I mixed this as the directions said in a 15 gallon sprayer on my tractor. I sprayed about half the product which took about 8 weeks to kill everything. I went to us the sprayer today and it didn't work as leaving this product in the sprayer left a layer of slimy jell on the bottom of the sprayer clogging up my pump. I had to pull the whole sprayer apart to clean it out and disassemble the pump to clean it. I wouldn't recommend this stuff to anyone. I'd give it zero stars if it let me. It killed the weeds and some grass. It doesn't permanently kill weeds. They dry up and die but come right back. It does however kill every bird, squirrel, and rabbit that gets food from your yard. We have not seen this issue with other brands. Only this one. I don't feel like it is safe for pets to go in the yard even after this is dry. Seriously dead birds everywhere and we still have weeds. did not have an opportunity to use product until Friday 19, May due to rainy and undesirable weather. Put the product down on that date in an area which is significantly weed infested because it is an enclosed pen used for our dogs which we no longer own. Planned to reseed and return the are to my back yard lawn. Today one week later no trace of weeds exist and the area will be seeded during the upcoming week. I simply must rake away the dead weed remnants and complete the task. Complete disappointment. Bought 3 bags of this weed control. Followed the directions to the letter. I even moistened the weeded area with surfactant to allow the granular product to adhere as noted on the bag. Temperatures were right. No rain, no mowing, no worries. 2 weeks later and the clover, crabgrass and others look better than before. The bag should read weed fertilizer and not weed control. First application using the recommended setting on one of therecommended Scott's broadcast spreaders. Thought the dandilions were starting to die. After several days it became obvious they were thriving. After about two weeks from the first application I reapplied the weed killer. Guaranteed to kill dandilions. I got this on a Friday, planning to do yard work all weekend but…other things happened and I just did not get to it. So Monday morning I thought i can at least give this a start, and sprayed my brick walkway and next to a bush out front that has been trying to recover from winters freeze. When I first received the bottle, it is a little intimidating with half the bottle covered in small print with directions and hazards of use. I did receive a letter with it explaining that labeling laws require the company to say “Danger. Hazardous to Humans and Animals., but it contains no potentially cancer causing chemicals to humans and animals. So with that being said I started spraying away on all the weeds coming up through cracks in my pavement and bricks. The directions do say to use in direct sun, which I do believe is needed to kill the weeds. Within a half an hour the weeds were turning brown and within a couple hours they were dead. The weeds that I sprayed in the shade took a second spray to completely kill them. Very large weeds also took a second spray to completely kill. The vinegar smell is very strong and if your sensitive to strong smells I recommend you wear a mask. You definitely cannot get any overspray on plants you don’t want to kill because it will burn the leafs of whatever it hits. It's impressive and worth trying. I've tried various home remedies in the past to kill weeds and never had much luck at making it worth my while. And of course, weed killers are very poisonous and I do hate using them but until now, I felt stuck, other than using a weed eater. Weed eaters really don't work well on weeds growing out of cracks in pavements such as sidewalks, walkways, driveways. I like the Green Gobbler because it works and it's 20% vinegar! The gallon size includes a spray pump. Complete instructions are on the gallon jug label. Of course, you don't want to spray it on vegetation or near vegetation due to possible runoff. This Ortho Lawn Weed Killer works but it does take time. We are used to seeing instant results but some things need the right amount of time to work. Make sure not to water right away. You want it to penetrate deep to the root to work. I sprayed some weeds and it took a couple of days to see them start to wilt. By day 5 they were dead and brown. This unit comes with an automated wond that gives precise and direct stream to hit the weed with the liquid. The wond itself has a little gray switch to get it to work by holding and squeezing on the handle and off when ready to fold and put away. It also has a side carry to hold it when not in use. All in all it does work. It just takes time. This is not an overnight magic trick and you will not see INSTANT results. Patience is key and if you have to reapply it, it's easy to do.edk42
We removed some trees in the back yard in the spring. Grass seed never really took, but the clover and crabgrass spread like wildfire! I used this product hoping to get rid of most of the weeds before we oversees in the fall. Pros- it worked quickly. I could see the leaves sort of wilted by the evening of the first day. By the morning of the second day the edges were brown. It killed all of the clover, with most of the crabgrass as well Cons- the crabgrass that didn’t die seemed to recover. This product was very easy to initially set up and begin to use. I liked that it had it's own on/off ability on the handle. Our lot is just over 10,000 square feet, so the bottle did not cover all of our yard, this made for a nice comparison to see how well the spray worked. Dandelions had already popped up for the spring when we applied the treatment. I sprayed on a day that was nice, had been dry for several days with little to no breeze, and we did not receive rain for about 24 hours after the spraying, the container says it is rainproof in 1 hour. I did notice some difference in the yard from the area that was sprayed versus the unsprayed portion. If you get a surprise downpour after an application, it still works, if the rain comes after a half hour. I had four hours before the rain tried to ruin my work. The next morning (Tuesday), the Pokeweed was wilted and twisted, and by Friday, it had withered to the ground. The poison Oak was less dramatic. I did notice a little curling, but it was next Monday when I planned to re-apply. I found that wasn't necessary, except a couple of hearty plants were still identifiable, so I hit again. I keep Virginia Creeper (VC)well under control using Groundclear. If you don't zap VC when you find those little 5-leaf chains, It will spread fairly rapidly and climb old-growth trees by reaching all of the way to the top of 60-foot trees building vines as thick as an arm. For the first time in 30 years of home ownership we had a yellow jacket invasion this year. I have effectively destroyed three different ground nests with this spray! I have tried 6 different types of wasp/hornet sprays and found them all to be lacking, from the clear liquid to the other "foaming" products. The Ortho home defense spray is thick foam, like shaving cream almost, which sat on the ground and trapped the YJ's as they tried to reenter or leave. Death from above in my case. I am currently battling an established colony in a ditch bank and need more product! My local distributor has been out for 2 weeks and the YJ's are returning (I plan to dig this out in the winter). I walked outside a couple hours later and everything I had sprayed was dead. They went from a pretty green color to a brown color so fast. Forty years on this property and I've learned that doing the same thing over and again and expecting different results is foolish. I've got grass to look so wonderful and lush under my red oak trees, but then after a season of drought, the lawn gets sparse when the oak roots migrate to the surface and take the moisture. I very much like the product packaging. It is easy to use, and is compact for storage, with everything attached to the container, so nothing is lost. The compact spray wand is a nice touch too. It is also refillable, for me a plus. One minor problem, the adjustable tip would not give me a "spray" pattern, only a "pencil point" pattern. At first, I did not like this when spraying the weeds in the cracks. Later, I was able to hit a picker covered weed that was growing intertwined with a rose. I could kill the weed yet not hurt the rose by being a "good shot". It did take two applications, but to be fair, I may have not used enough in an effort to save the rose, and the weed was rather large. On the package it says that you can see results in a few hours, I did not see that, and did use multiple applications for best results. I have also noticed that there are various formulas of RoundUp, in different colored packages. The "blue" is the formula to use if you want to clear the bed, and be able to plant again this year. I don't think that the differences are stressed enough, because not everyone will read the directions, as they should, which could lead to misuse and possibly "bad mouthing" what is a high quality product. The container should also be shaken before each use for best results.justme
Applied pump n go to landscape beds. Product is very effective in killing weeds. Am 84 years old and have been using Roundup concentrate in my landscape every month for 30 years of my residence in Florida.I mix the concentrate in a 0.5 gal. pump up sprayer that gives me a free hand to use a shield to protect wanted plants.The pump n go 1.33 gal is too heavy. It takes about 1/2 hour to do my landscape with 0.5 gal hand sprayer. Carrying that jug and setting it down wore me out. The product is also different than Roundup concentrate and has a different odor. Not very pleasant. Pump works easy and then hard. Handle lock is not positive and slips out. Poor adjustment on spray nozzel between mist and spray. Can't see what's in the jug.Quit spraying product when still alot in the jug and no tipping,etc. helped.nick

I liked that the product came with a measuring cup that was easy to use. I sometimes struggle with adding the correct amount of chemicals so it came in handy. Instructions were easy to follow and the product slowly killed the weeds and grass in the areas that I sprayed. The product says that it kills the roots and I am hoping the results are lasting and I don't need to apply another round of the solution. I've used other chemicals that claim to last a certain amount of time but didn't. To be fair I live in an area that has weeds that don't completely die, they multiply. 🙂 They come back with a vengeance. The measuring cup is kind of flimsy so is the turn knob that guides you on fill and pour. I recommend using gloves as some of the chemicals spilled out of the measuring cup that is attached to the bottle. The pour option didn't stop the solution from entering into the fill cup. The Spectracide Weed and grass killer is the only one I ever use. This product is ready to use out of the bottle. I also love the fact that it immediately starts working and even if it rains within 30 minutes of using the product it will not wash away. I have had a lot of success with this product. It does a great job killing weeds on sidewalk and in my lawn. This product allows you to see results normally within a day. I would suggest getting the sprayer which is sold separately. I've used other weed and grass killer products that gets rid of unwanted grass and weeds but never yet had I found a product that kills down to the root as advertised. Spectracide® Weed & Grass Killer Concentrate2 does as advertised. I did a spot check in my flower beds to get ready for next spring and wow it did a great job. The unwanted grass and weeds were yellowing after a few hours and brown by the next day! Being that the solution was concentrated and there was an AccuMeasure system with an easy-to-use cap, it took the hassle out of measuring and mixing the concentrate formula; so I was able to get just enough to try it out in a small area. Ortho Weedclear™ Lawn Weed Killer is works on Creeping Charlie in Northeast Ohio. I have been fighting with this type of weed for years. I followed the directions closely and watched the weather to apply the product on the best day. I woke up and immediately checked out my backyard. The Creeping Charlie looked weak. This Ortho Lawn Weed Killer works but it does take time. We are used to seeing instant results but some things need the right amount of time to work. Make sure not to water right away. You want it to penetrate deep to the root to work. I sprayed some weeds and it took a couple of days to see them start to wilt. By day 5 they were dead and brown. This unit comes with an automated wond that gives precise and direct stream to hit the weed with the liquid. The wond itself has a little gray switch to get it to work by holding and squeezing on the handle and off when ready to fold and put away. It also has a side carry to hold it when not in use. All in all it does work. It just takes time. This is not an overnight magic trick and you will not see INSTANT results. Patience is key and if you have to reapply it, it's easy to do.edk42
I got the two bottle box from BJs. I've used this product in the past and have been happy with it. Each year in late Spring/early Summer I apply it to my lawn area to kill off the encroaching weed and give the grass a fighting chance to thrive. This year I read all the directions. I found a window to spray that was not very warm and was 24 hours after a short rainfall, and 24+ hours before several days of rain was to begin. I sprayed 1.5 bottles, keeping a 1/2 bottle in reserve for spot treating areas that I might have missed. The next day all the bigger leaf weeds were wilting, but the clover looked untouched. After 3 days of rain I checked again. Clover looks healthy and thriving. Now it's been 1 week since I sprayed and the clover has never looked healthier. I really don't feel like sinking more money into a product that isn't working, so "treat it all again" isn't a great option, since clover is 80% of what I'm trying to kill off.Brokk

In the past I used Roundup. However, with all the health concerns with Roundup. I was looking for another weed and grass killer. After reading the reviews for Spectacide I thought I would give it a try. I applied the Spectracide with the supplied hand sprayer (a little tedious on the hands) but worked well enough. I didn't expect immediate results because it's only in the '50s for the daytime high and according to the label it works better when the temp is 60 degrees or more. The next day still green but not nearly as bright green as the day before when I sprayed. I decided to hit it one more time and by the following day brownish-yellow. Definitely Working! In addition, a few bright green spots that I missed stood out making it easy for touch up. At nearly a third of the price of Roundup, I will buy this from now on. Personally, I would recommend Spectracide – it's a Great Value and it worked for me. I hope you find this review helpfull.DFE123
This has become an accidental favorite. I had some of this in our garage for years and decided to try it. It worked like a charm. We are in arizona. I always use early on a warm sunny day so it has time to sit in the warm sun which makes it work awesome. I use it on weeds in the yard and the grass that tries to grow under our curbing into the rocks. I have been using this for many years. I love the srayer on this particular container!!!!!!!!
I find Spectracide to be as effective as Roundup. When spraying extremely aggressive weeds at lake house (in Northern Indiana) I use the concentrated formula, as to be able to adjust (increase) strength of formula for more aggressive growth of weeds. I mix 8-9 oz per gal of water, into a 2 gal sprayer and watch the unwanted creepers disappear after a few days! This stuff WORKS and is so much more economical and [supposedly] safer than roundup. This will kill actively growing weeds, it will not prevent future growth, thats what Preen is for!Karen

The delivery in the order was great. But the product did not work as advertised followed you directions oversprayed the weeds and then shot them directly. On line transaction was fine, and the product is fine. The problem was with the delivery. Apparently the gallons (2 single gallon) leaked in the shipping box, so the shipper placed the ruined box and the gallons in a large plastic bag closing it with a large Rubber Band (what a joke). The package was delivered a day after I had a Bladder Procedure, so I could not lift the package. My wife took it to the garage for me to check it later. When I was able to deal with it I notice the gallons on it's side in the ruined box. There was more leakage. I right sided the gallons and discarded the box and the plastic. I do not know how much of the Fluid leaked. AS of today 12/29/21 I have 3 different Walmart phone number directing me to different DEPT. and not one person is willing to help. IGennaro
I use this to keep grass and Creeping Charlie out of my garden and flower beds. Works quickly if sprayed when weeds can bake in sun for a while afterward. Protect other plants from overspray or they will be damaged too. Doesn’t claim to kill roots, so you will need to reapply every few weeks with perennial weeds and grasses if they’re not pulled or smothered with cardboard and mulch.
