Best Hair Shaver For Men (2024 Update)

i liked the design and the concept of the trimmer… and I realized before i bought it that i would have to spend money before i found out if it was any good. But such is life, and it does look pretty nifty. Searching reviews wasn’t doing any good, nor were review videos off youtube. Every video and review online is sponsored by Philips, and they’ve cornered the market. Every “review” sounds like a infomertial. You just can’t get an honest opinion. So screw it- i just bought one with trepidation.

It’s been a year since then, and here’s my opinion for what it’s worth. The Philips OneBlade is JUNK! To begin with, i shave my face AND head and do so regularly. However, with three days growth, the blade wasn’t able to make it all the way through without being replaced- straight out the box.

The kicker? It has a 3 month shelf life before it won’t charge enough for a shave. That’s right, i’m on number four because they quit charging. All of them. Even now, i’m headed to court in a suit and tie, and half my face is shaved. the other half has a weeks growth from a holiday. I look like an idiot.

Try googling “OneBlade won’t Charge” and watch a new world open up before you. Thousands of people also have this issue, not to mention blade life when they cost a fortune.

Nothin beats an all in one face shaver when you don’t have to go back and forth between different styles of razor's. Philips Norelco OneBlade 360 Face has precise accuracy and gets a very close shave! I love how close it gets without having to use a straight razor. The blade and head of the shaver runs close to the skin to catch the smallest hairs and leaves it baby soft. I was surprised at how well it did with only one pass and hands down will use this one for every shave. Phillips designed this product with shaving in mind and in my several uses, I have yet to see the normal cuts you would get with a regular razor. My favorite part is how the blades line up my beard so easily without frustration. The slim design is easy to see around and fits in a travel bag perfectly. The battery is long lasting and charges very quick. This took over the #1 spot in my shave routine and has been going strong for me without an issue. Phillips nailed this one!!!AudiDad88

First time I used Oneblade I was amazed. Still today I use it almost always over other 3 types of razor I have. Razor(5 blade), trim razor rechargeable, and electric 3 head rechargeable are the three. They all work fine but the Oneblade does the job so much better. This is one of those products that you hope the manufacture doesn't ever discontinue. It is like nothing I have tried before, until you try you will not understand. I know I should tell you how smooth it is, how close it cuts, how it never cuts you, and it is amazing ability to get those curved areas of the face as easy as anything. If you purchase it and you do not like it I give, well it is not my product. But the faith in it is that strong you could put your promise on the product. I have used Braun electric shavers daily for the last 25 years and Remingtons before that. My Braun Series 7 sideburn trimmer broke this past week when I replaced the head so I was able to compare the two head to head. Braun 7 with a new foil head versus Series 9 Pro. The 9 Pro was a major improvement to the already fine Series 7 with a new head. I was amazed at the major difference of closeness of the shave and how efficient it was in requiring fewer passes to get a close shave. The shave with the Series 9 Pro was every bit as close as shaving with my Merzur safety razor. The new head design design on the Series 9 is clearly better plus there is a new feature that works really well. The head can be locked in a fixed position or used in in a pivoting position. The instructions recommend the fixed head position for your neck and cheeks. While the pivoting head works well under your nose and on your chin. The pop up sideburn trimmer has been relocated to the rear of the shaver which is a much better location than on the front of the shaver. The new charging case is wonderful for traveling on extended trips. I am amazed at the dramatic improvement of the Braun Series 9 Pro over my previous Braun Series 7. The shaver is a beautiful example of high quality German Design, German Engineering, and German manufacturing. Yes it is made in Germany which I much prefer over Chinese mediocre manufacturing. I bought the Series 9 Pro 9465 though I was skeptical. I have always used a Phillips Norelco triple headed rotary shaver because I believed that it was the only thing short of a blade that could give me a clean shave with all the crazy directions my beard grows. The quality of the blades on my Norelco shavers have degraded badly over the years and I find myself grinding the razor against my face for 10 minutes trying to get a reasonable shave and having razor burn afterward. I also don't shave every day anymore and every day past day 1 I go, the worse the shaving experience got. This shaver is amazing! If I shave every day it takes me about 90 second to get a MUCH closer shave than my old shaver, and I even 3 days to test it out and after 3 days the save was just as close and only required a little more effort. I never believed a foil shave could work for me but I'm convinced now. The skin on my face is much happier, and I am too. Pros: Really close shave with minimal effort Very quick to get to that close shave Nice design and fits well in my hand Impressive cleaning/charging station (yet to really test it out) Cons: Its not loud but the sound is high pitched compared to my old shaver and a little uncomfortable VERY pricey, I hope its wicked durable like my Norelcos which each lasted over a decade with just blade replacements Not sure I would spend the extra $100 on the base station if I had the chance to buy it againScoR

Quick assessment: Hefty feel that provides a very close shave, but does take longer to cut every hair with more noise and vibration than other electric shavers. Pros: Extremely high quality and hefty feel. The razor feels “premium” and I doubt it will break or have any quality issues for a long time. I love the attention that was put into the quality. This razor also shaves closer than any other electric razor I’ve tried before. If you are focused on the end result of super smooth skin post shaving, this is a great razor. The shaving head pivots to meet the contour of your face, and glides easily. I did not experience any roughness, scratchiness or other concerns – the razor heads glide smooth without irritation. Cons: Noise and vibration. As this design is a “side-to-side” trimmer, there is a lot more noise and vibration in the trimmer action than I am used to. It is not a defect, just something to be aware. It wasn’t a problem for me most weekends, but during the weekdays it did wake up my wife as I was getting ready for work. Also, while the razor is Li-Ion and can be used cordlessly most of the time, I found it unfortunate that razor does not work WHILE PLUGGED IN as well. I would be worried about forgetting to charge it and then being stuck unable to shave in the morning while waiting for enough charge to get going. Not a huge issue either, but also something to be aware of. Final con I noticed was just the time it takes to properly shave. While the shave is super close, it isn’t super quick and does require a few passes to get everything just right.we98

Exceeded Expectations! Been Bald shaving for close to 25 years. I've used several different methods from the head blade to regular blades to conventional electric rotary shavers. The Balder Pro changed everything. It worked so well on my head that I tried it on my face. Wow, did it worked! I've found that I can shave my head and face using a "slick" type shaving cream in the shower in less than 3-5 minutes, saving so much time than leaning over the sink and making a mess. The Balder Pro does such a great job under my chin and neck area with absolutely no pulling or nicks. Another impressive feature is cleaning is so easy, since I rinse it under the shower while shaving, that when I removed the head to deep clean it, there was hardly any residue, shaving cream or hair. Although my scalp hair has receded over the years, my beard is still quite thick and this thing cuts right through it quickly leaving my face smooth and unirritated. Cannot recommend highly enough! This shaver does everything it claims to do! I was hesitant to spend the money because every electric shaver I’ve tried has irritated my skin, and/or left some of the finer hairs behind. I recently purchased the Braun MGK3220 6-in-1 Mens Beard Trimmer and Hair Clipper Kit and used it for the first time. The clipper kit comes complete with an electric clipper/trimmer, which has many different attachments for your beard as well as the hair on your head. It also includes an attachment to trim your nose and ear hair as well. The trimmer felt light in my hand and was easy to use. The clipper guard is adjustable with different length settings which makes it convenient to trim it up to the length that is good for you. The trimmer did a nice job cutting and did not pull on my whiskers at all. It does not contain the cut whiskers, so they basically flew all over the sink and counter as they were cut. Next, I tried the nose and ear attachment. I always wanted to have something to cut my nose and ear hairs, other then a pair of scissors, so Im glad this included in the kit. I wondered if it would pull on my nose and ear hairs, but it didnt pull at all. As a matter of fact, it almost tickles my nose, but would rather have that feeling than any pain. I was happy with the results and will be using this feature quite often. Over all, this is a decent trimmer for the price range. This Braun grooming kit works great and is very high quality, especially for all you get for the price. I exchanged a different Braun grooming kit that I had gotten my husband as a gift, that was horrible quality, for this one. I’m so happy I did. This has everything you need for a comfortable, smooth shave from head to toe. No matter what body part you shave, whether you want completely silky smooth or a certain length this quickly and comfortably does the job. This is the worst trimmer/shaver I have ever had, including $12 generic ones. I have been using these things for about 15 years, do most of my own haircuts over that time, needed a new one and tried this out. Trimmed my beard with a negligible difference between a 2 and a 0. It was weak enough that I needed to make several passes even through already short hair trying to cut to a 3 length. The poor power then led to an error by me trying to make up for poor performance, so then I had to shave my head instead of looking like a whack-job, but the weak battery then died, so I plugged it in to use with electricity. No such luck – it works on battery use only and turns off when plugged in. I tried again after 5 minutes of charging to get about 5 seconds of power. Now I am sitting here writing this, waiting for both the battery to charge and for the soonest moment that I can return this mistake to Target. Even if they do not agree to refund me if they claim they can’t take it back used, I would rather leave it there for them to throw away then ever bring it back home.x

This is my second one blade so the fact that I ordered another one says it all! As someone with very sensitive, acne and in grown hair prone skin I was never able to shave using the traditional razor and shaving cream method. I have tried out many hand held razors from cheap to very expensive but none of them lasted more than a few months never mind an entire year. I saw the one blade at my local pharmacy and decided to try it as I’ve had decent success with norelco in the past. This was the shaver I’ve needed and wanted all my life! The flat head design ensures stability while shaving and also makes it incredibly easy to shape my beard, side burns etc. What I love the most about the one blade is that it shaves the skin pretty much as close as a regular razor without the “side effects” of a traditional razor. No longer do I suffer with acne, razor bumps or irritation after shaving. This new one blade greatly improves upon the first iteration in the design of the guides and charging stand. The first one had individual length guides that didn’t really stay on that well and no charging base. I love the design of this new model because the guide stays on even while trimming the jawline and the lcd screen shows how much charge is left. For how small this thing is it has always held a charge very well. I shave about every week-ish and a full charge lasts about a month depending on how much I shave. The disposable heads last a long time as well given I tidy-up the thicker hair of the torso and below the belt, using a separate blade of course. My first one blade has lasted me over 3 years and it would probably still work if I didn’t drop it so much. To sum up my review, if anyone has had the same issues as I have using a traditional razor than I implore you to give this a try! Your skin will thank you!JNYC

I have always struggled with shavers, I am fair haired and my beard grows slowly so I usually go clean shaven but recently I have tried some different lengths of beard. With this Oneblade Pro I can manage the length easily, the guard comes with an adjustable comb so you can set it between 0.5 and 10mm, the best bit about that is it adjusts so simply with a turn of the wheel, the numbers are nice and clear so it's easy to set where you want it and it also doesn't move while shaving so you get a good even shave. I have attached a couple of photos, when I heard I was getting this I let my beard grow out so it was pretty long and untamed, for the first try I basically took it all off with a combination of using the guard and then removing it for a smooth finish, you can see the difference and it was an effortless shave no fuss and a nice smooth face. Battery life wise it's great so far, charged up once, used every day for a week and it's still going strong, I am guessing it will need charging soon but I can't complain at all. It is comfortable in the hand and us really sinple to use, the rotating head makes shaving so easy and it follows the contours of your face very well. It.comes with an extra blade for body shaving which I haven't used yet but its good to have the option. It comes with a standard 2 pin shaving plug for the bathroom socket and the lead is long enough to not cause any issues. It's much better for me than having to use a beard trimmer if I want to have some decent stubble and have a separate razor for when I want to be clean shaved, this does both really well and I would recommend it to anyone.Mooseman34

I will start this review by saying that I've exclusively used electric razors basically since I discovered what they were after I started shaving. I've used many different types and qualities over the years to varying levels of success. Unfortunately, the Philips Norelco Oneblade Pro fails to live up to the hype. In concept, the idea is interesting and unique, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. To start, the blade touts itself as being able to handle all lengths of hair, and I had gone almost 2 weeks without a shave (which is uncommon for me) so I figured what better way to test it. I tend to shave my neck clean and leave a bit of a 2-3 day shadow on my face so that's what I aimed for. While it accomplished this task, it was much more difficult and took much longer than my traditional method. I started with clean saving using the Oneblade without the guard on it, and it does well enough, although since it only cuts along the top and bottom edges, I found covering large flat areas to be a bit of an interesting experience. Since it doesn't cut directly under the flat middle part of the blade, you have to be sure there is room to move the blade up and down around it without cutting hair you don't want cut. The angle of the blade on the base does not lend itself to this experience. Trying to angle it without flipping it over is nearly impossible, and flipping it over means the teeth of the blade are directly against your skin. Fortunately the rounded edges do save you from any terrible mishaps, but it still does not lend itself to a very easy shaving experience. Once I finished the clean shaven portion of my neck, I attached the comb and set it to '3' (which I imagine is something akin to 3mm of my old Philips Norelco comb. It does manage to keep a consistent 3mm cut throughout, but it's like taking a weed-eater to a full yard of 5ft weeds. Yes, it CAN do it, but it does not do it well. As the blades cut the hair, it would just pile up and jam into the top of the comb until the comb and blades so full of hair they could no longer reach my face, and instead required me to remove the comb, tap out the hair and brush off the blades. The other strange thing about this design is that with the comb installed, only one of the two cutting edges is in use, which means if you only ever use it with the comb installed, or mostly use it with the comb installed, you will dull one side of the blade much sooner than the other. The blade cannot be flipped over to allow you a fresh cutting edge on the side that you use less. One thing I will mentioned about this, is that it is more comfortable than any travel razor I've ever used. So for travel, I would choose it over most other options if you're not willing to pack a bigger or bulkier razor. Bottom line, It will accomplish what it set out to do, but unfortunately it does not do any of those things well. It's comfortable, if a little strange to use and does not nick or cut the skin even if you have to use it at strange angles. But for the same tasks there are better options.Beradon

I purchased this during a short price deal offer. The delivery and unboxing went fine, no quibble. I own a Wahl Balding clipper which I use primarily as a a bald shaver with limited haircutting duties so the Senior has effectively had to deliver the same service cordless. First task was to reset the blades to zero overlap. The result for the close cutting is only just acceptable compared to what the Balding does but the obvious advantage of the Senior is portability and convenience of mobility which almost makes up. Maybe Wahl should consider zero-overlap blades for the Senior or even a cordless Balding clipper for the future.Edwin E.

Been shaving my head for over 25 years now with a electric clippers with no attachment. This worked well, but did leave about 2-3mm. Finally decided to try a head shaver and settled on the Groomie. Man, I will never go back, this shaver is fantastic! I've had this over a week now and used about 6 times, still on the first full charge. It works best as a head shaver – super easy to use, takes about 2 to 3 minutes to shave my head (compared to 5+ with clippers) and feels almost baby smooth afterwards. The first time I used it, my head felt stubbly, but later shaves I guess my skin adjusted somewhat and it feels much smoother. So much better than using electric clippers. I've used the Groomie clipper attachments to trip my beard – they work surprisingly well and have used nose hair trimmer which also works fine. I have also used the shaver on other body parts (back of neck and unmentionables) without any issues. I can't comment on the other attachments as I haven't used them. Also super easy to clean.My one negative is I don't get as close to the skin on the face shave. I remember having this issue with other electric shavers in the past though. I do have to go slow with very light pressure on my face as the shaver will pull my skin if I'm not careful – doesn't hurt, but something to be aware of. I've only done dry shaving so can't comment if it would work even better with shaving cream or in the shower. Product was packaged really nicely and charged at about 84%. As I said, been using for over a week now and it has only dropped to 55% or so. There are many options for head shavers on the market and at so many different price points. I ended up going with Groomie as it sounds like it is at least assembled in the US and company also has their own website independent of Amazon so it feels like they fully back their product. I am super happy with this shaver and look for excuses to use it almost everyday now. Hope this review helps!Dave

Love it! I purchased this last year after doing extensive research and reading thousands of in-depth reviews. This electric head shaver does not disappoint, especially for the competitive price. I shave my head using the pre shave oil with the BaladiePro which takes about 4 minutes to complete a full head shave. It gets 99% as close as a Gillette Fusion 5 blade razor, but I no longer have to deal with the mess of clean up resulting from hairs all over the place. This unit catches all the hair without the blade for a mess-free shave. It's also extremely easy to clean the unit by running it under hot water with some soap. I'd like to mention that you must clean it after every shave to keep it functioning properly. If you're in the market for a good electric head shaver that will make shaving easier & quicker, then definitely give this one a go! You won't be disappointed I promise.Elias

I bought the BaldiePro as I had heard many great things from family and friends but I was still a little skeptical. As someone who regulary grooms – I have a lot of experience so here's my review that I hope helps you make an easier buying decision. First, I was pretty much blown away after my first shave and pretty blown away with how close of a shave it provided. I've had it now for about 6 months and it's still performing as it did the first day. It's very easy to hold in your hand, has a high speed motor (10,000 RPM) and a great battery life. One BIG tip is to make sure you give it a good clean after each shave. Just like anything the more you care for it the better it will continue perform. If you don't clean the hair out after each shave it will run at a slower pace. Overall this thing is a beast and will make grooming your bald head SO much EASIER!Carson C.

My prior electric razor (Braun 3010s) was made of mostly plastic and the quick-change attachments were prone to breaking. By the time I admitted to myself that I needed a new razor I was limping along at about 50% capacity. The beard trimmer was also so loud (either by design or due to some other breakage) that it would wake my wife out of a dead sleep while I shaved in the morning. I told myself I needed a durable razor, and this delivers. The clippers and body are of solid construction and are so quiet I'm sure I could shave right next to her and she'd never wake up. The attachments are versatile, numerous, and made of a better and stronger plastic blend than my prior razor's. My only downsides so far are twofold. 1) all the accessories are cumbersome – I recommend purchasing a case (there's a nice one on Amazon) for storage. It would be better if Philips had a package deal with an in-house case so I didn't have to shop thru Amazon. 2). The blades are SHARP. More…sensitive areas of your body need either a different razor or a large guard; else it'll look like a wolverine mauled it. I speak from experience.Thomas01

This trimming kit is the bomb!!! I have gone through many different trimming kids in the past and they never last very long but this one seems to be standing the test of time as I have had it so far for twice the time I’ve had others. It’s a very solid and well made trimmer. It has all the attachments you would ever need to get any type of trimming job done. Whether it be your mustache or beard or your nose and ear hair it has you covered. The battery lasts a very long time and the recharge time is quick as well. You should always keep your blades oiled up so that you get an optimal cut every single time. The power is great and provides an even in solid trim each and every time. The flat head design ensures stability while shaving and also makes it incredibly easy to shape my beard, side burns etc. What I love the most about the one blade is that it shaves the skin pretty much as close as a regular razor without the “side effects” of a traditional razor. No longer do I suffer with acne, razor bumps or irritation after shaving. This new one blade greatly improves upon the first iteration in the design of the guides and charging stand. The first one had individual length guides that didn’t really stay on that well and no charging base. I love the design of this new model because the guide stays on even while trimming the jawline and the lcd screen shows how much charge is left. For how small this thing is it has always held a charge very well. I shave about every week-ish and a full charge lasts about a month depending on how much I shave. The disposable heads last a long time as well given I tidy-up the thicker hair of the torso and below the belt, using a separate blade of course. My first one blade has lasted me over 3 years and it would probably still work if I didn’t drop it so much. I have always struggled with shavers, I am fair haired and my beard grows slowly so I usually go clean shaven but recently I have tried some different lengths of beard. With this Oneblade Pro I can manage the length easily, the guard comes with an adjustable comb so you can set it between 0.5 and 10mm, the best bit about that is it adjusts so simply with a turn of the wheel, the numbers are nice and clear so it's easy to set where you want it and it also doesn't move while shaving so you get a good even shave. I have attached a couple of photos, when I heard I was getting this I let my beard grow out so it was pretty long and untamed, for the first try I basically took it all off with a combination of using the guard and then removing it for a smooth finish, you can see the difference and it was an effortless shave no fuss and a nice smooth face. Battery life wise it's great so far, charged up once, used every day for a week and it's still going strong, I am guessing it will need charging soon but I can't complain at all. It is comfortable in the hand and us really sinple to use, the rotating head makes shaving so easy and it follows the contours of your face very well. It.comes with an extra blade for body shaving which I haven't used yet but its good to have the option. It comes with a standard 2 pin shaving plug for the bathroom socket and the lead is long enough to not cause any issues. It's much better for me than having to use a beard trimmer if I want to have some decent stubble and have a separate razor for when I want to be clean shaved, this does both really well and I would recommend it to anyone.Mooseman34

I will start this review by saying that I've exclusively used electric razors basically since I discovered what they were after I started shaving. I've used many different types and qualities over the years to varying levels of success. Unfortunately, the Philips Norelco Oneblade Pro fails to live up to the hype. In concept, the idea is interesting and unique, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. To start, the blade touts itself as being able to handle all lengths of hair, and I had gone almost 2 weeks without a shave (which is uncommon for me) so I figured what better way to test it. I tend to shave my neck clean and leave a bit of a 2-3 day shadow on my face so that's what I aimed for. While it accomplished this task, it was much more difficult and took much longer than my traditional method. I started with clean saving using the Oneblade without the guard on it, and it does well enough, although since it only cuts along the top and bottom edges, I found covering large flat areas to be a bit of an interesting experience. Since it doesn't cut directly under the flat middle part of the blade, you have to be sure there is room to move the blade up and down around it without cutting hair you don't want cut. The angle of the blade on the base does not lend itself to this experience. Trying to angle it without flipping it over is nearly impossible, and flipping it over means the teeth of the blade are directly against your skin. Fortunately the rounded edges do save you from any terrible mishaps, but it still does not lend itself to a very easy shaving experience. Once I finished the clean shaven portion of my neck, I attached the comb and set it to '3' (which I imagine is something akin to 3mm of my old Philips Norelco comb. It does manage to keep a consistent 3mm cut throughout, but it's like taking a weed-eater to a full yard of 5ft weeds. Yes, it CAN do it, but it does not do it well. As the blades cut the hair, it would just pile up and jam into the top of the comb until the comb and blades so full of hair they could no longer reach my face, and instead required me to remove the comb, tap out the hair and brush off the blades. The other strange thing about this design is that with the comb installed, only one of the two cutting edges is in use, which means if you only ever use it with the comb installed, or mostly use it with the comb installed, you will dull one side of the blade much sooner than the other. The blade cannot be flipped over to allow you a fresh cutting edge on the side that you use less. One thing I will mentioned about this, is that it is more comfortable than any travel razor I've ever used. So for travel, I would choose it over most other options if you're not willing to pack a bigger or bulkier razor. Bottom line, It will accomplish what it set out to do, but unfortunately it does not do any of those things well. It's comfortable, if a little strange to use and does not nick or cut the skin even if you have to use it at strange angles. But for the same tasks there are better options.Beradon

My husband feels the blades aren’t sharp enough for thicker hair even with the two different blades they offer. It does maintain your beard in between barber visits but overall he feels that he would switch brands after a little more research into these types of shavers. One big plus he says is the battery. He’s only had to charge it once since opening it and it’s been well over a month. Overall it gets the job done but if you are very meticulous about your beard you may want to invest in a higher end shaver.vanessa .r

This is the all-in-one grooming kit I never knew I needed. It's lightweight and easy to hold. It's rechargeable so I don't need to worry about being close to an outlet or getting tangled up in a wire when using. Any type of trim or cut I need this bad boy got me covered! It's got a variety of 6 different attachments. The blade is nice and sharp and gives a nice clean cut. The blade cleans easily too, no left being trimmings of hair. I received this about a week ago and just had an opportunity to use it. I used the clipper to groom my mustache and beard using the 10 length adjustable comb and found the adjustment glide to be smooth and easy to set at the precise length needed to trim all areas of my beard. For my mustache, I found it much easier to use the detail trimmer as I needed to get closer to trimming under my nose though. The included attachments such as the nose, ear and eyebrow trimmer, adjustable comb, beard and stubble combs (3mm, 6mm and 9mm), did a fantastic job through some very coarse growth. I thoroughly enjoyed the ear trimmer to remove those pesky hairs that seemingly popup overnight. The charge right out of the box was at full capacity and lasted throughout this use, and I had a full beard and trimmed it down significantly. The groomer did not bind up or cause any discomfort to me during use which is a major plus from other brands I have used in the past. This electric razor comes with multiple attachments and a carrying bag. It is a good razor for those looking to shave body hair, buzz their head, or shear off beard hair. It will even painlessly clip any unsightly dangling nose hairs. It will NOT, however, give you a clean shave. Trying to use multiple attachments had no effect on stubble, leaving a five-o'clock shadow across my chin and neck. I don't wear a full beard, so a clean, smooth shave is what I am looking for in a trimmer. For only $20, I'll keep it for other shaving purposes, but I will need a buy a separate trimmer for daily use to get a smooth, clean shave. Cost was just great on this purchase and the reason for purchasing two, one for myself and one for my son! I have experienced the single head of the Bliss for a while and when I saw the cost of the double head, thought I couldn't miss, plus I needed a birthday gift for him! I purchased this shaver 07/09/2022. i took it home and started charging it, I couldn't wait to try it out so I used it in cord mode. I have tried the Mach 5 and a Braun version. While the Mach 5 produces a good close shave, it takes me 20 to 30 minutes of shaving to achieve that. Plus I have to use a lubricant while shaving to achieve the best shave. I used this new Babyliss shaver with no lubricant on my head and it literally took less than 3 minutes and it's the best shave I've had. it's nice and rugged metal, all others I have used have been plastic. It has definitely been the cheapest shaver I have tried. I was skeptical from reading some of the reviews, I do have more of a coarse hair which one of the reviews mentions getting results from. If you have coarse hair and want a great shave, I totally recommend this shaver! I'm not saying it won't do fine hair, I am just not a good test for that.Chris M.

I took my dad to a really nice upscale barber, and everyone one of them had this kind of razor. They used it on my dad and he did not get bumps or ingrowns like he normally does when he shaves. This is a great, Great Razor!!! It must be charged for the night or a few hours when you first get it though. You don't need to leave it plugged in though. Once it has been charged fully, you will have several days worth of power. It is very quiet, it gives a really close shave and it is really smooth on the face. In addition, it is very simple to clean. You can removed the guard and it reveals the blades of the razor. You just run some water over the blades and it removes the hair clippings.bj987keller

The Good: Great feel, grip, shave, ease of cleaning, quick charge time, trimmer is handy for sideburns to shape them up between haircuts. The Bad: I have now gone through two of these in about 2 years….the first lasted about 18 mos, the second, about 5. Problem? For whatever reason, after awhile, it will not charge. I also use shaving cream when I get out of the shower and use the razor, rinse it before, during and after use….and always and I mean always, after the period of time, you get up, plug it in, go in the shower, come out, dead. It won't charge. My guess? The Lithium Ion Batts. While ALL batteries have a lifespan, they should be much longer thant this. I rinse the head during shaving (shaving cream buildup and hair) 2-3 times while shaving paying attention to let the water drain down 90-95%….I don't think it's water intrusion….as deep as this thing goes is running it under the faucet head down? I used both the old and new charger….the new one shows all power lights on for about 2-3 seconds, goes dim, dead……there is something about these batteries that are not right….I am off to Walmart this mornign to get a 3rd in less than 3 years THIS time WITH the cheap warranty…..I have used Brauns for over 30 years and the batteries always seem to be the issue…do NOT pack them in luggage that will go in the cargo hold or you will find them dead, not chargeable when you get to your destination…this one is ONLY used at home. I take a cheap corded Braun on the road and it's about 20 years old now, still works but it's a dry shave…irritating…….I like the ability to use shaving cream for a much more comfortable shave but, this battery thing is aggravating…..over the 30 years I have gone through multiple 3, 5, 7 and 9 series razors…they ALL have battery failures eventually…so you end up buying a new one…..why? Because the other brands suck MORE. I have had Remington, Norelco (couldn't shave close with a gun to it's head), Chinese knockoffs even a small cordless from Harbor Freight that despite is size and slow speed delivered a great shave until it quit working…..it seems that if a rechargeable battery is run for 20 mins a day max, 6-7 days a week, it SHOULD last more than 6 months….never dropped, never abused, always left open on the counter after rinsing to let the head and razor dry after separated….still died….ridiculous…..I only hope the warranty is worth something when the next one croaks….no warning either….just dies…..still the best brand overall….Terry

I've never really liked wet dry shavers but this one changed my mind. it shaves flawless and leaves you face as smooth as using a traditional razor. i love that it's wireless and it charges very quickly and stays charged for a great amount of time. and cleaning is a breeze with the included brush and removable heads. you can also remove the head and run it under water for a deep clean. all around this is and excellent shaver.James

I've tried many of these head shavers over the last few years with various results. The Pitbull has been the best of them by far and for a few reasons. First, the overall performance. I shave my head every fourth day and have always had issues with these electric razors not being able to pick up the hair on the very back of my head, where it still grows in relatively thick. The Pitbull doesn't seem to struggle nearly as much to actually pick up and cut the hair there. Second – Ease of cleaning. Because the whole blade assembly pops off, it makes it very easy to rinse out the heads. Others i've tried that only flip open and don't easily detach are much more difficult to clean. The worst offender of this was the Freedom grooming razor. That one had 4 separate heads to open and then a center head that is supposed to unlock and open but the whole cleaning process took almost as long as the shave. Third: Hair storage. There is plenty of space under the blades to shave your entire head, even with four days of growth, without needing to stop and empty it. Others i've tried didn't seem to take this into account… again with Freedom Grooming being the worst offender with only a tiny ring of space for hair under each head. I don't want to stop halfway through to clean out the hair. Finally, overall build quality and ergonomics seem spot on. I also like that you can see what percentage of battery you have left instead of just an led light. Overall, this was more than I wanted to spend on a head shaver, but at the end of the day, when it's a product you're going to use hundreds if not thousands of times, it's worth the cost to get something that performs well.Kyle B.

Honest and truly I've been shaving my head with a razor like a knub for the past 2 years dealing with razor burn every two days having my whole head look like I just got attacked by a swarm of angry Hornets. I brush my teeth and shave my head every morning. It takes me less time to shave my head than it does to brush my teeth. Extremely easy to maintain. Multiple shaving heads available unlike other brands. Super super easy to clean. And the best part you don't have to worry about some flesh eating bacteria that's living on your razor blade entering your body from a tiniest Little knick that will eat half of the skin off your head. And along those lines you don't have to worry about slipping wrong position of the blade. Just rub this skull conforming device around your head for just a few seconds and you're good to go. And the cool thing is at the end of the day when you got a little 5:00 shadow on your head going on and makes you look a little bit more rugged and that much more dashing and handsome. That and if you have one of those type of girlfriend or boyfriend you can let them have fun shaving your head too without fear that they're going to mess you up something fierce. It’s awesome. I accepted my inevitable baldness two years ago but never out thought into how to truly shave my head—-like many, I just used my cheap electric razor…which I thought worked fine, until I discovered this amazing tool! I shave my head in like three minutes instead of fifteen, and there’s zero hair on the floor/bathtub after because this thing catches all the hair. Best of all, my head is incredibly smooth—like honestly, I had no idea my head could feel so smooth. I used to have little cuts and flakes on my head but this thing smoothed them all out. There’s no flakes, no hair, just smooth bald skin. It doesn’t hurt my head at all. However, I’ve been disappointed by how it irritates my neck. I have very sensitive skin below my chin and each time I’ve used this shaver there, it results in red scarred skin and razor burn/bumps that hurt. Never on my head, just the neck. I may later buy the blade they sell for sensitive skin to try that (I really wish that could have just come standard with the shaver, like I wish I could choose blades instead of only having one option). But until then, I can’t use this below my chin since it breaks out in red bumps and pain—even when I use shaving cream. But that’s only 5% of my shaving need. The other 95%, my head, is shaved masterfully and quickly and painlessly by this shaver. It’s so quick! Loving it. I bought this model online during the Black Friday sales in November 2021. It was to replace my older model Series 7 which has been a fantastic shaver. Please be aware that the newer generation Series 7 like this one uses a separate precision trimmer head that is not built into the shaver. The precision trimmer is not included in this particular retail kit. And you cannot buy it separately in Australia unless you opt to purchase an entire beard trimming and manscaping kit. I don't have a beard. And I'm not into manscaping. So this shaver is incredibly useless in its current state. Normally I would not have made this error of judgement because I would have purchased in-store after inspecting it. But in-store purchase wasn't possible during COVID-19 lockdown. Shaver Shop referred me to Braun, who referred me to their spare parts distributor who was actually very helpful, but it seems I've bought a dud. I'll start by saying a lot of the reviews I've seen here have been discussing the fact that instructions aren't included and comments about the fact there is no heater/dryer in the base. First off there is literally only 1 button on the shaver and 1 button on the base (outside of the base ejection button for swapping the cleaning juice). If you struggle with this shaver then there are likely bigger problems in your life. This is very simple shaver that seriously needs no instructions. As for the base always launching the cleaning cycle when you only want to charge the shaver… the shaver battery lasts over an hour. My shaves take approximately 5 minutes. That means I could shave, without the need for charging, or cleaning the shaver 12 times. If after 12 shaves you still don't want to clean the shaver then I don't know what to tell you other than you might want to consider evaluating your hygiene habits. Also, the cleaning solution/juice if not used will evaporate, so you might as well use it. I run the cycle after about 3-4 shaves and the next day it's dry and ready to go. Now for the real review… I previously owned a 5 series Braun many years back and more recently owned a 9 series Braun about 3 years ago. I also have owned/tried Remington, Philips, Manscape, and Wahl shavers in the last 3 years so I have a lot of experience and by far this is better than every shaver I have tried, including the 9 series and I'll explain why. First off, my 9 series broke about 3 years ago only 4 months after purchasing it. The trimmer failed to run; the rest of the shaver still functioned. Anyway, I dealt with the customer service and found it lacking. I mailed the shaver off and after calls asking the status, they told me to be patient. 2 months later I moved, lost my USPS tracking receipt, and finally the Braun customer service acknowledged they didn't have the shaver and asking for shipping confirmation. I no longer had the receipt so I couldn't prove I mailed it. $300 down the drain. So, for the next few years I avoided Braun products. I tried many others and finally gave up and settled with disposable shavers. I seen this sale after all this time and decided to try this shaver/Braun again. The motor on this shaver is louder and more powerful than the 9 series I remember. The attachments are easy to swap and use. I found the lack of an in-built trimmer a little frustrating as it takes a bit of time to swap heads. A small sacrifice as the trimmer itself is leaps and bounds stronger than the 9 series in-built shaver and far easier and more precise to use. Now onto a more sensitive topic, trimming of more delicate parts of the body. My god, this shaver has blown me away and establishes its true value here. The included beard/stubble trimmer attachment, normally meant for beards, has been a godsend for that area and blows Manscape products out the water. Honestly Manscape products are far overrated, and I found before this shaver, a Wahl cordless shaver with the correct guide to be much better. The Stubble and Beard trimmer was better than every product I've ever tried, and I can easily say with confidence that there is absolutely nothing better. This was the first shave I ever had that didn't tear me to shreds and cause excessive bleeding there. The shave is also faster as the newfound confidence allows me to shave without worry of nicks. While I will say it did nick once, the nick was barely noticeable or felt and didn't bleed. A serious gamechanger. The included guides that were notches of 1, 2, or 3 were additions nice but a close trim is possible without worry with guide 1. Seriously, this attachment should be marketed completely differently as it's outstanding. I'm speaking again of the Beard and Stubble Trimmer with 2 notch 1 guides, not the Precision Trimmer attachment as I would be far too scared to use that attachment down there. Also, while the Beard and Stubble trimmer is attached you can still run the cleaning cycle when the shaver is inserted into the base! Honestly that was an amazing discovery as the ability of having that attachment cleaned by the base, especially after shaving in that area, was a huge win for hygiene. On to the real purpose of this shaver, your face… It does a great and thorough job but requires many passes. This shaver shines in giving this quality shave without pulling or nicks. It rivals disposable shaver shaves without the irritation. The requirement of some extra passes is worth it. The 9 series did provide a faster shave as it required fewer passes of the same area, but it did not provide a better shave. The difference being the 9 series is almost 2 – 2.5x as expensive and has a far worse trimmer, no beard and stubble trimmer which again shines where you would least expect it to and had suspect reliability. I have given this product 4 stars as the customer service, if you ever need it, is lacking and I’ll likely always have a chip on my shoulder towards Braun for simply makingAlan

I recently bought this machine and this is the first machine I've had with an associated charging/cleaning station. I have previously used Braun shavers for years, but these were not cleaned in this way. Then I wonder about this: The machine was delivered with 1 pc. Braun Clean & Renew, and according to the manual, the machine must be cleaned after each use. Then the contents of the cleaning station will last for approx. 30 days. If I don't clean every day the contents will evaporate within 8 weeks. This kind of fabric is very expensive to buy new, and I wonder if this type of cleaning is necessary. Online, it is also possible to buy a type of powder which, however, must be mixed with some type of ethanol. Then the price will be a fraction of the price for new containers. However, I have managed without such cleaning since I started with Braun shavers 50 years ago. However, according to the manual, I do not need to clean the machine in this way, but only rinse it clean under running water. What do I risk by maintaining the machine without using the cleaning station. Will it then have a limited lifespan? Will the machine have a longer life if I use a cleaning spray and shower my head after each cleaning under water?Ivar

This is my first clipper , it's really great . Comes off as a quality product , very sharp . My hair was starting to grow abit long , ( i usually cut it down to 1cm length at the hairdresser ) and i cut it from maybe 10cm down to half a centimeter with this when i got it . Like i said it s really sharp but the engine do stall when you go to fast and the hair "clogs up" , but at the right "medium" speed it cut my hair like butter , when it was starting to grow abit long , and thick . I was surprised at how heavy it was and that it vibrates quite abit . It also lacks a good case for storage , so far i'm just using the plastic package it came in and i also dont have a place for it in a cabinet , i just have it on a shelf and if it were to drop to the floor it would have no protection . But i've read that one of wahl's goals is to make affordable quality clippers and the clipper itself is affordable and its quality . So i guess they have cut cost from selling it without a quality case . It also lacks a quality storage system for the plastic things to set the cutting length but i guess thats also to cut cost . So all in all i give this 5stars because it truly is an affordable quality clipper and i m sure i will use this for many years to come without any problems ! 🙂 Theyprobably could've charged twice as much for it and it still would be an acceptable price for the product But i'm probably gonna get myself one of these tiny "aluminium suitcases" for storage . I WOULD be leaving 5 stars on this, because I absolutely loved my Manscaped trimmer. Until I bought TWO and both broke. Spent around $200 now. First time, bought and loved it. I used it till I died. Then I went to charge it and it lit up for a while, came back and whole thing was dead. I was like damn okay maybe I over charged it or got water in it on accident. Bought a new one. When it died this time I was EXTRA careful. I let it sit out for two days to dry before charging. I only let it charge for 20 minutes at a time. SAME THING HAPPENED. Have used this for almost a year now and really love it. The battery life is super long. The LED light is an essential, you know downstairs isn't always well lit. Waterproof is perfection, why get hair on your floor when you can let it go down the drain. The guards are essential, virtually impossible to cut yourself with one in place. It fits my hand perfectly and is surprisingly lightweight. The charger stand (wireless charging) uses a standard USB-C connector, so no worries if you lose the adapter included. Charging is fast and easy, The concept of a separate trimmer for upstairs beard and another for downstairs just makes too much sense. So if you are going for smooth look – the Manscaped razor is fantastic and works perfectly. However, unless the hair is about 1/4 inch or less, the razor plugs up really fast. The mower takes care of that. Pre-trim with the mower, then hit it with the razor. Overall, this thing is a great tool, designed for a very specific purpose.BinkyBarns

The lawn mower 4.0 touts ceramic skin safe blades that don’t cut or knick the skin. Completely false claim. Every single time I trim downstairs I get cut multiple times. The trimmer DOES NOT trim as close to the skin as they claim. A $20 Norelco trimmer actually trims closer to the skin. I can use the lawn mower & follow up with the Norelco & still trim shorter than the lawn mower by itself. Your trim area has to be silky smooth before u use this lawn mower or it will catch the skin every time without fail & cut you. Every time. Manscaped products are amazing for what they’re designed for. The lawn mower is a nice trimmer. It just doesn’t trim as close as they claim & it will cut your skin. Their claims on their website are just a sales pitch bullshit claim. They know it doesn’t trim to the skin. They know the damn thing will cut you. They know this & they care nothing about it. Just shut your mouth, spend $100 on the trimmer & you will believe what we tell you. I’d provide pics if they weren’t pics of downstairs. I have 3 cuts right now & still can’t get close to the skin.
