My favorite setting powder of all time! It’s literally the only powder that works for me. I have extremely oily skin and am always shiny, it’s very frustrating. But I’ve found that this product keeps the oil at bay for hours. After some time I do get a little shine near my nose (that’s a given) but a little touch up makes it all better. I love this product so much that I bought the travel sized version. However, I really wish they brought back the pressed/compact setting finishing powder. I bought this after reading all the amazing reviews and I still believe all those reviews but unfortunately for me, personally, this powder just doesn't do what I want it to. It won't blend at all and leaves my face looking cakey. Maybe it's my combination skin because it gets cakey only in my tzone area but it's super obvious. You can also clearly see white powder on my face and trust me, I am pale as a ghost. If anyone else is experiencing the same thing I experienced, you might want to try Stay Naked the Fix by Urban Decay. Yes, it's a pressed powder and no, it's not translucent but I bought the fairest shade and that one ended up doing exactly what I needed. It's a bit more expensive but worth it. I typically use the transparent form of setting powder but do tend to get a bit of a tan in the warmer months. At this time of year, I always change to a darker shade of foundation, setting powder and face bronzers. I enjoy this product just as much as the original loose setting powder. I love how it gives me that summertime glow without adding actual colour to my face. It mattifies my face and helps to control excess shine and oiliness. This powder does transfer a little bit to my mask after a long period of warm and sweaty wear. I do use a lot of buildable foundation so I do feel that this is would be inevitable. Im a professional make-up artist trialing powders, although it says its a setting power it is not, do not set your make-up with this. The negative reveiws are because you are not using it correctly. The powder needs to be applied where you have texture or lies it smooths them. Why it 'feels weird' it has silicon in it that blurs, same as the 'bluring primer' has silcon in it as well. You dont need alot, small fluffy brush lightly under the eyes around the nose and a larger brush to gently brush over the rest of the face. Baking this product will leave it patchy and sit in clumps on the face. This product has miniumal flash back if used correctly and lightly, unlike the nyx one. Worth the money! I have used this HD Powder in Translucent for many years and I have gone through countless amounts of them! My skin-type is sensitive, prone to breakouts, and oily (lucky me) lol. So with that information I will say this product has not caused any issues for me in all my time using it. The powder works great in all fashions – just over primer, over pressed powder, to bake under eyes, and as a finishing powder. What I use it mostly for is to brighten my under eyes and as a spot powder. It really helps keep my oils at bay but I will say it isn't forever matte. However, touch ups are super easy and literally absorbs any oils. I will always have this in my makeup bag and literally swear by it. I will say that it does have flashback and can look flat. Less is more with this product and I really love it. I apply it with a setting brush (long-lasting) or a beauty blender if I want to concentrate the product and get full coverage (not long-lasting & can look flat). All this goes to say, figure out how this product works for you and your needs. The packaging it nice too, I use the lid to lightly tap the product onto and any excess I just tap back into the container. I try to remember to clean the inside of the lid every once in awhile so there isn't germs lurking. One time I did make the mistake of taking the plastic piece out of the container so I could get more product at a time… what a mess that was! Like I said above, less is more anyways! I like it !! This is a great product to set your make up with, the powder is super smooth and feels great on the skin. Keeps me matte for long time. I use it every day when I go to work. It makes my skin and makeup look flawless with a blurring affect. This is definitely holy grail of powders. It went on easily and smooth. When I use it to set my concealer it prevents the concealer from creasing without altering the shade. I have a combination skin and my t-zone need to be set with powder to avoid shine. When I use it over a foundation, it matifies instantly without altering the foundation color. Most of the days, I just use a concealer and use this powder all over moisurized face. For this purpose I like to use the sponge over a powder brush. I take some powder on the sponge, tap of the excess and roll it on to the skin, and then follow it up with blush and lip product. That way my face stays matte and fresh for long time. It looks very natural on skin, not too dry or too shiny. Texture feels nice, didn’t dry out my skin and also didn’t make me look cakey . I really loved this setting powder and found that it was really effective, as the name suggests, at setting my makeup. But it’s definitely a multitasker that went beyond being just a setting powder and and it performed beyond my expectations. I don’t have overly oily skin but in the summer I always have a bit more and this powder has been great for keeping that at bay. The best thing about this powder is probably the blurring effect and how long it lasts without needing to be reapplied. It definitely helped to reduce the look of my fine lines and pores which is always a plus. It’s super light and finely milled so it felt weightless and so smoothing. I really appreciate the fact that it doesn’t feel at all like I’ve added another layer to my face, especially in the summer when I basically want to look and feel like I’m not wearing any makeup but still enjoy the benefits of wearing makeup that performs really well. I didn’t get any sort of white cast with this and that’s a specific issue I’ve had with a couple other popular setting powders that I purchased at the beginning of the summer. I was hesitant because of the price, but it is worth it in my opinion. I use a cream foundation mixed with a skin tint, and if I need it, full coverage concealer. This powder sets it in place wonderfully. My skin looks soft matte, almost airbrushed. It’s not shiny or greasy, even after a few hours of wear(mind you I’ve only tried this in winter, so i’m curious to see how it holds up with summer heat). I have normal skin, with acne problems. I’m quite pale, so I usually go for translucent powders just to be safe. This doesn’t lighten my foundation like other translucent powders I’ve tried, but again I have pale skin. I noticed there is no fallout in the pan when I use the applicator provided, a variety of brushes, or a sponge (very impressive!!!). I’ve even dropped this on hardwood flooring on accident, the powder was fine. No cracks, no pan fallout, the lid stayed closed as well. I was recently gifted the Bare Minerals Original Mineral Veil Pressed Setting Powder in Translucent by @influenster & @bareminerals in exchange for my honest review. When I first received it, I thought it looked an awful lot like the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Setting Powder that I already owned. Even the packaging is super similar. So I decided to do a few days of split face testing with both products. For the most part, both products work exactly the same way & looked almost identical on my skin. Both products claim to reduce the appearance of pores, blur imperfections, & leave your skin with a filter free finish. I would say most of this is achieved by the first ingredient in both products, mica. It’s typically the ingredient in makeup that gives you that blurring or glowing look & I’m not mad at it. I’m here for all the blurring! The biggest differences I noticed with the Bare Minerals is how soft & smooth their formula is. Just rubbing your finger across the compact, you can feel how smooth it is. Their formula is talc-free and contains shea butter, cacoa butters & vitamin E. After applying, I noticed the Bare Minerals gave a slightly more glowing look than the It Cosmetics. And when applied with a blender sponge to set my under eye concealer, I thought it looked a bit less “powdery” & a tad more natural. All in all, both products are really great & actually do what they claim to do. They both retail for right around $30. You can’t go wrong with either product. This foundation is just okay. It has a natural finish with a very liquidy-runny formula. There’s many shades and undertones to choose from so that’s a plus. Coverage is decent, it covers my redness fairly well. I like to use it to mix in with other foundations but on it’s own I find it doesn’t wear too long, and kind of has a greasy finish if you don’t set with powder. Mixed with the maybelline super stay foundation or a more thick foundation in general this works well but on it’s own it’s not the best. I wouldn’t recommend if you have oily skin. I have normal to dry skin. The foundation also separates in the bottle and all the oil or whatever it is sets at the top and it looks really gross, you can just shake it up to fix it but idk this foundation isn’t bad, but it’s definitely not my favorite..libby.h
This foundation was the first foundation I've ever tried and after using an few other drugstore foundations, I can state that this one has been the best drugstore foundation I've used. However, the color match was initially tricky as at first I used C7 as Beyonce was the brand ambassador at the time and it was stated she wore that color 😄 I don't have cool undertones and I don't think Beyonce does either? But, at this time I wasn't aware of undertones so I've come from. The color was also darker on me and was not a true match. So, then I tried N7 which Zoe Saldana was the ambassador as well and she's definitely an neutral undertone, so I said what the hey? 🤔 this shade worked much better for me, but I'm not an true neutral undertone however I made that shade work. Honestly, I'm not too sure how I feel about this powder. I had heard such great things about it that I decided to pick it up and try it myself. I used it a couple times but the undertone of this particular shade never sat right with me i.e I think it's too grey on my neutral- warm skintone. The texture was fine and the packaging is decent enough, I do like the size mirror that comes with it. I've always been a skin care fanatic so I tend to stick with tinted moisturizers or lightweight foundations. I've tried a couple powder foundations through the years that cost a pretty penny and I never liked the way they looked on my skin. My daughter gave this to me because she accidently bought Porcelain and it's too light for her but is perfect for my very fair skin. I did NOT expect to fall in love with it when I had to resort to using it one day when I was in a real rush. I didn't even have time to apply concealer in my usual places. I just used the sponge that comes with it, some to entire face then used my powder brush to buff it out. I also dusted a light layer of my Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder over it and my skin looked airbrushed… Completely flawless. Even with blush, Highlighter, etc over it or all blended together in a Beautifully natural looking finish. It didn't look cake nor did it ctease and it lasted through most of the day. I love that it has Sacylic Acid and even though when I have time, I use my preferred BB Cream or Tinted Moisturizer, I am now buying my 3rd one of these because they are so convenient when I want to save some time and still look on point. This is the best foundation I have ever used. I've tried SEVERAL foundations, including high end ($60+) and I still always come back to this one. It sits on my skin flawlessly, doesn't cake, doesn't rub off, even when I sweat in the summer! I've tried 3 other foundations since this was discontinued and still cannot find anything that provides the coverage that this foundation provides while not looking cakey. I recently resorted to amazon to purchase the foundation from a 3rd party and purchased 12 of them because I love it so much. It seems to be increasingly difficult to find and many third party sellers are selling it for 30+ dollars each. PLEASE bring this foundation back! The super stay powder foundation (without salicylic acid) that is currently for sale does not sit on my skin without looking cakey. This powder has an amazing smoothing/blurring effect when applied on top of foundation. I use it in my Tzone to set and smooth over pores and It gives a little extra coverage as well, but not as much as a foundation powder. It really smooths the skin and blurs pores and any dry texture. I don’t like to use it all over the face, my base looks a little heavy to me when I do but I love to use it strategically just where I want a little more coverage and to blur. Love that it has mineral based SPF too, this powder is a great way to touch up my base anywhere it needs it and reapply SPF throughout the day. Love it! ❤️mikel.l
I used this product for about 4 to 5 years. I remember finding this product stocking it on the shelves at Target. I had even worse oily prone skin. (T zone was the worst) this powder would cover my blemishes, did we have dark circles at 18? Surely not. But this product did wonders. It helped hide the acne I hated without looking cakey. It didn't make my skin overly oily. It didn't cause me to break out more. It didn't leave dry patches. The pigment and cover was great. It was buildable. But holy f*ck is that kickback rough!! The design of the bottle is horrible, but inside was make up coverage gold! I cannot believe I ran across this!! I used this faithfully for years and just stopped one day. Hmm.. I've used this off and on for years. It works great over a foundation, tinted moisturizer, or alone on well moisturized skin. All depending on the coverage you want to achieve. I prefer a more natural skin-like finish, so use it alone, but if I want more coverage I use a tinted moisturizer under. It doesn't irritate my sensitive/reactive skin–I have psoriasis–and doesn't overtly accent age lines, when applied lightly. I use a dual-fiber stippling brush, gently sweeping and buffing the product onto my skin. The 'hidden' compartment containing the brush and mirror is cute While it keeps the mirror from being coated with powder, I'd rather it was just a standard compact. I'm not sure who designed the brush, but they should go back to the drawing board, or better yet, scrap the idea. I get what they were trying to achieve with the fan shape, but it's too small and the bristles are too short and too stiff. Kudos to anyone who has found a use for it, please let me know if you have. Well first of all, the powder is not completely translucent, it has a peach undertone but that didn't bother me. The sifter will pour out way too much powder but I have found that adding a piece of tape and only letting open a couple of holes helps. It is a decent powder that will set your makeup, but it won't stop your makeup from creasing or showing fine lines as the company advertises. What I truly dislike is the heavy fragrance that will give you a headache and mess with the rest of your face makeup. For example, after setting my makeup with it, my face makeup will smell like the powder so the scent lingers and that is not good if you are going to use this around eyes for setting concealer or eye primer. I received the Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in Translucent Extra Coverage free from Influenster and Rimmel in exchange for my honest review . I didn't know the Coty Airspun powder was part of Rimmel, but I've been curious to try it for a while. Now that I have, I see why it's been around forever! The powder's so finely milled that it can be fluffed on, pressed on, packed on, or baked, and that simply gives different levels of matte-ness. Any application seems to set down the foundation so that it doesn't budge. It smooths a bit too, though doesn't completely erase pores. The finish is velvety satin and lasts all day, though I haven't tried it yet with extremely matte or extremely dewy foundations. The extra coverage translucent shade has a pink undertone when swatched, but disappears on my skin, so may be too pale for deeper skin tones. The fragrance and fragrant ingredients worry me with potential for skin irritation with long-term use, but the vintage makeup scent isn't as strong as I've heard it is. I got loose face powder cause I read good reviews. And I wanted an alternative for everyday look instead of my Laura Mercier translucent powder. I've used it twice so far and the scent is Too strong for my preference. But this powder is extremely refined. If u press or rub it between two fingers you would barely feel the texture which is a great thing. That makes it almost undetectable and less settling into creases and fine lines. I've used it on my dewy liquid foundations. ( Maybelline dewy Smooth+ Revolution Super dewy skin tint) without any setting spray. I lasted 3-4 hours without any touch-ups. I have used this powder for decades. It was pricy when I first started using it and is pricy now but it has consistently performed for me and the product is of good quality, so I justified using it. However, I was dismayed to see, as previous reviewers have mentioned, that although the price has remained high (and let's be honest, has leapt up in pounds increments over the last 5 years) Clinique has sneakily reduced the amount for the same price by over 25%! If you had been upfront and brought this to consumers attention, then that would have been the honest way to deal with your customers. It sounds to me that Clinique that been hiring marketeers from companies such as the chocolate manufacturers – just put the price up but reduced the amount, they'll never notice, consumers are stupid. We're not and by doing this you are damaging not only Clinque's reputation but also that trust between you and your loyal consumers. We are fed up of being treated in such an underhand way. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I, for one, after many decades of loyalty will be searching elsewhere, not because the quality of the product has changed but because of the disrespect the brand is showing to its customers.bettyboo67

Please clinique can you provide a powder puff with a little ribbon to put 2 fingers through or have a option to buy a powder puff. I do own the powder brush but must admit i am old school where there is something about using a powder puff makes me feel special while putting on my makeup. please bring in a powder puff for you wonderful loose powder which i use in transparency neautral. Can you also bring back you wonderful green compact cases for your pressed powders like almost powder makeup which i also like to use,the mirror cases is not the same. Everyone i know adored the green packaging plus people new that it was classic clinique.evielyn

I have used this product for a couple of years now. While it is not as heavy coverage as other foundations out there, it works for my every day needs. I usually apply primer, concealer, and then this product. With my oily skin, I have noticed that without primer the powder melts off. But it is natural looking, and it is comfortable on my face. Most foundations irritate my skin and I break out even worse. Unfortunately, I am in my 30s and I'm getting wrinkles too. So it's not easy to find a perfect foundation. As I get older I wonder how this powder will look on me but for now it is just fine. As long as I apply this properly, it looks natural for my day to day life. I use a Clinique liquid foundation for any special occasions. But let's be real: as a mom there's no point to be ridiculously dolled up, I just want to not have a red face and oily skin. I went into the store to try to find a replacement for a powder foundation I used but that has been unavailable for months. The lady looked at my face, my jaw, and my arm to find the shade that would go with my pink undertones and light-ish skin. The shade she recommended is PERFECT! Not too light like most of them I've tried. And the makeup goes on with enough coverage using a makeup brush that it covers skin discolorations with no need to use the included sponge for "extra coverage." Though the sponge does help to get to some annoying spots if necessary. I'm going to grab a few more of these befoe they run out!Cheryl
I’m in early forties and I always come back to this. I have been using it for years. I have combo skin, more on the oily side and this powder works great as an easy everyday foundation. It stays on well and last all day. I’ve been using it for years and I like that it does not settle into my lines and makes my pores look better. I have received this product from Topbox circle and I was so excited because I have used other setting powders in the past and nothing really compares to this one. Other setting powders claim to blur fine lines, but always fall short. This powder has a subtle blurring effect which leaves the face looking so natural. I bought two shades – Classic Ivory and Sun Beige. I was thinking that these would be kind of similar to the hourglass ambient lighting powders. Classic Ivory is definitely too light for me but I was thinking about using it as a really subtle highlight under the eye. I think it's too pigmented for that specific purpose, but it is really pretty and the color is unique, however too light for me. The Sun Beige just doesn't seem to have ANY pigment. Even the highlighter side alone had to be built up over and over to just look glowy. And the other side literally didn't show up at all. Maybe I just got a bad one? Because the one that isn't my color seems amazing for people with very fair skin. The one that does match seems like a completely different, useless, not pigmented product. I'm very loyal to my By Terry Hyaluronic powder but tried this as it came with my Space NK Advent Calendar. It's lightweight and not too powdery – it doesn't create a dusty effect on the skin. It seems that negative reviewers are attempting to use this powder as a foundation, not as a FINISHING powder. Don't blame the product for user error. I've used this product for years, along with the Clear Complexion Concealer and it's a great combination. As described in the "How to Use" it's best gently applied after liquid foundation and concealer. It's great at setting my make-up and reducing shine for long lasting wear. If applied gradually, it doesn't cake on, become discolored, or settle in smile lines. To provide more even coverage, I prefer to use a powder brush rather than the puff that comes with the compact. It's nice to have the puff though, if you're using the compact on the go! Just remember, less is more and this is not a product that is intended to conceal.Han816
I only used this product as my lifesaver sometimes. In case I have any accident on my makeup or when I don't have my foundation with me. It is worth it. I also carrying in my purse all the time. Great powder! I use the Medium Meets Deep shade for contour over my light skin. I only use hypoallergenic makeup because I have breakout prone skin and this is fabulous. No breakouts, blends very well over already set foundation, and the color is lovely. Compared to the salicylic acid powder in the white compact, this one is far superior. I was so excited to see the "Build Your Own Kit" and when I got to the Set part, I was up in the air between the Perfect Setting Powder and this one. I had tried other illuminating setting powders in the past and they ended up being too glittery. This didn't look like it would be like the other powders I'd tried in the past, so I went ahead and included this as one of the items in my set. I finally used it today as I kept it natural, but wanted a little bit of extra glow. And I wasn't disappointed! I'm blown away how beautiful this looks. It gave my skin that all over glow, but not like I used highlighter as my setting powder. It's subtle and very flattering, accentuating my high points and looks gorgeous. I've used the Perfect Setting Powder before and loved how light it is, how well it blurs for an overall airbrushed look and how well it blends into the skin. The Illuminating Setting Powder has all the amazing parts of the Perfect powder, but just add the overall lit-from-within glow and that, to me, truly perfection. I love love love how my skin looks using this and definitely plan on using this as my primary setting powder all summer long.
This is a great setting powder with a unique formula. I noticed that when I put my brush into it, the powder got picked right up without a lot of fallout and without being dropped back into the lid. It was like a magnet! I thought that was pretty cool. It seems like it's heavier than other setting powders I've used which seems to make it less messy. This powder would be great for someone with dry skin because it doesn't set down dry like most powders. It leaves a bit of dewyness behind which was very unique for a setting powder. My skin gets oily, so for me, I felt like I had to apply more because of this. I blew through the sample I had in days, so I likely won't repurchase. This setting powder is a great lightweight, finely milled powder that I found was best used for setting my entire face and locking my more emollient foundations in place and preventing them from sliding around. It definitely helped the lasting power of my slicker foundations (like my holy grail stick foundation – you know the one that comes in the triangular tube!) but when used to set my under-eye concealer, I found the texture of the powder just too drying. It would tend to emphasize the fine lines and creases of my undereyes, which are probably the driest areas of my oily-combination face. It made my face look cakey when used to set underneath my eyes, so I didn't enjoy this powder in that sense, but when lightly dusted around my face everywhere else, it was fine and didn't make my face look ashy at all, even in 4K pictures and natural light. I don't have any experience with this product under flash photography, however, and am rarely ever photographed under those conditions so I can't attest to its performance in that arena. I don't like how messy the packaging is – when you open the sifter top, a lot of the product is already built up in the package even when you first purchase it so getting powder in the air is almost unavoidable. The amount of product you get is absolutely insane and how anyone will ever be able to use this all up is crazy unless they're baking with TONS of it every day. All in all, it controls my oil well, and prolongs the wear of my foundation but doesn't do so as well as my HG compact powder I have in the chunky pink case made by that Celebrity brand because that stuff goes on flawlessly with even a thin veil and never makes me appear cakey or dried out. Hello, I have been using the Duel Finish powder for over 40 years now. The color I’m using now is Buff ll Cool. I simply love this product! Duel Finish does what it says! You can simply where it just as a light touch up for a casual day or if your wanting something more dramatic use it as a foundation with the soft white sponge that comes with it. I’ve been using Dual Finish in Matte Clair (N) for over thirty years in this same color. It’s very fine, silky light, it evens out my skin tone with no breakouts. A great Medium to start with if you’re not sure. It comes with a soft pad and a sponge. At my age now, I only use the pad for the loose powder finish. I tried another baked powder by another brand and I loved the color but the darker pigments in it made my dark spots pronounced. This just blends them out. I love Lancôme DF, it’s a classic. I have good skin I keep it clean and moisturized with Lancôme Tonique Douceur alcohol-free it is a great hydrator. Use whatever moisturize lotion on top of that, then add Dual Finish. Then makeup. I always remove my makeup at night I use Lancome Bi-Facial to remove mascara (I use Idole mascara by Lancome), and Bi-Facial FACE is fantastic for cleansing the face w/o drying it out. I am 65 female, naturally greying dark brunette, green eyes. I also use Lancome Kohl eyeliner in Moss. I don’t wear makeup every day but I moisturize every day. Recommend Lancôme Dual Finish face powder for any adult age young to old.

I have used this powder for decades. It was pricy when I first started using it and is pricy now but it has consistently performed for me and the product is of good quality, so I justified using it. However, I was dismayed to see, as previous reviewers have mentioned, that although the price has remained high (and let's be honest, has leapt up in pounds increments over the last 5 years) Clinique has sneakily reduced the amount for the same price by over 25%! If you had been upfront and brought this to consumers attention, then that would have been the honest way to deal with your customers. It sounds to me that Clinique that been hiring marketeers from companies such as the chocolate manufacturers – just put the price up but reduced the amount, they'll never notice, consumers are stupid. We're not and by doing this you are damaging not only Clinque's reputation but also that trust between you and your loyal consumers. We are fed up of being treated in such an underhand way. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I have been using this product for years, and I love it. It was really hard to get for a couple months and I contacted customer support to see if it was being discontinued. I was told they were re-packaging the product. I just received a new jar and the product looked the same. I couldn't tell what the "repackaging" was so I flipped it over to see how much the jar contains. The new packaging contains 25g, whereas the old packaging contains 35g. I adore this powers,i use it either with superbalanced foundation in Alabastor or on its own. The little brush is fine for touch up's but not on large areas of the face. Please clinique can you provide a powder puff with a little ribbon to put 2 fingers through or have a option to buy a powder puff. I do own the powder brush but must admit i am old school where there is something about using a powder puff makes me feel special while putting on my makeup. please bring in a powder puff for you wonderful loose powder which i use in transparency neautral. I will start out with the good bits: this comes with a lot of product so lasts a long time and this powder gives me the least ashy finish for my dark skin tone compared to other loose powders yet still manages to give me that nice highlighted look. I do not experience flashback in pictures with this setting powder either. However, this powder feels quite drying for me sometimes and my concealer ALWAYS creases when I use this powder. The only thing that reduces creasing slightly is if I bake with it but even then my under eyes are not completely creaseless. I wouldn’t recommend using too much of this because it can give a more powdery and heavy look if you’re not too careful. Often this powder will crack underneath my eyes and come off at the corners, I have dry under eyes so wouldn’t recommend it to those with dry under eyes. This has been relegated to the loose powder that I use for trips to the grocery store i.e. nothing important so that I can finish it. I don’t think I will be buying this again.renee.a
This is the best setting powder that I have ever used. I tried the fenty one before but there’s no other like this one. I use it on the places that I highlight with concealer, which are under my eyes, chin, and the middle of my forehead. The color compliments my skin tone well, especially compared to a lot of other options out there, and the finish is nice and smooth too. In my high school years my theatre director introduced me to Ben Nye makeup. I was shook to actually see how pigmented their fx make up is. We used it for every play even the makeup remover. After we did our make up we had to help each other put this powder on our faces to keep the make up throughout our rehersals and performances.
