This is a mild, fragrance free cleanser suited to normal and dry skin types. I found that whilst it worked well for my dry, sensitive skin type, it is not as hydrating as the Cerave Hydrating gel to foam cleanser which is a newish release. It is a great first cleanse though, especially if you have makeup or sunscreen on as this cleanser is quite gentle and will not remove everything. I love using it during my non-active days (no retinol, acids etc) and for when I may have overdone it with chemical exfoliants and need to be gentle with my skin barrier. It also comes in a convenient pump and I use this on my body as well. Great if you have skin sensitivities and want something that isn't drying. Overall it is great value for money, comes in a large size that lasts a long time. It offers ceramides, hyaluronic acid and is gentle on the skin barrier. I've been using a prestige brand cleanser for years (it was $40 for much less product), but had to change to CeraVe after my doctor's recommendation. I started two Rx products from my doctor for adult acne, both of which extremely dry my face out. I needed a cleanser that is mild, doesn't contain soap, doesn't contain a lot of ingredients, and is lotion-like (doesn't foam). This cleanser is very effective and leaves my skin soft, clean, and hydrated. Doctor recommended too. Just remember it doesn't foam up like most cleansers, but you wet your face and lightly rub it into your face for 30 seconds or so, then rinse and pat dry your face. It gets your face ready for whatever you will be putting on it. At the very least, put on a moisturizer and SPF. I highly recommend this cleanser. I bought three of the largest bottles. The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a moisturising cleansing lotion that comes in a pump bottle. Like other CeraVe cleansers, this also contains three essential ceramides, and is fragrance free and non-comedogenic. This is perfect for my dry and sensitive skin, leaving it moist and soft without causing any irritation. This works best in my morning routine, as it is easy to use and helps to prepare my face for the rest of my routine. The cleanser does not lather up though does leave my skin feeling hydrated and nourished. One pump is sufficient for my whole face, but I don't think this product is intended to be used as a cleanser for a face full of makeup and sunscreen as it does not remove all the products. This cleanser is really strange. I received it as my birthday gift. It’s very thick and once you mix it with water and apply it and rinse it off, it leaves some kind of “film” on your skin. I don’t wear makeup so the only thing this product had to go though was my daily moisturizer (no other serums or anything). My face did not feel clean even after massaging the product thoroughly for two minutes or so. HOWEVER THE FRAGRANCE IN THIS PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE. I don’t understand why there has to be a fragrance added to skin care (hello irritation!) in the first place and let alone a product that washes off your face. Generally speaking I love tatcha products. The cleansing oil and the water cream are part of my regular line up. I have tried this product twice, when it came as part of a set, and both times after a week of use I ended up with dry, flaky skin that resolved after I stopped using it. My skin is typically normal-to-dry but I also live in a very humid climate, so I wouldn’t say dry skin is a major problem for me, but with this product it was noticeable. I couldn’t wear any face makeup for a week or two because it would highlight the flakey spots. It has a lovely smell, and it feels nice, and the light texture seems to vanish when it’s rubbed in (I’m not sure if it provides any exfoliating at all, it’s so fine and disappears so quickly), so two stars for “cosmetic elegance,” but ultimately it is not for me. I really can’t understand how this would be called “hydrating” or described as not “stripping” the skin because neither of those were true for me.sarahs310
This wash feels extraordinary and you really have to compliment tatcha for the formulation here if nothing else. There is a mild "grit" to the cleanser when it first comes out of the tube which immediately dissolves as you rub your hands together and spread it over your face. It never creates a harsh lather, but rather cleans your skin almost like an balm or an oil, easily removing dirt and oil from your pores. It feels very rich never leaves you dry. I think this would probably work for all skin types with exception to extremely oily skin. If you've got very oily skin or clogged pores, I recommend the Hyper Skin Gentle Brightening Gel, which is my favorite cleanser at the moment for reducing the look of pores. This Tatcha rice wash comes in second place, as it's super calming and I always reach for this when I want a cleanser to make me feel like I'm at a spa. Be aware that their is some mild fragrance. This really shouldn't cause any issues even on sensitive skin, BUT as always if you have a damaged skin barrier from going too hard on the chemical exfoliates or treatments (can look like small red patches or general stinging when applying products) then I would put down all fragrance products until your skin heals.boyskinJJ

I ended up liking this better than , which I didn't expect. The ingredients in that one interested me more, but in terms of actual daily use, I found this one more effective. That said, there are other cleansers I still like a lot better, for example Tatcha and AmorePacific. I know those are more expensive than this, but this one also isn't super cheap and I'd rather get better results. The gel-like texture for this cleanser felt too thick for me. For cleanser gels, I prefer ones like Youth to the People Superfood, not ones that feel like they're so thick it requires vigorous application in order to get a good lather from it. This one helped with my acne somewhat, but not enough to keep using. It also seemed to leave a bit more of a film on my skin at the end of washing my face.
Finally I have found a cleanser for my supper dry and sensitive skin this winter! This cleanser is what I wanted the like 5 cleansers I tried this winter before it to be. It's creamy and thick, very soothing on my skin which is feeling better. It lathers well and a little goes a long way. It does smell like fragrance free cleanser, but that's fine better that than a scent. Sorry as usual I know it says it's a makeup remover, but I don't know how effective just this product is at removing makeup on its own I only wear minimal makeup and I use micellar water before this and that seems perfect. I will say it says it's for all skin types but while it's gentle enough I don't know if I would use it if I had oily skin or combo skin more on the oily side. This might be my winter cleanser, have to see in summer. But I've been using it almost a week and I haven't broken out and it hasn't clogged my pores.
Pleasantly surprised by how effective this cleanser is while still being mild enough for when I’ve got a rough situation with my very sensitive yet acne-prone skin. I actually felt unimpressed with this product at first but inadvertently over-exfoliated my face one day and needed a super mild cleanser. This came to the rescue and I’ve been using it ever since! My only complaint is the smell. Yuck! It SMELLS “chemical-y” like it’s got tile cleaning agents in it or something. I know it does NOT have those types of ingredients but smelling like it is awful enough on its own. This is a very concentrated gel that turns to a super creamy lather, cleanses the skin beautifully and removes makeup very well! I love it and have two bottles – one in the shower and one by the sink. I use just a tiny pea sized amount if I'm not wearing makeup, and a little more if I am removing makeup. This cleanser has a dreamy consistency. Of all the PC cleansers, this is the one with the best foam, so if you like that feeling and consistency you'll probably love this. I do. It's a fluffy, light and abundant foam that rinses beautifully and cleans well. However, it is not hydrating. I bought this travel set on a whim and I noticed immediate results the moment I used it. I have mild to moderate rosacea and have struggled with redness, small bumps, and at times oily or flaky skin. I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. Today I tried Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser. First thoughts: I love that it has a pump so I don't need to open and close (and lose) the cap for the product. I also appreciate that it is fragrance free and dye free. Putting the product on my face I can confirm that there was no fragrance and it went on feeling smooth and not heavy or sticky. As it is a cleanser not a face wash I should not have been surprised, but I was surprised that it did not lather. The package recommends a pump or two of product, so I started with just one pump. This quantity was plenty to cover and wash my face. I smoothed the product on my face with my fingers but used a face cloth to take it off. My makeup residue came off easily with it, and almost immediately my forehead felt tight. My cheeks after washing felt very soft and my skin smooth and firmer. The sensation for me is different as I don't usually feel this aware of my face skin. My skin does not feel too tight as it does with soap, and it does feel moisturized even though I have not applied additional moisturizers. It has been several hours since I tried this product and my skin still feels smooth to the touch and firm without being too tight. So I’ll just say this, I was skeptical at first to buy this product. I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin. Before using, my cheeks were extremely irritated, dry, and red. The redness has almost completely disappeared and my face feels moisturized and smooth after using it. I also love that it doesn’t break me out. I received a deluxe sample of this product with a purchase. I was excited to try it out because I ran out of my other face washes and wanted to try something new. First con would be the scent. This product smells like a lemon cleaning spray. It does not smell good at all & has a strange overpowering scent. Clorox wipes would be my closest comparison. The next con would be the texture of the product. The product does not foam up at all. You will need to use a large amount as most just washes right off if you're using it in the shower. This product isn't cheap, so you will be wasting a lot of product to get your face fully washed & clean. Lastly, this doesn't do a good job removing makeup. You will need to wash your face multiple times if you do have makeup on. Afterwards, it makes your face feel VERY dry & you will need a really good cream to hydrate your face after. I LOVE this cleanser. I have very oil skin and it's difficult to find something that will balance my skin out without over drying it. I only use this at night unless my skin needs it in the morning. This is my new holy grail. My skin has never felt so good in my life. My skin feels refreshed after using this. This cleanser is on the pricey side but you don't need a ton. I love this facial cleanser. It has a clean light scent that smells refreshing. It is light, creamy, and actually cleanses my skin. After using the cleanser my skin feels very soft. I must admit prior to my purchase I noticed the number of complaints about packaging. I did reach out to Osea and they were super amazing. I wasn't expecting to receive a new pump. I e-mailed them to ask if their was a replacement I can purchase or use to help me pump the product out of the bottle. I informed them I was currently banging the bottle on my palms to get some out each wash. It wasn't a big deal, but I also read another reviewers comment that she purchased something to get the product out. I was willing to do the same as I seen Ulta had a tool that could be used that would fit inside the bottle. I don't remember the name of it, but it looked like a butter knife. I think it is used for make. However, I was able to request a new pump. They also provided me with instructions on how to use the pump. I wanted to come on to review product so I can help others to avoid damaging their pumps. Please see the tips below: You can try the following tips for unlocking or dispensing product: Hold the round cap piece that the pump comes through so it does not move( it tends to spin) Turn the dispenser counter clock-wise so the pump unlocks Prime the product by pressing down a few times to dispense Or remove the pump from the bottle and wipe the tube clean. My skin is sensitive and got to the point of being bright red and painful from any product I would use. I decided to simplify my routine and only use skin care that was approved for eczema, even though I don’t have eczema. I used this product and the first aid beauty’s moisturizer, that’s it for about 6 months! This didn’t suddenly make my skin perfect but it did help my skin to repair its barrier and really calm down irritation. I am now able to use other products and mostly not have a reaction. What a game changer! I love the oil to foam texture of this product. I’ve tried other similar products but nothing comes close to this one. The oil doesn’t slide off but sticks to your skin and lathers beautifully, without stripping the skin. I plan to use this all over as a face wash, body wash, and even hand wash as it helps with my very dry, very sensitive skin on my hands. (I find that it works on many skin types as my face is on the oily/combination side but my body and hands are dry to very dry.) As always, I love that it’s fragrance-free as I cannot tolerate scents. XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil is another great Avène cleanser. I use it on my face and I love that it doesn't feel like it is stripping my skin. It also doesn't feel like an oil to me. It rinses easily and my face is cleansed and calm. I started using the XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil when I was trying to recover from atopic dermatitis around my mouth. The XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil is soothing and my eczema redness is gone.. I hope the larger size becomes available soon. I am very happy with the results.Barbara C.

I am on the hunt for a new cleanser since Cetaphil decided to add niacinamide to their cleansers. I am one of those people where niacinamide causes irritation. I love the Vanicream moisturizing cream so I decided to try the gentle cleanser. I have combo skin with rosacea and use tretinoin .025 to help with the bumps. My skin can tolerate the tretinoin just fine so it's not overly sensitive. The cleanser left my face squeaky clean. Which means it stripped away all the natural oils and left it very dry and tight. After using it for awhile, it seemed to cause an increase in red bumps and irritation. I swapped back to my old Cetaphil cleanser (I have 2 bottles left) and it was pretty calm the next morning. I am now trying Fresh Soy to see how that works.heidi.a
I was hesitant to buy this because I was worried it wouldn’t clean well or that it would just be a basic boring and drying foam cleanser. Boy, was I wrong. This has such a wonderful rich, creamy lather that spreads well over the skin without a need to add another pump. One pump cleans my whole face. It thoroughly cleanses my face as well, I had a tiny (it was unnoticeable unless you got close to me) pimple above my lip, and I literally felt it wash away using this. It was there before I washed my face, and I felt it when I started to wash my face, and suddenly it was gone! I am amazed with this face wash and I will never use another one because this is perfect for me. I won’t say it leaves me feeling “hydrated” as some other reviewers say, but it leaves me feeling clean but not overly stripped. I follow with my serum and Cerave lotion and I’m good to go! I honestly can't come up with a single complaint about this face wash. The skin on my face is sensitive and acne prone. I also have combination skin. This is why I was interested in trying this face wash out. I usually try to make educated decisions with it comes to my beauty product purchases, doing my best to stay away from dyes, fragrances, and hard chemicals. This product has a very mild scent and it's like a thick liquid when it comes out. It turns into a nice foamy texture (not bubbly) and glides on my skin nicely. I notice it cleanses my skin well leaving hardly anything behind and doesn't dry out or irritate my skin. This is a mild, fragrance free cleanser suited to normal and dry skin types. I found that whilst it worked well for my dry, sensitive skin type, it is not as hydrating as the Cerave Hydrating gel to foam cleanser which is a newish release. It is a great first cleanse though, especially if you have makeup or sunscreen on as this cleanser is quite gentle and will not remove everything. I love using it during my non-active days (no retinol, acids etc) and for when I may have overdone it with chemical exfoliants and need to be gentle with my skin barrier. It also comes in a convenient pump and I use this on my body as well. Great if you have skin sensitivities and want something that isn't drying. Overall it is great value for money, comes in a large size that lasts a long time. It offers ceramides, hyaluronic acid and is gentle on the skin barrier. I've been using a prestige brand cleanser for years (it was $40 for much less product), but had to change to CeraVe after my doctor's recommendation. I started two Rx products from my doctor for adult acne, both of which extremely dry my face out. I needed a cleanser that is mild, doesn't contain soap, doesn't contain a lot of ingredients, and is lotion-like (doesn't foam). This cleanser is very effective and leaves my skin soft, clean, and hydrated. Doctor recommended too. Just remember it doesn't foam up like most cleansers, but you wet your face and lightly rub it into your face for 30 seconds or so, then rinse and pat dry your face. It gets your face ready for whatever you will be putting on it. At the very least, put on a moisturizer and SPF. I highly recommend this cleanser. I bought three of the largest bottles. The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a moisturising cleansing lotion that comes in a pump bottle. Like other CeraVe cleansers, this also contains three essential ceramides, and is fragrance free and non-comedogenic. This is perfect for my dry and sensitive skin, leaving it moist and soft without causing any irritation. This works best in my morning routine, as it is easy to use and helps to prepare my face for the rest of my routine. The cleanser does not lather up though does leave my skin feeling hydrated and nourished. One pump is sufficient for my whole face, but I don't think this product is intended to be used as a cleanser for a face full of makeup and sunscreen as it does not remove all the products. This works best for a basic clean and moisturised face. I love the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser as part of my morning routine, as my face feels clean, hydrated and nourished, and ready for the day. I have been using this for 18yrs and still going strong! I was using the typical “teenager” brands prior to this and when living with a couple friends just out of high school, I ran out of my usual face wash. One of my friends had this and let me use it and I have been hooked since. I have combination skin, leaning more towards oily. In winter, things get crazy dry including my skin. The rest of my body is itchy if I don’t use lotion but if I don’t put lotion on my face one day, it still feels and looks just fine. This face wash is perfection. I noticed there was a slight formula/fragrance change a couple years ago and got nervous it wouldn’t work well for me anymore but thankfully it is. I’m starting to have a hard time finding this in stores however and have started. Please please please do not discontinue this product!!Erin
i used this all throughout college and it was the BEST thing ever. i recent switched to cleansing balms because i wanted to try something new and better for travels. PROS: your makeup doesn’t stand a chance against this 1-2 pumps removed all waterproof makeup. you can have multiple layers caked on and the strongest matte lip or eyeliner — this will take it away clean feeling afterward EVERY time CONS: traveling with this was a nightmare — you cant twist the pump closed without pushing the pump down and letting product out. ended up putting it in travel containers, but i’m not a fan of doing so it does feel a little bit stripping, but not excessively so. i do have a thorough skincare regime that i follow to bring back moisture, though had a tough battle vs Lancome waterproof mascaras. i did have to massage my lashes a bit. this does not melt away makeup fast like oil-based cleansers and removers do, so don’t expect that! my reason to switch to balms was because i wanted to do a little less rubbing on my face and have something easier to pack. however, this is SUCH a solid product! i love it so much and keep some as backupdesirae.w
Not my favourite cleanser from Neutrogena for a few reasons. The BIGGEST reason I dislike this cleanser is because it is marketed towards sensitive skin….. yet for some reason the brand decided to formulate this with fragrance. Fragrance can irritate sensitive skin types so it is a little confusing as to why this product wasn’t made fragrance-free. On top of having a fragrance, the scent is comparable to household cleaners.. not really the vibe or sensorial experience I want from my skincare (if and when I want scented products). Another reason I dislike this cleanser is because it’s not very effective of removing makeup and due to the fragrance, I keep it far away from my sensitive eye area which partly defeated the purpose of a cleanser for me. Overall, I found this product stripping and irritating and I wouldn’t recommend this cleanser unless you have really resilient and oily skin that doesn’t irritate easily.dani.n

I would purchase this product again again, the tube has lasted me months of almost daily use! The texture is amazing smells just like honey. IS Clinical is one of my favorite brands and this is one of my favorite products. Honey is such a great ingredient and it’s so good for my sensitive, combination, acne prone skin. Sometimes I put pure Manuka honey on my face, but I love using this so much more. It actually does warm on your skin after you apply it. It feels SO good! When I go without this cleanser I seriously crave it. There are so many things to love. First, the smell – pure honey smell that reminds me of cornbread (weird, yes, but in a good way). Secondly, the feel – thicker so you can really control it and work it in. I like to apply it to a dry face with just a hint of water on my fingertips and give myself a little face massage. Then I add more water, work it around a bit more and rinse. I'm left with soft skin that feels super clean. I have oily, acne-prone skin and this is so soothing for irritated areas, but also exfoliating without stripping the skin. And the last thing I love about it is how long it last. The product is easy to use, similar to most Cerave products it comes with a pump in a slim bottle. Due to its size, it is easy to store in your shower caddy or on your bathroom sink. I like to use a few pumps of the cleanser for my whole face. Even though you will probably use more than one pump, I still have a lot of product left in my bottle and that is after a months use. You definitely get value for your money in this product. I love cream cleansers, they are less abrasive and are soothing on the skin and this formula is exactly that. The formula is really nice, it feels almost like a moisturiser when you first disperse it and then when you add water it suds up a little bit. Another positive is that the product is fragrance-free, and it does not have a smell to it. My skin always feels really soft after using this product, clean but not stripped and dry. This is an extremely gentle cleanser, I found that it was easy to include in my nigh time and morning routine, I've got this product in the shower and as I wash the day off I use this. For morning use, it is good to get your skin prepped for the day, wash off all that sleep and give your skin a clean but hydrated base before you put on makeup (if you chose to wear any that is). For evenings however, I would say that it doesn't remove all your makeup – especially if you have been wearing waterproof mascara, I always find that after the shower I still need to go in with my oil based cleanser to remove any excess makeup. However, it is just easy to use and on non-makeup days it does the job and leaves the skin feeling really clean and extremely moisturised. The bottle does state that it removes makeup, but I would recommend just using this on fresh skin and using a proper makeup remover. I would absolutely recommend this product to others, it is a great staple to have in your skincare routine and super easy to use. To begin with, I'd like to tell you that my skin is combination, with the first signs of aging (I'm 31 years old), I'm a woman, and I don't have acne problems. In my opinion, this gel is gentle enough to use both day and night. One of the things that caught my attention is that, although it is called a foaming gel, it does not foam very much. The texture is very light, the liquid is transparent in color and completely odorless of any kind. I don't apply it directly to the eyes, but if a little product gets in, it doesn't cause irritation. It is much smoother than I expected. This CeraVe cleanser compared to others, such as Bioderma, I find it much softer. I wonder how effective it will be for really oily skin. When using it I notice that it does not leave my skin completely tight, as it happens with other gels. One of the benefits of this CeraVe Foaming Cleansing Gel is that it is also suitable for use on the body. And for the price it has, there is nothing wrong with using a greater amount of product. I like this because if necessary, I can take a single product with me on the trip and I can use it for both the face and the body. Or, for example, if I don't want to carry a lot of products in my gym bag. In general, it seems to me a fairly soft gel, considering that it is for oily and combination skin. It fulfills its function and does not give me any type of reaction. But, as I say, I don't know to what extent it works for younger skin or true oil or shine problems on the face. So I actually bought a bottle of this cleanser the day before I received this sample on the mail and I fell in love with first use. It is everything I want a face wash to be. It has a nice creamy consistency right out the bottle and for me it creates a beautiful luxurious type lather. I see a lot of people saying it doesn't suds up for them but I think you just have to use enough. It's very moisturizing my face never feels tight or dry after but it does feel clean. I am someone who usually double cleanses when wearing makeup so I am not sure how it removes makeup on its own but just the texture of it I think it would do a pretty good job. To me the consistency reminds me of a face wash I used to use long time ago called Neutrogena naturals fresh cleansing plus makeup remover so if you have ever used that then you would know the consistency I'm talking about. I can't get enough of this product I have 2 bottles as backup. I hope they never stop making this face wash it's my all time favorite! I spent years searching for a great cleanser – something that didn't leave me feeling squeaky clean but still did the job, something gentle, something that would work year-round and wouldn't irritate my skin – and this one checks every single box and then some. So the promise of this product, according to label at least, is that it is very mild and suitable for sensitive skin, while also helping acne prone skin. And it's true that if you use it as a face wash, you are pleasantly surprised that your face is not tight or dry afterwards.
However, a quick look into its ingredients using www.incidecoder.com will show that this is some powerful stuff. It contains a source of salicylic acid (willow bark), a closely related source of glycolic acid (sugar cane), a form of Vitamin C and a form of Vitamin A. I don't know about you, but that sounds like trouble to me, if you have sensitive skin.
My experience with this cleanser is that, while it left my face feeling clean and not tight at all, it also left it irritated later on. It was very telling that both times I tried using it, the back of my hands started burning. Same for my neck. In both of those areas the skin is very sensitive and prone to irritation.
I would recommend this cleanser as maybe a once in a while exfoliating treatment, but definitely not on a daily basis.Luca E
Of all the product I have tried over the years, who knew it would be a cleanser to save the day? I’ve had acne since a teen and in my mid 30’s I still struggle with break outs and post-acne marks. Over the years I have tried so many serums and treatments but didn’t really pay attention to the cleanser I was using because I thought of cleanser as just face soap. I finally decided to try cleansing complex after seeing it on over and over again on beauty blogs and recommendations. I don’t know what took my so long!! Dullness (gone!), underlying congestion on cheeks and t-zone (poof!), post-acne hyperpigmentation (fading!) And it’s only been two weeks!! I started using the Ordinary products about 4 months ago and they completely changed my skin, they helped more than anything I had ever tried before. Everyone commented on how amazing my skin looked. The flaky dryness disappeared, I had less blackheads and my hormones didn't affect my skin as much. I recently brought this in a large size as well as the moisturiser and I don't know if it is me or something is different with the product, but my skin is back to flakey and dry. I never had any sensitivity issues with the products, but now the cleanser feels like it burns, my skin feels sore and the products don't feel like they are working. I also feel like the moisturiser burns, and it was my favourite product ever, so im gutted. My skin hurts all day. I don't know if I'm meant to push through and it's some form of purge my skin is doing or if out of nowhere my skin has decided the products no longer work? People are still commenting that my skin is glowing for the most part if they aren't to close to my forehead, but the cleanser isn't meant to hurt right? Can you get a sensitivity to something out of nowhere? I would definitely tell people to try these products as when they work for you it's fantastic, I think the issue is me at this point which sucks.Max
I love this stuff so much I started enjoying double-cleansing again after taking a year's hiatus. I've been double-cleansing for YEARS – before it was really a "thing" in the beauty world – and I've used everything from straight up carrier oils to cleansing balms. Though, I stopped double-cleansing because I felt it a pain in the butt to have to over-rinse to remove residue or oiliness, which would cause my dry skin to become even dryer and tight… and that's why this is the best. The creamy product turns to silky emollient upon application, and rinses away like nothing. It removes even my most stubborn makeup effortlessly and within seconds, and without needing to scrub hard or for long. Meaning, this added step hardly feels like an additional step in my multi-step skincare routine. For best results: I do recommend applying on dry skin, and gradually apply wet fingers to the eye area to remove makeup, and rinse with a cloth and water… Not just water alone. I've read reviews complaining about leftover mascara residue — but I just don't understand it. The first time I used this I was floored at how it removed ALL traces of my makeup with such ease. I could've carried on without double-cleansing. And it's never let me down since. It even seems to be helping with my pores and sebaceous filaments. Though it's not an instant fix. Overall, it's effective, hydrating, gentle, easy-to-use. I'm not sure what more one could want. My biggest gripe is that the smaller bottle doesn't last long, as sometimes you need a little more product than you'd think, but for the price, I can't really complain. Cleansers aren't a 1 size fits all, but I fell in love with this brand after trying their zinc serum & peeling masks (which, paired with my 'clean & clear gel cleanser,' completely fixed my oil & texture problem!), so I was excited to give this a try too. However, I suppose this isn't for people who, like me, are recommended to using "gel-like consistency" for their dry skin [via their esthetician]. After immediate use of this product, my forehead still felt clogged and textured, and oil production was visible on my nose just seconds after. I woke up feeling especially congested, and chose to give this product a 2nd try – this time doubling the amount, and taking more time heating it up and massaging it in. *This was also on my 'ordinary AHA/BHA exfoliation mask morning', so I was curious if that would make a positive difference. However, the results were the same, even with the mask that I swear by. I will be going back to my old drug store cleanser and just enjoying pairing it with the Ordinary serums and masks instead. **The BENEFIT however: was that on the small dermatitis patches I'd developed from wearing/reusing n95 masks 8 hours long every day, are now A LOT less flakier. I'm not sure if it's thanks to this cleanser, or the +HA Ordinary moisturizer, but I will keep this regime only for the perioral area until it's fully treated, and my drug store cleanser for the rest. I have combo acne prone skin and a tan complexion. Tried this out because of how clean this brand is! So far my face feels great after a few uses! My face feels hydrated and clean. Hoping this becomes my holy grail. Everyone says the smell bothers them, but honestly it just smells like a strong bottle of white wine to me. Very bearable, just plug your nose. I have sensitive combination oily-dry skin (oily summer, dry winter), and I love how this doesn't give me that tight, "squeaky clean" feeling afterwards. I use this in a double cleanse where I use a cold cream first to remove spf/makeup, and this one after. A little goes a long way- I do find sometimes I squeeze a little *too* much on accident and it makes my skin a little irritated. A dime-nickel sized amount is really all you need. There isn't much of a scent either, and as someone who is sensitive to fragrance, I really appreciate this. I only dock one star because if you use it AM/PM, it could irritate your skin a little bit if you're on the sensitive side because of the exfoliating AHAs. But I only use this once a day, typically at night, so I recommend if you cleanse your face twice a day to use a more emollient cleanser in the AM.Chrissy A.
In the past I’ve used Cerave, a very basic cleanser…. and then more recently I purchased this cleanser to try alongside the glossier milky jelly cleanser. My comparison is this: glossier cleanser smells more fragrant and pleasing, while this one definitely has a more natural fragrance that I can see how not everyone may like. HOWEVER, the glossier cleanser burns my eyes and to me is strong smelling like a chemical perfume. When I tried to wash my mascara off with glossier, it BURNS! whereas I can rub this cocokind cleanser all in my eyes and not feel a thing. I have been using the cleanser for about two months now and I have to say I was not expecting to like it as much I did. This is not the first milky cleanser I have tried and they always left a slight film even after rinsing pretty thoroughly so I was not sure wether I this would be the case with this one as well. Let me tell you this is not at all the case you can totally feel that it does not stay on your skin it completely washes away however it leaves the skin super hydrated and even though it also has exfoliating ingredients and your basically exfoliating daily it is sooo gentle and since it has a lot more ingredients that focus on soothing and hydrating the skin it does not irritate your skin at all. First–I received this product complimentary from Hero in exchange for my review, but this opinion is 100% my own. Second– I have dry, non-sensitive, but redness prone skin (due to Lupus/autoimmune issues.) I usually judge my cleansers by their ingredients, how well they perform, and the way my skin feels after use. Hero's Milky Cleanser is a slam dunk on all three counts. I love that I can use this twice daily, and my skin doesn't feel tight or stripped. I think this is a great cleanser for all skin types, and is extra awesome for for colder seasons or dry/sensitive types. The value is really there for this cleanser also, the amount of product needed versus the amount received for the price is exceptional. I’ve been out in the sun a lot this summer and my skin definitely needed some moisturizing. This cleanser helped so much with that. The pump top on the bottle makes it so easy to use. One pump is plenty to thoroughly scrub my face. I use it every time I shower and it’s so quick to scrub with and rinses off really easily. It doesn’t have much of a smell but I don’t mind because it works so well for cleaning my face. This is the best face cleanser I have ever tried out.Heatherperk

I switched to this cleansing oil since it has less pore-clogging oils in it than the DHC one & I was seeing some increased congestion using DHC. This oil removes my super waterproof mascara well. Also, I can tell just by a few uses that it has lighter oils in it, but I can’t speak for decreased congestion. So, it checks all the boxes EXCEPT THE FRAGRANCE. Why! First of all, unnecessary ingredient. Secondly, I have semi-sensitive skin, so hopefully I don’t see negative effects from this long term. Thirdly, rose is the worst smell ever in my opinion. Please remove the fragrance and I will repurchase & recommend to others. Otherwise, once I finish the product I will find another cleansing oil to try.Kristen
For the longest time I was forever faithful to my Clinique Take The Day Off: Cleansing Balm for the start of my double cleanse. I loved everything about it, minus the price. $45CDN every month or so was just becoming a bit too much. Enter Amazon. I saw this being advertised on my Amazon front page for $8CDN. I read up on the reviews and figured, for $8 you can’t lose! I have used this for over a month now and I am just hitting the half-way mark. It’s a runny oil but a one/two pumps will suffice. It removes every single trace of makeup. Even stubborn waterproof mascara. I don’t need to scrub hard and after about 30 seconds of working the oil in, I rinse. All eye makeup is gone and even my stubborn red lipstick has vanished. Once my face has been rinsed clean (which is a breeze), I follow with my normal cleanser. Now for those sensitive to scents, this is pretty heavy on the floral side. It does have Rosehip fragrance. I quite like the scent and think it’s quite pretty. However if you don’t like scents, give this a pass. I have very sensitive, acne prone skin. This oil does not break me out or cause any irritations. My eyes also never seem to react! If you are looking for a bargain that does the job, give this bad boy a go! I’m sure you’ll love it!courtney.k
Love, love this cleansing oil, love the way my skin feels, love the great ingredients, love the great price. I love everything about it except for the fragrance. I always think when I see fragrance in a face product "would I put perfume on my face" and the answer is no, so usually I try to avoid it. But the reviews and positives for this cleansing oil were so overwhelmingly good, that I just had to try it and I was not disappointed. With much regret, due to the fact that I will not use a product with fragrance for an extended period of time, I will not be purchasing this again unless a fragrance free version becomes available (hint to Palmer's). I implore more companies to include more fragrance free options for their face products especially great products like this one. Even though I will be discontinuing my use of this, I would still recommend it to someone who does not have a problem with fragrance. This cleanser seems to be universally loved and have yet to find any negative or average reviews about it. I did a patch test since there are a few essential oils in this cleanser and ended up having a cluster of whiteheads show up near my jaw line. Tried again and used it on my chest, ended up having a reaction as well. I've handed it off to my sister and she seems to enjoy it but agrees that it's nothing special and prefers the Jordan Samuel gel cleanser. Typically, I would've returned this since it's so expensive but I really wanted it to work for me since literally EVERYONE loves it.Samantha
