It’s a solid enough bike at a reasonable cost but does have a couple drawbacks. The breaks are pretty stiff and require a lot of hand force/strength and my 6 year old has so far struggled with getting stopped in short distances. I’m keeping my eyes on him and his ability to ride safely. The chain had a bad/stiff link which caused the bike to skip a link on every revolution of the chain. I was able to use vise grips, a screw driver, a hammer and silicone spray to get the link loosened up to run smoothly but it took a decent amount of time to diagnose the issue and fix it. I had to use an impact driver to get the handlebars tight enough, the supplied tools simply weren’t enough leverage.BRMD
I bought this bike for my daughter who had outgrown her kids bike. She is a small 12 year old and can fit nicely on the lowest settings of this bike. The directions were surprisingly easy to follow and we had the bike together rather quickly (less than an hour). Overall, great bike!
Bought for my sons birthday and the bars that hold the front tire were squeezed together. My husband had to pry them apart. The handle bar keeps spinning, no matter how tight we screw the screw in. He got the back at the beginning of this month and can’t ride it because the tires feel like he is holding the brakes, yet we have the brakes not even attached trying to make this work. Very unhappy with the purchase.

Purchased this bike today, and it was definitely not worth the $100. It is cheaply made and makes all sorts of noises. The chain rubs against a metal part and makes a noise while using, and everytime i hit the breaks it makes an embarassing loud noise, as if the bike is old and rusty. After using it for about 15 mins, the tire started to rub against the breaks and make another loud sound that is hard to ignore and the seat is also so uncomfortble. All in all, I have nothing nice to say about this bike, which is dissapointing because I was really looking forward to bike riding with all of this covid-19 chaos. It was the only bike availbale in store to purchase, and decided i’d give it a shot, but unfortunately it did not work out. You get what you pay for.Leslee
Only 4 stars due to the fact that the seat that comes with it is VERY uncomfortable. I changed the seat after the first ride I took and it feels better now. I had the bike professionally assembled so I can't speak to the instructions. Otherwise, I like the bike. I'm 5'3" and it fits me just fine. As an 84 year old man who needs to exercise daily, I purchased this women's bike (easier to mount) to ride around my neighborhood. (I normally play racquetball daily at KSU's recreation center – now closed indefinitely for COVID-19 fears). The bicycle was delivered promptly to my residence. It is heavier than I prefer but is in excellent condition and assembled easily (you need to remove one of the front wheel caliper brake pads to install the front wheel). The original seat is narrow and too firm for my comfort, so I ordered a wider seat which I now have installed and checking on its' acceptability. I am very pleased with the quality build and aesthetics of the bike. It should give me, whatever years I have remaining, enjoyable bike riding and the fresh air and exercise I need.cms1936

My kiddo and I came across this bike in store. I have been eyballing it for the last year or so. It was marked down to $84 so I grabbed it. It was the last one they had. Got to the register and it rang up for $40! Heck yeah! This is my kiddos first bike with gears. He could size up to a 26" but i want him to have something he can handle to learn how to use a bike with hand brakes and gears first. He is 11 years old. About 4'10. He really likes it. The gears are easy for him to learn on. Braking is smooth. His only complaint is that the seat is too hard and uncomfortable. Thats an easy fix. The seat adjusts easily. No tools needed for that. We bought this as a first bike with gears for our 10 year old. Several other 24 inch bikes were too tall for him, but this one, because the frame slopes down, allows for a lower ride height than most other bikes this size. The tires are a little fatter so it works great for riding off-road, but they aren't the super fat style which might make it hard to ride on normal streets and sidewalks. We did have to teach him how to use the gears, but they are very forgiving and work very well. We got it shipped to us and the gears worked great right out of the box with no adjustments at all. The disc brakes are also really nice. This bike looks great and feels built really well. I have a Huffy cruiser and I think my kid's bike is nicer than mine now.Ryan
This is an awesome bike and doesnt look or feel like a Walmart bike whatsoever. Assembling it wasnt too bad, besides some brake rubbing that I had to fix. The suspension feels nice but while the bike is a little heavy at 40 pounds, it has very solid tires which are nice. Thats where the fantastic parts end, and I will be returning this bike. Im 5 ft 6 and although the specs say it should fit me, I had to put the seat as high as it would go in order to ride comfortably. Then I have to bend over far to the bars and this is why Im returning it. The 15 inch frame size is just too small and anyone over 5 ft 6 will not have fun. Also, the brakes were very bad, as it slows you a little bit but could not stop the bike whatsoever.Leah

Great looking bike. Easy to assemble. Instruction manual in the box did not apply to the bike in question, however once we came to this realization, the rest was easy enough to figure out. Seat height is very easy to adjust (nice feature). Stand included. Hand breaks are a little difficult to reach for our seven year old, however it may just take some practice. Bike pre-set was in 6th gear, so make sure to change before having your child ride for the first time (otherwise difficult to start pedaling). Bike does not have predrilled holes to accommodate a water bottle holder (a bit disappointed in this, but perhaps this is standard for a 20"). Overall very happy.First time purchaser

I just bought this bike last week and it's the best bike I have ever owned. It's amazing. I bought a LARGE frame, I'm 5'9-5'10 (depending the sneakers I'm wearing 😉 BUT THE ONE THING I HATE ABOUT THIS BIKE IS THE SEAT! I don't understand why would Cabela's include a seat a normal person cannot ride for more than half hour. I see many complaints on online about different bikes with the same style seats and I see thousands of people purchasing different seats for it. It's a waste. I just don't understand why they keep including these kind of seats. Cabela's can do better in the seat department. I had to buy a new seat online. I rode the bike for about half hour sitting down and half hour standing up. Today I cannot sit on the bike again because I am super sore. Not my legs, but my bum and crotch. It is painful to sit on on that seat the next day. It's unrealistic. But concerning the bike, yes, is an good purchase. I would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the SEAT! It's a shame because is a really nice bike and the seat just takes some of its glory away. The bike is nice and light, about 36 lb. It feels like nothing when you carry it. The color scheme is fantastic. The largest really tall too. For those who like to ride sitting High. This bike is perfect! Now, it doesn't have a stand. So you have to rest it against a wall or tree if you don't want to lay it down. Concerning the store, I love the store!! I travel from one state to another and have to pay toll just to get to Cabela's. But it's well worth it. If you haven't been there, I suggest you visit the store at least once in your lifetime. I bought the Men and Women's bike from BJ's. I just started riding a bike after 30 years of not riding one and this one is basically an intermediate bike to me. (probably would be to others as well) I had to replace the tubbing in my wife back tire after she rode the bike 200 feet or less from the house and there were no nails on the street and I couldn't find any type of indication of why the tire went flat. (tubbing must've been old or dry rotted-idk) Changing the gears on my bike is pretty easy, but since I did that, I still haven't been able to get my bike to stop making noises while I'm riding it. (chain noises) The only reason why I didn't return the bikes to BJ's is because it's too much of a hassle and the price was economical.JB
Poorly made bike that had many problems from the time we unboxed it. Would not go into multiple gears initially. The tension was so far off that it basically had to be refine from scratch. After 3 hours of work and additional adjustments, the bike worked. Our 9 year old was ecstatic. After each ride around our neighborhood on roads/sidewalks, something would need tweaking. Then, after 6 days of light use, he was riding down the street and fell over on the bike. He was unharmed. We asked what happened and he said, "It felt like the bike just collapsed when I pushed down on the pedal." The back brake was grinding badly. My husband started resetting those when my son noticed that the wheel looked "wobbly;" my husband looked at the wheel and noticed it was significantly bent. That explained why the brakes were not working! Not sure if the wheel was bent and just got worse as he rode it or if it was compromised and just snapped, but it was not normal. We returned the bike to the store and received our money back.HoosierMama5

As seen in the picture with the bolt and the brakes in my hand, the bolts are made of steel and the piece to screw them in, is made of aluminum (bad combination for the aluminum thread). The piece comes with the bolts already inside and very tight (not a good start). I unscrewed them carefully, and I noticed that the bolts had this blue paste in the thread used to tighten the bolts(not good). As a result of that, the aluminum thread wears out, obviously because it is a soft metal. When I tried to screw the steel bolt back, the aluminum thread was already worn out. It was a big disappointment. I don't think is fair to try to repair that with my own money, so I will return the bike to the closer Walmart. Any manufacturer should know that a steel bolt in an aluminum thread is not going to last long, and in this case, it compromises the functioning of the front brakes. My suggestion to the manufacturer: Make that little piece of a hard metal like steel or from any hard metal that can hold a steel bolt which is going to hold in place the front brakes. It is a safety issue. The rest of the bike is ok but my 1 star is because of the disappointment and the hassle to return the bike.ADRIAN
I spent 3 hours trying to set this bike up before I realized it was damaged beyond my ability to repair. The front tire was bent enough that the front brake would not work properly. Several bearings and bolts were frozen and locked and would not move. It was missing washers for the wheels. I had to rethread bolts on the front brake. Once I did get it set up the chain was slipping and the components were so out of line and uneven none of my adjustments would fix it. I ended up returning this item, tried to get a replacement but it was out of stock so a refund is pending. I ordered this same bike in womens 24 inch and had no problems with it. For some reason this bike had enough issues to make it un-ridable.Melissa
I have no issue with the purchasing process, it went smooth, and delivery was quick. I am disappointed in the quality of the bike. The tube on the back tire had a defect and blew apart as soon as the appropriate amount of air was put in. No one was even near the bike when the tube blew. It also blew apart the tire. We had to replace the tube and back tire, only to discover that the rim appears to be bent. Not much we can do about that. After the back tire issue was more or less resolved, the first ride occurred. This resulted in the chain jumping off the sprocket due to an adjustment needed to the derailer. Other than a few lapse around the driveway, there have not been additional opportunities to ride the bike, so who knows what issue will occur next. We bought two of these. Men's and Women's. The woman's bike assembled OK, but a lot of adjustment was needed and the shift only has about 50% usable distance. The men's bike was missing a screw on the front brake adjustment and the front derailleur was bent. I tried to fix as I did not want to bring this back, but then found out that the gear change on the left handlebar only had less than 50% movement as well. To see what was up, I completely loosened the cable to increase the movement, but no dice. The fault was inside teh shifter. Back to the store for a refund.Sharon
Was preassembled when purchased. Went through all the nuts and bolts to ensure tightness before riding. Although preassembled, I had to align the seat and handle bars. No big deal. It was pretty light considering the price. I’m 65” and bike felt comfortable. I didn’t like the seat and got a wider one nothing against current seat just my preference. Bike handles well. One word of caution- the front tires did come close to my feet when turning. It didn’t touch but just something to be aware of. U did purchase quick disconnects for the tires. Bought this bike 1 month ago and already had to have it worked on. The shifters, main derailluer are the worst! (I have another Huffy bought around the same time with the exact same problem!!) They are very cheap making it nearly impossible for my 13 year old to change gears, even when the bike is being ridden. The repair person informed me that Huffy is known for the low quality parts and that replacing them all might solve the problem. He recommended buying Shimano parts to replace the original cheap parts so that my child might get some real use out of it. This is supposed to be a new bike, yet it has a lot of internal rust like it was left outside in the rain before it was brought inside to be sold. Lesson learned, I will never buy another Huffy bike nor any other bike from Walmart!!Angela

I have been riding this bike for approximately 2 months and I don't really see the limit of it. I mean I sent pretty much every drop and jump I could find and the only thing that gave up on me was the wheels… This bike is an absolute beast for the price tags. The only thing that limits the hardtail is probably your skills. Yes it's not perfect. I think a 140mm at front would have been better (easy to change the air shaft to 140) yes stronger wheels would have been better instead of 29 33inner mm would have been much stronger and yes a better pads for the rear brakes would have been much much better no idea why but if it's wet I'm losing 85% of my rear brakes. But let's be honest all those upgrade will cost you almost nothing… O I forget if you don't want to ride at 30psi and want something more grippy buy some cushcore. The bike is so capable that you may feel like you are on a full suspension and then your wheels going to hate you so cushcore may help to ride your tyres a bit softer and then have a bit more grip to it! If you question yourself should you buy a SQ3? The answer is absolutely yes.Pierre
Out of the box this bike rips! It truly does do it all. It’s agile and corners like it’s on rails. It’s very flickable and fun on the jump lines. My only complaint is the seat tube is not as slack as I would like riding the long fire roads back up my local trails. But with that said this bike is geared towards going down in the funnest way possible and not XC climbs. I am 5’8” with short legs and a long torso. I am glad I went with the M size frame. The large would have given me a better climbing bike with the longer top tube but I would have sacrificed on the fun stuff with the taller seat tube. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and the support the GovVelo gives to veterans is awesome. Buy one if you can find one!Steven

I purchased the bike for my nearly 14 year old grandson who is approx 5'7", probably a bit more. It's an absolute perfect fit. It was becoming difficult to find both the right size and look in the store. So we sized him in a store and decided to purchase directly from Huffy bc of the reputation of quality and service. That Tekton blue (not sure I have the correct color name) is "awesome" says the teen. I think it's gorgeous. His mom and dad assembled it with out much difficulty and has since left them feeling like empty-nesters because he's been all over God's green Earth each day. Great bike. Only three minor complaints. Seat is very uncomfortable, brakes are difficult to adjust, and front derailleur hits chain in certain gears, making a clicking sound while you’re riding. I read the directions on the brakes and was doing it correctly I think but they just move around regardless of what screws you tighten, making contact with the wheel uneven and inconsistent.Joec

It seems road worthy, shifting is ok at this stage, as the bike shop that put it together, and tweaked the gears, has 2 of the 3 high range gears are great that work with with the lower 7.
