I cannot live without this. I am a redhead and growing up there was nothing I hated more than sunscreen. Not only was it sticky, but is smelled very distinctly like sunscreen and I was always the kid made fun of for the white streaks or cast all over my skin. I hated sunscreen. When I started researching anti-aging and skin care regimens as an adult, and everything told me to wear sunscreen everyday, I cringed. But, the thought of wrinkles made me cringe more. I tried a lot of different facial SPFs. Then I found Supergoop!. I never want to stop using this product. It does not smell like anything (including sunscreen). It is not sticky when you put the right amount on. It is completely invisible and it is so hydrating without clogging pores (adult acne struggle is real!). This entire brand has a solution for every need that a fair redhead who despises traditional sunscreen could need. I am so in love with my daily SPF, I never miss it. I was really reluctant to try this sunscreen to be honest, and mainly for the name “super goop”. To me that sounds like the sunscreen was going to be gooey and thick, and if you throw in the word “glow screen” I thought for sure I would be walking around like a disco ball. The consistency of the product itself is quite opposite of what I thought. i only apply a small amount because a little goes a long way. The consistency is thin enough to smooth onto my face and settles into the perfect finish. I’m on day two of trying this sunscreen because I’m wearing it with different products. Yesterday I tried under my full coverage makeup and no greasy face so yeah! This morning I tried it with some bronzing drops to add some color and again the consistency is gorgeous. Overall, I feel like this is a great product, especially for us oily face combination skin peeps, I’m really impressed. I also heard it goes great when mixed with tinted moisturizers so I will try that next. This is probably one of my favorite sunscreens I've ever tried! I've tried buying other sunscreens, mineral ones that "don't leave a white cast" and cheaper chemical options, and I just purchased this sunscreen for the fourth time. I also come back to this because it's a reliable choice and have had no problems. I'm Southeast Asian with a skin tone that's on the lighter side of the medium/tan range, so if I wear a 100% mineral sunscreen, my skin is light enough that it blends in but also dark enough for someone to tell that my skin tone looks off (sort of like a white cool-toned tint to my warm skin?). In other words, I just look a bit paler than usual and it looks unnatural. With this sunscreen, I don't have to think about if you can see it on my skin or if it's not blended. I usually put on more sunscreen than suggested (just to be safe), and this glides on extremely easily over my skin ( and I also didn't notice any scent/an unpleasant chemical smell). It is a bit slippery (no oils are in this, just silicones), but your skin will feel soft after rubbing it in. Speaking of which, you don't need to put in a lot of effort to apply! I had recently gotten jaw surgery and had switched to a different sunscreen (chemical, but had a white color that disappeared after rubbing in). I had incisions on the left and right side of my bottom jaw, which sunscreen would be necessary to prevent scarring, and I found that I had trouble rubbing in my sunscreen (walking into harsh lighting, I'd see white along the sides of my jaw from not blending well enough). I switched to this instead and had no problem, nor did I have to worry about having any weird coloring. The finish is a soft matte, almost similar to the Fenty Pro Filter Instant Retouch Primer. Neutrogena’s Invisible Daily Defense Sunscreen Lotion broad spectrum SPF 30 is such a pleasant product to use. First off this lotion provides superior broad spectrum UVA/ UVB protection with antioxidant to help fight environmental aggressors such as cold, ozone, and pollution. My first impression- I love the mild fruity scent! The formula is nice and light, rubs in 100% without any white residue sitting on my skin. It feels hydrating to skin, almost like applying lotion. And to me it’s important that this product is non- comedogenic. This sunscreen has worked very well for me, providing great everyday protection for sun and environment. Literally horrible. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before purchasing. Usually do but I was out of town and picking up some essentials from Target and came across this and hardly read it… saw 60 and “NEW” so I figured I’d try it. I usually like Neutrogena sunscreens and they’re a pretty safe option. Not this one. All of the reviews say “not for face” and I wish I would’ve read that prior to using on my face! The skin on my face is horribly irritated- puffy eyes and very dry scaly skin under my eyes… dried out my skin very badly. Do not use this on your face. Probably safe on the rest of your body but I’m not even willing to try. This is day 3 of not using this sunscreen and my face is still irritated and puffy. Weird orange tint to sunscreen and not sure why that is necessary. Kind of pricey but I overlooked the price because I know Neutrogena is typically good.kbraz
Been using this for a few months now and can say that I love it. Like it says for me it does not cause breakouts which has been an issue in the past with many facial sunscreens. That's why I waited a while to review I wanted to put this through the ringer. So I'm about to give you an in depth review of my usage over the last few months. First off this does go nicely over many many many facial products and treatments as I have a whole repertoire of products that I've used or tested or tried out for the sake of it. And this applies nicely. I like to warm it up in my hands and then press onto my face and rub in like you would a moisturizer and make sure to get your ears as well. It does not leave a white cast on my face which is nice and doesn't feel oily or greasy because it's oil free. It can feel a bit gritty for some reason but I've gotten past that it's all good. I aloow it to sink in for about a good 10 minutes if I'm doing makeup and then I begin my routine. Have not had any problems doing makeup with this underneath as well. Works fantastic. The only reason I give this 4 stars is because if you have a face full of makeup and you'd like to reapply this is not it! Because as we know 2 hour application is best if you're out and about in the sun. Which usually I am all day. So I'd recommend a spray product or a powder product for an alternative. Now if you're going natural for the day even though we don't like makeup wipes maybe carry some miceller wipes and wipe your face down and reapply to prevent product build up which even though this is breakout and oil free if you're reapplying as directed. Imagine a 12 hour day you'd be reapplying 6 times that's a lot of product going onto your face to be cleansed off at the end of the day. This is why some form of wipes stay within my reach for easy cleaning to make reapplication a breeze and end of the day cleansing a bit easier. But I only recommend this if you have or know a brand that works for you. My friend who also works outside and is religious about sunscreen uses a facial cleaning water product and reusable cotton pads. But overall. This sunscreen is great haven't gotten burnt and I'm in the sun all day every day in hot Louisiana.jessica.h

Since high school, I have dealt with acne. It used to be a lot worse, but since I started using a prescription acne medication (Taro-Adapalene Benzoyl Peroxide) it has been manageable. My daily routine now, at age 24, prior to being sent these products from @dermalogicacanada #giftedbydermalogica included a facial exfoliation 2-3 times per week, a gentle astringent, a serum in the mornings, and eye cream and moisturizer to finish. I replaced the moisturizer in my regular routine with this one instead, and the exfoliator with a daily cleanser I was also sent. I will admit that although I did my full skincare routine every morning for the month or so after receiving this product, I did miss some nights when I was just too tired, so maybe if I had done every night as well, I would have noticed a difference. However, I did not. My skin has still been breaking out to the same degree as it was before. Perhaps these products would be beneficial for people who just break out only every so often rather than for someone like me, who has acne-prone skin. I also found that if I didn't squeeze out enough of this moisturizer onto my face, when I tried to rub it in and make the smaller amount work, it would actually start shedding as my hands brushed over it. I think it's because the moisturizer is fairly thick, as I've experienced sunscreen having this same reaction before. I had to wet my hands and add some water to my face to get rid of the shedding/make the rest soak into my face. So after that, I always ensured I had too much moisturizer squeezed out rather than not enough. Although my face FELT matte after using it, it sure didn't appear it. I haven't found a good mattifying moisturizer that really does work for my face, so I suppose I wasn't surprised that my face still looked shiny after using it, although I was a bit disappointed, since that is what this moisturizer claims to do. I don't think this moisturizer is bad by any means, since I do like the SPF protection, and it did help keep my face from getting too dry. However, I personally would not buy it again.Alexandra
I have very oily skin in my t-zone and so for me this doesn’t dry to a fully matte finish in that area, I’d say it’s more of a natural finish. But it’s not greasy at all and does help to reduce oil production during the day, so I chalk this up as a win for sunscreen. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and it hasn’t broken me out at all and may even be helping keep my skin clear (hard to tell because I use other actives). So far it’s my favourite moisturizer with SPF so I’ll keep using it. The only thing I don’t love is that is has fragrance, not sure why that’s necessary. However it does dissipate once it dries. I recently switched to dermalogica for all my skin care needs. I selected products after having read up on them and the ingredient lists from different lines to suit my skin needs. Although I have oily and super congested skin, it has been a while since i've actually broken out and by that I mean like terrible cystic break outs (which I suffered from in high school). Among ALL the things I purchased, this one sadly disappointed me sorely. I'm so pleased with the rest of my products even though a lot of them weren't cut for my skin type but this one while being meant to "clear breakouts" did, in fact, the opposite! This is an awesome product from Colorscience due to the color match (Face Shield Flex in Fair) and I am thrilled to have found it! Not only does it have the UVA/UVB protection (plus added bonus of blue light and infrared radiation protection), but it contains hydrators and antioxidants that make the skin look and feel amazing. Additionally, it is a 100% mineral formula that is gluten free, paraben free, oil free, fragrance free and phthalate free (all a must for my sensitive skin!). Previously, I used the Sunforgettable Total Protection in Classic but it was too dark/noticeable for my ivory skin so I used the Concierge service and they recommended the Sunforgettable Total Protection Flex product in Fair and it is a perfect match! I have dry, sensitive skin so sunscreen is tricky – I need mineral because chemical is irritating, but mineral ingredients like zinc oxide can be quite drying. It’s rare that a mineral sunscreen is as hydrating as this one, and I love that about it. My face never feels tight and dry by the end of the day. However, even for my dry skin, the finish is a bit too dewy. On someone with more oily skin, this would be downright greasy. I’m also rather pale and my skin tone is cool, but this shade is truly pink! Not pinky-beige but actually a cool apricot color. I’m able to make it work but it does look a bit odd. This probably works very well for extremely fair, cool skin tones — think folks that freckle very easily. Overall, cosmetically elegant and really hydrating. I have skin that can range from super pale to medium summer tan throughout the span of a few months, so I wanted to find a product that might work throughout the year, even though I thought it was a total wild goose chase. I was talking to my mom after she visited her Dermatologist, and she kept telling me all about this new makeup and skincare brand that her Derm recommended. I was really intrigued because I wanted to incorporate SPF into my daily routine, but I was not sure how. I knew that I definitely did not want one of those white-cast sunscreens that offered minimal protection which my very sensitive skin would have a bad reaction to. So after my mom ran out of the products from her Derm's office, we went to the website, which happened to be on sale, and that is the day I got super invested in this website and my skin. After trying this product for about a month I decided that I was done with everything else, this product is the only one that I have found that works for every single color or shade that my skin might be during any season and is always a perfect match. I no longer need to spend hours, time, and hundreds of dollars trying to find my shade in a single product, let alone a full face of products. I love that I am able to use SPF 50 and look full of life (not at all ghosty). I also know that it will last all year, through everything, and still look great because I wear it every single day, through +8 hours of school, sports, lazy days, vacations at the beach, swimming for hours, and through Louisiana summers where it was worn for a minimum of 8 hours, stayed through sweaty workouts, hours of being submerged in salt and chlorine pools, and throughout a shower. This product is one of my favorites, and I am not sure if I will ever find one to beat it, but there is one thing that is not my favorite, such as how it will never really dry down all of the way. It gives the skin a great glow, and nice coverage for me (for people that want fairly light coverage, which is pretty much just your skin with a light hint of something on, this may be a bit more coverage than you are used to, for high-coverage lovers, where the actual skin is completely covered in color(s), this may be a bit less coverage then you are used to, but for medium coverage people, this is probably your regular amount of skin-to-color), but I also feel that some days it can feel like a more medium-full coverage, and somedays a more light-medium coverage but that is all up to you.

It will leave an ever so slight shine on your face, which translates to a glow on my skin, so if you are oily or prefer a completely matte look then this product probably isn't for you. I find it wears lovely under my foundation–something that can be a challenge with sunscreens. I love this formula so much but had to knock a star off because of the use of chemical filters. If this sunscreen was purely physical it would be a 5/5 holy grail formulation. I keep testing out all-mineral sunscreens and always come back to this one. I use this as my daily sunscreen! Honestly I haven’t had a lot of luck with many sunscreens because of white-cast, oiliness, etc, but this one has been the best formula of the ones I’ve tried in the past. It’s a lightweight formula but you can definitely feel it on your face for the first 20 minutes after applying. It definitely protects your skin and it feels like a clean product, and not too heavy. It has a slight white-cast that goes away after a minute of rubbing in. My only downsides are that it leaves an oily/glossy finish (which I personally dislike) and that it pills with other products. The gloss isn’t terrible, you can certainly cover it up with some powder, but not too bad alone. It definitely can pill so I have opted out from using it with makeup or serums. I keep my morning skincare routine very minimal (just wash and moisturize) so that this sunscreen will not pill. I’ve had it pill before with the cerave vitamin c serum. Actually, this is the only sunscreen that has met all my criteria. It also makes my skin look and feel amazing. I have acne prone skin, I’m combo oily, I don’t like feeling anything on my face, and I enjoy makeup. I’m also on a retinoid. I have been using this sunscreen for over a year, and continue to come back to it when I go exploring to see if there’s something better. So far, there isn’t! The finish is natural. It’s not too shiny and not too matte. It literally just makes my skin look healthy and moisturized but not oily at all. There is absolutely no white cast. It does not pill under any makeup I’ve tried. It layers up beautifully. I’ve reapplied 3 times in a day and it manages to stay silky and not cakey on my skin. It does have a very mild, pleasant scent- which is great because I hate fragrances in products or ones that smell naturally of battery acid. It does not sting around my eyes AT ALL. It also has the added benefits of improving my skin texture and look of my complexion. Though it doesn’t add coverage, per say, I can go without my powder foundation when wearing this. I bought this in the Spring & have used it every day for months. I’m in the sun a lot and as a sunscreen it works well. I use it once a day & it’s nearing the end now, lasting much longer than I expected. At this point in the products’ life, I can see a bit of oil separation, so I need to give it a small shake before using. Fortunately, I didn’t have any issues with packaging that other reviewers mentioned. I don’t wear concealer, foundation, or any kind of make-up on my skin. I bought this because I wanted something that could even out my skin tone without using make up. In the summer months I did NOT love it. Although the glow is nice, I found it was way too shiny & made my skin look oily & sweaty. That being said, I also bought the SUPERGOOP! (Re)setting powder SPF45 & found the combination of the two worked really well together. I would use this first thing in the morning, and reapply sunscreen with the resetting powder before heading out. The powder toned down the excessive shine while still maintaining the even look of my skin. Now that we’re coming to fall however, I actually really like this sunscreen by itself! I live in a place where the climate during fall & winter is much drier (the sun is also lower in the sky, which makes a difference for shine). As a result, my skin is a lot drier & the sunscreen actually works very well and looks really good. In summary, I would recommend this for the fall/winter, but not for the summer. In the future, I’ll probably just buy the mini size and use it when the climate is drier and find something more suitable for the summer.perogypizza
I was really reluctant to try this sunscreen to be honest, and mainly for the name “super goop”. To me that sounds like the sunscreen was going to be gooey and thick, and if you throw in the word “glow screen” I thought for sure I would be walking around like a disco ball. The consistency of the product itself is quite opposite of what I thought. i only apply a small amount because a little goes a long way. The consistency is thin enough to smooth onto my face and settles into the perfect finish. I’m on day two of trying this sunscreen because I’m wearing it with different products. Yesterday I tried under my full coverage makeup and no greasy face so yeah! This morning I tried it with some bronzing drops to add some color and again the consistency is gorgeous. Overall, I feel like this is a great product, especially for us oily face combination skin peeps, I’m really impressed. I also heard it goes great when mixed with tinted moisturizers so I will try that next. If I wear this sunscreen alone without makeup I may dab some powder in my t-zone for extra reassurance but I will try that next.joy.w
I loved This sunscreen, let’s start there. we went on vacation to Egypt and this was going to be my ultimate test as sweat and direct intense sun would be the test of all tests. I placed it over my vit c serum and moisturizer and applied as directed before leaving our hotels. We took it with us to reapply regularly. For the first couple days the formula kept together but then it separated into a clear liquid and what I am supposing is the golden part. I shook vigorously and it homologated together a bit. But back at the hotel under ac it came back together. This separating was a bummer because no amount of shaking (with normal strength not a machine) would not bring it back together under the heat which when we really needed it. This being said, it still did its job! Protected and nourished my skin while under that intense climate. I would like really like a water proof version for water sports as this washed away when at the beach and snorkeling but kept when sweating. As for people commenting about piling, the chemicals are reacting… what ever is being used underneath or on top is causing the split of the formula. This made my pores non-existent! This is the secret celebrities use to keep their skin looking oh so natural, put a pore primer underneath, and some highlighter, and you will have flawless skin. It evens out my skin tone and blends seamlessly into my skin. All sunscreens are either WHITE, greasy, OILY, yucky, or heavy, this is like a second layer OF YOUR SKIN! The velvety blend and beautiful texture just melts into your skin and creates a skin identical beautiful base, that replaces the need for makeup. Drugstore tinted sunscreens are usually horrible, and many others at Sephora or dermatome are much more expensive, and with sunscreen you must apply LIBERALLY, so having a cheaper option like this is worth it so you can be generous with your sunscreen and keep your skin safe. Even though it is tinted, it will not cover up hyperpigmentation, acne, or wrinkles, putting a primer underneath after the rest of your skincare is crucial to help it fill out pores and wrinkles. While this can work with most skin tones, it doesn't work for people who i know who are mixed race are, or have medium skin tones, if you have yellow, peach, or golden undertones and you are fair, or dark, this will blend into your skin, otherwise go for elta md spf 46.faatima.r
This is as far as I go with face makeup and the more I use it the less hyperpigmentation I have thanks to avoiding nasty tints that sink into your pores and cause congestion. Highly recommend for acne prone, textured skin. Simple fix to the tackiness is putting on bareminerals foundation over it. Buildable and leaves you with hydrated, moisturized, and protected skin. Alone it is very dewy and just the finish for hot dry Florida days. When the humidity kicks up, adding some powder to prevent transfer and keep it from feeling tacky is all you need. Perfect product! I've tried far too many high quality and "clean beauty" tinted spfs and this checks all my boxes. There is no such thing as a perfect spf but with a couple hacks this baby comes close. Nice texture — silky but not oily. It leaves more of a dewy, than an oily look. It's unscented, and water-based with none of the unhealthy ingredients that are already banned in other countries, but that can be sold legally in US cosmetics. It also contains some good ingredients such as niacinamide. The tint works for my light skin. It looks dark when it comes out of the tube but blended in well and has just enough pigment to even skintone without looking like you are wearing makeup. (For reference, my skin tone is about the same as Neutrogena Healthy Skin products in Fair to Light 20 tone.) It has a warm undertone, so would probably be better for people with the same. I'm not sure if it would leave a light cast for darker skin tones, but I don't believe it would leave that ghostly white cast some zinc oxide sunscreens do. This was my first time trying a sunscreen from this brand and I was not that impressed. I got this one and the non-tinted version of this, and both were just not that great. They don't sit well over certain moisturizers (I use cerave cream) and can pill/bunch up depending on the skincare you have underneath. The tint on this claims to be universal, but it was noticeably darker compared to my natural skintone. I'm Asian with light/fair skin (Fitzpatrick type 2), and the color difference was so obvious. I applied this to my face and neck, and it was so dark compared to my chest. I was confused because reviews with lighter skin said the tint was fine, but it might also be that people don't apply an appropriate amount for proper spf coverage. The tint on this is really suited for those who are a solid medium/tan skintone. This is also not dark-skinned friendly (I had my friend try it out), as it leaves you looking ghostly. Also, the smell is similar to that of rubber tires. I do like that it's spf 50 and lightweight, but the cons heavily outweigh the pros for me that I would not find myself ever purchasing this again.Kev
Recently with the influx of skincare and makeup videos on apps like Instagram and tik tok, I've been seeing so many things about sunscreen and sun protection. I'm only 25 but I've started to notice some fine lines and signs of sun damage since I'm quite pale and fair skinned, which is all the more reason for me to use this. I've tried other sunscreens for the face but most of them leave a white cast or make my skin feel even more oily than it already is, or even pill up on dry areas. That was until I went searching for the best face sunscreen and found this. At first I was hesitant because of the price, and thought about it for a few months. I mean $37 for sunscreen is definitely a lot, but to those wondering if it's worth it: it definitely is. This sunscreen is absolutely amazing, it's light, fluid, makes me feel like I'm wearing nothing at all, and best of all leaves NO WHITE CAST!!! I love knowing that I'm protected and the spf 50 is great for someone like me with super pale skin. The only issue I have with it is that it does leave my face looking a little oily but usually I'll just put a bit of powder on and it looks normal. I would definitely be interested in trying something that has a more matte finish, if available. Also I will say if you use the recommended amount of sunscreen daily you will go through this bottle pretty quick. I'm so glad I decided to try this particular sunscreen from La Roche-Posay {already being happy with, -and using their SPF50 for children for both me and my son} wanting something that felt a bit lighter for the face and neck especially. I have very sensitive, reactive skin prone to redness {not diagnosed but ticks every box for Rosacea} and not only does this sunscreen not cause any irritations whatsoever, but my skin seem calmer and happier since I've started using this nearly daily and I've had no flare ups and putting it on. There's not even a hint of redness {that can even be brought on by my kind moisturiser that is great for me otherwise}. Anyone with finicky skin knows that this in itself is so nice to find, – but not only have I had these results every time for weeks now, but it also seem to make my make up look and last b e t t e r, which I find hard to expect from a sunscreen. So much so that I've stopped using a primer before make up application {and rather just use this sunscreen and then a cc cream and some translucent mineral veil, and I have had more compliments on my skin than ever}. The consistency is quite runny and light, but I find that to be a great feature for a sunscreen for the face as it melts in with no white cast whatsoever. It stays a bit tacky to the touch {and skin looks healthy 'glowy' on me}, which I now only appreciate as that might be what then has make up sit well on top too. I bought this sunscreen because it was recommended by Hyram for its quality: it's fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and is a mineral sunscreen, which is more protective for the skin. However, I heard a LOT of complaints about the whitecast that this sunscreen leaves. Trust me when I say that it's avoidable! I do have very pale skin, so whitecast does not affect me as badly, but anyone can make this product absorb well if they apply small amounts at a time to each section of their face and gently pat it in with fingers until completely absorbed. The key is not to use too much. If you do and you smear it all over, it will definitely leave a whitecast. So apply the small amounts and do it in layers because this will help it better absorb, make sure your skin is fully protected, and make sure that it does not leave a whitecast. Your skin will just be a little bit brighter afterwards, and it won't feel overly greasy. Compared to a lot of other facial sunscreens with good ingredients, this one is more affordable and of just as good quality.Claire F
Pros!! – I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin. I’m also very sensitive to scents. I had no problems with this sunscreen. -Washed off well in the shower, just scrubbed my arms, etc a few times with honest co liquid shampoo. – Water repelling for water fun! I’m happier that someone wears sunscreen than not at all but I do prefer to follow the American Dermatology Association guidelines which recommend a combination of minerals and chemicals. This is my best easy explanation about sunscreen ingredients I would tell my clients and now I’m telling you. Minerals block and reflect the rays like a shield. Unfortunately, there are some tiny little pinholes in that shield. That's when chemical sunscreens come into play and they help to absorb the rays in a healthy manner instead of letting them become cancer, fine lines, or sun damage. So the combination is ideal. Also using one that has more minerals will be more oil-free and matte because minerals absorb oil. Mineral sunscreen is also more calming to sensitive skin than chemicals alone. So the combination is best. If you take a peek at your SPF and find it doesn’t meet these standards just finish up what you have because you should never throw something away. When you run out you’ll be prepared to upgrade your sunscreen game. Follow my “press and massage” method to apply your sunscreen without a white cast. And then my “hot spot” rule to know when to reapply. Let’s also not argue about SPF. I know recently that some products were found to have ingredients that are known to be cancer-causing. I bought this while on vacation in FL and now I love it. I have been trying to find a sunscreen that works for me and this does. I have eczema and very sensitive skin but this doesn’t irritate me. My eyes are also very sensitive and I’m usually fine with this if I apply lightly around my eyes. The white cast is not great but if I rub it in for 30-60 seconds and follow with a blending brush I can get it to go away but I’m also very pale. When you sweat it can turn white (I had that happen in FL) so watch for that but for everyday use that’s not an issue for me. I despise when products pill on my face as many sunscreens do but that hasn’t been an issue for me. I also look very shiny with some other sunscreens and I don’t love that but this one finishes down much less shiny I wouldn’t say it’s matte though. So far it’s been one of my favorites. I finished a bottle of this around 1.5 to 2 years ago. It was one of the first few (10?) mineral sunscreens I tried with when I first learned about the sensitive skin safe sun filters. I could finally start to wear sunscreen without crying! Previously, I forgoed daily SPF because it would give me rashes, make my face burn (sting) and give me eye irritation. Since trying more mineral sunscreens (because who doesn’t go through a phase of obsessively trying all the mineral sunscreens you can get out there when trying to find a daily mineral SPF?), I have realized this isn’t a very good sunscreen. Using the proper amount, my face would be quite white/blue/purple? And that’s the white cast on someone fair (fair as in the lightest shade of concealer is a bit to too dark for me- fair). I can’t imagine the white cast from this SPF working on anybody, I wore it with a full face of makeup. The zinc (even with shaking the bottle to mix it) is a bit gritty and could irritate my skin when I was applying it. It clung to dry patches, and on top of that caused flaking and further dehydration. Dry skin and this sunscreen just do not mesh. The formula is super liquidy and not moisturizing at all. I think this would work well with oily skin types, but can not vouch as my skin is super dry.
I have been using this as my daily face sunscreen for over a decade. I have tried other brands and no other brand compares. I am asian with a pale complexion and don’t wear makeup. I like this because: 1. Goes on quickly and blends quickly 2. Makes my complexion look better – more even toned; reduces visibility of age spots 3. Does not get greasy or make my face shine as the day goes on 4. Provides good all day protection – used at amusement parks, on the beach in Hawaii I would cry if they stopped making this. So this was my first time purchasing this specific kind of sunscreen from Bare Republic. I normally use the regular one that isn’t clear. Not a fan of the feel of the sunscreen. It has like little beads or something in it and feels weird as your putting it on. My kids didn’t like it. It does dry clear so that is accurate. It doesn’t smell like mango to me but that isn’t a big deal. It’s the ingredients that I’m not a big fan of. It’s not as clean as I thought it was. I much prefer their regular sunscreen. I wouldn’t buy again or recommend it if you care about what’s in your sunscreen. Disclosure: I received a sample of this product from Poshly for free in exchange for a fair and honest review. I ended up using this product twice this weekend and loved it. The first thing I noticed was the scent. It has a nice scent to it and I really enjoyed that it is not an overpowering scent and that it doesn't smell like coconut since most other sunscreens do. It came out in a light mist, so I didn't have to worry about it going on too thickly and not being able to absorb. After I sprayed it on, I didn't really even notice it was there because it wasn't greasy. While wearing this product I was working in my garden and appreciated that the dirt, mud, etc. wasn't clinging to the sunscreen as I worked. After I was done outside I took a shower and had no issue with the water repelling off my skin due to the remaining sunscreen. It also didn't leave any residue on my clothing. I am going to Hawaii so I went to Target to get reef safe/friendly sunscreen. I looked at all the different options and I bought 4 different kinds. This Bare sunscreen leaves no white residue/white cast, it’s Hawaii reef compliant, water resistant AND it’s 100 spf! I definitely like this one the best. I also tried the Target brand Up&Up mineral 50spf, Neutrogena Sheer Mineral 50spf, and Coppertone Pure&Simple Kids mineral 50spf. Those all had white residue probably due to the zinc/minerals. Target only had the Bare Face but not the Body, I would love to try the Bare Body Clearscreen in the future as well!April G.

i initially was super exited about this spf from hearing so many great things about it, but after trying it for myself i was dissatisfied. i want to start by saying this is just how it worked for me and my skin and judging by how many people love this product, it still might be a good option for you, but personally it’s not good for my skin. First off i was a little disappointed by the size of this product, but that’s not a huge deal since they list the size on the website, so that’s more on me. But when i out it on i noticed it was very streaky and didn’t sink into the skin well. It also left a white cast (which i normally don’t have issues with since i have a lighter complexion) and a few hours after wearing this i noticed it had started to pill up on my face.shelly
After reading reviews I was so excited to try this sunscreen. It took a long time to arrive (first package got lost in the mail and they had to send me a second one). When it did arrive I did not notice much difference between my current drugstore face sunscreen and this product even though my drugstore sunscreen is less than half the price. I wouldn't say this sunscreen is "greasy" but it definitely leaves a shine. I didn't experience a white cast and there is not an intense smell which are all good. It did not go that well under makeup which is one of the main reasons I bought it, I saw reviews saying it was even a "primer" but did not work well for me in this department. Overall it is fine sunscreen however I will likely stick w/ my cheaper and equally effective drugstore brand that is also a higher SPF.Emily
i have very oily skin and i’m obsessed with sustainable beauty, so i was excited to have a lightweight sustainable spf (the daily is a bit too heavy for my liking). at first i loved this; it did pill a bit, but if i blended quickly and waited ten minutes before doing makeup it was fine. it’s lightweight and hydrating and truly an spf “fluid.” however, i noticed these relentless little bumps around my mouth, where i was clear before. after some research i found that the mouth area is a prime place for “fungal” acne, and that an emulsifier in this spf (glyceryl stearate SE) is a major fungal acne trigger. i stopped using and my skin cleared up so quickly. for anyone experiencing this: turmeric and ginger clear fungal acne, so i’ve been using the turmeric mask stick which has helped tremendously. the search for a sustainable spf for oily girls continues.gabby

I feel like I've honestly tried every single SPF out there and had given up hope of finding one that doesn't make me look and feel like a grease ball! I've got oily skin, acne prone my whole life. Been working hard at getting it cleared up with Tretinoin, Vit C, and Niacinimide. My skin barrier is healed now, and the oil is so much less than what it used to be, but I've been avoiding using sunblock even though I'm supposed to with Tretinoin because it would cause my foundation to literally melt off. THIS STUFF IS A MIRACLE!!! Not even kidding- it soaks up ALL of my oil the ENTIRE day. Even my stone stays matte! I can use it with a light moisturizer first too, which is crazy, though usually I've just been doing serums and this. Such good products for my skin and the part I'm most excited for is that it doesn't have the chemical sunscreen ingredients, just zinc, so it's reef safe and I can use for our trip to Hawaii! The tint doesn't do anything more than prevent it from being a pure white cast, so don't count on that for acting like a foundation, but it does soften the look of my blemishes and reduces the look of pores. Someone with very fair skin and few scars might do well with this though, but my skin is a medium/neutral and the cast is a little pinkish for me. I have very sensitive skin and didn't react to this at all! It washes off easily at night too (I do a double wash with oil first and it comes off with that right away). I'm a customer for life, no joke!
I love this sunscreen so much. I've been trying a ton, and I keep coming back and reaching for this one. The texture is light and mousse-like, easy to spread, and just feels really good going on. Once it's on, I don't feel it at all–there's none of the tightness or dry cracking feeling some mineral sunscreens leave (I have combination skin). The light tint is perfect for my complexion, none of the orangeness some sunscreens have for me. It doesn't transfer once dried down, and the finish is a beautiful matte almost foundation like finish. I love the blurring effect–it evens out my redness and hyperpigmentation without looking heavy or cakey or emphasizing lines or wrinkles (I'm 42). I wish it was SPF 50, but I love this for lower exposure days. The tint, as I mentioned, is perfect for me, but I also wish there was a variety of shades available so people with darker skin tones could use this as well.QueenBee
I use this product daily as it is the only sunscreen based product that truly works on my very oily, pale & sensitive skin. It minimises pores and more importantly protects against UVA rays (most beauty products only protect against UVB rays). I would rate at 5 stars if it was available in factor 50, which I really need. The first sunscreen I have liked enough to finish the bottle. The best thing about it is that it's light enough that you can't feel it on your face- it doesn't stay greasy or rub off on everything you own (like some other mineral sunscreens do) so it is very practical for every day usage. As for the cast, I am light skinned with neutral undertones and it does leave a slight blue-ish cast on my face. It is not bad though and if you rub it in all the way it is hardly noticeable. If you notice no cast at all you are not using nearly enough and not getting the full SPF 30. I would recommend removing this before reapplying because at the end of the day if you have several layers on your face from reapplication, I found that if I scratch my face even lightly that it collects so much product under my fingernails. Additionally, if it gets in my hair it kind of gets stuck and then flakes at the end of the day. This is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5, and also because I wish it came in higher SPF as well. I'm looking for the most practical and convenient sunscreen for every day use and I think this is the best at this price point. I finished the bottle in about a month and a half- that is with daily use on my face and neck with at least two reapplications (two finger lengths worth of product each time).christinemaie
I just got this and I know it’s a winner. I purchased the Biossance mineral sunscreen and I didn’t care for it, mainly because it did not absorb into my skin (think layer of cream) and would run off my face when I’d sweat. Not cute :/ or comfortable. So I decided to switch to Dr. Dennis Gross and let me tell you… it absorbs into my skin like a dream, leaves no white cast (I have a light olive complexion), and the packaging is yellow! (I like yellow). I’m joking about the packaging, I’m sure there is more to love, but I can’t think of anything else at the moment. My main concerns are absorption and no white cast and those are met. Maybe in a few weeks I’ll see if there is a difference in my skin. The only thing though is the price. Yes, it’s higher than I’d like, but at the same time it is a quality sunscreen and in a skincare routine the sunscreen is the most important step… so I guess I’ll let it slide. For reference, I have normal to dry skin, packed with hyperpigmentation, pores and fine lines because I didn’t take the proper care/protection when I was young. I thought that I was not going to like this sunscreen but I actually do, and a lot! PROS: – Physical sunscreen: even being a full physical sunscreen, it doesn’t leave too much of a white cast. – It doesn’t irritate my eyes: because of being a physical sunscreen, I can apply it around my eyes and over my lids. Chemical sunscreens irritate my eyes. – Lightweight and easy to apply. – It worked well under my makeup but I needed to use a matte finish foundation to compensate the glowy finish that the sunscreen left on my skin (I apply quite a lot to get the SPF advertised) – It has some skincare ingredients but I don’t rely on my sunscreen to get what my aging skin needs (other than the SPF, of course) – Non scented formula: it doesn’t have any perfumes so it is perfect for any sensitive face out there – Reef safe. – Clean at Sephora. CONS – It is quite pricey, and that’s the only reason to give only 4 stars. – Applying liberally, as the brand recommends and as every sunscreen should be applied to get the level of protection in the label, you will end up with a very glowy finish. It still works with my makeup but I have to avoid glowy foundations or it would be too much glow. This is a really great tinted sunscreen. I wouldn’t apply it every 2 hours like suggested for sunscreens however this is my new daily go to foundation/moisturizer and sunscreen all in one. I love it! The texture has a nice creamy feel to it that soaks into my skin and doesn’t just sit on it or build up. I am 47 and my skin is showing signs of aging. Make up seems to just make all the little signs of aging even worse! With this, it soaks into my skin moisturizing it and leaving a nice tint that compliments my skin well. I don’t get any lines cakiness or residue from it like regular foundations. I love that it is specifically made for my face! EltaMD UV Restore is a 100% mineral sunscreen that claims to improve sun-damaged skin. It contains Squalane, Ginger Root Extract and Saccharide Isomerate which helps with skin smoothness, minimizes dark spots and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I really enjoy this formula but I have a few caveats with it. I find it to be gentle and nonirritating on my dry, sensitive skin. The ginger root extract does tingle when first applied but the sensation subsides. It is a fragrance-free formula which I really like (you can kind of smell the ginger root extract at first but it is not noticeable). When reading the reviews of this SPF, I noticed many people mentioning the white cast. I have a lightly pigmented skin tone so I decided to purchase the tinted version in case I needed to mix the two together. It was quite an investment, but I am satisfied with the way the sunscreen looks mixed together. The regular version alone creates too much of a white cast on my complexion. But when used in conjunction with the Tinted version, I find it to look more natural (3 pumps tinted and 1 pump regular covers my face, neck, and hands). When first applied, it does look a little shiny but since my skin is so dry the shininess does not last long and I normally apply the EltaMD Face & Body lotion on top. I do not use foundation or other makeup so I am unsure of how it may react to other products. But in my experience, the texture and application is great and a little product goes a long way. I bought this product hoping to find a US alternative to a JP product, but this did not make the cut. First, I avoid dimethicone in all skincare as I have oily skin and it seems to make it worse. My own mistake, I didn't realize this contains dimethicone. Second, and the biggest problem, I had a severe reaction to this product. A few hours after applying (tried it two separate times) my eyes became watering and swollen. This lasted for nearly 12 hours, even after washing my face. My partner also had the same problem. Neither of us were really outside sweating or swimming. I grew up in AZ, and every day my mom made me wear sunscreen, and every day I dreaded it. I cried, it burned my face, and left me all chalky. So as an adult, I stopped wearing it altogether through travels abroad, work outdoors… terrible idea. Then, this protectant changed the game and quelled my trauma. Buying this was my last-ditch effort at finding love with sunscreen, and it worked. The chemical formula means no white cast, no chalkiness, none of that zinc-burning sensation. It is like a jelly, and I swear it makes my face look even more radiant than without sunscreen. I am extremely sensitive to blue lights (fluorescent rooms make my skin red and irritated), and when I wear this in front of my screens and in offices, I no longer have that problem. When my friend recommended this daily sunscreen to me, I was so excited to get it. The idea of a clear and easily applicable daily sunscreen product seemed too good to be true. When I came to the site to purchase, I was a bit hesitant because it seemed really expensive for only 1 fl oz of product. If you use this daily, how could that much product last more than just a few weeks? I was intrigued, so I went ahead and bought it. While I am impressed with the quality of the application, I am very unimpressed with the product overall. I just can't justify spending this much money on so little of a product when I can easily buy 3 fl oz of just as good, or even better, facial sunscreen from the drugstore for only $10-$15. Also, after reading some of the other reviews about how the ingredients in this product are not even up to standard for sun protection, it feels like such a scam of a product. I think the idea is great, but it is disappointing to find that it's cons outweighs its pros. This is really the best sunscreen for my sensitive and mature skin. I have mild rosacea and was diagnosed with melanoma 2 years ago so a product that protects me and my sensitive skin is priceless! No irritation, redness, or other adverse effects ever experienced using this product. It's a pure mineral sunscreen and it's high concentration of zinc oxide was highly encouraged by me dermatologist. A couple of small drops, blend in a tad of my own foundation and voila ……… my face is protected and my own foundation is blended in for the ultimate sun protection living here in Florida. No white cast, not shiny, and blends into my skin perfectly. A couple of touchups during the day with my powder foundation compact and I am good to go! For the most part, the products I receive from LaLaDaisy are great. However, once I received an already expired vitamin C serum, and another time I received some retinol that was 3 months away from expiring. This time I purchased the Active Broad Spectrum SPF 45 sunscreen, and it is set to expire in 3.5 months. The product itself is great, but just be aware that you will most likely be receiving product that is close to expiring since it seems there is a lack of some quality control at their distribution center. I bought this sunscreen a year ago and kept waking up with major redness and swelling on my face the morning after I used it. For the longest time, I thought my face had become more sensitive to the sun, that I was developing a skin allergy. However, it wasn't happening on days I used my other sunscreen brands. Yesterday I gave it another try. It was only 15 degrees Celcius outside and after reapplying the sunscreen throughout the day I went to bed with an extremely red face that was swollen all the way up to my eyes. There is clearly something in this sunscreen that is causing this reaction. I've never had any allergies or skin allergies before to anything I've tried in the past.Ellen
