I PROMOTED THIS PRODUCT WHILE WORKING AT A LOCAL SALON THAT HAD A LICENSING DEAL WITH LOREAL AND I TOOK SO MUCH HWAT FOR PROMOTING A PRODUCT THAT WASNT LOREAL THAT MY BOSS SENT ME HOME WITH A GEL FROM THE LOREAL LINE THAT SHE CLAIMED WAS COMPARABLE TO "GOT TO BE GLUED" AND IT DIDNT EVEN COME CLOSE. The price though as you imagine had a weird imbalance that I felt didn't adequately represent the value of each product. I use every last lil glob. (I already have a new one in the cupboard. This is such an easy product to find, I believe I paid around $6 for a huge tube that will last a life time and the way it works is just wonderful. My brows hold up the whole day and just always looks the way I want! i love layering this gel on top of innersense i create hold, which is my second topper gel. this ouidad gel pretty much seals and sets my style. the texture is slimy not sticky and creates amazing slip. it has anti humidity ingredients so i would say it does it great job keeping freeze at bay. unless you’re super active (like me lol) then expect your curls to not last too long. overall i would recommend this product! for reference i have 4b tight curls, coarser textures around the nape of my hair.curlyblackgirl

I have tried so many gels from lower price points to high end. I have 2C-3B curls, low porosity and regular porosity strands, shoulder length, and curly bangs. Lots of layers in my hair with the shortest being 2” on top. I particularly love this gel because of its runny consistency, which makes it super easy to glaze and rake through the hair. On top of average 80%+ humidity in summer, I work a job that often causes me to sweat. This gel holds up. I can get away with washing my hair once a week. When I need a refresh, I either simply add water which reactivates the gel or, around mid-week, dampen hair and add more gel. The cast created is buildable – less gel = softer curls with little cast, more gel = stronger cast. I prefer a stronger cast with this product, so I use a dollar coin sized amount THREE times on each side of my hair, working in sections. I say this because some people think this gel doesn’t make a cast, but maybe they aren’t using enough product. It is an expensive gel, but worth every penny for me.cassandra.m

I heard hundreds of recommendations for this gel when I started embracing my natural 2B-3A medium porosity hair. I bought it without question, and even ordered a second bottle (the huge one, too) after the first ran out. I thought the dryness/straw texture my hair got after application was just par for the course with gels since it was my first time ever touching gel. As I learned more about humectants and other ingredients in hair products, I realized that the high glycerin content in this gel is the culprit behind my frizzy locks. Doesn't matter how much or how little gel I put in, my hair frizzes and knots as soon as it's 50% dry and it gets exponentially worse if I apply any while refreshing. For anyone reading: if you live somewhere that's very dry or very humid, avoid humectants like glycerin in the first few ingredients (or at all). Humectants draw moisture from their surroundings, but if the air is dry as bone (like it is where I live), it's going to pull that moisture from your hair (and skin if it's in skin care products) and make it extremely dry. If the air is extremely humid, your hair will feel squishy and icky (and skin will feel oily) if you use products with glycerin in them. All that being said, this is a great gel. It's liquid so it coats hair easily and I never had any problems with it flaking. Its glycerin content is just not right for my environment. If you live in a moderately humid place, this will probably be a fantastic gel for you!Amber

I am pretty brand loyal when it comes to my haircare, but every now and again if a product is amazing enough from another line , I will cheat on my usual and dip into the other line for that product. This is one of them The Moroccan Oil Treatment oil, which I feel is their most popular product that lead the way for this brand I think lol yes it is expensive, yes I get it cheaper because I am a liscenced professional lol but, when it comes to these higher end hair products , usually,you get what you pay for. It is worth the expensive price tag. The bottle is on the small side but a little goes a LONG way unless you want to look like you stuck your hair in some grease than by all means lol but seriously a tiny bit, rub in your palms and rub jtno your hair , focusing on the ends and midshaft scalp will just make u oily I have naturally curly hair that is prone to dryness, it gets frizzy , its thick. I use the regular Moroccan oil treatment but there is also a light for those with finer hair , more oily , sleek type ,thinner hair that this regular one might be a little heavy for. I also apply this to dry hairz over my midshaft and ends when I feel they could use a little TLC . If theyre looking a little dry maybe just a little bit of this run through it and it will make your hair feel all soft and loveable again. I like the smell, it isnt anything strong or overpowering. This is the only hair product I do use from Moroccan oil, I am sure they do have other good products but at that price point and already being happy with my current hair care routine, Ive never felt the need to try them and I feel that this product here is their Holy Grail so to speak, like the 1 amazing stand out product where they are at the top of their game. I really love using this stuff. I have for years. My original favorite was Chi Silk Infusions and I still like that stuff but I feel this does the job better. So basically youd use something like this for heat and uv protection as well as moisture and shine. Mostly I use it for getting some moisture back in my really parched, heat abused hair for a nice, healthy and naturally shiny look. Using products like that can go wrong really fast. You can cross the line into greasy mess from shiny tresses quick. You can do that with this too if you use too much but a lot of products do that no matter how little you use. This lasts forever because even with the thickest and driest hair needs only a dime size or less warmed between the palms and lightly rubbed through every layer from root to ends with finger tips open to get every strand focusing on the ends. Ive noticed that it gives me life back to my hair. It gives me that naturally healthy movement you just dont get with fried hair. With this and changing my hair habits I have come almost all the way back from totally broken hair to healthy hair thats a little dry and has split ends. And with my current issues it makes it look like I have none. Especially when I flat iron my hair with this as a heat protectant it almost seals the cuticle completely and keeps my hair looking super healthy until my next wash. I also use it randomly to add a touch of moisture back into my hair if its really dry. Or if my ends are getting bad between trims I use this and flat iron them to seal them and make them look healthy temporarily. It also smells amazing. I love the comforting and unique almost but not quite tropical scent. Its very unique and very feminine without being like a perfume. It makes my hair smell fresh and pretty and that scent lasts for a couple days. Overall it is a little expensive but it lasts a long time so it ends up costing almost the same as the drugstore over time because if does last so long. Its just more of an initial investment. A sephora employee told me this stuff actually is bad for your hair and dries it out but I dont think it would have gotten so famous if it wasnt so great for so many people. Maybe she just had a bad experience. It wouldnt have been the first time I had been given bad information by a Sephora employee but I just thought Id mention it. I totally recommend. Lets just say, I love Morrocanoil and have for years the product has always been consistently the same until I tried the bottle from this seller.This does not smell or feel like MoroccanoilI love my normal Morrocanoil because its Lux, silky smooth and has a specific color and wonderful smell. This product was not any of those things it was tacky it stuck to my hands and didnt glide through my hair and made my hair feel rough. It had a nice smell but not the Moroccanoil scent.I still have some Moroccanoil from my last bottle and even the color is different.This new product is not good. Not sure if I just got an off bottle or what has happened.I read over the label and it said nothing about a new formula. All I can say is this is not the signature Morrocanoil and its not a good product. It feels like castoroil.I liked the price and thats why I ordered from this seller but next time I will just pay full price at the salon because I know what Im getting.It even wasnt in its signature box or had the same colored label so that makes me more curious.I couldnt find a way to contact the seller I went to the reorder page and the sellers name was different then this one. I'd been using Herbal Essences' 'set me up' styling gel for years and only purchased Garnier's styling gel because Herbal Essences is no longer making the particular gel I had been using, or for some reason, it simply is no longer available at a reasonable price. I have to say that Garnier's gel is far superior to Herbal Essences' gel. I have extremely short gray hair, and my morning routine consists of a one to two-minute blow dry, a quick brush through my hair, and an application of a small dollop of hair gel. After that, I never touch my hair for the rest of the day. Garnier's product is very light, nicely scented, and it stiffens my hair in place with a very natural look. There is absolutely no white flaking, and the amount required to hold my hair in place is about half what I used to use with the Herbal Essences gel. A dime-sized amount is completely adequate to ensure my hair doesn't move. I am far more satisfied with this gel than with the various ridiculously expensive gels my hair stylist uses on my hair when I go in for a haircut every six weeks. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, and the inexpensive price can't be beat!harley.g

This acts like glue. I have long hair (just above waist) and I tried this because my husband uses it (short hair). I added a quarter size amount to damp hair, scrunched it a bit and let air dry. Nice wavy curls but midday I put my hair up into a messy bun (hair was barely damp). At the end of the day when I let my hair down it was all glued together. When I brushed out my hair it ripped and pulled. Awful. My hair is now damaged and completely frizzed out. I am getting it all cut off this weekend. This is the only hair gel I use. I freak out if I’m out of it. I was traveling and had an early appointment and realized “one of us” didn’t pack it. I have very fluffy/fro-ey hair so I rely on it. It’s water based and light and had an impressive hold. It shakes out or fluffs out without flaking. An easy hair re-wet can help the water based formula reshape and get ya through the last few hours of the day if you need. I've used this brand of styling gel for years. The newer products with higher numbers, don't seem to have better holding power than those with lower numbers. Perhaps they have changed the formula. #9 is rarely stocked in stores anymore. It works best on my fine hair which blows in the wind if I don't use it. You rub it into your hair after you shampoo while your hair is still wet. When your hair dries, the hair stays where you combed it until you run a comb or brush through it to take the stiffness out. It will last for about 2 days. It is water soluble and non-greasy. And it is also inexpensive. One bottle will last me more than a month. The squeezable bottle allows you to use every bit of it. For the past year or so, my hair has returned to a state of greasy last seen when I was a teenager decades ago. Add in that I have hyper sensitive skin and scalp and it has been a frustrating battle. I can rake this through completely dry hair for a 30 sec afternoon/evening hair upgrade and never have worry about flakes or sharp straw-like strands. Having been a loyal fan of Cremo shave cream since it was introduced around 2016, I was excited to try your new hair gel. With thick dry hair, I need a product which offers control as well as a shine not found in dry hair. But in spite of its’ rich price point, the product failed to deliver. The Good: I've been using this stuff for a few years now, I really enjoy the way it makes my hair feel after I use it. My hair is naturally very curly, yet it's on the finer side and also become very frizzy especially from the natural elements (rain, humidity, etc). I use this product on days when I don't feel like styling my hair but I still want my natural curls to come out looking like their fresh, nice and tamed. This product is fantastic because it does not dry down crunchy whatsoever and the gel feels very light-weight on the hair, which is great because out mousse/gel products tend to weigh down fine hair and can be easily overdone. I use this both on wet and dry hair depending on what stage of getting ready I am at during that time. I find it has the best effect on damp hair. I do not use this in my roots, I mostly apply it to the bottom 70% of my hair and if applying wet, I will also brush out my hair with it in. When applying dry I simply "scrunch" it and smooth it through my hair and it really helps bring about a lovely ooomph to my natural curls. It also helps with frizziness and instantly smooths out my hair, I've reached for this many times during humid days because it really helps my curls not frizz up in the future. I start smaller and apply more as needed. I found that I don't need a whole bunch of product to make this work well and I'd rather apply more later than apply too much all at once. The Bad: Oh boy is this formula STICKY and SLIMY. Honestly this is a very unique feeling gel during application that I have not experienced in other products and I know that I certainly cannot wait to wash it off of my hands after using it. The packaging could also be better as the formula sticks to the top of the tube and creates a dried "slime" and the cap is easily snappable due to the very thin plastic attaching it to the bottle. Really nice gel, I use it for scrunching and for refreshing my curls. I’d say it’s light hold – it does dry to a light cast but easy to scrunch out and helps with definition. Thin consistency so it’s easy to distribute and it’s great for curl glazing. Works really well with the Amika curl corps defining cream. I have thick 2c low porosity curls for reference.Carrie

The pros: .Smells nice .Very smoothing .Lots of product inside . Leaves hair with a nice shine to it Cons: .Soft cast/hold. Claims to be a max hold 10 but it's more soft to medium in my opinion. I expected much better hold from this .Unpredictable results: I have a love hate relationship with this. I have a 2b/2c all the way up to 3a and 3b curls (so a mixture naturally) and I find no matter if I use more of it or less, it leaves some sections stringy one moment then I end up somehow liking it more after a few days but after a few hours it looked like the definition had lost its hold on wash day? Idk man, this gel is a weird product. I haven't owned anything like it. .Not to do with the product itself but superdrug bro you know too well you're ripping people off with this when the hair and beauty supply shops are selling this for a much better price margin. Go to any black owned beauty supply and they have this for a lot better value for money. Overall, this product is not terrible. It hasn't done my hair harm. The most disappointing thing to me about this was the hold. It is super thick yet I find I have to put quite a good amount of this on. It looked like it was going to come out amazing the second time I used this when wet but when it was diffused and dried and I scrunched out the cast it was defined, but not as good as I expected given all the effort I put into it. I did not settle for mediocre results. I also noticed that when I put my hair up the wispy hairs around my face were all sticking out. The loreal invishold normal strength gel gives me much more superior results and I haven't had any of these problems with that product. I therefore will not be purchasing this again as I don't feel it is for me. I will probably try using this for slicking my hair back to use it up before recycling/reusing this container.Dynasty123

I use this gel everyday, I can’t live without it. I always buy a big container so that it lasts long which usually lasts me a minimum of 3 months for a great price too. What I like about it is the hold and the slickness it gives me. I like that it doesn’t dry out my hair like some other gels I’ve used abs still gives me the hold. Have been using this for several weeks now and have had lots of compliments on my curls. I was looking for an alternative to the Umberto Giannini curl jelly, which I love but seem to get through too quickly. So glad I tried this and don’t see myself using anything else now. I bought this stuff on sale a year or so ago. I blow dry my hair every time I wash it which is about every 4 to 6 days. It's thick and curly and unruly with breakage and split ends. So I blow dry and flat iron it then I have to flat iron it every day in between because the curls and frizz come back pretty quickly. So since i go as long as possible between washes since I'm mending the damage I caused my hair as a teen and young adult and trying to grow my hair out things can get a bit greasy and flat towards the last day or two before I've finally had enough. It never looks greasy because my hair is extremely dry and thick and the super oily never gets past the roots but it definitely flattens my hair and weighs it down at this point. Well it was easy enough to put in my hair and on my roots. It took a bit of product to get it an inch or so down every bit of my roots so I felt like it was kind of wasteful since a little did not go a long way. I blow dried my hair like normal and flipped it upside down and just brought my roots straight up with a ceramic large round brush to help cement the volume and get it as high as possible. It actually weighed my hair down though and it got oily much quicker when I used this product. It literally didn't do a thing for my hair at all. Now maybe this would work for someone with really fine hair who wasn't using other products in conjunction. I don't know. But what I am sure of is that out of the few different times i used this with different tips and techniques that are supposed to give you the best results it never once worked for me. And because of that I can't recommend. The good things about it are all technical but it is part of the product so I counted it and rated it with these included. The packaging matches with the big, sexy hair motif of red and black with white lettering. It's very stylish and almost gives off a sexy vibe. The dispenser is like a lotion pump where you just push down and out comes the product and you continue that until you have your desired amount. It doesn't let too much or too little out so getting the right amount is simple and precise. It's a light weight gel type consistency. Not too heavy or too light. It's clear so it's great for all hair colors and types. It smells great. Very pretty, fresh and feminine. Also it has a great amount of product in it for the price so it will last a while. It also won't break the bank since its not super expensive and can usually be found at any big chain store so it's convenient.elizabeth.c

It's GLUED every hair in place for perfect styling and reliable HOLD. I PROMOTED THIS PRODUCT WHILE WORKING AT A LOCAL SALON THAT HAD A LICENSING DEAL WITH LOREAL AND I TOOK SO MUCH HWAT FOR PROMOTING A PRODUCT THAT WASNT LOREAL THAT MY BOSS SENT ME HOME WITH A GEL FROM THE LOREAL LINE THAT SHE CLAIMED WAS COMPARABLE TO "GOT TO BE GLUED" AND IT DIDNT EVEN COME CLOSE. My son has fairly thick straight hair, and no gel has ever been able to stay in it for any length of time. It's like they just fall right out by the time we get where we're going. This isu the only one that works for him! My husband has extremely thick coarse hair, and he stole it to use as well. It does stay in so well, that it needs washed out.KMS702

I was so tired of purchasing weak eyebrow gels that would never hold my brows the way I wanted until I saw Ashley Graham's tutorial and I just RAN to get this! This is such an easy product to find, I believe I paid around $6 for a huge tube that will last a life time and the way it works is just wonderful. My brows hold up the whole day and just always looks the way I want! I've heard great things about this as a styling gel as well (which is what it's for) but I personally have never tried it for my hair.dayana.g

I tried six different volumizers each for one week. This one is a favorite. I have fine, colored hair and a lot of it. It easily gets weighted down by products. Im also a southern girl that likes wine lift around the crown and taming ends. This product provides the lift and my hair still feels clean and light.HouTex

I bought this stuff on sale a year or so ago. I blow dry my hair every time I wash it which is about every 4 to 6 days. It's thick and curly and unruly with breakage and split ends. So I blow dry and flat iron it then I have to flat iron it every day in between because the curls and frizz come back pretty quickly. So since i go as long as possible between washes since I'm mending the damage I caused my hair as a teen and young adult and trying to grow my hair out things can get a bit greasy and flat towards the last day or two before I've finally had enough. It never looks greasy because my hair is extremely dry and thick and the super oily never gets past the roots but it definitely flattens my hair and weighs it down at this point. My stylist recommended this hair spray 20 years ago, and I've never switched since then. It lasts forever – one small bottle lasts me almost a year for my short hair! It doesn't leave a sticky residue, and I don't need to use clarifying shampoo. It's becoming harder to find in my community, though. Please don't stop making it!!redtopgirl

This is a great gel spray, which are hard to find these days. It's not very expensive and a little goes a long way. It definitely weighs my wavy hair down a bit, but does separate my curls and fights frizz. I use it after I've added a little gel or cream and it works best that way for my hair. I have used this hairspray for at least 25 years! It is THE best not only for finishing touch. I use for volume and working with my hair too. Just a couple pumps will do in my medium length hair. Then it brushes right out at night for soft hair again. I use the next day without having to rewash hair. Love it! But I can’t find it anywhere anymore! I don’t understand why!! Hubby Bought this gel the smallest size at his barber shop but it was $20 he then got the other size which is 30 something oz for $28. We really like this gel since its 0 alcohol. It doesn't damage the hair either. It works for my son too compared to the Gorilla Gel. Glad I found it here for a wayy better price.dsoto1994
