I love this. My daughter's curls are 3a-c. Sometimes when doing my daughter's hair, especially when combing to braid up/or for braids, it can get very dry during the process. A little bit of this oil, not much at all, just a pea sized amount, helped tremendously! I will ALWAYS choose this over unnatural, synthetic, over fake fragranced oils! Usually when i braid my daughter's hair, she has an itchy scalp before the end of the night, even after using dandruff shampoo and leave in. So far she has had no itching for 24 hours. I suggest while braiding the hair, look for the flakey spots after washing well, then add dime sized amounts to the spot. Me? I added while combing, then added some over the braids. Braids can look dry sometimes, lackluster, and this oil I think would be great for that. I am caucasian, my daughter is biracial, and I have been doing her hair for 13 years. Very happy with the ingredients, texture and smell. I would not advise using this every day prior to styling your hair because it is mostly comprised of oil. It is going to be greasy so what I found effective is applying it with grow gorgeous hair density serum to the scalp. I mix them together and massage my scalp for a minute. Then I take about a nickel size of this oil by itself all the way down thru the rest of the hair brushing from scalp to tip. If you are curly or wavy you obviously can leave out the brushing part and rely on your hands to evenly distribute the product. I put it up in a bun overnight and wash in the morning. I do this twice a week the night before I wash and condition my hair. I do a double wash to ensure I rinse out all the oil. I learned the hard way the first time. I've only been doing this for a couple months but my hair feels and styles nicely afterward so I'll continue on. I have fine stranded medium to thick density hair. I've had an issue with dry/itchy scalp after moving to a state that got cold and dry from Oct to Mar. I've been after a scalp pre-treatment and after discovering this company last year I finally decided to invest more in their products. I used this 10 minutes before I hopped into the shower. It rinsed out nicely and I will say that I noticed a difference right away. I typically have a bunch of flakes after my hair dries but I didn't have any…at all. It's witchcraft. I have been using this for two to three weeks and so far I like it. It is lightweight but effective. You can smell a 'slight' hint of sulfur with a bit of sweetness. I apply this at night before going to sleep and it does not bother me at all. This gives me a light cooling effect. It helps with my dry, itchy scalp. My only complaint is that the lid is not easy to take off so for someone with severe arthritis in their hands this will not be easy, hence four stars. i'm caucasian with long hair and needed a product that would add moisture and shine to my hair so i gave it a try. it worked well! i put it on wet hair and let it sit for 24 hours. don't put on scalp unless your scalp is dry. it contains petroleum which has gotten a lot of bad press. there are 2 kinds of petroleum-cosmetic grade and "the rest" which can be impure. cosmetic grade petroleum is in our makeup, hair products and many more items. its ability to seal and protect skin and hair is amazing. make sure to wash this out of your hair using sulfate free shampoo (i make my own). i use this once a week. great product!jakeremi

Although I love making my own oil mixtures to promote healthy scalp and assist with hair growth, I love this oil. The price is awesome and one bottle normally lasts me about a month or two. It smells soooo good and I love how lightweight the formula is. I have ultra sensitive skin and scalp and this oil does not irritate me or make my scalp itch as with some other oils. There is very minimal build up from this product. It makes your hair shine look super healthy when it is applied to your scalp. When I straighten my hair I love to apply this to my scalp and brush through my hair as I wrap it at night. By the morning there is no frizz, my hair has a bunch of shine and no oily residue left behind and doesn't weigh my hair down. When my hair is in its natural curly/coily state I like to apply to damp or dry hair and massage it into my scalp for about 5-10 minutes. I love this. My daughter's curls are 3a-c. Sometimes when doing my daughter's hair, especially when combing to braid up/or for braids, it can get very dry during the process. A little bit of this oil, not much at all, just a pea sized amount, helped tremendously! I will ALWAYS choose this over unnatural, synthetic, over fake fragranced oils! There are so many fake, silicone, paraben filled products, parabens are not good for you. I feel confident choosing this. I love this oil so much, I am leaving my other "moisture" brand. Usually when i braid my daughter's hair, she has an itchy scalp before the end of the night, even after using dandruff shampoo and leave in. So far she has had no itching for 24 hours. I suggest while braiding the hair, look for the flakey spots after washing well, then add dime sized amounts to the spot. Me? I added while combing, then added some over the braids. Braids can look dry sometimes, lackluster, and this oil I think would be great for that. I am caucasian, my daughter is biracial, and I have been doing her hair for 13 years. I know good product when I feel it. This is a great oil for braid days when you want to protect the hair and let that oil soak up! You gotta try it. For a washngo apply your leave in, gel/cream, air dry, then add this oil with praying hands to fight humidity!Brrr
I had a hair emergency….I was using head and shoulders for awhile for my dandruff and I was experiencing extreme fall out and scalp sores. It just hit me like IM BALDING okay so I had to do something different. I switched to jack black shampoo and conditioner which is great and using this as well. I notice a huge difference in just 2-3 months no more sores and its filling out too you can see tiny hairs just sticking up and it looks crazy but I know its new growth so I am beyond happy. Very happy with the ingredients, texture and smell. I would not advise using this every day prior to styling your hair because it is mostly comprised of oil. It is going to be greasy so what I found effective is applying it with grow gorgeous hair density serum to the scalp. I mix them together and massage my scalp for a minute. Then I take about a nickel size of this oil by itself all the way down thru the rest of the hair brushing from scalp to tip. If you are curly or wavy you obviously can leave out the brushing part and rely on your hands to evenly distribute the product. I put it up in a bun overnight and wash in the morning. I do this twice a week the night before I wash and condition my hair. I do a double wash to ensure I rinse out all the oil. I learned the hard way the first time. I've only been doing this for a couple months but my hair feels and styles nicely afterward so I'll continue on. I have fine stranded medium to thick density hair. I've dreamed of a super thick pony but I'm thankful for having a lot of hair albeit baby fine.Product Lover

Very weak, I was expecting a higher concentration since it say's 100% peppermint oil. I used other 100% extracts before and I know how intense they are supposed to be. This one is already diluted from 100% oil to directly apply to hair (you wouldn't be able to walk around with the concentrate one as it truly burns your skin). So, needs a little bit more accuracy in the product labelling: Made from 100% pure peppermint oil, but not 100% in the bottle.Alan
It smells lovely and I hope that it improves hair growth, but it makes hair very oily and look heavy and greasy, so I suggest keeping it in overnight and wearing a cap to not stain the pillow then showering it out, or using it as a leave-in treatment for a few hours before washing hair before bed. I have always been in oily hair oily skinned person and I always straight away from using oils. But over the last two years I’ve learned how much I actually need them. My hair started thinning a few months back in as somebody who has always had very long hair, past my back. It was hard for me and my insecurities start growing from this issue. I went looking for information and learned a-lot, I asked my doctor for advice also. We think it happened because of a medication I was taking for my heart rate. So I stopped taking it and am now taking something else that doesn’t cause hair loss. I have been using them once a day and the night before I Shower I put a-lot more in to sit overnight before washing out. In the instructions of how to use this oil, it says to work it though hair after a blowout. Very often, I blow out my hair with the Dyson Airwrap round brush and self-grip rollers. Self-grip rollers have a tendency to pull at the hair and break off small strands. I definitely think this oil is great at smoothing those strands after the blow out. You don’t even have to use a full pump for the oil to do that job. With either 1 full pump or less, the oil smooths the hair without ruining the blow out or making it greasy. My hair gets greasy QUICKLY after washing, so I really enjoy that I can use this oil for blow outs & it doesn’t affect the time in which my hair usually starts getting greasy. Also in the instructions, it says you can use this oil in your hair before washing. I’ve done this a handful of times now. I find the oil dries down in a fair amount of time, so I like that I can douse my hair with multiple pumps, put it in a pony tail, and after about an hour, it looks normal enough to do do things that I don’t have to look really impressive for (ex: errands). However, I notice when I completely oiling my hair up with this, it’s rather drying in comparison to other oils. For instance, I also use the Shea Moisture 100% Argan Oil, which is much cheaper, and it gives my hair that smooth oily feel that I aim for prior to washing. With this oil, I find that myself going back and re-oiling my hair due to the dry feeling. Again, I’ve only used it as a prewash a handful of times, so I have NOT noticed yet that the dryness is a lasting affect after I wash. I haven’t tried this yet on wet hair. Overall, it’s great for blow outs since a small pump goes far and it is light weight. When using larger amounts, I notice the hair feels more than dry than oily, and I worry this will eventually affect the dryness of my hair. I feel that I can find a cheaper oil to smooth my hair after blowing it out.PastaPrincess69
This was so extremely disappointing, I even tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and used up the entire thing before giving my review. I honestly love so many Ouai hair products, their detox shampoo and scalp scrub are some of my absolute favorites! Unfortunately this was such a dud, I honestly cannot believe how many positive reviews this has received. First thing, the smell is atrocious. I like nice smelling products, and even if its unscented or a mild scent I usually don't mind but THIS! I could not get over the scent, its a very woody/herb/patchouli scent and its STRONG. Next issue I had with this is that it didn't really hydrate my hair, if anything it felt more dry after, it didn't really absorb and just sat on the hair looking wet/oily. Some hair oils I love for example are the Olaplex and Gisou hair oils!hailey.p
i got this in a free gift set of a lot of minis & samples and i didnt expect much from it at all; i have used many different hair oils before and never really "clicked" with any of them. i also didn't expect to even remember half the items i got in this sample kit because there were so many. this stood out enough for me to take a picture of the little sachet before throwing it out. i thought i accidentally used too much but even with me using a lot it didn't weigh my hair down at all. in fact it actually gave me more volume, somehow, and my hair usually gets flat & greasy quite quickly. it smells so nice and the scent is subtle but lingers all day. it made my hair look so glossy & thick. i will definitely be purchasing the full size soon.aj

I've had Chronic Telogen Effluvium for the past 4 years, which basically results in very heavy hair shedding. This stuff helped fill my hair back out when it was noticeably thinning and then maintain a full head of hair the entire time. It's obviously a product that will work for some people and not as much for others, but it's certainly worth a shot. I love the 2%…I did try 5% first at the advice of a dermatologist and I was so sensitive to it that it actually made the peach fuzz on my face far worse (despite the fact I'm careful not to get it on my face). Switching to the 2% fixed that issue, and the liquid is far easier to use than the foam if you have long hair…you just have to be careful to lean your head back a bit so it doesn't run down your face. It doesn't really leave a residue. I only use it once a day and that's enough for me at the point.Madeline
I am a 29-year-old woman who suffered from a receding hairline since birth. As a result I have almost always used some kind of extensions to cover the issue which resulted in traction alopecia and worsened the issue. My hairline was behind my ears by my early 20s. I started wearing wigs to cover it and the hair loss didnt worsen but the hair never grew back. Im talking receded hairline on both sides all the way back behind my ears! For nearly ten years!!! Imagine the damage to my confidence. Meanwhile the rest of my hair grew long but I always cut it since I could never wear it out. 🙁 In January 2020, I was speaking to a doctor about scheduling my hair transplant for the spring (it would cost upwards of $10,000). Boom the global pandemic happened and I lost my high-paying job and the clinic was temporarily closed anyway. Fast forward to November 2020, I gave away all my new wigs and threw out the old because I couldnt take it anymore. I'm tired of living a lie! I wear satin lined scarves now and figured I would finally try Minoxidil because what the heck do I have to lose! I did it faithfully night and day for just one month and……hair is growing all over on my balder hairline! Ten years of shame and suffering! I could've used this all along! I know that you have to wait at least 4-6 months to observe if its working but its working! Even my mother noticed without me saying anything. I cant believe it is working and so quickly! This is a really well-priced alternative to the big name-brands out there charging two or three times the price. In terms of ingredients (active and otherwise), they seem to share the vast majority of them, and after using various over the years, this seems to work pretty much the same. So, in terms of lower cost while still providing a relatively high quality, this is a good product in comparison to market competitors. But, do keep in mind, minodzidil overall is not a miracle drug, and doesn’t really do too much for a lot of people. Personally, after a few yesrs of use, it seems to really only keep my hair relatively thick, but unable to do much in saving my front hairline and crown balding. That is just simply a part of aging as male and cannot be avoided for most men— unless you expect to not have any testosterone conversion within your body! So, the bottom line is, if you want minoxidil in a foam form that is less agitating for the skin than the liquid form, then this is a fantastic product to purchase. But just keep in mind this “medications” unfortunate and concrete limitations.Zach
