I read all the good reviews and thought it would be a good buy, however when I used it it made my hair feel super snarly!! No matter how careful I was I was just breaking and pulling hair because it was so snarly! I have never had that before not even with hairspray in my hair! It felt weird like a bad hairspray and a greaser…. it was used on hair washed 4 hours prior and was fully dried…. I applied and was ready to Hot Iron my hair, but it was just snarely no matter how I brushed it, it was terrible in my hair and when I was FINALLY done hot ironing it was still just a mess and it felt gross like a film all over my hair…. I would not buy again nor would I recommend it to people I known
It smells like really strong men's cheap cologne. The smell is very masculine. My husband smelled it and even questioned why my hair smelled like a man, and I gave him the bottle to demonstrate. I'm very picky about the scents that I use, and I will be avoiding this just based on the smell. Most people who wear long hair and use a curling iron are women, so you would think a more neutral scent or something feminine would be more suitable. I bought this product because I’ve been needing heat protection for my hair. Chi is an AMAZING brand so this has to be marvelous I thought. Boy was I WRONG!! This was my first time using any kind of heat protector in my life. When I sprayed it on, it felt like hair spray. As soon as I ran my fingers through my damp hair it felt sticky and hard. I started to get bad vibes about this product right away. I ignored the red flag, and continued to blow dry my hair. My hair was a complete mess. Tangled everywhere, breaking apart. Hair was all over the place. And the hair kept getting stuck to my brush and fingers causing me to break it and creating extreme damage. I have red hair at the moment & this product definitely faded the color out. The way it looked afterwards was dry, absolutely shine less, and very brittle. The only thing it did was give me volume. That’s why I gave it two stars. It’s more like 1.5 tbh. I can name a bunch of other products that can give you volume for way less damage. For a first time heat protectant buyer. This was a no no. I love this stuff. I spray my whole head and then brush it before I use my curling iron. It seems to help hold the curls and I don't use any other hairspray after. It's not crunchy or sticky at all. I love that it has thermal protection since I usually curl my hair. You can't even tell there's hairspray in my hair after I'm done curling. Starting with the PRO, this spray is awesome after you have styled your hair, particularly with some curls that you want to hold yet you don't want to use stiff hairspray. You could run your fingers through the curls or tousle a little bit as you spray all around your hair. It is an awesome finishing spray! However, the big Con is that it absolutely, positively is an NOT a good thermal styling spray. Some of the positive previous reviews said this product made it shiny and held either a straightener or curling iron pass over. So I sprayed it on my blowdried hair and went ahead and curled my hair with a curling iron. I didn't notice at the time, but at some point later in the day I thought I smelled burning hair. I happen to shower again later that evening and after the shower as my hair fell in my face, without a doubt it was burnt hair smell! I noticed the next morning that a large section of hair just to the right of my temple was gone, maybe an inch'ish away from the scalp! My stomach sank, my face became clammy! I was looking for a heat protectant I could use on my fine color-treated hair that would not alter my color or cause product build-up, be sticky or tacky, and would be versatile! I wanted something I could use on damp or dry hair to protect it from heat and this product is great! I use this on damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair after I put in an anti-snap product and lightweight oil (pre-blow-dry). Before drying I spray a light even mist over my hair and comb through and section off to blow dry. The results are amazing. My style lasts beautifully, feels like silk, and second-day hair requires a slight flat iron touch up (if that for my long bangs). I have no tangling while drying or after, I have no sticky tacky feeling (which is why I hate "hair sprays") except for very few products (one from Kenra (medium hold) and one from a brand not carried by Ulta) when needed. I cannot say enough good things about this product and appreciate the advice I received from one of the Senior Stylists at the Kildeer, IL location who recommended this product. Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. I’ve been using this product for years. If I was reviewing this product a few years ago I’d give it 5 stars. As of late I’ve moved away from heat styling and accepting my natural texture. This product was my best friend for quite a-few years. After blowing out my hair I’d section out my hair and give them a healthy spraying with this spray. I never had any issues with greasiness or stickiness. My hair always looked smooth and stayed nice and soft. This definitely combats frizz and does a nice job protecting against thermal heat. The biggest issue I had with this product is the fragrance. It’s pretty heavy and sweet. It Always made me sneeze! Without fail. Obviously I put up with it, but it definitely irritated my nose. I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. I have NATURAL HAIR. I have 3C curls. I typically don’t straighten my hair, it’s usually in it’s natural form. I’ve tested out a couple of products over the years, but many have failed to work. A lot of products tend to weigh my hair down and make it oil rather quickly. I purchased this product off of a single review written by a person of color. I hadn’t seen any accept one. I sectioned my hair and applied the product in dime size amounts to sections of my hair, distributing it with a denman brush. I used my Dyson blow dryer to straighten in and then the magic actually happened when the flat iron came into play. I really saw how effective the product was. It was smooth, flowing, and extremely shiny. I only applied a dime size amount of Olaplex before straightening and the Kérastase did all the magic actually. Let me start with, if you use a blow dry brush, this product is AMAZING! Blow dry brushes speed up the drying process, but they are incredibly drying. I hadn't found a product until now that kept my hair from feeling dry after using the brush. Kerastase left my hair feeling soft and hydrated. This is my staple heat protectant spray. Love the bottle, easy to spray and it sprays in a fine mist, not making my hair overly wet with product. I've been using this heat protectant for as long as it's been out now, and it's amazing! My hair has been at various lengths over the years, from all the way down to my bottom, to almost to my collar, and now I'm older so it's shoulder length. It has always worked great and I'm assuming always will! I have always had very thin oily hair, so its hard to find products that dont make it worse or weigh it down. I dont understand why people give bad reviews for a broken bottle or spilled bottle etc… it's ridiculous to give something a bad review, when it brings the points down and they haven't even used the product. I was so excited to get this to use with my LeDuo360 and LeVolume, but first spray and…I smell ALCOHOL?1? Yes, the first ingredient is Alcohol. WHY? Yes, it says karatin infused (9th ingredient) and other goodies, but alcohol? Two types of alcohol in this! So my already dry hair will not be getting a dosing of a more drying ingredient. I am very confused by the rave reviews when this clearly SMELLS like alcohol and also evaporates like alcohol, so HOW is it helping the hair?? My hair has never felt healthier in all my years of using protectants. Joico is a fantastic brand, and IronClad was phenomenal. Their new Hero with added shine is still difficult for me to adjust. I have long thick wavy hair that gets dry easy. I wash with all soft redken brand shampoo/conditioner. While wet, I add "United" Redken all over and I normally let it air dry (blow drying works fine too) I use hot tools at its highest setting (450) to straighten my hair. I would take sections, spray iron clad directly on my hair and style, and immediately after, my hair felt soft, light and never did more with it. Just perfect. Hero adds a gloss that makes your hair feel heavier in the beginning. I've adjusted by using less, spraying further away, but the results are the same. It's like my hair has to dry all over again. I still recommend this product since they no longer make my beloved IronClad. But just be warned, if you don't have dry hair, this will make your hair appear oily. I have purchased and repurchased the @evanyc Mane Magic 10-in-1 primer so many times. I always loved the way it gave shine to my hair and protected it from the continual blow dry. I did notice that, though it didn’t claim to, it did cut down on my dry time a smidge. I think something about the moisturizing oil ingredients helped to wick away the water. Anyway, this product does everything the Eva NYC Mane Magic does…except even better! It smells SO good. I wish I could describe the scent, but I can’t put my finger on it. It’s perfume-like without being too much. It has an excellent fine mist that makes even distribution a breeze. My hair is even shinier and less frizzy than with the Eva NYC. This product really does reduce dry time! I was blown away, lol honestly! I have very thick, full, medium length hair that typically takes a half hour to blow dry (that’s after the towel and air dry for a half hour). With this, it’s more like 15-20 minutes. That’s a huge difference for me! Also, my hair feels smoother when I use this, and I haven’t noticed any weigh down on my roots when I use this all over. I received this complimentary RedKen Styling Blowout VoxBox from Influenster and RedKen for my review. I received RedKen Quick Blowout and RedKen Big Blowout. These two work so great together! My hair has never been as straight, frizz free and shiny as it does with RedKen Quick Blowout. My dry time is cut in half with this one and I was impressed. My hair is curly/ wavy and tends to have quite a bit of frizz. If I add the RedKen Big Blowout right before my hair is dry. It gives me the instant volume, sleekness and shine I would find from flat ironing! No flat iron needed, however with the added heat protection why not 😉 My hair feels soft, smooth and looks frizz free and shiny all day. And they smell amazing! As I am writing this I'm trying to get a brush through my hair after drying it with this product. It took me twice as long to blow dry it because it just turned into one big knot. I know how primers work because I've use the L'Oreal one multiple times with no issue. This made my hair dry, knotty, and extremely hard to blow dry or straighten. I purchased this product since I was looking to try a new brand of heat protectant. I really liked the scent, but I don't know that it is super effective for my hair. I found it odd that the instructions said to apply to dry hair, and I blow dry my hair so I ended up using a different heat protector on my wet hair. I used this prior to straightening my hair and it smelled good, but I guess hard to tell if it is effective since my hair still experienced the same issues with frizz/dryness that I did prior to using this. I also dislike the sprayer, it is very concentrated in one area so I ended up spraying in my hands and running through my hair so it could be evenly dispersed.abuff0916
This formula smells pretty nice and did seem to do a decent job helping to protect the hair. It added a little bit of shine as well. However, I do wish it helped to smooth the hair and control frizz better. I mostly liked to use it if I needed to refresh my hair and restyle especially if I was on second-day hair. I would spritz some product where needed and touch up with a blow dryer to smooth and style my hair again. I also used it when I needed to touch up my daughter's hair and preferred using it over plain water or a detangler spray. I'd probably only repurchase this for use on my young daughter's hair, it will be nice to protect her hair for when we have to blow dry it as well. For myself, I already have a cream that helps to smooth my hair and fight frizz better than this did, it also protects against heat. Like: the smell- it’s delish! Dislike: The stickiness/residue of it afterwards. If I got any on my hand, it would stick and feel not so great. Also, make sure to brush/comb your hair as soon as you spray it. I found that it kind of hardened if not brushed/combed out properly. Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.

The shipping took forever. Literally, a month. I’m not sure if I chose the right things for my hair or if I just honestly don’t like them. The tops of the shampoo and conditioner bottles are poorly designed and hard to squeeze. In two attempts to wash my hair I had to squeeze so hard that when it did come out half the bottle sprayed onto my wall and was wasted. I didn’t expect it to help with flakiness much but it didn’t work for making my scalp less itchy either. I ADORE the smell. It is very beachy / coconut, lasts all day. This product is GREAT for heat protection and shine / detangling. However, I have thin / fine hair and this is way too greasy / oily. I am absolutely obsessed with the smell of this. I have very fine hair and find it easier for me to spray some into my hands and rake it through my hair that way to get it evenly distributed without using too much, otherwise it can get greasy on me using it directly from the sprayer. Very fine mist though and considering how little you need to coat your hair, it's a really good value. I can see this bottle lasting me the rest of the year if not longer.

I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. The only single drawback is the scent, I wish it was less peachy and last shorter. Not to my liking anyway. I would definitely recommend this product for someone who wants to improve the look and the feel of their hair using heat treatments.DafDaf
I really enjoyed the shampoo from this line, but I feel the conditioner & smoothing cream are too heavy for my hair type. I shampoo and style my hair once a week and with the use of this product I had to shampoo after 2 days due to itchy scalp and just overall weighing my hair down. I use another high end line smoothing creams and I can go 6-7 days without shampooing. I’m all about that dry shampoo life. This product smells great and my hair looked amazing right after I blowed it out and it definitely did smooth my hair out, I just didn’t like the weighing of my hair down after 2 days. This was the first time I purchased this. Im so impressed with L'Oreal products, like hair color, facial creams, shampoo I thought I would try it. Amazing humidity resistant hair straightening, blowdry treatment. Keeps my 60 year old color treated red hair looking 20. LOVE IT! It makes your hair so silky and if I curl it, it takes the curl fine. Be carefully to use a slight mist since the product goes a long way. It also can make vynil floors slick. I mist my hair now in small pumps or over a carleted area. This stuff is the best!flor.a
I bleached my hair twice in three days and the second day of bleaching my hair it was completely fragile to the point where I literally did not want to brush it because every time I did hair and hair would fall off and I'm talking chunks of hair. I immediately remembered about this product, because I had used it in the past and it had made wonders for me. This time it still came through for me, I bought the shampoo and conditioner along with the hair repair mask and like I said it didn't disappoint me at all. As soon as I washed my hair with it I was able to feel the difference, after brushing my hair my hairbrush would have little amount of hair. I have used it about 5-6 times since I've bleached it and my hair is starting to feel back to normal. Honestly if it wasn't for this I think my hair would have been super short by now because of all the breakage I had. I also would recommend you not washing your hair daily, allow 2-3 days in between each hair wash to let your hair rest but that's only if your hair is as bad as mine was. So, I bought this on a whim, right before a long trip because I’ve been wanting a good heat protector when I blow dry and straighten my hair. I think I may have used waaaay too much because my hair was sticky after blow dying it 😭. My hubby and I were going out to a nice dinner and I had no time to rewash it, girl, I was sooooo pissed lol. I had to spray a bunch of dry shampoo in it because it was so sticky and looked like it was 1 week old. I’m hesitant to use it again and I can’t return it because I threw away my receipt arrrrrg. I have fine AND thin 3a hair, medium length, medium porosity. It's prone to breakage, tangles, and easily weighed down. I needed a heat protectant that would work on both my curls, and my blowouts. Previously I had used the Curlsmith miracle shield, but it left my hair feeling and looking extremely greasy. Though I initially expected this primer to be a spray, I like the pump because I can really control the amount of product and work it through my hair. The smell is nice and light and doesn't give me a headache. For my curls, I like to pair this with the Innersense hair love, and for my blowouts I find this works perfectly on its own. My hair feels soft, looks shiny, but isn't weighed down at all. This also helps detangle my hair before styling. The price is a steal compared to other brands, and I will definitely repurchase.Jill
I love Pacifica brand and currently use and have used alot of there body products, skincare products but this is my first hair product Ive tried. I have type 2a hair, blonde bayalage colored treated and work really hard to keep my hair healthy looking. I'm all about this brand and what they stand for and I love the fact they are cruelty-free and all vegan ingredients with no harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrance. After shampoo & conditoner I used 3 pumps on towel dried hair mid lengths lightly up to scalp massaging in hair BEFORE combing and followed up with my Verb Ghost Oil on top for added protection then blow dried hair…and OMGGGGG my hair is the softest, smoothest looking, so shiney and no frizz and the best I think I've ever seen. I have coarse, thick curly hair and blow drying always makes my hair crazy poofy and dry. I decided to try a different heat protectant and purchased this. My hair has never been so soft, smooth and shiny after blow drying. I'm in absolute awe!! I'm recommending this to all of my friends and will most defiantly repurchase! I only needed one pump for my hair so I know it will last a long time.
