I have straight fine hair but it is very thick in certain areas, and gets very frizzy and puffy without a serum and without being blow dried. This is the first product I've used from this brand and not only would I repurchase, I will look into buying other products because this one works so well. It makes my hair sleek and exceptionally shiny without drying it out (the only other product that makes my hair gleam like this is BioSilk which really dries out my hair), it's soft and polished and my frizz and flyaways are very well controlled, even in humid weather. I mix it with a lighter, more fluid oil to make it more viscous and easier to apply throughout my damp hair before I blow dry-brush it and I look like I've come from the salon every single time I use this. I also really like that it is a heat protectant too so I don't have to use multiple products in my hair. This did everything it claimed to on my hair, and yes there is very noticeable glitter in the product which gets left behind on your hands but it comes off when you rinse your hands under water so that's not even an issue.theb

I just got my hair done. I have a thick but wavy hair type. I got a blonde bolyage and normally my hair stands strong to being dyed. This time, I had some remnants of a previous hair dye and it made the bottom of my hair frizzy, damaged, and hard to maintain. Most importantly, my hair had a hard time transitioning from being down to being put up (in a bun, ponytail, etc.). I looked for a solution and came across this product and figured, with the price, it was worth a try. After one use, my hair feels great! It’s soft and sleek and I can put it up easily again. When I first dispensed the product, I was a bit concerned because it was very oily (to me, anyway) and I worried that it wouldn't absorb into my hair. But it actually did nicely, so that was a relief. The scent is light and I like it. Color Wow Pop & Lock Fizz Control and Glossing Serum worked quite well on my dry, (frizzy!) hair. From a lot of over-processing in the past, not too many products can decrease the frizz that much. I tried the serum on both wet and dry hair. On my wet hair I really was hoping that it would tame my frizz and it actually did a great job. On dry hair I was hoping for some shine to brighten up my dull hair. I worked it through the mid-shaft and it did a pretty good job making my hair look a bit shinier. The only negative I'd say is that the product claims to lock in your hair's color and add improve the texture. I didn't find that happened for me at all. But all in all I would say this is a good product for frizz control and shine, and especially if you are like me and have a difficult time finding a product that works well on frizzy hair.Seaangel4444

I have think fine lightened wavy hair. This shampoo is a perfect everyday shampoo to alternative with more specialised shampoos when needed (purple, scalp etc). It smells so good. I wish Paul Mitchell had a matching conditioner. I have oily skin/hair and find I get average to maybe a day longer in between washes with this. Also finding with regular use i don’t need my scalp shampoo as often.Michaela M.

I like purchasing this product when my favorite products aren’t in stock! This shampoo will last you a long time and smells very good! My hair feels great after pairing it with other Paul Mitchell conditioners, but while rinsing it out, my hair feels very dry so that is why it has a four star review. I feel like it takes a lot of the hydration out and I think that’s a great thing if your hair gets easily oily but if not, this probably isn’t the greatest for you. I will continue to buy this as my backup since the smell lasts long and my hair feels fine as long as I use conditioner afterwards!april.j

I bought this shampoo to use on ocassion in between my regular hair shampoo. I thought it would be a good mild, cleanser, but bc of my current hair type, it caused very bad knots and tangles in my hair. For that reason, I returned it. It smelled great and cleaned my hair well, but bc of the knots, it didn't work for me I have shoulder length, straight, fine hair, naturally dark blonde highlighted to light blonde.Rebecca

where have you been my entire life? I have very thick course hair and I love it long. I also have a lot of gray in my roots so it gets wiry, and lets not omit the part where I insist my hairstylist texturized and razors my hair (she fights me every single time) for layers and thinning purposes. It is literally a recipe for hair trauma. I have jumped from brand to brand….some inexpensive but mostly the most expensive trying every one that says "repair, hydrate, bonding". Lets not forget no one really likes first and second day hair so all the products I add to give me third day hair is also added into the mix. Long story short? This is the first time my hair is happy, shiny and NOT weighed down or fly away. I only wash my hair once a week so the clarifying shampoo is perfect for not only buildup but scalp health. I have used both shampoo and conditioner twice and by the second time the results are STUNNING. I now have salon worthy blowouts in my own home. My hair is SHINY. It's healthy and it smells amazing. I was so excited to try the new Olaplex No.4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo and was not disappointed! I start off by applying weekly in place of my regular shampoo to my wet hair at the scalp working to ends, working it into a lather, letting it sit for around 5 minutes to fully penetrate and process, rinse and follow with conditioner. This shampoo really does an amazing job clarifying my hair without leaving it feeling it dry like many others do because it is pH balanced. It removes buildup, damaging impurities, excess oil, pollution, heavy metals, and hard water minerals which basically covers so many things and what more could I personally ask for in a clarifying shampoo I ask myself? This shampoo also has Olaplex patented bond building technology so as I cleanse my hair it maintains strong hair bond which is so exciting in for me in this product that it has this too! My hair honestly felt and looked dull in all ways and the texture you could tell had buildup and afterwards my hair was was soft, voluminous, shiny, renewed textured, and more vibrant color too which I honestly was surprised by! I bought the travel size of this shampoo to test out how it would do on my hair before I splurged on the big bottle. I was also a bit wary of the reviews that claimed it caused hair loss. I have wavy and thick hair with low porosity. I have a very dry, itchy, flakey scalp as well. I read that tea tree oil could help soothe your scalp, so I thought I would try it. I washed my hair as directed. Used about 3 dime sizes for my whole head and massaged it into my scalp. It lathers alright. Not much suds. That made me think that it wasn't cleaning my hair enough so I was tempted to put more shampoo on my head but I did not. The smell is very strong, but it does not linger in your hair post-wash. Usually, my head begins to itch after I wash my hair, but with this shampoo, there was no itch! So I was pleasantly surprised by that. I finished off my hair with the tea tree special conditioner. After I finished showering and dried my hair with a microfiber towel, I noticed no residue on my hair and it felt very clean! I couldn't see any flakes and my scalp wasn't itchy! Just from this, I am very impressed with this shampoo. To address the hair loss comments, I did not notice any significant hair loss when I used the shampoo. I am the type to shed a lot of hair as it is since I have thick hair. I also wash my hair about once a week, so I tend to lose a bit of hair because of that because stray hairs build up over that time. So this might not be good for someone who has thin hair or shampoos frequently. But for me, it works great. Hair loss was about the same or slightly less than usual. I washed my hair about 5 days ago and my hair is a lot less flakey and itchy. It still feels relatively clean with some oil started to build up on my hair. Best shampoo out there for oily dandruff ! Used a $400 prescription shampoo for 15 years and of course it worked, however one just can't Afford to keep using a $400 shampoo every day at a 30 day prescription. I'm a licensed stylist and always heard and was taught that Tea Tree has healing ingredients that Actually work . Never had the chance to use it. One day I thought, I should go to my supply store and try some myself. It worked after only 1 use ! Paul Mitchell has the Best professional products out there ! I got the shampoo and conditioner combo and used it for the first time today. Here are my thoughts: The "tingly" feeling is real. At first I thought it was burning my scalp but it's not. I have extreme dandruff and have tried RX shampoos to help that never worked. My scalp at least "feels" clean. I've seen a lot of reviews about hair falling out and mine did not at all. I have hashimotos disease which causes hair loss to an extreme so I expected clumps again. NOPE. Make sure to brush through your hair before you wash it! This prevents any extra breakage. The small is very strong. I love essential oils for their healing properties but the smells are awful. No exception here! Any tee tree product will smell like this BTW. DISCLAIMER: tee tree can be poisonous in raw form. If you have allergies, do not use this. For people with psoriasis this will not be for you. Keep out of reach from pets as it is poisonous to cats and dogs even as a topical product. Anything with essential oil products can be potentially dangerous and I urge you to research before you buy! For me personally, I think it works great and a lot of the negative comments here are from user error but that's just my opinion.Kelsey

Holy smokes does this thing curl! I've been staying away from T3 products because years ago Id purchased the flat iron and blow dryer and both were horrible! I couldn't give those things away. Fast forward to now and I needed a 1.5 " curling iron which GHD does not sell. I've had this for over a week and i literally have not used my GHD curling wand, flat iron or 1.25 curling iron. Why? Because this rivals GHD and my curls are smooth and effortless. Now with that being said, the curls do not last until the next morning, but they never did on my thick coarse wavy hair anyway. Another plus is that if I don't have time to curl my hair, I can just run it thru with a slight uplifting curl at the bottom. Looks super cute. I'm impressed.Fresca

I really love how the 1.25 barrel can create texture and volume with my long hair. This iron does a nice job making an effortless wavy look. The long barrel allows me to wrap my entire hair length to evenly distribute heat. I found my hair to glide smoothly across the surface of the barrel. I appreciate the 5 heat settings especially as I like to use lower heat with my finer hair around my face and higher heat with my courser hair in the back. Love that you can get curls/waves with one pass. I also really appreciate the swivel cord and 1 hour auto shut off. I did have a little difficulty curling the back of my head and wish the iron was a little lighter, but overall it’s one of the better ones I’ve tried.Bunnybutt531

I love this curling Iron because it has 5 settings and a long barrel, and the barrel is 1.25 inches. It's so pretty and it makes my hair look so nice. The curls last longer than my last iron. One pass was a 24-hour hold. It created big Curls and waves. This is the best curling iron I've ever owned! I cut the time it used to take to curl my hair down to 5 minutes where is used to take over 15! This curling iron holds curls like no other! I’ve been curling my hair for my whole life and this tool by far is the best I’ve ever used. I do have curly hair already but with an Iron it looks more polished and takes away my frizzy ends. This used to be really good. My hairdresser used it on my hair once and it was so good I went out and bought my own. Loved it. Left my hair soft and completely frizz and flyaway free. I was so happy to find something weightless to achieve that and that felt like water on my hair instead of a heavy cream or serum. Then all of a sudden they decided to change the formula. Why did they have to do that?! The new formula had a strong smell and it actually created frizz in my hair, so bad that it lost all shape. Day 2 and 3 it started feeling stringy at the ends. I hated it. Now I’ll have to look for a new product to use that’ll hopefully give me the previous results. If they did this with their other products they’ll become the next DevaCurl. I have dirty blonde, thick, wavy, slightly frizzy hair, and I have never found a hair product that gave me soft, defined, frizz-free curls. This product gives me just that! I cannot believe that I finally found a product that leaves my hair soft and my curls defined. I was mesmerized by the results! Directions for use: After taking a shower, either towel dry, wring out, or air dry your hair until it is still wet, but not damp and full of water. Next, with a wide-tooth comb, brush hair so that there are no knots. Then, layer by layer, pick up pieces of your hair and spray thoroughly, making sure that you are spraying the sections where you want your curls/waves defined. I go ahead and spray my entire head of hair – BC IT'S JUST THAT GOOD! Comb through after spraying. After about 30 minutes to an hour, I go back and brush out my hair with the wide-tooth comb again, just to make sure my hair doesn't get crunchy. If you don't comb your hair again after spraying, your hair may end up more crunchy than you'd want; if you do comb it again, your hair will have no crisp, and it will be as soft as can be. I have very naturally curly hair and have tried an extremely wide variety of products and brands over the years. I was very skeptical with this one claiming to be all products in one, but it truly is. I couldn’t believe what my hair looked like when all I did was spray it in, comb it through, and let air dry. Because it is light it does not weigh my curls down and my hair dries quicker as well because I’m not using heavier styling creams or gels. I’m really pleased with this product. I even love the removable lock on the sprayer so you can take it with you without any mess. Where they could improve is the shape of the bottle. The rectangle is not the easiest to handle. Also, if you have longer hair like I do, the whole bottle was gone in about five uses. Please sell travel size and jumbo refills. Thanks!squirrelydevil

I had blond balayage done to my hair and that damaged it. I read the reviews about this product, most good and a mixture of bad. When I saw the bad reviews talking about hair snapping off, I thought it was just due to the persons hair being so damaged and thought I'd give it a try. Well my hair started snapping off, every single day, some pieces long and ranging to tiny specks of hair. I have had my hair damaged horribly in the past to the point it took forever to dry and leaving burnt coarse ends. My hair did have a few areas of burnt ends but not as severe as previous experiences. So I kept using the treatment products and it kept raining pieces of my hair throughout the day. I've never had this happen even with extremely damaged hair. Sure pieces broke off but nothing like this. When the pieces snapped initially I thought it was due to the damaged ends. But then it never stopped. Smooth bits about a quarter inch kept shedding off. I couldn't wear dark shirts without constantly wiping hair bits off of it. After about a month I believed the reviews and stopped using the products. My hair slowly started snapping off less and less but I'm not sure if it was because the majority was already gone. So now my hair is varied lengths and extremely thinned out due to the different lengths it broke off. I'm not saying this product isn't good or bad because a lot of people love it but I strongly suggest not using this product if you have bleach damage without consulting your hair stylist first or having a treatment of some type done professionally. Before getting my hair to the shade it is now, I had several appointments slowly lightening my hair over roughly 6 months with hair treatments in between to maintain the health. I will never use this product again. And the snapping people comment about is real and with extreme hair thinning.Lisa R

I was someone who used to think that nothing could actually repair the bonds of your hair from the inside, especially because it went against everything I ever learned in cosmetology school, but that was 30 years ago and technology has changed, the proof is in the chemistry. I completely clarified my hair and then started using only Olaplex products exclusively. I used the entire line as recommended for damaged hair for 4 months, including number one in my hair color touch ups, and now I am a firm believer that it really does repair bonds as they claim because there is no other explanation for the positive change in my mid back length, color treated, and highlighted hair. I went from dull hair that was always tangled and broke so easily, to much healthier, shiny, soft, full hair. Despite having a lot of hair, it's very fine and before Olaplex, I could never achieve fullness without using a ton of product which was counterproductive. Usually conditioners, treatments, and masks, would weigh my hair down, but not Olaplex, it gives me the natural fullness I want without any styling product or weighing my hair down. And their purple shampoo, I can't say enough good things about it either! It is super concentrated so you need only the tiniest bit for the best results and the fact that the other products help color last longer, you don't need to use it as often as other toning shampoos, but when they say leave it on no more than two minutes, they mean it! If you use too much or leave it in too long, it will tint your hair rather than just tone it. The only Olaplaex product I don't use is the oil. Other than that, they would have to pry Olaplex from my hands. I highly recommend the entire line and starting with completely clarified hair prior to starting and use Olaplex exclusively for a few months to achieve the best results. I normally don't leave reviews, but this product is amazing. I have very thick, frizzy, wavy, long hair. I'm Puerto Rican and Mexican. I normally flat iron my hair, so I don't have to deal with my unruly hair. This shampoo and conditioner is a game changer. I now wear my natural hair everyday. My hair now shows the definition of all my waves with no frizz. My hair doesn't look weighed down, and did I mention how very silky soft my hair is? When I read the claims in other reviews, I was somewhat skeptical. But…I am here to tell you to believe the hype. I started my curly girl journey about 4 years ago after 20 years of blowouts and straightening my natural 3c curls. My hair is long (mid-back) fairly thick, and somewhat porous even though it is extremely healthy after I stopped burning it every day. Only pros: you need much less of this conditioner than others (I have tried them all from drugstore to high end). Plenty of slip. Decent fragrance but utterly forgettable. The bounce and definition this stuff provides by itself (no additional products after wash) is insane. The $80 price tag for the large container seemed ridiculous and gross until I tried it and saw how little I actually had to use compared to my favorite go-to (biolage three butter) now tragically and stupidly discontinued with no similar or suitable replacement from that line. But an-t-way, this is not a substitute for my previous product, but it IS a whole new and fantastic situation. Like ordering a slice of pizza and receiving a free fifth of absolut instead. I received this product complimentary from Bumble and bumble. After washing my hair, I rinse and follow with this conditioner. I apply the conditioner to my hair with my fingers and apply it evenly from mid-lengths to my ends. I then leave it in for about a minute or two and rinse my hair. It has a creamy, smooth texture and I love the beautiful fragrance of this conditioner. The conditioner moisturizes my hair and tames my frizz and defines my waves without weighing my hair down. My hair feels soft, looks shiny and healthy. After using this conditioner, it is easy to comb through my hair without any tangles and it is easy to style my hair. I've been using this shampoo and conditioner for just over a year now. Not really realizing my hair was getting thinner and dryer each time I washed and conditioned it. Having horrible split ends constantly even after cutting them. Months later realizing my hair was in fact very thin. In panic I tried different things to help my hair grow back, not knowing it was my shampoo and conditioner causing the hair thinning. I changed my diet, chopped my hair to see if that would help with split ends and dryness but they would Immediately come back. I never processed my hair and completely stopped using heat. I never bush my hair until it's almost dry and don't go to bed with wet hair. I use a silk pillow case. Trying everything to protect my hair and after doing some research, I found out after using this product over a year that the shampoo and conditioner itself was the problem. Hates coconut oil and protein – my hair gets very brittle and destroyed Since I have lower porosity hair, it takes forreeevverrr to fully wet it. I usually spend the first few minutes massaging my head/roots under the water to get it saturated. I have to shampoo twice in order to actually get a decent lather and feel like my scalp is getting clean. Sometimes I just use the green NYMN shampoo that I have as the first shampoo, but really quick cause that one tends to dry out my scalp. So I pretty much just distrubute the shampoo through my roots enough to help wet my hair more and then use the PM shampoo and really massage my scalp and make sure everything is nice and clean. I use about a nickle/quarter sized glob and that seems to be enough as long as I've already done the first quick shampoo. The smell is nice and pleasant and like the conditioner, I have no complaints. It lathers up really nicely, but rinsing out it does feel a little squeaky clean, but I guess that's kind of normal with shampoos (especially if it has sulfates). I only use this shampoo like once a month (in rotation with other products I use that are sulfate-free), so I don't really notice anything negative. My scalp doesn't get itchy, but it doesn't completly cure it. I still get kind of itchy a day after it's been washed, but I'm not sure what the cause of that is from. Possibly just being dry? It doesn't really help my frizz either but doesn't make it terribly worse like some shampoos have done. Overall, I really like using this duo when I want a good cleaning. It's not a magical aftermath for my hair and I still have frizz, BUT I was actually surprised at how soft my hair felt when it dried. The saying a little goes a long way applies here. I used less than a quarter size dollop to wash my past shoulder length hair. The lather was amazing, and let's not forget the the lovely citrus smell. My curls have stayed in days longer than with any other curl shampoo. Aveda products have a great reputation and is a well known stable product. I tried this shampoo for approximately 6 months and it didn't suit my curly/wavy hair. Nice looking professional packing that smells delightful. Unfortunately I am unable to list and visible benefits to the appearance/texture of my hair so promptly stopped using it. So sorry to say this isn't for me, we are all different. I would recommend try before you buy if possible. I personally will not be using again. I had used this shampoo many years ago and recalled it being a nice, basic product. Really liked that it was cruelty free too! I purchased a full liter bottle in September thinking it was a sound investment. Over time I noticed that I was shedding a lot more hair than usual — my brushes were loaded with loose hairs, my shower drain was clogging, and I was finding fallen strands all over the place. I love Paul Mitchell products and the fact they are cruelty free and don't break the bank like some other hair care brands. However, I felt compelled to share my experience with this shampoo since I didn't see other reviews that did. I used this shampoo for about 6 weeks when I realized that it was causing little pimple-like bumps all over my scalp, and I realized I was also breaking out more around my hairline on my face. On top of that, I was noticing more hair than usual in my brush every time I would brush my hair but I thought maybe it was just me overthinking. Only in the last couple weeks I realized that my hair didn't actually feel as thick as it usually did and that's when I finally realized that I had lost a significant enough amount of hair from this shampoo that it was time to stop before I did further damage. It makes me sad to have to stop using it since I went out on a limb and got the big bottle. Lesson learned I guess!Deidra

I’ve used Pert on and off for many years, I’ve always loved this product as it was a thick formula that made my thick hair soft and manageable. Something was definitely wrong with this pump bottle I ordered online from Walmart. Received with the cap partially unscrewed and about 1/4 product spilled out in the box. Used the product that night and it was so watered down, took 8 pumps of shampoo to wash my hair. No lather at all! I put it aside for a few weeks and used another brand, which I decided I will stick with from now on, and tried out the Pert again tonight, even shook the bottle. Still watery. Done with Pert. It gets the job done and would probably be good For like vacation. However my husband complains it makes his hair greasy faster. I have oily hair and didnt notice any unusual greasiness in fact I think it made my hair less greasy. Its hard to tell. It seems adequately detangling to me and its easy to brush through wet hair after however I think it does leave the hair either dry or with a residue because my hair gets more unmanageable when using this.C.E.

I'm a budget minded person so I always start cheap. It went from Dollar Tree dandruff shampoo to the Equate dandruff shampoo. None of them worked and I tried almost everything. I was about to actually try Head and Shoulders or Selsum Blue until I see this shampoo at the very bottom and to the far right of all the shampoos. Green is my favorite color so since it was the only other shampoo I haven't tried I gave it a shot and I am so glad I did. I started noticing less flakes after about 3 days and I was flake free in about a week. When I tell you I cried tears of joy I am not lying. I've been embarrassed of getting haircuts or taking my baseball cap in public and wearing black shirts which are my favorite. I have used this shampoo for over a month now and there's still more than 3/4 left. That's how little you have to use. I finally got a haircut and my barber asked if I used the shampoo he recommended which was 2x the price and 3x smaller. Highly recommend!Customer

The home perm is very good.I have used this brand for over 20 years. But this time the delivery packaging was too poor, liquid things were sent in plastic bags. When the plastic bag was opened, there was a smell of solution, everything inside was scattered, and the solution leaked out from the mouth of the bottle. It used to be packed in a box.Hong

I bought this to perm my mother's hair. She has complained for a while now that her hair has gotten thinner. So I googled how to perm hair, ordered this perm and some rods, and got to work. The worst part was that it took so long to roll the hair on the rods. As you can see from the picture the curls turned out very well and really lasted a long time. I liked it so much that I ordered one and permed my own hair. This is the first perm I've had in several years! Mine also did well and I have so much more body. There was no noticeable damage to our hair. Mine is color treated, my mother's is not. I should note, too, that we both have thyroid issues but there was no problem with this perm "taking". This is packaged for shipping with inadequate padding. I have ordered several times recently and the boxes inside the shipping package are crushed, torn and damp from the permanent wave solution leaking. When I ordered this product before this was never a problem. Also the perm is excellent, when you get the kit in good condition.Sue

It's a bit pricey but trust me its worth it. I was tired of my hair feeling gross, dry on the ends and oily at the roots. I threw away all my other garbage shampoos and I finally found the shampoo of all shampoos. Def sticking with this one a little lathers up a bunch. I can go 2-3 days without looking like an oily mess. And it makes my hair smell soo good. Def worth the money if youre tired of your hair having build up.emily p.

So, I hesitated about writing this review because I don’t like to complain, and I did love this product when I first purchased it. My hair was soft, smelled great, and I even had people commenting on the health & shine it had. I loved this product so much I stocked up on it.

About a year into using this shampoo and conditioner duo along with the leave in treatment I noticed an unusual amount of hair fall. I thought nothing of it assuming it was my hair screaming at me for the heat/hair dye ect. However, I noticed it more and more and after 6 months of extreme shedding I decided I should look into what was going on. First i started taking supplements (Womens vitamins and biotin) assuming it was my dreadful diet to blame. No change. I put a shower head filter in to filter my shower water. No change. Then I went cold turkey on heat styling, and stopped using hair dye. Nothing seemed to help. I even bought different ‘it’s a 10’ products to try to “strengthen” my hair. I attempted to not wash my hair but once a week… still incredible amounts of fall out. I was lost. Finally I changed shampoo. I started noticing in the shower less and less fall out, soon brushing my hair produced less wads of hair to clean from my brush. It seems I have found the culprit. I have spent 6 months trying to identify what I was doing wrong, and all signs point to “it’s a 10”.

I’m posting this not out of anger, or spite, but because everywhere I looked I saw “how great” this product is …. I even asked my hair dresser what she recommended for hair fall and she asked what I use and I told her “it’s a 10” and she raves about how great the product is.

my hair is incredibly thin and I have little baby regrowth. I don’t want someone else to go through what I did and change shampoo when it’s too late. So if u r using it’s a 10 and noticing a lot of fall out… maybe it just doesn’t work for us?

I really like this shampoo and conditioner. It's a shame so many people left 1 star reviews because it just didn't work for them. It would be different if there was something wrong with customer service or the product itself. However, with skin care, nail care, and hair care so much of whether or not it'll work for you is left biology and body chemistry and you have to try different products to find the one that works with yours. So it's really unfair to leave negative reviews on products that don't match up with your unique chemistry.wifeofsauron

My stylist recommended this to me and I've been using it for almost three years. It's okay but I wish it held better, almost like a mousse does, without the consistency of mousse. I've tried Paul Mitchell's mousse and I didn't like it: It felt gluey and heavy. I have shoulder-length hair and I want something that I can use with a wide round brush that will hold without several sprays of product.Hudson Valley

Paul Mitchell Extra-body is an amazing product. I have fine hair an have used many different products over the years and this Extra-body Daily Boost is the only product that I have found that gives me lift without leaving my hair gummed up with a lot of product. I love the light feeling of this root lifter. The foams always feel heavy and sticky. I squirt this at the roots, message my scalp and blow dry as usual. Cannot even tell I have used it except for the extra lift I get at the roots!Renee

This is a really nice shampoo. I love the invisible oil line and have used multiple products and they all work so well together. I have dry ends, normal scalp thick wavy hair and wash my hair every 3 or 4 days. On wash days, I wash my hair once, rinse and wash a second time, and this shampoo cleanses all my hair while not drying it out. It foams nicely and leaves my scalp feeling clean without stripping it of any moisture. It does not irritate my scalp either. It works great as a first step before the conditioner from the same line. My hair feels clean but nourished. Highly recommend!ElenaP

I received this product complimentary from Bumble and bumble. This shampoo in combination with the conditioner leaves my dry hair so soft and moisturized without weighing down my hair or leaving any residue. My hair feels silky soft and my wavy, dry, frizzy hair looks smooth and healthy. I use a small amount to massage it into my hair and scalp and then rinse. The shampoo has a nice smooth texture and a beautiful light fragrance that is so luxurious. After rinsing my hair feel smooth and I follow with the conditioner to make styling easier. This is a beautiful shampoo to keep my hair soft, smooth and looking healthy and to tame my frizz!Hendrika

While this shampoo smells lovely it failed in actually cleaning my hair. I have wavy, colour treated hair. My hair is super long (below mid back) and dry from occipital bone down and normal at scalp. I wash my hair every 3rd shower because drying and straightening takes foreverrrrrrr so I need my shampoo to really clean my hair. After using this shampoo once my scalp was oily by the end of my workday on DAY 1! Super annoying when you usually don’t need to wash your hair daily. I think this shampoo would be fantastic for anyone who’s entire head of hair is extremely dry but for me it just wasn’t great. Bumble and Bumble make great products and I will still try anything they put out but unfortunately this one won’t be in my rotation.lesleyjacklyn

Classic hair grease. I gave it 4 stars, because it has questionable ingredients. I really don't like using petroleum-based products, especially on my kids, but my daughter's scalp and 4c hair loves this stuff. It really helps protect and moisturize her fragile edges and retain length. I use a little bit of this grease maybe once a month.lyra.s

When I first used this shampoo I hated how it felt. I thought it made my hair feel limp, almost sticky, and a bit greasy. I decided to keep using it since it didn't irritate my skin (I'm very sensitive and shampoos can cause eczema flares for me) and after 2 weeks of daily use I've noticed an incredible change in the feeling and appearance of my hair. Gone is the weird sticky feeling and now my hair is soft, shiny, bouncy, and healthy. My ends feel hydrated and so soft. I've even noticed less hairfall in the shower and in my brush as well. My scalp — normally irritated and itchy — feels normal and healthy. I think this shampoo is so gentle that if you were using something laden with silicones before it doesn't get the buildup off. I recommend using a clarifying shampoo and then integrating these products into your routine. I use this with the Formula 133 conditioner sold by Kiehl's. Highly recommend them both!Danielle

I am always amazed at the range of Kiehl's products – from daily skin care, to treatments, rich body care, family toiletry products, and hair care as well. I've been a fan of Kiehl's skincare for some time, but had never tried any of the haircare until I was given the Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner. This shampoo contains amino acid and coconut oil to clean the hair gently, as well as wheat proteins and wheat starch which are claimed to add body. It is described as suitable for all hair types and as a mild shampoo, gentle enough to use every day. It is free of silicone and parabens I am instantly attracted to anything coconut, it reminds me of the beach and summertime. So I would probably still like this product even if it didn't live up to it's claims! Fortunately, I am happy to report that it does. My hair, which is straight, quite fine but abundant, and coloured, felt soft and silky afterwards, and still had it's usual body. There was no issue at all with it feeling "weighed down" or limp – and I do know what that feels like, whenever I have my hair coloured. I have fairly dry, coloured hair with a slightly oily scalp, but both scalp and ends felt perfectly clean after using Amino Acid. It might be counter-intuitive to think of coconut oil with an oily scalp, but in this case it works.\n\nThe lather – I have to say it doesn't lather quite as well as my usual shampoo but, with an oily scalp, I naturally double shampoo. The first shampoo to remove any excess oil, the second to really clean the hair. On the second shampoo, with Amino Acid the lather is rich and creamy, exactly as I want, but also easy to rinse out. The coconut scent afterwards is wonderful, it lingers but is not overpowering. There is nothing better than having been at the beach, hot and sticky, and then washing all of that away with a coconut-scented product. It reminds me of those times.\n\nThe packaging is fairly plain, on the face of it – just a plastic bottle, but what I really like about Kiehl's packaging is the trademark cursive writing, and the fact that all the ingredients and directions are right there conveniently on the bottle,not on a leaflet, so you can read them clearly.\n\nThe price is the only drawback – it is very high for a product that will be used as often as a shampoo. So I would recommend that people use it as I do – as an extra summer shampoo for those times when you have been in the pool every day and need to step up the shampooing. \n\nAnne F.

I waited awhile to do this review, I wanted to see how my hair responded to using Kiehl's Since 1851 Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner. I have been using it for 5 months now and I am impressed. I have always been "cheap" when it has come to shampoo and conditioner, but I was having a lot of issues with my hair. My volume was flat, my natural waves always seemed limp, and the worst part was that every time I brushed or washed my hair I was pulling out clumps. I switched to Kiehl's and it is like night and day. My natural waves are back, my hair is growing back in areas where my hair was thinning, my hair isn't falling out by the bunches anymore and my hair is soft and has volume again. I also noticed that I have less issues with my hair feeling and looking greasy and I didn't even realize that was an issue prior to the switch. I convinced my mom to switch too and now this is the only shampoo and conditioner she will use as well!DazedFlamingo
