So I NEVER ever write reviews, but I couldn't not for this product – it is INCREDIBLE. I have suffered with bad skin sporadically for about 9 years and I have tried countless cleansers and treatments to stop flare ups but nothing worked – to the point where most days there would be new zits, pimples and scarring. I have been using this cleanser for about 2 weeks and I am so so shocked at how clear my skin is, I genuinely cannot believe it. I have however read that it drys skin out quite badly, so as I suffer from dry skin around my nose area, I have been using it only once daily with an intensely nourishing moisturiser. My skin now feels so soft and looks so glowy! If you have found that nothing works for you I could not recommend this product more, for the price it's worth a try!Megan
This stuff is great! I've been using it for years as recommended by my Dermatologist. Very gentle and effective to not lead to additional breakouts on my sensitive skin. I feel like so many of the bad reviews are people not understanding how products work or how this product works. This product will not work for you if you are mostly dry. And will backfire on you, causing other skin issues and leading you to think it's not working, when really you are using the wrong product for your skin type. This product is pretty gentle. So for those saying they didn't feel "clean" afterwards, it's because you're most likely use to bad products stripping the natural good oils from your face. In LOVE!! My friend is the one who told me about Mario Badescu products, and I’m forever grateful! Keep in mind that the Acne Face Cleaner can and will dry your skin out if you use it too much. I personally use it every other day to every three days. On my days that I don’t use the Acne Face Wash; I use the Glycolic Foaming wash! Absolutely love that one! Makes my skin feel absolutely amazing and clean, I usually use the Enzyme Cleaning Gel that they have right afterwards and it makes my skin tight and AMAZING! I was skeptical but excited to sample the Rapid Clear Treatment Pads. I already have a morning and night time face routine and this easily was added in and provided an amazing difference to my acne prone skin. I had a few cystic acne bumps when I started and overnight I could see and feel the difference. The pads have little scrubbers on one side that slightly exfoliate your skin as you wipe away any dirt and oil and wipe in the treatment. I enjoy the clean smell. I don't have consistent acne problems, but I am prone to cysts breakouts during times of stress, that quickly make themselves known, and take weeks to clear. I happen to have one of these breakouts a day before receiving this product, couldn't have come at a better time. After the first application, it stopped my flareup from progressing any further, but I didn't see a reduction in the redness around it. After the second application, I started to notice it was clearing up my live sore and redness. Historically, I have felt helpless, with these breakouts, and the only cure is time. I can positively say this product has changed that. The only downsides, are the scent of the product is less than pleasant, but doesn't remain once dry on the skin. Secondly, is the pad size. I purchased these based on the raving reviews and because I’ve had excellent luck with the acne eliminating gel but still get cystic acne on occasion. I’ve tried to use these twice now and both times my face was left intensely, unbearably itchy- and it did not stop. I like to do my acne regime at night before bed, and let me tell you my face itched like no other all night long and into the next morning. Only when I washed my face did it stop for good. The second time I just washed it immediately. I am very disappointed, but think it must have something to do with sensitive skin though I have no issues using the extra strength peels. I was surprised with a quality of these pads. My daughter is 12 and started developing some skin issues- blackheads, large pores etc. She got a huge pimple on her cheek, that just was getting bigger without popping. I thought we would need to go to a doctor to pop it. Then she started using Stridex pads about 3 times a week. The pimple popped by itself and now is getting smaller in size every day. The pads have a lite scent and sting the skin first 2-3 minutes after application. Waving with a fan helps to ease that sensation. But the result is worth giving them a go. Drying Lotion (pink) For me I would say the most effective of the three. It was suggested that buffering lotion and drying cream should be used together to get the same effect of the drying lotion. So I normally don’t write reviews cause I’m lazy, but I had to write one for this product. I have used this mask for roughly 3 weeks 2 times a week and let me tell you … I love it!!! I have super dry skin and most face masks rip all the moisture from my skin but this one doesn’t do that. It actually feels softer and isn’t super dry after. Going into pre-meno, I've been battling increased flare-ups of my adult hormonal acne. For more than a month now, two particular placed on my face have had new pimples flare up just as I was finally getting rid of old ones. If I see the smallest raise in the skin, the next morning it is is a full blown cystic monster that takes a full week to go down as it never truly comes to a head. I used the Buffering Lotion on a cyst that was quickly growing on my temple, and the Drying cream on a cluster that was just starting on my chin. I covered them both with the drying lotion, and left that on for about 4 hours while I tended to housecleaning and such. Before putting on my makeup to head out, I cleaned my face again, and put a little Buffering Lotion on both spots under my makeup, and then reapplied a little before bed after clearing my makeup off. I already noticed a huge reduction in size and redness of the cyst before I went out, and this morning, it is nearly completely gone. The chin breakout disappeared completely. Yes, there is a smell, but if you look at the ingredients, that is because there is sulfur in it, which is known to be very effective for getting to the root of a pimple. I came across a magazine ad of Exposed Skincare system when I was on the verge of giving up all hope after using Murad's system for one year without any success, and hearing negative reviews of the over-drying side effects of Proactiv from family and friends. I read the product descriptions and thought why not switch over at a much lower cost and see if its claims are true by trying out the system for a while! Well, that was April 2013 and I've been a devoted Exposed Skincare user for more than four years! This system WORKS!! You must be very diligent using all products in the system (Exposed Expanded Kit ) for a least one year. As time went on in the 6th month mark, I began to notice my skin gradually cleared up from existing acne with very rare new acne formation. By one year time, my face hardly had any acne at all! It is an amazing system and I have very stubborn skin. I've been battling acne since puberty. I am pushing 50 this year and I still have an occasional breakout from time to time. Thankfully, I did not have severe cystic acne, but I tend to breakout on both sides of cheeks with one or two juicy pimples and little zits on chin the T-zone. Thank to Exposed Skincare system, my stubborn acne issues drastically subsided and under controlled, and I've tapered off the the system a bit, but I do use the face wash and the clearing tonic religiously on the daily basis. I purchased this skin care about 6 months ago and have used it ever since. I really appreciated the packaging and instructions/tips that came in the box. It is a great basic cleanser and toner. I also think that the serums cause any breakouts to heal much faster than normal. If I ever neglect to use the cleanser for a couple of days, I can tell in my skin immediately. I didn’t rate 5 stars because both times I have ordered the kit, I’ve run out of cleaner and toner long before either serum but the cleanser is almost as expensive as the entire kit so it is a bit of a nuisance. I wish that the kit came with a larger bottle of cleanser and toner so that they run out around the same time as the serums. I was never super prone to acne and only really got pimples on my forehead or when I would wear makeup for long periods of time. But after having to wear masks in public, I began to get very bad "mascne" on my chin, cheeks, and nose. I tried so many different cleansers, toners, and moisturizers and this is the only combination that made any noticeable impact in my mascne. It cleared up about 80% of my acne and I loved the results so much that I ultimately ordered all the products in their full sizes. Be wary though that this regimen will dry out your skin when you first start it, so I wouldn't recommend starting it in the winter. I've been using this product for 2 years, sometimes 3x a week, sometimes 1x a month depending on where my skin's at and it's the only product that makes a difference for my sebum problem. I produce excess sebum, get a little greasy, and often have bumps around my mouth and chin and some hormonal acne. Sometimes the sebum bumps are hard for me to deal with because they just sit in my face until I pick them out or maybe after months they finally dissipate. As a picker trying to break the habit this mask helps me to reduce the sebum, prevent it from building up, and as an emergency mask to immediately dial back the redness and damage after a pick session. First of all, my skin is very acne-prone. I started using it about 6 months ago, in April. And I can tell it works well for me. I use the mask together with Caudalie Vinopure (cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer), and they are also with salicylic acid, even though organic one. In the first couple of weeks, I didn't see anything, that's why I used it not very regularly. But then decided to use it minimum 2 times a week, sometimes even 3, just to finally finish it and buy another one (don't like to overconsume). And I must say after 6 months of REGULAR use it works well. I don't remember when I saw actually my skin really oily. Maybe it's a good combination with oil-control Caudalie moisturizer, I don't know. But I have good results on my skin. I usually do it at night. One thing that I noticed is when you keep the mask longer than 5 minutes on, in the morning my skin is oily than it usually is with all these products. I thought the SLMD acne system was decent. 4 products came in the package. The salicylic acid cleanser was lightly exfoliating (nice for sensitive skin) and salicylic acid is a well-known, effective acne treatment. this comes in a lower strength than other SA cleansers, but i think that's because it is combined with step 2, the benzoyl peroxide lotion. Combining these two active ingredients in a skincare system is a great idea so you get the acne fighting benefits of both products, but don't irritate your skin by using the full strength versions of over the counter acne products. The night retinol serum was a new product for me. I have never used retinol but thought it was a great idea for treating acne scarring that most of us with moderate-severe acne have. The facial moisturizer was nothing impressive and I did not wear it during the day because I felt it made my skin oily, like most moisturizers. I like it for the nighttime though and it is nice and lightweight. Overall, this system did not significantly improve my acne. However, I thought it worked as well as other products I've tried and offered different benefits, like the retinol for scarring. I wouldn't be opposed to buying this system again and using it with some of my other favorite moisturizers and cleansers.hannah.n
This acne system worked pretty well for me. I have seasonal acne so I don’t have that much acne right now since it’s not yet summer but I do have a few minor blemishes here and there. I made sure to note how my skin was before and after use and I noticed it did help clear up the few blemishes I had. I really like how this acne system includes both salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide which are 2 powerhouse ingredients to fight acne. There’s also a retinal serum which adds that extra punch. Now I’ll review each individual product: the cleanser worked well; the directions say to use it after you already removed your makeup so I only tested its cleansing abilities on makeup-free skin and it cleansed it well without being too drying. Just a good, very basic cleanser. The BP lotion felt just like a normal lightweight facial lotion; it absorbed easily and didn’t leave a greasy feeling nor did it cause any adverse reactions. The retinol serum had a very nice texture/consistency and absorbed easily. It was mild enough to be used every night without causing flaky skin. The moisturizer I wasn’t a huge fan of because it was too basic for me. I don’t have overly oily skin so this wasn’t moisturizing enough for me but would prob be great for oily skin types. Overall I liked this acne system and how well rounded it is with its different ingredients, but I also found it boring. The whole line has a very simple, no-frills vibe which makes it good for those with more sensitive skin esp since everything is fragrance free. This vibe also extends to their packaging which I found to be very basic and boring and does not excite me at all. There are four different products in this box and it’s valued at 50 dollars claiming to be a 30 day supply. These are very much travel sizes that would not last 30 days and it seems that only some of the products are available for full size purchase. I don’t think this is at all worth 50 dollars but I’ll break down each product by itself which may be decent products if individually they are sold at an accessible price point. BP Lotion – By far the most impressive product in the box. It’s a 2.5% Benzyl Peroxide lotion which is actually the same level I get from my dermatologist so I was impressed by that! Have been using it to combat chest acne and it’s been gently helping it along. A better option than a lot of BP face washes like PanOxyl that have become trendy lately because with this it can actually be on the skin long enough to take effect. This is the only product in the box I would consider purchasing full size. Retinol Serum – It doesn’t tell what percentage this is so I’m not sure how effective it would be. Def had a strong smell that makes it seem more clinical grade but there was nothing to convince me that this is a product that would beat our other market competitors. Vitamin C Moisturizer – Really like the texture of this, very whipped and creamy. Light but still very moisturizing. I don’t know how you would really get the effects of Vitamin C from this when it’s so distilled and when it’s suggested to be used after the Retinol. Salicylic Acid Wash – I’m not a huge fan of salicylic acid wash in a cleanser as it can cause over inflammation when being combined with other acne products afterwards so I am slightly cautious with this. I have been using this on my body and it soaps up nicely and doesn’t leave the skin feeling stripped but using this then the BP lotion right after as suggested feels like it would be too harsh for my face.shannon.s

I quit using Stridex pads as a teen my skin thanked me for it! Stridex dried my face out, taking care of blemishes only temporarily. Skipping a day or two meant I would be punished with an even worse breakout than before, though. That's when I learned the pads were getting rid of ALL the oils my face actually needed in order to remain healthy. I learned to fight oil with oil began using an olive-oil moisturizer that cleared my face up! I won't go back to Stridex pads I don't allow my kids to, either.kayla.h

The Sensitive Skin Stridex is hard to find, but is so much better than the red, maximum strength version. Walmart is the only place I have been able to find it. so far so good. I've been trying these for about a week now and they seem to be working well. To be honest i'm unsure if it's truly "Tough on acne" It just feel like it's keeping me clean kind of like i'm using a toner after i wash my face. I tried this at first as a spot treatment and continued to breakout but didn't attribute this to the cleanser till I began using it on my whole face the next day. I used this product twice in one day and then felt my skin begin to burn. My skin is more oily and sensitive but this product dried my skin out so much that it feels tight and even flaked in areas, especially above my lips and T-zone. Good experience. As many have said I have dealt with acne since I was 12 I’m now 38 and my acne changed location, size and type. So I was stumped on how to battle it. I already was using a brand and line I really enjoyed and felt my skin looked bright and clean but then my acne shifted and it my routine could not keep up with the new acne. I’ve used the harshest products to the gentlest of products. AA caused no burning, flaking, patchiness or pain. I went thru the purge phase nothing shocking if you have honestly dealt with acne your whole life. And I did see improvements. My only complaint is why is the toner not included in the kit. If you want a complete acne line up you NEED the toner before adding it to my routine my face would sometimes seen dull or muted. I don’t wear makeup and after switching to this routine something was missing and when I looked in the mirror I felt washed out not bright even with clearer skin but I got the toner and gave it a month and it made a huge difference. If you are using this and feel something is making you feel less then 100% happy try adding the toner it makes a huge difference. After cleansing (and this may be meant to be this way) there is a layer of oil or product still on the skin, when using the toner it seems to wipe away some or help some absorb into the face and then my face began to feel bright again so please try this before giving up on the routine.Diana D.
SO I've had Curology for abt 6 months now and I've seen little to no improvement in my skin throughout the entirety of me using it.. I saw Averr's mask spray around a year ago and it had been on my mind since. My acne has been pretty mild but after being required to wear masks in a super busy environment, it had worsened tenfold. My acne became these huge, large bumps deep in my skin and my picking from anxiety created deep, angry scarring. I have been fighting acne since my early teens, and after dealing with extremely severe hormonal and cystic acne I ended up using 5+ prescription medications. Oh man! How do I even begin. I first heard of Tula because one of my favorite bloggers recommended a sunscreen (she was raving about how well it went under her makeup). I never got around to trying it out but that's how I found out about TULA. In the past year and a half I was on and off BC. I was on it for 2-3 months.. off of it for two months .. on it for 4 off of it for another 3 months and so on and so forth. Obviously i'm messing with my hormones so they went crazy and my skin freaked out. The mask did not help at all I feel like it was a mix of maskne and my hormones tbh. I tried so many products and nothing worked. I was so upset so many times. I have never had acne like this to the point where my bf even questioned it (not in a bad way) but him even bringing it up made me feel self conscious because he knew my skin was never like this. I wanted to cry every time I looked in the mirror. My make up looked so different. I wanted to keep my mask on at all times even when i was around people i felt comfortable. As I mentioned nothing worked. Most products either made it worse, made my skin oily, or just felt like they were sitting on my skin and not being absorbed by it. I came across this routine.. I kept the products in their boxes in the ULTA bag I bought them in because I had a feeling I would end up returning them. Foam cleanser: it’s fine. makes my face feel a lil tight and it feels a bit like it’s trying too hard to fight my oily skin. Might try adding in a hydrating toner to counteract that. 3.5/5 Spot treatment: again, it’s fine. it’s supposed to help even skin tone and fade old acne scars but maybe I just have some really stubborn scars, bc even after a month my maskne spots all over my chin are… still there. it does seem to help with my active breakouts maybe? also might be wishful thinking. 3.5/5 the moisturizer: can you ever call this a moisturizer??? It sinks into my skin almost instantly and feels like I didn’t even put anything on. while that’s fine for the AM, I’d like something more heavy duty to keep my skin hydrated at night. Listen…I started using this line from philosophy back in 2017 and was loyal for a few years, but decided to try other, cheaper alternatives once I knew more about skincare and how to "turn and learn" about my products. WELL I have tried SEVERAL times to replace this product with something cheaper but this is simply undefeated. I got a full size package of glycolic acid-based toning pads in one of my Boxycharm boxes and used them for two straight months trying to rule out their effectiveness, and same for similar hyaluronic acid-based products. But NOTHING impacts the texture of my skin more than this product does. Without fail, replacing it or cutting out of my routine leaves my skin texture rough, my pores are larger, and my breakouts are more frequent because my face is generally oilier. If your skin responds well to salicylic acid, this is THE best product to go into a daily night time routine. Even the rest of the "clear days ahead" line (though I love it) could easily be replaced with cheaper and just as effective products. But this is now a non-negotiable for me. Seriously, whenever I re-introduce it into my routine, the positive impacts show within days. I love sheet masks, but they have not done much for my skin tone rather just provide an ultra luxe pampered feeling. Due to my past experiences I probably would not have splurged $28 for a pack of five sheet masks but I got the set of Deep Hydration masks with a free gift with purchase one time. I loved them so much I decided it would be worth the money to explore the other option's 100% Pure offers. These sheet masks are wonderful. I love the sheet itself, I feel it covers the majority of my face and does not dry out quickly. It was heavily submerged in the serum so it does feel very thick and watery. I know some people do not like that feeling but I loved it, it added to the relaxation aspect and prevented the mask from drying out as soon as it hit the air. I did not have any problems with it dripping or running down my face. Now, on to the feel of the mask, the Tea Tree oil gives a slight tingly sensation and it smells of tea tree, mint, and herbs. It was not over powering and the tingling went away after 5-10 minutes of wearing the mask. My skin type is combination leaning towards more oily than dry and I do get acne. Most of my acne is hormonal and ranges from blackheads to small cysts. This mask definitely helped diminish redness and soothe the irritated feeling some of the cysts can give me. Since Ive only used it once I can't exactly speak to it's acne fighting properties, but I have high faith that if this was used more frequently in a skincare routine it would provide great results. I’ve only tried sheet masks two other times and they were okay, but this, this sheet mask impressed me! It is drenched in SO much serum, that the mask almost looks translucent on your face! There was so much serum left in the bottom of the package and I didn’t have the heart to throw it away, so I put it in a zip lock bag and used the serum another night. There was more than enough serum to use for two more nights. I didn’t notice a difference with my breakouts so that’s why I knocked off a star, but I’m sure if I used this mask every night, I would definitely notice a difference. Maybe 100% Pure can bottle up the serum and sell that as a new product in addition to the masks? It would be great for those times when you want to put on a mask, but don’t’ have enough time. These Facial Cleansing Towelettes For Oily & Acne Prone Skin have a refreshing grapefruit scent. I like the somewhat thick consistency of the face cloth. They’re durable and don’t tear, so they do a good job at really getting my face clean. They are a good size too, so I can clean my entire face and neck. I like to use these for quick clean ups, as well as removing makeup before doing a full deep cleanse of my face. It leaves my skin feeling clean without any residue. I like that this is targeted for acne prone skin too because I break out and don’t need products that exacerbate that. The towelettes aren’t super saturated, however they have enough moisture in them to get a good clean. The package they come in seals tightly to keep the air out so it helps keep them from drying out. These cloths are really nice. The fragrance isn’t overwhelming and are wet enough to wash both my face and neck. This is super refreshing during these humid Southern summers. The fact that the cloths are made from recycled materials is a bonus as well. I wish that the closure was a little more secure. These are very soft, and nice smelling towlettes. I happen to love citrus fragrance and these have a great scent. They also removed ALL of my makeup. They left my face looking glowy and didn't have the tacky feeling that some towlettes have. They also did not sting my somewhat sensitive skin. I was a little afraid to use them on my eyes as I have an eyelid condition called Blepharaitis but they have natural ingredients and did not even bother my eyelids. My skin felt clean and I definitely did not need to use any facial cleanser after I used them. A definite bonus that they are also made of repurposed cotton fibers. This is the most amazing product I have ever used to treat my acne! I've suffered from acne my whole life, but in just the past two years my face has been plagued with cystic acne on my neck, jawline and lower cheeks. I have tried everything over-the-counter; been to the dermatologist and been prescribed topical creams and antibiotics to take ******. Nothing has worked! I was about to give up and just go on Accutane. But because the possible side effects of Accutane scare me half to death, I decided to surf the interenet one last time. I put on a thin layer of the clay mask and left it on for 3 hrs (unintentional, I feel asleep). The mask is tight when it dries but was not irritating or bothersome. I feel asleep with it on no problem. When I woke up to wash it off my face had completely calmed down (was no longer inflammed) and every single pimple had reduced in size! I applied a little BP and when I woke up the following morning all my acne was gone except for a few cystic pimples! I am in amazement! I will continue to use this product and see if the results are long term, but so far this has been a God-send! I am writing this review because as someone who has struggled with acne and the embarrassment it brings, I believe everyone should be given the opportunity to know what really works and what doesn't. I've been struggling with deep, painful cystic acne, which is sometimes hormonal, for about 2 years now. I have spent hundreds of dollars on trying new products to make me feel better about my skin. I've never had a product clear my skin as fast as this & I never leave reviews but I felt like I had to! I paired this 3 step routine with a drunk elephant sampler that included the Lala retro moisturizer and the glycolic night serum and I'm amazed. This is the first time in years that I've felt okay going out without foundation or concealer on & I've only been using this for a week. I hope it continues working this well forever (knock on wood!) I would recommend this to anyone with oily acne prone skin!!Hannah
I read EVERY oily/combination sensitive skin review I could possibly come across and was STILL nervous about purchasing this product until I finally bit the bullet and did it. I'm SO HAPPY I took a chance and now I'm hooked on this product line and can't decide what I want to try next. It wasn't by any means a fast acting product line for my sensitive skin that breaks out if you look at it the wrong way. YES, she's THAT TYPE and if I'm stressed about something, it's written ALL OVER my face, I don't have to say a word! As a matter of fact, she's itching right now because she KNOWS I'm talking about her and it's just sad. I digress. Okay, I'm back. I love the face wash because it feels like a cool cucumber and the toner feels clean and very refreshing as well. I know I'm probably over using them but I love these products and look forward to my skin care regimen throughout my day, and the best part is they have no smells! I use them in addition to The Ordinary's Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA, The Ordinary's AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (twice a week, the AHA, BHA) and Cerave's Resurfacing Retinol Serum (every night) for now because I'm not going to waste my products and I was very eager to try La Roche Posay because of their reputation within the skin care industry. I developed Milia on my eyelid and was searching for ways to get rid of it when I happened upon this line of products. My skin has improved within the two week timeframe they stated it would, and that's a plus for me (no solution found to get rid of this Milia yet short of going to the dermatologist). I just ordered plenty more of their products so I'll follow their directions and hope to see good results just as I've obtained with these, if not better because I'll transition fully over to their entire line of products to see how they all work together. Right now my skin is glowing. Just a few more acne to get rid of and some hyperpigmentation.LadydiamondT
I bought this product because my face started to break out very badly. I used to use bare minerals, but did not want to spend the price on it so I switched to another laroche posay product. I am not sure if the product did not agree with my skin or of my skin did not agree with the product especially with it being new, but my skin became very inflamed with acne. I then bought this kit specifically for my breakout and after 4 days of use my face is getting back to normal! I use the cleanser twice a day and was using the toner and serum just at night, but my skin became dry in a few areas even with lotion. I am still using the cleanser twice a day and I am using the toner every other day. I am currently using the serum as a spot treatment. I am very pleased with this product and will continue to use and update as my journey continues!MirandaC
