I have been using this product in conjunction with the rest of the curlific line and I am a customer for life. I use the texture treatment each wash day which is once a week and I follow the instructions on the container which says to only leave it on for a minute after working over entire head. I follow up with the leave in conditioner and the curl definer and a moisturizer from another brand and I have noticed the difference! My hair feels stronger and it doesn't look dull as with other pricier brands. I am starting to notice length retention and my ends couldn't be more healthier! I love aphogee in general, but this line is now my staple styling line! As far as hair typing goes.. I have a mix of 4a-4c. As with others, I have not seen the entire line at Sally's, so I have to order from pharmapacks. I have fine, thin 3A curls, about 50% grey. I liked Pura D'or's Curl Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner so much, I decided to give the curl cream a try. The consistency is very thick, almost a paste. The smell is herbal, not the coconut or flowery smell curl creams tend to have. (Probably because it's marketed as a unisex product.) The smell doesn't linger once it dries. I was a little hesitant to use such a thick product on fine, thin hair, but it works. I used a pea-sized amount on wet shoulder length hair and my hair isn't weighed down at all. In fact, I have more volume than normal. My curls are bouncy, shiny and soft. I used gel over the cream because my hair frizzes up if you look at it too hard, so I can't speak to the curl cream's ability to prevent frizz. It definitely moisturizes.F. Bav

I've been using this product for about 2 weeks now, and have seen a noticeable improvement. I apply the product at night before I go to bed, usually on nights when I plan to shampoo my hair in the morning. However, I have found that, even though it feels wet and greasy for quite awhile after I apply it, by morning, it's fully absorbed and I often don't feel like I actually need to shampoo it. I have straight, somewhat fine hair that does tend to get greasy and stringy looking with many products. For me, applying at night is key. I am not using it as often as directed – I only use it ~3 nights a week. However, after the first week, I've had significantly fewer flakes and am not nearly as itchy as I was previously. If Noodle-head weighs your curls down too much, try this!! I have long, fine, curly-wavy hair that tends to be dry and fly-away. This does not weigh down curls or get greasy (noodlehead did both). It defines my curl pattern, eliminates frizz, adds shine, but does not get crunchy like a sprunch spray or gel. I finger comb sopping wet hair, *do not towel dry*, spray ends with generic leave-in conditioner, and scrunch in about a half-dollar sized puddle of this stuff from roots to ends. Gently squeeze with cotton tshirt and pile on top of my head in same shirt to air dry. I’m good for about three days with just water spritzing touchups and a little dry shampoo on day 4. Wish it csme in big pump bottle!
I use this on my curly hair— a little goes a long way— to hold my curls but to keep them soft and not crunchy. The start to healthy hair is a healthy scalp. During winter months I battle mild scalp psoriasis and eczema. My hair is shoulder length, fine, highlighted and prone to frizz and flyaways. This is great at detangling, adding shine and reducing frizz. My hair looks much healthier when I use it. I generally apply after shampooing and conditioning, and I only have to apply the tiniest amount (about half a small pea’s worth) to get good results, which means that a tube lasts a long, long time, and makes it easier to justify the cost. It does weigh hair down a bit, but I’m very happy with the effect it gives. It’s lightly scented, but the fragrance isn’t overly strong and doesn’t interfere with perfumes or other fragrance. Also, I often find I get breakouts when I use other hair serums where my hair touches my face, but I’ve had no problems at all with this one. I wish this wasn’t so good! Lol. It’s an expensive product but it is incredible. I struggle finding a product like this that doesn’t make my hair look super greasy and gross or weigh it down. This gives me the shine I want (I don’t have to use a lot) without the gross issues my hair looks so healthy even though I just used a blow dryer and straightened it . My hair looks great for DAYS. I have bleached thin hair, pretty damaged, so I was looking for something to use after washing my hair to make it easier to detangle and make it smoother and softer overall. Also I was intrigued by claims of super shine. I can not say that it didn't deliver, but I wasn't super in love, I wasn't gravitating towards it. I didn't notice intense shine or gloss, after it dries on your hand, for example, I can see tiniest shimmer parts (they are barely visible, but they are present), which I am also not a big fan of. I've been using this for about a year now, and so far it's done well in every season. I have long fine hair, and it doesn't weigh it down or dry it out. I do use Jack Blacks hair and scalp conditioner (the green bottle) with it, after reading reviews of other people with fine hair using it, so that could also be why it doesn't dry out my hair. I find I can go one extra day without the need to wash my hair due to dandruff with this. Before I tried most brands and none worked, or would only temporarily keep dandruff away for 2 days max, or weigh down my hair. So relieved to find this. I do keep it on for the full few minutes as recommended, and do a thorough lather in sections so every bit of my scalp gets this shampoo. When I have to rush I find it doesn't work as well, so be sure to keep it on for 2+ minutes!Jess
Since I don't have dandruff (and have never indicated that I do) I was a little surprised to get this shampoo to review. I've used Biolage products before, though, so I figured it would probably be decent. The shampoo is VERY foamy. Usually, I stick to sulfate-free shampoo to preserve my brightly colored hair, so I am NOT used to that much lather! And of course, the introduction of sulfates means it did help to fade my hair quite a bit. (I chose to use this as an opportunity to do a shade change.) My dry scalp is happy and doesn't feel "tight" after washing. The fragrance is powerful but pleasant; I enjoy a scented shower. I have been using Zincplex for a couple of years and find it works very well for itchy scalp and clears any sores that may result from scratching. It may cost more than a lot of other products, but one bottle last for ages, 6 months or even more, depending on hair length. I use about what would cover a 5 cent and that amount lathers up all my hair. I leave it on for around 20 minutes, then rinse and apply the conditioner, which also only needs about the same amount as the shampoo. The conditioner is really cooling, like a minty smell and is lovely. This product leaves my hair feeling lovely and soft and a natural shine. I highly recommend this product, after trying many others that never helped my itchy scalp. After doing some research, I found this Zincplex and unfortunately I can't find anywhere in Australia that sells it,so I have to get it sent from USA, but the postage is free and the product is worth waiting for. I have been using this shampoo for several years now! It is usually a thick white like cream shampoo with a mint like fresh smell. Unfortunately last time I ordered 7 bottles in total, I was shocked that it is so different. It is light pinkish in colour with a totally different smell and it dried my hair so badly just after 1 use. I am so disappointed and unhappy and I do not know what to do with these 7 bottles. During winter my scalp gets super dry but I don't have bad dandruff at all, just small flakes. It's not noticeable to others but I always tend to see them. I've tried the living proof dry scalp relief and I saw no difference in my hair after following the steps. Once I came across this Derma E scalp relief conditioner which is way more affordable, I saw a huge difference. After 2 washes I could tell my scalp felt more hydrated and the flakes of dry skin have slowly disappeared after a continuous use. The scent isn't terrible but once you're done washing your hair it fades away. If you struggle with a dry scalp I would recommend trying this product out especially if you want something affordable. I haven't experienced loss of hair or anything. If you are worried that it will smell too strong, it's faint after using it.Rana
Well somehow I forgot to remove this product from my basket and I just got too lazy to return. I suffer from an itchy scalp here and there, so I actually waited to use this product to give it a fair shot. I have tried it out maybe 2-3 times in the past week and I like it for the most part. It does soothe your scalp but it leaves an herbal scent that isn't bad…. just not for me. I have thick hair and my hair will hold on to scents of my hair products. I find myself adding other " hair oils" or "hair mists" to then mask the conditioner. Does it work? Yes. I think it's reasonably priced and if you're interested in getting it, use it on a day you won't mind "testing out" the scent to see how you feel about it.Nadine
I love the product inside, but the packaging is a nightmare. Unfortunately, I think anyone who has limited dexterity or strength in their hands might really struggle with any shampoo or conditioner by Derma E because the bottles are made of very hard plastic that is difficult to squeeze. It's especially difficult to get out the conditioner because the consistency of the product is quite thick. If you don't mind the packaging or have someone who is willing to transfer it into alternative packaging for you, this conditioner is really nice in my opinion. I have eczema and dry skin, and I was dealing with a constantly itchy scalp that was flaking off onto my shoulders even when I was using other products that were free of SLS. It wasn't fungal dandruff, so traditional dandruff products did not help. Since switching to this line a few years ago, the itching and flaking have gone away, and my hair is shiny. The conditioner doesn't do much for frizz, but it is great at detangling. For what it's worth, I have frizzy, wavy/curly hair that is medium thickness and low porosity. Be aware that this product contains menthol and tea tree oil, which I believe some people find irritating. It doesn't seem to bother my scalp, though. I don't like the way the product smells when I'm in the shower because I don't like minty smells, but I never notice the smell once I have rinsed my hair, and my partner says he can't smell it on me. This product does give your scalp a cooling sensation, which I remember really loving when I first started using the products and my scalp was still very itchy. It's not super strong and does not last incredibly long, but it definitely soothes for 5-10 minutes or so. (I let it sit on my scalp for about 5 minutes in the shower, so you may notice it less if you rinse it out more quickly.)Jayset

I normally don't do reviews but this one was needed!!! I recently got a sew in and my scalp was soooo itchy. I didn't want to wash my hair because I literally got my hair did a week ago. I saw this oil and bought it and applied it to my scalp. My scalp is no longer itchy. I got relief now I can enjoy my sew I for another week or so till I get my touch up.
My small knotless braids are about a week old, but there's still some tension. My head isn't on fire, but there's definitely some discomfort. I've had this oil for a while, but haven't used it much. Remembered I had it as I was searching for braid spray. I applied a just a little to the areas with the most tension, and I felt immediate relief. My head still feels good. I was scared that the braids would slip out, but so far, so good.

After suffering psoriasis on my scalp for most of my life it had increased in the last few years. I tried this shampoo on the recommendation of a fellow sufferer. Although I love making my own oil mixtures to promote healthy scalp and assist with hair growth, I love this oil. The price is awesome and one bottle normally lasts me about a month or two. It smells soooo good and I love how lightweight the formula is. I have ultra sensitive skin and scalp and this oil does not irritate me or make my scalp itch as with some other oils. There is very minimal build up from this product. It makes your hair shine look super healthy when it is applied to your scalp. When I straighten my hair I love to apply this to my scalp and brush through my hair as I wrap it at night. By the morning there is no frizz, my hair has a bunch of shine and no oily residue left behind and doesn't weigh my hair down. When my hair is in its natural curly/coily state I like to apply to damp or dry hair and massage it into my scalp for about 5-10 minutes. I have to say this shampoo is just amazing. I have been suffering scalp psoriasis for more than 10 years (43,F) and in the last few years it has spread to at least 60% of my scalp. I have tried plenty of shampoos (natural and medicated) and managed my diet and taken oral supplements and none of them have given such a quick result. I have only been using it 6 times in the three weeks (alternating wash with a gentle shampoo) and it has given me such a relief not to have itchy scalp all the time. I would suggest that once you wash your hair, take care to put a heavy duty conditioner (only on the hair strands not scalp) as the shampoo feels drying. Its a small price to pay for clear scalp. FYI, i am also taking evening primrose oil (which i started at the same time) so this may also be a factor. The shampoo doesn't smell as bad as i thought it would. My child has issues with an itchy scalp, and after doing my research, I decided this was the better product to buy her. Her hair is long and the most beautiful blonde, and I was helping comb her hair after using this and I realized her hair had turned a browny yellow brassy color. I immediately grabbed my bottle of purple shampoo and luckily got her blonde again. Unfortunately I don't want to use this again on her hair. I have hopes that this one wash worked a bit at least though as the shampoo did give her relief from the itchiness.Brinikins
A very good NON-Hormonal (!) therapeutic shampoo specifically when you have a redness, dandruff, seborrhea, different types of skin allergy – red, itchy rash that can include small blisters or bumps on your head. In my case it is a food allergy and I use T-Gel several times a week to make my head free of allergic skin conditions. Sometimes I use the shampoo every day when its necessary, especially in case of eating food allergens – chocolate, coffee, red color food and citrus fruit. It works perfect for me. Just wash my head twice, wait for a couple of minutes with the shampoo on the scalp, massage the scalp gently and then wash it off carefully. Voila! Your scalp becomes much healthier and it has less allergy symptoms. Certainly the main idea is to eliminate food allergy in my case.
