and not only has this never broken me out, I feel it actually benefits my complexion. The only downsides are that I don't think the translucent shade is actually translucent for everyone. I'm very fair, and I make it work, but it does deposit color. I really wanted to love this since I have been looking for a long time for a powder with good SPF to reapply during the day. My skin is oily, acne-prone and sensitive, so I'm picky about ingredients and I was happy to find a compact that was mineral-based and talc-free. But the bad packaging really turns an excellent product into one that's just OK. Firstly, the clasp on mine broke almost instantly, meaning it won't stay closed. The brush it comes with is tiny, cheap, and difficult to use. So much powder gets wasted before you can even get any on your face. I threw the brush out and use a regular puff now. Lastly, the "translucent" shade is misleading. It works OK with some blending for me, but it would be way too dark for anyone who is very fair, and other light skin tones may find this a little on the orange side. I'll likely repurchase since there aren't a lot of alternatives, but I think this could be a truly amazing product with just a couple of improvements!masilea
I've tried 6 or 8 times to get this to work, but it just doesn't. You can't put it over cream products (like foundation or BB cream), even long after they have dried, because it collects in sheets of weird surface debris. You can't put it over powder products (like retouching your powder), or it separates and becomes very patchy. I bought it to reapply sunscreen later in the day, but it just makes your face look horrible. If you try to fix it with a sponge — wet or dry — the only way you can revert to a human-looking face is if you rub it off. Which defeats the whole purpose of an SPF powder. Great idea, poor execution. Wish there was an affordable sunscreen powder that actually worked well.Becky

My favourite settings powder. I apply this copiously all over my oily face without worrying that my makeup will look cackey. Perfectly sets my makeup for hours but still with a beautiful fresh glow which makes me look younger without making my pores look worse. Be careful to match your skin tone, as does have pigment. I'm obsessed with the brightening/smoothing effect this pink powder creates. I have a olive tan/deep skin tone and a women of color for reference. I wasn't sure and thought the powders would be too light, but they are just stunning. Smoothing, non-drying, and beautiful. It did not change the color of my tinted moisturizer underneath and they just felt really nice on the skin. I have oily skin, but I also don't want a matte matte look so this was perfect. Just got another brush from elf too. No lie I love 97% (yes, girl I said a percentage lol) of the products I get from elf. Elf is just that girl, please never discontinue these! The powder is really good. There is a lot of powder, though it is not used sparingly, it lasts for a long time. It fixes my makeup well. Keeps my skin matte for 8 hours, even though I have combination skin and it tends to glow. It does not clog pores. It feels nice on my skin. Does not accentuate wrinkles, on the contrary. The Sephora Collection has really been impressing me as of late! For reference, I have oily skin that is textured, has large pores, acne, acne scarring, and has issues of sensitivity and rosacea. I also have a light complexion with primarily neutral leaning to golden undertones. This loose powder was such a surprise! It is very finely milled and feels soft to the touch. I have applied it using a fluffy brush as well as a sponge and both methods of application work beautifully. If you have any dry patches or dry skin, I think this powder will accentuate texture (it did on me) but it also kept my makeup in place! I'd definitely repurchase this one! It reminds me of the Nikki Joy Cosmetics velvet finishing powder but with no scent.Tinkerer

As soon as I placed it on my t zone and under eye area it picked up every dry patch I had and made my skin appear drier. I don’t have this issue with my other translucent powder. I didn't understand the poor reviews, but then I read them and I can understand why people think this is drying, etc. I have excessively oily skin (cannot use any moisturizer, no hair conditioner, etc). This is perfect for people with very oily skin. It creates a fantastic canvas and prolongs makeup wear. I. normally need to "bake" a couple of times in the work day. With this I can actually get away with not baking – I use it in the morning after SPF and before foundation. Make up lasts all day. If I want to go out at night (12 hours later) then I still freshen it up with a little powder , but this is a game changer. Love it. I was so disappointed with this! The original P and P was great: good coverage, consistency, color and pore reduction. I could use it in place of foundation when I didn't need to get all made up. This new one is useless. It's very chalky and stark white and adds no color or coverage whatsoever to my skin as well as doing nothing for my pores. To get any coverage /use at all, I have to use a lot of it and since the new package gives me less product, this is a problem. Too Faced's bottom line benefited from selling less for more, but the consumer was cheated. Since the product didn't do what it was supposed to do, it was even more of a cheat. What a shame. I use the "Banana" color. It's is nice. I want to try another color. But it is not good for my skin when it is too dry. At times it seems like my skin flakes if it isn't moisturized entirely, because I have sensitive skin and break out to almost anything. But it is great for oily skin I'd say. Works for my mom, but not for me. We both have oily skin but her skin is a lot lighter than mine. As such, it leaves a white-cast on my darker skin. I can tolerate it and no one notices, but I notice and I am who matters first when it comes to makeup and skin care. Why I rate it at 3-stars? Because it looks great on my mom's lighter skin, so I gave the powder to her. It blurred fine lines and pores. So, if you're lighter, this may work out well for you.amanda.c
