20 Best Headphones For Home Theater (Jan 2023 Update)

I needed headphones for my 95 year old father-in-law who is hard of hearing. Watching tv as a family was painful. He needed the tv full blast to hear anything. Found these radio frequency wireless headphones that allow two separate audio streams. My tv settings allowed this but only with the tv speakers. Found an audio splitter after some research. It works with my 5.1 soundbar set up! Put this splitter between my ATV and TV. HDMI to TV and optical to RF receiver. Bingo! Father-in-law can watch what we are watching with his own audio level. And the family can listen at a normal level. The sound is great and range is great. Does not lose the signal or drop out as others have mentioned. I highly recommend these if you’re trying to get two audio streams.rudedog6868

I returned two pair of the Sony WHRF400 RF Wireless Headphones because they sounded like blown speakers. The second pair even had tons of static, and it was just across the bedroom from the output. I returned the second pair to the store and asked the person on the floor for help. I was going to go with the other Sony's that were twice the cost because of the "digital" output of these. The salesperson said that the 'static/blown' experience I had with the Sony pair was probably the analog connection. So I got these thinking I would be able to hook them up digitally. However, our sound bar is hooked up digitally and hooking up the headphones that way would have made it where I was the only one who could watch TV with sound. The sales person was so wrong. I hooked these up to the analog output, just like I was hooking up the Sony set and I cannot even express to you the improvement in sound quality these offer compared to Sony. I was seriously impressed. The only thing that I don't like with these is the buttons. They're difficult to turn on (you have to hold it down for a few seconds before it comes on) and you have to KNOW the layout of the volume buttons to turn them up or down. I do like that they have Bass adjustments, though, even if I have to take them off or go to the stand to figure it all out. The only other thing I don't like is that they're super tight. I suspect (hope) they'll loosen up over time because I really enjoy the quality of the surround sound that they offer.Dynamaniac

Excellent sound, relatively comfortable, and easy to pair with an additional headset so that two people can listen. The only con, and it's one that, based on my research, is a problem with this unit, is the occasional sound dropouts. They are brief and random, but they happen often enough to be annoying. I purchased a higher-quality audio cable, and I'm going to try and move the receiver/transmitter away from my wireless router to see if that makes a difference. I am puzzled by this problem because the lower-quality wireless headset combo I had previously never had these dropouts. I expected more from a higher-priced, higher-quality unit.rmiller1959

After spending some time (and a lot of money) in this hobby, i have currently settled on the HD650 and Audeze LCD-X open-back headphones. While HD-650 doesn't have the bass reproduction (one note-ish), speed, clarity, or sound-stage of the LCD-X, what it does right even the LCD-X or Sennheiser HD-800s can't match. And that is a neutral tuning with very good timbre – basically a headphone that sounds "right/natural" (in-spite of it's limitations). It pairs well with the budget IFI Zen DAC (Single ended, truebass and powermatch disabled) and scales up to a high end Violectric V590 AMP. From what i have read they sound even better with high-end tube amps. This is a classic worth owning. (Note: every once in a while these go for sale at half price.)GR

The variety of options to choose from is overwhelming for the headphone shopper. I have been listening to open-back design headphones for several years, I’ve tried many different models with selected reference tracks with the goal of finding an upgrade to my current headphones that I use for both music listening and sound editing. Ideally I want something that is reasonably accurate with a smooth frequency response, but comfort and affordability are also factors that come into the equation of what’s the best headphone for my application. Enter the Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. After four months of listening to these I can say they are smoother and warmer than other open-back headphones without any exaggeration of the high end and the bass is tight without any boominess. Musically they are like equisitely smooth silk. It’s no surprise that these headphones have been in the Sennheiser high-end line up for a very long time. I enjoy listening to music on these far more than I do compared to the Sony MDR-7506 headphones that live in my sound recording kit or the Audio-Technica TH-M50xBT headphones that live in my backpack for listening to music on my commute or while traveling. You will find many headphones that cost more, and you'll find many headphones that cost less. The Sennheiser HD 650 headphones are in a sweet spot of balance between audio performance and value for the money. Spend more and you hit the realm of diminishing returns targeted at audiophile fools who part easily with their hard earned money. Spend less and you’re not quite in the realm of their smooth, accurate, warm sound, but there are many worthy contenders, but you don’t have to spend this much on headphones if you’re happier with high-end sparkle and/or Beatsesque bass. The only downside? Some portable devices may not drive them as loud as you might like given their 300-ohm impedance, so a headphone amp might be needed, however, I found that my MacBook Pro and iPad did fine with them. I even compared direct output from the MacBook and iPad to a headphone amp, and quality-wise there was no difference, though the headphone amp did allow for higher-volume playback.David

Sound quality is top notch, after testing loads of other headphones between 100 to 1000 euro price range these stand out from the rest to me. No real weaknesses, the sound is little bit warm and dark, but not overly so. The slightly elevated mid bass gives the sound more body, while the dark treble makes sure they never get fatiguing to listen to, never harsh. While the treble is tuned down, its still very detailed. You'll just notice in a busy mix treble tends to take back seat as mids and mid bass rule the show. Sub bass doesn't really exist on these, but its the case with open headphones in general. Overall, its a balanced and natural sound that's very nice and easy to listen to. The detail is there, but it isn't overwhelming or 'fake' like with many Beyerdynamics that emphasize treble too much. Vocals sound exceedingly good on these. Wearing comfort is otherwise great, but they may have bit too much clamping force. They're very light and if looks are important to you, you won't need to feel embarrassed wearing these on video calls or web conferences, unlike many other audiophile headphones that can look awkward. As for build quality, its excellent as well. While mostly plastic, this makes it very light. And this plastic is very high quality. I used to obsess on getting headphones with mostly metal build for best durability, but I've learned that it comes with a lot of drawbacks, mainly the weight. Not to mention a lot of headphones that are mostly metal build still have some plastic weakspots that break down over time due to bad design. These seem like they are built to last and will outlast most other headphones in terms of wear and tear. They have also removable cable and all the parts are also replaceable. All in all recommend to anyone whose looking for a well balanced headphone. Surely, sound won't get much better from here no matter how much more money you spend. UPDATE: I'm now into month three of using these and yesterday, I had a problem. For no apparent reason, after turning the headphones on I got the "Welcome to Alantree" notice, but not the "Connected" message and therefore no sound. After trying it a couple of times (turning them off and on) I still got nothing… So, off to a Google search for "Troubleshoot Alantree headphones". Sure enough, I found a trouble shooting guide which was badly translated from I guess, Chinese. After reading the instructions a few times I finally understood what it was saying. For those of you who run into the same problem, here is what to do: 1. Disconnect the power from the transmitter at your television. 2. Depress and hold both the – and + (volume down and up) buttons on the headphones for about ten seconds or until the little LED power indicator turns pink. This drops the previous Bluetooth pairing, which is at the root of the problem. 3. Reconnect the power to the transmitter at the television. 4. Turn on your headphones and it will welcome you, then reset the Bluetooth pairing and you' get the "Connected" message. At this point, you are reconnected and ready to go! Love my headphones!Excellent product! Easy to use, everything you need is in the box and now I can hear the words that are spoken on my television. As a combat veteran with a hearing loss from sustained gun and artillery fire, I am unable to clearly hear the words spoken on TV programs, streaming movies etc. These Bluetooth headphones make it possible for me to hear everything clearly. Original review: Simply plug the transmitter into the television (cords and USB charging cable come with it), put the headphones on, turn the television on, then turn the headphones on and that is it! There are three ways to hook up the transmitter to your TV, and any of the three would have worked on my TV (a three-year-old regular – not "smart" – 20" Samsung). Nothing in the instructions indicated which choice would give the best sound so I first chose the easiest way and hooked up the "Audio Cable" to the "AUX Audio Out Headset" connector on my TV and the other end to the transmitter. After experimenting with that for a couple of nights I then disconnected the Audio Cable (make sure you do this if, like me, you began by connecting it) and connected the "Optical Audio Cable" to the "Optical Out" connector on my TV, and then connected the other end to the transmitter. (The "Optical Audio" connection is a bit more complicated because after the cable is connected you have to go to your TV's menu and make sure "External Speakers" and "PCM Audio Format" is chosen before it will work.) Both connections gave excellent sound (I personally couldn't tell the difference), and both connections muted the external sound on my particular TV when the "ON/OFF" switch on the transmitter was turned ON. The only difficulty I had was finding the USB port on my TV. It turned out to be on the side of the TV, not the back. The USB cable has to be connected to both your TV and the transmitter so the transmitter will have power. The headphones use a rechargeable battery for power, and they were already charged up when I took them out of the box. What the instructions didn't mention was how to turn the headphones on and off. There's a silver button on the left ear-pad (there's an "L" and "R" inscribed faintly on the adjustment piece above each ear-pad), and you have to press and "hold down" the button until a voice tells you the earphones are connected. You turn off the earphones the same way until a voice says "good-bye". Overall I thought the instructions could have been clearer especially as they pertained to the earphones, but they were clear enough. Once I understood the instructions (I'm a bit slow when it comes to instructions) setting up the transmitter and earphones was quite easy. The earphones are very comfortable, easy to adjust, and provide excellent sound that doesn't bleed beyond the earphones. (There's a "+" and "-" button on ether side of the earphone's silver ON/OFF button to adjust the volume.) Overall this unit is well designed and I'm very happy with it.Concerned A.

Awesome for broadcast TV Open package, inspect contents, read how to install, and install took less than 5 minutes. Head phones connected to transmitter immediately. I purchased these for use with viewing TV. I am a little hard of hearing according to her. I need the volume higher for some programs, news programs are fine as journalists are evidently taught to speak clear and not mumble but movie actors must have been taught differently. I have a Ultra High Def smart TV and the speakers like most now days on in the back of the TV, not so good. I purchased a sound bar thinking that would solve the problem but it did not. The sound bar was much better but still not the best as I still need the volume a little louder then she did. In addition to the TV and sound bar I have a *** Contour DVR, I hooked the transmitter to the DVR via the USB port on the DVR like instructions said, turned on the headphones and they paired according to the solid blue light and welcome message as instructions said. I then connected the transmitter to the DVR using the Optical Audio Out on the DVR and done. These headphones are almost perfect. There are a few things I don't like. 1) If she makes a comment about what we are watching I can hear that she said something but don't know what and have to take the headphones off to converse. 2) The headphones are a little warm after wearing awhile. 3) When using the smart tv option to watch Amazon Prime or Netflix it does not go thru the DVR so there is no sound going to the headphones and hooking the headphones to the tv or sound bar turns off the volume to the speakers and supply volume only to the headphones. When watching these sources I can not use the headphones.R. J.

I wanted to write a review comparing these to the Sony WH-1000xm4 headphones, which I bought a few months ago and ended up returning. For my uses, these are much better headphones. These have excellent sound quality with a studio monitor – style flatter response, with much better high and mid-level sound quality than the sony's. This was my first priority and I found them head and shoulders better than the sony cans, which were subpar and all around tinny sounding. I think sony probably used cheaper drivers. The sound just seemed dull, with lots of lost details, where the Shure headphones have more detailed, richer sound. The Sony phones have better ANC hands down, but I found these more than adequate for a 10 hour flight from honolulu to charlotte with screaming kids in the next row. The screaming was reduced to a tolerable murmur. I liked the "environment mode", which turns up the ambient sound slightly in one ear so you can have a conversation (for instance getting a drink from the flight attendant without taking off the headphones). The Sony have a touch response where you rub your finger on the right headphone and it changes the volume, skips, etc. There are lots of annoying beeps and the swiping works about two out of three times. The Shure have tactile buttons for all of your adjustments, volume, ANC level, play/pause, etc and the volume adjustments are silent, with no beeps. I found that this worked a lot better for me. The Shure headphones lose points for the HUGE travel case – the Sony's folded up much smaller. Also instead of having a standard 1/8 jack they have some weird proprietary jack. I hate that kind of thing. At least the charging is USB-C (and you can apparently listen through the USB-C port, although I haven't tried this out) The other bizarre thing about these headphones is the app. The equalizer would not work with the spotify streaming codec so I had to download a different equalizer app. I thought this was really annoying and found that the sony app worked much better. Both the shure and sony headphones have good build quality. These are a bit heavier and mostly aluminum which makes me feel like they might withstand more abuse, but really if you are spending this much on headphones you shouldn't be abusing them. The sony travel case, as I mentioned, is a much better size. Long story short, if you really need to drown out ambient sound, like 100% of the time, and aren't picky about your music get the Sony WH-1000's. They block everything. If you want a pair of fantastic bluetooth headphones with a few quirks but no dealbreakers, good ANC, and a superior build quality I would opt for these Shure Aonic headphones. I would hope that the next generation would fold up better and get rid of the proprietary audio port.benp

I purchased these a few months ago. I use them for a few hours every night. Generally, I'm a Classic Rock listener. I've been an Audiophile since I was young. My family was in that business. The last time I had a pair of headphones I thoroughly enjoyed as much as my current Aonic 50's was decades ago when I owned a pair of Koss Pro 4/AA's. If you know them, you know I'm dating myself. I had a Shure phono cartridge that was always my favorite. So, I always had an affinity for Shure. I have to say that I read many reviews by alleged audiophiles before I bought these and a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 3's. I discounted any review that raved about the Sony's. Sorry Sony, but you don't really build audiophile quality product. The Sennheiser's are OK. If I had never listened to the Shure's I might even buy the Sennheiser's again. But the Shure Aonic 50's – absolutely awesome!!! In my opinion, the Shure's are seriously under-rated. Or, perhaps the reviewers prefer the consumer electronics brands. When I listen to the Aonic 50's the Soundstage is fabulous!! It occurs to me that Shure has been creating audiophile quality soundstage (for musicians) for it's entire existence. So, it simply stands to reason that they only know how to build audiophile quality equipment with superior soundstage. Other's try to achieve soundstage. Shure would need to figure out how to remove it – but thankfully they haven't. One would need to spend two to three times the price of the Shure Aonic 50's to get better soundstage, imaging, reproduction, compression, separation, etc… The Aonic 50's are well built. They have awesome battery life. Connectivity is excellent. The app is terrific and the equalizer is extremely functional (especially when compared to what others offer). I would only add that the longer I use these for, the more they burn in, and the sweeter they sound. Another hallmark of audiophile quality equipment. I'd buy them again!!Mike V

I purchased these just under a year ago. Within the first 6 month period the ear cup leather started to come off. I do not do anything out of the ordinary, literally sit at my desk with them on. I would expect some issues if I were using these while exercising or similar. I was able to find a replacement cup that ran me about $60 from Dekoni and thought my issues were over…… Then the headband leather started separating and middle top portion of the headband started creasing and broke in the center. Again, I do nothing but sit at my desk with these things on. The only issue now is, I am not able to find an aftermarket replacement for this specific part. With that, is loss of clamping power and loose unwell sealed headphones. I would opt into sending them in under warranty, but why replace a subpar part with the same subpar part?… I expected better build quality from the shure lineup as I own multiple other products and have had 0 issues. These, however, I wish I had chosen another set of headphones. If shure upgrades the build quality on these and they have years of market testing, I MAY purchase another pair.Justin M.

Finally I enjoyed music how I wanted. Using Flat EQ settings. If highly professional sound engineers mastered the sound of for example Pink Floyd album, Why you need to listen it with some bass boosted or treble boosted headphones? They are already fine tuned it for you. Just take the flat monitor headphones and enjoy. Do not forget to use FLAC files and proper sound source. Don't use it with phone with 128kb mp3 and say that it is not sound good. And please note that headphone has a long 3 metres cable so it would be great if used indoors only. Fully satisfied. Value for money. Some of the Bands I've been listening on these headphones : Pink Floyd, Guns & Roses, Nirvana. They sound flawless. <3Silver S.

But to the point: After quite a long time I have to say that I have gotten used to the proximity of the buttons and while I still think that Audio-Technica should consider re-enginerring them, I don't think now that they are as onerous as I felt during my first review. I have upped my rating to 5 stars: I am even more sold on the quality and sound of these headphones and one extra plus! I discovered that it is quite easy to pair them with the TV and with my iPhone at the same time. Very useful feature.William

As a person to whom specs are of little help, I needed headphones for listening to music and my playlists (which a mostly classical) on my pc. I already am happy with my Sennheiser phones for optimum listening, so I was looking for some less critical (and frankly) and cheaper phones. I was surprised by the powerful bass. Music and videos I listen to on YouTube sound great, and my own CDs sound good enough (I attribute that to the player). So this is a real bargain without too much of a compromise.Andrew

This is my first headphone of audiophile grade. Before buying ATH-M50X I got all the relevant details from HeadphoneZone gurus. I would suggest that every headphone buyer should first talk to HeadphoneZone guru before making any purchase. Based on your taste of music genre and listening habits they would suggest right headphones. I had confusion between ATH-M50x and DT 770 Pro. It's been more than a month with these cans and I am loving it. In online reviews you might see people suggesting that these can be used without DAC/AMP but that's not true. If you want to unleash the true sound I would really recommend to get a dedicated DAC/AMP. I am using ATH-M50x with iBasso DC03 (also bought from HeadphoneZone) and could really understand the difference and what these cans are capable of. I am using the following combination: Dolby Atmos Music Mode(OnePlus 7T Pro) + EQ tweaking(10 band EQ with 7T Pro) + Audio Technica ATH-M50x + iBasso DC03 + Gaana (Plus/Premium Subscription) and now each of the songs are sounding way more beautiful. I guess since DC03 has dual DAC and that might be the reaon it's so powerful and it doesn't eat up much battery as well. Words can't justify this listening experience but still Ihave tried my level best. Totally recommended 👍🤘 A big thumbs up to headphone zone for suggesting this purchase. Love you guys ❤Shibin D.

I purchased these headphones about three weeks ago and I really enjoy them. The quality and construction is fantastic. Having different length cables that disconnect directly from the headphones allows me to quickly jump from my DAWs to other devices with ease. I primarily use them for the follow: 1) Keyboard (Yamaha P-45) 2) Recording my own music through a Focusrite (singing, guitar, and violin) 3) Create my own digital soundscapes in a variety of prosumer DAWs on my laptop 4) Listening to music on my phone 5) Teaching remotely on Zoom on a laptop I agree that these are perfect for someone seeking really great quality headphones without breaking the bank. There are a couple of things I saw mentioned in previous reviews that I agree with and you may want to consider if you spend a lot of time wearing headphones for your work. 1) They are a bit heavy and after recording or mixing for about an hour I start to feel pressure on the top of my head where the headband rest. 2) They're also a bit tight on the ears, especially if you're wearing glasses. After about the same amount of time I start feeling a soreness where the ear pieces of my glasses are compressed by the cushions. That being said, I think they were a bit stiff out of the box and are wearing in and/or I'm getting more accustomed to them. Either way, I probably should take breaks more often. Haha! Taking them off for about 4-5 minutes usually relieves it.Damian

My son uses Sennheiser Lavalier's so I trust the brand. Bought these to replace a different brand that wore out and really loving the quality of the Sennheiser. I like that the batteries are replaceable, it was pretty easy to set up, and controls on the headphones are easy to use while wearing. They're a little snug but not uncomfortably so and the noise cancellation is excellent, sounds excellent, and it's a comfortable fit on my ears even when I wear them for several hours. They hold a charge really well. Very happy with my purchase.Heather

The performance was adequate, but the unit suffered from multipath cancellation (signal reduction due to the out of phase combination of multiple reflections). You will notice this when you move your head slightly, and there would be a sudden, and audible, change in signal amplitude or a short burst of background noise. As I had need for an addition system, I decided on the RS 175 as it seemed to have good reviews. I have not been disappointed. The RS 175 operates in the 2.4 GHz band with digital modulation. While 2.4 GHz systems are also subject to multipath propagation deterioration, I noticed none with this system, even with the headset taken outside onto the patio with the transmitter 40+ feet away. As typical with digital modulation systems, there was a threshold effect — if the headset got out of range, the signal would abruptly disappear, quieting the audio — in the past, you would simply be greeted with noise. In addition, I very much like the Bass Boost and Surround Sound options which can be quickly selected at the press of a button on the headset. The one negative for the headset is that you need to really take the headset off in order to figure out which button to press. I find this a rather minor inconvenience as I am not changing audio level, bass boost or surround sound options on the fly. In summary, Sennheiser did a superb job with this unit. The audio quality is excellent (I used an analog input — an optical interface also exists for even better quality) and the annoying multipath effects so common with many wireless headsets are non-existent.Robert

Knew I could count on Hammacher Schlemmer to have a quality product so I ordered these because I was tired of research and shopping. The box arrived in great condition, took the headphones out of the box and looked at the instructions. They look really simple but as soon as I saw word coaxial and noticed there is more than one cable that came with the headphones I called for backup. Hey I'm old give me a break lol. So my neighbor comes over to help and he had them set up in a couple minutes. The bad part was he was so impressed with the surround sound I wasn't sure if I would get them back. JK. The headphones fit great and the recharge station works good as well. So much easier to hear dialog on TV especially with shows that have loud background music. Just really happy with this purchase.Brenda

These were easy to install. Simple instructions. Battery installed, just plugged unto the 'sound out' on the back of the TV, and the transformer into an electrical socket. Be prepared, it takes nearly 10 hours for the battery to reach full charge immediately after installation. Comfortable. Sound is good — even though I suffer material hearing loss. Volume on the headset is controlled by a wheel on the right earphone. This is where my only issue is. I wear hearing aids, and without the hearing aids inserted in my ears the maximum volume produced by earphones isn't loud enough for me unless the volume on the TV itself is turned louder than my wife needs it. Had there not been this issue, I'd have rated it 5 stars. They're usable over a pretty good distance. They're installed on our bedroom TV which is on the second floor, and I wandered all over the house — including the basement — with no loss of effectiveness or volume. Nice. The same is true for going out to the mailbox at the curb. Worked well all the way there and back. One nice thing, for future consideration, is that the rechargeable battery in the headphones is replaceable. If it goes bad, there's no need to replace the entire headset — just the battery. If I ever need to replace the battery I'd look at the Sony battery first, but if the price differential is still the same, I'll likely end up buying a generic replacement battery at half the cost of a Sony battery. I purchased two of them, because I wanted to use 2 headphones at the same time. It works like a charm. Great sound. I have one base connected to the TV audio out, and one base used only as a charger, without being connected to a source. The headphone and the transmitter base connect automatically when the headphone is lifted from the charger. This is so very convenient! One important thing: some devices have "noisy" outputs. When I tried the headphone on a MAG256 media station I could hear all kinds of static noises. When I connected to the TV or to my phone, there was no static noise, so I assume there was an impedance mismatch with the source.tokydo-maki

Fantastic and lightweight. Simple to plug in, recharge and go! I didn’t even need to tune these in. Blocks out all other background noises. Great to watch TV and have sound direct in my ears and no sound coming out of my TV to annoy my neighbours. Everyone who lives in a unit, apartment or close proximity to other people should use these. Love that I can get up and make a drink and still hear the TV program I am watching. Makes watching TV much more enjoyable, especially movies. Sound is crisp and cups that sit on ears are comfy too. Highly recommend these to everyone.Danielle

All the expectation surrounding the quality of these headphones was pleasantly met. If you are looking for clear and balanced sound, these fit the bill. They feel solid in your hands (and heavy on the head) but comfortable to wear (at least for me) for a few hours. Noise cancellation is better than my Sony XM4. Digital crown dial and secondary button does the trick to play, pause, and toggle ANC (Sony did spoil me with the tapping of headset to play/pause but it's fine) Spatial audio is mind blowing and the convenience to easily connect to any Apple device – including the Apple TV is how you're rewarded for being a part of their ecosystem. Sony's way to pair only two devices simultaneously comes at a cost of lower bitrate of music. And if paired with an iPhone, when people call me, they tell me I sound great with little background noise. It is a bit of a head scratcher that they don't support the higher quality bitrate of music that Apple Music has in their library. Also, charging by lightning cable instead of USB-C is also a selfish decision on their part but the battery life is great. If you have a really large head, make a hard pass onto something else. If you want skull crushing bass response, go elsewhere. The bra/purse/case to allow it to go into very low power mode is not very attractive in my opinion. Thankfully there are 3rd party cases that now do the same thing and it protects it better when thrown in the backpack for travel. I got these headphone at a great price due to price matching (Amazon), BB rewards cash back, and a gift certificate I got for my b-day. Took the price way down below $300 (and it came included with 2 years of AppleCare). Lets start from what everyone wants to know first. Pros: 1. Holy mother goose, the sound quality is like nothing i have ever heard, it’s Fantastic, Surround sound with everything it connects to 2. The build quality is far superior to every headset i have ever used. I have had BOSE, JaBra, Sony, and this headset blows them away. IT is all metal save the ear cups and head band thingy. The headset is made out of a single carved out air craft aluminum . 3. COMFORTABLE , i wore these for 7 hours straight and never had any issues of being too tight, and despite what other reviewers have said, they dont feel heavy on my head at all. Nor does it heat up around your ears. 3. Battery life. I have not charged them yet and after 20 hours I still dont have to charge them, they are at 30% 4. The controls are perfect. Rather than mess with the touch type , the volume is a small well placed knob on the right that adjust the sound volume and pause and other functions i still haven’t explored. 5. Noise Cancellation, OMG, you wouldn’t believe the sound quality of noise cancellation, I went to the flight line at the army base near me, (yes I’m a vet) and was by one of the blackhawks talking to my friend. They started up the Blackhawk, and i called someone and they couldn’t hear it at all. You can hear you own voice like normal rather than the muffled sound you usually get with Bluetooth and noice cancelation, A ++++++ 6. Connection. After trying the Samsung buds pro, I was very surprised how uncomfortable they were, and how there was almost no noise cancelling. I also tried the Bose 700 and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds, I was dissatisfied with the design and noise canceling level. Also their app was not working properly. After seeing that the Sony was on sale, and after reading great reviews, I bought them. I was instantly impressed. The app has many more features, and works perfectly. The noise canceling is great. One of the greatest features, is that without even having my Bluetooth turned on on my phone, I can place the back of the left ear piece against the back of my Samsung Galaxy phone, and through NFC, without the app even running, and the headphones powered off, the headphones power on, and turn on Bluetooth on my phone and connect. When you connect the included cable between the headphones and your device, for some reason the noise canceling is even better. I am going to check into this to see why this might be as it does not make sense. The app allows you to adjust the ambient sound so that you can go from complete noise canceling all the way to being able to hear cars and noises around you. Most of the options for the headphones can also be controlled by buttons or swiping on the earpieces. It's been decades since I've owned a Sony product, and this reminds me of the quality that I remember seeing in Sony products. Since I don't want to always have bluetooth on because I'm not sure of the health risks involved, my research showed that when you plug in the cable it turns off the Bluetooth in the headphones. I tested this out by trying to reconnect via Bluetooth while the cable is plugged in. The phone was unable to find the headphones, which supports what I read, namely that Bluetooth is turned off in the headphones when you plug in the cable. Luckily found these on sale and had rewards points making them a great deal with super quality. They are also comfortable, lightweight and seem to have great battery life and quick charging via USB C. The only potential problem that I've discovered is that when wearing them outside in the wind, I do hear some of the wind. However these were not mainly purchased for outdoor use.sgp617

I purchased these about a month ago. This is my first foray into wireless noise canceling headphones in about five years, I am impressed with the improvements. The sound quality is simply terrific, approximately as good as a set of wired headphones of similar cost. The wireless link is reliable, no interference or dropouts noted though in fairness I usually use these with my phone which is never more than a few feet away. I purchased these in part to replace a set of headphones that I use when I cut my grass. That is a very challenging environment for noise reduction as it contains wide band noise from very low frequencies up to almost the limit of human hearing. The noise is also at a fairly high decibel decibel level, something like 90+dba at 1 m. The headphones knocks the mower noise down to a really surprising level, and even with the noise reduction working that hard the audio still sounds great. I also very much appreciate the touch features of these headphones. My experience with non-phone/computer gesture sensing has not been good. However these sense tap and swipe gestures very reliably. The headphones come in a small zippered case and include accessories such as an airplane adapter and hardwired cable. They charge in three hours or less, usually much less, from USB-C. Sony also has an app available for iOS and android that provides various settings for noise reduction, equalizer, and setting the function of a dedicated button on the headphones. I can't speak to the iOS version but the android version works well, I've had absolutely no issues with it. Overall I think these are a great choice, and well worth the price.Mark

It would not be fair to claim one is outright better than the other – the better question is what do you prefer? It is too difficult to recommend either the QC45 or the Sony XM4s over the other. Since I am fortunate to own both – here are notes/thoughts from my own experience – Sound Quality: Sony have an impressive soundstage especially with bass-heavy music. Sonys seem to have a greater volume output and maintain a well rounded/uniform sound from low to maximum volume ranges. Sonys are well suited for all music and especially impressive with bass-heavy music. They have a warm sound and one can enjoy listening to music at volume for a longer period of time compared to the Bose. If I want to listen/feel like Im hearing something at a club, Ill go for the Sony. If I want to appreciate vocals or instruments in a song, Ill prefer the Bose. Bose have an impressive soundstage with music that emphasize vocals or live instruments – in my experience you can hear more detail and pick instruments apart from one another with the Bose. The potential downside with such clarity and emphasis on the highs may be that you experience fatigue as volume is increased towards the max with I can best describe in my non-audiophile lingo as sharp treble. Build Quality/Comfort: Materials are comparable. Bose and Sony use a combo of faux leather and plastic. Sonys have bulkier earcups but the exterior of their headphones feature more premium feeling matte textured plastic. Bose have a slimline feel/look by comparison but have a more simplistic plastic feel to the exterior of their cans. My nod on build quality go to Bose though; the Sonys have already started to creak a bit when I wear them with slight movements of the head. This slight creaky noise originate where the band connects to each earcup. While Sony might exhibit slightly more premium materials, the build construction and lack of any creaks/rattles or looseness of the Bose and the slinky feel of the latter (along with the faux leather/more compact protective case) make the QC45s the winner here. Both are equally comfortable – draw on comfort. Noise Cancellation Both are impressive. Imo, I prefer the ANC of the Sony in cases where consistent low frequency noise is apparent. In cases such as flying, the Sony drown out the lower freqs and almost cloak it with a somewhat perceptible yet satisfying hiss/white noise. Bose do a godd job too with the lower frequencies but their slight edge might be in fighting against higher freq noise such as in a coffee shop. Other Notes: Sony capacitive touch controls can be both convenient and fun but at times just as frustrating. I enjoy swiping forward and backward for songs in a playlist (Bose can only skip forward) but changing volume or pausing music is more clunky. I only want to skip one or two tracks at a time so a swipe is convenient, but changing the volume is easier with a several quick clicks instead of several swipes. The quicker the swipe can be hard for the capacitive controls. When I take the headphones off though, its nice that the Sony tech knows (80% of the time) to pause the music. EQ Control/App: Sony has a better EQ App offering more adjustability that suits your preferences. Bose have a preferable phone-call experience and ambient mode gives me greater awareness of how loud I am talking out loud when on a call. TLDR: If you have a QC35 or XM3, this is a worthy upgrade. Owners of previous Sony XM ANC headsets may notice a slight degarde in material quality but the upgrade in tech everywhere else is a fair trade. XM4s are as good as the newer QC45s and trade the uber-detailed and crisp sound sound with an impressive bass positive soundstage and warm, full and balanced sound profile. Sony wins with its warm sound, immersive soundstage and ANC. Consumers who value the foremost vocal and instrument detail at the expense of bass will want to check out the QC45 instead.Szluski

I just received the speaker – dead – nothing works. Support tells me that I have to follow their process.

1. Fill out a form
2. Wait to get it inspected
3. Wait for a working speaker

The form requests ridiculous tasks like: "a picture of the full, back panel of your speaker" and "a few photos of your speaker and, in each photo, have a piece of paper with your name and the current date written on it". It is the most complicated process I've ever experienced.
The process will take 2-3 weeks for a damaged not working product that took a few days to ship. Nothing was my fault.

Don't get me wrong, the support team is helpful. But who in Customer Success creates this process? Don't wonder why people buy on Amazon. The new one would already be on it's way while we still work on the claim.Thomas Fuchs

I've had two pairs over the past week, and both have the same issue, a static sound perpetually in the headphones when using a wire connected to an external device. After testing with a wire, I find that a small buzz is now noticeable whenever I play audio, and it will not go away. It was fine in store, but as soon as I got home, they changed. This is so frustrating! I loved my MAJOR 3s, I love the small unobtrusive knob, sharing music between headsets, and a fantastic battery life, and these seemed to have more convenience than before; but with fundamental errors, I cannot recommend them. If you really want them, please ensure you test them before leaving the store, and compare your at-home experience to the test and determine if you are really satisfied.Rowan

I bought these a couple of weeks ago for use with my Android phone when out and about. My main priority was to have reasonably sound quality and these headphones definitely deliver on that front. I would describe the sound as warmish with reasonable detail and bass. Certainly good enough for my purposes. They are comfortable to wear and a doddle to set up. Being overear, they are a bit bigger so you did need to think how you are going to carry them when not in use. The controls are a little fiddly to begin with but get easier with practice. Delivery was swift. Generally I think these headphones are good at this price point.Ped27

Let me start by saying I am an amateur audio enthusiast that loves a balanced and detailed sound signature. I don't care about making phone calls or active noise cancellation (ANC). For the most part, I wear headphones in quiet places to listen to music and ANC usually messes up the sound signature anyway. Just give me good audio with passive noise isolation and I am satisfied. Second, I don't care for the bloated bass you find in most consumer headphones. Just let me hear what was recorded with clarity, detail, natural tonality, and a great sound stage. I've spent a modest amount on DACs, amps, earphones, and headphones to deliver the kind of sound that makes you remember why you love music so much. But there are times when I just want to kick back and relax and not be tied down by wires. My solution to date has been EarStudio's ES100 and a good pair of IEMs. The AAC codec from an iPhone using high-quality music source (FLAC, Amazon Ultra HD) with high-end in-ear monitors sound reasonably close to my wired Drop HD6XX or Hifiman HE400i cans on my Schiit stack. I had tried a few over-ear Bluetooth headphones but nothing has ever sounded even close to what I consider high quality audio. Either too much bass or an ANC system that interfered with the audio signature (on or off). Nothing met my amateur audiophile aspirations. That is until I got Sennheiser HD 350BT. After reading a few of the reviews, I almost didn't order them. But for around $100 I decided to take a chance. From the first listen I was blown away by the balanced sound signature. Not that far off from the Sennheiser house sound signature. After 20+ hours of breaking them in, the bass has opened up just a little and the mids are still wonderfully natural and perfectly placed evenly in the mix. And while these are not as good as a wired over-ear headphone on a high-quality dac/amp, for a wireless audio headphone solution these come enough to free me from the wires and not feel like I am missing much. The bass is solid from sub-bass to mid-bass without muddying up the lower mids. These are not consumer bass-head cans with bloated bass. You can feel the thump of bass drums and toms on ears. The bass is present way down into the frequency range, but there isn't an overpowering slam nor is it the star of the show. But it is clean and surprisingly detailed. And the sound app EQ settings, which is too simplistic, still let's you bump the bass some if you need a little more. Listening to Marcus Miller on Laid Black is great for illustrating how well these handle the lower frequencies. Miller's bass solos are a pure pleasure listen to. Mids are where many headphones fall short – either missing the natural sound of voices and instruments or placing them behind/under the bass and highs. Yet this is where much of the audio is in most genres of music. Voices, guitars, strings, woodwinds, brass, and snares/toms bring the bulk of audio that is to be heard. The HD 350BT shines here. Sennheiser really shows they no how to shape a balanced sound signature around high-quality mids. Listening to Boney James on Future Soul I heard the natural and realistic alto sax sound that is so, so good. The highs are also very good and actually somewhat relaxed for Sennheiser. I prefer just a little more air and sparkle, but even without EQ these are delightful. But using the very-basic EQ settings in the Sennheiser Sound Control app I was able to bump the highs to add exactly what I was looking for. Cymbals and triangles ring clear and the detail and imaging provided is surprising for Bluetooth wireless audio. No distortion, sibilance, or feel of grainy treble. You can hear small details of instrument decay, reverb, and echoes in the room. Listening to Marcin Wasilewski Trio with Joakim Miller on Spark of Life, I was able to hear the detailed clicks of drumsticks and subtle crash of cymbals of Michal Miskiewicz's excellent musicality on the drums in each song. But what I love best about the HD 350BT is the excellent dynamics and sound stage. I'm not sure how Sennheiser worked their magic building a digital audio decoder and amp into a headphone that delivers such an excellent sound stage. But I am very happy they did. They sound equally good at low volume or high. Overall dynamics of soft to loud is incredible for a wireless audio product. The stage is wider than average with a bit of depth and height. They detail of the highs with just enough air give a sense of spaciousness and realism that I really enjoy. It really put these over the top for me. Note that these are not the loudest headphones and to get these cranking they need to be in excess of 75% volume, which does not leave much room at the top end. But given the excellent passive noise isolation, they are more than loud enough for most, even in a moderately loud environment. The Sound Control App is marginally useful. The EQ works, but is essentially a three-band equalizer that can be toggled between a hard to use visuaAudioJunkie

As someone who works from home and is passionate about music, I listen to a lot of it all day every day. I've used various headphones over the years and come to prefer wireless headphones for their ease-of-use and the mobility they afford, especially when traveling. I've been using Sennheiser HD 350BT Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones for several weeks now, and I'm thoroughly impressed with them. They arrived with a USB cable for charging and an instruction manual. I found the instruction manual to be a little confusing, even in its simplicity, and the diagrams weren't much more helpful. Fortunately, the headphones are well-designed and easy to use and I was able to quickly pair them to my smartphone via Bluetooth; I appreciated that the headphones alerted me through voice commands when they were turned on/off, when they had been paired, etc. The headphones fit comfortably on my head and were simple to adjust. I was even able to adjust the ear portion of the headphones by swiveling them from side to side, and they felt soft and comfy on my ears, even after several hours of wear-time. The sound quality is fantastic: crisp, clear, and encompassing, even though these aren't noise-canceling. I could use a little more bass if anything, but I love the sound these Sennheiser headphones produce; what a great value! The control buttons for the headphones are located on the base of the right side, and this was convenient and accessible as I quickly learned that I could pause, fast-forward, rewind, skip, and repeat songs, as well as answer phone calls, video conferencing calls, and control the volume. The battery life was something that worried me, but it turned out to be excellent! Even with 3 – 5 hours of daily use, I didn't need to charge my headphones for a week. As for the white color, while I love it, I noticed scuff marks on my headphones within a few days of use. I'm not sure if storing them in a bag or a case would prevent this issue, but I might've thought twice about ordering these in the shade white if I knew they'd get dirty so readily. I really love how sharp they look, though! These were the cheapest headphones on a list I googled of "The 10 Best Wireless Headsets". Everywhere I looked had them for $99. What a bargain getting them at Walmart.com for $60. Bought these for my 18 year old son. He says they are great – just as good as the $150 pair I bought him last year (the right side doesn't work now). I was in the market for a set of bluetooth headphones which weren't noise attenuating. The Jabra Move is just right. Reasonable battery time, good volume but still allows for ambient noise to be heard which is crucial when using headphones whilst walking the streets or in public places. The sound quality is excellent with good base tones and clear music. True stereo which allows me to enjoy both instrumental and vocal music to be heard as intended. The price is fine for this type of headphone and it fits conveniently in my back pack. Also simply synching with both my Samsung S7 Edge and my HP laptop simultaneously.glennieb

I was looking to purchase a pair of high quality wired headphones for my mixer/gaming station, but I was skeptical about spending several hundred for the super hi-fi headphones like Sony or Senheiser makes. I came across these entry level headphones on sale, and decided to give them a try. I was initially a little disappointed that they felt a little cheap – with plastic parts and felt ear cups. However, once I started listening to music or playing games with these, I was immediately impressed. The sound feels like it comes from all around you, and there is a nice balance of bass (maybe not the most for some people who like it really heavy) that blends really well with the rest of the music. They were also great for gaming and let me hear footsteps and sounds that I didn't hear with even my other Bose headphones. After gaming and listening for several hours, I was surprised at how I almost forgot I was wearing them. The cheap feel that I initially thought, turned into extreme comfort over extended periods. The felt-like ear cups also didn't get hot and the headband did not dig into my head like some other headphones. It's obvious that the plastic material was a decision based on weight and comfort, and is in fact quite durable. They are not built to be sound cancelling, nor do they block all outside sound, but this adds to the comfort and longevity for use – I find that noise cancelling makes me sick and I don't like walking away from listening to headphones with my ears ringing from headphones that don't have a balance between outside/inside sounds. Overall, I Highly recommend these based on the overall sound quality and comfort. My only drawback is that there is not a replaceable/detachable cord.Rick

Like many people, I’ve ended up with a lot of headphones. For pure listening in a quiet environment, music or videos, the HD 560S is easily my go-to set. First, the build. Yes, they’re made of plastic and, no, they don’t fold for storage or travel. Still the plastic makes them lightweight and, while not luxurious, they do not feel cheap in any way. They come with a long cable. Like, really long. Like, long enough to trip over when you move. I pulled out just what I needed and left the rest wrapped up, but someday I’ll probably have to get a shorter replacement. And that takes us to the sound. This is the reason the 560S was made. The sound is simply remarkable, every sound, every note, is heard with clarity and precision. This includes the music you were supposed to hear as well as the sound of a bow hitting a muted string or someone in the studio covering a cough. The open air design gives them a very wide soundstage. It doesn’t sound so much like you’re listening to a recording as it does like you’re surrounded by instruments. The effect when watching movies can be startling, as that car that pass3 doesn’t just move from left to right, it seems headed right out of the room. This would be the place to mention that if you like headphones that color the sound, like Bose or Beats or most any consumer model, then you’ll probably hate these. They’re not designed to give you a specific listening experience, but to bring out what was recorded with complete and uncompromising accuracy.Notbobmontgomery

I have never purchased a pair of "audiophile" headphones before; I've only had Beats, Bose, various "high-end" gaming headsets, but all of those pale in comparison to these. I've never experienced music like I am with the HD560s, especially now that I have paired these with the Audio-Quest Dragon-Fly Red USB DAC. I subscribed to Tidal music and am listening to music in lossless format which has made me appreciate songs that I never thought twice about listening to. These headphones will allow you to pry into the world of music creation and determine whether or not songs were actually mixed and mastered well. Songs I once loved I can no longer listen to with these because I can actually hear how badly they were made. The opposite of that is also true, where there are tracks that I never really cared for but these headphones have given me an appreciation for just how well they were done. I can't believe how amazing music sounds now. I can finally understand why people would consider themselves to be audiophiles. I haven't listened to music this frequently since I was in college, and that was nearly a decade ago. It is like seeing for the first time, a breathtaking experience that I am so happy to be able to have. Buy a headphone amp, buy these headphones, and listen to music in a lossless quality format. These headphones are absolutely amazing! Coming from a pair of Bose "Quiet Comfort" headphones, this is definitely a step up, especially when compared to the Bose being wired in. For whatever reason, the Bose didn't sound as good wired as they did over Bluetooth. That said, even when playing over Bluetooth, they still don't match the Sony headphones. With my current setup, I have all the clarity I was looking for, though I could stand a tad more bass if I'm to be perfectly honest (just being greedy). I don't feel this is the fault of the headphones, just the fact that I'm using lower quality equipment to feed these (to be remedied in the future). I think if I got a better headphone amp that had the balanced output, things could get even better. Still, an hour or two with these just seem to make my troubles disappear. The only thing of note that I could say "against" these is that they are rather large, so that is something to be considered. I wouldn't say I'm a "small" guy, but I'm certainly not on the large side either. These headphones sit perfectly on my head, but at the smallest setting. Speaking of fit, I usually get sore from headphones after a couple of hours of use, but these are so dang comfortable, I don't have this issue at all. I think the fact that they are so large actually helps disperse the weight/pressure of the headphones very well/evenly across your head so you don't really have any pressure points, and the ear cups are very soft also. I don't have a ton of hours with these yet, but the hand full of hours I've put into them have been very pleasant. I bought them on sale, and don't regret this purchase at all. When I first heard these I was initially turned off. I was used to the open back sound of my hd660s and lcd-3, but after I got used to the sound I am finding that these headphones are much more immersive. They sound quite open (though still have a closed sound) and are very detailed. The isolation adds a layer of immersion that the open backs do not. Quite parts sound so much quieter in these. I'm going to give it some more time, but I may end up selling my audeze's after getting these.Applebear

In the box is the over the ear headphones, two cords, (a balanced connection headphone cable with a L-shaped balanced standard plug and a headphone cable with a stereo mini plug) and one unimatch plug adaptor. (There is also an instruction manual and warranty pamphlet.) The first thing that I noticed is the comfort of the headphones. The oversized ear muff fit perfectly around my ears but there is a warning in the pamphlet that states that the earpads may be damaged or deteriorate with long-term use or storage. The next thing that I noticed about the headphones is the cords. I love how the cords twist into the ear piece instead of just plugging them in. This to me makes the cord less likely to come out, more secure. I also love the stereo cord has a small piece of extender on the plug for those types of devices that have cases that may get in the way of the plug. Also I like that the stereo plug has a snug fit that you can tell if the plug is all the way in or not. Another thing that I would like to point out is the the specific type of cord. In the operating instructions pamphlet it does state that you can only use the supplied cords and earpads, so you definitely can’t buy a generic cord or earpad for these headphones if one is damaged, deteriorated, broken or lost. The sound is the next thing that I noticed. No apps, no equalizer, just plain plug and play. I do love the incredible sounds that come out of these headphones. I am hearing impaired and I don’t normally wear aids when listening to over the ear headphones and I must say that I will never have to wear them with these headphones. I attempted to listen to the headphones with the volume turned completely up on my iPad (hince my iPhone no longer has a headphone jack) and I definitely had to turn it down because it was so loud. If you like bass then you will definitely need to use your music player’s equalizer but television/movie apps needed no adjustment. You can definitely watch a movie in high quality sound with these headphones. Also, there is a disclaimer to not use the unit while walking, driving or cycling; doing so may cause traffic accidents. Do not use at a dangerous place unless the surrounding sound can be heard. I definitely agree with the disclaimer, you can’t hear anything around you and I tested different types of sound and the person next to you may be able to hear what you are listening to if you are listening at the highest volume. Another disclaimer that I would like to point out from the operating manual is that the product does have magnets which may interfere with pacemakers, defibrillators and programmable shunt valves or other medical devices. Do not put this product close to these medical devices and the person who use any of these medical devices. In my opinion, these are great headphones, I love the simplicity of the plug and play. No connecting via bluetooth, battery life or apps to deal with. The comfortability is also a huge plus for me as well and after about two hours, the earpads were still very comfortable to me. The headphones are really starting to get better sound, comfort with time. My only con for these headphone is there is no carrying case. My previous Sony headphones came with a case and a special slot for the additional cords but this one has a big bulky box that would be hard to carry in a daily tote or backpack.CoppinFam

Look Hyperx has undoubtedly put the best headsets for gamers with all budgets and made each pair really phenomenal but this new selling of the company has me questioning what's happened. I've owned both the cloud core and cloud 2 wireless headsets only to return both. The legendary comfort and build quality are there for endless gaming sessions but they both lack a high enough volume to actually hear what's going on around you in chaotic game environments. Look the sound is clean, thumping bass, highs/mids truly compliment one another and is probably the best I've heard for all around entertainment. I just don't get where the decibels are to really be able to turn these up and really hear all they have to offer. Call of duty is clear but footsteps and tactic sounds aren't easily picked up because they're quite. Look, a little more volume and these would be headset of the year for $100 and I would get rid of my Steele series Arctis 7p. I returned these for the cloud flight and boom, way better product. The headsets are decent. I have had other headsets from Hyperx before these honestly get the job done. Dont expect to get blown out of your mind. Also i have been getting a weird static sound from these once in a while. I assume its the pair that i have. I may exchange for another or return them completely to get the set up versions.OSA20

Comes fully charged out of the box. Is very comfortable for long periods, amazing sound, good Mic, the auto turn off feature when no sound is played for extended periods really help the battery last well over the 23 hours listed on their specs. It was difficult to evaluate these as simply a gaming headset or just for listening to music. Thankfully, they perform well doing both, but I have my personal reservations in just how well they do either. Let me start by saying that the ANC works surprisingly well with this headset, as it cuts out about 95% of any background noise once it is turned on, leaving your audio listening experience quite clean and clear. They are not perfect, but they perform well for a “gaming” headset in this aspect. I have tried to listen to an extensive range of music across a variety of genres and have found the audio listening experience to be clean and with sufficient bass for most musical types, but for those attempting to blow out their eardrums with bass, I could not get much more performance beyond their natural sound. If you are a “bass head” then you may need to look elsewhere as I couldn’t seem to turn it up much higher, with either the “Bass Boost” setting under Razer Synapse, or adjusting the EQ. The treble and mid-range frequencies on the Razer Barracuda Pro are exceptionally clean and crisp and sound great. For gaming, I do not typically use a microphone, but I have used this headset for video meetings and the other person had no issues with hearing me clearly or understanding anything I said. Otherwise, these sounded as well as some of my wired headphones for clarity. These sound far more precise and cleaner than previous Razer headsets I have used and have a clean sound range from low to high frequencies. I was not disappointed when gaming with these but, I was not blown away either. They just sounded like I thought they should sound for my personal tastes. I have used these on Windows 11 with the 2.4GHz “dongle” as well as solely as a Bluetooth connection. The latter connection does not show up in Razer Synapse on a PC, just with the dongle. So, you may not be able to adjust some of the enhanced features of the Razer Barracuda Pro without using the dongle. I did not find that changing the EQ settings did a whole lot to change the sound for the better, or sometimes at all. The sound enhancements in the Synapse software did not seem to respond at all, which I think is a a configuration problem on my end. I would not typically recommend BT noise cancelling headphones by themselves for gaming, but Razer has a viable product in the Barracuda Pro if you are looking for clean and precise sound quality and a gaming headset with a well performing mic. The Barracuda Pro headset is a very clean and professional looking headset that is very comfortable to wear for extended gaming sessions or for work and school, making it an excellent choice on paper for students and professionals looking for something they can game on, but also take into the office and not immediately signal "gamer" to everyone. The fit is fantastic, with a very comfortable and adjustable headband, the earcups are comfortably padded and large enough to fit bigger ears, and the materials are both durable and premium feeling. The box includes a very nice carrying case that holds everything you need to use the headset and keeps them safe while traveling, with a convenient storage compartment in the middle that holds the RF dongle, USB-A to male C charging cable, and USB-A to female C extension cable for the dongle. This latter cable is extremely important because this headset has some of the worst wireless interference I have ever experienced, whether it is connected directly to your device or via the extension dongle (laptop, PS5, AND XBox X)! Bluetooth works great and allows you to hear all that this headset has to offer: incredible spatial sound, great noise cancellation, and very good microphone quality. The latest firmware update has reduces this a little for me at home, where I run as much on a 5GHz band as possible, but in the office is terrible. I have not had a full connection dropout, but the constant buzzing and clipping from interference is horribly distracting while trying to chat on a work call or over in-game chat while playing COD. I really want to like these for a "do-it-all" wireless headset, but I suppose I'll have to continue with a multiple headset setup or using these purely with Bluetooth. I can't really recommend these unless the wireless interference issue is solved or you use exclusively wired connections for everything else, but that's unlikely. I really like everything else about these and they are very well built with great sound over Bluetooth, but there are too many other options that don't have the interference problem this has to be able to honestly recommend them.Mike

Good Headphones. (Not great- but good enough) These wireless headphones have very good, well balanced, even sound from bass to treble, and they are very lightweight comfortable. They have a fairly low clamping force, so they do not crush your ear like most on-ear cans, and they are reasonably lightweight, comparable to most wired headphones. They are not, therefore, well suited for use while doing aerobics or lots of busy household chores. They are, however, a good sounding, relatively affordable, and quite durable set of wireless headphones and are well suited for listening to TV and radio shows, and listening to music. My wife and I use them to listen to old time radio shows as the sound is up close and personal, making it easier to hear what is being said. While they are open air design, they minimize ambient sound in the listening venue, while allowing others to speak or get one's attention. These wireless cans sound good – not great like several hundred dollar audiophile cans – but plenty good enough for casual music and broadcast audio. I have been well satisfied with my set for several years. Volume and tuning controls are easy to use without confusion once you get used to using them. I may purchase a backup set in case they ever fail. This is, of course, just MY take … your mileage may vary. JRTT

got these for my father at Christmas. Had some issues setting them up but once that was worked out he loves them. He has major hearing loss and watches TV at all hours. He would have the TV up so load it would keep the house up but now he can set it where he needs it and everyone else sleeps. The sound from these is excellent and clear.erbjl

I already have RS 140 headphones and wanted to add another compatible headphone set for the occasional additional listener. The RS 135 picks up the signal from the RS 140 transmitter as they work on the same RF frequency. The RS 135 looked good and the price was right. Its controls are not as sophisticated as the RS 140 but are adequate for the purpose. Sound is about as good, which is excellent. The only drawback is that the headphones have a different and less comfortable ear-piece than the RS 140; bears directly on the ear rather than over the ear. OK for occasional limited use but I wouldn't recommend them for wearing a long time.phyljohn

Unboxing these headphones it is clear that they are a quality item and they feel expensive everything you would expect from a Sennheiser item costing nearly £200. On the plus side of the fit, they are really adjustable and fit really comfortably even when wearing for a number of hours straight as I have been. They are quite heavy though and I think lighter materials would have made more sense for an item of this price. The important bit, sound quality, is in my opinion as good as I have used. Playing games like I do, you need to have good locational awareness from sound and these fully immerse you into the game environment and the detail is crystal clear. I like the adjustable volume on the right ear (although I didn't find it right away) and the guys I play with have told me the sound clarity of my voice in comms is much better, with the ambient sound cancelling doing the job. One downside and it is a small one is the threaded cord between the headset and controller. It is obviously a durable solution and wont deteriate, however as it rubs on your clothes/shoulder it is really loud through the headset. I would recommend these for experienced gamers who want great sound quality and a pair of headphones that are built to last (rage quitting and headphones thrown at the wall included!) Padding on ears fell apart within a year, sound is very quiet if you don't have an external amplifier (which costs an extra couple hundred). My $260 Logitech G935s lasted years with same level of care, and has comparable sound quality and a good microphone. Waste of money completely.
