If you like to play with your hair during the day, constantly waving you fingers through your hair, then this is Not for you, you need a Waxy one, like the Pink or Green on from this brand. Water based Pomade gets hard like Gel, but it does a 500% better job than Gel, no Gel competes with any Water based Pomade. Water based Pomade also rinses or washes out completely very easy. Waxy pomade comes out using excessive Conditioner, put it on without water and let sit a minute. I've tried many brands and others are good also, but this brand is better than any other I tried. I liked the styling clay but wanted a bit more hold. This pomade does that. It doesn't have as prominent of a mint smell as the clay, which is too bad, but it doesn't smell bad either (it smells basically like nothing). It dries more stiffly than the clay pomade and leaves the hair feeling like it has product in it (kind of hard and crackly to the touch). The clay pomade left my hair feeling softer and less like it had product in it. So I know these products are mostly geared towards men but as a female they work wonders too . I recently had to completely GI Jane my hair due to horrible bleach damage and hair falling out in clumps . So now it’s grown back and I can do a kinda faux hawk look with this stuff . Over lockdown I grew my hair out like a lot of people and decided to go to for a traditional barber cut afterwards ending up with a slick back style. I found my existing hair products a bit lacking so decided to look into getting more professional (if you will) products. After some research I liked the look of Uppercut's products and also their brand ideals and after browsing their site settled on the Matte Pomade. Now that I've been using it for a while and figured out the best amount and application for my hair I'm really pleased with it. It's light and not too shiny giving my hair a natural look which I really like. It also washes out well with water meaning I don't have to put my hair through shampooing every day but still working without making my hair greasy or limp a couple of days after shampooing. I do find I need to hold the sides with some hairspray but that could be down to my hair or inexperience in styling longer hair (any plans for adding hairspray to your range?). Just on a side note, I was sent a really handy little guide with the product that gave scores out of 10 for hold and shine for all the styling products which was much more helpful than the info on the site in my opinion. Seems quite effective in adding volume for men with a finer hair type and looking for a product that does that. Could be re-applied intra-day if desired or needed, as it is to be applied to dry hair rather than wet. I would say this also means it doesn't really combine or work very well if you try to add it after using another styling product (say you wanting it just to add more volume for example). It functions more as a standalone product from what I've found. Because it has a less firm hold it should work well for those after something to allow a looser natural-looking style and adding volume at the same time, less so for those who want a style that needs a more controlled styling product with a firmer hold to pull off.Luke

Pretty sure I already reviewed this… But Ill give it another try. The product is fine. Good hold. Only problem is that its maybe a little greasy. My trouble was with the delivery and the tin itself. The box was oversized and there wasnt enough packing. The tin arrived with several dents, and actually has a small puncture. Doubtful that the hole happened during shipping.Anonymous
Great product. Soft and easy to spread through the hair. Have had many hair products and have found this to be the best by far. I put it in dry hair and it shapes it really well and has a good hold. It smells like an aerobar, which I loved at first, but can tend to be overpowering sometimes. It let off a good aroma in the car when you have it on. Leaves the smell on your pillow as well. As a lover of vintage fashion, I'd heard many good things about this pomade, but having fine, wavy hair made sculpted styles nearly impossible. I think I may have a bad batch. It's basically a solid bar of soap. Nothing like the video. There's no way to remove a dab. I have to pull the whole puck out of the can and lather it up in my hands with a little water like I'm washing my hands, then drop the block back in the can. Although hard to apply, it's is a great pomade! Holds up to the Texas heat and humidity. It will get a little crunchy towards the end of the day, but it's not bad. Suavecito is the best smelling pomade hands down. I use this particularly for work and it holds well all day. I have a gentleman’s cut combover and makes my cut look 10/10. This doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it seem thin and greasy. I alternate between a few pomades that I find occasion fitting. High shine, extra hold, a lot of sun or possible rain, certain pomades hold different and there’s one for all occasions. The consistency on the “light hold” is definitely “lighter” than the traditional suavecito which is fine and what I wanted. I didn’t want a hard hold and this is soft to medium hold. This is my first foray into pomades, and I was braced for something between a hair oil and the crunchy gels of the 80s. I was pleasantly surprised to find Cremo delivered something far better. This pomade is a solid hold, especially when worked through do hair, and it holds for 24 hours, if not longer. I've been able to mist water on my hair and comb it back into place after sleeping for a second day's hold. It doesn't have a strong smell, which is great — nothing to compete with my aftershave and cologne. I have 3a/b curly hair, ringlets with big volume and I thought I'd never be able to wear my hair straight without using a straightener religiously. And with this product alone, I can wear my hair slicked back and mostly straight in a Peaky Blinders cut. That's the kind of hold Cremo delivers, and I'm a convert for life. I recently received this Cremo Thickening Styling Paste #freeproduct from #trywithtopbox to try in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time my fiancé is trying a styling paste, he usually uses hair glue for his hair. He found that the product was easy to use and work into his hair. The texture of the paste is really soft and not at all sticky or tacky. It however does not have as much hold as his usual hair glue. He actually has pretty thick hair to begin with so he couldn't tell if there was a thickening effect. However, he said he really loved the scent of product. Most hair styling products he has tried usually smells waxy or has a overwhelming perfumy scent. This one smells like an old fashioned barber shop. Honestly, I love this stuff for the smell alone. But the fact that it works so well to style short hair is a great benefit that has me coming back regardless of the price. I don't tend to use much – just enough to keep the bedhead under control and maybe swoosh the bangs. My first jar lasted me 5 months. I find using just a small smear of this plus a dab of water to help spread on towel dried hair works best; my hair is dirty blond speckled with white. Once hair gets longer than about an inch and a half, it tends to be much less effective for styling and will help with just keeping everything lying down. Washes out easily (smells great even when removing) and has not caused my sensitive skin to break-out.
I have been a user of the red DAX wax for many many years and have tried so many different hair products and have always gone back to DAX because it seems to be the best hold for my hair. But, I live in Dubai and during the summer months temperatures can reach 50c so DAX being a wax gets very soft in the heat. I tried using gels but because my hair has a slight curl to it the gel doesnt pull and hold my hair straight like DAX does. Another problem with DAX, being petroleum based they have recently changed the smell of it so its starting to smell like engine oil So, I have hunted high and low for a water based product that stays firm in the heat, washes out easily and also one that smells great….. FINALLY… for me.. a product that does what it says on the tin This really is like putting wax in your hair, with the same hold as gel…. and washes out easily. My only tip is to make sure your hair is almost dry and it works better then probably not getting watered down. I have started to grow my hair during lockdown to try and achieve a nice man bun but as we all know we need to go through the ugly stage. I cut my hair in a way that I have an undercut comb over while growing my hair and needed something to hold my hair in place.I tried many regular products from supermarkets and they were bad. I have read many reviews and most love this product, so I thought I give it a try. Like others I have tried many different products and most of those products just were not good enough. I had high hopes for claymation. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. I have medium long, thick, Asian hair. The hold is just not good enough. It is not super high hold. If you are looking for high hold I would suggest Revlon Style Masters Creator Matt Clay. The product does give good texture and volume. Or you could use this product and use a bit of hair spray for the hold. In my opinion this product is overrated and way too expensive. There are many products cheaper that can achieve basically the same results as claymation. Save your money and get something else. It is not the holy grail, which I thought it was due to all the reviews. I guess they don't have thick hair.Eddy

I think I've found it, the perfect product, finally after years of different products and varying results!! I have thick curly dark hair…but not the nice kind of wavy models kind of hair or the stylish afro tight curls. Mine is literally all over the place! Some bits curl one way then other bits curl in a completely different direction with random kinks and flicks that literally do my head in. I've gone through a plethora of products; fibres that seem to leave tiny visible blobs in my hair that look like dandruff, clays that work for all of about 20minutes and then my hair muscles through, gels that make my hair look slick and crusty and wax's that do the job but make it look greasy and take a week to wash out. Claymation is a stiff clay that tames and holds my hair where I want it all day. It looks matte and dry and smells of nothing. I can re-work it a little during the day if I need to and even by the end of the day it's good enough to mess around. I've even made my hair stand straight up like a mohawk (just messing about) after it's been on my hair for over 12 hours! I think this is a good product. It gives a good hold, is relatively easy to apply and leaves hair feeling and looking quite natural. Hair is also easily reworkable. I find I have to apply quite a lot to get the desired hold so I will be looking for another product, but my hair is very thick and I think that is the problem.

Using the pomade: The product is good at taming flyaways for a slicked-back hairstyle, without the crusty feel. It does initially leave a slightly greasy appearance to your hair but that seems to go away as the product sets in. I advise melting it a bit on the back of your hand first as the pomade is quite firm. Also, don’t be put off by the colour as it brushes in clear. Pomade scent: Not a bad scent in my opinion, however I think it is far too strong. When I buy a pomade it is to style my hair with, not to add a smell to my hair. I don’t want to smell it over my shampoo and conditioner, and I certainly don’t want to smell it over my perfume as I can with this. Due to the fragrance I won’t be buying this again and I probably won’t even finish the pot I purchased. Now that I have a short lob, all I use is a thickening spray and styling creme (with heat protectant) when my hair is wet and then I use a very small amount of this pomade after I curl my hair. This pomade gives me that piecey look for an effortlessly undone look. After my hair is dry it takes 5 min to curl and run this into my hair and I’m ready to go. I don’t even need a texturizing spray or hair spray when I use this pomade. I rub a small amount in between my fingers before rubbing it onto my ends or other areas where I want texture, hold, and a piecey look. I tried salt sprays, texturizing sprays, and many other products before finally landing on this stuff and it makes my mornings so much easier. I like this product. I've been using it for a while. It definitely has a good hold on your hair without making it look like there's anything in your hair. I would recommend maybe adding some natural ingredients to make it smell a little better, if possible. Also, I don't know who did the wrapping, but filling up the entire box with confetti paper for a small container of this cream pomade was not the move. If it's like an environmentally friendly thing, I get it, but find a new option. This rich yet lightweight cream spreads easily and provides a light hold with low shine as described. Its aroma is quite similar to Fiber and its performance is what I would imagine a light gold version of that product to be. This would be great for medium to coarse hair in short styles that seek natural control without the need for major sculpting or manipulating.
