I started using this moisturizing bar two weeks ago and so far I’m really liking it. It has a gentle scent that is very soothing and relaxing. It’s not as heavily scented as other aveeno products. I got a facial a month ago that really damaged my skin and since then it had been really dry and sensitive to products. This is the product I’ve chosen to try to nurse my skin back to health. It has been gentle and I love that it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. It was a bit pricey for a drug store product but it’s been working. I’ve noticed a bit of texture on my skin recently but I don’t know if it’s because of the moisturizer or due to the damage from the facial. And then after that I dry and I use this, it's called Ginseng Green Tea and it's a moisturizer. I love it. It has all their products have such a lovely light scent and I, you know, put it on my face and it just moisturizes my skin. I think it's making my, I have no makeup on right now. It's making my skin um just feel very moisturized and not quite as wrinkled and my pores are a little smaller. Then after the green tea I use uh the ginseng green tea hyaluronic toner. You just spritz it on a couple of times. It's, it just smells wonderful. I love it. And then the last product I use is the double hyaluronic hydration serum and they all go together and it just hydrates my skin very well. I never feel greasy or oily. I won't say it makes me sleepy, but I'm enjoying the scent, and it does seem to relax me before bed, just a little but thats all i need to fall asleep. It foams well lots of bubbles, rinses clean without leaving my skin feeling dry or tight, and hasn't irritated my skin. My skin feels nicely hydrated after I rinse off. I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. Today I tried Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser. First thoughts: I love that it has a pump so I don't need to open and close (and lose) the cap for the product. I also appreciate that it is fragrance free and dye free. Putting the product on my face I can confirm that there was no fragrance and it went on feeling smooth and not heavy or sticky. As it is a cleanser not a face wash I should not have been surprised, but I was surprised that it did not lather. The package recommends a pump or two of product, so I started with just one pump. This quantity was plenty to cover and wash my face. I smoothed the product on my face with my fingers but used a face cloth to take it off. My makeup residue came off easily with it, and almost immediately my forehead felt tight. My cheeks after washing felt very soft and my skin smooth and firmer. The sensation for me is different as I don't usually feel this aware of my face skin. My skin does not feel too tight as it does with soap, and it does feel moisturized even though I have not applied additional moisturizers. It has been several hours since I tried this product and my skin still feels smooth to the touch and firm without being too tight. It is still an adjustment to be aware of the tightened condition of my skin with every movement of my face but it is not unpleasant.Jordana1972

The Aveeno Calm and Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser is a gentle face cleanser designed to hydrate and preserve your skin's moisture balance. My first impressions after looking at the product packaging were that I have definitely hit the jackpot with a product that is going to be calm, soothing, and healthy for my skin. From the addition of oats to the tan colour of the cleanser and finally to the shades of blue and brown packaging. So I’ll just say this, I was skeptical at first to buy this product. I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin. I can’t use anything with fragrance and have been struggling with a damaged skin barrier for some time with no relief from anything I’ve tried so I decided to purchase this face wash in hopes it would help. The gel consistency was a little weird to me at first as I’m used to using foaming cleansers but I was pleasantly surprised at how clean my face felt after using this for the first time. Before using, my cheeks were extremely irritated, dry, and red. The redness has almost completely disappeared and my face feels moisturized and smooth after using it. I also love that it doesn’t break me out. As far as other reviews go for make up removal, it works perfectly fine if you remove your make up prior to washing your face with another method then using this to cleanse your face once your make up is removed. I have been using this product for a while now, and it made my skin feel and look the best it ever has. I swore by this cleanser. When I ran out, it was a no-brainer to replace it with the same product. When I tried out the new one, it felt different (didn't foam as much, not the same results) so I compared the ingredients to the previous bottle. I found that they took out the vitamin A, a key ingredient. This was the only cleanser I knew of that was both hydrating and had vitamin A. I am aware they have a different line that has vitamin A in it, however, it has glutamic acid, which is irritating to my skin. I unfortunately have to find a new cleanser.
The version I got says "hyaluronic acid and chamomile" on the label. I had it down to this cleanser, or La Roch Posey gentle cleanser, the latter being a much bigger bottle for the same price. I decided on the Derma E because it's cruelty free. I use Tretinoin 1% at night, so prefer more gentle cleansers, though the creamy ones don't seem to get everything off and leave a residue behind. I was skeptical, as most clear gel cleansers, even those that specifically claim to be gentle and non drying, strip my normal skin and leave it feeling very tight, even painful, after washing. This one does not. I oil cleanse first with an olive oil based oil cleanser from Japan, to remove sunscreen and makeup. After the second step of washing with this cleanser, my skin felt great. It took off all the oil and makeup and my face and neck felt smooth and normal, not the least bit dry or tight. I think I've found my new favorite cleanser!Geslina

My skin looks much much better since I started to use it (I combine it with Firming DMAE Toner and Tea Tree & Vitamin E Relief Cream). This seemed like a great find. It exfoliated perfectly. The smell wasn’t over powering. However, after using it a a few times I noticed that my skin started to become irritated and sensitive after using it. It was even to the point a friend pointed out my face was red hours after using it. I’m not sure what ingredient in this is causing patches of my skin to burn and be red. Maybe it’s just me, but if it weren’t for that reaction. I’d give this product 5 stars. Just so unfortunate my skin broke out in burning splotchy rashes. This is a mild, fragrance free cleanser suited to normal and dry skin types. I found that whilst it worked well for my dry, sensitive skin type, it is not as hydrating as the Cerave Hydrating gel to foam cleanser which is a newish release. It is a great first cleanse though, especially if you have makeup or sunscreen on as this cleanser is quite gentle and will not remove everything. I love using it during my non-active days (no retinol, acids etc) and for when I may have overdone it with chemical exfoliants and need to be gentle with my skin barrier. It also comes in a convenient pump and I use this on my body as well. Great if you have skin sensitivities and want something that isn't drying. I've been using a prestige brand cleanser for years (it was $40 for much less product), but had to change to CeraVe after my doctor's recommendation. I started two Rx products from my doctor for adult acne, both of which extremely dry my face out. I needed a cleanser that is mild, doesn't contain soap, doesn't contain a lot of ingredients, and is lotion-like (doesn't foam). This cleanser is very effective and leaves my skin soft, clean, and hydrated. Doctor recommended too. Just remember it doesn't foam up like most cleansers, but you wet your face and lightly rub it into your face for 30 seconds or so, then rinse and pat dry your face. It gets your face ready for whatever you will be putting on it. At the very least, put on a moisturizer and SPF. I highly recommend this cleanser. I bought three of the largest bottles. I have always had trouble finding a facial cleanser due to the fact I have extremely sensitive skin. I have tried countless other products that ended up causing an allergic reaction and me to breakout, I would end up giving them away, despite the amount of money I spent. This is the first product I've used that hasn't done that and I couldn't be more thrilled. The foam feels excellent on your face and when you wash off, your skin feels so smooth and soft. My skin on my face looks and feels great. My daughter has now tried it. She is a teen and has a hard time with breakouts, just in the few days she has used it, her face has cleared up. I started using the entire Curel face line after finding it while researching best products for rosacea online. I bought the travel kit to try it then bought full size products. I am on the hunt for a new cleanser since Cetaphil decided to add niacinamide to their cleansers. I am one of those people where niacinamide causes irritation. I love the Vanicream moisturizing cream so I decided to try the gentle cleanser. I have combo skin with rosacea and use tretinoin .025 to help with the bumps. My skin can tolerate the tretinoin just fine so it's not overly sensitive. The cleanser left my face squeaky clean. Which means it stripped away all the natural oils and left it very dry and tight. After using it for awhile, it seemed to cause an increase in red bumps and irritation. I swapped back to my old Cetaphil cleanser (I have 2 bottles left) and it was pretty calm the next morning. I am now trying Fresh Soy to see how that works.heidi.a
I was hesitant to buy this because I was worried it wouldn’t clean well or that it would just be a basic boring and drying foam cleanser. Boy, was I wrong. This has such a wonderful rich, creamy lather that spreads well over the skin without a need to add another pump. One pump cleans my whole face. It thoroughly cleanses my face as well, I had a tiny (it was unnoticeable unless you got close to me) pimple above my lip, and I literally felt it wash away using this. It was there before I washed my face, and I felt it when I started to wash my face, and suddenly it was gone! I am amazed with this face wash and I will never use another one because this is perfect for me. I won’t say it leaves me feeling “hydrated” as some other reviewers say, but it leaves me feeling clean but not overly stripped. I follow with my serum and Cerave lotion and I’m good to go! I honestly can't come up with a single complaint about this face wash. The skin on my face is sensitive and acne prone. I also have combination skin. This is why I was interested in trying this face wash out. I usually try to make educated decisions with it comes to my beauty product purchases, doing my best to stay away from dyes, fragrances, and hard chemicals. This product has a very mild scent and it's like a thick liquid when it comes out. It turns into a nice foamy texture (not bubbly) and glides on my skin nicely. this is extremely drying– gives me dry patches within a few days of use… i do have quite dry skin (except over my forehead), and this definitely isn't a facial cleanser i would recommend to anyone, tbh. SLS, in my experience, is very stripping for my skin type, and i cannot imagine how this is gentle enough as an everyday cleanser. i don't even want to use it on my body, though i have 2 giant bottles left in my cupboard. it also has a seriously soapy smell, foams up a lot, and leaves your skin seriously *squeaky* clean… ding ding ding, those are the biggest flashing lights you can get, warning you of how STRIPPING it is. granted, as you get older, your skin dries out and becomes more sensitive, but i couldn't even tolerate this during my pubertal years, when my skin was at its most resilient and least dehydrated. my dermatologist recommended this to me when i had acne problems during my adolescence, but no… i would NEVER put this on my face ever again. there are cheaper and gentler cleansers than this at a drugstore. for reference, i have acne-prone, sensitive, combination (mostly dry, except over forehead) skin, and fresh's soy cleanser suits my skin type best.shani.t

I used to have to moisturize right after a shower or else my skin will feel dry and cracked. I have very sensitive skin, so I have to be extremely careful when it comes to skin care. Often times, cleaners and moisturizers will cause my skin to become inflamed or breakout. I’ve been using this face cleanser once a day for a little over a week now and I can definitely see the difference. My skin is so soft and clear now. I’ve been out in the sun a lot this summer and my skin definitely needed some moisturizing. This cleanser helped so much with that. The pump top on the bottle makes it so easy to use. One pump is plenty to thoroughly scrub my face. I use it every time I shower and it’s so quick to scrub with and rinses off really easily. I've been using this for many years now. From my teen years into adulthood. I had very flaky skin and haven't had to deal with that in a while. Removes dirt so well with just rubbing in with your hands. When paired with a cloth, refreshing clean result. Not much is needed. I squeeze a pea/bean size of it and it provides enough micro and minimal sud. And with the cloth a thin drizzle. If used sparingly this will last you a long time. Well priced too! Read a couple of reviews for this product and kept it in mind, then visited the store just on closing time so just grabbed it. Once home I washed off my make up including waterproof mascara and it all came off. No need to scrub or rub it literally washed off, leaving my face soft and hydrated. I usually have to wash my face a couple of times to remove all traces, especially the mascara. I couldn't believe it as it's so cheap. It leaves my previously expensive brands at the gate. This isn't the worst cleansing balm I've used, but it was far from the best. Pros: It breaks down sunscreen – both chemical and mineral – pretty well and leaves my skin wonderfully soft. It doesn't contain any fragrance, dyes or irritating ingredients, so it's fantastic for sensitive, reactive skin. Cons: The product didn't have a consistent texture. It wasn't great at removing makeup. I tried it on both a full face and just (waterproof) mascara days, and was left unsatisfied every time; I had to go back in with micellar water after double cleansing. In sum, I expected a much better performance from this balm based on the rave reviews and the hefty pricetag, but was left disheartened. If you're a person who's never been able to use a cleansing balm/oil or face oil without breaking out this is for you. Over the years I've realized any product with an an oleic rich oil breaks me out no matter how dry and dehydrated my skin is or for how little amount of time it is on my skin. Unfortunately almost all cleaning balms/oils have such oils ( rice bran, sweet almond, olive, almond, apricot, moringa, marula, camellia japonica, and macadamia, just to name a few). So I was delighted to see this has none of those making it great to massage into the skin for as long as I want. I wouldn't say it breaks everything down but it breaks it down enough to be washed away completely during my second cleanse. If I'm drunk and lazy I'll just use this without the second cleansing and it rinses off pretty well with minimal residue so when I wake up the next morning I'll have little to no pimples.JjasmineVK
So, where do I begin… I have spent hundreds, probably even thousands over the last 2-3 years on skincare products, on both lower-end and high-end brands. I follow Caroline Hirons and as a result, you can imagine how many products I have resulted in buying. Anyway, I purchased the Omega cleanser along with serum and honestly, what an amazing combination. I’ve sold or passed all of my other products on and panic bought the cleanser and serum so I have plenty. The cleanser is a balm like gel consistency but it’s not ‘clarty’ or too thick that it leaves a residue. It does an amazing job of cleaning my face and the serum offers a real fresh, cold hydration which doesn’t feel sticky. You look healthy and clean. Where I would normally have hormonal spots cluster on my chin throughout the month, they have reduced and I have had comments since on my skin from friends and family. Very very happy. This cleanser is a golden nugget. I have used my fair share of cleansers and this one has been my favorite so far. It doesn’t lather as much as I’d like it to but the way my skin feels and how noticeably smaller my pores on my nose have become makes this a keeper. It’s been a month and I have no complaints. And price is unbeatable. I’m usually bare faced with spf but sometimes I use water proof mascara and I have to use a make up remover and then I wash with this. It may make sense to use a different make cleanser after make up remover because this cleanser is very light. I use it myself regardless and I have no issues.Sshlaco
Well first off I live actually in Portland where this line originates and is created so I love buying it because I'm helping to support a local business. But I decided since I do vegan skin care to finally try this particular cleanser because in the past I did use CeraVe which is not totally vegan but I did not find the ceramide type of cleanser that I used which was the more milky cleanser of theirs to be as beneficial for my skin as I do with this. This particular cleanser is so calming and gentle and very good at keeping the hydration in the skin having that it has the botanicals in it that are very calming and then ceramides already are calming as well I feel like it leaves a little more of the ceramide protective barrier to my skin that actually the CeraVe did. It never leaves my skin feeling over dry and tight after I rinse it off because of the protective ceramide barrier that it's leaving my skin actually stays looking plumper much longer. I really like to use this as a second cleanse after I will use my nyod Sanskrit sapitans and then I will follow up with this cleanser since the niyad one can be a bit more drying. It's a match made in heaven for my skin. The price is pretty decent it's like $10 and you don't need much of this cleanser it goes quite a long ways so a tube should last you a decent amount of time. Since I like this product so much from Pacifica I am now wanting to try some of the other products within the vegan ceramide line from themhilary.s
I bought this cleanser back in January of 2022. I have been using once daily ever since. It is the best cleanser I've used to date. I have incredibly sensitive skin. Normally when I find a product that does not burn my skin immediately after about 3 months of use I develop a sensitivity. With this, I'm going on ten months and can still use it without any irritation! My skin has never looked better. I have had problematic skin since at least middle school. Now, I have little to no spots, and when I do it's normally hormonal acne along my jaw. It's also affordable! It's not as cheap as some drugstore brands, but those are always so harsh on my skin they're a waste of money anyways. This is much more affordable that all the "designer skincare" brands I get recommended (that also normally test on animals or have animal products in them, yuck!) It's such a relief to have found something affordable that works for me that also alines with my morals. I don't think I'll try a new cleanser ever again if I don't have to.KT-GRL

As I got older, I was starting to have skin problems. I developed dermatitis. My doctor recommended that I switch my body bar soap to this. I got a free sample to try. I will say the initial smell puts me off, very medicine smell, but then as the bar slowly disappears the smell goes away. The initial out of the bag is intense. Today this review is after 8 years of use. If you struggle with skin issues, I recommend this to people. It is a gentle cleaning bar that deep cleans but does not dry out the skin. This cleanser is really strange. I received it as my birthday gift. It’s very thick and once you mix it with water and apply it and rinse it off, it leaves some kind of “film” on your skin. I don’t wear makeup so the only thing this product had to go though was my daily moisturizer (no other serums or anything). My face did not feel clean even after massaging the product thoroughly for two minutes or so. HOWEVER THE FRAGRANCE IN THIS PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE. I don’t understand why there has to be a fragrance added to skin care (hello irritation!) in the first place and let alone a product that washes off your face. The smell is very synthetic/artificial and very strong. HOW IS THIS PRODUCT LABELED “CLEAN AT SEPHORA” when the ingredients are clearly NOT CLEAN ?!MartiniC
Generally speaking I love tatcha products. The cleansing oil and the water cream are part of my regular line up. I have tried this product twice, when it came as part of a set, and both times after a week of use I ended up with dry, flaky skin that resolved after I stopped using it. My skin is typically normal-to-dry but I also live in a very humid climate, so I wouldn’t say dry skin is a major problem for me, but with this product it was noticeable. I couldn’t wear any face makeup for a week or two because it would highlight the flakey spots. It has a lovely smell, and it feels nice, and the light texture seems to vanish when it’s rubbed in (I’m not sure if it provides any exfoliating at all, it’s so fine and disappears so quickly), so two stars for “cosmetic elegance,” but ultimately it is not for me. I really can’t understand how this would be called “hydrating” or described as not “stripping” the skin because neither of those were true for me.sarahs310
This wash feels extraordinary and you really have to compliment tatcha for the formulation here if nothing else. There is a mild "grit" to the cleanser when it first comes out of the tube which immediately dissolves as you rub your hands together and spread it over your face. It never creates a harsh lather, but rather cleans your skin almost like an balm or an oil, easily removing dirt and oil from your pores. It feels very rich never leaves you dry. I think this would probably work for all skin types with exception to extremely oily skin. If you've got very oily skin or clogged pores, I recommend the Hyper Skin Gentle Brightening Gel, which is my favorite cleanser at the moment for reducing the look of pores. This Tatcha rice wash comes in second place, as it's super calming and I always reach for this when I want a cleanser to make me feel like I'm at a spa. Be aware that their is some mild fragrance. This really shouldn't cause any issues even on sensitive skin, BUT as always if you have a damaged skin barrier from going too hard on the chemical exfoliates or treatments (can look like small red patches or general stinging when applying products) then I would put down all fragrance products until your skin heals.boyskinJJ

My skin is sensitive and got to the point of being bright red and painful from any product I would use. I decided to simplify my routine and only use skin care that was approved for eczema, even though I don’t have eczema. I used this product and the first aid beauty’s moisturizer, that’s it for about 6 months! This didn’t suddenly make my skin perfect but it did help my skin to repair its barrier and really calm down irritation. I am now able to use other products and mostly not have a reaction. What a game changer! I love the oil to foam texture of this product. I’ve tried other similar products but nothing comes close to this one. The oil doesn’t slide off but sticks to your skin and lathers beautifully, without stripping the skin. I plan to use this all over as a face wash, body wash, and even hand wash as it helps with my very dry, very sensitive skin on my hands. (I find that it works on many skin types as my face is on the oily/combination side but my body and hands are dry to very dry.) As always, I love that it’s fragrance-free as I cannot tolerate scents. XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil is another great Avène cleanser. I use it on my face and I love that it doesn't feel like it is stripping my skin. It also doesn't feel like an oil to me. It rinses easily and my face is cleansed and calm. I started using the XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil when I was trying to recover from atopic dermatitis around my mouth. The XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil is soothing and my eczema redness is gone.. I hope the larger size becomes available soon. I am very happy with the results.Barbara C.
