20 Best Face Primer For Oily Skin And Large Pores (Feb 2023 Update)

I typically have dry to normal skin. This primer is very hydrating, and I love the pump on it. But I feel like it doesn't keep my foundation in place. I've tried a few different ways before reviewing. Usually my foundation stays in place all day but I feel like it kinda if causes it to swipe right off. Usually I can touch my face and my foundation doesn't come off (with powder and setting spray) but using this primer it tends to come right off with a touch especially later in the day after wearing it for a few hours. I love this primer so much! I will never get another one to use in my face, this primer makes my face clear and soft. It doesn’t give me any pimples or acne. Since, I started using this primer I don’t use any other one because it gives me the support and the coverage I want! I really recommend this primer and I hope you guys love it so as I do!! I bought after all the reviews I saw About it. Plus, it’s considered a “dupe” of its several High end competitors. Which, I agree. I wouldn’t be surprised if Elf was the genius formula creator behind all the big brand products too, instead of being the brand coming out with Similar affordable products that are more wallet realistic for the Everyday consumer after the other big brand releases. They totally could be doing both. Lots of cosmetic companies sell their formula privately and let others brand it with their name. NYX and NARS, for example. Anyway, made my makeup last snd apply beautifully. Soft and nice smelling. Great price and was confident in buying regardless of reviews, because ELF is consistent and reliable with the products they put out to sell. They always do the job and then there is so many that do the job so great, they save you money from spending it on the more expensive brand that may not be worth the hype or worth getting addicted to when it’s ridiculously priced for its packaging snd not the actual formula. Elf isn’t cheap, they make beauty products accessible to the everyday consumer. Elf doesn’t play it safe, they keep it simple. If they played it safe, they wouldn’t release amazing products at insanely low prices that sometimes also mirror that trendy viral product triple its price. This actually reminds me of Tatcha Silk Canvas. Plus, I loved not having to come up with a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation on why it was smart for me to buy a 50 dollar primer to my boyfriend who just learned what primer was a month ago. “You paid 50 bucks for something that is invisible and doesn’t even show up on your skin?” He’s slowly learning, emphasis on slowly. When I relayed the importance of primer just like primer at his job when he used to paint houses, which painting and makeup is so similar it’s crazy, he seemed to understand and agree. It’s all about how you prep the canvas, whether house or face, for the product you put on it. If your primer is a great formula, the end result will be great too. If you want your end result product to last and look good and even and clean; don’t skip the primer and don’t skip out on a good one too. Not all expensive makeup products are worth it, price isn’t always reflective on if it’s a good formula or not. I got this in Clear, number 400. Nice soft silky texture, almost like a serum but not. Sinks into skin easily. Is hydrating but not greasy. Didn't make my makeup seperate. Hydrated under my matte foundation, making my foundation not dry and cakey looking. Didn't break me out, so it has gentle ingridents. Feels light on the skin like you're not wearing anything. Has no scent. Didn't exactly blur pores or make my complextion/skin texture look fantastic, but looked better than without the primer. The price is reasonable.
I love that it's clear because I have a dye allergy to colored products. I don't like how it's not packaged in plastic and anyone can open it and use it in stores, which they do. A little doesn't go a long way but the product doesn't run out super fast.Jen Miller

I adore this product and have purchased it for myself and girlfriends many times. It illuminates your skin! Helps soften and hide minor wrinkles in photos, creates this dewy but NoT greasy look. So many times while I’m wearing it people will comment to me about how good my skin looks. Girlfriends will ask if I had Botox or work done and even my dermatologist ask what the product was bc she wanted it. The saddest part of this is I think they discontinued this product.Cindy C.

You’d think by the age of 40 I would have used a primer by now. But nope, fresh out of the gate newb. Again I believe I did some research (YouTubing) on this and primers in general. Which ones were the best and then looked for dupes of the best. I had always heard of primer but I figured it’s main use was to make makeup last longer and usually I’m only wearing it for a handful of hours at night so I don’t need it for regular day use. First application; Immediate mattifying on the shine, kept it at bay all day. Its a silicone feeling smooth primer. After I used it probably 2 or 3 times, I noticed cystic acne like reactions along my mouth and jaw area. It almost looked like blisters. So sadly, its a no for me. I used to enjoy using this primer when I was in my 20's but now I prefer more hydrating primers with a dewy, glowy finish over a matte finish. But nonetheless this is still a very nice primer. I feels nice on my skin and the make up holds up well over the primer. I reduces the appearance of my pores on and around my nose which is definitely important to me when searching for primers. My foundation goes on smooth. I would definitely recommend this primer. It's at a nice price point – way less expensive than high end brands so I save you a lot of money. I have normal to combination skin – my skin can get dry during the winter. I use liquid foundations, all the different foundations I have work very well with this primer. I have pores on my nose which is really the only problem area on my face so I always try to find a good pore filler primer (which this one is good for).caresse.e

This is for the green primer… I think this is GREAT for counter-acting redness in your skin tone! It worked awesome for me. I have combo/dry 'reactive' skin (heat, cold, embarrassment, etc.). I use it over my regular moisturizer, pretty much as a primer before foundation. It's light feeling, feels slightly moisturizing, but to me, doesn't feel silicone-y (which apparently, it DOES have in it – I don't usually like silicone based stuff), REALLY does cut the red/pink tones and seems to smooth the skin and prolong makeup longevity some. I can even wear it without foundation but just have to be conscious to do a thin application and then top with a skin-toned finishing powder. No scent that I noticed, decent price (like $9 or so, I think it was). Convenient tube/packaging – yeah, ya gotta shake it a bit before each use – but easy enuf. I used the new Maybelline color corrector pen in green before I got this and that works pretty good as well, but I prefer this NYX one. The Maybelline one is slightly drier and thicker in consistency so doesn't spread as easily as this, That one would be great for just spot correcting. This NYX one covers your whole face so easily and feels great on. No breakouts and I've even fallen asleep once or twice with this on (bad, yes, I know!).anja.p

I’m a strong believer in utilizing a brand’s primer with their foundation, especially when they are formulated to work together. If you try a new foundation and your results are completely different from most users, check the primer. There are many different primers that all target different areas. If your foundation is super matte, adding an equally mattifying primer of a different brand could negatively affect the texture and overall formula of the foundation. I’m not saying you should never mix and match, it just requires some trial and error. The Soft Matte Pro Filt’R Primer however, takes the guess work out of my Fenty 400 foundation application. I instantly notice a difference in the finish if I don’t use the primer. The primer has a soft light scent, is super moisturizing and allows the foundation to effortlessly glide over my pores. I’ve always been an oily mess. Despite medications, matte primers, using other tricks like layering powder under my foundation…I always end up looking smeared. I tried this primer and the instant retouch in trial size. This mattifying primer kept the oil at bay even when faced with the Caribbean (and NYC) sun and heat! This primer really helps absorb the excess oil in my T-zone. I think it does a good job of making sure I don't get too shiny, which has caused my makeup to smear, crease, and get cakey in the past (all in my T-zone of course). I have huge pores on my nose and cheeks, and this primer helps blur them. I like the light, smooth texture and the smell, too. You also don't even need to use a whole lot of it for it to be effective (especially if you also use the Pro Filt'r foundation like me). I started off as a classic putty primer gal but about 6 months ago I switched over to the salicylic formula after I noticed I was getting some breakouts. I’m not sure how much “fighting” this primer actually does but I will say that my skin doesn’t breakout as much (aside from the occasional 1 or 2 on the chin area) and I noticed that my skin doesn’t get greasy or feel oily at the end of the day like it did when I was using the “luminous” formula. I do have fairly product sensitive skin and this primer keeps my makeup on all day and doesn’t strip my skin if it’s natural moisture or react to the products I use as a part of my daily skincare routine. Also, it lasts FOREVER! I literally just bought my 2nd jar after using the previous one everyday for 6 months. Definitely worth a try in my opinion 🙂libby.b

Every monthly cycle I breakout on my face, neck, and chest. Ugh! I have spent decades battling this issue and I’m 43! So as I’m aging, I’m also needing to keep my skin more hydrated. I’ve only been using this for about a week, but have already noticed a big difference in my skin! You all, this primer here is a GAME CHANGER! I’ve used some of the higher end brands and they just DO NOT compare. This stuff literally shrinks your pores and give you a such a smooth finish and lay with your makeup. Every time I use this everything just lays in a synchronized way. I pray NYX never gets rid of this product. I just might have to buy up the entire stock whenever I go to my nearest target to purchase just to be on the safe side. I received this in a subscription box at some point and it had been put away in a box of beauty samples. I came across some of these today and decided to try them out. This one is a nice formula, it's creamy and super pigmented. I just wasn't super in love with it, but I can't point to any specific reason why, so I won't remove any stars for that. The reason for the missing star is that it is not very long lasting. I put this on in my bedroom to try it out and within 10 minutes of me just cleaning up my vanity I already would have needed to reapply in the real world. The color, lifeguard, is a very pretty deep red color. Not my red, I tend to go for bright blue reds, but this is a very nice deep blue red.jennifer.h

I have an oily tzone. So I use a matte primer in my tzone. I had been using Hourglass Mineral Veil and had heard this formula was so similar. I would say is is very much like HG. I used the whole bottle. It did hold back oils. I didn't use it on my normal skin. I use something more moisturizing. I do recommend if you enjoy Hourglass Mineral Veil you may love this primerlisa .s

Having combination skin and a T-zone that gets super shiny very fast, I haven't yet found the Holy Grail Primer I've been looking for, but this is as close as I've gotten. I do not wear foundation or powder, only a bit of concealer here and there where I need it, so I basically wear this alone just in my T-zone to even out the texture and mattify it as much as I can. I have tried a million different brands that promise to mattify for 8 hours or 12 hours or whatever, and none of them do. For a couple hours, tops, and then you either have to reapply or blot. Even though the target of this one isn't primarily to mattify, I find it does so anyway and that it lasts the longest of all the others I've tried. I still do have to blot during the day, but less frequently than I do with other primers, even ones whose main purpose is to mattify. It also does even out the skin tone and reduce the appearance of pores. I can't speak to whether this works well under a lot of makeup, but I can certainly apply a small amount of concealer no problem. It also doesn't cause me to break out and it feels light on my skin. Is it perfect? For me, no. But is it the best one I've tried so far? Yes. I'll keep using it unless I eventually find something better.RennieLynn

First off, I would not have spent the money on this product had I not received a sample of it to try a few years ago. This stuff is magic for me! I put it on top of my foundation along my T zone and upper cheek area-it instantly smoothes out my skin; both pores and fine lines. I have deep set lines in my forehead (have had them since I was a teenager) and this product helps blur them. A little bit goes a long way! I have tried it under my foundation but it’s magic effect is way less noticeable, so that’s a no for me unless I don’t wear foundation that day. I had heard so many amazing things about this primer through a girlfriend, so I decided to try out a sample size. I hadn’t used a primer in a while since I hadn’t really found one I had liked. Trying it out for the first time I wasn’t sure about the consistency but after I saw how it made my face look smooth and my pores look smaller I was instantly interested. After completing my whole set of makeup I loved the way the primer changed my look. I think this specific primer works well for people with oily skin. I bought both this and the Pacifica Cherry Matte Mattifying Primer to see how well they worked at reducing shine. The Pacifica product was meh (unless you want to still look "glowy") but this product was amazing. Just the tiniest bit patted on my fingertip is enough to completely get rid of any shine, and it lasts longer than anything else I've ever used. It needs to be lightly patted onto the skin, not smeared on. Use it very, very sparingly and one tiny jar will last for months. I hope they never stop selling this!Nature Lover

I have been searching far and wide for a dupe for my Hydrablur Primer by Dermalogica because it is one of my HG but I order it online and it is expensive. I found this product and the ingredient list is simple yet effective & non-comedogenic (a big plus for me)! This product creates a smooth base and fills in the textures I want. I scoop out a small amount with a tiny spoon and warm the product on my fingertips before applying to my t-zone, chin, and smooth out on my cheeks. I recommend having your skin moisturized well before using this product!! If I notice that there are some areas on my face that need more product, I light dab a tiny amount and work the product in. This product is in a cute container that is very portable, but on that note, for the price point and amount of product given it is kind of pricey for what you get. It has been working for me thus far but I use sparingly – less is more with this one y'all.Kait

UPDATE (3-3-21) I don't like the fact that even a tiny amount makes my liquid and my mineral powder foundation appear like my skin is peeling off where I've applied this. I've used it a total of 3 times now, using only the tip of my pinky finger and then only a tiny amount with a Q-Tip. I have only used this with Loreal's Pro-Matte foundation and their mineral foundation. It's a tiny jar for the price you pay! Holy Moley! It's a very smooth, satiny, or even silky, almost delicate texture. So, I'm on the fence about the Magic Perfecting Base Primer. I decided to purchase the Infallible Matte foundation to see if it would hell keep my face looking good or at least prevent the foundation from making my skin look dry. I applied a very tiny amount to key areas i would like to cover (forehead, smile lines, tiny line on my chin, nose..)and I waited a good 10 minutes or longer before I applied the foundation. My nose looked like skin was peeling after a sunburn, it was the product-I lightly brushed it off and thought maybe I used more than a tiny amount? No idea. But all I had to do is just lightly brush off what got cakey and was good to go! No messy look on that area after. I'm happy my face didn't break out! That is a major plus! I don’t buy a lot of black radiance products but when I saw that this was a poor minimizing primer I decided to give it a shot. I have been using this for about three days and I have to say that I am really pleased with how it truly minimizes the poor and gives my make up a matte finish without it looking completely mat. It still looks natural which I love so I’m not trying to look like a filter or anything but I like to look as natural as possible in and this minimizes pores and gives me a natural matte finish without it looking too over the top. It doesn’t have much of a smell to it and the crew the texture is like a satin feels so it feels nice it doesn’t feel oily or greasy it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily or greasy either. I used this several times. I have combination oily skin with a slight red color. My skin is far from perfect after having my son due to acne so I always try to use a primer to help conceal a bit of the texture and redness. I haven't noticed a difference from the green tint or from holding my makeup or texture. I feel like it is just an extra step. This primer is actually really good. A glides up on my face and it just melts into my skin. It definitely helps my make up last as well as it sets a foundation for my foundation. I’m able to use my oil base sunscreen and it not mess up with this primer. This has without doubt been the best product I have ever tried to instantly control my shiney oily/combination skin. It feels so good on the skin and mattifies without looking dull. My skin stays shine free for the 6 hours proclaimed and even after this, the shine is so much more subtle than I have ever experienced, more dewy than the usual sweaty oil slick look. I wear it alone and haven't tried with makeup over the top as I'm looking to find a foundation/tinted moisturiser for oily combination skin I like first (nightmare for very fair skin tone at the best of times). This product is brilliant. I have lost count how many anti shine powders and blotting papers I have used from all different brands and I am always oily and shiny within a few hours of using them. I thought I'd give this a try and now I use this product over my make up everyday on my cheeks and forehead and I stay shine free literally all day. It even makes your skin super soft to touch and blurs pores, no oily greasy feeling anymore. Overall, I'm pleased. For the first 4 months, I was thrilled – no shine all day long. It was amazing! But now, perhaps with the change of seasons into summer, it's less effective. After 3 hours, I'm starting to look oily again, so I'm back to using blotting papers with this product, but I'm blotting just a few times per day now instead of hourly. Background: I have very sensitive, reactive, acne-prone skin with Type II Rosacea. My t-zone is always very oily and shiny, and so for years I've been using blotting papers to absorb the oil. Even then, within an hour my skin was visibly oil again. I started using this Shine Stopper back in late-January (it's now July), and so I've got 6 months of experience with it. I finally caved and purchased this primer as I have heard nothing but rave reviews about it. The internet and all its glory makes this seem like it is the secret for porcelain doll skin. Well I really tried, but it just didn’t work out for me. I picked this up at Rexall for $14CDN. Not bad price wise but I was expecting a wee bit less for Elf. The texture is very creamy. Not greasy but similar to the texture of the Elf Miracle Eyeshadow Primer. No silicone texture either. As you can see in my picture, it has a light pink hue that blends away. I find after I apply it it doesn’t really do anything. It just blends into the skin. When I apply my foundation I find it mixes with the primer and my face just looks streaky. I have applied the primer and will work on my eyes, to give the primer a chance to ‘set’. Even then, it doesn’t make a difference. When I do get my face looking adequate, it doesn’t take long and my foundation disappears. There is no lasting power for this primer. Let me start by saying the Poreless Putty Primer was by no means my first primer nor my first product with a cream, gel or putty-like consistency. However, I was skeptical of a primer I needed to "pick up" and apply with my fingers much like a potted lip balm. I love reviews and claims but I often have to try something to honestly believe the claims so I did just that and chose this version because I've always preferred primers that helped blur or diminish the appearance of the pores on my cheeks near my nose. It took a couple of uses to fully understand this primer because initial I only applied it to certain areas of my face thinking it would clog pores then I used it all over but not really; meaning the amount was probably too negligible for actually priming my face evenly and it showed. Quick DISCLAIMER: This review is for when I initially tried this primer after it debuted; before any of the specialty brushes and when the suggested tips were to use your fingers to "warm up the product and evenly distribute over your face". So…I'll sum this up faster as everyone else has reviewed this and I'm sure my results after using it correctly are probably similar to those who had positive experiences. It IS easy to use and although I mentioned not using enough of it, you do not need a lot of product for a full face cover; I was just being overly cautious (lame). There is no strong fragrance and even though I used my fingers for my first jar it never looked sloppy or messy when opened because the formulas stays firm and literally melts with the heat from your fingertips. I can't honestly say I saw a big difference in my pores from just this product but it is possible. What is true is that I've got multiple face primers including a well-known brand's "Pore….sional" that was my hands down favorite for years and lately I've found myself using the elf product over that one because of the tackier grip that allows for longer lasting wear. Unlike that brand's product this isn't one to reapply over makeup during the day if you want a blurring effect (you can do this with the other) but I have travel sizes of the other should I want to touch that up.Beliza2

So I know people LOVE this stuff, and I wanted to love it too. It's been called a dupe for a more luxury brand's primer and it's the underdog darling of the makeup community. When I first put it on, it sank into my skin well and made my makeup look pretty darn good at first. But within an hour my makeup was breaking apart and separating off my face, which has never been a problem before using this product. Now, people might say that it's the type of makeup I'm using. Maybe not every brand's makeup is compatible with every primer. But I only use ELF makeup. At the very least, you'd expect their makeup to be compatible with their own primer! I also have very dry skin naturally due to an autoimmune problem, and never have an issue with my face getting too greasy and ruining my makeup, even in hot weather. If you don't have naturally smooth skin it just doesn't work. It's nice at first when you put it on but if you try to put foundation over it, it starts peeling off. It flakes off. I don't understand it! It's like once it dries onto your face, you can't touch it or mess with it or it will literally come off of your face easily. It definitely blurs pores and looks matte but.. it's not the best when it comes to staying on your face. And after a few hours it'll start to look cakey no matter how much you use. I bought after all the reviews I saw About it. Plus, it’s considered a “dupe” of its several High end competitors. Which, I agree. I wouldn’t be surprised if Elf was the genius formula creator behind all the big brand products too, instead of being the brand coming out with Similar affordable products that are more wallet realistic for the Everyday consumer after the other big brand releases. They totally could be doing both. Lots of cosmetic companies sell their formula privately and let others brand it with their name. NYX and NARS, for example. Anyway, made my makeup last snd apply beautifully. Soft and nice smelling. Great price and was confident in buying regardless of reviews, because ELF is consistent and reliable with the products they put out to sell. They always do the job and then there is so many that do the job so great, they save you money from spending it on the more expensive brand that may not be worth the hype or worth getting addicted to when it’s ridiculously priced for its packaging snd not the actual formula. Elf isn’t cheap, they make beauty products accessible to the everyday consumer. Elf doesn’t play it safe, they keep it simple. If they played it safe, they wouldn’t release amazing products at insanely low prices that sometimes also mirror that trendy viral product triple its price. This actually reminds me of Tatcha Silk Canvas. Plus, I loved not having to come up with a 30 minute PowerPoint presentation on why it was smart for me to buy a 50 dollar primer to my boyfriend who just learned what primer was a month ago. “You paid 50 bucks for something that is invisible and doesn’t even show up on your skin?” He’s slowly learning, emphasis on slowly. When I relayed the importance of primer just like primer at his job when he used to paint houses, which painting and makeup is so similar it’s crazy, he seemed to understand and agree. It’s all about how you prep the canvas, whether house or face, for the product you put on it. If your primer is a great formula, the end result will be great too. If you want your end result product to last and look good and even and clean; don’t skip the primer and don’t skip out on a good one too. Not all expensive makeup products are worth it, price isn’t always reflective on if it’s a good formula or not. There's a minor smoothing effect, but you have to use so much (the tube is tiny! Smaller than a lipstick) and it disappears under foundation anyway. Absolutely no point.NolaJ

This is perfect no-nonsense makeup: minimalist packaging, no perfume, no colour, it's barely there. Brilliant. A couple of dots on each eyelid and my shadow stays put literally all day. Great item is good as a primer doesn’t minimise wrinkles but does pores and help makeup look smoother etc! But it’s the size of a cream eye shadow on a stick if you no which I mean! Not even as big as a lipstick and if you use this all over your face like you do with a primer then it won’t even last 2 weeks so really expensive! I have SUPER oily skin and this primer mist is amazing. You just need to make sure your foundation is compatible with it. Keep in mind this particular primer is water based, therefore you need a foundation that is water based. Otherwise you will experience your foundation slide off, pill, look patchy, etc. If your foundation is silicone based then this primer will not work.krw94

I've played with this primer quite a bit, and now that I have it figured out I like it quite a bit. Firstly, it's super affordable and you get a lot of product. It projects a very fine mist, and it works well under a variety of foundation formulas. If you have large pores to fill, you might want to try something silicone-based since this is not going to do much for texture. It really does mattify, but you have to saturated your oily areas pretty well and let them dry completely before applying your color products. Also, try spraying your finger tips and rubbing this gently into your pores — do not spray onto your eye area or lips! I was suffering from chronically dry lips and realized that this was getting to close to my lip area and causing the issue. Great primer, just know your limits.meghan.f

I have been using this product now for over a year. I have heard IT DOES NOT COMPARE TO THE OLD VERSION. I get that and wish I had the chance to try but actually really enjoy using this. IT IS NOT THE NUMBER ONE OIL CONTROLING PRIMER OUT THERE. That being known this product is amazing! I use this WITH AND WITHOUT MAKE UP. I am now starting to do more glam type make up and use a lot of make up on my face. Having normal/slightly sensitive and oily skin I found the more make up I use the more the oils in my face come out. By using the product it reduce it by 90-95% vs no use I'm literally wiping oil and make up off, yes cringe. I even said no make up. My face routine I wash use eye and face moisturizers let then sink in a bit then spay a few all over my face and proceed to just use a little mascara. By using the spray it helps set in my moisturizer and doesn't not have the mascara bleed bc the moisturizer under the eye. So if your someone on a budget with light/mild oily skin I say take a chance, just no after a few hr use you still will have a light oil shine on certain areas (just blot off with tissue/oil removing wipe or CLEAN toilet seat cover lol). This super sticky primer goes on unlike any of the silicone-based primers I've used. I would compare it to Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer but better since there is no drying alcohol. I wear a tinted moisturizer but had to apply powder over it to stop the tackiness from coming through. This primer includes Cork Oak Root Extract which is a sensitizing ingredient. After washing off my makeup after wearing it for a night out, my face was red and burned upon applying The Ordinary Amino Acid + B5 30ml which has never happened to me before and I'm at the end of the bottle. I'd recommend this primer to those without sensitive skin who wear a full-coverage foundation too quell the stickiness.shannon.l

Applying the product is a unique experience – it almost feels like putting hair gel or glue on but it feels good? Not sure how best to describe it. I do know that it is a fantastically sticky primer. You don't have to use a lot. It doesn't make you look ashy. I didn't have any issues with using my foundation or other products on top of it. It is a light layer and my skin has been better for it. I feel like it creates a better barrier than creamier products I've used so I don't notice as many new blemishes popping up after a long-wear day (like 12 hours+). It also doesn't seem to add to or take away from my moisturizing routine. It has also helped me use less foundation – so maybe that's where the skincare benefits are really coming in. This is clear w a very "slick" feel due to high silicone content. I have huge pores and oily skin and this primer WORKS. It hides my pores much better than any other primer I've used. Better than Nyx Angel Veil, Dr Brandt's Pore Refining Primer, Cover FX Blurring Primer, IT Cosmetics Pores No More Primer, Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, FAB Coconut Smoothie Priming Moisturizer, YSL Touch Eclat Blur Primer, Benefit Porefessional, Benefit Pearl Porefessional, Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer, Too Faced Primed and Peachy Primer, Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer, Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer, and the list could go on forever. This beats every last one. I use it over the Youthful Glow Primer Serum (not a primer but a great serum) and under the Youthful Glow Serum Foundation (fabulous) but I think it would work beautifully under anything, or even alone. It gives a very "soft focus" effect. I can't recommend it enough. Really, try it. You'll be SO happy you did. I can't get enough!!! I like this primer which is why I bought 2 tubes. It gives my face a nice smooth look. The only issue I have with it is it thickens in the tube after a few uses which makes it harder to smooth over my skin. When I first open it it's a nice consistency but as I said it thickens after a few uses. Which is why I gave it only 4 stars.Nancy B.

This is my favorite primer of all time. I get Ipsy bags, so I've tried A LOT of different brands and formulas over the past few years. This is the primer I always come back to. I have combination skin and some fine lines on my forehead and eye area and this one does an excellent job blurring pores and lines while giving me a smooth base for makeup. It stays all day and doesn't slip or look cakey even if I've been sweating that day. Sometimes I just wear it alone without foundation or concealer and it still makes my skin look smoother.Sarah K L

I have dry skin with periodic hormonal acne. I get maybe one pimple per cycle (if that) which started maybe 2 years ago. Before that, I’ve never had acne. This stuff breaks me out in cystic acne every time I’ve used it. It doesn’t even prime or stay glassy so it’s basically useless. If you have oily skin, you won’t like this. But, if you have dry skin and love that glass skin look, then you might like it. It’s glossy and not sparkly. Some of the reviews are saying that this product is oily, but I think they might be thinking of another primer from this brand. This brand has several different primers are similar, so it would be easy to get them mixed up. This particular one is not oily at all. It's slightly creamy and blurs pores well. * COULD NOT FIND THE CORRECT TAG* this is the freeze fave bomb primer by XXREVOLUTION. Its very pricey and retails at £15. But I personally think its worth the money because the packaging is absolutely unreal, it has a wet look to it. And the consistency to the actual primer itself it's like a think yellow gel. It's smells lovely. Once applied it feels very sticky to beggin with but after a min it soaks right into your skin giving you a slight tightening feeling but leave your skin feels soft for whatever comes next. I use this before my usual primer because its a hydrating primer. Highly reccomend.carolann.h

This is my other go-to primer! I would’ve given it 5 stars if it were more easily accessible!! I have combo skin, but some days I can be oily all over. Today was one of those days, so I knew which primer to grab! It has a tint in it, but doesn’t add color. It glides over the entire face effortlessly. Very little product is needed. Has no scent, never breaks my skin out. I will even wear this alone some days. It definitely gives a blurring affect slightly matte. Doesn’t control oil extremely well which is why I use their no-sebum powder in combination on some days. Because it doesn’t control oil well, I believe this primer is perfect for most skin types. Not sticky, texture feels nice. This primer just works so darn well! Holds makeup all day. Would recommend since this is one of the products that I keep purchasing.rachael.b
