Does exactly what it says it will do. I did have the bottle of Pre-epilation oil leak a little it the box, but only a few drops. Not so much that I was dissatisfied. Didn't really use it anyway. There is a learning curve to this. I received my order today and couldn't wait to try it out. I was tired of the shaving and I like to be really clean down there. It does take longer than any 45 minutes as the instructions say. It was about 1-1/2 hours to get it to the right consistency. You have to realize that you are heating up a lot of wax. Now, remember, this is the first time that I had ever done this. You need to make sure that you have about a 1/8 inch layer for it to work right. Yes, there is a little pain when you pull it off, but it subsides quickly and yes, there was the appearance of what looked like diaper rash. As I write this, it has been almost a half hour since I finished and the rash is gone. I did use the post wax cooling gel and it felt amazing. The hard wax, which does not require strips, is convenient and minimally painful. I would say that epilators and regular wax are more than twice as painful as this system. Must apply oil first or the wax will not come off your skin. Feel free to use other oils when the small GiGi bottle runs out. I've used almond, coconut, and tea tree and they all work the same. The oil acts as a barrier between the wax and you skin which prevents the painful pulling of your skin. Comes off very smoothly and pulls hair only. Very effective in only removing the hair. Can be used just about anywhere on your body. I usually use an epilator for my underarms (very painful) but when I tried this the first time I barely felt it and it removed 99% of the hair the first time! Make sure to try the wax on the back of your OILED hand to make sure it is not too hot before you apply it to a sensitive area. Then apply to the area you are waxing with a stick that is provided. Apply in the direction of hair growth in the shape of a strip. Apply pressure with your hand after removal. The heater is far more convenient than a microwave and far easier than the strips you warm by rubbing your hands together. Just plug in while you shower and it should be ready when you get out. Maybe 20-30 min heat time with the brown heater lid on. After multiple uses when the wax is full of hair just replace lid on can and discard. New cans are about $11 online. Honestly for the price it is a really good wax warmer. And all the accessories that come with it are good. The only thing I can say is you should definitely get a higher quality wax because the wax it comes with it seems very cheap and it didn’t really get my hair up it was just very patchy it wouldn’t come off in a single strip which if you get a higher quality wax it will do. So to start, my microwave sucks! I had it in for 5 minutes and the center just barely started to soften. I bought a hard wax kit that came with the heating tub, I took the insert out of the tub, and popped the plastic container in, and put in the tubs lid. 10 minutes later, (which is how long it takes to melt a bag of wax beans) and it was PERFECT consistency. I turned the heat down to medium, and it kept it at that perfect temp the entire time I was waxing. Now, this was my first Brazilian… I was slow at it so I am glad I didn’t have to reheat a bunch of times. Yes it hurt like hell, but I’ve never even waxed my bikini line before! Only trimmed!! It works…but…I couldn't finish. Surgiwax works WAY better than any Sally Hansen product on the market, but that's only true beneath the navel and close to the thighs. When you reach the labia, it is EXCRUCIATINGLY painful. I would rather use strips in that area because once you get it down there, it's like pulling off a piece of bubble gum! I couldn't continue because it was so painful. I spent 45 minutes trying to get the wax off until I realized you can warm it with friction, add a little oil, and viola!Trying to rip hair off the sensitive labia was HORRIBLE and I will never try this kind of wax that low again. This is by far the BEST waxing kit I have ever used. I struggle from thinning hair so naturally I don’t grow accessibly amounts of hair. After over 10 years in the beauty industry (hair and waxing services), I like to try the new products to the market. I will say – I was super impressed by the professional looking packaging. It was chic, and inviting. The strips are the perfect size for both your eyebrows and lip area. The messy part comes in at waxing time. Your fingers will get sticky, and it’s a bit tough to see exactly where you’re laying the wax, because there’s such a large parameter around the strip that does not have wax. I would suggest trimming the strip right to the wax (that’s what I’d do if I tried them again), so you can see exactly where you wax line will be. You’ll want to press down and smooth it out pretty well, because it does struggle to get the hairs out. (See my before and after.) I'm too much of a wimp to wax so I use a razor but recently started delving into other types of hair removal. The strips come apart easy enough and you can use both sides. You simply smooth the strip over your unwanted hair in the direction it grows in then hold your skin taut and literally rip those hairs out in the opposite direction. You can then use the post wax cloths to remove any residue wax left behind.� Sounds painful right? Wrong, it's actually not as bad as I thought. I know when I've used wax strips in the past I've given up after the first one but these are alot less painful than I remember. I was able to use each strip 4 times and used 6 strips for one leg. I used this product on my chest and torso. I’ve waxed before with similar products but the store ran out of what I normally use so I bought this. First of all, the instructions are very unclear. It tells me to microwave the cup of wax for 30 seconds. Is this with the lid on or off? What about the seal under the lid? I’m supposed to wait for it to cool down. How long is that for? The popsicle sticks make it hard to control where I want to wax too. Other products have a “stylist” for waxing. The wax itself is very bad. I understand that it’s supposed to be sticky but this was unreasonably so. I thought since it being so sticky that it would pull hairs well. It does not. I do have thick and deep hairs, but out of 10 it would only pull 1. Not only that but the wax pulled off the first layer of skin on a few spots on my chest. On top of that the wax is incredibly annoying to clean off the skin, as it does not stay and pull off at once. Because of that I have to scrub hard on irritated or lack of skin to get the wax off. The product comes with a tiny bottle of oil to help clean off the wax. It doesn’t help at all. And if it did it wouldn’t be enough. Initially, I wasn’t inlove with this product. It was sticky and I didn’t know how to handle the mess. It requires time and patience. Firstly, purchase a bottle of jojoba oil. Rub it onto your hands before beginning. Take your time throughout the process. Don’t worry about the mess (because the jojoba oil will remove the stickiness from your bathroom). After a while, you’ll know how to contain the mess by using thin layers and small amounts of the product at a time. This product is perfect for coarse hair. I’ve used it all over including, armpit, bikini area and legs. It will remove all the hair efficiently. Always remember to smooth the wax paper thoroughly and this will avoid any left over residue, but if you do have residual wax, grab a paper towel with jojoba oil and just rub it out – it works. Make certain your body is clean, you’ve exfoliated the day before and you’re working with a surface clear of lotion, oils, deodorant etc. After you’re done, moisturize the area with oil. I did everything right (clean, dry, little baby powder to protect my skin) and every single time it stuck to both the skin and the paper strip equally. The wax looks like when you halve a grilled cheese and it streeetches in the middle, except your hairs are stuck in there too. Even when I tried letting it cool on my skin, it was still gooey like glue, and I ended up BRUISED from all the pulling and tugging. Make sure to try the wax on the back of your OILED hand to make sure it is not too hot before you apply it to a sensitive area. Then apply to the area you are waxing with a stick that is provided. Apply in the direction of hair growth in the shape of a strip. Apply pressure with your hand after removal. The heater is far more convenient than a microwave and far easier than the strips you warm by rubbing your hands together. Just plug in while you shower and it should be ready when you get out. Love these! There was a time where I could not find these anywhere and I freaked bc all the other brands did not work for me! These are the only ones that don’t leave my sensitive skin irritated, and they don’t leave clumps of reside behind. The fabric strips mold to your face so they don’t wrinkle causing the wax to fold and making the pull off painful. One box costs me less than getting my upper lip threaded or waxed. One strip is enough for my upper lip. Considering there is 12 double sided strips in a box, this Can last me 12 lip waxes which saves me almost $60 from a salon. That alone is enough to keep buying this product! The new packaging comes with powder to apply to you waxing area to help the strip adhere only to hair not skin. I would say that is a nice add in! I usually go for baby powder but now that it’s included as a bonus the kit seems even better. I do wish it came with more post wax towelettes, and smaller too. I love these. When using them, if your skin is sensitive, or you’re nervous, put a light coat of powder in the spot you’re going to wax first and test a small spot before going all in. Rub them between your hands until they are warmer and softer, but still take a little pulling to get apart. For my eyebrows, I draw a line to match my brow line and cut the strip so that it fits easier and I can get more hair without being scared it will take the whole brow off. I use the scraps for between the brows. I wish they gave us more of the wipes to get the wax off, but you can use any oil you have on hand on a napkin once you run out. Be sure to smooth them down with pressure in the direction of the hair, then rip them off in the opposite direction— against the grain if you will. These are awesome! Well worth the money! I’ve been waxing for years, and now I have these wax strips. No more mixing some messy wax. Just put the strip between your hands and rub back and forth quickly, building up heat by friction. I do this for about one minute. The wax will be on both sides when you part the strip. The people that harmed their skin may have left the strip on too long; the ones that did not have much hair removed, may have not pressed the strip enough before waxing. I wanna start with the things I liked. I love the mini travel sized products, especially the slow grow. The only one I didn't like was the prepping oil for hard wax, but the pre hon is still great and the wax off smells wonderful while soothing the skin nicely. Now with what I didn't like. I can wholeheartedly classify this as the worst hard wax I think I've ever tried, I've never been a huge fan of GiGi but at least their other waxes can be pretty usable meanwhile this stuff is a hot mess. I'm glad I used this on my legs instead of around my pubic area. My main complaint is that no matter how thick or thin you make your strips, no matter how wide or narrow, it never rips off in one piece and I ended up getting a bunch of the wax stuck to my skin that I needed to go back and clean up. This usually can happen but it was always big pieces. I even used the pre hon and prep oil for hard wax before I started waxing and it didn't seem to help. The sad thing is I've been professionally trained to wax so I know I'm not just applying it wrong. The formula just sucks. I will also add that it smells pretty bad in my opinion, its like if someone wanted to make wet cardboard smell faintly of mint. I've never hated a wax so much, can't recommend.Skittles
This was my first time ever using hard wax so take this review with a grain of salt, because my lack of experience definitely contributed to this. But I would 100% say DO NOT buy this if you are looking for something to use on your legs or other large areas. Only buy this if you want to use it on your face, underarms, bikini line, etc. There is simply not enough wax for your legs, as I found out about half way through one leg. I only ended up being able to (somewhat) wax both of my calves and underarms before I was completely out of wax. Before I started, I watched video after video about prep and application, so I thought I was prepared. But when used on my legs, the wax broke off into pieces every single time. This left me with a LOT of hair still on my legs, and most of the hair that was taken off was just broken and not pulled from the root (you might as well shave). It was very effective on my underarms though which is why I think small areas are best because (A) you will have enough wax, and (B) the temperature will keep for long enough to wax a small area. Its very difficult to get the right temperature and consistency with the wax because you're heating it in a microwave. Another thing is that the Wax Off cream didn't work on me at all. But if you use any sort of oil you should be able to scrape off any excess wax stuck to your skin. So overall, it's ok – but for small areas ONLY.MW

Although immediately upon feeling the strips it came with and the consistency of the wax, I went and bought the traditional wax strips. Upon reading other reviews I noticed a lot of user error. First use the pre cleanse, then powder to dry the cleansed area. Make sure the wax is warmed up to a maple syrup like consistency and run the stick on the outside of the wax not the middle of the pot. Apply a very THIN coat of wax in the direction of the hair growth. Apple the strip and warm up the wax in the direction of the hair growth. Place tension on skin with one hand and rip off strip in opposite direction of hair growth with the other FAST. Repeat process until cleansed area is clear. Then repeat with next section of hair. First of all I am an esthetician in training, I needed a wax warmer for my kit to get licensed and this was on sale with everything included so I went for it. Couple of things: the honee all purpose wax is just awful, it gets everywhere and is extremely difficult to clean up, you need a ton of micellar water, AND for my skin personally it gives me the WORST folliculitis. However, the hard wax is fine and I went to Sally's and got the blue hard wax with azulene, much better. The wax warmer itself even on the lowest setting gets too warm for hard wax so you don't get the perfect pearl you want/need unless you keep turning off and on the wax warmer. The hard wax once it hardens is easy to scrape off, but not the soft wax. It is hard to do large areas with hard wax so I'd suggest getting a sugar wax or just a different brand of soft wax all together. The warmer itself works a little too well, but it's better than microwaving. I'd say it's a good starter warmer, but it's very cheap so maybe not for an actual spa.Tina

I knew I had to run to the reviews to tell you all. If you follow the directions to a T, you'll be set. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is due to the fact that there isn't not enough wax. I did both my lower legs & I used more than half. If you were run out of wax mid way, you'd need to heat up another wax for another 45 minutes. So as long as you got time, you're good to go.
