I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. The plates glide smoothly over my hair with no pulling/tugging. I don't feel heat on my scalp yet I can straighten the roots of my hair. The auto heat setting of 370 degrees is ideal for my hair type. Results look like the salon results I get at the salon. In my opinion, it is critical to use a good quality heat protectant. That extra quarter inch makes a difference for longer hair. The heat is consistent. Love the digital settings. I use medium prefixed setting and within a minute it is fully heated. You'll only need one pass through to get smooth results. There is no tugging or pulling the hair. You can get close to the roots easily. I run the iron all the way down except the last inch to protect my ends. Also, the plates are positioned just right so that you never burn your scalp. My older original Chi still works but I noticed my hair just wasn’t getting as straight as it used to so I purchased this one and it works soooo good! This is not a tourmaline flat iron. The product pictured and received is a ceramic, not ceramic tourmaline. I specifically wanted the one with tourmaline. But I’m keeping it because I did a bit more research on basic ceramic vs tourmaline. But this product being offered is not as described. The description also mentions “Chi Air” which this is not. I have found my new GHD white hair straightener to be a great product it straightens my hair leaving it looking glossy, straight and healthy. I have used it also to put waves in my hair following the tutorials on the GHD website, I didn't know that it was possible to create waves and curles with straighteners but because this product has a rounded barrel it worked well for creating waves. I purchased this GHD Platinum styler that was recommended by my hair stylist & I wish I would have done more research on my own first and read more reviews before spending so much money on this flat iron. I am sadly disappointed in this straighter as you can't adjust the heat setting and the temperature "adjusts to your hair." My hair is very fine, thin and curly and I am not impressed. It does not leave my hair straight compared to a less expensive straightener & sadly the straightener's plates catch my hair and pulls my hair out & gets stuck in the plates. The straightener has damaged my ends and pulls out hair constantly. The plus and cord are long and heavy and clunky. Not to mention, the sound when you turn on the straighter is so loud and you can't mute the sound or sound level. If I could give this product a zero rating, I would. It doesn't work for me who has super fined thin hair & it's not worth the cost to ruin my hair. I would defiantly not recommend this hair straightener to others.Lionpsu

Bought as a gift in 2017. It worked well on thick, wavy, long hair. I bought it because I needed to find a straightener that could handle a lot of hair at once while not being awkward and bulky. I used to own a Hot Tools flat iron, but once I received this flat iron for Christmas a few years ago, the Hot Tools one was promptly donated. The best part of this flat iron is how securely it clamps onto my hair. I don't need an iron grip in order to get good tension; the flat iron does it on its own. It also heats up extremely quickly – if I spray heat protectant on my hair and then immediately turn on the flat iron, the heat protectant will not be dry before the flat iron comes to temp. I also love the multiple temperature settings. I have loosely wavy hair that holds heat styling well, and I always have the temperature set to 365° F. My sister has curly hair, so when I'm doing her hair, we either keep the temperature at 365° or increase it one setting (to around 400°) depending on the day. I also love the aesthetics of this flat iron and of Kristin Ess' entire line of tools. The soft touch is nice and grippy, and it's never slipped out of my hand. I've owned this flat iron for years, and even though I don't straighten my hair every day, I've never had an issue with anything rubbing off. This is the first, and probably only, flat iron I would recommend to anyone asking for it.Katie
I used this flat iron about once a week and loved it. The temperature heats very quickly but the downside is that it shuts off after 30 minutes. I have really long thick hair and it takes me about one hour to straighten all of it. So it’s a bit of an inconvenience shutting off after 30 minutes. I was really disappointed that after having it for only a few months, it began malfunctioning, saying “error” on the display and turning off every 10 minutes.
I have the nanoblack 3-in-one flat iron (couldn’t find it in Influenster) the full size, not the mini. It has a 9ft cord that moves with the iron (like if you’re doing curls) it’s not fixed to it, this is helpful if you’re like me have hair past your butt + it helps keep your cord from getting twisted. This iron is beautiful, it has a very soft silky feel to it is super sleek looking. It’s fairly light weight comfortable to hold. My hand wrist don’t get tired half way through doing my hair. It doesn’t have a lock on it to keep it closed but it does come with a cap you can slide over the end which keeps it closed, the instructions sheet says the cap is heat proof but I don’t quite trust that it is so I leave the iron in my sink until it cools down before putting the cap on (which fits quite snugly) hanging it up. As far as heat up time WOW this thing heats up FAST! It took less than 30 seconds for it to get up to temp! The sides are rounded so you can easily do curls without getting crease lines in them, although I haven’t quite mastered the technique of curling with a flat iron yet. One thing I was worried about was that hair would snag but after using it a few times that’s no longer a concern. My hair slides through it like silk. It has ceramic plates which are great for those of us who tend to get static hair after using hot tools (ugh the worst) It has a few different heat settings. I did have to look up how to do that since there’s no dial or specific button for that but it was easy to do. Just keep clicking the power button quickly until it’s the temp you want. When you plug it in you have to hit the power button, it doesn’t just start heating up on its own like other irons I’ve owned in the past. With all that being said I definitely do recommend this iron if you’re in the market for a new one. It came in a really nice heavyweight cardboard box with a magnetic flap, I’m sure most will throw it away but if you’re like me keep the boxes to repurpose or so your tools are more protected during travel this is a good box that won’t be crushed or damaged easily.krystal .d

I absolutely love my new flat iron that also allows for the ease of doing my hair while it’s wet. What a time saver it has been for me going to Nursing school & Work! The quality is excellent. It has air holes allowing it to vent and express steam and dry your hair while it is wet or damp. I set it at 300 temperature and it takes 10 seconds to heat up so it’s ready to start straightening right away. However it does take a bit for it to cool down. The iron is a great size for those of us that small irons aren’t enough. You can take a whole big section and it flattens easily and looks great. So bigger sections also allow for getting done a lot quicker. No need to take small sections to get a great look. I love the 360 swivel of the cord that keeps it from getting tangled so easily and creating a short life for the iron. You can use both hands without constantly trying to move the cord out of the way. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great innovative flat iron that’s efficient, great design and creates great styles. This was the first flat iron I ever got. Thank God I have upgraded to a better one. I couldn't stand dealing with this one. Then again my hair is super curly. I am mixed (black and white) so I have very thick long curly hair. I'm not sure how this straightener would've worked on a different hair type, but I know that I eventually resorted to just using it to straighten my bangs. Effectiveness It worked OKAY. I usually had to straighten the smallest sections of hair in order to get it straightened properly. I also had to straighten over the same small pieces of hair a few times to get it straight. There are different heat settings. I usually set mine to the highest because that's what my hair needed. Make sure you do clean it from time to time because that will effect the iron's ability to straighten the way it should. Durability This flat iron is cheaply made. SO BE CAREFUL WITH IT. It's cheap plastic outside and easily susceptible to cracking. I'm pretty sure one of the ceramic pieces even started to come off the flat iron. You get what you pay for.yalaska
I have always used a curling iron even when the flat iron become the new thing. I already have straight hair but it lacks body and volume. The Conair Ultra Slim looked like a experimental flat iron since it's very affordable. I like the curve to the handle, this feature makes it easy to use and feels comfortable the whole time. I figure a slim flat iron would be a better fit for my hair, it's not thick, but it's not thin either. It took me so long to section off each part if my hair and go over it with this Ultra Slim Flat Iron! I used a flat iron spray to help with the hold, and after it was all said and done my hair looked straight but laid flat on my head. I've learned new techniques since purchasing this flat iron and see where this one can help with getting close enough to the roots to add volume. The settings go up to 25, so there's a range of heat to use, it also heats up fast in under a minute. Since it took me so long to go over my entire head of hair I will now use this one as a touch up flat iron or a back up while I travel. This Revlon Essentials Fast Results Ceramic 1.5 inch Flat Iron heats up fast. I like the wide 1 1/2 inch coated ceramic plates. Hair glides smoothly through the flat iron. My hair is just above the shoulder and is frizzy and wavy, not curly. I was able to get a smooth look. My other flat iron has 1 inch plates but this one is quicker to use. The biggest con for this flat iron is that the heat dial is hard to read and its numbered 1 to 30 in 5 increments. I wish it had temperatures not numbers and a digital temperature display. The instructions do not tell you what the temperature of each number represents. I assume 400 degrees is 30, but I like to flat iron at 340, so I am not sure where to set the dial. I burned my finger upon initial use as I was trying to read the tiny numbers on the dial. The flat iron heated so quickly that before I knew it my finger hit the side of the ceramic plate as I was trying to see the dial. The on off switch is easy to use and illuminates a red light when on. This flat iron turns off automatically after an hour, which is nice in case you forget. I do which it locked closed when off. A fair rating would be 3.5 stars. The flat iron works, its not fancy, I like the wide plates, for the price its ok, but I prefer knowing the exact temperature I am heating my hair at while flat ironing.gk5040

The on/off switch and heat setting dial are tucked away so that your fingers don't accidentally bump into the controls like with some flat irons.A red light indicator lets you know that there is power to it and it's working. The ceramic plates did an okay job at straightening my naturally curly hair but I did have to make a couple of passes on some sections. Cons: Not sure if the auto shut off works. I had been wanting to get a straighter at a good price and I found this one which was about $20. Overall I really liked this straightener. My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. The straightener heats up fast so that’s a plus. It would have been helpful for the display to light up so I could see the temperature but it’s not a huge problem for me. I was a bit skeptical purchasing this because of the price.. Most cheap flat irons don't work at all! But with the rating and positive reviews I figured why not, its not like I'm investing that much money into it.. And after using it one time I am VERY HAPPY that I purchased this flat iron!! It works great and even tho it got a bit to hot it works great for my hair! It doesn't have a light up screen so its a bit difficult to see the temperature if you have bad vision but for this price still not mad lol. Thank you for an affordable hair straightener!! Not Purple as shown, Product description (photo) is incorrect. I bought this in the past, but they must have changed the straightener but not updated the description. The straightener I received is not purple, but black with purple plates. Same goes for the purple blow dryer by Remington sold here on Walmart (shows purple but is all black with purple accents). They both work well, but clearly it's not fair to order something in one color and not get what you ordered.Melissa

My is my absolute favorite straightener. And I have quite a few (don't judge me 😫 ) and 3 of them have been a chi. I actually got my first one when I was in hair school and it was a pretty basic iron (back then they didnt have the same technology as they have today) and from there I upgraded. They have lasted me FOREVER! This new one came with a warantee and everything which when something is guarenteed I appreciate that as a customer. I'm much more likely to spend a good amount of money if it's a product that the company is so confident in that they can back it up. Anyway it has all the features you would look for in a styling tool. Safety, temp control, shut off feature, you can put it on a stand so it's safe to set down, it came with a cute little case for either travel or as a dust protector. I'm not sure if they all did, but this one that I purchased off the website did. And there are different discounts for people in school or sale or coupons for new or returning customers. The length of time they have ALL lasted is deff worth paying the extra money to have the quality and guarentee that you're getting a great tool that you will use on a daily basis.jollean.s
I have pretty thick, somewhat wavy hair. Even though my hair isn't very wavy it's very difficult to actually straighten. The most id ever spent on a straightener before this was $20, and you could tell. I'd go over and over my hair with my revlon trying to get it flat and not to mention the plastic catching on my hair and ripping it But this has changed my life in just the 24 hours I've had it!! I am totally impressed by this flat iron. I have always loved CHI straighteners but this is a whole new level of amazing. I have long thick wavy hair and I set the heat to 360 degrees since I read 400 or above can really damage your hair. It heated up to 360 in about 30 sec and was ready to use. The plates are smoother than my other CHI and just glide through my hair. I was done in about 2-3 minutes and my hair has never looked so shiny!! I've always used heat protection spray but the shine was all from this straightener. My hair feels so soft and healthy. I also love the auto shut off feature and it's the main reason I bought this one in the first place because I forget if I unplugged my straightener or not. Only downside to this is the plug doesn't have surge protection on it, so don't straighten your hair while barefoot on a wet floor or around water. Thankfully my husband installed outlets in our bathroom that have the surge protection buttons on them. Just something to be aware of. Otherwise, this hair tool is a no brainer. I've owned my straightener for a couple years and it still works as well as when I bought it. The plates are smooth and don't break my hair off. It heats up quickly and has an automatic shut off for safety. It has several heat settings. I can work with fairly large hair sections and it comes out straight with one pass. It is skinny enough that you can get to your hairline easily. This has definitely been worth the price.amber.g
I was disappointed with this item. This brand and product was the first flat iron I owned, after the first one broke several years after, I was gifted another brand that after several years broke as well. I decided to go back to CHI, but the temperature didn’t seem very high and I had to repeat ironing the same area several times. I don’t remember this happening with the first one I owned. Granted, I have coarse, thick wavy hair, but it was taking me a long time to do my hair. I have thick, wavy coarse hair that turns into a ball of frizz at the mention of humidity. All the product in the world can’t tame this wild beast. I read tons of reviews and did my research and decided this little gem would “hopefully” give me the most bang for my buck. It didn’t disappoint. Chi’s “advanced ceramic plate technology” leaves my hair soft, shiny and straight as stick when I want and with beautiful curls when I want to look glamorous. In the past, creating curls with could be a challenge. Ergonomically it was so much easier for me to maneuver and master straight iron curls. Purchased this model of babybliss because my stylist uses this brand in June 2020. As of January 4, 2021 the item randomly shuts off in the middle of usage. I tried to use different outlets and the issue still happened . My hair always comes out nice and pressed however even at low setting it still smells burnt . Thankfully I always use a heat protector. I called the Ulta Beauty I purchased from was advised to bring in the item to exchange and the old item be marked "Defective" . Drove 45mins only to be advised that the return could not be made in store due to " Covid return policy after 90 days". Contacted Ulta help desk as advised by the associate to get the correct return advice , only to be put on hold and hung up on. **** PLEASE don't think twice. I never write reviews and I created an account just to leave one! 1st let me say I'm mixed. GERMAN and Jamaican. So I have very curly hair. Not coarse though. Very soft curls. However living in FL and trying to combat frizz is an everyday battle. I used my friends baby bliss titanium over the weekend after boating in the ocean and my Royale (mall kiosk) straightener quit working after only 6 months! DONT BUY Royale! I tried to find her exact baby bliss(it was black) but this was titanium and seemed the same. I THINK IT EVEN WORKS BETTER! 🙂 let me tell you. I did my whole head in 10 mins. The super wide plates(1.5") definitely help for faster results. I only needed one pass through my sections of hair. It didn't snag at all! Also I used to have up to high heat (450) this i used on 35 and it worked just fine. I would suggest using a leading comb for easy results(the one good thing from royale) I can't speak to the damaging effects because I haven't had it long enough. HOWEVER, I'm super impressed thus far! Well worth the money and you can use the 20% coupon. Don't think twice i wish i could include pics. Let me just tell you, if you go to @jackielikeskillersmiles on IG all of my pictures of late will have fabulous hair because of this. Also my hair has definitely won the fight with humility in the past 3 rainy humid days. But that may also be bc of the new shampoo and conditioner I found to use also! This is my third one! First lasted me over six years, the second one I was on my third year before it got stolen :/ I'm truly shocked to see the bad reviews as I'm concerned they send a bad batch to Ulta. I've always bought mine from the beauty supply store and never had a problem. I will make sure to sign up for the warranty as all these bad reviews concern me. This has been my ride or die straightener for many many years. I bought the GHD platinum after seeing so many good reviews from YouTubers biggest regret. Would straighten my wavy hair. I'm hoping this new BabylissPro is as good as my previous ones.YKZ
