Best Foundation For Blotchy Uneven Skin (2025 Update)

I love this foundation! The formula is amazing! So I will start by saying I received this complimentary from Influenster and the shade would have been the correct color if it had not been me going to CA + getting a tan! So now I would say I am Porcelain/Vanilla 🙂 when I am really dark Ligjt beige these are all the neutral undertones! When this foundation first came out they did not have as many fair shades as they do now which I love because us pale girls in Oregon know the struggle. I will note that the "porcelain" shade is a bit darker than at what you would normally label as porcelain so just a thing to keep in mind 🙂 Here is my run down of this foundation: LOVE: – This foundation creates a peerless appearance for me (I am very oily) and I love how the texture isnt fully exposed – I love the shade range of colors too faced has to offer with this – The coverage is amazing I do tend to have circles under my eyes, redness, and pores and this covers it ALL! (Saya medium coverage but for me it's more full which I love) -Little goes a long way and it doesnt oxidize like crazy or turn super orange -Although its hydrating it IS oily free so I love how I fo t get slick after a few hours! co-stars on wonderfully greatly paired with a peerless primer! The only con I would say about this is perhaps the form of application. I do like how this looks better with a brush than a beauty blender. Bit personal preference I know others who use this with a blender and it's pretty so take that with a grain of salt. I would not consider the foundation as medium full coverage I would consider it as a full coverage. my skin is very acne prone with lots of scarring and combination skin. this with one coat plus maybe a few touch ups provided enough coverage to go with it. it felt very light it wasn't setting heavy on my skin as a lot of the other full coverage foundations do that I have tried. the only complaint I have is possibly the staying power it kind of tended to wipe off around my mouth area but that was like 8 hours of wearing it so that's not really a complaint I would say lol. I found unfortunately, that for my own skin, which is a combination type, I honestly would not put this foundation as my first choice for repurchasing, as I feel that while this product does genuinely live up to its advertised claims regarding moisturizing effects and ingredients, for my skin type, it was actually over-moisturizing were it a product I'd c continue using on a daily or even every other day or so schedule. I cannot say enough good things about this product. This is the best foundation I've ever tried, and I have used everything from clean to luxury to professional. It's true that this foundation really does look like your skin but "even better," it corrects redness and dark spots, and can be built up to offer pretty full coverage. It doesn't have a pump so you can really control how much product you use, and I find myself needing half the amount I would with a different foundation. It's so easy to blend so I apply with my fingers and it still looks amazing. I always reach for this when I want all-day wear or if I just want my skin to look amazing. Great for events, photos, everything. It would really well as a base for your other face makeup and I never feel like I look overdone, and it's also great on its own for a more perfect skin natural look. I do not have rosacea, but I do have redness caused by extremely sensitive skin and acne. I have had no luck with liquid foundations previous to this one, so I am very happy that I tried it I use this foundation over top the dramatically different moisturizing gel and the redness solutions protective base.Before this foundation, I would use loose powdered foundations, but because my skin is oily, the makeup would sometimes cake and make my pores look bigger. This makeup solved all my problemsThis liquid foundation is by far the best makeup Ive ever tried. Not only does it calm redness on contact, but it also reduces oiliness, even throughout the day with no touch ups. As others have pointed out, it does have a yellowish tinge I got the calming alabaster and I have extremely fair skin. However, the yellow tint is what partially covers the redness. Also, if you apply the foundation with a foundation brush, you can get the coverage more even and less thick, which reduces the yellow tone. Once I evenly cover my face, it no longer appears yellow, just even in tone. The foundation is fairly thick, so I really do recommend using a foundation brush rather than just fingers. The brush allows you to more evenly and lightly disperse the product over your face and neck.Additionally, ever since using this product, my acne has cleared up more, and I no longer get itchy, irritated skin during the day like I used to.Overall, this is the best makeup Ive ever tried, and its well worth the money, even if the bottle is fairly small. A few years back now it appears I started to develop rosacea . I have always been told I have beautiful skin and I believe in part this is genetics for sure but also believe a big part of the picture is that I look after my skin with using good skin care products which I started to do from the age of 15. My redness was becoming problematic and unbeknown to me I was actually feeding and aggravating this conditions by using skin care products with oil in them expense skincare products too So I was advised to try Clinique after talking to one of their consultants which I did . Cost me a small fortune as I brought the entire redness range including the foundation. I can honestly say I am 58 yrs of age that this is truly the only product I have ever used and I have used them all over the years bar Clinique that I could actually see the difference it was making. No more redness and people are commenting on how clear and lovely my face is looking. I have also now moved onto as well as still using the redness range some of their other products and as long as I a using nothing with oils in it I am fine. I seriously did not ever believe it was possible to see a difference in your skin from any skin care produce but I can see the difference others can see the difference Just amazing I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone ..in fact I do so every opportunity I get Love it and I will NEVER change from this range. This is my BY FAR FAVORITE foundation. I've come back to review this for the 2nd time now, last time was in November after using for a month to see how I liked it and wanted to see if it would break me out before reviewing, etc. but I've just been unable to find another foundation like this one! To start off, I have really dry, eczema skin.. but if you use a moisturizer and some setting spray on your face before putting this on, you will be fine if your skin is like mine. So, I had run out of this foundation at the beginning of the year, I should've ordered when I was getting low but I was unaware that they don't carry this one in the ulta stores, so I finished off the remainder of this too faced foundation I had (not the same but works good) and that started getting low so I went into my local ulta to see if I could maybe find something similar to it. Nothing similar but a worker recommended a Smashbox matte foundation for me since I have dry skin… and I returned in within 2 days because I just couldn't.. it enlarged my pores and had barely any coverage at all. So I was out of town and went and visited another ulta, hoping I could return that one and find this foundation, they didn't have it either! So I settled with too face again but got a shade too dark. So now I have to return yet again (ulta is about to be sick of me lol) but I'm almost thinking about returning this, and going foundationless for a while until I can order this and have it come in the mail. Too faced is great, don't get me wrong it's definitely my 2nd choice, but nothing seems to compare to this foundation and will always be my favorite. It can withstand heat, humidity and sweat, all while making your face look flawless (not exaggerating). My forever favorite. I have been using Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation for some time now and I cannot fault it. It is the most flawless and long lasting foundation I have ever used and I have used plenty of different other brands. I have rather oily skin and tend to sweat from the head quite easily thanks to having PCOS but this foundation stays put even if I spend the entire evening dancing and getting rather warm, it barely budges unless I rub it off. Best of all, it makes my skin look absolutely flawless and silky smooth. I have found it is best applied with a foundation brush than a beauty blender or your own fingers. The brush seems to distribute it more evenly across the face and blends really well without having to use much product. I do always finish my makeup with a setting powder, I just feels it completes the look. I currently use Laura Mercier translucent loose powder which seems to work so well with this foundation. I haven't yet tried other setting powders with it. If you want a Matte, long lasting and flawless foundation, I highly recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear, it is worth the money.Jemz

Every time there's a perfect makeup, a company has to go and change the ingredients and mess it up. The price went up five more bucks, and this stuff, which used to be my #1, just isn't the same suddenly. It's greasy when it wasn't before. What was perfect for oily/combo skin wears off fast in the oily zone. And if you're someone like me who is working all day long and sweating in your tzone, you definitely don't want it separating on your face or transferring any time you try to dab your face with a paper towel. It also feels sticky like it won't dry after you put it on, and it's really hard to put any kind of powder or setting powder over it when it's so tacky. I used to LOVE the coverage and how long it lasted, but it's different now. And this isn't the kind of stuff you can just touch up. You have to completely redo your whole face or it looks terrible and caked on in splotches! I shouldn't have to keep smoothing it over my skin the whole day just to keep it from settling in every tiny line on my face…I'm 34, I don't even have the kind of aging skin that this tries to make me look like I have lol! Why did they fix something that was never broken?! Nothing good ever lasts, they always try to cheapen it up and charge more. I'm amazed. I went to grab some samples from the mall since summer is approaching and my current sephora foundation will not hold up in the heat,and other foundations break me out. The clinique lady offered me this..I was skeptical bc normally, clinique is not for me..never enjoyed their line much. THIS is different. It goes on lovely, color range nice, 1 layer has great coverage, pore friendly, not cakey and very long wearing!! I even slept it in ( didn't mean to) and next morning most of it was still on and I didn't break out. Granted it's been a day but if it keeps like this, this will be my go to!! my skin breaks out within hours of most foundations but not with this. Im not very particular about foundation as long as it is oil free and fragrance free for my combo aging skin. I like a med coverage that is not too matte and not too dewey. I had high hopes for this, but it just layed on my skin. It never really dried. I did not have a primer or moisturizer underneath that could prevent it from drying. Took forever to blend and it separated and moved on my skin all day. For example if I blew my nose the foundation completely came off. If I put my head on a pillow I had a big splotch of foundation rubbed off my forehead. Secondly I purchased the color Buff which is usually my universal shade in any brand and let me tell you it is straight up big bird yellow. Hoping I can return and go back to my Superbalanced. To provide context for this review, I have combination skin; pretty normal with a moderate amount of sensitivity. This felt nice on the skin and blended pretty well. I got a good match for my skin tone and it did not oxidize too much. However, after just 1 hour. my skin looked oily and there was substantial breakthrough in the Tzone. I don't have many wrinkles, but this foundation accentuated the few that I do have, so it was not flattering on me. It is also not as transfer proof as I would like. This foundation may do better on me in the winter (first time I tried it was at the end of summer, in a moderate, dry climate). Based on my experience, I would think this foundation would be a good choice for people with dry skin. I found that it photographed well, provided the pictures were taken within the first couple of hours after application. Overall, I was disappointed with the performance of this foundation. This is a very good and affordable foundation. I have this foundation in “Light Ivory”. The undertone of this foundation is slightly yellow, but after applying concealer and the rest of my base, the shade looks fine. (Since I purchased this foundation, the shade range has been expanded.) I find that this foundation has a medium amount of coverage that can be built up to increase coverage or sheered out if desired. Although this oil-free foundation claims to have a semi-matte finish, I find it has a radiant/ glowy finish. I have dry skin, so I like the finish of this foundation. After wearing this foundation for a few hours, my skin can get oily and require blotting/powdering. I recommend setting this foundation with powder. If you like a foundation that has a dewy or glowy finish, you may really like this foundation. This product is very affordable, although the bottle only contains 20ml of foundation. (The standard amount is 30ml.) I will continue to use this foundation and I will try different primers and powders to see if I can improve the appearance and wear of this foundation. Overall I like this product. It gives me pretty good coverage, not full coverage but it is buildable. I don't like the scent, it smells very fragranced and I enjoy fragrance-less products more. It's also a little drying on it's own and I have normal/combination skin. I HAVE to use lots of skin prep and moisturizers before putting it on, and overall I enjoy more moisturizing, glowy bases instead of matte looks, so this is a great product for people with oily skin/people who love matte, but not for me. I decided to try this foundation again recently after running out of it a few years ago. I clearly just forgot how good it was. The foundation looks beautiful on the skin and you can keep layering and building the coverage up without it looking cakey or bringing out the texture of your skin. If anything it looks smoother the more you put on. I really like the shade range this foundation has as it seems to cater to a lot of different undertones. The shade is perfect for me. The perfect shade for people on the paler side. After setting with a finishing powder, my acne prone skin looked almost airbrushed and it lasted great throughout the day even without a primer. I personally like the smell, I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s not overpowering and it did not irritate my skin. The foundation didn’t seem to cause any acne. I have been using this same foundation for years with no issues. Within the past 6 months, however, it has been really watered down? The makeup will squirt out mostly water with splotches of makeup in it… it reminds me of oil and water the way it separates. I've shaken it up really good and even pulled the cap off and mixed it and it doesn't help. I wish they'd fix this issue, because i really loved this makeup!! I still use it. Not every bottle does this, but the ones that do are messy and a waste of money. I love this makeup but gave it one star so the issue with some of the bottles are made more aware. Hopefully this issue gets addressed. I will note that I've called customer service about this and they are VERY HELPFUL and refunded my money for the like fourth batch i received.Ledawna

This was a sample given to me.#freesample I put on 2 layers for full coverage. I love that it's a pump so no cross contamination, straight from pump to my sponge applicator. The coverage is nice and silky blendable, and buildable. I didn't have to use but a tiny amount of concealer I noticed especially under my eyes. It contains pro-retinol A+ and vitamin c supposed to be for anti aging. Iv only used it this once so I'll post back next week to see if there's any results there🤷 otherwise this has became one of my top 3 favorite foundations. The foundation has a creamy consistency, quite similar to the Double Wear from Estée Lauder although its finish is completely different. The packaging doesn't come with a pump and honestly I thought that that was a plus, because I like to apply very small amount on each layer and I'm not sure I would be able to control the amount that we'll with a pump. The smell of the foundation is quite funny. It smells almost like paint. The smell goes away after the foundation is set. The coverage of this foundation is medium to full, but you can easily make it into a sheer coverage as well. It all depends on how much you apply and how many layers. I have lots of blemishes and some texture/enlarged pores and I find this foundation to not accentuate any of it. It blends well on the skin and gives me a really beautiful natural matte finish. It doesn't transfer after it dries. I like to pair it with the Strobe Cream in Pinklite and the finish gets slightly more luminous and natural but not greasy. I apply one very thin layer of the foundation with a brush and then I reapply it only on my problem areas where I have more hyperpigmentation and it covers everything without looking heavy. I have to mention that this foundation looks beautiful in person but even better on pictures/videos. I love this foundation and I highly recommend it! It's one of my go to foundation of the moment. I've always used drugstore brand powders as I have always had a fairly even complexion and despised how cakes and gross liquid foundation is. But now at 36 I'm noticing powders tend to settle more into fine lines and make my face look drier than it needs to. This foundation leaves my face feeling so light, but moisturized and really helps to minimize the smaller stuff that was aging me with the powders I was using. I picked color N40 and it blends perfectly with my skin tone. I tried it on when I got out to the car and my husband was like "Wow! It looks just like your skin, but I don't like that it covers up all of your little freckles." LoL. The coverage is definitely buildable. It doesn't take much if you just want a light coat and a very natural look, so the cost difference isn't quite as bad as I thought it was going to be. This one is definitely a keeperAshley

I've probably tried every foundation Sephora and Mac has to offer and this is the one I always come back to. I really don't understand the other low ratings… 1. This foundation is the only one I'd use without a primer or setting powder. It doesn't need it, and I like that it's optional. I feel like other brands rely so heavily on setting foundations with other products to get you to buy more stuff. This (and Mac pro longwear concealer) is like professional-grade makeup. Tried and true. 2. On my wedding day, my MUA and I planned to use either EL double wear or too faced born this way, depending on how my skin was feeling. The day came and both products were emphasizing all my texture and/or sliding off my face. I literally ran to my room and found my old bottle of Studio Fix and wore it. Best decision ever. Did not budge and lasted all day. Full coverage yet natural. 3. This covers scars. I can spot conceal with this foundation and it blends into my skin so well. I also buy a lighter shade as concealer in the summer. 4. It's not finicky. Again, you don't need to (but can) use primers and setting powders. It works with most other products (except for silicone-based primers which makes it dry out and oxidize and can separate). I don't know why I ever stop using it but i always have a bottle. I guess when you find the perfect formula, you get bored and try what's trending. Love it.Rafena

I prefer the serum over this foundation, but for the sake of the review I will speak to this particular product. I love that it's buildable. I love the shade for my skin. I love that it has hyaluronic acid. I personally DONT prefer a pump applicator, I liked the dropper style as a way to apply directly to my face. With the pump style I HAVE to use a beauty blender or some other applicator and I don't want to always have to do that. Otherwise I'm happy with it, I will be purchasing from this line in the future- I would probably just lean towards the tinted serum.MamaRoar

If you used to use no7 custom blend foundation in Calico this one is a good match in porcelain. I blend this with collection lasting perfection glow foundation to get it to be slightly thicker (1 part glow foundation to 3 parts true match). I have oily, blemished skin with large pores and I doesn't make blemishes or pores look worse. I use body shop seaweed oil control gel and then Estée Lauder the smoother primer underneath as it does need something to help it set if you have oily skin, but with these underneath it works a treat. I wear glasses and it does leave nose marks but I find I can just blend these in with my finger or a sponge and it's like normal again. If you don't mind a slight bit of touching up (I prefer that, it looks natural rather than make up you have to take off every time you get a slight mark in it) then this is a good one.Gingerpop42

I originally purchased shade 270 and it pulled way too peachy on me, after researching shades I tried 300 and it’s perfect. My favorite way to apply it is by mixing a pump of the foundation, a pump of the saie glowy gel, a swirl of Danessa Myricks Universal blurring balm and my moisturizer of choice. I mix until it’s well blended and apply with my fingers starting at the center of my face and working outwards. My other products layer beautifully over this foundation and the whole look wears well through the day even though I have very oily skin. Powder is optional as the blurring balm does a good job of minimizing any oil. I can easily wear this foundation for 10 plus hours and it still looks good, I’ve fallen asleep in it and haven’t broken out. Some of my other foundation matches include Chantecaille future skin shea, Nars Light reflecting foundation Sahel, Onesize blurring balm in medium dark 1, Pat McGrath 10, Armani luminous silk 7.8. The only con for me is how much my skin tone changes through out the seasons and having to buy new shades to match me. It would be great if she came out with shade adjusters to keep the undertone but deepen or lighten your shade as needed.megan86

TL;DR: Might not be ideal for oily skin or if you’re wanting fuller coverage. Works great as a mixer though to adjust shades or make a full coverage foundation more lightweight. I have loved Lady Gaga from day 1 so I had to pickup her foundation. Currently I’m undecided on if I like it but for specific reasons that won’t apply to everyone. I have very oily skin and large pores, because of this I have a hard time finding foundation that works. “Radiant” or even “natural” finish often means it way too shiny for my oily skin. This foundation is supposed to give a natural skin finish so immediate hesitation, but it’s Gaga so I caved. I had no idea what shade to get because the color wheel in the site shows “neutral” shades that look pretty damn pink and yellow. Why is it so hard for companies to have true neutral shades?!? I used the shade finder tool on the website and was recommended 070 Neutral so that’s the shade I ordered. This shade is supposed to be fair with neutral peach undertones. I added a pic of my 2 holy grail foundations (Fenty and Doublewear) and another one I just picked up (beautyblender). All of these foundations are supposed to be “neutral”. Fenty is the closest true neutral that I’ve found. It’s my all time favorite ride or die. Doublewear is probably the closest shade match but polar opposite formula. My fingers did seem to give the best application but that’s my preference so someone who is used to using a brush/sponge might like those more. This foundation is definitely light to medium coverage and can’t be built up further than that. Without the powder it’s much too dewy for me but I think the powder does a decent job of drying it down a bit. I wore it by itself around the house and it seemed alright but then I wore it mixed with beautyblender liquid whip which is a bit yellow on me. Shortly after I received this to try one of my friends started raving about it being the GOAT foundation. I’d been so excited to receive it to try with all of the wonderful skincare claims and her loving it made me even more excited. The packaging is heavy & luxurious feeling. The product itself is very runny/liquid and lightweight on the skin. There’s no strange smell or anything like some cosmetics can have. I’ve been trying it almost daily for over a month & I’ve tried applying it quite a few ways: with the haus labs brush (a “no” for me), directly on a damp real techniques sponge (this is how I apply most of my foundations but with this one it eats a LOT of product & doesn’t give me the coverage I’m looking for), and finally with my fingers & then the sponge (this allows me to use much less product and still get the nice sponge finish at the end). On the sponge this takes at least 3 pumps, directly onto the skin more like 1 or 1.5 & it actually gives better coverage. It applies much better over my unseen sunscreen which is almost like a primer. If I use a more creamy/greasy spf this will NOT stay on my face. It just doesn’t sink in/set & slips all over the place. Touch your face or put sunglasses on? Forget about it. I’ve also been using the powder with a large fluffy brush or a sponge. The sponge works better but is not how I’m used to, my other powders tend to make this foundation last longer. Overall, my shade was slightly off (it’s “cool” but seemed very yellow leaning) and this just doesn’t give the coverage and long lasting power I’m looking for. I have combo skin with bumps, some blemishes, & fine lines. If you have already beautiful skin (on the dry side) and are looking for a light coverage with skincare benefits, this might be your “greatest of all time” foundation like it has been for my friend. I’m now well into my 30’s and have been looking for something like my favorite high school foundation. Yes, I’m Serious! I have fair, combination dry skin, I burn easily, and I use tretinoin and sunscreen everyday, so my skin is already pretty even and clear sans normal hormonal redness around the nose and mouth, but sometimes I can appear “flat” or dull. With that in mind, I’m a big baby about what I put on my face. I have been looking for a foundation that feels lightweight, doesn’t dry me out, and looks radiant, because my major everyday makeup goal is a great complexion, a nude lip, and a bold lash, but with a touch of that CT romantic glam magic. I recently moved across the US and packed most of my makeup and skincare, as well as belongings in a moving truck and only took a few staples for the road, so I don’t have a lot to work with in terms of finding the right combination of products. Unfortunately, what did arrive was all destroyed, so I can’t test it with other sunscreens or primers, products, etc. I was worried at first about pilling or patchiness, but I gave myself a little pep talk and took this opportunity to look on the bright side and try new things and I’m so glad I did! I got a (wonderfully sized) sample at Sephora, in 1N and 3N from the lovely Arielle in the Dallas Galleria location. I have neutral to cool undertones (I’m so pale you can see my veins in most places). The 1N is PERFECT! I’ve never had such a great match. It lasts all day, it’s luminous, it didn’t oxidize or yellow, making me look ill. I set it with the fair CT powder travel size from my travel bag, then mini airbrush finishing spray, and it wears all day like a dream. No creasing, flaking, caking or breakdown. I just look put together! (And I live in DALLAS now!) Yesterday, I returned to Sephora and purchased the full size, as well as the hyaluron kiss in crystal kiss which is also, AMAZING! This is going to be a HG product for me, I know it, and I’m so excited to work hard and rebuild my collection. If you’re having doubts, TRY IT. Ok, let’s cut straight to the chase – this really is as good as everyone’s saying! I’ve never got on well with CT foundations before but this is in another league, and IMO much more suited to my very dry skin. I love that it doesn’t have fragrance in it – this is really important to me as I have really sensitive skin and fragrance usually further sensitises it. This hasn’t given me any adverse effects at all irritation-wise. The finish is extremely skin like, but more a better version of your own skin, with some luminosity but less dewy than Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue. I would say it also has slightly less coverage (on the lighter end of medium), so it won’t make you look completely flawless but I’m ok with that as I can add coverage in areas I need with concealer. It doesn’t settle into my 11’s at all, which has only ever happened with 2 other foundations – La Mer Soft Radiant and Chantecaille Future Skin. I’m kind of blown away so far! So happy that I’ve found this and I’ll now be decluttering a lot of my old foundations as this has instantly gone to my number 1 spot as Holy Grail for an everyday, polished but natural finish! For colour reference I am Vanilla in Hourglass, Cool Sand in Bobbi Brown, Ivory in La Mer, Yukon in Nars, B20 in Chanel and Vanilla in Chantecaille. Shade 3 Cool is a good match for me here and I think 2 Neutral would also work.DDAK

I was really excited when I discovered that this new foundation is more of a gel type foundation. I really loved the Touche Eclat Foundation from YSL, but couldn't wear it because it has chemical sunscreen and tons of fragrance. This one is not illuminating like that product, but it has better coverage and I find it to be non-irritating on my sensitive, dehydrated skin. The best thing is that it really deeply hydrates my dehydrated skin over the time I am wearing it, and when I wash my face, my skin is very soft and plump. I tend to get oily from dehydration, so this actually does a good job of preventing that from happening. I have had no issues with clogged pores or breakouts or anything with this foundation either. It's more of a light-medium coverage and goes really perfectly with CT's Magic Away concealer, as well as the hollywood flawless filter and the highlighters/blushes/contour in tubes that CT sells. Probably because they all have a gel type base to them, but they really do work PERFECTLY together. I put her pressed powder on top of this to lock it in and that works really well. I don't have any issues with it gathering in my pores that I have had with her other foundations. This is by far her best one. This is my all time favorite foundation. My skin is not flawless and this foundation does such a nice job of covering up and making me feel confident. Also, it does not make me breakout :). To make it go further and so that it’s not too thick I put a dab of it on my fingertips along with a pump of oil free lotion. I mix together and then apply to my face. Works great and I truly have been complimented on how nice my skin looks when I’m wearing this!Lelly

I have used this foundation for about a year now. I tried going back to my other foundation and always come back to this. It is light feeling and goes on very well. First off, the formula of this product is unlike any powder I’ve tried before. I heard from one of the founders that this product actually starts as a liquid and is dehydrated through a propriety process. As a result of the dehydration process, the powder is very silky and creamy and has a beautiful slip to it, even though it’s a powder. I initially bought it in the shade medium due to it’s description and I checked with Wander customer service just to make sure this is indeed my shade. I received the product in the mail and tried it on and I was so impressed with the formula and the beautiful coverage and staying power it as. I set the powder with MAC’s fix plus and it’s definitely a winning combination! Flawless, poreless, silky coverage BUT I had a problem. The description of the color was really off. It says that it’s made for medium skin tones with warm subtle olive undertones and I don’t think that’s accurate. For reference, I’m NC35 in MAC, 3W1 in Estée Lauder, 290 in Fenty foundation. All of those shades definitely have olive/yellow in them, but this, in my opinion, does not. It appears really more of a pinkish undertone against my yellow/olive skin. I returned the product because despite its amazing formula, you can see it on my skin because the shade wasn’t accurate at all. It’s pinkish undertone really stood out and after the foundation was on and melted into the skin, albeit beautifully, the undertone is clearly not warm or subtle olive at all. I’m afraid that their next two colors aren’t going to match me and don’t want to be wasteful and order them, just to then return it. Please, please, please, Wander Beauty, double check your color descriptions And expand the line of colors. Fenty set the standard to 42 colors and I believe that’s not only trend-setting but thoughtful and inclusive. This is absolutely a WINNING formula, but the lack of shades is disappointing.sam1am

I’m 40 and have obnoxious combo skin: dry in some patches and oily in others. I have been struggling to find a foundation that isn’t cake batter, isn’t high maintenance, isn’t scaly, and doesn’t sit in my fine lines and make me look ancient, and I’ve spent a TON of money trying a billion kinds in my search. I was wary about a powder bc I’d left loose powder behind when my skin started aging and realized it made me look worse, and powder tends to cling to my dry parts and highlight them. This stuff does an amazing job of evening out my skin tone and still looking like skin – I actually prefer my skin with this on. One star docked bc it isn’t a true holy grail. I’ve found that it works better without primer (I’ve never actually found a primer I truly liked though, tbh), after a few hours it does start to find my fine lines, and if I’m not properly moisturized or am having a skin issue, it will cling a little bit to the dry parts. But there are definitely foundations out there (and really expensive ones, too!) that accentuate lines and dry parts way worse, and make my pores look like craters or slide all over the place. Matte, stunning, beautiful coverage that *stays* on your face and doesnt budge when set with powder and spray. Ive used with blender and brush-prefer the brush. Hasnt broke me out. Doesnt oxidize. I use with the Essence Banana Powder or the Wet n Wild Banana. I use shade "fair beige", it isnt listed as an option on influenster though. This is one of my favorite foundations! I have pretty bad acne scars and foundations/concealer that can actually cover my problem spots are really hard to find. Catrice works very well. The bottle itself is nice, had an eyedropper top which makes getting the product out super easy. I put it on the back of my hand before blending onto my face. The foundation has an interesting scent, almost baby powder or luvs diaper type scent. Not unpleasant. Foundation blends well and a little goes a long way. Medium to full coverage and buildable. Feels like you aren't wearing makeup at all once it has been set with powder, and leaves a matte finish with staying power. This lasts all day. Also VERY affordable, order from amazon! I think in theory this is a great foundation. It’s definitely more medium-full coverage which is great for my acne prone skin. The first day I tried it I didn’t use a primer, which was a mistake. It clung to my dry patches (combination skin) and ended up looking really oily by the end of the day. The second day I tried it with the Hard Candy Hydrogrip primer, which helped a lot. I only had to touch up with a little powder later in the day. My biggest complaint with this foundation is that it oxidizes. It looks fabulous going on, but a couple hours later looks too dark for my skin tone. If I had known this in advance, I would have bought a shade lighter. The shade I did buy, however, will look great in the summertime. Overall, this is a great foundation for the price. I bought this foundation with high hopes and have tried it out several times. I am so dissapointed. It does not blend out good on my face whatsoever and looks very patchy. I used Smashbox and CoverFX primers but no help. I used high end moisturizers beforehand to ensure no dryness on my skin. Nope. I tired brushes and damp sponges. Nope. I LOVE this foundation. I try to stick to drug store make up simply because of price but when it comes to foundation I’ve always had to use expensive products. My go to was urban decay. My skin is SOOOOO sensitive, I’m a redhead that actually tans, has freckles and I break out all of the time just from outside and the pollution… yes I’m THAT sensitive. But this foundation is the BEST foundation I’ve ever used. It makes my skin look flawless, it’s truly full coverage – unlike other brands that claim to be. It’s light weight, creamy but not too creamy, a little goes a long way, doesn’t cake or crease and truly lasts for a long time. It says 16 hr, but honestly it lasts longer. I’ve fallen asleep and my face still looks fresh. I tell everyone about this foundation because I’m so happy with it. Been using it for months and I don’t plan on going back. It is also extremely easy to tone match compared to other brands- it’s true to the color!!! The bottle will look a little darker than what the shade is, but the foundation itself is true to color – just take a crumb size dab on wrist while shopping and you’ll see what I’m talking about. One bottle should last you about 5 months and that’s if you use it daily and have moderate acne like I do. It doesn’t make me break out more like others do.shelby.g

This foundation claims to be full coverage, however, the coverage is more of a medium buildable coverage. Despite this fact, once layered, it creates a lightweight, super-smooth, matte perfected finish. The formula is quite thick with a mousse-like consistency which I usually do not prefer. This product exceeded my expectations and I would have given it five stars hadn't it been for the unfulfilled claim of being full coverage. The color, #306 (Buff Beige), is remarkably natural looking and neutral in tone unlike many other drugstore foundations I have tried. The finish and feel of this foundation is outstanding in quality and comparable to high-end foundations. I don't even need to use primer with it as it is so smoothing with a blurring effect. I would highly recommend trying this. Note: I have very oily skin and my skin color is hard to match but this matches my tone perfectly. Update: (February 24, 2019) After wearing this foundation several times, it seems to have shifted my perspective. My initial reaction on it was wonderful, however, the lasting power is horrible. I am very oily so I’m sure that contributes to it’s lasting power. It seems to never actually dry or set. It settles into pores and fine lines. If I touch my face, even lightly, it transfers off even after setting it pretty heavily with powder. Let me start off by saying that this is not a foundation I would have probably bought on my own. I discovered this last yearish when Ulta was having one of their Diamond exclusives and the deal was that you got this foundation free with purchase I cant remember if it was an online only deal or if there was a minimum amount you had to spend. I had a few things I needed to restock on so figured that was a good time to order. Let me just say, I was shocked at how much I liked this foundation. In fact, it has probably become one of my favorite foundations I would say this is a tie with the LOreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation for me which is my other top pick. I am NOT a full coverage foundation kinda girl, my skin just does not like anything over medium coverage, I start to look really cakey, and this is perfect medium coverage. I do feel like you can build it to high mediumlow full coverage if you need to. You cant feel it on the skin, it gives a beautiful natural finish, and is fairly long lasting. I have normal to dry skin in the fallwinter and more normal to combo skin in springsummer. I do need to touch up a little around the 68 hr mark but after that Im usually good until Im ready to take it off before bed. This foundation looks like my skin but better and offers pretty decent coverage to even everything out. I do usually need to set this foundation w setting powder as it tends to stay a little tacky, at least on my skin. This is one of the only foundations I own or have tried that always looks good whenever I use it. Im the kinda girl who doesnt spend thousands of dollars on makeup. Im quite happy to stroll around Priceline and pick one of the cheaper brands that does the job. I often walk around places such as MYER and David jones and admire all of the more higher class products and dream of having enough money to splurge on these upper end products. When I was invited to the Clinique trial I was so excited Finally I get to try one of these products without having to splurge on myself When receiving the foundation the presentation and box were absolutely stunning So pretty I just wanted to put the box on display I opted it up and the bottle was quite small. You need to squeeze the bottle to use the product which Im not used to, I usually use one with pump action. I didnt like this, I found it hard to use and get the right amount out and Im assuming when you get towards the end of the bottle it would be difficult to get out the remaining product without wasting it. This is one flaw I would change.I was really amazed at the colour match. When I was choosing my colour on the website it had this really cool feature which allowed you to chose your current makeup brand and shade and then it would match it to which Clinique shade you should choose. I know some people aren't used to full, FULL coverage, and that's fine but just know what you want out of a foundation. Those of us that love an amazing full coverage, welcome to the game changer. I was a manager at Clinique, and at that time, Beyond Perfecting was just hitting the shelves, and I've been loyal ever since. I've given up free gratis from other lines and paid full price to purchase this over all of them. I will never try to go anywhere else in foundation. I've tried a few such as the Even Better Glow and the Even Better Refresh and they are fine, but they do not pack a power punch like this one. I have dry combo/normal skin, and this fits comfortably on my skin. If you want to matte it down or take the shine down, put an HD powder over it. Yes, it can transfer, but then I would try a lighter coverage foundation in general, especially if you are not ready for this FULL coverage foundation. This covers it all.Stina

I actually bought this product at Sephora while it was on sale. I didn’t know it at the time but it was on sale for a reason. The texture was very thick not creamy or light at all. The presentation and packaging was very nice. I have very fair skin so even the color match was pretty on point. But once I put it on, it was almost impossible to blend and it immediately made my poor sensitive, dry skin flare up and patchy. I did prime and hydrate my skin before putting the product on, but it was not use. It accented everything I didn’t want it to and just left my skin flared, red, more dry than ever, and super cakey. So, I liked this, but I needed ivory or porcelain. It doesn't have quite the coverage promised and I can make the color work, because I wound up with a neutral instead of a pink. It's winter, that's fine. It's a "natural finish" so that's OK, but I don't feel it lasts quite as long as I'd like. For the $44 price, I would like a bit better. That being said, I would probably buy the other colors on sale, ivory in the fall/winter and porcelain in the spring and summer. (Yeah, fair skin is a struggle, too! All the burning 🔥!) I actually wrote the site it was on because this is not for dry skin at all This foundation was so thick as soon as I put it on it looked cakey. Which ok it's a full coverage foundation, I guess it happens. But as it dried on my skin it actually sucked what little moisture I could put in out and actually made my forehead flake and settled into every line l have aging me about 15 yrs in 2 minutes Normally I wouldn't write a review and just let it go but this foundation actually forced me to go buy a new beauty blender because whatever they use in the formula it stays. It stayed so much I had to fully wash my face to get it off and it stayed in my blender ruining it because it wouldn't come out even after washing the blender with brush cleaner. So I guess for a 24 hour coverage foundation it's good it was so hard to get off but it sucks I had to abandon my favorite blender because the formula will not let go of it So if you have dry skin don't use this. I used to have this on my MUST HAVES list of my make up routine back when I just started wearing makeup. I would still have it on my list if my fine lines and wrinkles weren't creeping up on me. Definitely gives you the value and quality you paid for and more. It's super affordable and makes your skin super soft and blurrednlook for that photo finished look. I noticed of course wearing primer and moisturizer under made this product look much better once finished and lasted much longer. Without the primer I needed to ouch up about lunchtime but when I did do a little touching up I noticed it gave me a cakey look. I also noticed that as I wore it thru the day that my face looked patchy and I believe this was because if the oil in my skin. 2.5, 3 is just honestly too generous. So first I like the shade but it does oxidize something terrible. Thankfully I use the white LA girl concealer which will highlight anything no matter how orange so whatever it was still fine. Second, I am a dewy girl, a balmy babe, I like to look WET however I still had to break out powder and double spray for this foundation! It looks…fine. But for being just a few hours into my day it could be so much better. I assumed that even though it was dewy, it would dry down with a luminous finish. It does not dry down at all. The texture it is when you first spread it onto your skin is the same texture it will be 30 minutes later. In the age of mask wearing this foundation should be on the bottom of your list, not transfer proof. not even a suggestion of longevity. I itched a pimple and was devastated to look in the mirror and see a nice tan, bronzed face with a nickel sized patch of angry pink skin where my pimple was :/ returning today as I could not work with the formula.Liz

I bought this #maybellinepressedpowder because of all the great reviews and I typically like #maybelline products. Overall I think this is a fine powder; it's very smooth, the color is perfect, and there packaging is nice. However, it's a little more sheer than I wanted. I've tried it moist and I tried applying it with a thick Kabuki brush but could not get the coverage I wanted. Don't get me wrong, I was not expecting #lancomedualfinish results, just a touch more than this product could provide. I feel the best use for this powder are touch ups, but use the #revlonvolcanicroller first so the powder won't cake in oil. Almay, I love that your products are hypoallergenic, but I don't understand why, if you specialize is sensitive skin (so most likely your clientele is post 35, as skin becomes more sensitive with age), all your foundations are either matte or for oily skin. Where are the moisturizing dewy, luminescent foundations for women mid-late 30s and older? I am 43, and have light warm toned skin. I bought this foundation because I needed something hypoallergenic that doesn't irritate and give me a rash, and it said the product was moisturizing so I bought it. My first disappointment is that your color options are all either cool or neutral in the light and medium shades. There are no lighter shades in a warm undertone. So I got the neutral buff. It's an okay color, but too ashy, almost a slight green/gray tint against my fair golden undertone skin. Ashy tones are aging. The finish is quite matte and looks cakey. I used my fingers; maybe I'm supposed to use a sponge, but I don't like to do that as you actually waste a lot of product with sponges. I actually consider your Skin Shade Matching foundation 'matte' but compared to this one, it's almost dewy, maybe because it's less heavy. So I guess I'll stick with that one instead. If you are age 13-27, have oily skin, and want a matte foundation with fuller coverage, have either neutral or cool skin tone, this foundation will likely be a good fit for you. If you are in your 40s+ and have dry skin, I can't see this being super flattering. Please make a dewy finish foundation specially for dry/mature skin!Ginger1

*** Product bought with my own money *** Application method : sponge PROS : – average consistency that’s easy to blend, – instant true matte finish (at least on me), – decent lasting power (not stunning, just good) as long as the skin is not oily, – natural finish, neither cakey nor too makeupey, – light to medium coverage (at best), – non-drying, – comfortable to wear. CONS : – slightly gooey texture (though less gooey than Almay TLC Makeup) which is still too thick to fill in pores, – emphasizes pores immediately, – creases very badly on oily areas within 2 hours, – settles in expression lines (except around eyes which is my driest area), – average shine control, – no blurring effect (just the opposite of the so called "optical blurring technology" claim), – limited shade range, – no pump, – bad quality control. COMMENTS : This foundation is a mixed bag for me. On the one hand it has a true matte finish (which I love), is easy to blend and has a decent lasting power. But on the other hand, it creases and cakes on oily areas as soon as oil peeks through, settles in every lines (forehead and smile lines), and emphasizes pores upon contact (and even further as day goes on). I can’t see the logic of launching a true matte foundation that works only on normal to dry skin while the most logical targeted skin types should be the oily/combo ones. I can’t find a good match : 100 Cool Ivory is a touch too light (but way too pink) and 110 Neutral Buff is one to two shades too dark (but has a gorgeous yellow undertone without any peachiness). This does not necessarily worsen my rating, it just means there’s not my shade in this range. I end up mixing 100 and 110 in equal parts to get a decent match (but I hate mixing shades, it's a waste of time and product). There are at least several shades missing between 100 and 110 as there’s a huge jump between them (as shown in a joined picture). I’d like to point out the poor quality control : – the consistency of the foundation changes from one shade to another : 100 Ivory is way thicker (and has more coverage) than 110 Neutral Buff, then 120 Cool Bisque (just bought this one for comparisons) is thicker again, – the label doesn’t stick well to the bottle (there are lots of air bubbles under it) and the silver printings flake and vanish super fast. Now let’s talk about the missing pump. Seriously, Almay, how can you launch a new foundation in a glass bottle without a pump on it ??! The formula is too thick to easily pour it out of the bottle, and such an old-school bottle doesn’t offer good control over the amount of product you get (which means it's messy and there’s a waste of product). I’ve seen on your Instagram account that you claim the lack of pump is a choice of yours "to eliminate the use of unnecessary plastics in our packaging". This is hypocritical as you are still launching new products with plastic-based packagings. If you really wanted to use less plastic, without penalizing users who like the praticity of a pump, you should at least sell reusable pumps. I just think the pump was removed just to reduce the manufacturing process, nothing laudable here. I join a picture that shows I fitted pumps on my bottles. The Colorstay pump works fine (you'll have to change the pipe that goes into the product as it's too short) but the cap becomes tricky to put back as it does not touch the bottle anymore (you may accidentally press the pump if you push the cap too far). I chose to use other pumps with a 24/410 ring and a long pipe that I can cut at the right length. I also join a picture of dry swatches of the three lightest shades compared to my go-to foundation in the two shades that match me the best (Urban Decay Stay Naked in 20NN and 20WY) Will I repurchase ? Absolutely not ! Even if there was a good shade match, the overall performances are just average (except for the gorgeous-but-short-lived matte finish). Let’s hope that Revlon (which is Almay’s parent company) will launch their own version with a more sophisticated and better performing formula.Arosci

I use Almay clear cinplexion 4 in 1 since it came out, I used this line for over 20 years, a few discontinued products with better replacements til now. The new version added prebiotic and aloe, I now break out from it and this product was recommended as a replacement via email by almay, however I broke out terribly. And still don't know what to use next, I will be trying cliniques version of complexion clearing liquid foundation as a last resort, hoping to find it works the same and doesn't orrotate my sensitive skin. Love this foundation ! It goes on smooth provides full coverage . Gives a nice natural finish doesn't dry out the skin . I love that it has spf so it protects the skin while in the sun. L'Oreal Paris foundation is one I'd recommend .holly.c
