20 Best Hair Grease For Dandruff (Feb 2023 Update)

I like this oil… but I do find it a little outrageously priced compared to other argan oil treatments. Because of this, I only use it once in a while as a treat rather than daily. However, I do love that it comes in different sizes because I love the smaller ones for travel andor keeping in my gym bag. I usually just massage a dime size amount through my hair from my ears to the ends when wet and then it makes my hair very soft and silklike once dry. I just wish the smaller size bottles came with a pump because having to pour the oil into your palm makes portion control and messfree dispensing a hassle. I would consider this oil to be more heavy than lightweight, so you need to be cautious not to use too much product otherwise it will leave your hair looking and feeling greasy. I also wish it had some sort of heat protection element to it… for the price, I feel like I shouldnt have to use a separate heat protection product on top of the oil. The scent is nice and not too strong. It does make my hair feel healthier and stronger, but it could be better for reducing frizz. Overall its a good product, but I feel like there are other oils which are of equal or better quality for a fraction of the cost.Anonymous

I am pretty brand loyal when it comes to my haircare, but every now and again if a product is amazing enough from another line , I will cheat on my usual and dip into the other line for that product. This is one of them The Moroccan Oil Treatment oil, which I feel is their most popular product that lead the way for this brand I think lol yes it is expensive, yes I get it cheaper because I am a liscenced professional lol but, when it comes to these higher end hair products , usually,you get what you pay for. It is worth the expensive price tag. There are some expensive hair products that I feel are not worth it and are way too overpriced for what they actually do and I am always very honest in my reviews on hair care because I live and breathe hair , its my profession, its what I love and I love to help people achieve hair they love, so if that means being honest and saying hey this product isnt worth it or its crap OR hey , this is not a brand I retail at work BUT Ive used it and I love it and recommend it even if u need to buy it elsewhere and I dont really achieve much for myself, what I want to achieve is to educate people on hair hair products and what works for them . So I am always honest when clients ask me about Moroccan oil.. that no we dont carry it but it is something I love and use everyday.it gives my hair amazing shine, it makes it feel soft and silky and just glides on over those little split ends like they are there, it helps tame frizz and flyaways and its a treatment that actually is beneficial to your hair. The bottle is on the small side but a little goes a LONG way unless you want to look like you stuck your hair in some grease than by all means lol but seriously a tiny bit, rub in your palms and rub jtno your hair , focusing on the ends and midshaft scalp will just make u oily I have naturally curly hair that is prone to dryness, it gets frizzy , its thick. I use the regular Moroccan oil treatment but there is also a light for those with finer hair , more oily , sleek type ,thinner hair that this regular one might be a little heavy for. I also apply this to dry hairz over my midshaft and ends when I feel they could use a little TLC . If theyre looking a little dry maybe just a little bit of this run through it and it will make your hair feel all soft and loveable again. I like the smell, it isnt anything strong or overpowering. This is the only hair product I do use from Moroccan oil, I am sure they do have other good products but at that price point and already being happy with my current hair care routine, Ive never felt the need to try them and I feel that this product here is their Holy Grail so to speak, like the 1 amazing stand out product where they are at the top of their game. I really love using this stuff. I have for years. My original favorite was Chi Silk Infusions and I still like that stuff but I feel this does the job better. So basically youd use something like this for heat and uv protection as well as moisture and shine. Mostly I use it for getting some moisture back in my really parched, heat abused hair for a nice, healthy and naturally shiny look. Using products like that can go wrong really fast. You can cross the line into greasy mess from shiny tresses quick. You can do that with this too if you use too much but a lot of products do that no matter how little you use. This lasts forever because even with the thickest and driest hair needs only a dime size or less warmed between the palms and lightly rubbed through every layer from root to ends with finger tips open to get every strand focusing on the ends. Ive noticed that it gives me life back to my hair. It gives me that naturally healthy movement you just dont get with fried hair. With this and changing my hair habits I have come almost all the way back from totally broken hair to healthy hair thats a little dry and has split ends. And with my current issues it makes it look like I have none. Especially when I flat iron my hair with this as a heat protectant it almost seals the cuticle completely and keeps my hair looking super healthy until my next wash. I also use it randomly to add a touch of moisture back into my hair if its really dry. Or if my ends are getting bad between trims I use this and flat iron them to seal them and make them look healthy temporarily. It also smells amazing. I love the comforting and unique almost but not quite tropical scent. Its very unique and very feminine without being like a perfume. It makes my hair smell fresh and pretty and that scent lasts for a couple days. Overall it is a little expensive but it lasts a long time so it ends up costing almost the same as the drugstore over time because if does last so long. Its just more of an initial investment. A sephora employee told me this stuff actually is bad for your hair and dries it out but I dont think it would have gotten so famous if it wasnt so great for so many people. Maybe she just had a bad experience. It wouldnt have been the first time I had been given bad information by a Sephora employee but I just thought Id mention it. I totally recommend. But only buy from authorized retailers like salons or stores like sephora, macys, and other high end retailers or it will most likely be a fake.Anonymous

I took this jar out of the shipping container and read something on the label that shocked me! "Hair is flammable." There is a warning to stay away from sparks, flame, extreme heat, lit tobacco. In other words, if I had not read that label, I might have put it on my scalp and then turned on the stove burner and CAUGHT ON FIRE! I've been using this product for about 2 weeks now, and have seen a noticeable improvement. I apply the product at night before I go to bed, usually on nights when I plan to shampoo my hair in the morning. However, I have found that, even though it feels wet and greasy for quite awhile after I apply it, by morning, it's fully absorbed and I often don't feel like I actually need to shampoo it. I have straight, somewhat fine hair that does tend to get greasy and stringy looking with many products. For me, applying at night is key. I am not using it as often as directed – I only use it ~3 nights a week. However, after the first week, I've had significantly fewer flakes and am not nearly as itchy as I was previously. I'm not sure if my previous issues are the result of some skin condition, or if I just have a dry scalp from living in a cold, dry climate, but I've been happy so far with the result of the product.angmccall

I have been using this for two to three weeks and so far I like it. It is lightweight but effective. You can smell a 'slight' hint of sulfur with a bit of sweetness. I apply this at night before going to sleep and it does not bother me at all. This gives me a light cooling effect. It helps with my dry, itchy scalp. My only complaint is that the lid is not easy to take off so for someone with severe arthritis in their hands this will not be easy, hence four stars. The instructions say to put a small amount on your scalp 1 to 4 times daily. It did not say how to do that. So, after I washed my hair, I parted my hair way over by my left ear, dipped my fingers lightly on the top of the butter, and massaged it in on the part. I made another part less then an inch above that one and dipped my fingers lightly into the butter and massaged it into the part. I continued across my scalp all the way over to my right ear. I used a extremely small amount of butter, I could barely see it on my finger tips and if I could see it, I would scrape it off back into the jar. It looks like maybe I used way to much product but I don't know how that is possible. I do not think my scalp absorbed any of it, it all went into my hair. It feels dirty, I do not It like it. I will say that it did not hinder my hairs drying time at all, and it does give good volume. Right after I put it in, my hair was extremely frizzy, but when it finished drying it did calm down a lot. Even when I wash, I have dandruff that starts growing on my scalp. I decided to use this Sulfur 8 Scalp Therapy Butter Cream. I applied this cream to my dry scalp. It is solid but melts very easily onto my scalp. I doesn't leave any strong sensation on my scalp but it feels like a hair oil. I love the smell of this product. Since it is medicated, I expected it to have a medicinal smell but it has a pleasant slightly sweet scent to it. It is easy to apply and it's mess-free. This product sure does live up to its description and like the title describes it’s a medicated butter hair cream is the best way to describe it. It’s a creamy and light texture. As far as smell I don’t really care for it but it’s lightly scented. It seems to be highly effective at the start of use. This stuff is a miracle for my dry itchy scalp! I have curly hair and only wash my hair twice a week but by end of day 2 my scalp is so itchy I've tried so many thing but this! This stuff is awesome! The tingle!! It’s a bit to strong!! It last forever!! Ok 15 minutes top. You can definitely feel the menthol and eucalyptus oil working. I used this after I washed and conditioned my hair with the rest of mizani’s scalp care line. I highly suggest using this with wash days! Bought this and the conditioner about two months ago. And I use them both 2-3 times a week, every time I wash my hair. I would recommend neither. The products have parabens, and synthetic fragrance. The smell is perfume-y and not herbal at all. I haven’t noticed a reduction in itchiness or dryness either. Packaging is convenient and it does have a minimal cooling effect. This product worked really well! I tested it on my hair and it felt and smelled really good. The application was a breeze and the nozzle helped it getting directly to the scalp. I rinsed it out, but the roots of my hair felt clean, but straight. The texture at my roots felt different from the length of my hair after rinsing this product out. My hair felt almost waxy at the roots. I was under the impression that this could be used as a shampoo, but now I see it kind of like a “Dry Shampoo”. I believe it gets the job done but I’m not really sure. I wish they were more…descriptive? (For lack of a better word) about how to use this product. As a rinse, you’d think to rinse it out but the directions makes it seem you leave it in and rinse it out? Yeah…needs better instructions. I was so ecstatic when I received Royal Oils products especially when I seen what else it was infused with. The feelings subsided upon initial use of the product it does smell nice and the texture isn't sticky that's the reason for the 3 stars I've given it. This does smell like a campfire BBQ in a jar,lol! But it always grew out my hair with no problems.I add a bit of sulfur8 to the mix and this really does work quickly. I love this. My daughter's curls are 3a-c. Sometimes when doing my daughter's hair, especially when combing to braid up/or for braids, it can get very dry during the process. A little bit of this oil, not much at all, just a pea sized amount, helped tremendously! I will ALWAYS choose this over unnatural, synthetic, over fake fragranced oils! There are so many fake, silicone, paraben filled products, parabens are not good for you. I feel confident choosing this. I love this oil so much, I am leaving my other "moisture" brand. Usually when i braid my daughter's hair, she has an itchy scalp before the end of the night, even after using dandruff shampoo and leave in. So far she has had no itching for 24 hours. I suggest while braiding the hair, look for the flakey spots after washing well, then add dime sized amounts to the spot. Me? I added while combing, then added some over the braids. Braids can look dry sometimes, lackluster, and this oil I think would be great for that. I am caucasian, my daughter is biracial, and I have been doing her hair for 13 years. I know good product when I feel it. This is a great oil for braid days when you want to protect the hair and let that oil soak up! You gotta try it. I had a hair emergency….I was using head and shoulders for awhile for my dandruff and I was experiencing extreme fall out and scalp sores. It just hit me like IM BALDING okay so I had to do something different. I switched to jack black shampoo and conditioner which is great and using this as well. Very happy with the ingredients, texture and smell. I would not advise using this every day prior to styling your hair because it is mostly comprised of oil. It is going to be greasy so what I found effective is applying it with grow gorgeous hair density serum to the scalp. I mix them together and massage my scalp for a minute. Then I take about a nickel size of this oil by itself all the way down thru the rest of the hair brushing from scalp to tip. If you are curly or wavy you obviously can leave out the brushing part and rely on your hands to evenly distribute the product. I put it up in a bun overnight and wash in the morning. I do this twice a week the night before I wash and condition my hair. I do a double wash to ensure I rinse out all the oil. I learned the hard way the first time. I've only been doing this for a couple months but my hair feels and styles nicely afterward so I'll continue on. I have fine stranded medium to thick density hair. I've dreamed of a super thick pony but I'm thankful for having a lot of hair albeit baby fine.Product Lover

I have natural hair and really bad dandruff but now since using StopItt my dandruff has minimized. I ordered this off of amazon for about $12.00 but it came in a pack of 6 I believe (I dont really remember because I ordered it so long ago, but I do remember that it was cheap) the only down side about this product is that it’s so thick and white so it turns your hair white but after it’s all absorbed in it doesn’t weigh your hair down other than that I love it. I had a protective style in for about a week and hadn’t been moisturizing my hair or scalp like I should have. I thought I would try this product to help. Since this product has both aloe and the tea tree oil I knew it would also help cleanse. I used the nozzle to part my hair and place the product directly on my scalp. i'm caucasian with long hair and needed a product that would add moisture and shine to my hair so i gave it a try. it worked well! i put it on wet hair and let it sit for 24 hours. don't put on scalp unless your scalp is dry. it contains petroleum which has gotten a lot of bad press. there are 2 kinds of petroleum-cosmetic grade and "the rest" which can be impure. cosmetic grade petroleum is in our makeup, hair products and many more items. its ability to seal and protect skin and hair is amazing. make sure to wash this out of your hair using sulfate free shampoo (i make my own). i use this once a week. great product!jakeremi

Knocking off a point for the horribly designed bottle. Lol. Once you get down to half way it’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get out lol. I have been trying several different products for my girls cornrows/braids and between this AND the Cantù Sheen spray, I’ve found something that WORKS! I wanted to like this product 🥺. But unfortunately I don't. It feels good to the scalp and smells good to my nose. But I can't get it out of the bottle! I'm annoyed. I’m a 4a and Natural for 20 years. My hair loves Petroleum based oil products. My mini braids/twists always come out great. No residue or itch and my curl patterns pops. No problems washing my hair or using gel. I agree with the reviews that mention the design. I have to take the top off to get the product out. But this last mini braids set took me 7 hours and I figured out I could just stick my finger into the bottle neck and get enough to apply to a section of hair. But I’ll need to find something else to put it in. Overall I will be buying this again , hopefully in better packaging.MsRox

I was sent a free sample of this product in request for a review because I have ordered other derma-e products for my psoriasis. However my ability to thoroughly review this product is hindered by the fact that the scalp relief shampoo and conditioner I bought from here are so effective I haven't had a need for this scalp relief treatment. I've only had one day where my scalp was causing me any discomfort since I received this sample, but I did use this product then. It soothingly cooled everywhere sensitive, and then that faded into, well, nothing. That sounds bad but by nothing I mean no pain or irritation, so that's great. Honestly it get so good that I've started using the product on my other stubborn patches instead of my scalp. My ears have been hard to get to with light treatment and I figured they were close enough to my scalp so I tried that first. Then when that was so nice I decided to use it one day when my elbows were feeling dry, flaky, and painful from light treatment. Since then it's become my go to to fix psoriasis pain when a small area is kicking my booty. I cannot attest to whether this product can do anything to remove scales or patches over the long term, because I have only needed to use it for pain relief, but it is very good at that. When I used it in my hair it didn't really make it look dirty, which is good for a scalp treatment. And I was especially happy that it relieved pain even on areas of thicker skin like my elbows even though I only expected it to work on thin skin like the scalp.Angi

I started using this when I was on a heavy duty acne medication that made my whole body super dry. This made scalp hydration infinitely better, immediately stopped my dandruff struggles! I have bought a million scalp products and this one finally worked. I have a very dry, itchy scalp. I don't know what's in this that finally worked but I love it. The cooling effect is the best. I didn't even feel the need to use a scalp shampoo the morning after I put it on. I think I will use the scalp shampoo still though. It definitely relieves my scalp of the pain it goes thru as a product of my trich, I'm waiting to see how fast it'll make my hair grow and if it'll actually help me stop pulling all together. so far it's been good, we will see!jaccapie_0
