I used to have this on my MUST HAVES list of my make up routine back when I just started wearing makeup. I would still have it on my list if my fine lines and wrinkles weren't creeping up on me. Definitely gives you the value and quality you paid for and more. It's super affordable and makes your skin super soft and blurrednlook for that photo finished look. I noticed of course wearing primer and moisturizer under made this product look much better once finished and lasted much longer. Without the primer I needed to ouch up about lunchtime but when I did do a little touching up I noticed it gave me a cakey look. I also noticed that as I wore it thru the day that my face looked patchy and I believe this was because if the oil in my skin. 2.5, 3 is just honestly too generous. So first I like the shade but it does oxidize something terrible. Thankfully I use the white LA girl concealer which will highlight anything no matter how orange so whatever it was still fine. Second, I am a dewy girl, a balmy babe, I like to look WET however I still had to break out powder and double spray for this foundation! It looks…fine. But for being just a few hours into my day it could be so much better. I assumed that even though it was dewy, it would dry down with a luminous finish. It does not dry down at all. The texture it is when you first spread it onto your skin is the same texture it will be 30 minutes later. In the age of mask wearing this foundation should be on the bottom of your list, not transfer proof. not even a suggestion of longevity. Overall I think this is a fine powder; it's very smooth, the color is perfect, and there packaging is nice. However, it's a little more sheer than I wanted. I've tried it moist and I tried applying it with a thick Kabuki brush but could not get the coverage I wanted. I love this foundation! The formula is amazing! So I will start by saying I received this complimentary from Influenster and the shade would have been the correct color if it had not been me going to CA + getting a tan! So now I would say I am Porcelain/Vanilla 🙂 when I am really dark Ligjt beige these are all the neutral undertones! When this foundation first came out they did not have as many fair shades as they do now which I love because us pale girls in Oregon know the struggle. I will note that the "porcelain" shade is a bit darker than at what you would normally label as porcelain so just a thing to keep in mind 🙂 Here is my run down of this foundation: LOVE: – This foundation creates a peerless appearance for me (I am very oily) and I love how the texture isnt fully exposed – I love the shade range of colors too faced has to offer with this – The coverage is amazing I do tend to have circles under my eyes, redness, and pores and this covers it ALL! (Saya medium coverage but for me it's more full which I love) -Little goes a long way and it doesnt oxidize like crazy or turn super orange -Although its hydrating it IS oily free so I love how I fo t get slick after a few hours! co-stars on wonderfully greatly paired with a peerless primer! The only con I would say about this is perhaps the form of application. I do like how this looks better with a brush than a beauty blender. Bit personal preference I know others who use this with a blender and it's pretty so take that with a grain of salt. Definitely worth the price as it lasts about 6 to 8 months 🙂 Love how effortless my skin looks with this foundation and I need to try the concealer also!clpbeautyy
I would not consider the foundation as medium full coverage I would consider it as a full coverage. my skin is very acne prone with lots of scarring and combination skin. this with one coat plus maybe a few touch ups provided enough coverage to go with it. it felt very light it wasn't setting heavy on my skin as a lot of the other full coverage foundations do that I have tried. the only complaint I have is possibly the staying power it kind of tended to wipe off around my mouth area but that was like 8 hours of wearing it so that's not really a complaint I would say lol. I was very hesitant about posting a picture without it on because I tend to be self-conscious about my face without having any makeup on. but for people like me that has trouble skin I wanted to show you guys how well this product worked for my skin. a lot of the times we view foundations on advertisements that show the before and after pictures with someone with already beautiful flawless skin and it kind of deceives the idea of if not people with skin problems should purchase it or not because it doesn't show us how well it would work for our kind of skin. that's one thing I can say that I cannot stand about makeup advertisements is they show the product before and after on someone with flawless skin so it really doesn't give us a good idea of how well the product even works.. When I initially received this foundation item in the mail, upon opening the package, I noticed the shade name for the exact foundation I received is 'Almond.' Having tested this product on my skin daily for over a week's time, I personally do not find that shade name to be a genuinely accurate descriptor, as I mentioned earlier on. I agree that this product, as advertised, could be considered a medium to full coverage foundation. However, if you are looking for a foundation item to entirely cover small moles or sunspots/freckles, if you do not wish for that appearance in your look, then this is probably not the ideal foundation product for that purpose. I do find this foundation creates a pretty flawless, even, and almost 'airbrushed' sort of finish. I found unfortunately, that for my own skin, which is a combination type, I honestly would not put this foundation as my first choice for repurchasing, as I feel that while this product does genuinely live up to its advertised claims regarding moisturizing effects and ingredients, for my skin type, it was actually over-moisturizing were it a product I'd c continue using on a daily or even every other day or so schedule. The coverage and pigmentation/shading of this foundation was medium to full coverage and lasted all day, with mild to moderate activity, including walking my dogs and other fairly simple day to day activities. This foundation product held up with consistent, even, lasting coverage throughout the duration of my trial period of over a full week using this product daily for at least the first week and a half, then closer to every other day following that period of time. Bottom line, although I do think there are many positive qualities to this product, it was in fact, too oily for my day to day use. I genuinely DO like the shade, but I tend to use it as more of a highlighter or contouring type thing because it's a bit too light for my liking. I've found that the coverage itself is lovely on its own, but can cause some dryness if you have a sensitivity to SPF possibly? I'm not a scientist, but if I put this on without allowing my other skincare to fully absorb or if my skin is "too dewey" that it tends to pill or roll up into tiny play dough snakes. Hah. But if I put it in by itself, it tends to be a bit chalky afterwards. I also find that a lot of the product comes off on my fingertips or my brushes – which seems like quite a waste. But maybe that's the beauty standard or maybe I need to wash my brushes more often. That being said, it's still a good foundation if you want lighter coverage without having to "cake" it on. This packaging feels so high end. There is something about the cap that is so satisfying; with the Lancôme rose logo on it. I found a good shade match for my fair yellow skin in 160 Ivoire W. I have applied this with a beautyblender and a brush. I find the brush, Sigma F80 or Real Technique Blend and Blur Brush, applies the foundation smoother and more evenly. It dries fast but not painfully so. I do half my face and then the other half with enough time to leisurely blend. The finish is matte and the wear time is pretty good. I didn’t notice much transfer and it fades with no patchiness. I still set my combination skin with powder but very lightly. I don’t think it’s critical to set with powder, unless you have very oily skin. So, I can see why this is a classic and I think it’s amazing quality makeup but my qualm is that I didn’t see the full coverage claim manifest. I saw a light but build able coverage. This can be built up for more coverage but I don’t see the full coverage miracle. Otherwise, when I don’t have a crisis to cover up, I find this a reliable matte foundation best applied with a brush. I consider this one a good foundation for me for the following reasons: PROS: – It works well on top of my skincare and sunscreen (I never rely on foundation for spf protection as you need to apply a lot) – It has SPF 15, which is not enough for your daily protection, but adds up to the spf that I always apply. – It has a beautiful natural finish (I don’t consider it matte) which is the kind of finish I prefer. – It is lightweight: it looks natural on top of the skin. – Good coverage: I don’t consider it full coverage unless you build it up a lot (losing the natural skin like finish and turning heavy instead) I would prefer more coverage but it is enough to cover partially my hyperpigmentation and look decent. CONS: – The price: it is an expensive foundation, but I understand that it is expected for a luxury brand. – It didn’t last 24 hours on me. It may be because of my skincare or sunscreen, so I cannot blame the foundation. Maybe if I had applied it by itself, the finish would have been completely matte and the duration much longer. – Not transfer resistant, at least on me, but it may be because of the same reason I just described. The shade range is amazing and is a very good option for women of color and women with with a neutral or olive undertone, especially Indian women looking for a new foundation. This is my new holy grail and my forever foundation, its also very beginner friendly. I moisturized and primed my face beforehand and then used my finger to dab some onto my head, cheeks, and nose, and using a beauty blender I started to blend it outwards until it disappeared into my skin. I have to say it blended really well and melted into my skin straight away, without settling into any fine lines. Although I find the formula to be quite thick and pigmented, it isn't heavy on the skin and I only required a small amount to cover any slight redness and uneven areas. The result? Airbrushed but natural. My face was very uniform-looking, and there was a slight glow which I liked and was not expecting. This is a silicone-heavy formula which ultimately I would not be able to use daily, I will definitely be using it on special occasions, as it provides a good amount of coverage that still leaves you looking natural. One little oddity I did come across was 'Alcohol Denat' as the 5th ingredient, but as someone not planning on using this often, I'm not overly concerned about this. I love this foundation! The formula is amazing! So I will start by saying I received this complimentary from Influenster and the shade would have been the correct color if it had not been me going to CA + getting a tan! So now I would say I am Porcelain/Vanilla 🙂 when I am really dark Ligjt beige these are all the neutral undertones! When this foundation first came out they did not have as many fair shades as they do now which I love because us pale girls in Oregon know the struggle. I will note that the "porcelain" shade is a bit darker than at what you would normally label as porcelain so just a thing to keep in mind 🙂 Here is my run down of this foundation: LOVE: – This foundation creates a peerless appearance for me (I am very oily) and I love how the texture isnt fully exposed – I love the shade range of colors too faced has to offer with this – The coverage is amazing I do tend to have circles under my eyes, redness, and pores and this covers it ALL! (Saya medium coverage but for me it's more full which I love) -Little goes a long way and it doesnt oxidize like crazy or turn super orange -Although its hydrating it IS oily free so I love how I fo t get slick after a few hours! co-stars on wonderfully greatly paired with a peerless primer! The only con I would say about this is perhaps the form of application. I do like how this looks better with a brush than a beauty blender. Bit personal preference I know others who use this with a blender and it's pretty so take that with a grain of salt. I would not consider the foundation as medium full coverage I would consider it as a full coverage. my skin is very acne prone with lots of scarring and combination skin. this with one coat plus maybe a few touch ups provided enough coverage to go with it. it felt very light it wasn't setting heavy on my skin as a lot of the other full coverage foundations do that I have tried. the only complaint I have is possibly the staying power it kind of tended to wipe off around my mouth area but that was like 8 hours of wearing it so that's not really a complaint I would say lol. I was very hesitant about posting a picture without it on because I tend to be self-conscious about my face without having any makeup on. but for people like me that has trouble skin I wanted to show you guys how well this product worked for my skin. a lot of the times we view foundations on advertisements that show the before and after pictures with someone with already beautiful flawless skin and it kind of deceives the idea of if not people with skin problems should purchase it or not because it doesn't show us how well it would work for our kind of skin. that's one thing I can say that I cannot stand about makeup advertisements is they show the product before and after on someone with flawless skin so it really doesn't give us a good idea of how well the product even works.. I spent hundreds of dollars on foundations due to the product being so deceiving on in the advertisement showing it on a flawless skin and then I'll go out and purchase the product and then it's terrible for my skin type so it's funny wasted. I can say though that even with this product being $40 a bottle I will go out and repurchase this again due to how well it works. as this product if I could find products like this more often that were at a medium price point that actually worked I wouldn't mind spending the extra money on it that way I know for sure that the product is going to be a good one. I have tons of bottles of foundations that I've bought based on advertisements that are just sitting in my makeup containers. this would be a great purchase. however my before and after pictures are me applying the foundation about 1:00 p.m. and wearing it until I would say about 10:00 p.m. the picture with the foundation on is with a drugstore primer the foundation and then a drugstore setting powder that's all and then later the night when I took the foundation off that's when I took the after picture of my skin with nothing on it beside the moisturizer. When I initially received this foundation item in the mail, upon opening the package, I noticed the shade name for the exact foundation I received is 'Almond.' Having tested this product on my skin daily for over a week's time, I personally do not find that shade name to be a genuinely accurate descriptor, as I mentioned earlier on. I agree that this product, as advertised, could be considered a medium to full coverage foundation. However, if you are looking for a foundation item to entirely cover small moles or sunspots/freckles, if you do not wish for that appearance in your look, then this is probably not the ideal foundation product for that purpose. I do find this foundation creates a pretty flawless, even, and almost 'airbrushed' sort of finish. I found unfortunately, that for my own skin, which is a combination type, I honestly would not put this foundation as my first choice for repurchasing, as I feel that while this product does genuinely live up to its advertised claims regarding moisturizing effects and ingredients, for my skin type, it was actually over-moisturizing were it a product I'd c continue using on a daily or even every other day or so schedule. The coverage and pigmentation/shading of this foundation was medium to full coverage and lasted all day, with mild to moderate activity, including walking my dogs and other fairly simple day to day activities. This foundation product held up with consistent, even, lasting coverage throughout the duration of my trial period of over a full week using this product daily for at least the first week and a half, then closer to every other day following that period of time. Bottom line, although I do think there are many positive qualities to this product, it was in fact, too oily for my day to day use. This is a very good and affordable foundation. I have this foundation in “Light Ivory”. The undertone of this foundation is slightly yellow, but after applying concealer and the rest of my base, the shade looks fine. (Since I purchased this foundation, the shade range has been expanded.) I find that this foundation has a medium amount of coverage that can be built up to increase coverage or sheered out if desired. Although this oil-free foundation claims to have a semi-matte finish, I find it has a radiant/ glowy finish. I have dry skin, so I like the finish of this foundation. After wearing this foundation for a few hours, my skin can get oily and require blotting/powdering. I recommend setting this foundation with powder. If you like a foundation that has a dewy or glowy finish, you may really like this foundation. This product is very affordable, although the bottle only contains 20ml of foundation. (The standard amount is 30ml.) I will continue to use this foundation and I will try different primers and powders to see if I can improve the appearance and wear of this foundation. Overall I like this product. It gives me pretty good coverage, not full coverage but it is buildable. I don't like the scent, it smells very fragranced and I enjoy fragrance-less products more. It's also a little drying on it's own and I have normal/combination skin. I HAVE to use lots of skin prep and moisturizers before putting it on, and overall I enjoy more moisturizing, glowy bases instead of matte looks, so this is a great product for people with oily skin/people who love matte, but not for me. I decided to try this foundation again recently after running out of it a few years ago. I clearly just forgot how good it was. The foundation looks beautiful on the skin and you can keep layering and building the coverage up without it looking cakey or bringing out the texture of your skin. If anything it looks smoother the more you put on. I really like the shade range this foundation has as it seems to cater to a lot of different undertones. The shade is perfect for me. The perfect shade for people on the paler side. After setting with a finishing powder, my acne prone skin looked almost airbrushed and it lasted great throughout the day even without a primer. I personally like the smell, I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s not overpowering and it did not irritate my skin. The foundation didn’t seem to cause any acne. I truly enjoyed trying out this foundation. The Dior Forever Foundation is long-lasting, very buildable, and smells great! This foundation has a smooth and creamy texture, much like high end facial care serums. It’s a rich, medium to full coverage foundation. I applied it with both my fingertips and a sponge, and found that it went on a little easier with a sponge, and was also easier to blend with a sponge than my fingertips. I have combination skin, and found that even though I applied face cream to my dry areas, this foundation did tend to look uneven on drier skin, and also seemed to magnify any enlarged pores around my nose and settled into the fine lines around my eyes. My favorite qualities about this foundation are how great it smells (fresh and clean scent) how long it lasts, and how smooth my skin felt after applying it. It truly feels like fine skincare, not just foundation! After applying it, my face felt so soft and smooth. I’ve never experienced this with another foundation before. By the end of the day, the foundation still looked great, and there was very little transfer to my mask that I had to wear for about two hours! I have a red splotch on my cheek, from acne scarring, and found that this foundation was able to cover the area well. I used shade 2N (light skin with neutral undertones) and found the shade to be a bit yellow. I had to work especially hard at the jawline to blend it and keep it from showing up as a yellow streak under my chin. While overall, I really enjoyed this foundation and would recommend it to friends, I feel that two areas that could be improved upon are the color (I found this neutral foundation to be a bit too yellow), and how it settles into imperfections like pores and fine lines. I saw good reviews about both Dior Matte, and MUFE HD foundations (both recently reformulated). I went to my local Sephora, got color matched, and received samples of each. 2.5N in Dior was the perfect match; for reference, l wear 2N1 cashew in the Laura Mercier flawless lumiere foundation. I applied MUFE to one side of my face, and Dior to the other, and did a 12-hour wear test. (I also used a Paula's Choice mineral sunscreen, Hourglass mineral primer, LM setting powder, and UD setting spray). Both sides looked fairly natural (though more makeup-y than wearing a tinted sunscreen + powder) and they performed similarly on my combination skin. Aside from noticeable wear on my chin (both sides) around 4 hours, the makeup held up pretty well for 12 hours. I did have to blot and re-powder every few hours, but that's typical for me. I think that both *slightly* outperformed my LM foundation, but I would have to do a similar wear test to be sure. At first, I wasn't sure which of the two I would purchase. However, when I finally washed my face and closely inspected it, I noticed that the Dior had broken me out: lightly on my forehead, and heavily on my cheek. I do have sensitive skin, so I wasn't entirely surprised, but I was still disappointed. Perhaps the chemical sunscreen ingredient? Not sure. But given my experience, if you have sensitive skin like me, I highly recommend that you try a sample before you purchase the Dior. If not, and you're on the fence between Dior Matte and MUFE HD, you can't go wrong with either one.melaniesusan
The old formula was amazing and never made me breakout. It makes me wonder if this is truly a “~nEw~” fancy formula or if they just had to price cut the ingredients used and went with a cheaper mixture while charging the same price. Once I finally narrowed it down to what was causing my recent breakouts and terrible skin texture I was pretty upset- I started to realize my skin was looking fine in the morning after my skin care routine at night, but look terrible by the end of the day with an increase of acne. I can’t believe I couldn’t pinpoint that it was this product sooner, but I didn’t want to believe it was this because the old version was just fine on my skin! BUT reading through the other reviews I have to agree, this formula does enhance the look of pores and it absolutely made me oily way quicker than the old one. It also dries SO fast making it harder to work with than the Nars Soft Matte Foundation (which dries very quickly!). Also a heads up that they did deepen the shades- the 2.5N in the previous formula was just a hair too light and didn’t pull a true neutral so I decided to try 3N this time around and it was WAY too tan, so the 2.5N in this formula is what I expected in the old one. These colors are now more accurate to their other foundations, 2.5N in this is identical to 2.5N in their Backstage Foundation. This is my BY FAR FAVORITE foundation. I've come back to review this for the 2nd time now, last time was in November after using for a month to see how I liked it and wanted to see if it would break me out before reviewing, etc. but I've just been unable to find another foundation like this one! To start off, I have really dry, eczema skin.. but if you use a moisturizer and some setting spray on your face before putting this on, you will be fine if your skin is like mine. So, I had run out of this foundation at the beginning of the year, I should've ordered when I was getting low but I was unaware that they don't carry this one in the ulta stores, so I finished off the remainder of this too faced foundation I had (not the same but works good) and that started getting low so I went into my local ulta to see if I could maybe find something similar to it. Nothing similar but a worker recommended a Smashbox matte foundation for me since I have dry skin… and I returned in within 2 days because I just couldn't.. it enlarged my pores and had barely any coverage at all. So I was out of town and went and visited another ulta, hoping I could return that one and find this foundation, they didn't have it either! So I settled with too face again but got a shade too dark. So now I have to return yet again (ulta is about to be sick of me lol) but I'm almost thinking about returning this, and going foundationless for a while until I can order this and have it come in the mail. Too faced is great, don't get me wrong it's definitely my 2nd choice, but nothing seems to compare to this foundation and will always be my favorite. It can withstand heat, humidity and sweat, all while making your face look flawless (not exaggerating). My forever favorite. I would never come back and review something for a 2nd time.. but now that I'm without it and have had to the other foundations again, I am seeing that I need to not go without this foundation again!Riss14
I have been using Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation for some time now and I cannot fault it. It is the most flawless and long lasting foundation I have ever used and I have used plenty of different other brands. I have rather oily skin and tend to sweat from the head quite easily thanks to having PCOS but this foundation stays put even if I spend the entire evening dancing and getting rather warm, it barely budges unless I rub it off. Best of all, it makes my skin look absolutely flawless and silky smooth. I have found it is best applied with a foundation brush than a beauty blender or your own fingers. The brush seems to distribute it more evenly across the face and blends really well without having to use much product. I do always finish my makeup with a setting powder, I just feels it completes the look. I currently use Laura Mercier translucent loose powder which seems to work so well with this foundation. I haven't yet tried other setting powders with it. If you want a Matte, long lasting and flawless foundation, I highly recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear, it is worth the money.Jemz
Every time there's a perfect makeup, a company has to go and change the ingredients and mess it up. The price went up five more bucks, and this stuff, which used to be my #1, just isn't the same suddenly. It's greasy when it wasn't before. What was perfect for oily/combo skin wears off fast in the oily zone. And if you're someone like me who is working all day long and sweating in your tzone, you definitely don't want it separating on your face or transferring any time you try to dab your face with a paper towel. It also feels sticky like it won't dry after you put it on, and it's really hard to put any kind of powder or setting powder over it when it's so tacky. I used to LOVE the coverage and how long it lasted, but it's different now. And this isn't the kind of stuff you can just touch up. You have to completely redo your whole face or it looks terrible and caked on in splotches! I shouldn't have to keep smoothing it over my skin the whole day just to keep it from settling in every tiny line on my face…I'm 34, I don't even have the kind of aging skin that this tries to make me look like I have lol! Why did they fix something that was never broken?! Nothing good ever lasts, they always try to cheapen it up and charge more. This is a wonderful light to medium coverage foundation! I have been using bb creams or tinted moisturizers the last few years. I loved elf’s BB cream because it was enough to cover/blend dark spots and acne scars, but also let my real skin shine through a bit. I also like moisturized/dewy VS. Matte. Now that my favorite bb cream is never in stock, I asked for a rec from a friend and she suggested this one. Needless to say, it’s a big price jump. But I do really love this! Coverage is just what I want, I still spot conceal any stubborn acne but it covers any scars or pigmentation. It stays all day (ALL DAY), and blends without any lines or oxidation. You do need to moisturize well or use something dewy (glossier futuredew for me) to really get that glow, but it definitely isn’t harshe matte by itself. Picking a shade was tough Online because I’m not used to so many undertone options. I’m pretty fair, couldn’t decide my undertone, so I went to store for shade matching. Even though I could probably get away with a few different shades, matching in store with the matching technology confirmed the one I was leaning toward. And a little goes a LONG way with this foundation, so I think it will last a long time. I’ll be buying again!nayri .b
If you're a person of color looking for a new foundation look no further, this foundatoion is absolutely amazing. I have a neutral warm golden undertone and having both undertones I do not have a lot of perfect shade matches in other brands. The shades are either too warm or too olive but this is such a perfect match to my skin. This a medium coverage foundation without looking cakey, it looks like skin. This foundation makes your skin so luminous and dewy without looking greasy, I use MAC Strobe Cream to make it even more luminous. The shade range is amazing and is a very good option for women of color and women with with a neutral or olive undertone, especially Indian women looking for a new foundation. This is my new holy grail and my forever foundation, its also very beginner friendly. The price tag on this foundation is worth it trust me you will not regret getting it and you will not find anything like it. Saw this on a friend – she looked amazing! Yet so natural! Just had to try it for myself. I moisturized and primed my face beforehand and then used my finger to dab some onto my head, cheeks, and nose, and using a beauty blender I started to blend it outwards until it disappeared into my skin. I have to say it blended really well and melted into my skin straight away, without settling into any fine lines. Although I find the formula to be quite thick and pigmented, it isn't heavy on the skin and I only required a small amount to cover any slight redness and uneven areas. The result? Airbrushed but natural. My face was very uniform-looking, and there was a slight glow which I liked and was not expecting. This is a silicone-heavy formula which ultimately I would not be able to use daily, I will definitely be using it on special occasions, as it provides a good amount of coverage that still leaves you looking natural. One little oddity I did come across was 'Alcohol Denat' as the 5th ingredient, but as someone not planning on using this often, I'm not overly concerned about this. I have mixed feelings about this foundation… I have combination skin and tried this foundation with and without primers, powder or setting spray result was pretty much the same… Pros: 1. Shade is perfect for me, 2. Feels nice on the skin when applied, don't feel like I'm wearing foundation… And that's about it. Cons: 1. It doesn't stay! Touch your face and you'll have visable fingerprints on your face-no joke! (and nooo! I did not use to much foundation!) 2. It'll transfer easily on to your face mask in no time, 3. My pores are ENORMOUS even on my forehead where I've not even knew I have pores of this size, 3. It creases in the finelines pretty badly, even if I'll set it with a bit of powder, 4. It creates strange dry patches on my skin, 5. after couple of hours wear it starts looking cakey, skin looks oily and you can see that it's breaking 6. if you'll try to fix it or even touch it up it'll make things even worst. Concept was great and I really hoped it'll work but for me unfortunately it's a fail. Shade is perfect for my skin tone but that's about it. I had 010 cool cashmere, firstly shades run lighter than they appear, even after oxidising. I also have shade 044 cool chai so I can mix the two when I wear tan or use as a bronzer, and that too was lighter than expected, so I would say go a shade darker than you think or go try in a shop first. I tried this because of Tati as she is closer so my age I thought I'd give it a go. It is full coverage and a lot does go a long way. You have to dab to blend, no rubbing at all or it will look awful. It is long wearing too and to me, looks better on the skin after an hour or 2. However it does make my lines look worse and I do have to ammend that. The smell isn't great. At all. Does smell like they mixed in some plasticine. For the price its a very good foundation however I probably wouldn't buy again because I am on a journey of finding a foundation I love rather than like. BUT it does depend on skin types, I have combo, and age, if I was 10 years younger I probably would love this.Hayley R
goes on extremely matte for me, but quickly moisture and oils break through for a 'dewy' look. this is confusing for its description but I would suggest spritzing with your setting spray etc then powdering over that. otherwise it's such a pretty skinlike foundation! that part I agree with. but do not put it on your undereyes, it looks surprisingly bad there. basically if you follow the normal youtuber process you can't go wrong lol. however the shade range is shocking and they really need to fix that – i'm in 'warm spices' and probably could use the last shade, and i'm only about a 420 in fenty, 53g in tarte concealer.JJ

I wasn’t expecting this to be a super star foundation, but it performs very well for my mature, dry skin. It goes on liquidy and sets fairly quickly. I applied with a brush and then dabbed on some more with a sponge in some problem areas. The coverage is really great – a good medium. The finish is radiant with some glow but not overly so. I love that it kind of floated over my pores and didn’t settle into lines and textured skin. I only powdered my nose as that’s the area that tends to get shiny rather quickly. My nose didn’t get shiny until almost 8 hours of wear and even then, I could blot with a tissue and the foundation didn’t come off. This is also the only foundation that doesn’t transfer on to my eyeglasses. It’s the only foundation that almost looks better as the day goes on but still stays in place. I find that this also makes my skin so soft to the touch. For my mature skin, I either get moisturizing that doesn’t last long or long lasting but super drying. This foundation held up nicely throughout the day and I could see the color come off in my sponge when I washed my face at night. So far really liking this drug store foundation. I like it so well that it might be tied for HG status with Koh Gen Do Moisture foundation. I only wish that we could get the .5 colors in the US as they run more pink. I use the 52 Light Vanilla which is neutral enough to match my cool toned coloring. Only con: The foundation has an almost fruity smell when you first apply. While it’s not a terrible smell, I would rather have no smell. It does go away quickly though. Update: The more I use this, the more I like it. I mixed 50 and 51 to get a perfect match for my light neutral to cool leaning skin tone. I find when I use any other foundation, I find myself comparing it to this Healthy Skin. Even my beloved Koh Gen Do Moisture foundation may now be dropped to runner up status. 2nd Update: after all the dozens of foundations I’ve tried (mainly high end), this drugstore brand still tops my list. If I want a more luminous look, I just put it on and go. To tone day the glow, I put a light swish of Jane Iredale powder on top. Best foundation out there hands down for my mature, dry skin. First of all I’d like to say I love the bourjois healthy mix serum foundation for many reasons Price: Everyone wants an amazing product for a next to nothing price, who doesn’t? Now you can, with this foundation pricing at roughly £12.00. Available at boots and many other drugstores. Texture: Feeling light still on your face this foundation does exactly what it says on the bottle and leaves a semi matte finish but still slightly dewy, works perfect with a medium coverage finishing powder. Consistency: Although the bottle is only 30ml, a little bit goes a long way and if you use sparingly you still get the look you’re trying to achieve because of this. Packaging: The packaging isn’t too glamour which maybe knocks the last star off a five star rating however it’s plain and simple and gives the information on the back that you’re wanting to know when purchasing. Wear: this foundation states it lasts for up to 16 hours. I wear this foundation every day to work usually doing a 2pm-10:30pm shift of stocking shelves and moving stock, I walk to work and back which takes half hour each way and this foundation is still on my face by the time I’m home, never looks patchy and is genuinely long lasting. Other: Lastly I LOVE the smell of this strawberry scented foundation and it leaves a lush glow among the light leaving me feeling fresh and radiant throughout the day. I've been using it for quite some time and what I have discovered is that it is great for hyperpigmentation 👀 because the vitamins really help! It's so weird. I originally bought this product a month or two ago in the shade Light. I'm usually NC15 and it looked like a good match for me online. I got it, and it was darker than I thought but not outrageously so, just enough that it bothered me. However, the formula and coverage itself was wonderful and became my every day foundation even if the shade wasn't the match I wanted. So then I went ahead and bought the Fair, hoping it'd be a better match, and even if it was too pale, it's almost winter time anyway. The color match was better this time with the Fair. However this one keeps coming out dry and patchy and separates on my skin and I look crusty! I bought these two tubes mere months apart, so this inconsistency is super concerning!Janet
I am 60 years old, with dry, sensitive, post-menopausal skin. I have fine lines, redness and enlarged pores to consider, when using complexion products. My skin is light with pink tones. I look for clean formulas without chemical sunscreen. I just could not find a medium-coverage foundation that is not matte (looks dry and settles in lines) and not dewy (transfers easily and emphasizes pores). I have tried so many products, have read all the reviews, and have heeded store employees' advice. And yet, my holy grail foundation remained out of reach. Until I tried the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation. PROS: This formula grips to my primer without mottling and is not drying nor dewy. It is comfortable on the skin and protects my skin without irritation. The wear is very good, providing a skin-like finish that can handle the occasional hot flash. I was able to find a good shade match. I like the pump tube component. CONS: This product is only offered at Ulta and the brand website, so I worry about the company discontinuing it for lack of volume sales. There are only 12 shades, so there may be challenges for some skintones. My Fair/Light shade is the only one not offered by Ulta in the just-released value size.DestinTart

On a whim, I tried their "Bye Bye" foundation in the shade light/medium though. And to my shock, this shade was pretty much a PERFECT match. So my advice is, IGNORE what they say the "undertones" are… The light/medium is NOT cool toned. If anything it is warm/neutral. And I'd look at the newer shades they make because I honestly think they are much better and more realistic looking. Also, the formula of this foundation is incredible. It is literally the ONLY thing I've ever found to replace my beloved and very expensive, Chantecaille "Future Skin" foundation. It doesn't settle into fine lines AT ALL and it looks great all day. And when I do a "half and half" test (meaning put the "bye bye" foundation on one half of my face vs. another foundation) it wins EVERY TIME! The ONLY downside is how difficult this foundation is to get out of things. It sticks in makeup brushes like I've never seen and is murder to wash out. Other than that though, this is perfection. It pairs PERFECTLY with their "bye bye" illuminating concealer. I tried their "illuminating" cc cream too and it was a glittery disaster!! But just like their illuminating concealer which has NO glitter, the "Bye Bye" foundation ALSO has no glitter– just diamond powder in it. So you get a subtle glow with this foundation with NO glittery residue!Marinajc

This is a very good and affordable foundation. I have this foundation in “Light Ivory”. The undertone of this foundation is slightly yellow, but after applying concealer and the rest of my base, the shade looks fine. (Since I purchased this foundation, the shade range has been expanded.) I find that this foundation has a medium amount of coverage that can be built up to increase coverage or sheered out if desired. Although this oil-free foundation claims to have a semi-matte finish, I find it has a radiant/ glowy finish. I have dry skin, so I like the finish of this foundation. After wearing this foundation for a few hours, my skin can get oily and require blotting/powdering. I recommend setting this foundation with powder. If you like a foundation that has a dewy or glowy finish, you may really like this foundation. This product is very affordable, although the bottle only contains 20ml of foundation. (The standard amount is 30ml.) I will continue to use this foundation and I will try different primers and powders to see if I can improve the appearance and wear of this foundation. Overall I like this product. It gives me pretty good coverage, not full coverage but it is buildable. I don't like the scent, it smells very fragranced and I enjoy fragrance-less products more. It's also a little drying on it's own and I have normal/combination skin. I HAVE to use lots of skin prep and moisturizers before putting it on, and overall I enjoy more moisturizing, glowy bases instead of matte looks, so this is a great product for people with oily skin/people who love matte, but not for me. I mix it with the morphe glowstunner tinted moisturizer sometimes and it helps with the dryness!ollie.c
I decided to try this foundation again recently after running out of it a few years ago. I clearly just forgot how good it was. The foundation looks beautiful on the skin and you can keep layering and building the coverage up without it looking cakey or bringing out the texture of your skin. If anything it looks smoother the more you put on. I really like the shade range this foundation has as it seems to cater to a lot of different undertones. The shade is perfect for me. The perfect shade for people on the paler side. After setting with a finishing powder, my acne prone skin looked almost airbrushed and it lasted great throughout the day even without a primer. I personally like the smell, I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s not overpowering and it did not irritate my skin. The foundation didn’t seem to cause any acne. 💋 I received this foundation from Cover Girl and Influenster for my honest review. Love the inclusion of skincare ingredients (HA, Vitamin C, SPF), so I don’t feel the need to apply ALL my skincare in order to get these benefits. 💋 The color matched my skin PERFECTLY! I usually have trouble matching shades because of my olive undertone🫒 💋 I tried using the applicator that comes with foundation, but it wound up looking like 17 layers of cakey makeup👎 Instead used a brush for application and beauty sponge (for blending). It evened out my skin tone, had medium-coverage (buildable), and a natural finish that dried down (great for combo/oily skin). A little goes a LONG way, barely looked like I had any makeup on👍 💋 It stayed in place when I set with powder, esp on my t-zone, which I have do with all face makeup. I liked that it didn’t accentuate my fine lines/wrinkles, but it didn’t hide them either. 💋 For a drug store option, it exceeded my expectations. It goes on a little light and will oxidize a bit. Waiting to see how the shade adjusts on you will keep you from the frustrating task of returning and exchanging your makeup in an attempt to find the right match for you. I’ve never had a product like this! Usually I get a liquid so this cream type product is a whole new ballgame for me. I use a dense foundation brush to put it on and my skin looks SO GOOD every time. I tried everything to make this foundation work. I changed my moisturizer, my primer… everything to make this work, but no matter what you do this foundation sits on your skin really weird. Once it sits on your face for 2 hrs, it begins to separate and clump around the mouth area and my skin isn't even dry. It does have a blurring effect on your pores, but it emphasizes dryness and texture everywhere else. It also DRIES DOWN IMMEDIATELY. I swear after you dot it on your face, then go to blend it out, it won't budge and it leads to unblended splotches of foundation all over the face. I'm really good with base makeup but after using this my skin just looked bad. I also got told I looked orange so this oxidizes a lot, for all my brown girls, I don't recommend.[brand:no7]adella.l

If I don't love a foundation, I'll only get about 1/4 through the bottle before giving up on it.. I can usually tell after the first application, but I often give them more tries than I should. And if/when I get through an entire bottle, even if I really liked it, I love trying new brands instead of repurchasing a previous one. You never know what you're going to discover! But this just might be one of the few that I repurchase (it's only ever happened one other time with bareMinerals, so the fact that I want to restock this is shocking and very telling for me). I have the shade Calico (normally fair/light/porcelain – depending on the brand and time of year), and Fair in the matching concealer (normally fair/light). Both are far more perfect matches than I expected, and this foundation blends really well. I have combination skin, and two things I don't much care for with liquid foundations are how heavy and/or oily some feel, but I haven't experienced that at all with this one. So far I've only worn it in the winter (anywhere from 20 degrees to 60 degrees), so I can't speak for how well it holds up in the humid NC summer weather, but I'm loving it so far. This is me with a full face of makeup, so it's not just the foundation you're seeing, but I love it!stevi.m

I love the way this feels on my skin and how light it feels. It looks nice and wears well so far. I have tried with different primers and without primers and have really enjoyed it. Definitely worth trying and it claims to be sheer buildable coverage, blurs imperfections, evens skin tone and all day hydrating all of which I think are true claims. It is vegan, formulated without talc, parabans, formaldehyde, Phthalates, mineral oil, sulfates and fragrance which is great and is cruelty free! Definitely recommend and worth trying! If you’re looking for a lightweight foundation at a decent price, the Covergirl Fresh Skin Milk foundation may be a good option for you. At a bit over $10, this foundation is certainly affordable, but I don’t think that it’s for everyone. I’ve been using it for several days now, and it has some positives and some negatives. Overall I think it has more positive qualities though. The first few days that I used this foundation, I tried applying it with my usual foundation brush. I ended up having to put in way more effort to get this foundation to blend well if using a foundation brush. I typically don’t like using my fingers to apply foundation because it’s such a mess, but I found that this foundation actually works best if I use my fingers. If I do that it seems to blend out rather quickly and quite well. As for the finish, I typically prefer matte foundations, and this is more of a lightweight and satin finish. However, it worked out pretty well if I used a finishing powder on top to get a matte finish. This foundation lasts well all day long, which is really nice, but my one major complaint with it though is that as the day goes on it really starts to sink into the fine lines under my eyes. At first I thought this might be because I was having to use a finishing powder to get a matte finish, but on the days that I avoided using a finishing powder in my under eye area the problem was still there, but maybe just a little bit better. With all that being said, I think that this is still a very solid option for an affordable lightweight foundation for young adults. If you’re starting to have any sort of fine lines though, you might want to opt for a different foundation.
Finally, a foundation that is a true Porcelain and not covered with orange and brassy undertones! 🚨Alert for my fellow pasty people, this is a gorgeous creamy Porcelain tint. I love that it is vegan🐰🌿 and packed with coconut milk🌴 and aloe extracts that nourish the skin. The consistency is liquid but without a viscosity that runs everywhere, it will stay put where you apply it. It can be applied with stippling fingers, a beauty blender or a fluffy brush for best results. It is not chalky on the skin and doesn’t leave a chalky feel after application. A lot of “porcelain” tinted products pump up the “talc” to achieve the proper tint, this one does not. It’s lightweight on the skin, blurs imperfections beautifully, and is buildable friendly. I’d like to know how this holds up in humidity and warmer weather, but in cold weather it’s holding up flawlessly. This will be a new staple in my travel bag! 🧳angela.m

The Almay products I have used in the past were good. This one, however, is absolutely awful. The product comes out of the tube bright white. It literally looks like clown makeup. I hoped for the best and kept it on my face for about 30 minutes. It never got any darker–just stayed bright white. PLUS, the makeup settled in my wrinkles and is very pasty in texture. What the heck? Everything it says on the label is not true. I'm heading back to the drug store for a refund. And I'm also going to think twice before I purchase another Almay product.JanetK.
This was actually better than expected. BUT, make sure you hydrate/moisturize your skin VERY WELL before applyjng this product. It’s rather dry and if you don’t have a good, moisturized base skin, this product will accentuate the peeling texture of your dry skin. But the blending factor is better than I expected. It does feel like you’d expect how thick SPF would apply, like SPF 70, which kinda sucks because this product is only SPF 20. But I’d rather it’s good it has SPF at all.Taruni
Very light coverage, not sure how I like that it doesn’t cover more. But I think I’m going to have to return it because it has a powdery perfume type smell. It has sunscreen in it, but this isn’t a sunscreen smell, it smells like perfume. But I will say one good thing about this is there was no white cast on my face. So that’s a plus if you have trouble finding a SPF that doesn’t leave a white cast.Rockroundtheclock

Ive been using this product since it came out on the market and Ive always loved it. The main problem was always getting the makeup out at the bottom but I resolved that by cracking open the bottle. Not ideal! However, Im sure Im not the only one experiencing this. The last several bottles I purchased, the makeup squirts out like water no matter how much I shake. I may have to find another product after all these years. Sad!
I have been using this same foundation for years with no issues. Within the past 6 months, however, it has been really watered down? The makeup will squirt out mostly water with splotches of makeup in it… it reminds me of oil and water the way it separates. I've shaken it up really good and even pulled the cap off and mixed it and it doesn't help. I wish they'd fix this issue, because i really loved this makeup!! I still use it. Not every bottle does this, but the ones that do are messy and a waste of money. I love this makeup but gave it one star so the issue with some of the bottles are made more aware. Hopefully this issue gets addressed. I will note that I've called customer service about this and they are VERY HELPFUL and refunded my money for the like fourth batch i received.Ledawna
This was a sample given to me.#freesample I put on 2 layers for full coverage. I love that it's a pump so no cross contamination, straight from pump to my sponge applicator. The coverage is nice and silky blendable, and buildable. I didn't have to use but a tiny amount of concealer I noticed especially under my eyes. It contains pro-retinol A+ and vitamin c supposed to be for anti aging. Iv only used it this once so I'll post back next week to see if there's any results there🤷 otherwise this has became one of my top 3 favorite foundations. I like the wide range of shades as well, in summer I'm pretty dark but come winter I'm pale as a ghost 👻. Also the price was super budget friendly for this mom on a budget. I live to get a good deal on a good product so I'm positive I'll be buying this one when my sample runs out.dawna.b
