I don't know when or where i purchased this from. However, a few weeks ago I was going through my products and found this. I sprayed it on my hair right before drying it. I was completely amazed and so happy I found it because it made my hair so soft, light, sleek, smooth and it smells good! It didnt leave a heavy oily texture like other products do. I am absolutely obsessed with the smell of this. I have very fine hair and find it easier for me to spray some into my hands and rake it through my hair that way to get it evenly distributed without using too much, otherwise it can get greasy on me using it directly from the sprayer. Very fine mist though and considering how little you need to coat your hair, it's a really good value. I can see this bottle lasting me the rest of the year if not longer.

For the longest time now I have been struggling to find something to make my hair smooth. I live in Georgia and have medium thickness, long, straight hair. The humidity is always crazy and I always have a ton of frizziness and flyaways. This spray is an absolute miracle! My hair is soooo silky and smoothed down without feeling greasy or heavy. I use this in place of/as if it's a hair oil/serum and it works better than any hair oil I've tried, and I've just about tried them all. This feels more moisturizing, repairing, smoothing and detangling than all of them, but it's also lighter and doesn't leave residue as long as you don't use way too much, whereas most hair oils either don't do enough, or if I use enough to get the benefits it leaves residue and weighs my hair down-there's no "sweet spot" middle ground. Some even do the latter without doing the former! But this stuff just leaves my hair soft, shiny, smooth and detangled without heaviness, residue, or oiliness. I can and do it it wet and dry, and when used on wet hair it cuts drying time down at least by half. The only thing is because my hair is on the fine side, I never spray it directly in my hair when using on dry hair (on wet hair sometimes I do sometimes I don't, it depends on much moisture my hair feels it needs) as it can get a little oily looking when I do so. Instead, I spray it directly in the palm of my hand, rub it in my hands and then run it through my hair, just like a regular hair oil/serum. Most oils and serums make my hair feel like it has a plastic coating left on it, even if I don't use too much and often without even leaving it feeling moisturized and soft under said coating-sometimes it even feels more dry (but still coated)! But this always just leaves my hair super soft and shiny, never coated, always clean! I also love that unlike the vast majority of hair oils, this is clear and doesn't stain your hair if it's light. A little also goes a long way and I feel like my bottle will last for ages, making it an excellent value since it's already considerably cheaper than many pro hair oils. Last thing- although this product is amazing for blow drying-don't let the name fool you! It is JUST as good for air drying and for use on already dry hair! in fact, those are the two ways in which I primarily use it since I rarely blow dry my hair. I've seen/heard this product be highly recommended throughout the internet and by both hair professionals and consumers alike for over a decade now and I completely understand why now. If this is too heavy for you, then try the Platinum Blow-Dry Mist instead of the spray. It goes on lighter. I've used both and honestly they both work for me, I tend to prefer stronger stuff, lol. Kenra has many choices for this type of product if you look over their line you can find something for your hair type. This one gets the most hype. It's multi purpose, I spray a small amount, not overdo it. I'm not crazy about the smell like many users here but I don't mind it. If I don't use too much the scent is not overpowering. This acts as a styling aid, heat protectant, cuts blow dry time and also I never need any hair smoothing oil afterwards like the bio silk, etc. which saves money. I had frizz damage on the strands of my hair from heat styling and using a curling iron. The curling iron smooths it but then causes more heat damage and it was a vicious cycle for years. But now my hair is all growing out, back to my normal straight/wavy smooth hair of my youth, thanks to not having to use the blow dryer as long or the curling iron. I use that revlon brush dryer now. I bleached my hair twice in three days and the second day of bleaching my hair it was completely fragile to the point where I literally did not want to brush it because every time I did hair and hair would fall off and I'm talking chunks of hair. I immediately remembered about this product, because I had used it in the past and it had made wonders for me. This time it still came through for me, I bought the shampoo and conditioner along with the hair repair mask and like I said it didn't disappoint me at all. So, I bought this on a whim, right before a long trip because I’ve been wanting a good heat protector when I blow dry and straighten my hair. My hair has never felt healthier in all my years of using protectants. Joico is a fantastic brand, and IronClad was phenomenal. Their new Hero with added shine is still difficult for me to adjust. I have long thick wavy hair that gets dry easy. I wash with all soft redken brand shampoo/conditioner. While wet, I add "United" Redken all over and I normally let it air dry (blow drying works fine too) I use hot tools at its highest setting (450) to straighten my hair. I would take sections, spray iron clad directly on my hair and style, and immediately after, my hair felt soft, light and never did more with it. Just perfect. Hero adds a gloss that makes your hair feel heavier in the beginning. I've adjusted by using less, spraying further away, but the results are the same. It's like my hair has to dry all over again. I still recommend this product since they no longer make my beloved IronClad. But just be warned, if you don't have dry hair, this will make your hair appear oily. Let me start by saying I received this as my very first voxbox, thank you so much! I am a licensed hair stylist so my hair tools get up to 400 degrees so the protection it offered, fabulous! I used the today for the first time. The scent is very light, reminding me of a rose. Very tolerable for me, as I am so allergic to scents of products. My hair is shoulder length so I probably used about 10-12 sprays of product on damp hair. It delivered on the detangling aspect as I skipped using conditioner to test this out, 100% there! Blew dry my hair and noticed more shine, softness and volume instantly. A+ there! I usually wear my hair with a wave/soft curl….my hair wouldn’t hold a curl after using this product so I wore my hair straight for the day. It did look healthier than it normally does if I decide to wear my hair straight so that was nice, had more of a flow to it, more movement. I purchased this to deal with my frizzy coarse hair that has been misbehaving badly with all the wet weather in Sydney. The product claims that the styling effect will last up to 3 days or until the next wash. The instructions say to use on damp or wet hair so I use it while drying my hair after a wash. It is heat-activated, so you need a hair dryer, and preferably finish with a flat iron. On my thick long hair I need about 15-20 sprays and comb through. The product does assist with heat protection and styling, and my hair does look smooth and straight as it usually does after using a flat iron. I'm not a big fan of hair spray because it makes my hair stiff, sticky and hard to wash, but Great Barrier isn't like that. It smells amazing, a soft scent, it's not overpowering. It's free of negative energy, which means, unlike other hair sprays, it doesn't contain harsh chemicals, it's vegan and no animal cruelty. So far so good! I love this stuff. My hair is waist length, thick but baby-fine textured. Basically, the texture is wispy-fine but I have an absolute ton of hair. The curl / wave pattern is 2B. I tend to have flyaways, and I also have some dryness and split ends toward the bottom. I tried this the first time on dry hair. I was super impressed by how soft my hair felt immediately, but not greasy at all. The flyaways settled down, and split ends became invisible. Some spray-on treatments leave a gross residue. This didn't. It leaves a subtle shine that looks natural, not super shiny like a high-gloss thing. That might be different on hair that's very straight. With some wave, "shiny" is relative. The result I like best is overall manageability plus no flyaways or visible split ends. Because the texture of my hair is so fine plus I have so much of it, I tend to get a lot of knots. Throughout the day, I tried brushing it out just to see if it was still manageable. And it was! My hair can also get frizzy, but I see no evidence of frizz after using this. I braid my hair at bedtime. Ordinarily, I would need to use a detangler to brush it out before braiding. With this, I did not need to use anything. It just brushed right out from just the amount that I had used that morning. Since the first use, I get the same results every day. No flyaways, no frizziness, no visible split ends, and really nice manageability. The scent is pretty strong. That might be a good thing or a bad thing depending on whether you like the scent. My new go-to multitasking hair product! I have shoulder-length straight hair that is medium in thickness (asian hair) and is recently bleach/dyed brown. My hair has been looking more frizzy and damaged after showering, so I applied this after washing my hair and before using a blow dryer/curling iron. While the product looked thick in the bottle, it still sprayed easily and did not feel heavy in my hair. The scent was okay, a weird mix of hair spray smell… but I think this is because the product is vegan and tries not to use fragrance/unnecessary chemicals. My hair definitely felt less frizzy when I finished drying it. I finished styling it by applying IGK crybaby hair serum and my hair was smooth. I ADORE the smell. It is very beachy / coconut, lasts all day. This product is GREAT for heat protection and shine / detangling. However, I have thin / fine hair and this is way too greasy / oily. Good product. Great to use if going out when the weather is blustery keeps your style in place very well. I know a lot of people wash their hair everyday, but I personally dont tend to though, so the only downside for me was that it didnt brush out as well as other LOreal hair fixing products Ive used. I found there was still a fair bit of residue left which hindered styling my hair the next day, leaving me no option but to wash it out. I love using the sleek iron by matrix when I straightened my hair. I like that it does not weigh my hair down. Also, it helps keep my flyaways in place. This Matrix Total Results Mega Sleek Iron Smoother is the best I've tried. It protects my hair from heat damage and also keeps in de-frizzed all day. To use this I just section my hair before straightening and spray it evenly through each section. It dries quickly and doesn't leave my hair sticky/tacky like other brands I've previously tried. It smells lovely too. The bottle lasts me several months and the spray nozzle sprays a light mist evenly over the hair. Highly recommended this spray. I also use Matrix Total Results Mega Sleek shampoo and conditioner which are my holy grail products.

For years, I was using Sauve Unscented, but it seems it was scented and my allergies and asthma hated that and I noticed my scalp was very itchy…. I tried a few other hairsprays and got the same perfume scent and itchiness. Took a chance on this hairspray. Most scent I get is a light alcohol smell that goes away instantly and does work as good as the others. Only thing I have to do is run hot water on the spray hole so it doesn't clog up.. which it did a couple times. But all in all, I will purchase this again.
Product works well. Hair is smooth, tangle free, and has added much needed moisture to my hair. YOUR BOTTLING STINKS. Price is already expensive. You should rethink how you got this thing package. The nozzles do not work and other people have also complained not just me. If you buy this product get your own spray bottle. Or unscrew the top and just trying to not drop all of the liquid through your fingers and use it directly onto your hair. The product will also make you cough. There is a strange smell that will make you gag if you accidentally breathe as your spray the product on your hair. My advice get your own bottle to spray on the products. Hold your breath when spraying the product. Then dry hair and style your hair … enjoy
It is very hard to find unscented products that work nicely on hair — especially if you HAVE to use them. My dermatologist had me switch to all unscented products due to skin rashes, eczema, etc, and I find it has helped to use these and Vanicream products. The styling gel is very nice, and works nearly as well as the high end (scented) product I used to get from my hair salon … I wish they made an unscented hair oil to tame flyaways.

This came highly recommended to me so I was super disappointed when it continually left my hair gummy and sticky. I could barely get a brush through after styling! I tried a few different application techniques but couldn’t bring myself to use it more than 3 or 4 times before throwing it out. I had a bad hair day every single time I used this product and had to wash it out by the end of the day. My hair is really damaged. We'll, half of it is anyways. I started growing my hair out a while ago. I have left the top part of my hair totally natural with no dye, and the bottom half of my hair is totally over-processed, and has been bleached and dyed more times than I could even begin to count. I had tried a few other heat protection products prior to this (kevin murphy/aveda), and this is the best so far for my fine, colour-treated hair. it sprays on light, the smell does not linger and it's pleasant when it is there, not overpowering at all (but as other reviews note – doesn't smell like honey, more of a light floral scent). it does not weigh down my hair and if anything, i actually get a few extra days out of each wash – I'm not getting oily hair as quickly as I used to since using this. another great product in the gisou line-up! I love this product! When I first used it I was drawn in by the smell. It is so light and refreshing and I love the guava scent. I have been using this for about a week now and am loving it! I use it mostly when I get out of the shower as a detangler. After spraying it, I am easily able to brush through my curly hair, which usually has a lot of tangles. I also love that this is a heat protectant and that it doesn’t leave my hair greasy after using it. I will definitely continue using this in the future!Taywint
Does not weigh down or make my hair crunchy or stiff… very light weight. makes my Amika shampoo and conditioner work better!!! LOVE this heat protectant. great product! Thought I would hate the smell because I hate perfume but it is very subtle and faint and smells amazing!! I spray this in towel dried hair and then dry a little until my hair is somewhat dry.. then I add ORIBE split end seal… keep drying and then straighten or curl.. works great!eirolf2647
I have 2C/3A botticelli, coarse, high porosity hair that eats products and loves small proteins. This spray smells lovely and the scent lasts for quite some time (high po) like a perfume. However my hair does not like coconut of any variety and that ingredient is very drying so after a few uses, it went from shiny and lustrous to dull and knotty. This is definitely a “me thing” due to coconut sensitivity and I wish it worked out because I love the smell. I received this product as part of an incentivized campaign.threedoghouse

I’ve been using Drybar hair products for years and was excited to try the Hot Toddy hair protecting spray. Heat styling can cause so much damage so I try to protect my hair the best I can. This spray works well to protect my hair from heat damage! It features a fine mist sprayer so it doesn’t feel heavy on the hair or like I am adding too much product. The scent is nice and soft & similar to that of other Drybar products. I like that I can use this on dry hair to protect my hair every time I use my curler, straightening iron or drying brush. Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. Left my hair feeling great, nice and soft, and actually made styling my hair a lot easier. It was just the smell that turned me off. Hopefully the coconut scented one is better because I would hate to give this up. I just don't want to go around with my hair smelling like cat litter :/Hannah

First thing for all, I wish they did travel size of this, the bottle is to big to take anywhere with you and I wouldn’t be stuck now with useless products. It definitely doesn’t give me any volume! I tried all different methods of putting it in but always end up with hair even flatter. This is more hairspray that anything but in the same time doesn’t hold your hair in place. I truly don’t know why this product is even on the market as it doesn’t do nothing. I feel like I wasted money buying this as now collect dust on my shelf. Every time I use it its make my hair sticky n crunchy without any volume! Definitely one of the worst Ouai products!Agu
The best hair spray for instant crunch-free touchable texture , volume and lift . It’s a product that saves my day when I’m in need of instant volume right before a video meeting . I just bought the Dyson Corrale so I thought I’ll get a good heat protection spray. The sales associate sAw me carrying the heavy Dyson bag and said Quai always partner with Dyson. Well, that’s a good selling point. And that’s the only heat protector they have in the Raffles City store. When I sprayed it on my hair… I choked. The smell is bad. Really bad. I thought hair products always smell nice. This smell of aerosol. I was so afraid my hair will explode. It’s also a little sticky. Now, I just get a cheaper one from a pharmacy which always did wonders for my hair. Nicer smell. Non-sticky.
