I've been using this stuff for over 20 years. I first read about it in a major consumer magazine that claimed it worked better than commercial cleaners and was an environmentally friendly product to boot. When I had wtw carpeting I used Host – a big job unless you rent one of those scrubber machines. But it was worth it — did an excellent job. Now I have hardwoods with area carpets. I didn't know what to think of the Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaning upon first seeing it at my local dry cleaner, but I decided to give it a chance. I put a couple of dry clean only garments into the Dryel Bag with a fabric sheet and turned on my dryer. I let the dryer go for a full cycle on warm and after that I removed the bag to see the results. My clothes felt soft and smelled extremely fresh, but there was still a noticeable stain on the lapel of my suit jacket. It had improved greatly from it's original state, but it was still present. I decided to use the spot removing pen that came in the package on the stain. After about 15-20 seconds of going over the stain I put it back in the Dryel Bag and began another drying cycle. When I removed the bag this time I noticed a significant change in the stain. I was practically gone. It was still faintly present, but only under bright light up close. I proceeded to use the spot pen and the fabric sheets on silk fabric shirts and the results weren't so great. My shirts came out feeling and smelling great, but there was still a grease stain that was present. I repeated the drying process once again and it yielded the same results. The Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaning kit does a job of refreshing and cleaning minor stains out of cotton, wool, and acrylic, but not silk.kingoftheink

Dryel is not so much a dry cleaning substitute as it is a fabric refresher for Dry Clean Only clothes. You can use up to four garments for the special dryer bag that comes with the whole kit. Fortunately, after you have bought the full kit you can buy smaller packs refills so long as you hold onto the garment bag and Stain Remover. Dryel, for the most part will sufficiently freshen your clothing and you can use it with pretty much any type of fabric. The main thing is that it is not cleaning your clothes for you so you need to remove any hair and stains from your clothes before you put them in the Dryel bag otherwise you'll end up getting hair or fur on any other clothes in the load. A stand out of the whole Dryel package is the Stain Remover – it is awesome! I have no idea what it's made with but it seems to work on absolutely everything to remove just about any type of stain. I'm not exaggerating. It's gentle, too! I no longer buy Dryel since I got my clothes steamer (now I just spray my dry clean only items with Febreeze and then I steam them, this seems to work just as well but is quicker and cheaper to use in between dry cleanings), but I still use the bottle of Stain Remover. When I bought this, I thought it would save going to the dry cleaners, therefore I would save money. Well, it doesn't exactly work that way. I have found that it does extend the time before I have to take them to the dry cleaners but it doesn't eliminate the need of using a professional dry cleaners. Performance If and that a big if, the clothes are not really soiled or have that left over body odor, I found that I could take out some lightly soiled places however with the amount of time and cost involved, I am not sure that it is really worth the time, effort, or money. Using the stain removal proved impressive. It did get out things that surprised me like ketchup, hot sauce, and a dab of chocolate. I found that could do spot treating but it had to be done prior to putting them in the dryer. Scent For the most part I found that the clothes actually smelled better than when they come from the dry cleaners and have them chemical smell. I have been using this product for years with great results. it is great for blazers and the spot pen really does remove stains. I always use my spray bottle and dampen the items before I put them in the bag. They will come out clean and ready to hang if you get them out immediately when the dryer goes off. 30-40 minutes is all that is necessary but say for example for winter jackets I may keep them in for 50 minutes. This product works but research the best way to use it before applying. There are some helpful blog posts on the Gore web site. Wash your waterproof garment using the wash, but rinse a minimum of 2x. While damp, spray the waterproofer thoroughly and wipe up the excess. A spray bottle lasted me for one application for one men’s XL shell. So be prepared. Then let the garment air dry. THEN stick in the dryer on low heat for 20 minutes. That helps the waterproofer bond to the garment. With the very tiny amount I had left over, I sprayed down the high abrasion locations like near the zippers and pockets, let air dry and stuck back in the dryer on ultra low for 20 minutes. An older goretex hardshell didn't keep the waterproofing very well, but it hadn't been regularly cleaned/re-DWRd so no fault of the product. Newer hardshells performing well after! I use it on any clothes that have stains, not just the dry clean only. The cleaning cloths that come in the box also work wonders. Unfold one Woolite cleaning cloth and place in dryer with one to five garments of similar fabric and color. Tumble dry on medium heat for 20 minutes. (If excess cleaning fluid is visible, tumble dry on medium heat for an additional 20 minutes). Note: Do not use on fur, leather, suede or velvet. 3. Remove garments immediately after dryer cycle has stopped. Enjoy clothes that are clean, fresh and ready to wear.

Woolite At-Home Dry Cleaner saved the day for the work clothes that I wasn't able to take to the dry cleaners before the lockdown. I have to admit, I was a little nervous putting these delicate clothes into our dryer, but they came out without any damage or warping. The clothes seemed pretty clean in the end. I wasn't too impressed with the stain treatment, but it was better than nothing right now when I have no other choice. One downside is that I have to use our apartment building's coin operated laundry and with the combined price of that and these sheets, I feel like I'm still getting a better value from the dry cleaners on the important pieces of clothing. However, I would still use Woolite for maybe the smaller, underclothing that isn't worth taking to the dry cleaners.Midge

I prefer to have a dry cleaning sheet that doesn't add fragrance. This one is fragrance free. I've used it for silk, and for quickly dry cleaning my shirts. I used the bag provided by Dryel for a garment that I didn't trust to be safe tumbling around in the dryer. Shirts came out clean – I pulled them right out of the dryer once the cycle was finished. Sure, it may cost slightly more to wash them in the washing machine (but I'm not sure how much detergent and electricity for the washing machine are worth), but the results are much faster. If time is an issue, these things are a good option. So far, nothing has been harmed by these – I read the box, so I don't wash the things that this sheet can damage. I've seen someone say that certain kinds of stains and soil are better washed in a regular washing machine. So far, I haven't found any. I like these. For a long time there used to be nothing I dreaded more than finding some super cute clothing item, then checking the washing instructions to see it’s “dry clean only.” And if you have a lot of such clothing items in your closet that you wear fairly frequently, then having to go to the dry cleaner so often becomes a real inconvenience and big expense. Thankfully, Woolite At-Home Dry Cleaner exists. These are cheaper and more convenient than competing products on the market, and they really do the job fantastically. I tend to sweat a lot (sorry, TMI, I know) and we all know how much of a nightmare it can be to get sweat marks and odor out of clothing, but these cloths nearly always leave my clothes looking and smelling amazing after just one round in the dryer.
