I've never had a product that does what this product does. I have long brittle balayaged hair and after using conditioner my hair used to feel weoged down and limp. Ever since I included this in my routine, that has changed. I section my hair into two and apply a pea sized amount in each section avoiding the scalp and comb/brush each section to make sure the product spreads evenly. This product also helps with detangling. Degangle with fingers before your comb if you have long hair like me. Whoever is confused about this product isn't using it right..you're either using too much or it's not spreading well in your hair. After application, my hair no longer feels limp. They just feel healthy. If you feel the need to add more shine after this you can use the number 7 olaplex oil, just a drop after this. This routine is everything. Use the amount of product as asked by professionals and you will not find it as pricey either.addie
I have been wearing extensions for some time and decided to up the game and treat my hair to Olaplex. Big big mistake! The product is way too rich for hair extensions and it has completely dried them out! I had a lovely 20 inch, double drawn balayage hair extensions fitted in April 2022 and bought this kit in May.l (then repurchased when I was out). By September I have left 18 inch and dry as the Sahara. If you have hair extension please stay away! I’m not even close to the 12 month mark with my extensions and I’ll need to get new ones because my hair looks terrible. All that money down the drain, no pun intended. I use this on my hair when it’s damp/wet to help keep it smooth. I have a LOT of very long, very straight hair of medium thickness. I use two pumps and apply from my ears down and work it through my hair. I air dry my hair but when I occasionally blow dry it, this works just as well. I don’t apply it to my roots. It smells amazing, high praise coming from me as I’m sensitive to scents! It’s fruity and a bit sweet, but not overpowering once my hair dries. My husband also uses it on his crazy thick, curly hair and it helps tame some of his frizz, but not all (I don’t think anything can tame his hair!). I bought this cuz I saw all the good reviews about it. I’ve had several different serums at home but when I tried this for the first time, I’m in love. Not only is it lightweight, but the scent smells awesome too! The quality is good, it made my hair soft and tangle-free. Hair is so much smoother, silkier and no frizz at all. Doesn’t make my hair oily too. I attached a pic of my hair after using this serum however, I would like to point out that in order to achieve what I’ve shown in the pic, you can’t just rely on one product. I did use garnier anti-humidity leave-in conditioner on damp hair before using my heat protectant to blow dry. Right after that I applied this serum and then DAvines OI Oil as a finishing (another great product). The serum itself is good, I only used it from mid lengths to ends. The packaging size tho, it’s quite small. BUT! Only 2 small pumps is enough for my hair (I’m southeast asian and my hair length is below my chest, it’s medium thick) so a little goes a long way! If you have thicker hair, you need to section your hair to a few parts, I only sectioned to 2 because it’s not that thick. This is my new favorite hair product. As someone with a lot of hair, but very fine hair, it’s hard to find a product that doesn’t weigh me down- this allows for my hair to have shape and volume that lasts. The best results I’ve had came from using a denman brush to curl my hair, smoothing the roots over once. This method achieved beautiful formed waves for three days after. Verb is much less expensive than other curl products I’ve tried and it out performs all of them. I would highly recommend this to anyone with loose curls or waves, especially those with fine frizz prone hair like me. For reference I use this after I wash my hair with a kevin murphy cowash. Wow, I love this! I was hesitant because I see a lot of influencers use it and I always worry that that over hype things. But it really does reduce frizz and hold curl. A little goes a very long way, so it is easy to overdo it. My hair is 2C/3A and I live in a pretty dry climate and this was the perfect balance. I will say it did seem to "weigh down" my hair a bit more than other products, however, I'll take slightly less volume to have non-frizzy and light curls. I love Verb products. This one was new to me, but I had to try it. Glad I did! My tired, frizzy, permed curls were dying quickly. I needed a pick- me- up for them and this did the trick. A little, tiny bit goes a long way – all of Verb is like this. I love that because the product lasts, which means I'm not spending a fortune on hair, but getting a good, quality product. I am about 1 year into my CGM journey, and at this point – I rarely find products that work as well as my hair's natural oils. Even though I try to avoid shampoo, when I do use it (before hot tools or after about 3-4 weeks of conditioner rinses) I need to add a bit of moisture to make up for what I've rid my curls of. I tried this product after a wash day. It is one of the only products I've tried recently that actually feels natural in my hair. It helps to define curls and rid frizz. It dries with a light cast, but just enough for my hair to clump not enough to leave a waxy/dry texture like other competing products. I rarely feel comfortable using only one product. It's either a natural look sans products, or a mix of products (leave-in, oil, cream, maybe gel and spray etc., Depending on the style). This product is a mix of both worlds; leaves my hair natural looking without being too fluffy, yet offers enough moisture and oil for clumping without being heavy. Love the shine it adds. Ouai Curl Crème saves time for me since it's a cream + oil + hydrator + styling product. Great for traveling with. Easy to refresh dry hair with or style wet hair with. The scent is so luxuriously floral yet sweet, the packaging looks elegantly simple, and the bit about the "ex" on the packaging gave me a good chuckle. This product is clearly a creme that is not shy to define, and give your hair a subtle yet noticeable shine. IMMEDIATELY after drenching my hair in water, and applying the product, I barely had to touch my hair, and the definition was VERY apparent. Y'all, when I say, I was shook… I have never in all of my 21 years of life had a product instantly define my hair upon application. I barely had to finger comb. It for sure provides a nice element of moisture as well, and I find that the more I've used it these past couple of weeks, the softer my hair is getting. I'm not 100% sure if it's this product, or some of the other products that I've been using in my hair for the time being, but I do know that this is clearly the moisture and defining agent in the squad of hair products I've been using. This product has chia & linseed oil, babassu oil, and coconut oil in it, which are clearly carrying the product and running so that it doesn't even have to jog on it's own. Babassu oil is known as an oil that promotes high moisture retention, which seals the moisture into your hair shaft (ideal for high porosity hair types), and you know lack of moisture retaining products in your haircare routine is one of the #1 causes for breakage. Chia seeds are rich in fatty acids which work to not only penetrate your hair shaft (great for low porosity hair types), but seal in the moisture as well. Linseed oil is the same as flaxseed oil, which is high in vitamin E, and not only treats hair loss, but promotes growth. For my dry scalp peeps, flaxseed oil also can be used to prevent dandruff, and can provide relief. If you have damaged hair, or chemically processed hair, this is very ideal, since it has great moisture retaining properties, and it seals damaged cuticles. I have pretty curly hair but it's very fine and I was worried this cream would be too heavy but that is not the case at all! I use this on my hair while it's wet by section with a denman brush and my curls look incredible. if you diffuse, it creates a great mask for the curls that you can brush out after. my curls seriously last 3 days through workouts, sleep (I plop/pineapple my hair without a bonnet and they stay!) DC humidity, all of it. Ok, so i've been natural for awhile and I have to admit I used As I am products, but I was not very consistent. My inconsistency caused me to miss out on how great this product truly is. However this morning, I was determined to have a great wash and go for once and I noticed that when I used As I am curl enhancing smoothie, it does not leave a residue. I can not stand products that leave residue, it frustrates me. Anyway, I used the curl enhancing smoothie ( mind you this product has been sitting in my bathroom closet for months with me just using it off and on) along with Aunt Jackie's flax seed gel and I am loving the results. However, I would like to know how this product passed quality control due to the smell?!! It literally smells like the bottom of a litter box with 4 Male cats. It's super easy to apply and I was looking for something that not only added moisture to my hair but would help bring my dry damaged curls back to life and this product has been very good so far! Mizani 25 Miracle Milk can be used on wet or dry hair. I like to use it right out of the shower as a regular leave in conditioner or in the mornings to refresh my hair. When using it on dry hair, I prefer to spray it directly onto the palms of my hands which makes it easier to evenly work the product into my hair. I love that Miracle Milk has multiple different hair benefits. This saves me time and money since I only have to use one product instead of various different products such as a detangling spray, gloss, leave in conditioner etc. The mist is fine and even but the smell is a little bit to strong for my liking. I have mixed white/black, curly hair (texture closer to the white side), so moisturizing is a daily must for my long, curly hair. I love the formula of the product. The product sprays out in a mist, which dispenses a bit more fine than previous leave in conditioners I have used. Due to that, I have found myself over spraying. I found out once brushing that the spray conditioner actually let out a good amount. However, I have since adjusted – takes a minute to get used to. The bottle itself is not my favorite. Although very pretty, the push top to spray the product is rather tough to push down with one finger. The top also spins so while attempting to spray the product it twists in a direction that does not spray on the hair. My hair feels moisturized and soft when using this product. I bought this product for $30, really excited to try and revive my frizzy, dry, straight hair. I feel like this product may work for people with fine hair, but it personally didn’t work for my thick and wirey strands. In addition to this, I live in a pretty humid place so that could also be why it’s not helping. The smell is also strange and reminds me of a public bathroom? bought this product because i couldn’t decide between this or the mending infusion. i am a man with short hair and using this definitely styles my hair, but it almost feels like a hair gel rather than a cream. it leaves my hair just a little bit stiff and a tad oily. considering getting the mending infusion but if you don’t mind slightly oily hair this does the trick. side note it smells great. i feel like moroccanoil changed their formula and nothing smells the same anymore, but this has the moroccanoil signature scent.aydenb723
I have had some pretty serious issues over the past few years… after having lost about 60% of my hair due to some health issues… and I have to say that this Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream is AMAZING!!! I went from having VERY healthy, thick and shiny hair to VERY dry and fragile hair, almost over night, a few years back. My hair used to take DAYS to fully dry, when I would clip it up in a twist to dry naturally. Unfortunately, in the past couple of years, the bottom has literally been TOTALLY DRY, upon taking it out from my hair drying turban, only about 15 minutes after washing it… 🙁 The first time that I washed my hair again after having used a tiny bit of this product in my hair 3 days prior, when I took my hair out from my hair drying turban, it was actually STILL WET!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT!!! My hair is soft and pretty shiny again! 🙂 If this could do this for my hair in this condition, I can't imagine how WONDERFUL it would be for those of you with healthy hair! I really really REALLY wanted to love this. Trust me, I even tried it on dry and wet at multiple times throughout the week and let me just say, disappointed in an understatement. To give you better perspective, I have wavy straight hair and I twirl my hair around my finger and usually creates these beautiful waves as my Hair dries. I was searching for the best hydrating styling cream snd decided to give this one s try because I love their hair oil but oh boy big mistake. It smelled NOTHING like their other products. It smells like chemicals and the moment I apply it to myself hair (wet or dry) it gets SO STICKY & STIFF. Once it dries it make your hair so puffy and it worsens when you brush it. Not sure if this is meant for curly hair folks? But it’s s big no for me. Disappointed but it is what it is. Thank god I bought the mini version. I use this daily on my curly hair. It doesn't leave my hair greasy feeling or looking like some of the other products I've used over the years, and I like the light coconut scent. As others have commented, it is a thick product and difficult to get out of the bottle, but my solution for that is to use a pump top from another product (like Mrs. Meyers hand soap) cut to the length needed for the SheaMoisture bottle. I save the screw-on top and use it toward the end of the bottle when the pump won't get out the last bit. Then I turn the bottle upside down, and when that doesn't work any more, I get a plastic knife and scrape the rest out. It's too good to leave any behind!!Barbara C.
I have received Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style milk in exchange from topbox my honest review. I have curly and very dry hair and the tangles are my challenge. This product worked awesome on my tangles and I loved the Coconut smell. It is sulfate-free, paraben-free. Also cruelty free and fair trade. Ingredient list is great. Anybody with type 4 hair please buy this. I used this for the first time with the curl souffle and my only gripe is that I didn't try this a lot sooner. Super moisturising and lush on the hair. Gorgeous. My hair feels completely nourished and this is just on the first use. I would recommend if you are a thick type 4 you be quite generous when you use it because a fair amount works a long way if you are a tighter texture.Anna

I have wavy/curly hair, medium texture. Pre-pandemic, I was recommended Moroccanoil by my stylist. But, since the product I was using at the time was working well, I didn't bother trying Moroccanoil. However, recently, my usual product reformulated and changed drastically for the worse. It no longer worked. So, I decided to try a few products from Moroccanoil (oil treatment, curl defining cream, and curl control mousse). To my dismay, all the products I tried smell like alcohol and aftershave. While I do get a little more bounce and a little more curl than my previous brand, non of the products I tried is great with frizz control. I've tried letting my hair air dry and I've also used a diffuser on low and medium settings. I'm fine with paying for a product that works. But, I feel that I have been ripped off. It seems that Moroccanoil decided that "shareholder value" was more important than their customers.Paola
I LOVE this product and this whole brand. I was sent a sample of the curl defining cream and the smell won me over instantly. It just makes your hair smell so good. My husband thought it was my shampoo or conditioner, but he told me my hair smelt so good the first time I used this product. I even went and bought the perfect defense heat protector spray after they sent me this sample. I use it after I curl my hair with my straightener and it just makes my hair smell amazing, reduces any frizz left, and makes my curls bouncy. I also let my daughter use it and she loved it as well. She has super curly ringlets and used it after a shower and her curls looked so good. They were bouncy and frizzless. This product works! The only thing is that there are other products on the market for curl defining that are very similar for way less and that’s why I took off a whole star. As of now, I’ve stuck with Cantu’s curl defining cream so I can compare it to that. Unlike Cantu’s, this cream is super lightweight! Doesn’t feel heavy or greasy but still gets the job done. My curls were super shiny and they were defined. I put mousse over it and it did a wonderful job of keeping my curls frizz free. The smell alone was amazing. I would only get this when I want to splurge. Although it did wonders, it’s still not something I’d spend $36 on. These products tend to run out quick if you have curly hair or long hair and it’s just not worth it. My hair is naturally curly. I tried many products to try and keep the freeze at bay. The humidity where I live is ridiculous. This actually helped me out so so much. My hubby bought me the dyson hair curler set, as soon as I was done the curls would fall and the frizz took over. I wanted to love the dyson, but was really regretting the amount my hubby paid for it. Mixed chicks saved me totally… I gave it a try with my dyson and it actually worked wonders. I air curled it yesterday and they are still looking good today. This does work on all hair types. My oldest daughter's hair is closer to mine with a lot of frizz and my youngest has the brittle hair texture with the tighter curls. Both are also loving this. My go to leave in. Blends in smoothly and my hair soaks up this product. What needs to be improved is the smell of this product because it's underwhelming. Also sometimes the product can leave my curls crunchy if I don't follow up with a smoothing styling cream or an oil. Other than that I find that these are small sacrifices based off the other leave-in conditioners that are on the market that will sometimes leave my hair with lots of residue or no moisturized. I am no hair expert. I have semi curly, semi wavy, straight in some places, a little dry here, a little oily there type of hair. It just doesn’t know what it is doing. I wash with a very good shampoo, condition, then put this absolute miracle, light weight leave-in conditioner in my hair and all of a sudden my hair gets its act together! I ran out of my preferred gel that I get from my hair stylist. I was putting together my Ulta order, hadn't heard back from stylist about availability for product pick up, so I decided to sub for this product instead. I do the plop method, before I put my hair into an old t-shirt, I put in hair moisturizer and gel. This worked absolutely perfect for my previous gel (which is not sold on Ulta). Using the Mixed Chicks Curl Sculptor was disappointing. To be fair, I didn't realize it elongated curls, I love how coily my curls are, and it was disappointing to see them stretched out. That's on me, not MC. However, there was white residue throughout my hair in the morning and throughout the day until after I'd slept on between wash days. I have had dandruff before, and this was definitely the product, not my scalp. Most of the residue was towards the ends of my hair and stuck to my curls. My hair was also pretty sticky, too, and clumped together in a way that let many curls tangle faster than they usually would for my normal daily routine. I'm not buying this again, but maybe it works better for someone who doesn't do the plop method or mix in other products.Von
Im shocked by all the negative reviews. This was gifted to my by a friend and I didnt expect much from it since I had never tried the brand before, but its left my curls so beautiful. I use the SheaMoisture yogurt and manuka honey leave in spray and then scrunch this into sections of my hair and brush it through with a denman brush. My hair dries WAY faster when I use this and is defined yet still voluminous and lasts all week. I havent noticed it drying out my hair or anything (My hair gets really dry easily) but I use a hair mask once a week so maybe thats why. Also some people complained about the smell but tbh unless you hold it right up to your nose you really dont smell anythingKianny

I have long straight hair but towards my ends it gets dryer and more kinky. I use about 6 pumps of this oil after I get out of the shower and have combed my hair. Avoiding the scalp area, I gently warm the oil in my hands and work it through the trouble areas in my hair and down to the ends. This is the only gel that makes me hair curly/ wavy after I put it on, I don’t need to scrunch my hair to see results, it just starts to curl. After that of course I scrunch it to my desire of curliness* but this is in my top 5 of gels. I don’t like gels bc they contain a lot of harsh stuff that can damage and dry out your hair but this here is the best! You won’t go wrong and the smell is like.. in between masculine and feminine. I can’t describe the smell but in my opinion is smells great. Definitely not fruity, it’s smells woodsy I guess but again I’m not good at describing this. I have fine curly hair that misbehaves between cuts, especially if I’m trying to grow it out. A combination of this product and the REDKEN CURVACEOUS RINGLET works really well as leave in conditioning products. I adjust the balance as my hair grows. If I need more weight I use slightly more of this product. If my hair is long enough and has good weight and needs definition or fly away management, I use the other.Donna T

This is hands down the best curly hair gel on the market. I use 2-3 pumps for my whole head and scrunch it in after applying a leave in conditioner to very wet hair. It starts by drying hard but then as the day goes on, your hair looks and feels so soft and the curls are still in place. If i’m looking for a stronger hold because of a slick-back ponytail or something, I usually opt for a stronger gel like Not Your Mother’s. However, I still use Uncle Funky’s Daughter every single day and it’s been excellent for my 3b hair! And CGM approved!!! Worth every penny and lasts long.Natalie
I branched out a year ago to try new products for my wavy hair and I stumbled on this one. I wasn’t sure at first because it’s a weird texture. Kinda like a watery gel. I wasn’t 100% sure it would help my hair. Omg. I was so wrong to be skeptical. This stuff is in my everyday hair arsenal. I scrunch this into my wet hair after a shower. Sometimes it’s all I use and it leaves my hair soft and gently defined. If I want stronger definition, I add in Marc Anthony’s curly mousse right after this and scrunch it in with a t-shirt then let air dry. Feels just like snot!! And gets the job DONE! So just so that you know, I’m a lazy 4C natural. Meaning I do bare minimum to maintain a few strands of hair on my non-chemically treated hair. I literally do not use styling products, partially out of laziness but even more so out of fear of breakage and dryness etc. I took a chance, and for the first tome in years, I tried a styling product, and this was it. It’s a gel with the exact consistency of snot. First wash your hair, condition, leave in condition or whatever, and then while your hair is still soaking wet, apply a GENEROUS amount. Finger detangle/shingle/whatever you to that usually gets a little more definition in your hair and boom. Soft not crunchy curls. Such an amazing hold without feeling like your hair is going to fall out. No flaking. This is the first product in many years that has actually helped my curls. As a woman of 50+ years of age my hair texture has changed and my curls have not been “right” for years. After the first use I immediately noticed a difference. My curls were softer, more defined, and lasted for several days. I do a full wash once a week (clarifying shampoo, deep condition, etc). And once between full washes I only condition my hair the shower. My hair needs moisture. I've tried this on both wet and damp hair, and it still gives the same results. I do admit that I sleep with wet hair 75% of the time but it still makes my hair look nice the next morning. When I let my hair air dry, it looks way less frizzy compared to other past times. It also helps to make it look less dry and even works as a heat protectant as well. It also doesn't make my hair oilier. The scent of it reminds me of the BIOSILK serums. 5/5 for sure. I’ve also noticed less hair fallout using all the products…shampoo, conditioner and spray! 🤎nataly.s
I’m not super sure about this product. i love the smell but It smells significantly different than the shampoo and conditioner which is totally fine! (I just thought I’d throw that out there). Unfortunately this product doesn’t do anything for me, I don’t notice a difference. Also it doesn’t mesh very well with my styling products that I currently use for my hair. It says it controls frizz when in fact I feel like it does the complete opposite. I have curly hair and us curly hair girls try our best to avoid frizzy hair, unfortunately this made it worse.addy.m
