I actually really like this conditioner. The first time I bought it, I didn't. I decided to give it another try and k actually really like it. I use it as a rinse out and when I "squish to condish". I feel more comfortable using this for squish to condish rather than a normal rinse out conditioner because those are not meant to be left in the hair and this one is. I do rinse this out though. I really wanted to love this product and I did in the first month of using it. I applied it in the shower and brushed through it really easily, it helped revive my waves, and I really liked the smell. Unfortunately after about a month of use I started noticing really bad dandruff at the front of my hairline, big dandruff flakes, and the nape of my neck was itch. Then I started getting this weird buildup on my hair after the shower. My hair just felt really tacky, when I tried to brush through it, it got tangled immediately because it was sticking to itself, I even noticed some white buildup on my brush. So the next time, I washed the brush, washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, and made sure to wash out the conditioner well…really well. And it still left this really sticky gross buildup on my hair. It was almost impossible to even run my fingers through. I shampooed my hair twice with a clarifying shampoo and went back to one of my old conditioners and my hair is pretty much back to normal. There is still maybe one part that is still a little sticky/tacky so I'll have to wash it again. Maybe this works for some people, it just didn't work for me. I really like Not Your Mother's products but this particular one didn't quite make the cut. I love how they are free of alcohol, silicones, phthalates, sulfates and dyes. This can be used as a leave in conditioner, rinse out or just as a co-wash. It does enhance my curls and give some definition but my hair is so oily the next day, I have to wash it. I really wanted to like this product! I was excited to try it, It smells greattt! But I naturally have super thick/long hair and it did not do a good job of making my hair feel clean. My hair still felt dirty, greasy and itchy when I got out of the shower. It also produces very little suds, which is something I need a lot of to properly clean my thick hair. Since it’s close to summer I wanted to stop styling my hair and instead start wearing it natural (in the summer it’s just way too hot to style my thick hair and the humidity makes it not last anyways!). This range is Rich in fatty acids and vitamins, I always want products that have a lot to offer. The formula has a high percentage of biodegradable ingredients. I like this conditioner. Leaves my hair feeling very soft and smooth. I don’t have extremely curly hair but it does define my waves to make them appear more curlier. I however don’t think the price and the amount you get is justifiable since other products of this same size go for $8-10. If it was $10 cheaper than I’d give 5 stars. But $20 for both shampoo and conditioner adds up and almost seems a bit steep for something that doesn’t exactly do anything differently than other products I’ve used. Thankfully I’ve got shorter hair so I don’t ever feel like I’m using a lot of this product. I got the Husk curl care detangling conditioner and it left my hair easy to manage. The consistency of the conditioner was just right. Not too thick but not too runny. It applied well and evenly to my hair. The conditioner coated the strands and wasn't messy. I usually let conditioner sit on my hair with a plastic cap for 10-20 minutes. I was able to comb through my hair with minimal tangles and the small ones I had were easy to get through. My hair felt soft and moisturized. This is hands down the best curly hair gel on the market. I use 2-3 pumps for my whole head and scrunch it in after applying a leave in conditioner to very wet hair. It starts by drying hard but then as the day goes on, your hair looks and feels so soft and the curls are still in place. If i’m looking for a stronger hold because of a slick-back ponytail or something, I usually opt for a stronger gel like Not Your Mother’s. Feels just like snot!! And gets the job DONE! So just so that you know, I’m a lazy 4C natural. Meaning I do bare minimum to maintain a few strands of hair on my non-chemically treated hair. I literally do not use styling products, partially out of laziness but even more so out of fear of breakage and dryness etc. I took a chance, and for the first tome in years, I tried a styling product, and this was it. It’s a gel with the exact consistency of snot. First wash your hair, condition, leave in condition or whatever, and then while your hair is still soaking wet, apply a GENEROUS amount. Finger detangle/shingle/whatever you to that usually gets a little more definition in your hair and boom. Soft not crunchy curls. Such an amazing hold without feeling like your hair is going to fall out. No flaking. This is my new favorite hair product. As someone with a lot of hair, but very fine hair, it’s hard to find a product that doesn’t weigh me down- this allows for my hair to have shape and volume that lasts. The best results I’ve had came from using a denman brush to curl my hair, smoothing the roots over once. This method achieved beautiful formed waves for three days after. Verb is much less expensive than other curl products I’ve tried and it out performs all of them. I would highly recommend this to anyone with loose curls or waves, especially those with fine frizz prone hair like me. For reference I use this after I wash my hair with a kevin murphy cowash. Wow, I love this! I was hesitant because I see a lot of influencers use it and I always worry that that over hype things. But it really does reduce frizz and hold curl. A little goes a very long way, so it is easy to overdo it. My hair is 2C/3A and I live in a pretty dry climate and this was the perfect balance. I will say it did seem to "weigh down" my hair a bit more than other products, however, I'll take slightly less volume to have non-frizzy and light curls. I love Verb products. This one was new to me, but I had to try it. Glad I did! My tired, frizzy, permed curls were dying quickly. I needed a pick- me- up for them and this did the trick. A little, tiny bit goes a long way – all of Verb is like this. I love that because the product lasts, which means I'm not spending a fortune on hair, but getting a good, quality product. This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. I don’t need a huge amount of it to get my hair untangled, and when I do brush through it I barely have any tangles at all. I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet. There’s no cast to scrunch out. The pump is also really hard to use and only dispenses like a dime size of product with each pump, which means I need to pump twice just to get enough for one section of hair. It is very hydrating, so I can’t knock it down too much, but it is probably my least favorite ouidad product, which is saying a lot because I LOVE ouidad. I’m giving curl quencher gel four stars because it’s definitely an improvement over the heat and humidity climate control gel which used to be my all time favorite go-to product until the formula was changed and it became a huge disappointment. Since I’m wearing my hair longer than ever before my curls need a strong gel that will keep them from getting frizzy. Curl quencher gel works pretty well, but it doesn’t give me that wet look or crunch that some gels create when they dry. (I actually liked that crunch because it held my curls in complete control.) My curls stay defined throughout the day and even the next day with the use of a satin sleep cap. I’m grateful for this product since my 17 year love affair with heat and humidity gel had to end when the formula changed.Pamela D.

I've been using this brand for a few years. Recently I tried a cheaper brand but it was not the same. I am 60 years and my hair has become coarse. Also, I use henna on my hair which tends to dry it a little on the ends. My hair is very long so the ends get dry and brittle. I use this hair cream on the bottom half of my hair. Its nothing like the old product and there was picture of the same brown bottle for which I have purchased from Sally's before not Walmart. I was expecting to see the brown bottle. It appears that the picture on the website wasn't updated on Walmart Site . I was charged for the price of the size of that brown bottle not the product that was sent in a different bottle and of a smaller size containing a lesser amount from the same company. I opened the shampoo, and the smell of refreshing coconuts filled up my bathroom. I received the L'Oréal Ever dandruff shampoo, conditioner and micro scrub complementary from Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes. I started using the products a week ago and wanted to give it a great test before reviewing and I honestly have to say this is the BEST shampoo, conditioner I've ever used for dandruff!!! I have tried many other brands and this one really done the job. I had never used a micro scrub before and I honestly think that it helps better to use it before shampooing and using your conditioner. I just use a very small amount like directions advised, worked it into my wet hair, scrunched it with my hands and let air dry. My hair is sooo soft, no frizz and my curls are defined. I found this product yearssss ago when I first started the Curly Girl Method. It was very runny, white and much lighter. I ended up repurchasing it and when I opened it, it is incredibly yellow and thick and the ingredient list is completely different. I use this daily on my curly hair. It doesn't leave my hair greasy feeling or looking like some of the other products I've used over the years, and I like the light coconut scent. As others have commented, it is a thick product and difficult to get out of the bottle, but my solution for that is to use a pump top from another product (like Mrs. Meyers hand soap) cut to the length needed for the SheaMoisture bottle. I save the screw-on top and use it toward the end of the bottle when the pump won't get out the last bit. Then I turn the bottle upside down, and when that doesn't work any more, I get a plastic knife and scrape the rest out. It's too good to leave any behind!!Barbara C.

Anybody with type 4 hair please buy this. I used this for the first time with the curl souffle and my only gripe is that I didn't try this a lot sooner. Super moisturising and lush on the hair. Gorgeous. My hair feels completely nourished and this is just on the first use. I would recommend if you are a thick type 4 you be quite generous when you use it because a fair amount works a long way if you are a tighter texture.Anna

I like this conditioner. Leaves my hair feeling very soft and smooth. I don’t have extremely curly hair but it does define my waves to make them appear more curlier. I however don’t think the price and the amount you get is justifiable since other products of this same size go for $8-10. If it was $10 cheaper than I’d give 5 stars. But $20 for both shampoo and conditioner adds up and almost seems a bit steep for something that doesn’t exactly do anything differently than other products I’ve used. Thankfully I’ve got shorter hair so I don’t ever feel like I’m using a lot of this product. But I’d recommend it to someone who isn’t worried about spending an extra $10 for something that does what Shea Moisture does.Cindy R
I have funny curls – my hair grows in almost straight, but then waves, and once a year I get an all over perm. I've tried almost literally everything. It seems I no sooner find a product line I like, and my hair no longer likes it. However, I noticed from the get-go that my hair felt amazing with all of the Rizo's products. I don't blow dry nor do I dye my hair. I use hair creams and sometime flexible styling hair sprays not related to this brand. With that said, with this shampoo I sometimes have to lather twice to really feel like I fully removed any hair products, other than that, this shampoo does lather well & has a soft smell to it. It's winter here at the moment and this shampoo is not helping with my winter dandruff, which it's okay, I scalp detox once a week & that helps for a while, not this brand either, but I'm mentioning it incase you think it helps moisturize your scalp. As for conditioner, I use a different brand too & thanks because I like how my conditioner defines my curls but unfortunately this other brand conditioner does not add volume, niece I'm done with what I have, I'll try the conditioner for Ouidad.Discovering curly hair products
This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet. There’s no cast to scrunch out. The pump is also really hard to use and only dispenses like a dime size of product with each pump, which means I need to pump twice just to get enough for one section of hair. It is very hydrating, so I can’t knock it down too much, but it is probably my least favorite ouidad product, which is saying a lot because I LOVE ouidad. I have curly, frizzy extremely dehydrated hair. First of all, this conditioner smells like a a coconut punch to your nose. If you dislike fragrance, this will not suit you. If you hate coconut, smelling this will make you faint. I do not mind gentle coconut smell, but this perfume is too strong. However, I got used to the smell over time, so now I no longer notice it. The performance, however, is nothing special. I noticed that my hair became even more frizzy than before, and not moisturized at all. The dispenser is horrible. The dispenser hole is extremely small, and I must exercise in order to get a good amount of product in my hand. Do not try taking out the dispenser, because the product is like a clump of clay and will not exit the bottle without the dispenser. Just use the pump until you give up. In conclusion, I will finish this product, but I will not purchase it again.iHerb Customer

I always use leave in conditioner but that day I had to use double the amount of what I normally use. Otherwise my hair felt & looked dry & frizzy. The product definitely did help with detangling my hair, not totally, but to a great enough degree where I was pleased. I didn’t notice any improvement in shine though. I was hoping to experience much more of an overall difference from all the various products I have used in the past. No huge noticeable difference, and more expensive than what I currently use. Thankful to have found and purchased this amazing shampoo. My desire to nourish and manage my natural 4C porosity hair came with a challenge. However, I remembered, that I purchased this shampoo and matching hair masque. However, for the information on Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, the page is unavailable. My budget is tight at the moment, but I usually save up for what I need. I need the Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque. Therefore, to increase the benefits to my damaged hair I gathered a portion of the Curl and Shine Hair Masque and combined it with a hint of tea tree oil, fresh rosemary water, rose water, and peppermint oil. Leaving in my hair for 30 minutes. My hair texture is incredibly moist. I shall continue this mixture until I am able to locate and purchase the High Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, which I already know is perfect for the restoration of my hair. The chemical perm greatly damaged my hair, thinned my hair, and broke my hair off in places. So I really enjoyed using the product on both my baby girl and my own hair. Because we have very very different hair types, I noticed some important things. She has a healthy head of very fine, very varied coil curls. The shampoo worked great on very wet hair, it lathered well for a clarifying shampoo without turning her hair into dry grass. I rinsed twice to make sure the water ran well and clear. The conditioner was light and moisturizing, as promoted. I took the time to work it into all strands while damp to slightly wet with a curly hair wet brush. Afterward rinsing the conditioner lightly, I put in the styling cream. Here I realized I'd put in way too much, but the effect was still very good. Her curls were less prone to tangling, moisturized and made beautiful defined coils. My hair is fine but wavy, not curly. However my hair is super dry. I like using heavily moisturizing products from time to time to feed my hair. The products were too heavy for fine straighter hair, but it really moisturized heavily. My hair has a healthy strong feel and a beautiful glisten that it has after a moisturizing hair mask. Overall, on straighter finer hair, I'd say use the conditioner thoroughly but rinse very well and easy on the styling cream. I didn't experience any waxiness anywhere.Thali22

I have tried out several of Maui Moisture’s conditioners, and this coconut oil one is BY FAR my favorite! This conditioner has an AMAZING tropical/fruity/clean fragrance to it. It has a medium thick consistency to it, which I prefer over being too runny, or too thick making it difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. I leave this conditioner on while I am performing the rest of my shower routine. This way I can give the conditioner enough time to soak into my freshly shampooed hair. I have pretty dry hair so this coconut oil conditioner does it wonders. Once it has been on my hair for a sufficient amount of time high brush it out under the running water. I have very tingle prone hair but this conditioner makes detangling a breeze. After rinsing out the product I am left with silky smooth hair that smells amazing. My mom has thick, coarse hair so I had her try out this conditioner as well. She too was left with beautiful, silky hair after using this conditioner! I have wavy hair and this conditioner really brought out and defined my wave pattern. I think this would be a lovely conditioner for others with wavy to curly hair. Hair background: I have medium to high density hair. My hair is medium porosity type 4a natural hair. Product: This conditioner has a thick consistency. it is white and has a very pleasent scent. in terms of the packaging I wish it was bigger because you tend to use more conditioner than shampoo as a curly girl. so I would change the packaging to be bigger and also an upside down packaging to help with product flow. Product on natural hair: Not sure if it is safe for color treated hair. However it worked well on my un-color treated hair. This conditioner is not as conditioning as other conditioners which is the main reason why I rated it as I did. it absorbs very well into my dehydrated hair but it didnt condition it well. It also did not have alot of slip and I found detangling my hair with flowing water easier than detangling my hair with this conditioner. it is an overall ok conditioner for natural hair but it needs a follow up leave in conditioner.
