I was at a bachelorette last summer and one of the girls had these extensions and they looked great. When I saw Ulta had them I figured I'd give them a try. They did not disappoint. So easy to use and surprisingly comfortable, I forget they're in half the time. The color was a little brighter/warmer than my own so I made a purple shampoo bath (using shimmer lights shampoo) and put them in for about 15 seconds to tone them. I also use the color wow root spray on the top of them to blend nicely with my darker roots. I've tried a lot of extensions and these are the best so far.Rebecca S.
Pros: very easy to apply, great concept Cons: feels, looks and smells like synthetic hair. The instructions indicate the hair comes with a protective chemical coat, but if this is 100% human hair, why would you add something that is going to make the hair look, feel and smell like synthetic hair. I'm guessing it's potentially a mix of natural and synthetic hairs. I ordered the Espresso and the hair strands are very thick. If you have fine hair this won't work for you. My hair is thick so it might pass as my own hair. To this company: please stop ruining natural hair with chemical substances and leave it natural (if it's actually 100% human). Soaking the extensions in hair moisturizer treatments after washing them, using heat protectant or non heat styling methods should be enough. If these extensions are not 100% human hair, then be ethic and make them of 100% human hair as stated in product.EC
I bought these for my wedding and to have for special occasions. The color "butterscotch" matched my hair perfectly. They hold style really well and blend with my natural hair. I do agree with another review that they feel almost like Barbie hair versus human hair but for the price and my first set of extensions, I'm satisfied. Only two cons: the clips sometimes pop back open and I can't get them to stay closed. And my hair is relatively thin and fine so I have to work hard to keep the tufts and clips/Seam hidden. Which means I have to find time during my very busy day to package them, and go to the post office. Because of their mistake. I just think thats unacceptable. Terrible quality, the hair on the tape in's is so thin, not full like before!! The inhyseves, sticky part don't stick. I tried one more time hoping the quality would be better and no way, was way worse!! I will NEVER BUY from you all again and I was an 8 year repetitive customer and never again this is twice in months I've spent lots of money on your extentions and twice now….horrible! Not gunna lie. I’m extremely disappointed. I have always used Donna Bella tape ins. They’ve been my favorite FOR YEARS. I’ve had them for a few weeks now but waited to have them put in until my birthday. Well I got them installed yesterday (professionally) and then I took a shower today, and I’m not even kidding you, EVERY WEFT FELL OUT IN THE SHOWER. I’ve done nothing different from every other time I’ve had them installed…but when you’re paying big $$$$ to get them installed, and they fall out the next day, it’s super disappointing. most of the tape stayed in my hair…after examining both my hair, and the tape and the wefts, I noticed that some of the wefts have a glossy side….some DO NOT!!!!. I’m convinced it’s the hair that is not holding the tape. Since the tape is what stayed in my hair and the weft is what slipped off the tape. I don’t even know what to do now. My birthday dinner is in two days. And I’m practically hairless, our $300 for hair that I can’t use bc it doesn’t stay in, and another $300 for the installation of the hair that wouldn’t stay in. And another $300 + another $600 for more new hair and another installation fee….So $1200 and I have no hair still. I’m so upset it’s not even funny. 😭😭😭😭😭 On a side note, color was on point. If you want it to look somewhat natural and full you need at least two. I used two different colors to make it match my hair. They are nice and thick.The band is not clear but instead it is a brown color and I found that cutting it off and sewing clips on these work best for me because the band doesn't fit properly and since it is brown and not clear it shows on my head. The hair will curl but only if pinned for at least 12-24 hours then allow to cool before unpinning. Curl with a wand then wrap and pin. The curl usually lasts all day. Pros: Thick, good color match, affordable, easy to put in (with the band or clips#, virtually undetectable. Cons: takes more work to curl which takes time, doesn't last as long as real human hair # holds up for approximately 8-10 wears if styled with heat then the "Barbie doll hair effect" takes over and lastly they do shed a bit when brushed and 16 inches is as long as they come. I bought 2 purple and my girls loved them. So when we went back to get all the other colors. But, they were all bad and falling apart. After looking closer at them, I realized they were glued on to a little clip, and the glue was coming apart. I looked back at the purple ones that were so wonderful, and the clips were twice the size and sewed on. I don't know if they started trying to make them cheaper, but they are horrible now. I bought 2 purple and my girls loved them. So when we went back to get all the other colors. But, they were all bad and falling apart. After looking closer at them, I realized they were glued on to a little clip, and the glue was coming apart. I looked back at the purple ones that were so wonderful, and the clips were twice the size and sewed on. I don't know if they started trying to make them cheaper, but they are horrible now. Please put them back on the bigger clips and sew them on again in all the colors.Ashley
