I love this stuff. I spray my whole head and then brush it before I use my curling iron. It seems to help hold the curls and I don't use any other hairspray after. It's not crunchy or sticky at all. I love that it has thermal protection since I usually curl my hair. You can't even tell there's hairspray in my hair after I'm done curling. Starting with the PRO, this spray is awesome after you have styled your hair, particularly with some curls that you want to hold yet you don't want to use stiff hairspray. You could run your fingers through the curls or tousle a little bit as you spray all around your hair. It is an awesome finishing spray! However, the big Con is that it absolutely, positively is an NOT a good thermal styling spray. Some of the positive previous reviews said this product made it shiny and held either a straightener or curling iron pass over. So I sprayed it on my blowdried hair and went ahead and curled my hair with a curling iron. I didn't notice at the time, but at some point later in the day I thought I smelled burning hair. I happen to shower again later that evening and after the shower as my hair fell in my face, without a doubt it was burnt hair smell! I noticed the next morning that a large section of hair just to the right of my temple was gone, maybe an inch'ish away from the scalp! My stomach sank, my face became clammy! That feeling of horror set in. With that said, I honestly have no problem continuing to use the product as a finishing spray, because it is THAT good specifically for that purpose. I was looking for a heat protectant I could use on my fine color-treated hair that would not alter my color or cause product build-up, be sticky or tacky, and would be versatile! I wanted something I could use on damp or dry hair to protect it from heat and this product is great! I use this on damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair after I put in an anti-snap product and lightweight oil (pre-blow-dry). Before drying I spray a light even mist over my hair and comb through and section off to blow dry. The results are amazing. My style lasts beautifully, feels like silk, and second-day hair requires a slight flat iron touch up (if that for my long bangs). I have no tangling while drying or after, I have no sticky tacky feeling (which is why I hate "hair sprays") except for very few products (one from Kenra (medium hold) and one from a brand not carried by Ulta) when needed. I cannot say enough good things about this product and appreciate the advice I received from one of the Senior Stylists at the Kildeer, IL location who recommended this product. Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. I’ve been using this product for years. If I was reviewing this product a few years ago I’d give it 5 stars. As of late I’ve moved away from heat styling and accepting my natural texture. This product was my best friend for quite a-few years. After blowing out my hair I’d section out my hair and give them a healthy spraying with this spray. I never had any issues with greasiness or stickiness. My hair always looked smooth and stayed nice and soft. This definitely combats frizz and does a nice job protecting against thermal heat. The biggest issue I had with this product is the fragrance. It’s pretty heavy and sweet. It Always made me sneeze! Without fail. Obviously I put up with it, but it definitely irritated my nose. I bleached my hair twice in three days and the second day of bleaching my hair it was completely fragile to the point where I literally did not want to brush it because every time I did hair and hair would fall off and I'm talking chunks of hair. I immediately remembered about this product, because I had used it in the past and it had made wonders for me. This time it still came through for me, I bought the shampoo and conditioner along with the hair repair mask and like I said it didn't disappoint me at all. As soon as I washed my hair with it I was able to feel the difference, after brushing my hair my hairbrush would have little amount of hair. I have used it about 5-6 times since I've bleached it and my hair is starting to feel back to normal. Honestly if it wasn't for this I think my hair would have been super short by now because of all the breakage I had. I also would recommend you not washing your hair daily, allow 2-3 days in between each hair wash to let your hair rest but that's only if your hair is as bad as mine was. It's color damaged and very dry and frizzy so I either need to add curling cream to get my waves or fully blow dry it straight. I was on TIK TOK late one night, as usual, and came across a hair dresser that recommended the Verb Ghost line shampoo, well one thing led to another and I found that Ulta has a starter kit that included the shampoo, conditioner, prep, and oil. So because it was such a great deal, I ordered a kit and added their deep conditioner because who doesn't like having a deep container to try as well. While I waited 3 days for my order to arrive, I allowed my hair to get as dirty as possible. If I was going to try this line, I wanted to get the full effect on the first use. The order finally arrived and I ran to the bathroom like a giddy school girl that couldn't wait to try this product line. Let's talk packaging! It is simple but high end. To be honest, the name Ghost and it being a black bottle, is what originally won my goth little heart! The smell was about average for salon quality hair care, which is great because I knew it wasn't filled with a bunch of artificial fragrances. I did my usual lather rinse repeat, followed with the deep conditioner that I let sit for 5 mins, towel dried my hair, added a little squirt of the Verb Ghost Prep through out my whole head, combed out, then added 2 pumps of the oil to my ends. Now usually that is where I stop because I HATE blow drying my hair. But today was different and I needed the results ASAP. So I grabbed my blow out brush and started at work. The results? My hair was so healthy and shiny! It smelled so good, felt amazing, and it actually had some volume! This stuff (when used sparingly) didn't make me feel weighed down at all. And because my hair is so long, usually most products make my hair feels so heavy and feels like it left a gross film on my strands. Now I will say, don't use the Prep if you want to air dry your hair. I have done it a couple times now, and it leaves my hair kind of crunchy feeling towards the roots. I Love love love. I just used this last night and super pleased with the results. I have very fine hair and it does not weigh it down or feel greasy like others posted. It has a nice scent too. So many hair products have silicone which over time coats the hair but not allowing moisture in and can leave build up and dry hair from inside out. I created this account just to leave this review. I love this Aveda product! I have the most awful looking hair texture. The kind that looks like I stuck my finger in a light socket. Never smooth. It looks frizzy and damaged but it's not really. Just a few light sprays of this over my dry hair before a flat iron and my hair is can be transformed to spun silk! It's amazing! I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. I feel like it also helps tame the frizz, which is great for me! Overall great product, I just think that it's a bit too pricey, so I removed one star.sheryn.d

Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.
My hair has never looked so good! I love it. I use it before I curl or straighten my hair and I only use it on the last 4-5 inches of my hair. The first time I tried it, I thought it was going to be really oily but it dries as you go and leaves the hair soft and smooth, and a nice finished look. I do like this, works good when you do not over spray. Can be very greasy on finer hair types so use sparingly. A little goes a long way with this product. I even use this when I air dry hair-keeps the frizz at bay. But again I do not overdue it, tends to grease up your hair easily if I pump to many sprays or too close to my head.Lovetoshop

This came highly recommended to me so I was super disappointed when it continually left my hair gummy and sticky. I could barely get a brush through after styling! I tried a few different application techniques but couldn’t bring myself to use it more than 3 or 4 times before throwing it out. I had a bad hair day every single time I used this product and had to wash it out by the end of the day. It has a lot of positive reviews so who knows, maybe it will work for you, but I would not recommend this product if someone asked. Bought this ghd Bodyguard Heat Protect Spray because my cousin recommended it to me. I stopped using heat protect sprays because they used to be sticky and make my hair hard like hairspray. I was excited to try this one and I’m happy to report that this worked a treat. Didn’t make my hair sticky or crispy like other sprays in the market. I choose this product, as I always use heat protection spray on my hair when using my hair straighteners. The product arrived very quickly and has a stylish look about it. The spray bottle is easy to handle and use. I tried the product on my hair after it had been washed and dried, as this is when I usually use this type of product. When sprayed on my hair, I noticed that it had a lovely smell but made my hair appear wet, which I was a bit concerned about, using straighteners on damp hair. I straightening my hair in the usual way applying the spray to each section just before I straightened it. As the product made my hair damp again, I thought it would be difficult to use the straighteners on my hair, but it didn’t, they glided over my hair with ease, not causing any pulling. For the longest time now I have been struggling to find something to make my hair smooth. I live in Georgia and have medium thickness, long, straight hair. The humidity is always crazy and I always have a ton of frizziness and flyaways. This spray is an absolute miracle! My hair is soooo silky and smoothed down without feeling greasy or heavy. I wasn't modest with using it, either. I sprayed it all over my head. My hair also typically takes forever to dry and this literally cut it down to 10 minutes. I have minimal frizziness right now and it's been really rainy and humid out. I definitely recommend!!Reanna
I use this in place of/as if it's a hair oil/serum and it works better than any hair oil I've tried, and I've just about tried them all. This feels more moisturizing, repairing, smoothing and detangling than all of them, but it's also lighter and doesn't leave residue as long as you don't use way too much, whereas most hair oils either don't do enough, or if I use enough to get the benefits it leaves residue and weighs my hair down-there's no "sweet spot" middle ground. Some even do the latter without doing the former! But this stuff just leaves my hair soft, shiny, smooth and detangled without heaviness, residue, or oiliness. I can and do it it wet and dry, and when used on wet hair it cuts drying time down at least by half. The only thing is because my hair is on the fine side, I never spray it directly in my hair when using on dry hair (on wet hair sometimes I do sometimes I don't, it depends on much moisture my hair feels it needs) as it can get a little oily looking when I do so. Instead, I spray it directly in the palm of my hand, rub it in my hands and then run it through my hair, just like a regular hair oil/serum. Most oils and serums make my hair feel like it has a plastic coating left on it, even if I don't use too much and often without even leaving it feeling moisturized and soft under said coating-sometimes it even feels more dry (but still coated)! But this always just leaves my hair super soft and shiny, never coated, always clean! I also love that unlike the vast majority of hair oils, this is clear and doesn't stain your hair if it's light. A little also goes a long way and I feel like my bottle will last for ages, making it an excellent value since it's already considerably cheaper than many pro hair oils. Last thing- although this product is amazing for blow drying-don't let the name fool you! It is JUST as good for air drying and for use on already dry hair! in fact, those are the two ways in which I primarily use it since I rarely blow dry my hair. I've seen/heard this product be highly recommended throughout the internet and by both hair professionals and consumers alike for over a decade now and I completely understand why now. If this is too heavy for you, then try the Platinum Blow-Dry Mist instead of the spray. It goes on lighter. I've used both and honestly they both work for me, I tend to prefer stronger stuff, lol. Kenra has many choices for this type of product if you look over their line you can find something for your hair type. This one gets the most hype. It's multi purpose, I spray a small amount, not overdo it. I'm not crazy about the smell like many users here but I don't mind it. If I don't use too much the scent is not overpowering. This acts as a styling aid, heat protectant, cuts blow dry time and also I never need any hair smoothing oil afterwards like the bio silk, etc. which saves money. I had frizz damage on the strands of my hair from heat styling and using a curling iron. The curling iron smooths it but then causes more heat damage and it was a vicious cycle for years. But now my hair is all growing out, back to my normal straight/wavy smooth hair of my youth, thanks to not having to use the blow dryer as long or the curling iron. I use that revlon brush dryer now. Also sometimes a Bio ionic curling iron. Low heat setting. Still getting partial highlights with the Olaplex.Nena

I have purchased and repurchased the @evanyc Mane Magic 10-in-1 primer so many times. I always loved the way it gave shine to my hair and protected it from the continual blow dry. I did notice that, though it didn’t claim to, it did cut down on my dry time a smidge. I think something about the moisturizing oil ingredients helped to wick away the water. Anyway, this product does everything the Eva NYC Mane Magic does…except even better! It smells SO good. I wish I could describe the scent, but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s perfume-like without being too much. It has an excellent fine mist that makes even distribution a breeze. My hair is even shinier and less frizzy than with the Eva NYC. This product really does reduce dry time! I was blown away, lol honestly! I have very thick, full, medium length hair that typically takes a half hour to blow dry (that’s after the towel and air dry for a half hour). With this, it’s more like 15-20 minutes. That’s a huge difference for me! Also, my hair feels smoother when I use this, and I haven’t noticed any weigh down on my roots when I use this all over. I received this complimentary RedKen Styling Blowout VoxBox from Influenster and RedKen for my review. I received RedKen Quick Blowout and RedKen Big Blowout. These two work so great together! My hair has never been as straight, frizz free and shiny as it does with RedKen Quick Blowout. My dry time is cut in half with this one and I was impressed. My hair is curly/ wavy and tends to have quite a bit of frizz. If I add the RedKen Big Blowout right before my hair is dry. It gives me the instant volume, sleekness and shine I would find from flat ironing! No flat iron needed, however with the added heat protection why not 😉 My hair feels soft, smooth and looks frizz free and shiny all day. And they smell amazing! I will definitely recommend these to friends and family. It's a little on the pricey side but I would buy these products in the future! My hair is beautiful! I never write reviews, but I had to for this. This is the worst product I've ever used in my entire life. As I am writing this I'm trying to get a brush through my hair after drying it with this product. It took me twice as long to blow dry it because it just turned into one big knot. I know how primers work because I've use the L'Oreal one multiple times with no issue. This made my hair dry, knotty, and extremely hard to blow dry or straighten. I'm going to have to wash my hair again after just washing it to get this product out of my hair. I don't know what the deal is with Redken or Ulta but it seems like the Redken products that I bought from Ulta recently have been terrible. First thing for all, I wish they did travel size of this, the bottle is to big to take anywhere with you and I wouldn’t be stuck now with useless products. It definitely doesn’t give me any volume! I tried all different methods of putting it in but always end up with hair even flatter. This is more hairspray that anything but in the same time doesn’t hold your hair in place. I just bought the Dyson Corrale so I thought I’ll get a good heat protection spray. The sales associate sAw me carrying the heavy Dyson bag and said Quai always partner with Dyson. Well, that’s a good selling point. And that’s the only heat protector they have in the Raffles City store. When I sprayed it on my hair… I choked. The smell is bad. Really bad. I thought hair products always smell nice. This smell of aerosol. I was so afraid my hair will explode. It’s also a little sticky. Now, I just get a cheaper one from a pharmacy which always did wonders for my hair. Nicer smell. Non-sticky.

I purchased this product since I was looking to try a new brand of heat protectant. I really liked the scent, but I don't know that it is super effective for my hair. I found it odd that the instructions said to apply to dry hair, and I blow dry my hair so I ended up using a different heat protector on my wet hair. I used this prior to straightening my hair and it smelled good, but I guess hard to tell if it is effective since my hair still experienced the same issues with frizz/dryness that I did prior to using this. I also dislike the sprayer, it is very concentrated in one area so I ended up spraying in my hands and running through my hair so it could be evenly dispersed.abuff0916
This formula smells pretty nice and did seem to do a decent job helping to protect the hair. It added a little bit of shine as well. However, I do wish it helped to smooth the hair and control frizz better. I mostly liked to use it if I needed to refresh my hair and restyle especially if I was on second-day hair. I would spritz some product where needed and touch up with a blow dryer to smooth and style my hair again. I also used it when I needed to touch up my daughter's hair and preferred using it over plain water or a detangler spray. I'd probably only repurchase this for use on my young daughter's hair, it will be nice to protect her hair for when we have to blow dry it as well. For myself, I already have a cream that helps to smooth my hair and fight frizz better than this did, it also protects against heat. If this helped to smooth my hair and keep it frizz free I would definitely repurchase. As always the price is awesome!abq505
Like: the smell- it’s delish! Dislike: The stickiness/residue of it afterwards. If I got any on my hand, it would stick and feel not so great. Also, make sure to brush/comb your hair as soon as you spray it. I found that it kind of hardened if not brushed/combed out properly. Still trying it out- so I can’t see for sure if it’s working or not just yet. Definitely better than not using a heat protectant at all. But I’ve noticed that after I’m done drying/styling my hair, I don’t have as much frizz/fly aways- so that’s good!Target4Ever

I purchased a small bottle at Ulta recently and wasn't very impressed. It makes my hair feel weird after I straighten it (I let the product fully dry on my hair BEFORE straightening it) when I run my hands through my hair, it would feel dry, starchy, crunchy, tight, I don't know how to perfectly describe it, but I do know it's not the best feeling. I'm going to stick with the other heat protectant from this same brand, the orange and white bottle. That UV/Heat protectant isn't as watery as this one, and it is slightly heavier when sprayed, but it dries down light, and makes my hair feel so soft! Not to mention, the smell is SO much better, it lasts a long time too! The only thing this product did do was make my hair appear less frizzy and appear more shiner.Jocelyn
Fine-haired friends — use on wet hair! My hair is fine, recovering from bleach damage, and very prone to oil. I originally followed the instructions and used on dry hair, which was no bueno. It was too heavy and felt greasy. I then tried it on towel-dried hair pre-blow dry and it is AMAZING. This is my staple heat protectant spray. Love the bottle, easy to spray and it sprays in a fine mist, not making my hair overly wet with product. This product also helps with frizz and smoothens my hair , also reduces knots in my hair. I have found that this spray is effective as it has not been damaging my hair. I have been routinely blowdrying my hair currently and my hair has been healthy. Love that it is not strongly fragrance . Also love the fact that it does not weigh down my thin hair. I've been using this heat protectant for as long as it's been out now, and it's amazing! My hair has been at various lengths over the years, from all the way down to my bottom, to almost to my collar, and now I'm older so it's shoulder length. It has always worked great and I'm assuming always will! I have always had very thin oily hair, so its hard to find products that dont make it worse or weigh it down. I dont understand why people give bad reviews for a broken bottle or spilled bottle etc… it's ridiculous to give something a bad review, when it brings the points down and they haven't even used the product. Walmart is always wonderful about returning/exchanging anything that you get, even if you don't have the receipt! So people don't pay attention to the bad reviews on this!MamaD79

I discovered L'Anza shampoo through LovelySkin, so I thought I'd give this dry shampoo a try. It is another great L'Anza product. In addition to being a great dry shampoo that does not weigh down the roots where it is applied, I appreciate that it does not have a strong smell like some others do. I accidentally bought a knock off of the blow-dry spray and decided to buy the real stuff but this time I bought the blow-dry mist for fine hair. This was so heavy on my hair, too oily and waxy. It also STINKS! Maybe it sat on the shelf to long but it smells like gasoline. I preferred the knock off! It smelled WAY better and was actually lightweight. Will be returning.Jessica
Finally a product that does what it promises! I have fine hair (a lot of it with a lot of body) that has a tendency to frizz around the face area. I have hi-lights and use a flat iron… needless to say I need a protector! The problem is most products weigh down my fine hair and/or make it look greasy. Kenra Professional Platinum Blow-Dry Mist is the first product that actually enhancing the body of my hair while protecting it! Highly recommend! I ADORE the smell. It is very beachy / coconut, lasts all day. This product is GREAT for heat protection and shine / detangling. However, I have thin / fine hair and this is way too greasy / oily. I spray it far enough from my head and use very little product but it is still too oily and sadly makes my hair stringy. I would absolutely recommend this to my thicker / medium haired friends or friends with hair extensions! I will continue using the rest of the bottle cause the smell is to die for and I love getting a whiff of it throughout the day.Kateski

My hair is pretty relaxed for having natural curly mixed hair. But I am in my 40s , so unfortunately, (unlike the rest of my body) it's thinning. U don't need a whole lot, with this stuff, a little bit goes a looong way! Focus on the ends , sometimes it gets greasy! But I love how this product helps with frizziness, protects from heat & brings shine to the hair!
I don't know when or where i purchased this from. However, a few weeks ago I was going through my products and found this. I sprayed it on my hair right before drying it. I was completely amazed and so happy I found it because it made my hair so soft, light, sleek, smooth and it smells good! It didnt leave a heavy oily texture like other products do. I thought to myself, "this has gotta be a professional product from a salon." I just looked it up online because I've already used it all on myself and my daughter. A little goes a long way. I promise this product will surprise you. I can't stop touching my hair! It's so silky!!
I am absolutely obsessed with the smell of this. I have very fine hair and find it easier for me to spray some into my hands and rake it through my hair that way to get it evenly distributed without using too much, otherwise it can get greasy on me using it directly from the sprayer. Very fine mist though and considering how little you need to coat your hair, it's a really good value. I can see this bottle lasting me the rest of the year if not longer.

Lets start with the ONLY "con"- my local Ulta doesn't always have it in stock. I have very curly, somewhat frizzy hair and I live in Texas so the humidity makes my hair completely unmanageable. I recently had several inches of hair cut off, my stylist used Trilliant before she used the blow dryer and a second slight mist before straightening my hair. My hair has never looked or felt better! I wrote down what product she used on me and went directly to Ulta to pick it up. Since that day myy hair is smooth, shiny, has no frizz and when I straighten it I don't have the frazzled 'too much heat' look on the ends. I can actually run my fingers through my previously unmanageable mane! The smell is fantastic and isn't over powering like some products can be. Now I won't use anything else.aCoffeeJunky
This product is great! I use it to help protect my fine, curly, color treated, prone to breakage hair from heat tools. It is a pricey item being anywhere from $16-$19 a bottle. If I'm using it almost everyday during the week the bottle could last me 4-6 weeks. (I have long hair) Just keep that in mind when purchasing this product. I feel it's worth every penny though. I'm a low income woman but this is one product I go back to again and again. One other thing, it does feel a little sticky in your hair when you first spray it I usually spray this product in my hands and rub it in between them in order to not have that feeling as much, but after you use your hot tool that feeling goes away! I allow my hair to mostly air dry before spritzing and using a styling blow dry brush. It smells okay and works okay but is nothing to rave about. If I use too much, it can feel a bit sticky. This is not a particularly moisturizing product if that is something you need to take into consideration. The shimmer content, while observable when shaking the bottle, does not appear to do much for my hair. For the price, I definitely think I can do better. My hair is long, straight, medium density, bleached, and trends oily.Kimberlee
