As other reviewers stated, I couldn't see the difference of length in my hair by using this but as someone with natural hair, this product definitely provides the moisture you need when your hair is on the dry side. I’ve been using this line of hair products for a while, and it is a great moisture lock for 4b/4c hair! I highly recommend using this product with your favorite leave in-conditioner, as it mixes well with just about any! I paired this grease with after I washed my hair and performed a twist based protective style on my hair, and after few days, my hair is still moisturized!! The only cons to this product is that if you solely use it on your hair, it will be extremely greasy and it does have a slight smell to it. After you get done rubbing it into your hair, the surrounding area will smell like the grease, haha. To alleviate the smell, don’t just use this on your hair alone. Also, if you happen to pat or scratch your hair, there will be some residue on your hands. To yield the best results, pair it with another product!!ace.r

I have straight fine hair but it is very thick in certain areas, and gets very frizzy and puffy without a serum and without being blow dried. This is the first product I've used from this brand and not only would I repurchase, I will look into buying other products because this one works so well. It makes my hair sleek and exceptionally shiny without drying it out (the only other product that makes my hair gleam like this is BioSilk which really dries out my hair), it's soft and polished and my frizz and flyaways are very well controlled, even in humid weather. I mix it with a lighter, more fluid oil to make it more viscous and easier to apply throughout my damp hair before I blow dry-brush it and I look like I've come from the salon every single time I use this. I also really like that it is a heat protectant too so I don't have to use multiple products in my hair. This did everything it claimed to on my hair, and yes there is very noticeable glitter in the product which gets left behind on your hands but it comes off when you rinse your hands under water so that's not even an issue.theb
I just got my hair done. I have a thick but wavy hair type. I got a blonde bolyage and normally my hair stands strong to being dyed. This time, I had some remnants of a previous hair dye and it made the bottom of my hair frizzy, damaged, and hard to maintain. When I first dispensed the product, I was a bit concerned because it was very oily (to me, anyway) and I worried that it wouldn't absorb into my hair. But it actually did nicely, so that was a relief. The scent is light and I like it. Color Wow Pop & Lock Fizz Control and Glossing Serum worked quite well on my dry, (frizzy!) hair. From a lot of over-processing in the past, not too many products can decrease the frizz that much. I tried the serum on both wet and dry hair. On my wet hair I really was hoping that it would tame my frizz and it actually did a great job. On dry hair I was hoping for some shine to brighten up my dull hair. I worked it through the mid-shaft and it did a pretty good job making my hair look a bit shinier. The only negative I'd say is that the product claims to lock in your hair's color and add improve the texture. I didn't find that happened for me at all. This product has been fantastic for my postpartum hair! For those who have gone through it you know your hair get wrecked for 6 months after baby is born. My hair looked limp and dull no matter what I did with it, following my old normal routine didn’t seem to work. This oil is super light weight and doesn’t cause oily buildup that other products I have used in the past to hydrate. After a few uses my dull hair started to shine again! The scent isn’t bad, but also not my favorite. The scent is stronger when applying than what lingers throughout the day. I have curly hair so I have only applied to wet hair. Kerastase Ultime Hydrating Hair Oil Serum is my new liquid gold. I have naturally curly hair that takes on a life of it’s own when exposed to humidity. I first tried this product on my dry hair because I couldn’t wait to see how it works. A big turn off for me is a hair product with a strong smell. I just can’t tolerate it. This serum has a light fragrance that didn’t offend me at all. I applied some to my hair and immediately noticed all the little fly away pieces of hair were blended in and my hair had a healthy looking shine. The oil is light and did not weigh down my hair or make it look greasy. So far I was satisfied and knew I’d be trying the product again. The next day, I applied the oil to my wet hair. I received this product for free in exchange for my review but it did not influence my rating. Normally, oils have not worked well for my hair because finding the right balance between shiny frizz and slick was near impossible. This product changed my views. My hair is natural salt and pepper, medium textured, mid-length, wavy, normal-to-dry, and prone to frizz. When I first received the product I read the instructions that it can be used on wet or dry hair. My hair was dry so I gave it a try. It's a no for me on dry hair. it was disappointing because I thought this oil would be just like the dozens of others I had tried. To test on wet hair, I first shampooed with a clarifying shampoo to ensure there was a clean slate. The directions state one to two pumps on wet or dry hair so I sectioned my hair in two and applied one pump to each section. My hair soaked it in but did not look or feel slick. The day I tested was very humid at over 70% so, while blow drying my hair, I expected Brillo sprouts of frizz to be popping up. None. My hair dried beautifully and frizz-free. There was a shine but still no slickness. It held up nicely throughout the day but did start to frizz up when it got damp. I'd recommend using a finishing spray to keep the look. Normally I can go up to four to five days between washes and this serum may have shortened the time by a day, but not significantly. I received a free sample of this, and I am actually going to shell out the full price for a bottle of it because I cannot believe the difference it has made. My hair is ridiculously fine, thin, straight, and long. My hair is easily weighed down, doesn't hold texture, doesn't hold volume, and looks greasy by the end of the day no matter what. I cannot skip a single shower, and I avoid using product in my hair in any way, shape, or form because not only will my hair look unwashed, stringy, and greasy (even with dry shampoo), but my scalp will break out. I can't even stray from the same shampoo/conditioner I've always used because my hair will freak out. All that to say– I cannot believe this product works on me. The ends of my hair dry out terribly, and in general my hair has not been in great shape. On the first use, my hair definitely felt softer, but after about a week of using this at night before bed, and every other day also putting some on the bottom half of my hair after a morning shower made my hair look and feel smoother, too. Tangled hair has been minimized, and brushing my hair is easier– less snags than usual. The oil does not have that viscous, sticky consistency that other treatments have, and doesn't have the weight and texture that make my hair limp. So far, I love this product. I have color-damaged, fine, wavy, long, blonde hair. This oil is fairly thick, but I'm impressed with it's ability to still be dispersed evenly throughout my hair. I use this product on the mid-shaft to ends of my hair while it is semi-damp/nearly dry, usually prior to blow-drying. I use a wide-tooth comb to ensure the product is evenly disbursed. Since using this product, I've noticed a reduction in my split ends and my hair feels smooth, soft and silky. A little bit of this product definitely goes a long way. Other reviewers with fine hair have mentioned that this product weighed their hair down – and I can confirm that while this product made my hair look much healthier, I did notice a reduction in volume. This is a heavier, more dense hair oil than others that I've used. If you are looking to use a hair oil & still maintain volume, I'd suggest a lighter hair oil like Kerastase or Opalex. Compared to Kerastase or Opalex hair oils, I have noticed that this Moroccanoil oil seems to last longer – I currently am on day 3 of my hair and applied a nickle-sized amount of this oil once before I blow-dried my hair on day 1, and my ends are still silky smooth & I have not had to reapply. Whereas when I have used Kerastase or Opalex hair oils in the past, I've had to apply them 1-2x daily to continuously see results. This product also makes my hair feel clean after use – with other hair oils, my hair has felt like it has a residue on it. There’s so many things to list out for this moroccanoil treatment serum that I love so very much! I love the smell! It’s very calming. I use it after my showers and lightly finger it throughout the mid and ends of my wet hair, then I take my wet-hair detangling brush and gently brush through my hair to detangle and distribute the product (serum). once my hair air drys (yes, I’m one of those people but my hair thanks me for it!) my hair looks like I’ve had a team of people working on it for hours. It’s incredibly soft, easy to manage, my natural waves are much more defined, my hair overall feels healthier and more resilient and finally, the scent lasts for several days and so do the results. Long term I feel as though this will be what my hair has been begging me for! I’ve let my beautiful momma borrow the bottle so that she can experience what I’ve been ranting and raving about for days now. I was given this product by #Influenster and #Sebastian for my fair and honest review. I am 56 and have thin, fine hair. My hair is shoulder length and thinning due to RA medications. My hair has just enough wave to it to be annoying, lol. Not enough to blow and leave natural, so I typically use a flat iron to straighten the waves. Generally, within a couple of hours the few waves that I have come back and my hair looks like I didn’t even bother to style it. With Sebastian Shaper Medium Hold I was able to actually get a bit of height with my hair and the gold was really great. I used a flat iron and styled it and several hours later it continued to hold. My hair was not stiff and I do tend to touch my hair often, so this hairspray has excellent endurance. I also am in love with the light scent that it has. Does not smell at all like typical hair spray. I will definitely be buying this product again. I really really wanted an edge control product that was easy to use and quick. This product has a thicker and less "wet" consistency than gel but a bit softer than other pomades I have used. The trick is to not use too much or you will end.up with a white cast when it dries. A small amount can go a long way so be careful! I love using this with my twists and bantu knot styles. I sometimes will spray Got 2 B Glued spray in conjunction with this for extra hold, but again, I try to be careful with the amount to avoid the white cast. I have not been successful yet since I'm a little too excited about sculpting my edges, but I'll get it right. I recommend this product as I've used a few edge control products and this one seems to have a balance between moisture and hold. It doesn't leave your edges rock hard, they will likely move out of place when you're sleeping unless you tie a scarf on them. I never have to worry that it will do any damage.vonya.b
The packaging is nice and plenty comes into the container since you don’t have to apply that much to hair. I dabbed my index finger and spread it through baby hairs along with any hairs I wanted to lay flat. I went hours with the product on my head, sweating a whole lot, and my hair still held without feeling heavy, greasy, or gelled down. My hair felt pretty natural and I loved the smell. The sweet smell stayed with me all day. I’m very satisfied with this product. As you can tell with my photo, I did not gel the ponytail itself to show the difference. There was no frizz after using this product to my top hairs by my forehead. Clearly the hairs without the product had frizz. This product did its job wonderfully! I honestly have fallen in love with this product! I am a 3b – 3c curl type and being "in between" makes it tricky to find the exact curling products that work for textured hair. This product is amazing to say the least! It isn't sticky or tacky feeling and leaves behind no residue. My son's mixed and he has the most perfect elegant edges I've ever seen. This nourishing hair oil from Sol de Janeiro performs pretty well, and I love that it has the classic scent from their Bum Bum cream! The bottle is beautiful and made of weighted glass, giving it a lux feel. The formula is rich and definitely on the thicker side, but once warming in between my fingers I am able to apply it easily. Just 1-2 pumps is enough to disperse throughout my ends to mid-length without going overboard (I have relatively long hair). I can also confirm that it works to calm frizzies, makes my hair more manageable and gives a nice shine. While it is nourishing to a degree as well, I wish it delivered more moisture into my hair. Adding more doesn’t seem to do much for hydration, while adding too much just makes my hair look greasy and slick as expected. I really enjoy this hair oil, especially the smell! The fragrance is the same as the original fragrance in the rest of the line. The smell is really heavy, but not overwhelming. It does calm down, but you’ll still be able to smell it all day. I have long thick hair with dry ends and rely on oils and and sprays to keep it soft and manageable. Most oils I will use a dime sized portion, but this product comes in a glass bottle with a dispenser that only puts out one drop at a time. The consistency is tick, even sticky, more like a serum than a runny oil. Being so thick, using more than a drop or 2 does leave my hair greasy. It’s well worth the price and I’ll definitely repurchase for the fragrance alone, but it won’t replace my other products that I still need for tangles and frizz. My only real complaint is that a glass bottle and oily hands don’t mix – I’ve dropped it several times and worry it will shatter one of these days. Ok, so I bought this on the app early access day and will give my honest review. I use many different oils as I like to switch up my products every time I wash my hair, including Moroccan oil, olaplex oil, Dae prickly pair oil, ouia oil, gisou and briogeo don’t despair repair hair oil. Compared to all of those, this is by far the thickest oil for sure. I have thick straight hair and a lot of it, so I can get away with a good amount of oil. I am a stay at home mom so I have times where I actually use products to style my hair, and times where I put in more nutrient moisturizing products to just let it sit in a bun. This oil is definitely better distributed on damp hair, on dry hair it’s kind of thick and skips as you run your fingers through but I have to say it smells AMAZING and does have a few unique ingredients which I look for when buying hair care. With that being said this is definitely more of a treatment oil for me that a styling oil and it gives self care vibes with the smell so I give it a 5 star! Would be nice if it was slightly less thick but I’m sure that’s due to the unique ingredients. Sorry for the long review! Immediately upon receiving this complimentary bottle of Potion 9 leave in treatment from Influenster and Sebastian Professionals; for testing purposes, I put it to use and I must say that this should be called “Magic Potion #9”! Not only did it magically tame my naturally curly hair from frizzy and unruly to manageable and looking healthy, it also magically disappeared. I liked the texture, it was a lightweight, smooth and silky like texture; not sticky. I mostly applied it when my hair was completely dry, using it to refresh my hair during times it looked too frizzy or unruly. I would spritz my hair with water and then apply Potion 9 mostly at the ends and wherever it needed it. I used this almost everyday. I received this serum complimentary for my review. When I received this hair treatment, I was excited as my chemically treated hair has been looking brassy/dry. After shampooing and conditioning, I used a couple of pumps and ran it through my hair focusing on my ends. I noticed it has a slight scent and oxidizes to an orangey color. When my hair dried, it was soft and less frizzy which I liked. I used it later on my dry hair and as you can see on the photo, it helped smooth out my ends. I would like this product more if it was scentless as my husband has terrible allergies. I’ve been using it when I travel without him as I really like the product!samantha .p
I received this product from influencer.com and sebastian.com to try for my honest opinion. I gave this a three star because while I loved the smell of it my partner did not. It didn't seem to do a lot for my hair other than maybe make it a little softer. I tried this with wet and damp hair and did not any difference than normal. The bottle is very nice. And works very well by just simply pushing down on the pump. Like I said I enjoyed the scent and it seems to stay in your hair for quite a while however my partner could not stand me wearing it. The other thing that made me go with a three-star is because if you put too much product in your hair it becomes very sticky and tacky the way that you can fix that is by letting it air dry and then using a brush to brush your comb it out and then the stickiness will be gone. i use this every now and then as a leave in conditioner. it's a light weight mousse, AND it smells very good. i make sure i always have this on hand. i have combination hair, greasy roots but color treated ends. so it works well because i can mainly focus on the parts that need it most. leaves hair soft and smelling great after use.smc
First, I love the texture of this product. It truly is whipped, light, fluffy moisture giving goodness. Though it is not heavy enough on it's own or mixed with Potion 9 to stop my coily hair from claiming real-estate closer to my skull for wash and go, I think it would be perfect for a flexirod set. In comparison to mousse type products that I have used in the past, there is no sticky feel. Another plus of the Potion 9+whipped creme combo is that it mixes well with others and can be refreshed by shower steam or damp hands in the shower with no additional product. This is the only gel that makes me hair curly/ wavy after I put it on, I don’t need to scrunch my hair to see results, it just starts to curl. After that of course I scrunch it to my desire of curliness* but this is in my top 5 of gels. I don’t like gels bc they contain a lot of harsh stuff that can damage and dry out your hair but this here is the best! You won’t go wrong and the smell is like.. in between masculine and feminine. I can’t describe the smell but in my opinion is smells great. Definitely not fruity, it’s smells woodsy I guess but again I’m not good at describing this. I have fine curly hair that misbehaves between cuts, especially if I’m trying to grow it out. A combination of this product and the REDKEN CURVACEOUS RINGLET works really well as leave in conditioning products. I adjust the balance as my hair grows. If I need more weight I use slightly more of this product. If my hair is long enough and has good weight and needs definition or fly away management, I use the other.Donna T

I bought the Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Pomade to use on my relaxed hair. This was my first time purchasing from Carol's Daughter and I thought I could include the pomade in my hair care routine and was eager to use a product with "natural ingredients" for women of color. The package states it is for "dry, brittle and textured hair" so I thought it would be perfect since my hair since it is on the drier side, and I want to add some moisture to it. The first thing I noticed about this product is the smell. I thought it smelled great even though some people have noted they didn't like the smell from the reviews I read. The problem I had with this product is after I applied a small amount to my hair and scalp, I experienced some intense itching on my scalp within hours after use. The itching worsened and the next morning, I had uncontrollable itching to the point where my scalp felt like it was burning. I had to wash/shampoo it out of my hair right away! After washing it out, the itch was gone, however, my scalp was red and sore from the itching. I also noticed the my thighs were covered in hundreds of hives! I am not exaggerating either. It was bad! I had to rush to the drug store to get allergy medication/antihistamine! This will be the last time I would ever use a product from the Carol's Daughter line. I wouldn't want anyone to experience what I went through either. I don't know what it is in the pomade that caused the allergic reaction. I have never had any allergic reactions to any hair care products before, including hair dye. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product to anyone.Melissa
This is a natural, sweet smelling, non staining, twice a week hair food. To be fair, I like the brand. I got hooked via the store front in Brooklyn. The fact that Target carries this product line is impressive. That 2 of my local Target stores has become inconsistent in stocking core Carol’s Daughter products is troubling. #BlackHairCare is real. Finding healthy, non damaging products is rare. I’d rather see a well stocked Carol’s Daughter selection than Afro Sheen, Cocoa Butter, or Dark & Lovely anything. I’m a Latina with long frizzy when humid, non texture hair. I wanted to try a product that would moisturize my dry hair. Read a lot of positive reviews about Carol’s Daughter but was hesitant to try it because I have non textured hair. First time I tried it with recently washed hair. It helped detangle my hair. It was easy to comb my hair but unfortunately when my hair dried it was so greasy it looked like I hadn’t washed my hair. So I decided to use the pomade as a before washing treatment for my hair. Left it on for about two hours before washing my hair with L’Oréal Everpure detox shampoo. Again easy to comb while still wet. When my hair dried I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t frizzy. My hair was so soft and healthy looking. Would definitely recommend for non textured hair but as a before washing treatment. I gave this product a second chance because I did not want to waste by throwing it away and it was totally worth it.Astrid

I've used Redken United 21 for years. I have learned it's good to try new products every now and then, because something might be a bit better than what you're used to. Recently, my long, fine colored hair was still somewhat dry after using the Redken product. After a little research, I decided to try this. Plus I love the Colorwow shine spray, anti frizz spray, and money mask – all are awesome products. I tried two pumps of this leave in today, and was super impressed. My hair was so smooth and sleek afterwards, and after giving it a quick curl with a 1" barrel, it had some volume to it that stuck around. So although it says for medium to thick hair, this works really well on my fine hair. And it's not so heavy that it won't let the hair hold a gentle curl or fall flat. Colorwow products are great! I can't believe how silky soft and frizz free my hair is after using this, and it really does last the 3 washes! My hair is like GLASS! and this is coming from a girl who has such thick frizzy hair that has had alot of chemical damage over the years. I was nearly at my wits end as every product I seemed to use didn't cut it, and was still struggling with dry hair and split ends, however this product has made my hair LUXURIOUS!. After using it when I blow dry it my brush glides through my hair like silk and don't have half as much split ends! I very much enjoy this [brand:color-wow] Dream Cocktail Kale I fusion. It’s a treatment product when applied to damp hair followed by heat styling, activates and helps to reduce breakage and strengthen hair while providing some heat protection. I don’t always blow dry my hair, so I reserve this product for when I do. I split my hair into two section and apply two pumps to each on damp hair, and then wait a few minutes before I begin blow drying with a round brush. The product is a thin cream with slip, so as long as I don’t overuse it, I do not feel like my hair has product or a weighed down feeling to it. I’m about 1/2 through the bottle, and while I do think it’s effective to prevent damage. I’m not sure that it’s a miracle product in terms of repair. I do like it though and my hair looks smoother when heat styled if this is in the routine, so I will continue to use it. There are two other varieties to this product I do plan to try. My stylist recommended this hair spray 20 years ago, and I've never switched since then. It lasts forever – one small bottle lasts me almost a year for my short hair! It doesn't leave a sticky residue, and I don't need to use clarifying shampoo. It's becoming harder to find in my community, though. Please don't stop making it!!redtopgirl
This is a great gel spray, which are hard to find these days. It's not very expensive and a little goes a long way. It definitely weighs my wavy hair down a bit, but does separate my curls and fights frizz. I use it after I've added a little gel or cream and it works best that way for my hair. I have used this hairspray for at least 25 years! It is THE best not only for finishing touch. I use for volume and working with my hair too. Just a couple pumps will do in my medium length hair. I'd read the information about this treatment for the hair and never thought for a minute that it would actually work, I however, was completely wrong. As someone who is hormonal with coloured hair, ever time I was etc, there would be hair wrapped around my fingers or stuck in the comb where I'd combed through conditioner. That was not the case here. I started by dampening my hair as per the instructions and massaged the bonding treatment through my hair which felt odd as a step I'd never taken before washing previously. I then took the recommended amount of the shampoo and massaged into a leather and rinsed. This is where I was surprised, there was maybe one or two hairs on my hands when rinsing, I check that there wasn't a load around my feet in the shower but no, they were still attached to my head! I then applied the conditioner and rinsed as I normally would. After towel drying, I'd expect there to be breakage stuck in my brush , there just wasn't! I'm amazed! I'm going to continue to used and see if the horrible stray little snapped hairs can finally be gone.Jo
My hair has been highlighted for years, religiously every 6 weeks. A few weeks ago I got a magic sleek treatment and I left with fried orange hair. This was my second treatment and the first was great so I don't say it's the product but instead I think this stylist used too much heat. I used olaplex 3 after and some deep conditioning masks. They helped some but my hair still looked very unhealthy. I tried this redken line and my hair looks like it did before…smooth shiny soft and healthy! I used the treatment and left it in for 20-30 minutes. Then washed with the shampoo and conditioner (I let the conditioner sit for about 10 minutes). I finished with the leave in and my hair looks so great. If you have any damage, I highly recommend this. This will be my daily shampoo conditioner and leave in from now on. I'm going to have my teenage daughter use it too since she recently got highlights and started straightening her hair more.Sharon
I'll be honest, the first time I tried the trio (concentrate, shampoo, conditioner) I didn't think it did much besides making my hair slightly softer and smelling delicious. I refrained from leaving a review until I gave it some time. Three weeks later, my hair already feels and looks healthier. It's gained back some shine and it's easier to style. I use all three products every time I wash my hair but noticed that leaving the concentrate on for 30-60 mins under a shower cap works best for my hair. My hair is long, highlighted, very dry, but not fried. It's fine-medium thickness and I have tons of it. Each time I've used the Redken trio my hair felt weightless and amazing in the shower. Not many products work for me and I've tried many many expensive treatments including Olaplex. Olaplex was great but stopped working as well for me after using for a year. Instead of a refill I decided to take a chance with Redken. Love that it's free of harsh chemicals and did I mention it smells so good? Not overpowering.
