Best Home Air Filter For Pets (2023 Update)

Our fur animals (a friendly feline and fur baby pup) are part of our family, however, we also have friends/family over frequently simply to visit or spend a few days with us. We were looking for something that would help our friends and family who have sensitive allergens to not experience any adverse reactions to our fur animals when visiting us and/or spending the evening with us. We found that with the Levoit Pet Care True HEPA Air Purifier our fur animals, friends, and family can harmoniously co-exist with no adverse reactions! We were so elated when we got this for multiple reasons. When we have visitors, we move the air purifier in the guest bedroom, and our guests have commented on, first, how quiet it is, and secondly, what an amazing night of sleep they've experienced. Love the 3-fan speeds that tackles any odors we might have in our home. Its size makes it convenient to "hide" yet be effective in any room, yet it circulates air in the entire room. I had never heard of the "QuietKEAP" technology before, but after doing research on it, I can clearly see how it makes this Levoit Pet Care True HEPA Air Purifier one of the best by not just extending the life of my product but also (and most importantly) reducing noise when it runs. I recently moved into my first apartment, and my neighbors (even though it’s not allowed) would smoke in their apartment. The smell would come through my vents and made EVERYTHING smell smokey. My clothes smelled, my furniture, the whole (1bd) place just reeked. My amazing mother looked at every purifier out there and this one had the best results and reviews! She soon ordered it for me, and now my apartment actually smells like my scentsy, my clothes smell clean, my furniture is “frebreezy” for longer! I absolutely love it! This has been the best purchase for my apartment since I started planning! This is most definitely not a necessity, but I would say the only down side is not being able to set it for a routine or be able to turn it off or on without going to it and tapping the top. I suffer from severe allergies 365 days a year. I placed my purifier in my bedroom and set it for 8 hrs when I go to sleep. I have been using it for about a month and have noticed a dramatic difference in my breathing in the morning. I don't wake up full of congestion or sneezing. I bought a Levoit 400S and 2 smaller Winix units at Home Depot. The Levoit 400S is excellent and the controls and features are nice. I like the particulate counter and the easy to understand air quality ring indicators. The unit is very quiet at low speeds but still moves a good amount of air. Also excels at removing cooking odors. The 2 Winix units I was not so pleased with. They were noisier and one was vibrating excessively; from a mechanical viewpoint that is a bad sign. So I replaced both Winix with the Levoit 400S, now I have 3 and I am very pleased. Of course the local Home Depot having the 400S on sale for $99.99 also helped. I researched the Levoit brand and was sold on all of the positive reviews and awards. This all started with me viewing the Hunter HP450 on HSN; I feel like I got a much better product in the form of the Levoit 400S. I don’t mind the bigger size 400S for the bedrooms they are so good and quiet they are worth making room for. But of corse if that is an issue Levoit has a smaller unit that I am sure is just as excellent.Old Salty

I have a Core 400S in a bedroom no bigger than 215sq/ft. According to the US EPA on air quality. 0-15µg/m³ is consider "Very Good/Good" But the unit will allow the µg/m³ to get as high as 40µg/m³ before going to Fan Speed 1. Even when it is in Fan Speed 1, it can never get it down, but maintain within that range. They need to fix or reprogram their logic and keep the fan up high enough to bring the level down to >15µg/m³. I have an Airthings View Plus that monitor the same room (across the room from the air purifier) to cross check. It is only in Fan Speed 3 or Turbo where it can keep the PM2.5 level under 15µg/m³. This is my second Levoit air purifier that I bought just days after getting their H133. I was so amazed by the performance of the larger unit that I decided to get the 200S for my bedroom and it definitely lived up to my very high expectations of Levoit products. Let me highlight some of the strengths and weaknesses of the 200S. Design (9/10): This little thing is the perfect size to set on a nightstand, countertop or bookshelf. Unlike most air purifiers, it is actually nice to look at too and almost looks like more of a piece of modern art than a machine. The top of the device contains the control pad, and also serves as the vent where the clean air comes out of. The control pad also houses the night light, which creates a warm glow when turned on. The bottom of the unit houses the filter and has small holes around the entire machine to allow air to enter the filter. The only thing I wish it had is some small indentions or handles on the side to make it easier to carry. You definitely don't want to drop this thing. Noise (10/10): As you can see, I have this unit right on my nightstand next to my bed. On sleep mode, you don't even know the thing is on. On low, it is barely audible which is what I leave it on during the night. Medium and high are louder though but also that's to be expected. Performance (100/10): The rating is not a typo. Here is where this thing really shines. I use this purifier in conjunction with my H133 and my breathing at night has never been better. The purifier catches all kinds of dust and impurities that are easy to see when you take the filter out for regular cleaning. The air quality in my small, stuffy bedroom is now clean and since the fan is so effective, the air is no longer stuffy as well. Features (9/10): 3 fan speeds, a timer, a night light and smart home integration. This purifier can be controlled from anywhere and has almost all the features you need. The only thing I would recommend for future models is an auto mode similar to what they have on their larger purifiers, where the machine can automatically detect changes in air quality and turn the fan up or down depending. Ease of use/cleaning (10/10): Operating the unit is as simple as turning it on from the app or on the top of the unit itself. The timer feature can be set to 2 hour intervals on the device or any time you want on the app. Cleaning couldn't be easier as you just slip the filter out of the bottom weekly and either wipe or vacuum the dust off the surface of the filter and put it back in. Overall (9.8/10): Overall, this unit performs exactly as you'd expect a Levoit product to perform and that's a lot to say. The only points taken off are for the lack of an "auto mode" and also needing some handles/grip tape to make it easier to pick up and move around. It is well built for easy operation and the aesthetically pleasing design allows you to put it just about anywhere as it is not an eyesore to look at in the slightest. The machine itself works incredibly well in purifying the air to where I can now sleep well through the night and wake up breathing easily instead of having congestion. Couple good performance with an easy to use interface and simple cleaning instructions, and you get one high-quality air purifier that will meet all your needs.cmlin

Since we live in a climate that is cold for several months at a time this was something we needed. Even in the summer it is generally so hot out we do not always have the windows open for long periods of time either. This has made the living room air so much nicer. My living room is 12 x 20 ft and there is an open doorway directly to the kitchen leading to the back part of the house. Since the air flows so freely from one end of the house to the other I have noticed a big difference in the kitchen and the back hallway as well. This totally eliminated smoke and dusty or stale air very quickly. I am totally thrilled and impressed. The controls are simple buttons on the top. You have your on/off button, three fan speeds that you toggle through by pushing the button multiple times, Ionizer on/off, uv-c on/off, a timer button that has four settings (2,4,8, & 12) hours that you can at any time turn the timer off by pressing the timer button until the led's are not lit, and the nightlight button. Without a time selected on the timer it just runs in regular mode until you turn it off manually. The nightlight is pretty neat it lights a ring around the entire diameter of the air purifier. It does not take up a lot of room, it is about 22 inches high by 8.25 inches wide. One of my personal favorite features is the oil tray. It is a small pull-out drawer that holds small pads for using essential oils. I immediately ordered lavender oil so I could test this out because I love lavender scent. The air purifier came with three oil pads and doing the research they aren't costly to get more. The instructions say to use 5-7 drops of oil on the pad (use more or less according to preference) which easily fits in its space in the oil tray. I noticed on low fan speed the scent isn't as noticeable so medium worked well for me when I really wanted to scent the air a little quicker. It comes with a nice instruction book that also shows you how to do a monthly little vacuum clean of the inside HEPA Filter which it does recommend replacing every 12 months with normal usage conditions. We do have a cat so this should also help dander in the air as well. It also recommends how to clean the bottom of the oil tray that the pad sits in too. All in all, I am very happy with this is already notice such a good improvement in the air quality inside our house! I would definitely recommend it!Katsy

It’s great for pet dander and odors along with allergens and dust. It is also equipped with UV-C light technology to eliminate 99.99% of bacteria and viruses! It also has an ionizer to remove dust more easily out of the air. The UV-C and Ionizer can be turned on or off from the top of the air purifier. The Homedics Total Clean Pet Plus 5 in 1 air purifier also has a 3 speed fan that runs very quiet on speeds 1 and 2. Even the 3rd or highest speed runs quieter than I would have expected. It is equipped with a automatic shut off timer that can be set for 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours. Although, the unit will stay on if no automatic timer setting is selected. It also has a night light that can be turned off or on and a replace filter indicator light. All these controls are located on top of the unit for easy access. Measures: 22 ¼” tall x 9 ¼” wide in the middle The white plug in core measures 72” (6 feet) from the wall plug to the machine itself. Sounds – this is surprisingly quiet! Silent on level one. Like a white noise machine on level 2. Level 3 is like a window air conditioner unit noise. Easy touch – no buttons on the top. Easy to see the buttons with the glow at night. The air circulates about every 12 ½ minutes through the room. We use this in our primary bedroom which is 15 feet x 15 feet. According to the box, one machine works great in this amount of space. Any larger room, like a family room, one might consider using two machines. My spouse appreciated the UV effects to purify and reduce bacteria in the air. The side has an easy push open drawer for the scented oil pad option. Two clean cotton-like pads are included. My favorite part is the nightlight ring!!! What a fun addition and really useful. It’s brighter than the wall plug in nightlight but no too bright. Love it! We’ve slept with this machine for about a week. When initially starting, I was sneezing a lot! I purchased my Pure Zone Elite approximately 6 months ago after looking at several competitive products. Because I have COPD and needed to really improve the air quality in my home, the Pure product appeared to have the most capability. I have been so blessed to have this product in my home. Before I knew about the pure enrichment four in one HEPA filter air purifier, my home was dealing with a lot of unknown things. I purchased the Germ Guardian AC5250PT 28” 3-in-1 True HEPA Filter Air Purifier for my home because I noticed mold in my apartment and dust bunnies everywhere when I clean. I could only imagine what I was breathing into my lungs. I was a bit hesitant with this particular product and I'll tell you why. While reading the reviews to decide which air purifier I was going to buy I was a bit leary of the quality of this product. I don't know if they improved this product over time or perhaps the other reviewers were just a bit critical. It's a fan that gives off a white noise type of sound which is quite low actually. In comparison to my ceiling fan it's not as"loud" as some have reported. and my ceiling fan is quiet. When I have my television on I don't even hear the air purifier. I have had this unit turned on since it arrived about a week ago and there's not one thing that I can complain about concerning this air purifier. I love exotic foods and this fan takes care of odors nicely…even the odors associated with my three Yorkies. The directions are easy to follow and I even went through the process of seeing how difficult it would be to take the unit apart to clean and change filters…and I'm a fifty nine year old disabled Marine Corps veteran with arthritis. When I turn the lights out to sleep it does give a slight blue glow from the blue UV light with a red light for the power. If the red light bothers you, just put a small piece of electrical tape over the dot and you're all set. All in all…I simply love this Germ Guardian AC5250PT 28” 3-in-1 True HEPA Filter Air Purifier for Home and Pets…. I sleep easier at night and even use my inhaler less often. I have been using the PureZone 3-in-1 filter for the past two weeks, and so far have been very content with the purchase. I have been sleeping better since keeping it by my bed. Typically, I run it on high during the day, and then turn it on to sleep/low when I go to bed. The low speed is very quiet (if I didn't feel the airflow I wouldn't have known it was on) and the sleep feature to turn off the indicator lights is key. The one thing I would change would be to allow the other speeds during the sleep function. The medium speed is also very quiet, and so it would be nice to have the increased airflow at night without the bright light. Other than that minor concern, I am happy with the air filter and how it has been improving my breathing.Liz K

I like that the quiet mode is very quiet. (light sleeper). I like the design. Sleek and contemporary. Simple controls. Simple is good! Just right size for the bedroom. So overall, great! I woudl recommend having different lights on the panel so as to avoid making the ceiling look like the aurora borealis is having a blue light special/hollywood opening. Maybe redesign for opaque dimmer lights (wider lights, lower brightness) . Also maybe include a 24 timer feature, so, for example, it would turn on from 8 pm to midnight every day.Jeff321

Low speed is very quiet, I use high speed at night and it puts me to sleep, works well with Alexa but also very easy to just push the buttons. No timer but that's fine, my old one had a timer and I found sometimes in the mornings when it was off I got up too soon.ssala

I live in an average-sized NYC apartment. In the master bedroom and my son's room, we've been using Rabbit Air Minus A2 purifiers. The one in master bedroom has been active for over 10 years and while it's worked well, it leaves a lot of dust on the surrounding walls and furniture because of a built-in ionizer that can't be turned off. We've been locked down over the past year due to COVID-19 restrictions and over the past month or so, my wife's and son's allergies have been acting up when we're in the living room with one of the windows every so slightly open. Our finances being what they are, I was hesitant to get another RabbitAir purifier but I was leaning heavily in that direction because I didn't think I had a choice. THEN, I saw an ad for Mila in facebook feed. I read everything I could on the Mila site and I was convinced it was the filter for us. The onboard sensors and the info they provide are pretty amazing! It is obviously above and beyond what the RabbitAir could tell us. We've had it running in the living room for over two weeks now and it's made a huge difference for my wife and son. The sneezing and coughing has basically stopped. There's noticeably less dust accumulating on furniture. We also know how 'dirty' the air in the hallway is as every time the front door is opened, Mila detects a spike in particulates. I like how there's a big selection of filters to suit your particular needs. We went with the Overreactor. Filter changes are much easier than with the RabbitAir. While I like the general design of the Mila unit. I do wish it was available in different colors. Furthermore, I think it would've been great if all the panels were removable/replaceable for cleaning purposes as well as aesthetics. The ability to 'skin' Mila with other colors, perhaps even printed patterns/images would be fun, eg. Charlie Brown/Snoopy graphics wrapping all around the unit for a baby's room. I also wish the master On/Off switch was in the front. Our original Mila unit turned out to have a faulty presence sensor. I engaged the support team and they confirmed that the sensor was indeed faulty. I was shipped a new unit and was allowed to keep the faulty one running until the new one arrived. That process was easy and painless. The great support, aesthetics, easy filter replacement and wonderful app are the reasons why we'll be phasing out our two RabbitAirs for two Mila's in the very near future.Kerwin

My allergies got worse when we got our corgi puppy a few months back, and I was worried we'd have to make him sleep in another room. Then came Mila to the rescue! I also love that the app educates you on what's in your air and how to avoid contaminating it. I'm allergic to dust mites and mold, so this information is critical to my health. Not only do they do an incredible job cleaning the air, but every time I walk past my Mila it puts a smile on my face with the hilarious messages! This compact, four sided air intake filter gives me peace of mind. Know that the UV-C light and the HEPA and active carbon dual filters are cleaning my home from my cat’s hair, candles and cooking and whatever else is floating around. Its a simple, classic look that that I can put on the floor or on a table. There’s a timer/night mode and you can change the fan speed. One and two are very quiet, three and four have a strong fan sound. If you had kids, the night light and lockable feature would be useful. Having the pre filters washable is nice, there’s a light that lets you know when it’s time to replace the filter so you don’t have to guess. Being able to breath in fresh and clean air makes a huge difference, I’ve been sleeping better.Styleneeds

I was a bit reluctant to spend 300.00 on an air purifier but the reviews were so encouraging I went for it. I’m not disappointed. The unit arrived in good timing packaged in a thick box keeping it safe. From box to usage was easy. Just plug it in. Press the button on the left on top to start it. For me the hardest part was deciding where in the house to put it. Finally decided on the living room and it’s perfect in there being it’s the largest area in the house. I live in a 1600 SF home. I turn it on first thing in the morning and keep it on speed 3 for a few hours which is just enough time to purify the air for the day. I have a small dog and it seems to get rid of that lingering doggie smell. Honestly, it’s a tad bit noisy on the higher levels but nothing you can’t mask with a TV or music. I have had this cuisinart air purifier for about three weeks. It has made a huge difference with dust and pollen and providing much better air quality. Just received the PureZone Mini Portable Air Purifier. The is exactly what I have been looking for at a really good price. The small size is extremely convenient for me as I plan to use it while traveling. It fits perfectly in my car cup holder, and also in the side pocket of my backpack. I can be easily disguised as a water bottle! It has three speeds for your personal comfort level. The fan is relatively quiet depending on the setting. I was impressed that on a full charge the portable purifier ran for around 8 hours on the medium setting, so technically overnight. Upon receiving this item, I was a little hesitant towards the amount of air that it can purify since it is very small, but it has been very good. I decided to add it to my baby registry because of the current pandemic and it’s usefulness because of it being rechargeable and portable. I attach it to my newborn’s carseat when leaving and it does give me some peace of mind knowing that the air is getting clean around him. I would recommend this product 100% for anyone needing a portable air purifier during this current pandemic. I also love the 3 different fan levels for when we are in public and the battery life is very good. I have been using this mini air purifier for about a month now and I think it's made a difference! I bought it for a small closet where I keep a litter box for my cats, and also store other items. The cat box tends to create dust and there is also a smell that can be a little unpleasant and gets absorbed by the items I keep in there. Ever since I started using the air purifier, the dust has decreased and the air smells fresher. In addition, I can easily transport and use the mini air purifier in other spaces. It lasts a good long time in the closet (I use it every evening and recharge it in the mornings) and it doesn't take a super long time to recharge to full power. The charging cord (USB-C) is the same type of cord that my cell phone uses, so that makes it very convenient. I don't have to unplug and replug the cord–I can just use it with my phone or the air purifier as needed. All in all, I am happy with this purchase.SC

We received this unit about 2 days ago and there is a noticeable difference in the air that we breathe in our home. We are currently using this air purifier on the first floor of our home and it does an amazing job removing everyday dust and pollen and removing those strong food smells from our kitchen area. So, lets go over the features, PROS and CONS of the Levoit PlasmaPro 600S True HEPA Air Purifier. Setup: The setup process for the Levoit PlasmaPro is rather simple. Before you begin to use the unit, you need to twist the top portion off and remove the plastic off the HEPA filter. Simply place the filter back in and you are ready to go. But, if you would like to be able to control the unit, then I would highly recommend that you download the accompanying VeSync app. To sync your machine with the app, you simply hold down the power button for 5 seconds until the WIFI symbol on the unit starts to blink and it should connect. If you like, you can also connect the unit to either Alexa or to your Google Eco System. Now, you can control your unit from anywhere and also with a simple voice command. Your unit is ready to go. Features: Unit Specs -12.5 X 12.5 X 24 – 14lbs This air purifier can be used for large room up 1500 sq. ft, but in the room that large the purifier will only clean and recirculate the air twice per hour, which is still not bad. Our first floor is about 850 to 900 sq. ft, so we estimate that it is cleaning and recirculating the air about 3 to 4 times per hour. PlasmaPro – So this is something new for me and I have yet to see on any air purifier. This thing is astonishing. I have a high powered humidifier in an area with bad water so I get the white dust all over the place. I bought the biggest thing they had on the shelves and I am more than impressed. 635sqft? Try whole house – it brought my entire large house (6200sqft with high ceilings) down from 900+ to under 10 in just a few hours. I couldn't believe it, so I tried it out all over the house and it was under 10 everywhere. It can handle the fine white dust very easily. Once it got it clean, I just put it in Auto mode and it takes care of erything – I'm at 1 ug/m^3 all the time now. Once the air is clean, it doesn't have to come on that much so it makes zero noise. The lowest setting is super quiet anyway. Highest moves a lot of air but you won't need to be on that setting for very long. Beyond that, the Wifi control is useful – it leverages some 3rd party app called VeSync. Note: The Android setup process has a flaw: it doesn't tell you to press the fan button for 5 seconds to go into bluetooth pairing mode – Apple version worked perfectly the first time. I have been using the Levoit Plasma Pro 600s for about a week now. I have dogs and cats, so that means a lot of dander from them. My seasonal allergies have just started acting up this week also. With that being said.. This air purifier has helped a lot. I haven't been sneezing as much as I was. I have also noticed that my house isn't as dusty as it was before getting this machine. I like that it has an auto feature for the fan speed. It has a wifi feature to connect to smart devices and and app. The app can be downloaded to control the machine. I have used Amazon Alexa to control it without any issues. There is a schedule that can be setup for the machine to use. The fan speed can be manually turned up or down. Which I great for that little extra burst of fresh air though the house when it's needed. The fan is a bit loud when it's on high but nothing that makes it hard to hear others in the room or that would wake a sleeping baby. The colored dial on the top let's you know what the air quality is in the area that it is placed in.Holly W

I am absolutely blown away by three and one air purifier that I had to write a review that I normally don’t ever take the time to do. I had a number of reasons to get this, so I’m hoping by writing this and help someone else I have a lung disease which is lupus and scleroderma and anterior long disease and actually just got out of the hospital so every little bit in health I’ll see if I don’t realize that even if our home is extremely clean and sterile, our air isn’t perfectly clean, not only does this serve as an air purifier. It has a heater in the fan so many amazing features. I can’t believe it. air purifier mode the device analyzes the air quality and displays it as a percentage and then starts purifying. As the device purifies more and more air, the percentage increases until it reaches one hundred which is indicative that the air is completely purified. It does this quickly and very quietly, in case of use at night, you can turn off the display light and only remains on the power button. In the upper part of the air purifier is its remote control that is curiously round and works very well, if you want you can leave it placed in the device or remove it to take it with you. The device can be controlled almost entirely with the remote, except to change the mode between fan/heater and air purifier only, because it has an button to choose between the two!!! I love that I can put it on fan or heater and she is the temperature not only that it goes from 1 to 6 so you can enjoy an intensive or intense cold or just a very low comfortable setting, but you get to do everything yourself from the ease of a remote. My air is so much cleaner, and I’ve seen a difference in my lungs and breathing to. I have been able to go down on my oxygen, which in itself is such a miracle? I highly recommend this to anyone even if you don’t have any issues. I have small children and it helps reduce colds. We’ve seen a reduce in sicknesses this season when the rest of the world around us has had the flu and colds. It really does terrifying. Claire show me without it. This is my third air purifier of varying price levels and this by far has the most features. The heater function is a first for me and works great. The level of detail showing on the unit for PMI 2.5/PMI 10, overall air quality (among others) is fantastic. It will light yellow, red or green depending on air quality in room as well. The fan levels and the rotating feature work fantastic as well. This would be a 5 star, because the features and product are really amazing, but there is one major flaw. You cannot control the unit without the remote. The remote will attach magnetically to the top and you can keep it there always but if you lose the remote, you cant actually control any aspect of the unit besides turning it on. This is a major risk and clearly that was an after thought. The same goes for if it breaks. The remote is also a little difficult to use sometimes as the IR is not the best and when rotating it won't register the action. Overall the unit is the best i've ever had with the caveat of the risk of losing the remote (or it breaking).Ninjago17

This air purifier makes your home have a different feel, like it smells different or like a clean feel all around.. Makes awesome quality air, I never had one before. As the pandemic waned and things have settled, notice how clean my house was in the fact there are no dust bunnies or dust in general on the crown molding or counter tops. I also can tell a big difference when I clean my air filters in my Central AC. My house has just a clean fresh smell throughout. My allergies have improved and I just feel overall better and I really think it has to do with better quality air. When I got it out of the box I started running it in the rum and sure enough, the Shark sniffed out the air and kicked into high gear and had the air cleaned up in no time. It has an auto mode that noticed the poor air quality and the Shark ramped up the cleaning and took off like a jet. After about 15 minutes or so it began to cycle down to a silent whisper after it had done its job and I mean whisper quite…like lean in and listen quite! nice. It also also have eco friendly mode. After 10 minutes of good air quality, it kicks into an eco-mode which really prolongs the filter life and is super super quiet! The filter should last 6-12 months. I received a Honeywell Bluetooth Smart HEPA Air Purifier, and I really like it! I love that it has lots of different settings. I can set it for different lengths of time I want it to run. I really like that I can set it for either germ, allergen, or general clean. Turbo is the loudest setting, but it is not as loud as I thought it would be. It is pleasant and not overbearing or anything. The only thing I find that could be improved is the material it is made of. The plastic seems a bit flimsy, and I’m worried it might crack or break eventually if it gets bumped pretty hard. It just seems pretty light for how big it is. I'm very happy with my purchase. I've had more expensive air cleaners that didn't have the intake & cleaning power that this one has. It's well designed and easy to handle. The filters are easy to access and change. The HEPA filter is thick which in turn provides good filtration! The control panel is simple and sleek. It has every feature I want including easy to find replacement filters. But the most important feature is it's air cleaning power. Noise level is about a 5 out of 10. I started it out in the living room and could not hear it with the TV on at a low volume. But when I moved it into the BR I could definitely hear it. But it's still a keeper for me! This air purifier is amazing, not only does it clean the air but it makes the air smell great. The app is very easy to use I was able to use it with my Android phone but it will work with an Apple phone as well. I also like that you don't have to use the app for the purifier to work. It has buttons on the top to control the cleaning level settings including Germ, General Clean, and Allergen Cleaning, and the Turbo setting which is a powerful setting to clean the air even better. I also like that it has a filter replacement alert so you know when to change the filter. One of my favorite things about the purifier though is that it has a VOC setting which if you push the button, it'll show a color like green, amber, or red. The colors will change the setting to whatever color correspondents. It also has an Auto Shut Off setting which is my favorite setting. I can set the purifier for the hours I need and it turns off when that hour is finished. I like this purifier a lot it cleans our huge living room so well and it was easy to set up. The "A" filters are floppy and I needed to use tape to hold in place. When compared to the "A" filter that came with the original unit this was is way lighter, thinner, and has more holes. The R filter appears to be the exact same quality as the one that came with the unit. But the corners cut and the cheapness of the "A" filter destroys this product. So confused how the other users gave this 5 stars and thought this cheap replacement was acceptable.Jeff

I have a large console type Honeywell air purifier. It takes 3 type R Hepa filters, replaced yearly, and a type A prefilter for every 3 months. It is difficult to find this item in stores in my area, and I found myself needing just 1 Hepa filter on short notice. Target had this item available for delivery in just a few days, and unlike another retailer, they are the true Honeywell filters. My only complaint is that the package only has 2 Hepa filters. It would be so much more convenient to buy enough for my purifier for the year.anonymous

Pre-filter has these specks of black particles coming off when I unrolled it. The quality of this is suboptimal to the original. This pre-filter is see through and not as thick and rigid as the original that came with my HPA300. I’m not interested in cutting this to make it fit my unit. I will be returning this because of the poor quality of the pre-filter. The two filters in the box is fine. I prefer pre-cut filters, if that exists.pmhnp

I ordered the Aprilaire 5000 Air Cleaner and it works great. I noticed a significant difference in the air quality of my home immediately. I was looking for an air filter to reduce dust in my home and to reduce my allergy symptoms. This air filter accomplished both of these goals. It replaces another Aprilaire 5000 that is 12 years old and stopped working about four years ago, the electronics stopped. I got the whole unit so I have some replacement parts. The replaceable filter is great at catching most debris so I didn't feel the need to replace the unit sooner.Robert

I purchased this after buying the larger PlasmaPro 400S, which I am very happy with. The 200S is a much smaller and cheaper model but you do get what you pay for. Functionality: The 200S adds a night light mode, which I do not think I would use as I use this in my toddler's room and would want to limit blue light at night. I also plan on keeping this in sleep mode to minimize noise. Note, the 200S does NOT have an auto mode like the 400S. It also does not show air quality like the 400S. It does use the same VeSync app but the 200S has more limited features Noise: one of the best things about the 400S is that you can barely hear it, even on auto mode if you have good air quality. The 200S is noticeably louder even on low. It is quiet enough on sleep mode so I plan on keeping it on sleep mode (lowest setting). This is supplementing a Dyson HP01 that I already have in the room so I do not need higher fan speeds. Connectivity: setup was easy but I have had to reset the 200S 3 times in 24 hours due to the app reporting it as offline, even though the wifi indicator shows it is connected. I have had zero issues with the larger 400S. Overall, I will be keeping it as the price is not worth the hassle of a return for me but if you are expecting a smaller version of the 400S, the 200S may disappoint.TK33

This is my second Levoit air purifier that I bought just days after getting their H133. I was so amazed by the performance of the larger unit that I decided to get the 200S for my bedroom and it definitely lived up to my very high expectations of Levoit products. Let me highlight some of the strengths and weaknesses of the 200S. Design (9/10): This little thing is the perfect size to set on a nightstand, countertop or bookshelf. Unlike most air purifiers, it is actually nice to look at too and almost looks like more of a piece of modern art than a machine. The top of the device contains the control pad, and also serves as the vent where the clean air comes out of. The control pad also houses the night light, which creates a warm glow when turned on. The bottom of the unit houses the filter and has small holes around the entire machine to allow air to enter the filter. The only thing I wish it had is some small indentions or handles on the side to make it easier to carry. You definitely don't want to drop this thing. Noise (10/10): As you can see, I have this unit right on my nightstand next to my bed. On sleep mode, you don't even know the thing is on. On low, it is barely audible which is what I leave it on during the night. Medium and high are louder though but also that's to be expected. Performance (100/10): The rating is not a typo. Here is where this thing really shines. I use this purifier in conjunction with my H133 and my breathing at night has never been better. The purifier catches all kinds of dust and impurities that are easy to see when you take the filter out for regular cleaning. The air quality in my small, stuffy bedroom is now clean and since the fan is so effective, the air is no longer stuffy as well. Features (9/10): 3 fan speeds, a timer, a night light and smart home integration. This purifier can be controlled from anywhere and has almost all the features you need. The only thing I would recommend for future models is an auto mode similar to what they have on their larger purifiers, where the machine can automatically detect changes in air quality and turn the fan up or down depending. Ease of use/cleaning (10/10): Operating the unit is as simple as turning it on from the app or on the top of the unit itself. The timer feature can be set to 2 hour intervals on the device or any time you want on the app. Cleaning couldn't be easier as you just slip the filter out of the bottom weekly and either wipe or vacuum the dust off the surface of the filter and put it back in. Overall (9.8/10): Overall, this unit performs exactly as you'd expect a Levoit product to perform and that's a lot to say. The only points taken off are for the lack of an "auto mode" and also needing some handles/grip tape to make it easier to pick up and move around. It is well built for easy operation and the aesthetically pleasing design allows you to put it just about anywhere as it is not an eyesore to look at in the slightest. The machine itself works incredibly well in purifying the air to where I can now sleep well through the night and wake up breathing easily instead of having congestion. Couple good performance with an easy to use interface and simple cleaning instructions, and you get one high-quality air purifier that will meet all your needs.cmlin

This review is for the Levoit Core 200s smart true HEPA filter in grey. I have 3 of these filters (currently only using 2 – trying to find the optimum space for the 3rd). I have 5 cats and they SHED, a lot. I have always hated that their fur is constantly floating around my house, getting on my face, in my mouth, and just making my air feel “dirty”. I had been wanting to try air filters to see if it would help with the cat fur circulating nonstop and it definitely has! The air feels so much more clean, my place smells so much more fresh and the candle scents or air fresheners that I use seem to last so much longer. I also have asthma and have noticed some improvement in how the air quality has affected my breathing. I also love that these are “smart” and connect to an app via Bluetooth. I can control how the filter is working, schedule it for certain time frames, etc all from my phone. I personally keep it running 24/7 (it doesn’t release ozone so it’s safe for my kitties! – a huge plus for me and something that was necessary in an air filter). I also like that it has a sleep mode that is more quiet. I personally like the sound of the fan going and enjoy keeping mine on “high” while sleeping. I also like the night light feature! I purchased the Germ Guardian AC5250PT 28” 3-in-1 True HEPA Filter Air Purifier for my home because I noticed mold in my apartment and dust bunnies everywhere when I clean. I could only imagine what I was breathing into my lungs. I was a bit hesitant with this particular product and I'll tell you why. While reading the reviews to decide which air purifier I was going to buy I was a bit leary of the quality of this product. I don't know if they improved this product over time or perhaps the other reviewers were just a bit critical. It's a fan that gives off a white noise type of sound which is quite low actually. In comparison to my ceiling fan it's not as"loud" as some have reported. and my ceiling fan is quiet. When I have my television on I don't even hear the air purifier. I have had this unit turned on since it arrived about a week ago and there's not one thing that I can complain about concerning this air purifier. I love exotic foods and this fan takes care of odors nicely…even the odors associated with my three Yorkies. The directions are easy to follow and I even went through the process of seeing how difficult it would be to take the unit apart to clean and change filters…and I'm a fifty nine year old disabled Marine Corps veteran with arthritis. When I turn the lights out to sleep it does give a slight blue glow from the blue UV light with a red light for the power. If the red light bothers you, just put a small piece of electrical tape over the dot and you're all set. All in all…I simply love this Germ Guardian AC5250PT 28” 3-in-1 True HEPA Filter Air Purifier for Home and Pets…. I sleep easier at night and even use my inhaler less often. The very best product for 400 sq feet or less. Why? Because it has a True HEPA 13 medical Grade filter, a pre-filter (for larger particles like pet dander, hair etc), an ionizer (does not create an "ionized smell") and best of all a UV light that kills bacteria and viruses. It's reliable, replacement filters are about $24 and last 3 to 6 months depending on the quality of air that it filters. Compare it to others, you won't find anything with the True HEPA 13 filer, ionizer and UV. The ionizer causes particles to stick together so that they are more effectively killed by UV. Also, be aware that "HEPA" and "True HEPA" are not the same. "True HEPA" meets rigid standards of effectiveness. True HEPA can trap bacteria, pollen, AND viruses. Be sure to change it around every 3 to 6 months, and I suggest that one wear gloves to avoid touching a dirty filter. I have 3 of these units and I love them.Sanford
