I ordered three travel/trial size products: Perfect defense, medium hairspray, and the dry texture spray. All 3 are aerosol cans, but the Perfect Defense came broken. This Morrocanoil Perfect Defense has 450° protection and is effective at protecting my strands without any residue or weighing my hair down. I absolutely love the scent and while not as strong as other Morrocanoil products, it stays true to their signature scent which is likely my favorite of all haircare lines. The only downfall to this heat protectant is the ingredients. Ether and alcohol are the first two ingredients listed so this may be a deal breaker for some. I did not find this protectant to be drying or adversely affect my hair in anyway. I have used this shampoo before for cleansing because I love that it comes with a pump bottle at the drugstore. I love a nice fragrance in my shampoo because it makes me feel like I’m at the salon…and this shampoo delivers. The rose fragrance is great and long lasting. I actually felt the shampoo to be great at clarifying/cleaning scalp as well since I used it on one week old hair with lots of built up residue. However, while this shampoo lathered, it was not as much of a bubbly frothy lather like my Redken purple shampoo. I also didn’t find this to be the most moisturizing when compared to my Carol’s daughter/Aussie moist shampoo. Overall I would continue to use this as a clarifying shampoo/as a first shampoo before applying purple shampoo and letting it sit. In my opinion, Pantene's Miracle Moisture Boost Rosewater Conditioner is a very effective conditioner. My hair was feeling extremely dry and frizzy, and had been becoming unmanageable before using this product. After my first use of the shampoo/conditioner system, I noticed my hair was softer, and felt more hydrated/moisturized, with a definite shine. The conditioner helped to tame some of the frizz and After just a few uses, my hair looked much healthier than before. It is sulfate, paraben, dye, and mineral oil free with that classic rose scent (that reminds me of my mom.) I’ve been using this product for years. If I was reviewing this product a few years ago I’d give it 5 stars. As of late I’ve moved away from heat styling and accepting my natural texture. This product was my best friend for quite a-few years. After blowing out my hair I’d section out my hair and give them a healthy spraying with this spray. I never had any issues with greasiness or stickiness. My hair always looked smooth and stayed nice and soft. This definitely combats frizz and does a nice job protecting against thermal heat. The biggest issue I had with this product is the fragrance. It’s pretty heavy and sweet. It Always made me sneeze! Without fail. Obviously I put up with it, but it definitely irritated my nose. I Bought the travel size Neuro Iron Hairspray. Just as a previous reviewer states, the spray nozzle stopped working. I curled half of my hair and the bottle stopped spraying the product. I created this account just to leave this review. I love this Aveda product! I have the most awful looking hair texture. The kind that looks like I stuck my finger in a light socket. Never smooth. It looks frizzy and damaged but it's not really. Just a few light sprays of this over my dry hair before a flat iron and my hair is can be transformed to spun silk! It's amazing! It's light, the smell is subtle. The shine is great too. Just perfect for my fine hair. THANK YOU Aveda. Perfect product, worth every penny! I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. I feel like it also helps tame the frizz, which is great for me! Overall great product, I just think that it's a bit too pricey, so I removed one star.sheryn.d

I don't have thick hair but it appears like I do because I have SO much hair. It's color damaged and very dry and frizzy so I either need to add curling cream to get my waves or fully blow dry it straight. I used to use the Bb repair blow dry cream and that made my hair silky after a blow dry. This product left me with a residue on my hair I can feel. I was on TIK TOK late one night, as usual, and came across a hair dresser that recommended the Verb Ghost line shampoo, well one thing led to another and I found that Ulta has a starter kit that included the shampoo, conditioner, prep, and oil. So because it was such a great deal, I ordered a kit and added their deep conditioner because who doesn't like having a deep container to try as well. While I waited 3 days for my order to arrive, I allowed my hair to get as dirty as possible. If I was going to try this line, I wanted to get the full effect on the first use. The order finally arrived and I ran to the bathroom like a giddy school girl that couldn't wait to try this product line. Let's talk packaging! It is simple but high end. To be honest, the name Ghost and it being a black bottle, is what originally won my goth little heart! The smell was about average for salon quality hair care, which is great because I knew it wasn't filled with a bunch of artificial fragrances. I did my usual lather rinse repeat, followed with the deep conditioner that I let sit for 5 mins, towel dried my hair, added a little squirt of the Verb Ghost Prep through out my whole head, combed out, then added 2 pumps of the oil to my ends. Now usually that is where I stop because I HATE blow drying my hair. But today was different and I needed the results ASAP. So I grabbed my blow out brush and started at work. The results? My hair was so healthy and shiny! It smelled so good, felt amazing, and it actually had some volume! This stuff (when used sparingly) didn't make me feel weighed down at all. And because my hair is so long, usually most products make my hair feels so heavy and feels like it left a gross film on my strands. Now I will say, don't use the Prep if you want to air dry your hair. I have done it a couple times now, and it leaves my hair kind of crunchy feeling towards the roots. I Love love love. I just used this last night and super pleased with the results. I have very fine hair and it does not weigh it down or feel greasy like others posted. It has a nice scent too. So many hair products have silicone which over time coats the hair but not allowing moisture in and can leave build up and dry hair from inside out. This hair product has none of the bad stuff and leaves my hair feeling nourished and protected. I have shoulder length fine hair, I used about a nickel size amount to entire hair shift but focusing more on the ends. I will buy this again.AmyAbs

Not only does it get rid of frizz but it also contains heat protectant up to 450 degrees. One of the things I love about this brand is called "6-free haircare" which means NO silicones, NO harsh sulfates, NO artificial dyes, NO phthalates, NO parabens; and NO DEA. As a girl with wavy/curly hair silicones and parabens make my hair feel awful, so i typically avoid products that contain those ingredients. You don't need much of the product, but apply it root to tip. This product is good for 18 months after opening. I’ve been looking for something to help tame the frizz since I’ve moved to Florida. This product is also a heat protectant, which is a bonus. I do like the way it makes my hair feel since it seems to plump the strands just a little. Other products have left it feeling flat, but not this one! It does seem to linger in my hair even after a wash, smoothing the strands. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not (may lead to build-up), but for now I like it. So its great for moisture but it doesnt block any type of humidity. Its quite of bit of money to pay for something that doesnt do what it claims to do. I purchased during Ultas prestige sale soI didnt pay full price. I would still apply a cream over this as it is lightweight. I used this under the blow dry cream by briogeo but neither provided any humidity blocking. I used these two products in conjunction with my revair and my hair was super soft just no hold, my hair was smooth and felt moisturized with using the briogeo leave in and blow drycream I wish their was hold, I wish the product size was larger for the amount of money. My hair has never felt healthier in all my years of using protectants. Joico is a fantastic brand, and IronClad was phenomenal. Their new Hero with added shine is still difficult for me to adjust. I have long thick wavy hair that gets dry easy. I wash with all soft redken brand shampoo/conditioner. While wet, I add "United" Redken all over and I normally let it air dry (blow drying works fine too) I use hot tools at its highest setting (450) to straighten my hair. I would take sections, spray iron clad directly on my hair and style, and immediately after, my hair felt soft, light and never did more with it. Just perfect. Hero adds a gloss that makes your hair feel heavier in the beginning. I've adjusted by using less, spraying further away, but the results are the same. It's like my hair has to dry all over again. I still recommend this product since they no longer make my beloved IronClad. But just be warned, if you don't have dry hair, this will make your hair appear oily. I used it as suggested, and it leaves my hair dry, sticky, and dull. I really hate it. I don't feel like it protects my hair. It makes it worse.T

I love this Cantu heat protectant spray! It smells wonderful, sprays evenly and lightly and the bottle seems to last me a long time. PROS – I an very sensitive to smells and the fragrance wasn't overpowering. CONS – The product becomes sticky once it's on the hair for five minutes. I didn't like how my daughter's hair turned out using this product. I usually add jojoba oil to wet hair (natural) then blow dry then flat iron. I replaced the jojoba oil with this heat protectant. It caused fly always while leaving the hair "puffy". Not sure how to describe but I just threw the entire bottle away.Bernadette
This isn't a bad product by any means, and it does the job in terms out protection. But, for those with who struggle with products weighing heavily on their hair, I'd avoid this and save the money. I had the opportunity to try Hair Food's new coconut and argan oil "Heat Protection Blend" and I would enjoy sharing my experience. I used this product on my towel-dried hair after shampooing and conditioning as usual. I flipped my head upside down and spritzed liberally then straightened up and applied a little more. I worked it through with my fingers and then I blow dried as usual. I did not use any other product on my hair so I could really get an idea of Hair Food's benefits. After blow drying and a bit of finger combing, my hair was soft and shiny. Very nice! The product also has a great smell that filled the whole bathroom while I was drying my hair! As my hair is thin, it only takes me a couple of minutes to dry, and I only use curling irons or flat irons occasionally, I probably wouldn't use this product much BUT…we did have an accidental discovery! My boyfriend grabbed the Hair Food heat protection spray after showering and sprayed it (probably quite generously!) on his hair and WOW! His very curly red locks looked great! He did not blow dry or apply any kind of heat but his hair looked and felt awesome, shiny and SO soft! So, I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with thick, curly hair, regardless of heat applications. In conclusion, Hair Food's heat protection blend is a lovely product and it does what it says. Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.
My hair has never looked so good! I love it. I use it before I curl or straighten my hair and I only use it on the last 4-5 inches of my hair. I do like this, works good when you do not over spray. Can be very greasy on finer hair types so use sparingly. A little goes a long way with this product. I have thin hair that gets weighed down easily. Heat protectants that I've used in the past don't always mix well with other styling products, and I've tried so many combinations over so many years, leaving me feel hopeless! My hair would fall flat within 2 hours of styling it or frizz at the slightest bit of moisture in the air. It ended up heavy and greasy looking without the body, thickness and shine that I crave. I use Thick It cream to give my hair body and fullness, Remede Argan Oil on my lengths and ends for shine, Rival Heat Shield to protect my hair from damage when using heat from a blow dryer or styling tools, and Trois Chic Three Way Hairspray to set my style. I can't believe that all of those products don't weigh my hair down. I've been using L'ange products for 6 months now and my hair has never looked this good! I was so excited to get this to use with my LeDuo360 and LeVolume, but first spray and…I smell ALCOHOL?1? Yes, the first ingredient is Alcohol. WHY? Yes, it says karatin infused (9th ingredient) and other goodies, but alcohol? Two types of alcohol in this! So my already dry hair will not be getting a dosing of a more drying ingredient. I am very confused by the rave reviews when this clearly SMELLS like alcohol and also evaporates like alcohol, so HOW is it helping the hair?? Spray it on your hand…it's GONE within a few seconds- if you're putting it on your hair, it's gone before you get the flat iron/dryer/styler or anything else to work with. Placebo effect for the dazzling reviews?? I'm just stumped. I'm not a l'ange hater either- i LOVE my LeVolume and LeDuo 360 as well as the Satin Nectar (even though it has salicylic acid in it which IS drying). I'm just thoroughly disappointed in this one. I’m giving 5 stars bc I love your products! I ordered a few things during your annual sale. All items showed in stock. Only, after the order, did I get told one thing was on back order and the whole order wouldn’t be shipped bc of one item. I’m even paying for shipping so it wasn’t even free shipping. This was over a week ago. I’m only frustrated bc I needed more supply for an updated cut I got yesterday. So, I had to scramble around to find similar Paul Mitchell products. I just wish your site would just say “out of stock” if y’all didn’t really have it in. This product should be discontinued by the smell alone. The product itself seems to he ok for hair. The one and only time I used it, it did make my hair feel a lot more moisturized. But the smell…TERRIBLE!! It smelled so bad but despite the smell, I still tried it in hopes that it would go away. Well this made me sick. Trigggered migraines that lasted days. Worst of all, several washes later, the horrible smell would not go away. Based on description, reduces frizz and flyaways which I’m not sure why any product would want to reduce frizz or flyaways. I say that because that’s the point have natural hair to be free. And, unless you’re trying to control frizz and flyaways in a protective style then yes I can see why. I am a wash and go for a year and don’t mind the frizz and flyaways. The product smells really good thought!!! Even after hair dry, the product can be smelled days after without using any of the other MO products to keep hair moisturized. Based on the 8 fl oz jar🏺I got 2 uses wash/go uses and a little left for a 3rd. I have very dense hair which (when I say dense I mean that you have find my scalp lol) means this size jar is not really enough for my hair. I did not get a tingling feeling using this product and may be that didn’t leave on the required 15-30 minutes. I still would buy this product because my hair shine and for a conditioner to give shine that’s good. Anywho that’s my opinion on MO Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner. Love this mask! Ok, so it costs slightly more than I would like to spend on a tub of hair mask but it is worth it. Have repurchased already! The texture is more watery than the average mask but this just melts into the hair. I have naturally straight thick (previously coloured) hair and this mask leaves it silky, shiny and soft. There is a slight tingling sensation on the scalp but the directions say it is to be expected and means it’s working – always good to stimulate the scalp for hair growth I guess. There is a scent but I don’t mind it. Highly recommend.

I got this due to the reviews plus I like the Jojoba leave in. I’ve tried it and tried to use it differently but this just doesn’t cut it. Like others have said it can get greasy. I got some fried spots from it, I’ve tried to understand how the reviews are so high. I also can’t use even two sprays in my bathroom as it fills the whole room and it’s not exxactly small. Been buying this for over a decade. Recently they change their novel and every time I spray at the nozzle sticks in the downward position and I have to lift it up. It’s incredibly annoying. I am hoping to swap it out for the old sprayer if they have it in stores but if they don’t I will be looking elsewhere for a new heat protection spray. It is one thing to raise the prices (used to be 6.29 back in the day) but when you downgrade the quality of the bottle it makes me not want to bother anymore. I contemplated buying a spray bottle to put this in but why, I’m already paying $10 with tax for this! Product itself is great which is why I been buying it since 2005 so please change to the original nozzle if you want to retain long term consumer of this product.

Lets start with the ONLY "con"- my local Ulta doesn't always have it in stock. I have very curly, somewhat frizzy hair and I live in Texas so the humidity makes my hair completely unmanageable. I recently had several inches of hair cut off, my stylist used Trilliant before she used the blow dryer and a second slight mist before straightening my hair. My hair has never looked or felt better! I wrote down what product she used on me and went directly to Ulta to pick it up. Since that day myy hair is smooth, shiny, has no frizz and when I straighten it I don't have the frazzled 'too much heat' look on the ends. I can actually run my fingers through my previously unmanageable mane! The smell is fantastic and isn't over powering like some products can be. Now I won't use anything else.aCoffeeJunky
This product is great! I use it to help protect my fine, curly, color treated, prone to breakage hair from heat tools. It is a pricey item being anywhere from $16-$19 a bottle. If I'm using it almost everyday during the week the bottle could last me 4-6 weeks. (I have long hair) Just keep that in mind when purchasing this product. I feel it's worth every penny though. I'm a low income woman but this is one product I go back to again and again. One other thing, it does feel a little sticky in your hair when you first spray it I usually spray this product in my hands and rub it in between them in order to not have that feeling as much, but after you use your hot tool that feeling goes away! I allow my hair to mostly air dry before spritzing and using a styling blow dry brush. It smells okay and works okay but is nothing to rave about. If I use too much, it can feel a bit sticky. This is not a particularly moisturizing product if that is something you need to take into consideration. The shimmer content, while observable when shaking the bottle, does not appear to do much for my hair. For the price, I definitely think I can do better. My hair is long, straight, medium density, bleached, and trends oily.Kimberlee

i love this product and it does everything it says it should — my hair is finicky, so that's high praise. but the glass bottle? garbage. knocked it over one time and it shattered, and i do mean SHATTERED, into many tiny pieces. i keep finding them the hard way because they were too small to see to sweep up. t couldn't salvage the serum because of all the little shards! nearly $30 in the trash, itty bitty shards stabbing my feet, and oil/serum that took hours to completely remove from my floor. i understand sustainability, but surely there's a medium to be met here?
The product was okay; I used it for about 4 days. Then on day 5, the slightly oily bottle slipped from my hand to the tile floor and shattered – I mean SHATTERED- into a million pieces. Still picking up tiny pink shards of glass and also pulling them from my feet. Have used lots of oil type hair products in past and never had breakage like this. I would avoid based purely on packaging!
I wasn't blessed with thick hair. Mine is fine, medium length and color-treated (honey beige blonde) with a mind of its own. Until a month ago, my hair routine was shampoo/condition, work oil treatment through hair, use foam volumizer, and blow-dry. I saw BLOCKADE on Amika website and realized in all my years of styling and blow-drying, my hair looked fine for a few days then lost its fizzle. Okay, so maybe it's the weather. BLOCKADE Test Run: I shampooed and conditioned; stepped out of the shower. I worked three pumps of BLOCKADE through my hair.. I could see a difference, my hair was loving it and I wasn't half finished. I used my other oil treatment, foam volumizing then started blow-drying. It was then that I saw a huge difference. My hair felt/looked fuller and shinier. I had used other products that supposedly protect the hair from heat and damage but none of them did what BLOCKADE does. My family and friends noticed the difference which is huge. BLOCKADE lives up to its name and delivers. My style lasts til the next shampooing. Curious to see what my hairstylist has to say at my next appointment. I also bring my Amika products with me.

I actually really like this heat protectant from Foxybae. I didn’t think that highly of most of their products as some people have, but this heat protectant was well done! The spray bottle is feminine cute. The functionality of the bottle is absolutely brilliant! Easy to hold/spray, mists’ perfectly, smells nice. Even if this product didn't work, the smell alone is enough to love it! Like, if it came in a body spray, I would totally buy it! But this sweet smelling spray not only protects from heat damage and breakage, but it also contains biotin to help hair grow stronger and quicker! Three strikes and I'm SOLD! I also really love the bottle it comes in, the nozzle never gets clogged and mists softly yet evenly. It's medicore. The packaging is cute, sprays well and smells like yummy vanilla, but it leaves a tacky residue on my hair. It's not super sticky or hard, it still leaves the hair flexible but I don't love the slight tackiness. I ended up returning it because I honestly prefer the tresemme one. It makes the hair silky and doesn't leave a weird residue. It's also half the price so I'm sticking with my tried and truekelly.e
