Its got all the bells and whistles and is quite comfortable with plenty of adjustments to suit anybody. The seat is plush and I love the headrest. ….the pain from your back will get better but then will go to your knees. When you first sit down in the chair on any given day, it feels fantastic and it is made well. But after about 20 minutes, the knees start to get the pain. I have mixed feelings on this chair but ultimately it has it's own issues which prevent me from using it as a better substitute for a chair. I was in a severe motorcycle wreck that split my pelvis & messed my back up. My wife at the time bought this chair for me as a surprise and I'm so glad she did. I would never have spent this much money on myself. Typical office chairs have a plywood seat with some padding stretched over and it quickly breaks down. As of 2021, I've had my HM for about 14 years. I've had two failures in that time. One, the arm rests would not stay locked at the proper height and the other, the cylinder failed. HM wanted me to send the chair in for repair, but allowed me to send the upper frame only (I'm mechanically inclined so disassembly was a piece of cake). Rather than tighten the arm rests, they sent me a brand new entire upper frame. They also replaced the cylinder. Both repairs took several days for shipping time, but there was zero hassle. I sent the defective parts in and they sent me new parts. No issues. The chair literally changed my life. I was in so much pain sitting on typical office chairs and the HM drastically reduced my pain levels, drastically reduced fatigue, and made sitting for 8-14 hours per day much easier. I was expecting a very comfortable chair, which, the Aeron is not. It isn't uncomfortable by any means, it just wasn't what I was expecting, but it really does make a huge difference when sitting for long periods. My only complaint is, I'm rather tall and I would have liked a taller cylinder so my legs would fit correctly. Even though I have the largest size, it's still a bit too small for me, regardless, I would absolutely spend this much money for this chair. The price has increased quite a lot since I purchased mine, but that's likely due to inflation. I've had my chair long enough that the price has been affected by inflation? Think about that. When was the last time you had an office chair last so long that inflation was a factor in the pricing. While it is (at least, for me) a very large expenditure for a chair, it lasts so long that in the long term, it's less expensive than purchasing and replacing lower quality chairs. If you're on the fence about buying one of these chairs, if you *need* it, especially for medical reasons or even if you just sit at a computer for eight hours per day for work, stop waiting. I am 5'8" and 150 lbs – the right size for a medium, but I bought a large 20 years ago because it turned out to be more comfortable if you like to lean back a lot. The large is deep enough and tall enough that I could take doze off in it, but not so deep as to prevent me from sitting all the way back. The seat bottom material is sagging a bit and has a few broken strands now. The arm mechanism that allows pivoting in and out broke years ago – hopefully, the new ones are more robust. The hydraulic lift sinks but slowly enough that it's still usable. It has the original style lumbar support, which tends to pop off because I set it near the top. I decided to get a new one because of the sale. NOTE: they don't ship free to Hawaii, but they do stock and shipping is less than direct from Herman Miller which had a long wait. I got a medium with the standard finish and all other options except leather and standard finish. I think it's better for my posture, but if I were to do it again, I would get the large instead. Whatever the chart says, if you have the ability to try before you buy, I suggest trying one size larger and see how you like it taking your work habits into account. I also probably would not get the fully adjustable arms. If you can try before you buy, I suggest you try the non-adjustable arms if it's for your exclusive use, since you will not likely change it once it's set. The tilt limit with seat angle adjustment works well for me and is one of the features I like. Is it worth the money? Even on sale, it's pretty pricy. You can get all the features and pretty good comfort for less than half the money these days, so it really depends on your budget. It was definitely worth it when I bought the first one. I did not spend time looking for an alternative. I do believe that good seating is important to productivity so if you spend a lot of time in the chair, it's worth spending the time to do the research and trying different chairs then buying the best one you can afford. In my case, I figured they are still making it and all the high end alternatives are in the same price range so it was a safe choice.
For years Id used the excellent Steelcase Leap Chair for my long days in front of a computer and always appreciated its adjustability, but it always basically felt like a regular chair to me. The Aeron doesnt feel like a regular chair. The design feels more ergonomically advanced. Its pronounced contours are much more supportive. My back is in contact with the back of the chair at all times, and, for the first time ever with any chair, its comfortable to sit with feet flat on the floor and to maintain ideal posture without having to think about it. I prefer the mesh construction over the standard cushion you get with many chairs, as there is no sliding around or smoosh. There are a lot of things to like about this chair, in no particular order; 1. Quick assembly 2. Good rollerballs that don't stick even on a ceramic tiled floor. 3. Good back support. I didn't realize it until my son mentioned it, but often I perch on the edge of my seat, mostly because it feels like there isn't enough support at my back to lean backwards and rest. This has a wide and deep seat and it does have back support for all you 'perchers' like me. 4. The mesh back is going to be super nice when summer turns hot and sweaty. Due to the Pandemic, I have been forced to work from home. My computer activity before was simply on the couch or kitchen table/bar stool. I love this chair! It's like a hybrid of sofa plus office chair. It's really comfortable and I really like that it's fully loaded. I can adjust chair angles (lean back or forward or slide chair out, etc). I love that I can change my sitting positions throughout the day so that I am not sitting in the same 90 degree sitting position all the day. I can even sit cross legged if I pull the chair out so that I will have a bigger sitting area. It also comes with a headrest, which is really helpful when I lean back and rest. Love the style, except the stitching is bright orange which I was not expecting. The rest of the chair is such a great look and so comfortable that Im just going to deal with the stitching for now. This chair looks as it does in the pi and and thats where the positive comments stop. The cushion has minimal padding which makes it uncomfortable. I had to purchase a cushion to make it comfortable. There is no lower lumbar support. I had to use a rolled up towel to male it bearable to sit in. I spent the day adjusting the towel. I shouldve returned this chair but I needed something to sit in. Nice concept but it ends there. I am a 53 year old general contractor/mechanic who has a great deal of experience with assembling equipment made of various types of materials. This chair is made of substandard materials. The hardware pack contained allen head bolts of quantities which did not match the directions. There "definitely" was not enough of a particular length of bolt to complete the assembly of the chair. Directions/assembly instructions have definitely been revised without changing the hardware quantities. The gauge of steel tubing is very thin and the welds are certainly suspect. If I had seen this chair in person, before buying it, I would not have bought it.Eric

Its got all the bells and whistles and is quite comfortable with plenty of adjustments to suit anybody. The seat is plush and I love the headrest. It rolls perfectly fine on my Berber rug and I have actually gotten comfortable enough to fall asleep in the chair. Would highly recommend. I got my chair yesterday and absolutely love it. I spend a lot of time at my desk doing work and studying, and previously had a gaming chair before I purchased this one. Gaming chairs are great, don't get me wrong, but after hours on end day after day, you realize how rigid and eventually uncomfortable they are for long periods of time. This chair has a great cushion and all the adjustable features you could want from armrests, head rest, lumbar support, and angle of recline. Highly recommend if you spend long hours in a chair doing work and do not want to get tight and achy from sitting in your chair.
Looking for a fashion , comfortable office chair to replace my old leather office chair since WFH. It's easy to assemble, only took me about 20 mins. It looks thin but I feel very comfortable with it! It helps me sit straight up, provides great lumbar support. And also the neck support is wonderful! It's a huge help for me sitting 6-10 hours in front of computer everyday! I can even take a long nap with it. Because the chair can use as a recliner. That's great! This chair is extremely uncomfortable. When you sit in it the bar under the seat digs into your tail bone. There is no back support whatsoever. Also when we went to assemble the chair all the holes were NOT drilled and we could not put the armrest on the chair properly. I sent in the warranty paper and never heard anything back or get a replacement armrest. Trying to get ahold of someone at Walmart is next to impossible. We bought this chair for my daughter who is attending school via live, synchronous teaching due to the pandemic. Her other chair was older and didn't have a way to support her legs. We specifically chose this chair due to the foot rest that can be put up or back to hide. In addition, with her sitting more 6 out of 7 classes per day, we need great padding and a way to adjust for her to have good posture and comfort. Chair was bought for my wife who is short and a little plump. She didn't like it because her feet didn't reach floor at chairs lowest setting. We traded chairs and I'm taller and very bony. After 1st day, my bony butt was so sore I had to use an extra cushion to sit anywhere. Seat also slopes down too much in front to be comfortable. I have COPD and use oxygen 24/7 so most of my day is in this chair in front of my computer. Chair seems to be made well, but needs lots more padding on top of springs. If you have a body build like us, don't buy it! Other than that, I would have given it 4 1/2 star rating. WITH THIS IN MIND, I will not recommend it.jordy
I feel it is very good quality. I am not sure how the seating cushion will last, most seem to lose their comfort but this seems very good thus far for a good price. Very nice looking chair and seems solid. I put it together by myself but I highly suggest help as you put the seat back on. That part is very difficult, but it should be to hold the chair altogether nice and tightly. This chair is also very attractive. I like the brown, the leather, the metal.
