I used this for the first time this week. I really like the shade. The trick to getting a good application is to make sure you shampoo your hair before application so it’s damp and why residue/build up is gone, which can make the color not adhere to your hair. Remember, semi-permanent coats the surface of your hair, not the cuticle, so you want it as clean as possible. Using it on dry hair will give you a tint, but probably not the bright effect you were hoping for. Liked it so much, I got a few more shades of red and brown to try out.shannon.g
this stuff is AMAZING!! So I have been on the grey silver hair trend (well trying to get there at least) lol and the stuff is a lifesaver! I couldn't get the darn brass out of my hair and it was driving me crazy! tried almost everything! My last option was toning but after all the bleaching I didn't want to use chemicals… this saved my life and turned my pale yellow to a beautiful silver after one wash with a little bit in my shampoo! then I shadow tried with it full strength! no brass slightly profile like I wanted (only in the sun and thats because I left it on as little longer to achieve the purple silver look). I also used it on my son because w bleached his mohawk twice but was still orange like really orange! one freaking wash with a purple shampoo I made with this (a little stronger than the one I made for my hair since his was so orange) and we got a beautiful silver!! I'm 1 wash!! no more expensive purple shampoo for me baby! I got one bottle and have made 3 batches of purple shampoo, shadow ripped my hair fill strength 4 times and still have over half a bottle left! This bottle will last you a good while if you mix with water. It will still do the job and look bright and shiny. I used this to colour the blonde as my regrowth came through and trust me it looks better then having half blonde half black hair. Mixed this with the sapphire and got a beautiful blue. This is a great product, which holds true to its name. I ordered this product online, as it was no longer available at my local Walmart. Unfortunately, the product was shipped totally loose inside the cardboard box, with no bubblewrap or packing paper to keep it from bouncing around all over the place. As I had ordered a quantity of 2, one of the bottles was cracked at the bottom and was leaking badly inside the box. The other items included with this order was also covered with the spilled product. In the 70,s I wore my first afro and this was the only product that helped to soften and detangle my very kinky hair. A year ago I went natural again and I thought I would never find it again, after all it had been over 40 years since I had use it. I went to several stores with no luck. One day I just decided to go to walmart just to see if they had anything for natural hair. I think I actually did a little dance when I saw it on the shelf. They only had two bottles. I bought both, went home got on my tablet and order three more bottles. As long as I have natural hair I will use Sta-Sof-Fro because its the only product that makes my hair manageable. As other reviewers stated, I couldn't see the difference of length in my hair by using this but as someone with natural hair, this product definitely provides the moisture you need when your hair is on the dry side. I’ve been using this line of hair products for a while, and it is a great moisture lock for 4b/4c hair! I highly recommend using this product with your favorite leave in-conditioner, as it mixes well with just about any! I paired this grease with after I washed my hair and performed a twist based protective style on my hair, and after few days, my hair is still moisturized!! The only cons to this product is that if you solely use it on your hair, it will be extremely greasy and it does have a slight smell to it. After you get done rubbing it into your hair, the surrounding area will smell like the grease, haha. To alleviate the smell, don’t just use this on your hair alone. Also, if you happen to pat or scratch your hair, there will be some residue on your hands. To yield the best results, pair it with another product!!ace.r

well so far this has been fantastic! I've been using this for about a month now and I've seen a massive improvement in the thickness and density, softness, managablitliy and overall health of my hair. My hair has changed significantly over the years as I age, and I've got wiry curl in parts, frizz in others, and wiry Grey's down my part. my hair has been thinning more and more over the years as well, to the point where I'm needing to use dark eyeshadow on my scalp at the part line. I know this is working because I've no longer needed to do this step. I color my Grey's religiously, just the regrowth but thus I've sustained damage as a result. this product has been amazing for healing some of this as well. I have been trying to air dry my hair prior to using my Dyson flat iron, to minimize some of the damage, but the problem with air drying is that many products then feel as if there a coating left on my hair. I've been searching for products that don't do this, and Nioxin has delivered. it doesn't feel coated or weighed down it feels soft and full and smooth and absolutely perfect. it's rare I find something that I fall in love with and I really do love this system. I did receive this entire system from a free sample program but here's the thing- I've received so many hair products through free sampling programs and I've never gone on to repurchase them. but this one I will continue using. im so excited to see what it looks like in 6 months if it already looks this fabulous. even my co workers have noticed it and asked if i got my hair done! i really like how there is so many classification depending on hair type too, like colored and dry etc. the fact that it's sold as a system is a bonus, there's no guesswork in navigating 3 diff products and there's no issue with 1 or 2 of the required products being sold out, which happens all the time with other products. it's super convenient and also affordable too…I'll definitely purchase this soon as im almost out!tartarbinx
I used this system some years back when I first noticed signs of thinning which worried me (too much hair coming out on my brush and in the shower). My hair salon suggested to me to try this and I have to admit it did help with the hair loss (it slowed down), but I never noticed any changes in regrowth or thickening which I was hoping I might achieve from continued use. The system itself was easy enough to use and make a part of my haircare routine although I did find the shampoo to be quite drying for my hair type. I have been using this for years (female with dry, colored, thinning hair) and am so glad that it’s now at Sephora. I have long hair and you don’t need much of the shampoo or conditioner (I find I do need to use additional conditioning products because my hair is dry). The scalp spray is great for additional volume. I started losing volume in my 30, i was also experiencing hair loss/thinning at my hair line and consulted a dermatologist. I bought a laser hair cap that was ridiculously expensive and used it as directed for years and didn’t notice any difference. He also suggested a topical that I would have to apply daily and once stopped, I would most likely lose any hair that had grown back. This conditioner with the matching shampoo has been the only product I have found on salon and store shelves that makes my over processed hair feel like hair again. I have had a blonde head of brittle straw and this product works great, sometimes it is a strong tingle so it's not great for every single day use. I have an oily scalp, I wash 3 times a week and this product reduces my shampoos which protects my hair from breaking. I loose fistfulls of hair when I wash it, not even the pricey bonding products work, plus they are too heavy for my fine wavy hair. My water is town water and they have a lot of mineral residue, it's very hard water. This product works with the water source I have.Chrissy
This is my absolute favorite shampoo/conditioner to use, always! Not only does the tea tree oil clarify my roots, but it keeps my hair silky smooth and clean feeling for an extra day compared to other clarifying shampoos. Also, the scent of the lavender and other ingredients inside this shampoo conditioner duo is phenomenal! I dunno how, but the mint, lavender tea tree oil come together perfectly with scent and that tingly feeling your scalp gets. I cannot even express how eveyone needs to try at least once in their life! I *guarantee* that you will NOT want to use any other tea tree oil shampoo after having tried Paul Mitchell's . My only negative remark on this product is how expensive it can be seen for in beauty supply shops. Online I can usually find the 1L pump shampoo conditioner set for $50 or less. My local hair salon was selling smaller sized bottles individually for $39.99! I'm not sure if this is due to the greed of the beauty salon's or their owner's or if Paul Mitchell isn't providing enough of an incentive or discount to sell from their product at a salon, but whatever it is…it needs to be addressed. The absolute best thing out there. I have dealt with dandruff for the past few years. Never had dandruff in my life until recently. I got this shampoo and conditioner and it has changed everything. I haven’t had any dandruff, my hair feels amazing, and my scalp feels so clean. I would get a smell on my scalp and it didn’t smell good. I switched to this shampoo and conditioner and it has completely went away. I don’t even have to brush my hair after using it. I love this product and I will be getting it again!

I have think fine lightened wavy hair. This shampoo is a perfect everyday shampoo to alternative with more specialised shampoos when needed (purple, scalp etc). It smells so good. I wish Paul Mitchell had a matching conditioner. I have oily skin/hair and find I get average to maybe a day longer in between washes with this. I like purchasing this product when my favorite products aren’t in stock! This shampoo will last you a long time and smells very good! My hair feels great after pairing it with other Paul Mitchell conditioners, but while rinsing it out, my hair feels very dry so that is why it has a four star review. I feel like it takes a lot of the hydration out and I think that’s a great thing if your hair gets easily oily but if not, this probably isn’t the greatest for you. I will continue to buy this as my backup since the smell lasts long and my hair feels fine as long as I use conditioner afterwards!april.j
I bought this shampoo to use on ocassion in between my regular hair shampoo. I thought it would be a good mild, cleanser, but bc of my current hair type, it caused very bad knots and tangles in my hair. For that reason, I returned it. It smelled great and cleaned my hair well, but bc of the knots, it didn't work for me I have shoulder length, straight, fine hair, naturally dark blonde highlighted to light blonde.Rebecca

I have being dying my hair bright, vibrant red for just over five years now, and Arctic Fox has been part of my color maintenance routine since day one. Vibrant red hair is not easy to maintain and keep from fading quickly, which can very quickly do serious damage to your hair if your only using ammonia-based chemical dyes every time you need to refresh your color. Arctic Fox doesn't damage hair at all. In fact, it helps undue the damage caused by permanent dyes because it doesn't have any harsh chemicals that strip hair. Arctic Fox is actually GOOD for your hair and works just like a conditioner, not like a hair dye. I add Arctic Fox to my regular conditioner (sulfate free of course) so that every time I wash my hair I'm also keeping my red looking vibrant and even healthier every time. I always wash my hair using the coolest water I can tolerate and after I shampoo I apply my premixed bottle of 3/4 sulfate free conditioner, 1/4 Arctic Fox Wrath + a dollop of Violet Dream and let it sit on my hair secured on top of my with a claw clip while I finish the rest of my shower routine, just like I would do with a nourishing hair mask. Once my routine is done, I rinse out my hair thuroughly in cool water and towel dry it only so I get the most out of conditioning my hair, and viola! My looks, feels softer and healthier than before I washed it, plus my red still looks like it did the day I first day I dyed it. It's a win win. Not only does Artic Fox keep my red looking great, but it leaves my hair healthier every time also. Plus the custom colors you can create by mixing different different Arctic Fox colors together are endless! I was amazed at the color i got by mixing Purple AF + a touch of Aquamarine! It sounds crazy to mix aquamarine and deep purple together, but the color came out a multidimensional dark blue/purple-ish color that changes color depending on how the light hits it. It's my new favorite color! It does come out very dark, so I apply it (no conditioner added) to the bottom 1/3 of my hair and lightly pull the color upwards into my red to get a perfect blended fade from bright red to deep blue/purple. I love this stuff. I am older and gray hair just does not look good on me. But as I get older my hair sucks up perm hair dye on the ends and turning them black, while about 2 inches at the roots will turn either blonde or red. But Arctic Fox fits the bill, and it smells good (like grapes). It does not damage your hair, as it is semi perm and no peroxide or developer. So far I have used Wrath, Poison, Sunset Orange, Ritual, Purple Rain, Transylvania. Purple Rain (now called Purple AF) and Transylvania were used as a mix. The colors will only bleed right after you apply them, but otherwise you do not need to worry about bleeding. Arctic Fox really is like using a deep conditioner with highly pigmented color in it. Leaves your hair shiny, soft and smelling like grapes. Wash you hair in cold water and only a few times a week, the color will loose its intensity and fade not go away. The Arctic Fox web site tells you how the colors fade, for example Wrath is red but fades to pink. So in the course of 4 weeks your hair will be vibrant red, magenta, dark pink, lighter pink. I do not bleach my hair, so on the front (the gray and white part) the color looks like what it is like on bleached hair. While the back is brown about a level 5, so it is highlighted with the color I used. If you plan to use it on unbleached hair then you have to use the more vivid colors.
I have virgin dirty blonde hair. I bought the shade Transylvania which is a pure black color. I applied it last night to my clean hair, no products or nothing in it and let it sit in foil for about 40 minutes. I didn't apply the dye to my whole head, I just wanted to add pieces here and there throughout my hair like I've done in the past. Upon rinsing my hair out with cold water and letting it dry I noticed how faded the black looks. In the shower the water ran blue. I know black dyes typically contain blue but this was like a vibrant blueish green. In artificial lighting the dye in my hair looks like a dark grey, but in the natural sunlight it looks like a greyish green which isn't very pretty at the moment. I'm going to give it one more go before I decide whether or not to return this. I usually LOVE arctic fox dyes and have never had issues before but this black dye really needs to be reformulated.Jen

I went from a medium copper red to dark auburn brown with the shade Milano Brown – 5NAC. Picking a shade on the Ulta app wasn't the easiest process and going to the Madison Reed website only helped a little in that their quiz matched me to the same shade I was leaning toward based on the photos here. The shade may be a touch too dark for me, but I just dyed it today so I think it'll grow on me. The sites, both Ulta and Madison Reed, list Milano as a "dark chocolate brown," but the actual box clearly says Dark Auburn. I'm mostly okay with that as I love red, but I was actually aiming for a browner brown. While there aren't highlights in this formula, it does have some vibrancy and shine to keep it from being mousy. It is, at least on me, definitely a dark red brown. The kit is a very good and complete kit. I love that it has 2 pairs of gloves, a barrier and wipe to keep you from dying your skin and there's plenty of dye for a full application. I don't know how I feel about the shower cap as I did start to feel a little warm in it. It achieved a full color application, though, so I'm pleased. My hair feels a little textured after dying it, but it doesn't look dry or damaged in any way. It's honestly like I used I volumizing spray or mousse, but I didn't. Maybe there is something like that in the conditioner because my hair does look fuller. I have very fine, straight hair so it looks very good to me after the complete process. That whole process, for a full head application on hair that hasn't been dyed in months, took me a little over an hour start to finish. Every step was easy to complete for someone used to dying their own hair and the instructions are clear for any level of experience. I worried a little that the price meant it might be too advanced for me, but it's like all the other kits that I've tried with a few nice extras. The price and difficulty finding my right shade are why this gets 4 stars instead of the full 5. The kit is a 5 star and then some kind of kit, but not being able to tell if you're picking the right shade is a big problem when buying online. $30 for something I've never tried before when I'm used to paying around $3 for Revlon ColorSilk was a risk. I wanted something different, though, and this absolutely delivered. I'm very likely to try it again in the future. I'll be looking at a different shade and hoping for a sale.Adele S
I used this hair color religiously for 2 years, thinking it was a safer option than other box dyes. The color is good, it's easy enough to use, and the amount per kit was fine, even for my super long hair. However, I would notice more hair loss after coloring, and over the course of 2 years, I would have several episodes of hair loss. I thought it was due to stress, hormones, etc. But I researched and came across other reviewers and encounters of hair loss like mine from various Madison Reed color kit users. Madison Reed claims to be free of the traditional "harsh chemicals" found in hair dye, but fail to mention they simply replaced the usual suspects with harsh alternatives: ammonia is subbed out with ethanolamine, which is known to cause skin irritation and can also cause hair loss!!! There is a new class action lawsuit against Madison Reed for this very reason, as per Feb 2022 (NY), and I am certain there will be many more. I'm 49 so hair overall has changed. I've been using this color for a couple of years now. It's overpriced, and the last 3 times I've colored my hair within less than 2 weeks grays are shining! After 5-6 washes I am still having grayish black colored water. I can't attribute this to one specific thing but I purchased about 6-8 boxes when it was BOGO these are all from the same timeframe. I only color it every 6 weeks if I can help it but it honestly needs it after 2.5-3 weeks. I have a few boxes left but unfortunately I won't be using it. I went back to mixing my own. The black doesn't seem like real black either… it's like a reddish tint after a few washes. I don't mind that so much, BUT I do mind seeing color wash out after 5-6 washes literally up until I color again I am still washing out color. It's been very drying as well. Classic hair grease. I gave it 4 stars, because it has questionable ingredients. I really don't like using petroleum-based products, especially on my kids, but my daughter's scalp and 4c hair loves this stuff. It really helps protect and moisturize her fragile edges and retain length. I use a little bit of this grease maybe once a month.lyra.s

PLEASE be aware that this has a chemical called ethanalomine in it. A corrosive and dangerous substitute to ammonia. No harsh chemicals? Bah! I have lost 75% of my hair since I started using this product during the pandemic last year. I have been through rounds of steroids injections to try to bring it back. It has ruined my life. Shame on you Madison Reed. Google "ethanolamine hair loss" and you'll find it causes up to 85% more hair fall than the typical ammonia.UBA
Came out way, way darker than expected. I would describe the color as “soft black” and definitely not “medium brown”. I had to pay a stylist to fix it. I also have been experiencing a significant amount of hair shedding since using this. My stylist confirmed that my hair definitely looks thinner. A bit of Google searching confirmed that this is a common problem and there is even a class action lawsuit in NY over it. Just pay a stylist or use another brand. I received the Nioxin System 1 (3 pieces) for free for testing purposes. These are my own opinions. First, I’d like to share that I’ve been using the 3 piece set (shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment) for a little over a month. I do not shampoo my hair daily and I try to go as many days as possible in between washes. That being said, I still saw some results in the short amount of time I used this product. First, the shampoo leaves your hair feeling clean. The smell is pleasant and there is a cooling, tingling sensation with these products that I really enjoy. My scalp can be on the dry side sometimes and it’s been looking clear with no irritation. The conditioner is nice and a little goes a long way. I massage the shampoo and conditioner into my scalp and I try to keep both products on for a few minutes in the shower so they can “sink in and work their magic�. After the shower I wrap my hair in a hair towel to absorb most of the moisture. Using a wide tooth comb, I detangle my hair, make a part on my scalp and spray the scalp treatment. I continue this all over my head. Comb-part-spray. I massage this product into my head and then style as usual. Ever since having kids (7 years ago) my hair has gone from crazy thick to thinning. It’s depressing and scary. I’ve collagen and biotin but I didn’t notice much of a difference. After using Nioxin for this short amount of time, I’m already seeing baby hairs!!! I’m hoping it’s new growth and not breakage. It looks like new to me. I wish this campaign was longer so I could have more time to know for sure. I’m happy with the results. I received a complimentary full size Nioxin System 2 Scalp Treatment from Influenster for my honest review. I did a lot of research on the Nioxin products before using them. I was a little nervous because I was told that I may lose more of my already thinning hair. I have been using it, and yes I am losing more hair but the hair that hasn't fallen out is thicker. I am not sure if it's worth it to keep using. I have also read that you will lose before you start seeing new growth due to the hair follicles being so clogged before using the Nioxin. The directions on the treatment are a little unclear. I apply to scalp and don't rinse out. Ok, but does my hair need to be damp, soaking wet, dry? Should I comb my hair right after applying or do I put it in a loose bun until it dries? Directions should be more clear on how to apply properly for best results. I am going to continue to use and see what happens. Will have to update later!hilliary .p
Scalp and Hair Treatment – (for natural hair and light thinning). The content comes out of a pump and feels like a serum but doesn't make your hands oily. You can pump it directly onto your scalp and then massage it in. It has a strong peppermint scent which was refreshing to me. • Along with the shampoo and conditioner pairing, this did its job and helped my hair grow 2x faster than it did prior to using the 3 step treatment. It also thickened my hair making it stronger and healthier in appearance. • I have been using this for over 3 months, 2-3 times a week and there is still a lot of product left in the 3.38 FL oz bottle. • See pictures for before and after. You will see my very noticeable scalp in one of the pictures vs, my healthier scalp and hair in the other (taken after first use and latest use). Pros- I think the review says it all! Originally when I picked the color off the lime crime website it looked more like a tan neutral almost with subtle hints of peach close to nude color, and then when it arrived and the I swatched it – it was so far from what it looked like on the website? Hence why I usually don’t like purchasing make up mostly “lipsticks” online. However, I was extremely surprised how beautiful it was with little to no make up on and just very light mascara and lashes and how beautiful it went with my pale skin it wasn’t too dark and it wasn’t too late it’s the perfect shade for any occasion. I wouldn’t say it’s a nude color, I guess it could be placed in the nude category but I’ve found it had more hues of browns grays purples almost like a very dry it out purple with subtle and when I say subtle I mean very subtle hints of pinks and peaches and just all sorts of colors that I can’t quite point my finger on may be a little bit of a gray but mix those all together and you get this beautiful cashmere color that goes on smooth! I love that it’s a liquid lipstick aka VELVETINE matte (so I know it won’t be coming off on my teeth, clothes, drinks or even when I’m eating greasy foods – THIS HAS STAYED PUT!) I’ll even go as far as saying it lasted one very long passionate date night with my husband 🙊🙈😂 (insert blushing emoji here)  This was actually my second time purchasing this shade, and I would definitely purchase it again and again! Limecrime has great sales from time to time so make sure to look out for that! I think they’ve rebranded their website at showing the exact color on different skin tones and even have multiple lips pictured so you have a better idea how it will look, from when it was just the same pair of lips that was always pictured in every shade! I recommend any of limecrime’s liquid velvetines as they are soft on the lips and go on very smoothly.chantal .v
I would NEVER recommend this dye to anyone. It only gets a star because it smelled nice. I got Sea Witch and it has dyed every surface my hair touches that color if the strand is wet. As soon as any water hits my hair, the color just starts running everywhere. I just put a little gel in my hair so I could braid it and my scalp has turned green again and so are my hands. My hair has been falling out more than usual after using this dye and all my towels, pillow cases, every surface in my bathroom, the sink at work, they are all covered in little hair strands that turn the counter top green. It’s infuriating. I get that washing your hair means color will come out, but I’ve NEVER had any other brand wash out like this or turn every surface it touches that color. I will never be buying it again and I’m probably going to take this color out of my hair soon. I’ve dealt with this for almost 2 weeks and it’s only getting worse. I would not recommend this dye to ANYONE And to put my review up, I have to choose if the product is fair, good, or great and it’s none of those thingsAngie24
I love this brand so much. I’ve used maybe five of their colors, but the jello and chocolate Cherry are my absolute favorite ones. First off, the color penetration is excellent. If anyone out there is looking for tips, try rinsing your hair with cool water every time you wash it. Keeps the color longer and stays vibrant. The smell is a plus!!! And the price isn’t bad considering you’re getting over two more ounces of color compared to Manic Panic. I’ve been doing my hair funky colors for about twenty years now, I’ve tried literally every brand out there. I even put myself through beauty school and experimented with top notch dye, yet I still come back to this brand. I love it! I’ve got jello and cherry in my hair but I’m looking forward to trying Mochi soon, I’m excited about the grey/purple/bluish look it has. My rule of thumb is go darker and enjoy the fading process. This is a great kit with very useful items for @ home hair dye &/OR bleaching. The KIT INCLUDES: ■ Mixing Bowl ■ Digital Timer (w/Batt.*) ■ 4 Claw Clips to section hair ■ Coloring Brush ■ Storage Bag Mixing Bowl has brush rake on edge of rim, on handle side, w/pour spout on opposite. Digital Timer has 1.5V LR1130 Batt. pre-installed w/battery insulating pull-tab, that's used for shipping/storing of pre-installed batteries, & which must be removed prior to use. The four clips & brush are sturdy; the bowl has flexibility & is not flimsy. For me, the best part is digital timer. It's very convenient to have a dedicated timer that has a magnet on the back which easily secures it to the edge of the medicine cabinet or shower door frame, & other ferromagnetic metals. After removing the pull-tab, I just left it in the plastic covering so it can be wiped clean when needed. I would definitely recommend this product. This was my daughters favorite Christmas gift. It’s very large and 2 children (or child and adult) can easily play together. It closes up nicely with latches for easy storage. We love how versatile this set is. She has been able to add many accessories from other sets (our generation and American girl). The only thing I don’t love is the salon chair it came with. The chair is not the same as the one you can buy separate and there is no Velcro or anything to hold the doll in the chair (and it tips easily). I would absolutely buy this again!Mommabear3
