I watched some Youtube videos to get some recommendations from dermatologist for my facial eczema. This was one of a few cleansers recommended. I hate cold cream so I chose this recommendation instead. Amazing! I let this sit on my face while I brush my teeth. It's so moisturizing that I don't want to take it off. I feel so fortunate to have found Toleriane Gentle Face Cleanser. I have been using mild face washes all my life and have always had normal skin with an oily t-zone. After contracting Covid, I developed pustular rosacea. I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. Today I tried Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser. First thoughts: I love that it has a pump so I don't need to open and close (and lose) the cap for the product. I also appreciate that it is fragrance free and dye free. Putting the product on my face I can confirm that there was no fragrance and it went on feeling smooth and not heavy or sticky. As it is a cleanser not a face wash I should not have been surprised, but I was surprised that it did not lather. The package recommends a pump or two of product, so I started with just one pump. This quantity was plenty to cover and wash my face. I smoothed the product on my face with my fingers but used a face cloth to take it off. My makeup residue came off easily with it, and almost immediately my forehead felt tight. My cheeks after washing felt very soft and my skin smooth and firmer. The sensation for me is different as I don't usually feel this aware of my face skin. My skin does not feel too tight as it does with soap, and it does feel moisturized even though I have not applied additional moisturizers. It has been several hours since I tried this product and my skin still feels smooth to the touch and firm without being too tight. So I’ll just say this, I was skeptical at first to buy this product. I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin. A little goes a long way, as I have combination skin. Incorporating this cleansing definitely means the need for double-cleansing, so I would not remove makeup with this alone. I'm definitely more of a cleansing balm kind of girl so this wouldn't remove it completely. Personally I'd have to use a non-oil based cleanser alongside this, as I like to not have any residue left. As I am combination skin. However this cleanser works well for both day and night. I like that it foams up with a little bit of water without stripping my skin. I absolutely love this cleanser. I received a full sized bottle in a beauty box subscription a while back and have continued to repurchase this cleanser ever since. I am a type of person who gets tired of looking for new products and likes to stick with products that works and as long as I do not fine anything better at the market. I prefer this bar soap over the liquid. Nothing wrong with the liquid, my face just feels cleaner using the bar soap. I don't have that tight feeling just fresh and clean. I have oily sensitive skin and I tried the Acne Solutions Foaming Cleanser but it was too harsh for me but my teenagers love it. This bar lasts a really long time so the price is definitely a good value. Sadly, the soap dish no longer comes with this purchase but maybe Clinique will bring back the dish, either with the soap (as before) or as a separate item. I absolutely love this fragrance. So much so yeah I’ve been wearing it for over 25 years and it’s one of the main reasons I shop at Victoria’s Secret. The best way to describe the smell would be a little bit of fruity and a little bit of floral. You can smell peach and apple when it comes to the fruity side and lilac and jasmine when it comes to the floral side. The description on the website says that there are notes of musk, woods, and tamarind however, I don’t really pick up on those. Maybe your nose is better at its job than mine? This has been my fav make up remover for 4 years. I have yet to find anything better. The number one reason it's my fav is because I can use it to remove mascara and it doesn't burn my eyes. I don't wear water proof mascara because my eyes are sensitive so idk how it works for that. I will say that I always moisturize afterwards. I'm not sure if it makes my skin slightly dry or if that's just my skin but you should be moisturizing after any cleanser to protect your skin barrier anyway. Also, on days I wear more make up than usual or sweat more, I might use a toner or micellar water after cleansing. I rarely get anything on my cotton round that the cleanser missed or didn't get. I ended up liking this better than , which I didn't expect. The ingredients in that one interested me more, but in terms of actual daily use, I found this one more effective. That said, there are other cleansers I still like a lot better, for example Tatcha and AmorePacific. I know those are more expensive than this, but this one also isn't super cheap and I'd rather get better results. The gel-like texture for this cleanser felt too thick for me. For cleanser gels, I prefer ones like Youth to the People Superfood, not ones that feel like they're so thick it requires vigorous application in order to get a good lather from it. This one helped with my acne somewhat, but not enough to keep using. It also seemed to leave a bit more of a film on my skin at the end of washing my face.
Finally I have found a cleanser for my supper dry and sensitive skin this winter! This cleanser is what I wanted the like 5 cleansers I tried this winter before it to be. It's creamy and thick, very soothing on my skin which is feeling better. It lathers well and a little goes a long way. It does smell like fragrance free cleanser, but that's fine better that than a scent. Sorry as usual I know it says it's a makeup remover, but I don't know how effective just this product is at removing makeup on its own I only wear minimal makeup and I use micellar water before this and that seems perfect. I will say it says it's for all skin types but while it's gentle enough I don't know if I would use it if I had oily skin or combo skin more on the oily side. This might be my winter cleanser, have to see in summer. But I've been using it almost a week and I haven't broken out and it hasn't clogged my pores.
Pleasantly surprised by how effective this cleanser is while still being mild enough for when I’ve got a rough situation with my very sensitive yet acne-prone skin. This cleanser is really strange. I received it as my birthday gift. It’s very thick and once you mix it with water and apply it and rinse it off, it leaves some kind of “film” on your skin. I don’t wear makeup so the only thing this product had to go though was my daily moisturizer (no other serums or anything). My face did not feel clean even after massaging the product thoroughly for two minutes or so. HOWEVER THE FRAGRANCE IN THIS PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE. I don’t understand why there has to be a fragrance added to skin care (hello irritation!) in the first place and let alone a product that washes off your face. The smell is very synthetic/artificial and very strong. HOW IS THIS PRODUCT LABELED “CLEAN AT SEPHORA” when the ingredients are clearly NOT CLEAN ?!MartiniC
Generally speaking I love tatcha products. The cleansing oil and the water cream are part of my regular line up. I have tried this product twice, when it came as part of a set, and both times after a week of use I ended up with dry, flaky skin that resolved after I stopped using it. My skin is typically normal-to-dry but I also live in a very humid climate, so I wouldn’t say dry skin is a major problem for me, but with this product it was noticeable. I couldn’t wear any face makeup for a week or two because it would highlight the flakey spots. It has a lovely smell, and it feels nice, and the light texture seems to vanish when it’s rubbed in (I’m not sure if it provides any exfoliating at all, it’s so fine and disappears so quickly), so two stars for “cosmetic elegance,” but ultimately it is not for me. I really can’t understand how this would be called “hydrating” or described as not “stripping” the skin because neither of those were true for me.sarahs310
This wash feels extraordinary and you really have to compliment tatcha for the formulation here if nothing else. There is a mild "grit" to the cleanser when it first comes out of the tube which immediately dissolves as you rub your hands together and spread it over your face. It never creates a harsh lather, but rather cleans your skin almost like an balm or an oil, easily removing dirt and oil from your pores. It feels very rich never leaves you dry. I think this would probably work for all skin types with exception to extremely oily skin. If you've got very oily skin or clogged pores, I recommend the Hyper Skin Gentle Brightening Gel, which is my favorite cleanser at the moment for reducing the look of pores. This Tatcha rice wash comes in second place, as it's super calming and I always reach for this when I want a cleanser to make me feel like I'm at a spa. Be aware that their is some mild fragrance. This really shouldn't cause any issues even on sensitive skin, BUT as always if you have a damaged skin barrier from going too hard on the chemical exfoliates or treatments (can look like small red patches or general stinging when applying products) then I would put down all fragrance products until your skin heals.boyskinJJ

I have been using this product for a while now, and it made my skin feel and look the best it ever has. I swore by this cleanser. When I ran out, it was a no-brainer to replace it with the same product. When I tried out the new one, it felt different (didn't foam as much, not the same results) so I compared the ingredients to the previous bottle. I found that they took out the vitamin A, a key ingredient. This was the only cleanser I knew of that was both hydrating and had vitamin A. I am aware they have a different line that has vitamin A in it, however, it has glutamic acid, which is irritating to my skin. I unfortunately have to find a new cleanser.
The version I got says "hyaluronic acid and chamomile" on the label. I had it down to this cleanser, or La Roch Posey gentle cleanser, the latter being a much bigger bottle for the same price. I decided on the Derma E because it's cruelty free. I use Tretinoin 1% at night, so prefer more gentle cleansers, though the creamy ones don't seem to get everything off and leave a residue behind. I was skeptical, as most clear gel cleansers, even those that specifically claim to be gentle and non drying, strip my normal skin and leave it feeling very tight, even painful, after washing. This one does not. I oil cleanse first with an olive oil based oil cleanser from Japan, to remove sunscreen and makeup. After the second step of washing with this cleanser, my skin felt great. It took off all the oil and makeup and my face and neck felt smooth and normal, not the least bit dry or tight. I think I've found my new favorite cleanser!Geslina
I use this cleanser for almost 2 years (it is my 3d bottle already). My skin looks much much better since I started to use it (I combine it with Firming DMAE Toner and Tea Tree & Vitamin E Relief Cream). I got rid of my acne problems and my skin is healthier and cleaner 🙂 It foams very well, so one bottle is enough for me for almost a year of use (like 9 months I think, but I use it only for my morning routine though). I am on the hunt for a new cleanser since Cetaphil decided to add niacinamide to their cleansers. I am one of those people where niacinamide causes irritation. I love the Vanicream moisturizing cream so I decided to try the gentle cleanser. I have combo skin with rosacea and use tretinoin .025 to help with the bumps. My skin can tolerate the tretinoin just fine so it's not overly sensitive. The cleanser left my face squeaky clean. Which means it stripped away all the natural oils and left it very dry and tight. After using it for awhile, it seemed to cause an increase in red bumps and irritation. I swapped back to my old Cetaphil cleanser (I have 2 bottles left) and it was pretty calm the next morning. I am now trying Fresh Soy to see how that works.heidi.a
I was hesitant to buy this because I was worried it wouldn’t clean well or that it would just be a basic boring and drying foam cleanser. Boy, was I wrong. This has such a wonderful rich, creamy lather that spreads well over the skin without a need to add another pump. One pump cleans my whole face. It thoroughly cleanses my face as well, I had a tiny (it was unnoticeable unless you got close to me) pimple above my lip, and I literally felt it wash away using this. It was there before I washed my face, and I felt it when I started to wash my face, and suddenly it was gone! I am amazed with this face wash and I will never use another one because this is perfect for me. I won’t say it leaves me feeling “hydrated” as some other reviewers say, but it leaves me feeling clean but not overly stripped. I follow with my serum and Cerave lotion and I’m good to go! I honestly can't come up with a single complaint about this face wash. The skin on my face is sensitive and acne prone. I also have combination skin. This is why I was interested in trying this face wash out. I usually try to make educated decisions with it comes to my beauty product purchases, doing my best to stay away from dyes, fragrances, and hard chemicals. This product has a very mild scent and it's like a thick liquid when it comes out. It turns into a nice foamy texture (not bubbly) and glides on my skin nicely. I notice it cleanses my skin well leaving hardly anything behind and doesn't dry out or irritate my skin. I've had acne since 2017, it was always just forehead acne never cheeks, chin or by my sideburns. When 2020 came my cheeks, sideburns, and chin broke out due to the mask. During the summer dove soap and Aquaphor lotion helped me. My skin started to clear up and I'd have a phew pimples here and there. I moved to a new house and I stopped doing the dove soap and Aquarphor skin care because I wasn't focused on it that much anymore, my face was ok until 2021 August. I tried Cetaphil in October and it kind of inflamed my skin more, I continued to use it and gave it hope thinking "it'll get worse before it gets better" well I was wrong. I found the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser a lovely, light cleanser that wasn’t too harsh on my skin which I love. I have dry skin so the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser was perfect for my skin and didn’t leave me with that tight, dry feeling after the shower which I often find with a lot of cleansers. The cleanser has a good consistency and texture, feeling kind of silky on your skin. Although the product can be used on your faces body, I used it most on my face as that is where I feel it works best. The packaging of the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser was of great quality and feels like you get a lot for your money being in a large bottle, it will last me a long time! I love that the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser has no soap or fragrance so it isn’t harsh on the skin and great for anyone who can be sensitive to these two ingredients. I also loved that it is gentle enough to not sting your eyes. Whilst being a gentle cleanser, I did find the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser was still an effective solution to be able to remove makeup on the days that I wore it which is a plus however, I don’t wear heavy makeup so I am unsure of how well the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser would remove heavier makeup. Over the last few months my skin has been breaking out so bad. I was embarrassed and felt shameful about it, I would absolutely hate going out without makeup or wearing a mask. In my area, the mask mandate has been lifted and now when I wear one I feel so awkward. I went to Costco and saw they had this on sale, after trying nearly everything for my face, both natural remedies and bottled washes/ointments, I was feeling like my face was just getting worse/no improvement at all I figured I would give it a try. I was a little put off by the consistency as it's not something you typically get when buying a face wash. It almost feels like you're just putting a very thin and watery lotion (which I don't mind at all, actually love it) on your face. After the first, YES the FIRST night using it, I woke up and could already visibly see a different. My poor scabbed over face was soft and the redness almost completely gone. I tried it both ways, completely rinsing my face and then just wiping it away. Either way it's been doing wonders! I'll wash my face in the shower at night, and then in the morning in the sink. Hot water to start, then massage and rinse with cold water and dab a towel. I've been using it for just about a week and my face is almost completely clear! It feels soft and I can definitely tell my face is much more hydrated and happy. And I'm happy! Acne and scaring can be such a difficult thing to cope with. I'm definitely calling this a life saver!!!! And for the price, its more than perfect! I have always had trouble finding a facial cleanser due to the fact I have extremely sensitive skin. I have tried countless other products that ended up causing an allergic reaction and me to breakout, I would end up giving them away, despite the amount of money I spent. This is the first product I've used that hasn't done that and I couldn't be more thrilled. The foam feels excellent on your face and when you wash off, your skin feels so smooth and soft. My skin on my face looks and feels great. My daughter has now tried it. She is a teen and has a hard time with breakouts, just in the few days she has used it, her face has cleared up. I started using the entire Curel face line after finding it while researching best products for rosacea online. I bought the travel kit to try it then bought full size products. This cleanser is really good. There are lots of comments in regard to the new formula being worse than the old, which has NOT been my experience. ( it’s just a cleanser list of ingredients! ). This gentle foaming cleanser defends against 5 signs of skin barrier, dryness, irritation, roughness, and tightness. It’s not harsh on my skin at all. I massage the product into my ski for 60 seconds then rinse and follow the rest of my daily routine. This product goes on light and smooth and leaves my skin feeling fresh and healthy. I don’t care for the smell though, hence I less the star rating. What I love about this cleanser it is effective, but gentle without stripping or leaving my skin feeling dry. The original formula left my skin feeling dry. I’m so happy they improved the formula with glycerine because my skin feels refreshed and moisturized! First off, I’m an esthetician so I’m a bit of a skin care snob. Things that I do love about this cleanser is that the company reworked the formula and took out the parabens and all of the harmful ingredients that it use to use. The cleanser is definitely gentle and good for sensitive skin. But it doesn’t have any actual active ingredients that would help with acne. So if your expecting it to cure any acne. It won’t. It would be best if used as a pre-cleanse before an active cleanser or if your on a medication that prevents you from using active ingredients. It doesn’t even fully remove my foundation and I don’t use a heavy foundation.jeana.w
This is one of my top favorites for cleansing. A dermatologist recommended it to me years ago. It’s effective yet gentle enough for sensitive skin. Removes makeup well too. No breakouts or irritation! I mainly use this when I’m having a bad hormonal acne flare up or if my skin is just being extra picky. Keeps things clean without stripping oils or your natural barrier, doesn’t dehydrate, and helps to soothe/heal. First off, I love Good Molecules products. This product is actually really good. I use it as my first step before going in with a foaming cleanser. It works amazingly when I’m taking off makeup or SPF. However I’ve recently noticed it’s a little stripping for my skin. For reference, I have about normal to oily skin. It cleans really well though, so I’ll keep on using until I’m out. The biggest issue I have with this product is the packaging. I think it’s a little inconvenient. Also, if you’re not careful when closing it you could end up with a pretty deep cut from the lid bottom of the lid, as it’s made out of some kind of aluminum (?) I had to learn that the hard way. Overall I say this product is good, maybe not for all skins. I hope they fix the packaging 🙂Yarely Z.
I absolutely love this cleansing balm. I have sensitive acne prone skin and this does not irritate me at all. It's super gentle while also being very effective at melting down all the sunscreen and any makeup I wear. I can rub it right over my eyes with no irritation as well. Other cleansing balms I've tried wouldn't rinse away clean and I'd have to follow up with multiple cleanses but this truly rinses away clean. I still wash my face afterwards, but you could honestly skip that if you have really dry skin. I feel like overtime this has honestly made my skin softer, there is definitely a noticeable change in smoothness and softness. My only complaint is the packaging! The metal lid is tricky to take on and off and has an extremely sharp edge. I ended up cutting myself trying to screw it on. I just wish this came in a tube.Liska
I've bought this product a few times, the last time was maybe late 2020. I tried a few other cleansing balms in-between my orders but usually settle on this one – for the price and the ingredients, i would rather buy this one. I gotta say, small thing i noticed that i like, since the last time i ordered this product from here, they have changed the packaging. It used to be a container of the same size but entirely plastic, now the main body of the container is metal. I love that a lot more, so props to them for that! This is a good balm to use before another cleanser, it takes makeup off very easily and after i wear sunscreen during the day but not any makeup, i still use this to make sure i get all the sunscreen off my face before moving on to a gel cleanser. It doesn't tend to dry out my face even if i double cleanse, which has been a hit or miss with other balms from other companies.Elin

This is a great easy scrub. It smells very refreshing and is gentle. It is not drying at all. My skin feels very plump after use. You can definitely smell the witch hazel and the bark. Ughhhh I love this soap so much!! I bought it in November and I am still using it! It may look small but it lasts!!! AND ITS THE BEST. I love it, it makes my skin feel so clean and soft after using it, it doesn't irritate, it's so gentle for my sensitive skin and the ingredients are so nice! No alcohol, fragrance, sulfates, parabens, and coloring. I have acne and though most of it has cleared up, this soap has been my holy grail in keeping my skin and me happy. I will be buying a new bar once I run out of my current one, should last me a few more months, and yes I use it twice a day everyday and sometimes I love it so much I'll use it in the shower. I have used Drunk Elephant Pekee bar for the past 7 years and was looking for a more affordable yet comparable bar, as my husband started using my beloved Pekee and somehow burns through it. Men. Anyway, I loved the idea behind this product and packaging, was super excited to try it and then immediately disappointed. The good- the bar is a good size, it suds up, packaging is earth friendly and its affordable (3 stars for that). The bad- it was really drying and while still wet after rinsing I could feel some kind of film on my face, it created a squeekyness, IDK how else to describe it and not a good "squeeky type clean" either, this was a film of some kind that gets left over (less 2 stars for that). Was super weird and uncomfortable. My first thought is my serums etc aren't going to soak in properly with this film on there. So I grabbed my Pekee, washed my face again and, viola- soft and clean and hydrated, ready for skincare. Its just such a big difference in the way your skin feels afterwards that I am sticking with my DE Pekee and just going to order some CeraVe bars for him LOL Men wash their face with shampoo and somehow have perfect skin- don't feel bad for him! Side thought- people could be getting such different results due to the water in their area. We have hard water here in Arizona that could be interacting with it.. just something to ponder.Jen
about the product: great lather, nonscented, and feels great on my skin. it does leave my skin feeling a bit squeaky clean after but i don't mind considering how soft it leaves my skin. how it helps me: i have combination skin with an oily t zone n normal skin everywhere else. on top of that, the crease around my nose gets really red and peels when the season changes since middle school til now (i'm 24). i used to apply heavy moisturizers in the area to help and even then, it would take a month for the redness to subside and my skin to grow back. the redness started again this year and after using the milk bar and the probiotic face serum, the redness and peeling went away in 3 days! i was in awe and only use this cleanser now. it doesn't dry out my skin or leave it oily. tips: rather than wetting the entire bar, i use the back of my nail to get a few shavings and then use a bit of water to lather the soap in my hand and then my face. it's a great way to build up the lather but also keeping the bar as dry/clean as possible! i've had this bar for more than 6 months n i've still barely made a dent in it!ivy

I have never heard of this product until I was in Target in search of a black owned skin cared company. I browsed and browsed and I picked up another product and was about to check out when the it caught my eye. I read it and was happy to see for the melanin-rich skin, so I got the cleanser. It did not dry my skin like another cleanser I was using, which I was super happy about! It really did leave my skin soft. The only thing I don’t like about it so far (only used 1 time) is the scent. Smells a little mannish, it’s a tad bit strong. Wish they had a fragrance free cleanser but other than that I will keep using until I find a reason not to. I’m a Brown skin girl with sensitive skin and this is a WINNER. I’ve been using it since May 2021 and have restocked twice since. I like that other people have noted you only need to use a small amount because it goes a long way. I tend to use a bit more to feel luxurious every time I wash my face… ha! Tried the Meleskincare Gentle Hydrating Cleansing yes and really liked it. Loved that even after each wash my skin did not feel dry. Can be used in the morning and at night. It is a nice thick gel that foams up with water. Has a mild scent nothing strong. A little bit goes a long way. Really like that it’s designed for melanin-rich skin. So I got a free sample of this once, decided to try it even though it isn't marketed to me and it made my skin feel so soft that I went and bought the whole 3 piece kit! It doesn't do everything I need, and the scent isn't something I love, but I don't hate it either and it isn't too strong–it won't linger on your skin. I have combination skin that's fairly sensitive, but this didn't break me out. It's pretty gentle but it does somehow really make your skin super soft! I've used it with the other pieces in the kit but I don't think they are really necessary or work that well for me, personally, but I try to use this 3x a week to keep my skin baby soft! I love(d) this cleanser and it worked really well for me while being super gentle! but…i repurchased it and now it smells absolutely awful. even after you’ve washed it off your face it still has a lingering smell that is super strong! it smells like a nasty vegan organic knock-off cheddar Dorito, i know that’s super specific but the smell is dead on. super disappointed because i loved it enough to repurchase it when it had a very mild and different scent but now i am wondering how i am going to get through this next bottle.76clarissa
If you have sensitive skin, I highly recommend Burt’s Bees sensitive skin line. The Gentle Face Cleanser feels very light and gentle against the skin. It does not lather or foam up like some cleansers do, which may feel different at first. It has a mild celery or leafy scent but doesn’t smell heavy or artificial. “Fragrance” is not listed in the ingredient list (a must for sensitive skin!) so the scent must come from the natural ingredients. What I love most about this cleanser is that it doesn’t dry my skin out! My skin is naturally very oily, but after washing with other cleansers for oily skin, it can leave my skin feeling dry…thus causing it to produce more oil. This Burt’s Bees cleanser feels moisturizing, but doesn’t leave my face feeling greasy – something I have encountered with their face cleansers in the past. I'm not the type to wash my face in the morning because I'm sooooo lazy. However, this facial cleanser has made me realize that it's not all that bad. Ever since I started using this cleanser, I noticed that my skin has given a great improvement. I have very sensitive skin and I put the wrong product on, my skin would have a nast reaction to it.
