Best Hard Floor And Carpet Vacuum (2024 Update)

Honestly haven’t had any major complaints about the vacuum. We do have kids so we use it probably every other day to 2 days. It’s a compact vacuum which is a plus. The one tiniest complaint I’d have is after going back and forth a couple times there are some items that you would think the vacuum would pick up, but doesn’t. Instead, I use the detachable wand for those odd pieces. I should clarify, the vacuum has picked up 99% of what is seen on the carpet. It’s just those random odd stragglers and it doesn’t happen every time. As for our tiles, I just use the wand to pick up anything necessary then jet swift it but that’s a different product.GL

To start off I would have to say that the Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum is a high quality performing product. There is very great suction when it comes to pet hair and even popcorn in the carpet that my child had spilled. The spinning brush is adjustable to many settings. Such as bare floor to higher profile carpet. It does a great job of pulling dirt and hair out of my medium profile carpet. It isn't to heavy so when I use the extended hose handle I can carry it from place to place. One thing in was not a fan of was the multi dusting piece. It was a little to bulky to fit into my window seal to get that dirt out. The smaller end was also not long and thin enough to fit into my dryer vent. The dusting piece also added extra unnecessary bulk. It is a nice concept but it isn't as great as the individual pieces. Other than my opinion on the duster, I really enjoy and love my Dirt Devil Endura Max Upright vacuum. If you are contemplating this purchase, I recommend you try this product. Other than marrying my ex husband, buying this vacuum was the worst decision of my life. It is bulky and cheap plastic. Extremely loud and makes my arm go numb from all of the vibration! It has a "hardwood" setting but the brush still spins in that setting, which can scratch the hardwood. I was excited about the pet brush attachment, but is doesn't really work since the attachment will NOT stay on the hose or in the attachment holder, for that matter. It does not have much suction, I feel running a lint brush over the carpet would pick up more! I won't even give this vaccum away because I wouldn't want anyone to hate me!BBB Customer

I am a highly experienced electronic repair technician. I just rebuilt a Shark Rotator Professional lift-away vacuum. Of course users fail to replace or clean all three filters causing loss of suction. Cleaning these with warm water and dawn dish soap works best. The unit claims to have thermal monitoring protection on the brush roll base and its design is causing the complaints of failure to work on carpeting in consumer homes. There is no thermal sensor. It uses a D.C. motor to a circuit board where a series low ohm current drop resistor exists. When the motor is slowed , thwe motor draws more current which lowers the resistence in the moter resistor series circuit causing increased voltage drop on the resistor triggering the circuit and activating the motors disconnect relay turning off motor. Although it does much to protect the motor in case of armature freezing with current applied. It makes the consumer unhappy because they cant vacuum carpets as they expect to paying almost 400 dollars for this nice vacuum. The fast fix is simply taking a soldering iron and lifting on side of the feed back silicon diode and reassembling unit. Now you will find the brush roll attachment actually works and does an awesome cleaning job on any carpet. Be sure to use caution and not pick up things that will jam the brush roller and break the belt. If this happens please turn off vacuum unplug and remove obstruction from brush roller. Then plug back in and finish vacuuming. I hope this helps others, mine is now issue less and working awesome.MissTiffany2025

Okay, this vacuum cleaner is actually FUN to run! It’s lightweight and very flexible. The long wand makes getting corners, cracks and crevices a breeze. Only drawback is the base will tip over if you stretch the hose too far, so keep an eye on it as you use the wand. Cleaning stairs is easy with the “Lift Away” feature. The NV501 has strong suction and durability. Do your regular maintenance as other reviews have mentioned, and store it properly. It’s super easy to take apart when needed. I accidentally sucked up a microfiber cloth once, but was able to open the hose at the right spot and pull the cloth right out. We’ve had our NV501 for almost a decade and still no problems. Have purchased this particular model as gifts for friends and family. Highly recommended.DB

I’ve had this model for about 5 years and yes occasionally you’ll have to cut some hair off the powdered brush if you have long hair or girls around or just heavy traffic I guess but that takes literally 20 seconds. Grab a pair of scissors, cut the hair and pull it out. Any vacuum with a brush is going to eventually wrap up hair! The vacuum has one killer motor, it cleans like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’m continuously impressed by the vast amount of dander, dust, and allergens it grabs every single time! I love how the handle comes off to clean small areas such as my couch cushions, behind furniture, etc. (I have this model which cane with ALL the attachments so I may have paid a bit more but it was definitely worth it) the only other difference is the colors. Mine has dark blue where the red is shown. I absolutely love how I can detach the base when going up stairs as shown in the photo. I don’t use the tiny “car part cleaners” which also came with the bulk of attachments but I guess it’s there if I were to ever need it. My fav attachment is the smaller roller brush that literally eats every cat hair off my dining room chairs and wherever else I need it. Anyway I suppose I could go on but you get my drift. By the way of course after awhile the vacuum will accumulate dust around the base and hose (I’ve seen someone post photos here of their dirty vacuum lol) but it’s a vacuum! It’s going to get dirty! My last thought pertains to the newest model I believe, the NV1000 with the “self cleaning brush” or double brush very bulky looking one. Although I haven’t used it, I personally don’t think it is going to sell much in the end. I say that with regards to the current reviews and complaints along with the marketing aspect in mind. What I conclude is just logical: once again as long as there is a revolving brush or in this case 2 rolling brushes, in time there WILL BE a hair issue as long as there are women, girls, and pets around. Out of the box, the vacuum was great. Sucked up everything. Within a month, it was basically a glorified hand vacuum. The only way I can get it to do anything is to use remove the hose and the attachments. The actual suction when using it upright is terrible. It vibrates like a dolphining F1 race car, makes a hideous popping and hissing sound from the side, and worst of all, leaves fuzz, dirt , and giant hard balls of lint all over my floors rather than actually cleaning them. Using this vacuum is more work than simply using a broom and a hand held dirt Devil. Customer service was helpful in trying to fix the issues but the suggested solve didn't work. The vacuum is a lemon…complete waste of the time and money spent.Card Lady

It does quality performing for pet hair to include the turbo extension tool for upholstery. DO READ ALL the instructions so you know how to properly use it. Don't assume! The tools are ill placed with the placement and storage of the electrical cord (always falling off). The telescope for the hose to attachments doesn't lock properly and always ALWAYS pushing back in. I don't have an issue with pet hair on the roller getting stuck, but I do with human hair and any amount of length to trash. The spot where the hose connects to the canister is constantly getting clogged because it is small and narrow, needs to be wider. Pay CLOSE attention when taking the filter out of the canister and putting it back; there is a reason it is meticulously marked. The alignment must be perfect or it won't go back together properly; this is the same for everything on the vacuum. Hard to push when vacuuming (hence one of the reasons I said to read instructions carefully)? You have to provide some air to release the amount of suction, so it moves easier with the little knob on the left; by the way, it moves also on its own.feltermail

Within 1 minute of its' first use this model #2475 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo had its' brush roll stop spinning before a small 10×10 foot area was complete. The belt assembly is centre mounted so debris from both sides of the brush roll collects towards its' centralized belt motor which sits open with nothing to protect it from debris. This results in it being the furthest thing from the "tangle free" unit it is advertised as. Removal of the head screws holding the bottom cover in place is quite easy so I was able to see what was causing the jam (see picture attached). The manufacturer claims the unit can accept hair length of 4-8 inches. The longest of the hairs in this pictures is 3 inches, so the job in question should have been well within the manufacturer's guidelines. Upon reassembling the base the unit promptly got jammed a second time. After once again removing the clog I decided to give it a different task, cleaning hardwood. This unit has a key feature for those with hardwood floors, its' brush can turn on/off, saving your hardwood from being scratched by the roller. Sadly there is very little suction (see video attached). I found without the brush roll spinning the machine picks up essentially nothing. The last major feature this unit is its' heavily marked "pet hair eraser" attachments. The Pet Turbo Eraser" is nothing more than the same "turbo brush" or "handi-mate" that has been commonplace on vacuum's since the 1950's. The "two in one" pet brush is a traditional fabric brush as is the crevice tool. There is nothing fundamentally different with these attachments than what is industry standard from most vacuum suppliers. I've had Bissell units before, the last being the significantly cheaper "Clearview Alergen Lift-Off Pet Upright Vaccuum." It lasted 2 years before dying a few weeks after its warranty expired precipitating the purchase of this Turbo model. All in all a poor vacuum. Don't buy this.Jimmy

I’ve never in my life owned a Dyson but I finally decided to splurge and I’m glad I did! Here are my first impressions after getting up at the crack of dawn excited to test it out haha! It’s much quieter than I thought which is appreciated for those early morning cleanups after my toddler makes a mess but my older daughter is still sleeping. That laser is amazing but terrible at the same time…holy lord the stuff it was bringing to my attention was wild. I love the attachments and the one that lets you make it a 90 angle to go right under couches and furniture…chefs kiss. The floor dok is also a really nice feature as I don’t really have somewhere to mount it to the wall. It’s definitely heavier than I anticipated it to be. I do find I’m switching arms a lot so for someone who may be older or limited mobility it may be a bit cumbersome. I don’t hate that you have to press the button constantly to keep it on as it’s easier when you need to stop and go, but I do find it a bit awkward and my hand is a touch sore. I had it fully charged and used it for just over an hour and it’s now dead; I accomplished two floors, two sets of stairs and a couch set in that time. I only have hard floors besides two area rugs which are ruggables, and with the laser brush it has to be on eco otherwise it pulls them up. The other head it comes with does not work at all over ruggables. I don’t have any other ‘carpet’ so I cannot speak to its abilities with that. There are so many attachments this model comes with but there’s no where to store them – I would like to see some extra attachments for the floor dok to store them all. All in all though, highly satisfied with my purchase. I feel as though this is a prime example of “pay for what you get”. It’s a hefty price tag but I suspect this will last me years!Lindz02

This vacuum has the best suction and with 2 golden retrievers I need it but here are the cons It’s heavy and you have to hold in the switch to keep it running guessing this is to preserve the battery. All of the weight of the vacuum as at your wrist and hand and while 4.5 lbs doesn’t seem like much as you are holding it and the on button it is very stressful to your arm wrist and hand. When moving from hardwood to shag (I have all hardwood and two 8×10 shag type area rugs) the beater bar stops and the machine quits working even when you stop and move it to the highest setting so it won’t vacuum my area rugsI can’t even hardly push it through the carpet. I can let it and set it down and pull it. . It will do low pile rugs. Then it won’t stand up on its own you have to lean it on something or never stop vacuuming. I can get through most of my house 1400 square foot with the light before it dies or moves to eco. The head does not easily release to use just the end to get into tight spaces or replace with another attachment. The cord for the battery is actually quite short if you’re hoping to plug it in a closet or hide away place. Sleek as it may seem I don’t want a vacuum hanging up as decor so I’m going to have to add a plug somewhere out of sight. The pros are the light and suction provided you can really get every hair and see all dust if your room is not to bright the light really shows everything I turn down the lights to vacuum crazy I will definitely not buy another and totally regret this purchase for the price it really should come with two batteries and be able to vacuum carpet. I LOVE DYSON. It’s been a love affair for @15 or so years. I had the V-6 and made an excuse that college child needed so I could get the V-11animal. No one in my house were allowed to use. It WAS my baby – empty nester at the time. I bought it shortly after it first came out so it has the screwed in battery. I needed a cordless vacuum that was able to pick up Belgian Malinois Shepard fur from H _ _ _, easy to use, lighter than a full vacuum BUT WORK AS WELL OR BETTER than a full-size – I have chronic back pain and fibromyalgia and numbness… Yes in my crazy perfect vacuum dream world this existed and it DID! Thanks Dyson! It checked EVERY box of my needs, well except price. It was the most I have ever spent on something for me but dang it I deserved it and NEEDED it. It has been absolutely incredible! I would have told you 2 years ago do whatever you need to and buy bc it has incredible suction, awesome holders for tools with wall mount and on pole, adjustable suction on torque floor tool, adjust able power – Eco for low dirt area, Auto and Boost for deeper and stronger suction. So those are PROS. CONS are you need to press trigger to power it so with my neuropathy in hands at times I cannot vac, need to remove any attachments to empty dirt bin, after @8-12 months the bin empty slide started to stick, and then at 2 years (WARRANTY EXPIRED) and @5 months it started to shut off and then turn on. Called customer support and and they did a video troubleshoot and said it’s the battery. Well no battery in stock. Actually ABSOLUTELY ZERO SPARE PARTS for my baby have been in stock for over a month now! A week or so later it stopped more and then shut down. Called again and told it was the cyclone part (a guy on YouTube had same exact issue but his warranty was still active) BUT NO PART available. He told me to call or go to my nearest Dyson service center. Well the nearest in @1.25hrs. away. I do not have a car – getting divorced so I took my Dyson V11 animal and he got our 25 y/o car worth about the same. He fought for my V11 which was honestly a no win – I don’t know what he was thinking. Lol Plus the service center when I finally reached a person said that maybe it’s the trigger and I could mail it in. I still haven’t decided bc why pay to ship something that there’s no parts for? I rarely ever leave reviews but this thing is great! This is my first Dyson purchase and I have a German Shepard mix who sheds constantly, this V11 handles his hair with ease. I love the flexibility to use it anywhere with the attachments that are included, my personal favorite is the mini motorized tool. The simple design makes it easy to clean and maintenance. This thing picks up dirt that you don’t even see, especially in carpets and area rugs. I am also one who cares about packaging and this thing is packaged perfectly. The only downside, like all electronics is the battery life. 5 to 6 minutes on boost mode is not enough for a vacuum of this cost. I would like to see Dyson sell an additional king power cord that can be used to power the vacuum directly more like a traditional vacuum if needed for those of us with bigger houses with lots of carpeted areas.Jxustin

After reading these reviews I can't help but think that these machines are designed to last for roughly 2.5 years. My machine did the exact same thing that others have written about. I purchased this machine back in January 2020, about a month ago it started cutting off during use. The cutting off started getting more frequently to the point where the machine stays on for about 2 seconds before cutting off which makes it inoperable. So I call the service center to be told that my machine is out of warranty as of January 2022 and a replacement motor will cost $116. It is really unfortunate that a $700 machine is designed to last 2.5 years before you have to put more money into it. The sad part about it is that most people will pay the $116 because you can not get a new decent vac for that price and secondly, you have already invested $700 in this machine. It is very disheartening, and I wish I would have went with a different brand.Trise

Having purchased two Dyson handhelds in the past, I thought I would give Hoover a try this time around (as I do own a pull around canister Hoover that I've had since 2007 and its been awesome) . Unfortunately, I am left disappointed. If you want a vacuum that won't suck up the smallest of crumbs but rather push them around and shoot them out in every direction causing you more work, clogs up with little to no dust particles constantly, and then get zero help or back up from their customer support, then this is the vacuum for you! Because the vacuum couldn't be returned to store once it was used, I contacted the company directly. They proceeded to copy and paste their "de-clogging" instructions, and then ignored the rest of my emails. I am capable of reading a manual and this didn't help me what-so-ever. I cannot believe they actually advertise this as a PET model, because I am using it for much less dirty jobs than pet hair and/or litter, etc. and it's essentially useless. The only good thing I have found about it is the dual batteries and the battery life. However, that isn't very helpful alone when the vacuum doesn't do its job properly. Unfortunately due to the lack of support from Hoover itself, I will not be purchasing any more of their products or recommending to anyone else.kmitschke

I am quite impressed with my new vacuum. Every detail of it seems well thought out which means a lot in this day and age. It really seems to be built to last a long time. All the electronic parts are protected. I really appreciate the brushless "digital" motor. Every little detail is engineered like the battery and charger LED animations syncing together. It came with a silent 4-amp fast charger that charges fully in one hour. This is even including that it waits to charge the battery until it is the optimal temp so it doesn't degrade faster. Each battery and the whole vacuum have a three year limited warranty. The batteries have built-in smart BMS's that communicate with the vacuum and charger to make sure the cells are within their optimal ranges. I noticed the wheels are multi-piece with rubber tread unlike other vacuums I've seen. The whole vacuum is quite simple and intuitive. The phone customer service was some of the best I've ever had. The packaging was recyclable, even the plastic bags. The regular mode seems to clean better than our old corded Shark vacuum and the boost mode is crazy and like suctions it to the carpet. It gets a whopping 9 minutes of run time on boost mode though. The brushroll head is like 3/4 the width of the Shark's so you have to do more lines. The brushroll motor stopped many times to cool down today while I was vacuuming our nasty apartment's carpet. I needed to swap batteries a few times. I charged the other battery while I was using the other. I got the second battery for free as a promotion and it's very needed. Being a cordless stick vacuum is really quite nice but while it can go all the way under couches the weight is located where your hand is which makes it feel a lot heavier than it is. The hours of online research I did was definitely worth it. It would've been a five-star review but Hoover/FedEx's communication on the payment and shipping was very non-existent. Did lots of research on many different brands/types of battery powered handheld vacuums for auto and coffee cart cleaning. I roast my own coffee, addicted to espresso daily and those things can be a bit messy at times. This vacuum makes very short/efficient work of cleaning everything I put it through. I could tell just by unboxing it that the build quality is outstanding just based on the feel of the materials used, let alone actually charging/using it. The system is very well thought out with every possible attachment needed for all sorts of mild/moderate cleaning jobs. Very compact to get into the most confined areas too. The filtration system is as efficient as advertised as it never loses suction and the actual filter stays spotless due to the design. Super easy to empty the filter container with no mess/inconvenience. Have seen a few complaints in reviews regarding the battery capacity and yes it does fade when being pushed on MAX cleaning, but it does a great/quick job nonetheless. People should understand you simply can't have MAX performance/capacity simultaneously… Both battery packs give good runtime for the use I put it through and charge in a reasonable amount of time and don't experience any sort of low self-discharge when sitting on a shelf unused for any realistic period of time. Nice to have the option to buy more packs as these age as we have had to toss other brands when the battery fades due to it NOT being user serviceable and just dies. Last point I will make is the awesome design of the powered brush roller as it works very well at various angles and being able to remove the brush roller for easy cleaning is ingenious. Most other brands require the debris to be cut/pulled off of that part due to terrible design.Thomas

Ordered this bundle for such a great deal! Unfortunately, the item was delivered to the wrong address by FedEx. Totally not Hoover's fault. They re-shipped another bundle to me, and it worked out well the second time. I love these vacuums! They do a great job on our hardwoods and rugs and carpet. Our two year old loves to help vacuum too – that's how light the stick vacuum is! Being cordless is such a plus!!! Only wish that the batteries weren't so expensive, but that's not a huge deal. We purchased one extra battery just so both the handheld and stick have their own batteries. I will say that the handheld is far inferior to the stick, but it works for what we need (to do the stairs and our cars) – just have to go over the same areas multiple times, as the suction isn't stellar. I would recommend and purchase the stick vacuum again for sure… just probably not the handheld.Moon

I bought this cordless vac because I like any conveniences I can get when it comes to house work. I use my floor cleaners more often when cordless. I can glady skip wrapping/unwrapping, plugging/unplugging cords in and out of electrical outlets from room to room. I've been happy with this cordless since I got it last July (not quite one year old). It was an upgrade overall from what I had. However the hose got a hole in it not about 6-7 months in. Not from anything I could figure out. I duct taped it and after a second hole, I contacted the Manufacturer, since it's still within a 3 year warranty. They said the hose is not made anymore – already out of making the parts??? They will replace it — okay, — but I have to mail the whole vac back on my dime. They will pay for the shipment of the new unit. Which may be kinda fair, but it's too soon for this type of episode with a not quite a year old vacuum. Since the parts are not being made – there's no commitment to this product by the mfr. I did not buy at this store, but thought I would let someone know if considering — please don't do it.Chickee

I was going back and forth between this and the shark navigator cordless. They seemed pretty even on reviews. I mostly decided on this because it's was on sale on the Hoover website! I had to wait a little longer to get it then I would from other sites(about 5 days from the day I ordered it) but it was worth the price difference for sure. I was worried about it as I have 4 dogs. A great dane(high shedder short hair), a Mini Aussie( How shedder clumpy hair), a King Shepherd(high shedder clumpy long hair) and a Cheweenie(high shedder short hair. I also have a maine coon cat. So, I essentially have lots of hair everywhere, all the time. I do NOT know how this performs on carpers because I bought it for my wood floors( bathrooms(2), hallway, entryway, dining room, and kitchen.) So far it has worked great for me. I have had ZERO clog issues despite the amount of hair it has to pick up and I have been able to vacuum all the above mentioned rooms in one swoop without the battery going dead. It picks everything up easily. I actually accidentally sucked up a good size piece of paper today and really though it would cause my first clog, but atlas it didn't. So far this vacuum is performing perfectly for me. I think the only downside I can think of as of now is the fact that a replacement battery is 100$. However, there are off brand batteries other places that are compatible with this vacuum for half the price, and the reviews on them state that they actually work better than the original hoover battery… So, I will probably just go that route whenever I need a new battery. If you want a cordless for wood (or any non carpeted) floors, this one is definitely recommended. And it does hold up against that pet hair!Ameri5

We purchased the Shark corded stick model at Target a few years ago. At first it was great, and I recommend it for smaller houses or apartments since it's lightweight and small. It's powerful for its size. But it's not super durable. From what I've read, Shark doesn't make many replacement parts and there aren't many opportunities to repair their products. After about 2 years, several important parts were broken, including the hinge holding the dust cup together. We've been using packing tape to hold together the dust cup, and we have to cut off the tape to empty it and then re-tape it shut every time. Also the main little interior hose at the bottom that connects the head to the stick cracked wide open. The brush gets wrapped with long hair easily. The suction is pretty bad now, probably because of all these issues. Overall pros: It's great on wood floors, good on rugs, and works well while it lasts. Lightweight and easy to maneuver and carry up stairs. I like the attachments and they're easy to use. Long cord. Bagless is more environmentally friendly, although it's best to empty it into a plastic bag anyways. It's a good deal when it's on sale for $100. Overall cons: Doesn't stand up on its own. Cheaply made. The dust bin is really small. It's a hassle to empty the dust bin because you have to unplug the whole vacuum and carry the entire cord out to the trash can with you to empty the cup. Also, bagless vacuums just seem dirtier to me since the dust and hair isn't actually contained. It's always gross emptying it and trying to avoid the cloud of crap flying up at you. It is amazing honestly. We vacuumed our carpets with our old Shark right before we went to Target to look for a new one. We came home and vacuumed again over all of it. The canister filled up TWICE. I was mortified lol. This vacuum has powerful suction and harder tips on the roller that RAKE the carpet and get the film of dog hair out of my thick plush carpeting. I’m not lying. If I was unimpressed, I would tell you so! You DO have to empty the canister more than you would any other vacuum because it is small. If you are continuously vacuuming every room in your house and not emptying, you are going to put extra stress on the motor. It IS a stick vacuum. If you need heavy duty, 5-6 rooms at a time vacuuming, this isn’t your vacuum. I had to empty after EACH room because my vacuum obviously wasn’t doing its job. But I expect next time I won’t (I hope) because I will be pulling out the vacuum daily and keeping the dirt to a minimal in general. I really wanted cordless but my man insisted he didn’t want to deal with battery issues. I’ve never had a cordless and I just wanted one so bad. Cords irritate me and get in my way lol. But this purchase was good. So far I am very satisfied. I will definitely come back and redo my review if I feel like my opinion has changed in a couple months. I’ve had this vacuum for 4 years. Here are my thoughts: PROS 1. Good suction, still finds dust and dirt and pet hair 2. Lightweight and really low profile so you can vacuum under things easily 3. Price is amazing for the quality 4. No bags and all the filters I can clean out on my own and reuse. Huge cost and environmental savings. 5. Easy and fast detach / attach for getting corners and using the tools that come with it. 6. Dust bin opens easily and smart so I can hold it over the trash and won’t get dust everywhere. Less messy to empty than others. CONS 1. Corded 2. Hose broke down in head where it bends and flexes as you vacuum, I noticed it at year 3.5, so I had to replace that segment of hose (had holes/cracks in it). I purchased a hose at Home Depot and found some instructions online. Overall it was moderately hard to replace. 3. Suction does not adjust when you vacuum over rugs like the expensive name brand competitor so I have to stand on one end to hold the rug down due to the suction wanting to pickup the rug. 4. Doesn’t sit upright, must lean against a wall when it’s not hanging on the wall given it is too heavy. My only con (after owning a windtunnel) is the hose is too short. And I keep knocking my vacuum over when using it because of that fact. Otherwise I really enjoy how light weight it is. Great for everyday use; especially because my cats shed like crazy. Picks up all the dirt and dust.Christine

First, I don't know if this was a repackaged vacuum cleaner, the hose has a section that is partially collapsed, and there's a section of power cord that has a little bit of insulation missing. Small things I didn't feel worth sending the vacuum back. The only gripe I have is the roller brush cannot be turned off while dusting, but then if it had that feature you'd be paying more this this unit.James

I've been using this product for a little over a month. My first initial reaction was that this product is just okay. A few weeks later my feelings haven't changed. First thing I noticed was that the battery life isn't great. On regular mode I can get the entire house (minus one carpeted room that's about 120 sqft or so) vacuumed and still have a some battery life left. Our house is about 1500 sqft. What I really dislike is that on the max suction mode the battery lasts about seven to 10 minutes on a full charge. I understand that it is high battery usage but on heavy cleaning and dusting days this is frustrating. After a regular vacuuming session I have to wait another five hours for this thing to fully charge just to use it another few minutes in order to get dusting done which is extremely inconvenient. If Dyson would have made it with the option to work while on the charger / still plugged in it would have made ALL of the difference. I haven't used it on the one room in our house that is carpeted and I honestly don't know if that is even possible with any of the connections. It didn't come with a user manual like all other products electronic products that I have purchased. It did have a sheet that gave you a link to an online user manual but I am more of a paper in my face type of person. I have having to click through links to find what I need. It does come with quite a few connectible pieces. I don't really know what the difference between a few of them are or what they're even called but I haven't had any issues using them so no complaints with those. The item itself is extremely convenient and easy to use. I REALLY wish that it came with maybe a retractable chord to plug in when the batter life isnt sufficient. I think for the price it's not worth it. Overall; three out of five stars, mainly because of the battery life and lack of a proper user's manual.ItsMe

I have been a Dyson owner since early 2005 (I still have that one and it still works). I was using the Dyson V7 Animal until my wife purchased this upgraded one for me. Right away, I could feel and see the difference! With 2 children, a large dog (that never stops shedding), and my wife and I, keeping our house clean is nearly impossible. The Dyson V8 Animal Pro has been amazing and extremely helpful! I only have 3 general complaints about it, which stop me from giving it a 5 Star Review. First, the container becomes full very quickly and having to empty it so often is a little annoying (I know the newer models have addressed that). Second, the stick portion is a little short for taller people like me and I don’t think that adding a second stick would function well not be practical; this causes me to have to lean over while vacuuming, which means my back starts aching. Third, a lack of accessories! There are more attachment tools for my V7 than my newer V8. More directly, there doesn’t seem to be a hard floor attachment option. I have checked their website, but there are no hard floor tools offered for this vacuum (Dyson V8 Animal Pro). I would be particularly interested in the tool that worked on both the carpet and hard floors. Other than that, I really do love this little vacuum.DaBear

This is the second Dyson I have owned. The previous one I purchased at a retailer that offered an extended warranty for purchase. The vacuum stopped working shortly after the Dyson two year warranty. The extended warranty company was great. We sent the vacuum to them and they determined they could not repair it and refunded the entire amount that we paid for the vacuum. The second one we purchased at Costco and they did not offer the extended warranty, but talked us into purchasing because they would take back if we had any problems. Well once again right after the two year Dyson warranty has expired, the vacuum is not working correctly again. Pretty sure Costco won't take back after two years, although I will also complain to them. They are a great vacuum, just a lot of expense for something that lasts only two years. I hope some of the other companies venturing into cordless stick vacuums become successful because I don't want to keep buying a vacuum that does not last.K Wood

I really wanted to love this vac Pros: – Excellent for floors; gets most corner and crevice dirt with just the brush head; even gets up dust well (5 stars for floor cleaning) – Decent suction on carpet @ med speed; doesn’t always feel like it’s picking up, but it is (don’t expect vacuum lines though) – Brush head is small enough for steps – Extremely lightweight – Came with a wall mount kit, crevice tool and a combo brush tool – Can stand on its own when positioned correctly, so no need to lay the vac down first to pick up something off the floor (I wouldn’t store it that way around kids or pets as it doesn’t “lock” in an upright position) Cons: – Battery life: decent on floors, so so when vacuuming large area rugs, and terrible on carpet @ med speed (@ turbo, the timer goes so fast, you feel like you’re disarming bombs in the movie Die Hard) – You need backup batteries to vacuum a small fully carpeted apartment or detail a car – Combo brush wouldn’t stay fully extended in brush mode – Takes too long to charge (total “minute man”) – Need to maneuver the control unit to make sure the brush head stays flat when vacuuming under beds – Even if the brush head can fit under furniture, you may not be able to vacuum under the item as the brush head may be stopped by how it’s designed (to connect to the stick) – Owner’s manual would be better if it gave tips and trips for usage to save battery life while cleaning Overall: My whole downstairs is hardwood, so I got this vac for my floors, carpeted steps, and car. It’s vacuums floors very well and you can do most of the cleaning with just the regular brush head. I only used the combo brush and crevice tool for small or awkward spaces for floors. For carpet, you need the crevice tool for baseboards. Note: the slightest bump makes the combo brush tool disengage from brush position, which gets extremely annoying. It doesn’t get under the furniture that I hoped it would due to the design of the brush head; it would be stopped. When vacuuming under something, you will need to maneuver the top to make sure the brush head stays flat (I had to lay on the floor while vacuuming under my bed to keep it in the right position). I wouldn’t use this on carpet when I’m deep cleaning my home; just for quick cleaning. It picks up well enough on carpet @ med speed, however turbo gives a deeper clean but you couldn’t get more than a large area rug done at that speed before the battery died. (see pic – it took around 11 mins to vacuum my avg sized main bdrm – including under the king sized bed – @ med speed (actually dropped to 32 mins but I had to turn it on to take pic and it actually lost 4 mins, due to turning off and on, in the 30 secs I took to position correctly for a couple of pics bc I took the first one upside down). This unit is perfect for dorm rooms, or small apartments with more way more hardwood than carpet. Outside of that, if you stick to using it on floors, you won’t be disappointed. For now, I’ll keep using my plug in stick vac for carpet and area rugs. Note: I didn’t try it on curtains or upholstery bc I was too frustrated with the combo brush tool collapsing.vbcrawford

1. A 2nd Battery should be Included with the intial purchase. High power suction is rarely USEFUL as it drains the Battery run-time MUCH TOO FAST to clean more than A VERY SMALL surface area. 2. The floor tool LEDs, are very "bright" to our eyes but only "Dimly & barely" light up more than even a few inches of floor. Those tool lights are placed too low, their lighting is too unfocused, and that also leaves the other tools with no lighting. Solution: 2a. Leave the LEDs ON the floor tool but also ADD a circular ring of LEDs to the main body of the vacuum. 2b. Use a lens to spot-focus ALL of the lights. Space them so the edges of each of their lighting areas slightly overlap. 2c. That would create high & low, mini-LED spotlights, with focused, overlapping lighting coverage, that is usable with every attachment & also more effective w/the floor tool. 3. Include a lights On/Off option. LEDs ARE efficient but, battery-run-time WILL be longer if the lights aren't needed & can be turned off. 3. Can that white filter be water rinsed & air dried? If not, Then, 3a. Publicize the cleaning steps necessary to re-clean it. 3b. Engineer a future, purchasable filter replacement that IS eithet water rinse-able & air dry-able OR, easily re-cleanable. (The following is a product Feature Request, for a future version of this vacuum. It is NOT a Criticism.) 4.Can future iterations/versions of this vacuum include 4a. additional internal sensors that would trigger the Wyze app to issue the following notifications via our (the customers) choice of Phone/Alexa/Google: 4b. "Replace Vacuum Battery!" (Rechargeable Battery capacity has dropped below "XY" Percent of Original 100% recharge capacity!) 4c. "Clean or Replace the White/HEPA Vacuum Filter!" (HEPA Filtration efficiency has dropped below HEPA standards!" If cleaning the filter eliminates this warmini-spotlights reducing avoidable waste. 5. Wyze has the opportunity to not only do good but, to also do well by, 5a. reducing their replacement item cost & enhancing their top line profit, thru the savings realized from 5b. Recycling ♻️ & Recovering ♻️ the reusuable parts of the returned batteries' chemicals via 5c. The returned HEPA filters' frames & paper coming back in thru the Mailers. I bought this particular vacuum because I had used one at a friends's. I ordered mine on June 23rd and received it the next day! I was so excited! Three days later my friend called and said not to get the vacuum because her battery stopped charging and she had only had it for 4 months! Well, I kept mine thinking hers was a fluke but nope! After 4 1/2 months, my battery has stopped charging! I have tried to call the 1-800 number but it keeps saying "due to weather" they are closed and to call back. I've had many vacuums over the years and this is the worst. I extensively research items before I buy them to be sure they have the features I'm looking for, which is why I chose this product. If I could send it beck, I would. The dust cup disconnects from the handle regularly and already I've lost suction. It completely disconnects and falls apart with very little handling. It doesn't "prop up" on anything in my house like it says it should. Eureka is a good brand and I've had other stick vacs but this is awful.Jo

When I unpackaged my Eureka Rapid Clean pro, my first thought that it was too light weight and didnt look like it could handle much nor would the battery big long enough to make it around my house. I will say that I own a Kirby, Dyson, and no this Eureka so I have quite a bit to compare it to. Style wise it was similar to my Dyson V6 but not nearly as heavy. Super easy to assemble- I didnt even bother reading the instructions. I charged it up and took it around the house. Lucky for this review we are renovating our home so there is plenty of dust from hanging, texturing, and sanding drywall, 60 year old insulation fluff in and on everything and every corner and much more. I've been using my Dyson primarily before I received this just because its easier to grab- the Eureka Rapid Pro is MUCH lighter and just as easy to cart around. I LOVE that the head of the vacuum seems to sit really low to the ground where my other stick vacuum is a little higher and tends to grab things that are "too big" for it to handle and thus just shoot it out of the back- this Eureka is low enough that it doesnt really grab what it can't handle. I also love the extra wheels on the head allowing for REALLY nice range of motion.. and the LIGHT! Never thought a light on the head of a cordless vacuum would come in so handy but its life changing! I could SEE where the dust was under the bed and go where I needed and be done rather than just aimlessly moving it around and hoping I got what I needed to. Lastly- the battery life was wayyyy longer than my Dyson. I even used it- LET IT UNPLUGGED for a few days, used it again and left it unplugged again and used- that to me is amazing for a small stick vacuum. All in all- this is definitely a little machine with a big presence! Thank you!Anna

Would be a great vacuum for someone with a small home, they only use this on. I’m not a fan of it because I used it for about 2 weeks and it seriously lost suction in that time. I have to clean it after EVERY room and make sure the filter is perfectly clear for it to have just a bit of the suction it started with. Hopefully I just received a dud and it’s not like this for everyone else who purchases it. I do love the size and convenience of this vacuum, it’s very portable and rolls very easily across any floor, I also love that the attachment is already on the handle and all you have to do is pull it down to use it. It would be great for someone who doesn’t have pets and won’t use it as often as I do.Ashley

My belief – this is a good vacuum which will work well for some. The problem I had is 'inadequate attachments' need for versatility.. It really gives you a rather klutzy poor design floor-rug tool. It needs a robust brush tool with bristles for hard surface floors. The one it has is more 'a small strip with ting bristles that keep it from scratching the floor The floor brush' tool needs to be more substantial and with a robust brush. It has no upholstery or crevice tools it has an inadequate tool that is tiny brush tool. The receptacle tank for the dirt is quite small. I suspect it was this way so that it enhances a more powerful suction action but I am not an engineer to know this. It would help to have a bigger tank. I could not adapt the many attachments I already have from many Vacuums I have because pipe size is unique to this vacuum. I have used an older Eureka The Boss Mighty Mite. It was a terrific powerful vacuum with the normal attachments. Eureka is still a trusted maker and I wished it had the attachments I must have for a more versatile useJames

I just moved into a new apartment and have saved up for this Dyson and it was the best decision I have made. My new place is a 2 bed/2 bath apartment with mostly hard floors and carpets in the bedroom. After going to Dyson’s website and taking their quiz. First, I have to suggest going through Dyson’s website to purchase and not through a 3rd party (Amazon, Target, etc). Dyson offers a price match, you are ensured a warranty, if you wish to get additional attachments, you can know you are getting the correct ones. Next, after know about what model and price point I needed, I was able to look at each machine and pick out the best that would work for me, my cleaning routine, and my home. My Dyson came with so many different attachments (included!!!) but the reason I chose this one was it had different heads for one for each type of flooring, carpet or hard floors. I can remove the wand to make the attachments handheld to clean my couch, add it and a soft bristle head to clean the walls and the top corners next to my ceiling. I could go on and on. This isn’t a vacuum… this has replaced so many different tools I used to clean and, above all, my favorite part, as new apartments can come some lingering bugs, I take the head off and can stay far enough away and still catch and dump the creepy-crawlies. It is my new bug killing machine. As I said, I could write a novel about how much I love this Dyson. It was worth every penny.heather.n

First of all; I have a DC33 for almost 10 years and it is still working excellent, I had repaired a minor cosmetic issue but this is a great tool from Dyson. I really appreciate the thoughtful design of these machines and everything that Dyson produces. This is an outstanding company. Now, we bought the V8 Absolute and we are even more impressed with such beautiful design, with such a great details and mostly with the efficiency of a Dyson. I got a V7 in Jan 2019. Initially, and for about 1.5 yrs., I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then my housecleaner told me a charge didn't last more than 10 mins. Because I have another plug-in vacuum, I didn't think much of it at the time. Then I hired another cleaner. She brought her own vacuum so it hasn't been used at all since Jan 2022. Just in the last week, I tried to use it and it only lasted about 30 seconds. I had a very good experience with the website and service person on the phone but I have been advised that a new battery is necessary. If that is correct, I must say that I am disappointed in Dyson. I expected better performance from their machine. For a machine that is 3 1/2 yrs. old and only used perhaps 2 years of that (and not solely because I have another machine), I think the battery should last longer. And, if the cost of the battery is 1/4 of the price of the machine, I think that is even more disappointing. And, it's the cost of the battery + shipping. My carpenter husband has battery powered tools, uses them consistently and has never had to replace a battery. That knowledge doesn't help me. Is it possible that the charging station is defective? At any rate, as much as I loved it in the beginning, I'm pretty unhappy at present. I recommended my vacuum to lots of friends at first but now, I would have to tell them the whole story and what to expect.Bren

I purchased the Shark Navigator® Anti-Allergen Upright Vacuum about a month ago and I absolutely love it! I love how easy it was to assemble and how powerful it is. I have 2 cats and a dog so my house has to be vacuumed at least 4 times a week because of the animal hair. My daughter also has allergies so I love the anti-allergen and that it picks up every speck of dust, hair, and dirt. It feels like it is self propelled and glides so easily across all carpet types. There's really no effort needed to push this thing! I also love how it leaves the deep lines in the carpet because it shows me how clean it is really getting and how deep it picks up. It's the perfect size and I have a family of 4 with 3 pets. The swivel steering makes it so easy to maneuver around any spot and the crevice tools are perfect for hard to reach areas. The dusting brush works beautifully on furniture to remove pet hair and I feel better knowing that it captures and traps 99.9% of dust and allergens. I absolutely love this vacuum and Shark is a well known and trusted brand. This is by far my favorite vacuum ever…hands down!Cvanderpool37

Once assembled, we started using it and was amazed at the power and amount of suction it has. WE only have one fully carpeted room, but I swear, even though I had vacuumed it before, I couldn't believe the amount of dust and dirt came up. The rest of the house has throw and area rugs that also got a good going over, and again, even though they had been vacuumed with our previous vacuum, we got a lot up from them. I have a feeling that we will have a lot less allergies come spring with using this vacuum. I highly recommend this vacuum.Beth

The vacuum comes packaged in four pieces that do require some light assembly. I'm a little instruction challenged but it took me no more than about 10 minutes to complete and quick instructions are on the inside flap of the box so I did not even have to open the owner's guide to get started. A screwdriver or small coin is needed for tightening one screw. Everything else was basically plug and quick connect. Let me first say this thing is amazingly powerful! I cannot believe how much dirt, dust, and pet hair that came up out of my carpet from just the first use. I don't know if I am just that poor of a housekeeper or if my previous vacuum was just that bad but it was both shocking and amazing. With just a single pass, a tornado of fur and dirt was suddenly seen swirling around inside the collection chamber. I could not believe that much pet hair was trapped inside my carpet and this Shark NV130 picked it right up. It was not a problem though as this vacuum is designed with a quick release, quick empty canister I readily dumped when finished. This vacuum worked equally well on my linoleum, hardwoods, and tile floors. Walking on them afterwards, I could feel how smooth they had become, meaning I could easily tell how the vacuum had removed the fine particles and dirt that had been tracked inside the house. I especially like that it gets right up to the edge of baseboards without the need to use extra cleaning tools, although on board are a crevice tool and dusting brush. And yes!!! Finally a vacuum with a sufficient long cord to avoid frequently having to unplug and plug just to vacuum one modest size room. Since I live in a home with multiple flooring (carpet, vinyl, tile, hardwood) and it is nice to go seamlessly from room to room with just a toggle of the power switch located at the top of the vacuum near the handle without having to keep chasing down an electrical outlet to replug. This means I can spend more time vacuuming and less time unplugging and moving the cord from room to room. I could actually vacuum my entire downstairs (roughly 950 sq. ft) by moving the cord only once. The vacuum is on the heavier side. That is not ideal for carrying up and down stairs (as I live in a two-story home). But since I do live in a two story house, I have to say it balances nicely on stairs due to its slim profile without toppling over. Also, due to canister design, it doesn't reach very far under low seated furniture. The extra powerful suction makes it well worth it though and while vacuuming a small rug I could feel it drastically pulling me across to the other side. Other things I love about this Shark Navigator are the attractive maroon color, the swivel handle for easy maneuvering which actually makes it fun to "drive", and the suction release slide lever for those times you vacuum something unintended. So I have a Love-hate relationship with this machine. I hate that the dirty water tank fills up so quickly and that the brush roll gets dirty so fast so your floors not really getting completely clean but it’s convenient that it vacuums sweeps and mops at the same time. I don’t like that it doesn’t do well in corners or right up against the wall or whatever it’s near so half an inch when it’s mopping isn’t getting touched. I really wish it had some sort of attachment to get in the corners so I have to sweep it out to be picked up, like all around the corners the tops of the baseboard under the bed, under the dressers, under the couch and up against the cabinets and wall. The front of the machine won’t fit under my cabinet bottom because the head of the machine is too thick so I have to get a broom and sweep it away from the lip, and the way my cabinets are made at the bottom they are all the way to the floor and they don’t move and where the doors close there’s a 2 inch overhang or lip place under there that you can see but it overhangs so the machine won’t go under it by like a hair. If only it was half an inch to 1/4 of an inch thinner the machine would fit. I don’t like when I go under the bed, I can’t even get halfway under there without the bottom of the machine lifting up off the floor, so it doesn’t get vacuumed or mopped there, (unless I do it manually, and I DO, it’s the o.c.d. in me) my room is so small I can’t slide my bed far enough away in either direction to get those spots with the machine. I think they should make it to where it stays on the floor when you go under anything, and also it should be thinner to fit under anything. It will give the signal by getting really loud saying it’s full when it’s not if anything gets at the top of the floater sensor like dirt or hair. It will also do this if you lean it back too far. But I repeat but don’t let this keep you from buying this machine because with seven kids between me and my husband and three adults life gets messy and I don’t have any carpet in my house it’s all hardwood and tile. This machine saves my sanity some days. You don’t feel anything on the floor when you walk barefoot after you’ve done the floors with the machine, like you do when you sweep and mop I don’t care how many times I sweep and mop manually I will always find more and feel more dirt. So this machine is awesome, it has a long cord so I don’t have to move the cord every single time I go 10 feet, Which sometimes when I’m in a hurry the cord can get in my way or get tangled up but if you know that in advance it’s not a problem. I do think this machine is worth the money. I would not go with the cordless because it only last 30 minutes off the charger, and after a while those cordless items stop charging or holding a charge.I can get past little issues that irk me about this machine due to the fact it does such a wonderful job!candace

This Kenmore vacuum is a piece of Junk. I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. We had a Kenmore vacuum that was awesome for 20 years before it finally died. We thought we could buy the Kenmore BC4026 as a replacement. Wrong. The vacuum has been redesigned with none of the utility of our previous vacuum. The BC4026 is bulky and heavy making it difficult to get in tight to reach places. The end of the wand has a huge locking mechanism for attachments, which makes it impossible to vacuum along baseboards. I used our old Kenmore to vacuum the car interior, but the BC4026's handle is huge which makes it cumbersome to reach tight car interior spaces. Also, the hose swivel that attaches to the vacuum is not the L-shaped fitting shown on the box, so it does not swivel and keep a low profile like it should. This make maneuvering and storage of the vacuum difficult. They have plastic fittings on the BC4026's telescoping wand that make it difficult to extend. The old design was much better. Our old Kenmore vacuum was smaller and more streamlined with the same vacuum power making it more functional and a better design than the BC4026. Bottom line is that the BC4026 was not designed for its intended purpose of being a household vacuum.Michael

Overall this is a decent canister vacuum but the motorized vacuum head is of an ackward design. In order to vacuum more than a foot under furniture, you have to get down on your knees and move the motorized head in arcs left and right; the joint at which it attaches to the control handle prevents it from moving straight ahead without tilting up so that the agitator and suction end no longer makes contact with the carpet. If you move it to the left, the head may detach due to a poorly designed release lever on the left side; designed to make it easy to remove with your foot but making vacuuming under a bed a long and difficult process to get full coverage. I found myself having to reach repeatedly under the bed to retrieve the disconnected head. I was able to modify that release lever slightly by tightening the screw that attaches it but it is still an arduous task to vacuum under a bed; which was the main reason we bought a canister vacuum! You have to sweep in arcs and make sure you get coverage. This would be difficult for someone who has trouble laying down on their knees, pitching themselves forward and moving the wand back and forth in arcs. On the plus side, the "pet" motorized head is great for vacuuming carpeted stairs; no pet required to make good use of it.Jeffrey

I bought this Oreck XL Commercial floor sweeper as a brand-new backup unit for an existing Oreck Xl home vac that I bought back in the 1990's. The original one still works just fine and the only maintenance it has ever required, other than bag changes, was a single drive belt replacement. The Oreck XL is a workhorse floor/carpet sweeper! And, the best part is that I recently got this brand-new one for $200, which is less than half of the price I paid for my original Oreck XL, back in the 1990's. 5/15/19 I did a lot of research before I chose to get one of these. I found out that the motor is only a 4 amp motor and I wondered if that was going to be powerful enough to do a good job. (I knew the motor was very long lasting.). I figured that because the discharge bag downstream of the motor was so much larger then comprable vacuums, that there would not be much back pressure on the motor and so by design, you probably don't need such a powerful motor. I also figured, that if you design a vacuum cleaner right, why would you need a 10 11 12 amp motor? I like the fact that it had a good quality cord that you didn't have to bend over to wrap the cord up it had a big bag so you didn't have to constantly buy bags did it was durable, because it is what janitors use and hotels across the country. I also know that my carpet was not a shag carpet it was a lower carpet and it was a hardwood floor. So I figured I would buy it from Walmart and try it and if I don't like it I can get my money back. WOW!!! I am so impressed with this machine! It picks up like you would not believe everything and I love the fact that you don't need a motor that is so powerful it belongs on a saw to cut wood. I love not having all these gadget cheap accessories that falling off all the time. I love being able to get underneath stuff. I love the lightweight. I love the switch on the handle in case I suck up a sock or shoelace. so that I can shut the motor off before I burn up a belt. I love the fact there's a spare belt underneath. I love the heavy-duty cushioning around the motor housing. And I really like the way the brushes are set up the beater bars very well-designed very simple very rugged very durable. (I believe in keep it simple KISS.)! So what if it's a tad noisy. And the negative review the guy posted about not being able to get us handle tight……well…… Some people are just not the least bit mechanically inclined. I like it better than my Bissell, KenmoreJay

Our Princess vacuum just died. We have always had problems finding bags for it anyway… We received a used Oreck as a gift many years ago and it still runs and cleans super. We still wanted a second vacuum on the top level. Well, that was a no brainer. The Oreck is very lite and easy to maneuver. Best vacuum cleaning we have ever seen.Brian

This did not work after a couple days. It was just spitting the dirt back out into the floor in a different spot. It does not work like the old moosoo. My old moosoo still works great, but I needed to because the battery life wasn’t so great on the old one but this new one did have a good battery or a slightly better one. Other than that this one is nowhere near as good as the one I bought last year I was very disappointed in this, it’s nice that swivels around, but it still doesn’t pick up like the old one and the light on it is very dim when compared to last year’s mooso vaccum it was the white one this vacuum seemed sturdier, but it just doesn’t work. I’m returning this I have to have something that works. I absolutely hate returning things to the store but in this case I have too because I definitely need something that I can depend on. This is just waste my time and then I have to wait on a refund so I can get another one of a different type.Cheryl

I purchased this cordless stick vacuum online through Walmart.com this past Christmas. I was my first experience with a cordless vacuum of my own. That being stated. I love this vacuum. It gets the job done using two different power settings depending on the amount of dirt you are picking up. It is very versatile and light to carry. It's ability to seperate into a smaller handheld vacuum is very convenient in small tight spaces. I like that it has all the desirable features that one would look for on a stick. First its cordless (the battery charges superfast) and can be charged connected to the vacuum for easy access, or seperated and charged on say.. a desk or counter top. I like that it does have a ball joint and pivots seamlessly in any direction you steer it into (makes getting into those tight corners easy). It also has a very bright L.E.D. panel on the front of the roller brush attachment (for floors). It has a good amount of battery life. I believe its 45 minutes? Though I can't remember the last time I vacuumed for 45 minutes straight. It always gets the job done without dying on me. It also comes with a wall mount hook you can install wherever you prefer to store your cleaning supplies. This comes in really handy as my roommate had an alternative branded vacuum that didn't have this and was always falling over (stick vacuums are typically top heavy). I would recommend purchasing the upgraded version of this vacuum that comes with additional hardware if you are a person who enjoys vacuuming (as I do). It does come in handle when you wanna vacuum additional places such as your vehicle upholstery or furniture. My overall consensus is that while its definitely not as powerful as a $700 stick vacuum. I have no complaints and have enjoyed using it. It is a good choice for someone looking to purchase a hearty stick vacuum at a modest price.RememberwhoUare86

I had such high hopes for this vacuum based on the reviews. I was extremely disappointed. Though it's light weight, easy to use and picks up A LOT of dirt.. that's about all it will pick up. I have toddlers who find it humorous to smash crackers into the floors (carpet and hardwood). this vacuum picks up the finer pieces, but the tails of a goldfish for example and swept into the roller, and spun all the way to the left, missing the suction tube, and spit back out when the vacuum is pulled back for another pass. This was my experience on carpet and on tile. The roller doesn't seem long enough (bristles) or it spins too fast, but it can't even pick up when is in the shallow grout line. I have to clean the mesh piece and filter after every use too. I will say I loved the weight of this, the battery life was fairly decent for what it is, and the ease of being able to switch lengths was great.Brooke
