Best Hair Dryer For Fine Frizzy Hair (2025 Update)

I wish I didn't throw out the packaging because I really want to return this. It's so obnoxiously loud! When I'm blow-drying near my ears I have to cover with one hand or I end up with ringing or an earache. I have thick 4c hair so I bought this for the comb attachment but my hair feels crispy and not even blown out well afterwards. The other 2 attachments are awkward and useless. I have been using a brush style hairdryer for over 10 years. It does the best job drying and straightening my fine, frizzy hair. My old dryer died when I took it on vacation, so it was time for a new one. This brush dryer is a happy upgrade from my previous one. It has 3 heat settings plus a cool shot button. I really like using the medium heat setting with the high blower. It dries my hair quickly without getting too hot and frying the ends of my hair. *different color* I bought this hair dryer on a whim for $19.99 on the Ulta App. Honestly, I bought it so my daughter would stop stealing my hair dryer.. but I used it today and O.M.G!! This is AWESOME! My hair is fine, straight, colored, and in desperate need of a trim (and toner). On a normal day I would use products to tone down frizz, protect from heat, etc but I’m about to try Manic Panic at home so I skipped all products. I washed my hair and used this dryer with no conditioning product (rinse or leave-in), specifically because I’ve never used Manic Panic and am following instructions. So I unboxed this hair dryer, read about the 3 attachments, and snapped on the “easy styling” bristle brush. My hair was dry in under 7 minutes and the results are in the photo. My hair would NEVER look like this without products! I am totally floored, in the best way possible! If I used my typical products (or got my dead ends trimmed) I would be able to skip straightening all together using this dryer. It says on the box “All-In-One Drying Styling” and it isn’t kidding! It comes with 3 attachment options and claims it is for straight, coarse, thick, wavy, curly, and frizzy hair.. well, I can attest to two of those already. And it was $19.99?! You can’t beat it. I didn't expect this to be my favorite hair dryer ever, but I was looking for something cost efficient that I could leave at my boyfriends home. I purchased this 3 months ago and use it 2/week on average. It's effectively an average product, but the film has all but peeled off the handle just from being held. Cosmetically, i don't care much. But what drives me mad is it peels off onto my palm and is VERY difficult to remove from the skin.. it also flakes onto the vanity which is even harder to remove.. the photos speak for themselves. I've never encountered an issue like this and promise you won't want to experience it either. Tossing it in the trash, waste of money.Rinn

Unfortunately, I have very thick hair, that when blown dry often is subjected to dry and brittle ends. I have struggle over the years to find a dryer that will not break the bank or my hair from continued usage. I think I have found that in the Infinity Pro Frizz Free Compact Dryer. Not only does this lightweight dryer dry my hair in record time; my ends are not completely fried. As a result, my thick hair has bounce and shine, just as if I have just left the salon. I was very pleased with the appearance of the Conair InfinitiPro Compact dryer. While it's not as small as some other compact dryers on the market, it's easy to travel with if you have a small travel bag or a suitcase. It's relatively light and the diffuser and concentrator are relatively easy to store as well. I love the color of the dryer too, it's very elegant and attractive and would make a nice gift as well. Overall, I'm very happy with the speeds and the power of the dryer. I personally use the highest setting for a quick dry but the middle and lower setting is just as effective when I use it for styling. The dryer is comfortable to hold and to use and isn't heavy at all. It has a little hanging hook for easy storage but since it doesn't take up much space, it fits compactly into a cabinet or even a large vanity drawer. The only thing that I would change about the dryer is the heat level. It's not quite as hot as I would like and since I have medium back-length hair, it does take a little longer to dry than what I'm used to. This is only a small inconvenience though and I'm very happy with the hairdryer. I've only used it to straighten and volumize so far and it's done the job it advertises and more. Let me begin by saying I would have given this half a star or less, but since I had to give it at least one star, it is a reflection of how I feel about the color. Pro: I love the orange color and that’s it. I start this negative Review understanding the fact that everybody’s hair is different. My hair is a loose wave that I dry with a diffuser every day, I typically use high heat and high speed. This blow dryer only seems to have heat when it is on high, on low it is warm only. However the high option with the diffuser is still excessive amount of wind. Therefore curls get blown out and look straight but low is too low, again with little heat. I suppose this blow dryer would be great for someone that’s blowing their hair out straight however for curls and use with the diffuser I would not recommend this blow dryer.BBLongIsland

I honestly can't rave enough about Shark HyperAir Hair Dryer! This company has thought thoroughly about every type of hair when designing and manufacturing this dryer. It has different settings on it for heat and/or air, as well as different attachments to help obtain the desired style you are going for. It's easy to use, basically ready to use. Just open the box, take the dryer out and attach the end you want to work with. The cord is the perfect length. Not to long, not to short. Inside the box you'll find a handbook that shows you which end is for which look. It's handy to keep going back to so note: put aside, DON'T TOSS IN THE TRASH! I love this hair dryer a lot. The overall look is amazing, the color and the shape. I just love it. My favorite thing about it are all the attachments. It came with 3 attachments : IQ 2 in 1 concentrator ( dry and shape), the IQ styling brush( dry straighten and shine) and the IQ curl defining diffuser (dry curls from root to tips). The dryer has 3 buttons on the back and one on the front. The top left button is regulating IQ air flow levels. It has 3 different levels: low, medium and high. The top right button is regulating the temperature and has 3 levels as well: low, medium and high. After inserting the attachment the IQ styler will automatically adjust to the right settings (heat and air flow) you can also adjust them manually if you want to. On the front of the dryer there is a button "cool shot" when pressed the temperature lights are off and the air that is coming out is cool. The IQ curl defining diffuser is my favorite attachment as it can dry your curls from the root without damaging them. It is shaped like a bowl and has adjustable prongs. If you have short hair, set the prongs up short and set them up long for long hair. I also like the IQ styling brush which can do a 360 degree rotation. It is very helpful as it can help you dry the back of your hair. It also has smoothing and detangling bristles. This exceeded all expectations. For reference- I have thin, fine hair with a natural wavy texture that is prone to frizz. One of the biggest pros of the Reserve 3-in-1 is the size and weight. It is SO light. I can use it comfortably with one hand. The handle size is small and easy to grip. I found changing the attachments to be easy and straightforward. I think this has just the right amount of settings both temperature (4) and speed wise (3). I found the second temperature and second speed to be my most used. My favorite attachment is the oval brush. The size is perfect. The bristles create a nice amount of tension so I can lift and pull. My hair didn’t get tangled like it does with the revlon. I *finally* could get that signature blow-out “lift and pull” motion! This attachment created so much volume at my roots and gave my hair nice bounce. Fast and efficient too. I did go in with my flat-iron in some areas to manage my texture, but overall this is the closest my hair has looked to a blowout done at home. I like the design of the dryer attachment. It creates a larger surface area of equally dispersed air. I did have to tousle my hair a bit to get at the roots if I wasn’t sectioning it, but if I turned the fan to the highest setting, it did blow my fine hair around more like a traditional dryer. My hair didn’t come out as frizzy using this. I found it to take about the same amount of time as my usual dryer but could use a lower heat setting which is a huge pro. The paddle brush did a nice job creating a more sleek style. My hair has quite a bit of damage so I went in with my flat-iron is some spots, but I did not have to section and do my entire head like I usually do with a brush and dryer. I think I will appreciate this attachment more as my hair gets in better condition. I am always looking for new ways to streamline my haircare routine. This one product is able to dry and style your hair at the same time. I put it to the test on freshly washed hair. First, I applied drybar's prep rally detangling heat protectant then I went in with the blow dry attachment. I dried my hair with the blow dry attachment until it was about 75% dry, then I went in with the paddle brush attachment to create a smooth straight look. I like how this device has 3 different heat settings and a cool setting to lock in the style. I used the second hottest heat setting for majority of my hair, then did the cold shot to set the style in. I have super frizzy hair so the cold shot after heat styling is a MUST for keeping my frizz under control. For the bangs, I used the curling wand brush on the highest heat setting to give my bangs some volume and body. With all of the customizations offered, this tool includes everything I need to create countless hairstyles- and it saves me space when I travel! Absolutely worth the money. I was apprehensive about buying this hair dryer brush but after researching multiple brands online, I was told this was one of the more beginner friendly hair dryer brushes on the market. Its a little awkward to handle I will admit, since it is comically large, but its light enough to not cause pain in my wrists. Drying my mid-back length hair with this brush took no more than 30 mins. I usually have to deal with getting hair rollers done, sitting in a dryer for 45 minutes, spending 15 minutes having a blower used to straighten my edges, and then another 15 to 20 minutes with a straightening iron. I'll take the 30 minutes of learning how to use a new styling tool and getting great results over sitting in a salon chair for an hour and a half, thank you very muchKibbles

I have mid back length thick natural hair with textures 4a, 4b and 4c coming from my scalp. Using this blow dryer is the first time I have ever been able to blow dry my own hair straight in 20 years of attempts. It was easy to use and does take time, but I feel a sense of accomplishment. I used a heat protectant and mostly low heat, detangled it and sectioned it into 8 sections. Mind you, it is a blow dryer- I would still need to flat iron it to get a bone straight style, but this certainly exceeded my expectations and has been a joy to use. When I first got this blow dryer, I could not stop raving about it. I love how convenient it is. It can get your hair pretty straight, if you let it. With that being said you can easily damage your hair. I love that this has a cool air setting, for people like me who easily damaged their hair. It's easy to use, but it also can be slippery on the handle if you're using product on your hair. I have type 4C hair, and the brush bristles help me to get it as straight as possible. This is a really well made hair dryer. Feels like salon quality-of course that does make it a bit heavy, but it's worth the trade off. It has fan speed settings as well as heat intensity settings, which is a big plus. I like that it came with both a concentrated stream attachment as well as a very nice sized diffuser. I am also impressed with how smoothly it dries-the keratin and argan oil infused grill really does seem to work. I'm not sure how well it will hold up long term-I imagine the effects will lessen over time-but this is still a very solid and effective dryer. The cord is a nice length and the hang loop is quite handy. First off, hair dryers are a 100% essential part of my daily life. But they have always been simply a tool to dry my hair. Fortunately, this hair dryer offers so much more. In addition to its high quality, sturdiness, and beautiful champagne platinum finish, it has an extra long cord, 3 heat settings, and includes two styling attachments. But the features that set this hair dryer apart are the damage-preventing conditioners and the ion generator. This hair dryer has benefited my hair more than shampoo or conditioner has. I never thought the solution to my hair problems could be found in a hair dryer. With fine, aging hair, I've never been able to nourish or condition my hair without weighing it down or making it too flat and stringy, and any attempt at volume was simply frizz. I love the way this hair dryer feels in my hand. I don’t know what it is but it just feels like it is made of stronger and better materials. I have naturally curly/wavy hair and I’m very choosy about using any heat at all so this is perfect for me! I use the diffuser attachment and always finish with the cool shot feature! My hair tends to get extremely frizzy with any dryer but this one isn’t so bad at all! I was a sceptic about the Argan Oil and Keratin being transferred onto my hair but it must be true. I have zero frizz today at all! Also it’s worth noting that it has a loop to hang the dryer. I love appliances with a hanging hook! Saves space! I've tried several of these, and this one is the best of them. It dries my thick, coarse hair quickly. Usually I let it air dry, while doing makeup, getting dressed, etc. Sometimes doing a quick rough dry with my regular blow dry with my regular hair dryer, but honestly I think this probably isn't even necessary, as far as for time sake. It may be quicker not to rough dry first. Mostly I do that just to try to minimize heat damage, because this does get pretty hot. This doesn't seem to do any damage, though, and makes my hair look so soft and smooth and healthy looking! I like the smaller barrel. I wanted to be able to create some wave at the ends with it, and I can do it to some extent, with the right technique. I couldn't with the bigger ones I've tried. My hair is pretty long with a lot layers. Overall I love this tool, and recommend it over most others of this nature, and it's a great price too!Nikki

Was going back and forth between this one and the Revlon one. After watching some YouTube reviews picked this one and glad I did. It does not disappoint! I have thick, long (mid back) wavy hair. I was able to blow dry and style a soaking wet head, right out of the shower, in 26 mins. I usually let me hair air dry first so excited to use it again knowing I can probably get it down to 15 mins. I will add, this movement to dry my hair is quick for me because I have been round brush drying my hair for years so there may be a learning curve for others. I also don't expect pin straight from always using a round brush so this does have some body and flow which I like. But you could quickly run a straightener through at the end if you like that look. I saw people stating it gets hot but that makes sense, it should. The barrel is ceramic just like a curling iron so it will get hot. Keep you hands on the cool tip and don't grab your hair right from it. Grab from the top of your hair, give it a second or switch to cool before changing sections of hair. That's also healthy for your hair too finish on a cool temp.A

I could not believe how easy it was to use and to style my hair! I have found that I prefer to blow dry my hair a bit instead of using the brush on soaking hair because it has been saving time. I will say that I definitely recommend heat protectant and hair oil because if not used carefully, hair can be pulled out. I would suggest watching a video or tutorial depending on how you want to style your hair but go get this brush! I have been asked multiple times if I just got a hair cut because it looks that good! I also find that I really don't have to touch it up once I initially style my hair and the look has lasted me 3 days between washes without having to redo it. I love the volume it adds and that my hair has more dimension rather than pin straight. I think I am addicted.emily.g

I am extremely disappointed in this blow dryer. Primarily, the attachments. They don’t seem to fit properly and constantly fall off. This is a huge setback when you are trying to get ready and have to keep stopping to pick up off the floor and re-attach. If you are not a person who uses the attachments the blow dryer itself is decent. Otherwise I would suggest spending the extra buck or trying a different brand.Mstaud

I have had 2 of these hair dryers. The first one was great and lasted me for a few years. The second on I have had for maybe 6 months and the diffuser won’t stay on. It keeps popping off. Also, the power button broke today. It won’t stay in the on position and keeps popping back to off. It’s a faulty switch.Rose

I love using the to blow out my natural hair. I have thick natural hair and this blow dryer really does a great job at getting my curly hair blown out. This blow dryer has cool, medium, and high heat settings. I’m able to get my hair blown out with the medium setting. This is a very good quality blow dryer. This is a replacement to an identical dryer that finally died after nearly 15 years of use. This machine has a strong airflow and gets hot when needed. It has 4 settings: 1) low speed-cold air 2) low speed warm air 3) hi speed-warm air 4) hi speed-HOT air. One switch is RED, the other BLUE, and below, a black (power) switch. The funny thing is that the RED switch controls the motor speed, the BLUE switch controls the heat setting. I'd think that the RED should control the heat and the BLUE control speed. Since I relate RED to heat. The old unit was the same way. I'd recommend running it a few seconds on LOW heat cold air a few seconds before shutting it off. I think that helps make it last longer. Great value!!! If you cannot afford the Dyson air wrap , this brush can basically give you the same results for less than $20. It works best on dry hair or at least 80-90% dry so to prevent extra heat damage. Yes, the hair gets tangled. The directions say: “Release curls by placing the finger of one hand on the cool tip and pressing the rotate barrel button with the other hand. Be sure to let the cool tip rotate while you press the button.” This gave me the impression that the barrel rotates. Silly me. The barrel did not rotate. I called the company and was told that it does not rotate, but it just loosens and lets you pull the brush out. It does NOT loosen. It actually pulls out any curt and lift that I managed to get in. It does not seem to have much drying power. The barrel gets hot, but there isn’t enough air blowing to dry my hair. My old 300W Conair does a much better job but the barrel is too big for my newly shortened hair. I’d still be using it if the smaller brush hadn’t gotten lost in my recent move. Since I bought the Revlon for the smaller brush rotating brush, it's going back today. Additionally, the Revlon Perfect Heat 300W Hot Air Styler and Dryer is marked 500W. (It feels like I imagine a 100W would feel.) One star because it's better than nothing.tilu

The or even the are 100%, HOLY GRAIL ITEMS!!!! I can not dry or do my hair without them! And that is coming from a girl who would happily spend tons of time on my hair to get it to look just how I wanted it to in the past bc I am so picky when it comes to my hair. Using these products gives me absolutely beautiful results in no time at all! Both of these products serve a dual purpose for me, in that while they are drying my wet hair, they are also straitening my hair into a smooth, non-frizzy, shiny, blown out, look in just a couple of minutes! After my first use, I was like, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL OF MY LIFE?! After I get out of the shower, I personally use and spray my damp hair and then I use the hot brush through my hair slowly with my head upside down. I will then work my way to lifting my head back up, so I can start lifting my hair at the roots slowly upwards just a little, on the top, to give my hair a fuller, more lifted, boost, all over the crown of my head from the roots! I have very long wavy hair and sometimes I despise having to stand there forever trying to blow dry my hair because my arms get so tired with regular hair dryers but I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight and compact the Remington Products – Pro Wet2Style™ Dryer was!! I love that it comes with several different attachments, I especially love the detangler/straightener tool! It has comb like teeth and with the vertical design of the dryer it makes it easier to dry and brush and the same time. It took less time to dry my hair than it normally takes and that's a big plus! My hair actually felt healthy and straight after using the Remington Products – Pro Wet2Style™ Dryer. The only two things that keep me from giving a 5 star review is that if you accidentally hit yourself in the head with the comb attachment, it HURTS!!!! The ends are a bit sharp feeling if you end up bumping your head with it. The other con for me is the buttons on the handle, I kept accidentally turning the heat setting down and the air flow off!! I needed a new blow dryer, and happened across this one in the store. Very pleasantly surprised! It is very light weight and small. My daughter has thick long hair that takes forever to blow dry. Used this blow dryer with the attachment that can suck in your hair and it cut the dry time in half or more! No tangles or boys with it which I was worried about. Then took off the attachment and finished her roots with my hands and the heat was just right, not too much for my hands or burning her hair/scalp. For myself I have thin fine hair and my hair dries quickly, but has been very dry lately. After using this blow dryer and not changing any other hair care products, my hair was actually softer. I really enjoy using my Pro Wet2Style Dryer. I have used it after taking a shower and my hair is damp after using the towel on it. My hair is long and straight. With using the dryer on my hair, it gets dried quickly and is quite easy to brush after drying it and it styles quickly and beautifully. My hair is kind of difficult to brush after showering and towel drying it because it gets tangled. Using the attachments that come with the dryer help my hair be much less tangled and my hair becomes much easier to brush through. My hair is less damaged after using the dryer and the attachments. The dryer is light and easy to hold while drying my hair. Each of the four attachments are really easy to insert onto the dryer to use on my hair. The buttons are really easy to turn on and turn off the dryer when I am using it and when I am done using it, the cord is a really good size and does not get tangled. The detangler attachment is awesome to use because I can dry and brush through my hair easily at the same time. The blowout boost attachment is cool to use because at the same time I am using it to dry my hair, my hair is getting some lift and does not look so flat. The slipstream attachment is pretty cool as well because I can put a good amount of my hair inside of the open space of it and it dries it and detangles it at the same time and is easy to brush afterwards. It was difficult to find this dryer in the store but happy Walmart had it available on line. I bought two dryers… one for home and one for travel. This is by far my favorite blow dryer. I have used this brand and particular dryer for over 30 years. Love all the interchangeable combs/brush. I use to be able to go and replace parts if they brake but they no longer sell them, which is ok due to the fair price of the dryer. It makes my hair super soft, shiny and the smaller teeth keep my hair straight longer. Worth it for sure. This has been and always will be my go to for days I need to blow dry and go.KJ

Have been using my new dryer in my home setting for about a week now. So far, so good. It's quieter than my last dryer. The high setting is pretty hot, so am mostly using the two lower settings of the three available. With lots of power, my hair gets dried in a jiffy. The colors of the dryer make one happy…. Little but good way to spice up the day. We'll see how it holds up over time. Also, the dryer arrived about a week before the expected delivery date, which pleased me no end! Didn't get much in the way of information as it was traveling across the nation to get to my house. Info received was basically, "It's on its way," and "Out for delivery." I am NOT a hair person so any tool that comes along meant to make dealing with my hair an easier task I am more than willing to give it a try. This is similar to another popular brand on the market but it has less attachments. This is definitely not a bad thing unless you need the other attachments to achieve the look you are hoping for. The instructions for this one is pretty straightforward and simple, even for someone like me. The smoothing brush attachment does an okay job smoothing my hair texture but I immediately knew I would have to add one more tool to this setup to accommodate my natural hair texture and get the smoothness I need to avoid any additional heat in my hair after completing the process until my next hair wash. So I did have to use a flat iron to truly smooth my hair out. Also, because of the texture of my hair (which many women of color may be in the same boat) the idea of leaving hair not completely dry to use the curling attachment isn’t realistic as my hair would not hold up 5 minutes after walking out of the door if I tried that and my hair would become a huge poofy mess. Using a small amount of setting spray on each section before using the curling attachment is what works for me. It’s a bit of a learning curve if you haven’t used the similar version but ultimately this works well enough. It won’t give you the same curls you could achieve with an actual curling iron but it will give you nice, soft waves to curls (smaller sections of hair to achieve more curl, bigger section to achieve soft waves). For some hair types this will be an excellent addition to their routine. For myself, it’s good if you have the additional time and if using the safer heat option for your hair to try and maintain hair health with less damage from heat. But ultimately I would probably opt for the flat iron and using it to create the curls I may want versus having to pull this set out regularly.KaeL

Ok. Finally I can make a proper review I started giving 10 for the support team (I wasn't happy with the the machine I received) they exchanged super fast, no problem. To me, is hard to say every product or every machine will work for everyone… I am Brazilian and my hair is an unidentified thing. Crazy!! I wash, dry and style 3 times a week. I coloring (cover the grays) and straight 2 times per year. I never buy anything without search every little detail. 3 years ago I saw Dyson advertised and was something I really considered. I went to Ulta Beauty (they just use Dyson) to try on. I hated! But I hate everything the stylists did with my hair. I just postponed. This year I was ready to go. After I use a couple times this is what a thing… Pros: Power button – isn't between your hand (never power off during the process. More volume. For sure! Almost no Hair on the floor or in the hairbrush (definitely last breaking). The hairbrush they sent me for free (game change) I will have one those for ever! Easy to hold e move around. No worries about your hair being sucked by the filter. After I style (with my regular curly iron) I still have more volume than normal. Cons: The machine is light but the electrical cord… oh my! Really heavy. I won't travel with. I didn't have that shine and silky feeling. I didn't gain any time. I always take 20 minutes to do the job with any kind of machine. Presentation – awful! It's a very expensive machine to arrived this away. I have machine didn't cost half the price and come with a beautiful box, wrap with a silk bag for protection and travel. It's like buying a luxury item and arrived at supermarket plastic bag. Overall, isn't perfect. But I will keep and recommend this machine. I asked for this for Christmas and got the blue and bronze version with the storage box. Firstly the products look amazing you can feel the great quality. Secondly I absolutely love how the pieces just magnetise into the dryer – I didn’t actually know how they attach before I got mine and I love just how this happens. The edges stay cool so you can remove easily as well which is a great design feature as no one wants burnt fingers! But the big big plus for me which makes this really worth the money (over the fancy colour and the magnetic attachments) is how much this reduces drying time. I have long super thick 2b/2c hair (curly) and I would usually air dry which would take about 3 hours to completely dry. So I would very much be going into work ‘wet hair don’t care’ but this is taking me only 20 mins to diffuse my entire head of hair which is a complete game changer. Meaning I have lovely formed bouncy curls first thing rather than elongated wet look waves where the weight of the water is dragging the curl down. I have tried the diffuser attachments on my other regular hair dryers by the way but have always ended up a huge frizz ball which I don’t get with the Dyson Also when I want to straighten it look me 40 mins rather than 2 hours using the comb attachment – my hair was practically straight in 20 mins with the dryer then I just went over with the Ghds I love this product I would 100% recommend if you have hair like mineTinK

I've been using the Dyson hair dryer (Nickel/Copper version) for a month. Initially wasn't sure cost worth it, because even at a very reduced price it was higher price than any other hot hair tool I'd ever purchased. Then I watched some videos on using it and the attachments. I experimented with the various speed & heat settings, as well as all the attachments to find they mattered greatly. I'm now convinced I like it a lot & definitely happy to have. My hair type: Lots of fine wavy/curly, short/mid-length. My hair styles & attachments used: Curly/wavy: Use only the Dyson diffuser attachment. Blow out smooth: All Dyson attachments but the diffuser. Section and start with Wide-tooth comb. A little use of the gentle air attachment with a paddle brush & Styling Concentrator with round brush. Finish with the Flyaway attachment, which really really does work/make a difference in smoothing. Usually use the lowest speed setting and heat 1 or 2. While I recommend this product, note that I would never recommend paying the full price. I have the discretionary income & could have paid full, but I waited for a discount and saved lots of rewards dollars over time before opting to making my purchase.What I want 2day

Im overall very impressed with my expierence using this producy. Having just cut a large amount of hair due to damage, damage reducing technology is definitely a priority. It being my favorite color ever is a huge bonus but this appliance is very good quality. From what i can tell, this blow dryer uses high air power more than high heat power. It comes with accessories to do lots of different styles. The product itself seems such good quality i could see it lasting for a very long time. I love that it has differnlent settings so i can adjust how much or little heat my hair endures. It left my hair with so much body and so very soft. I picked this out online and my husband picked it up from the store. There are a few problems with this dryer. I wanted to give it more than 2 stars, but I cant. The first problem is that I have curly hair, and the diffuser isn't very good at all. I get better results if I just use my hair products and let it air dry. The diffuser doesnt completely dry my hair or even partially. It leaves it mostly wet and the frizz! I thought they were supposed to cut down on the frizz. This just makes it worse. If you're not using the diffuser, it dries it ok. It is not strong enough for everyday use. The other problems are actually design flaws, and I cant get past them. The heat setting are supposed to be cool, warm, and hot. They really are cool, slightly less cool, and inferno. And the speeds are supposed to be low, medium and high. The low is barely anything, medium is low, and high is hurricane. And the cold shot button doesnt work. I cant push it. My real concern is the plug just falls out of the wall. The cord is nice and long, too, so Its not getting pulled out of the wall by the cord. It just falls out. All in all its not a good dryer.Lindsay

About the dryer: * It's larger than I thought it would be; definitely larger than the one it replaced — both the handle and the barrel seem longer and wider. It seems a bit heavier than the what it replaced, but I think it's just that the weight is distributed differently. This is heavier on the back end; the previous one was more evenly weighted. However, I haven't had any issues using it because of the weight. * It has a DC motor. (I would have preferred an AC motor, but could not justify the extra cost.) * The handle has been pretty comfortable. There are three switches on the inside of the handle. The top button is for a burst of cool air. The next switch is the heat level. There are three levels, no heat (room temp), low, and high. The switch at the bottom (near the pinkie) is on/off. The switch placement makes it easy to change heat setting, but I find myself flipping switches inadvertently mid dry as I adjust the dryer in my hand. * The high heat is not as hot as the last dryer this replaced. * I actually love the black and purple colors. * Other: I purchased this to replace an old (30 years!) Vidal Sassoon blow dryer whose motor blower fan broke (motor still worked, by the way). I would have replaced it with another workhorse just like it, but would have had to get it on eBay and 1) I couldn't wait for shipping; and 2) the price would have been more (for something used!). I purchased at Walmart because I was able to get it shipped within two days (fastest of the retailers I was pricing it on and I needed it fast) and the price was right (lower than most of the retailers). I've had this Remington for a month or so now and have had no real issues with it. I haven't tried the diffuser, but do use the concentrator. It works well for my needs. The VS dryer had a coil cord that was 12-18 inches longer than the Remington's when stretched out. While this cord is shorter, it's still long enough for my current needs (my outlet is next to the mirror above the bathroom sink). And while I liked the coil-cord, I definitely don't miss the cord getting all twisted. I can't say whether or not I'd purchase it again because I don't yet know it's longevity. However, I would recommend it at this point.MMJ

After doing a bunch of research, I decided to order this hairdryer because I liked the attachments, and the way it automates the settings. It took some getting used to, and I had to adjust the way I dry my hair so I didn't burn my scalp, but after I made those adjustments, I'm loving the hairdryer. I bought the diffuser attachment separately because the set that included the diffuser was on backorder with no idea when it would come back in stock. I primarily use the hairdryer with the diffuser because I have curly hair, so I haven't tried the others yet. But, holy smokes, this thing really works! It dries my hair super fast, root to tip, and I haven't noticed any extra frizz as a result. As I said above, I love that the dryer sets the temperature and speed settings for you based on the attachment you're using, so you're not left wondering if you're using a setting that's too hot or too slow for the style you're trying to achieve. I've had it for several weeks and I'm not seeing any issues so far. I only wash my hair twice a week, so there's less wear and tear on the hairdryer than those who wash every day, so your mileage may vary. Overall, I'm very happy with this hairdryer.Drea

Great dryer! I upgraded from a Remington that was probably around $50. I have thick hair that goes to my mid back and I can dry from soaking wet to totally dry in about 10 minutes, before I spent around 20-25 minutes drying my hair. I blow dry a few times a week when I work late so I don’t end up sleeping on wet hair. Personally I find my hair is less frizzy and way more management after using this dryer. The Shark is about half the price of the Dyson, I feel this product is a better investment for me because my hair doesn’t require a lot of styling. If I blow dry it I can just wear it straight, it’s too heavy to hold any type of curls. Compared to other more traditional dryers it’s quieter and much lighter. The low heat setting is very mild and has not damaged my hair, but I do use heat protectant just in case. The biggest con for this product is that the styling tools are chunky. I like the brush but I have a hard time using it around my head. The brush is hard for me to get to lock in place for the IQ to work. The other attachment it comes with is easy to get on but it also chunky. I think if you have thinner hair they might be more practical. Overall I love try Shark, it dries my hair fast and without damaging it with is what I was looking for.emily.s

I got this dryer with the concentrator and styling brush attachments about a week ago. I have shoulder length fine straight hair which I normally blow dry and then run a straightener through to smooth it out. It dries quickly, is fairly quiet and not very heavy so works really well. The styling brush attachment is essentially useless if your hair is not very long in my opinion – very clunky and difficult to use – a round brush and concentrator do a better job although I was hoping it would help better straighten the back of my hair when I blowdry as it can turn out bumpy with a hairdryer alone. The concentrator is really good – it has both a fine and wide adjustment which works well and is easy to use and to take on/off. Overall, this is a great dryer that dries in a fraction of the time and produces really nice results. I've had people ask if I had just been to the salon after just blowdrying my hair without using a straightener or other hair products after. I've paid more for salon quality dryers in the past that have died in a year so I'm hoping this lasts. So far, I'm a big fan!VC72

I have the airshot hairdryer. It's a good dryer but the buttons are definitely in the wrong place. I've come from a ghd and eti dryer. The eti dryer has similar location of buttons but doesn't affect the dryer performance of the dryer so didn't think this would be an issue when I read other reviews advising this. Excellent product which is perfect for my short hair. It is difficult to find a micro straightener and I was not disappointed by the product which is well made and very functional. Very useful silicone sheath to put the iron in for travel and a travel pouch/ heat mat included too. Great results as the iron is a perfect length for shorter hair.
