If you are tired of carp wire faults detectors or traces for network cabling, get this. I can now reliably work out where the wires are going and what flavour of EIA T568A or B is being used. To hear the tone generated you will need to also get the Fluke tone detector. I also recommend the Fluke one, it is very good and once again, works where everything else fails.8523142 i.

Used on new home to test the builder's subcontractor for 20 drop CAT6/5 drop Coax network install. Meter paid for itself by more than double it's cost because of faults documented in the Fluke qualification testing report software. Sweetest refund ever at closing from the builder. Then with the meter, I was able to diagnose and fix problems (missing wires, shorts, noise, etc.) in 4 hours.E.L.

Packaging and all were great and I Like the carry bag however I've encountered an issue with the remote ID's. Remote ID 2 keeps reporting as Remote ID 7 so I'll be contacting Home Essentials Direct to serif I can get a replacement Remote IDY.

The Cable IQ is an absolutely AMAZING tool! It makes the job of checking an installation a piece of cake. I had been trying to use a meter from another company. It took 30 minutes to attempt to do what this meter does in 5 seconds. It costs a little more , but this meter will live longer than I, and it makes my life so much easier. This product is simply a small laptop with a network card. However, you may think, it comes very handy when you need to find out a local host address or make sure the port you are testing is on the LAN you need. My only complaint about this product is the battery life, which is too short. If you test a lot of ports every day, the battery life won't maybe pass two or three days. Be prepared to stock some alkaline batteries!S.

Long & Short: It works great and is easy to use, but won't be getting any type of upgrade to firmware unless you're paying for it. The device itself works exactly as it needs to, and is simple enough to have some of the ""non-technical, technical"" people use it if needed. But requiring a subscription to be able to upgrade the firmware is absolute garbage. I cannot even understand how they think this is ok, had I of known this before purchasing, I would have not purchased. Hindsight is always 20/20 though…K.R.

As a new IT department at a manufacturing plant, we were having issues finding what switches network cables ran to. The Fluke saves us a lot of time by displaying the switch name and length of the run. A lifesaver and worth every penny.Joe

This handy network cable tester to test LAN and BNC connections. Very easy to use and the LED's tell it all, whether there is a short, crossed wires etc. WARNING: Tester not to be used on live circuit, it could damage the unit. PROS: Great price for what it does. Made of plastic, but sturdy. Gets the job done. CONS: Requires a 9 Volt battery; I would have preferred 2 AA's. Only comes with one small RJ-45 cable. In order to test a connection, both transmitter and remote need to be plugged in to the jacks, so a second small RJ-45 connecter would have been nice.Eagle 1

Getting complete, visual confirmation that my cables would work on the first try was key to getting the job done properly, and this tester gave me that confidence. I didn't screw anything up on purpose to test for negative feedback, but all of the cables it said were good (either both plugged in together or with the "remote" end) really were good. This will stay in my networking tool bag forever.R.

This is alright if you have both ends near each other. This tester does not tell you if a cable is good from the main unit when using the remote. You have to see the main AND the remote. If the remote end is across the warehouse, you have to let the tester dangle and walk to the remote end to see if all eight LEDs light up. I have a $3 tester that tells me the results at the main unit. (PS Don't buy a $3 tester either. Just sayin'…) I thought for $35 this would at least do everything the flimsy $3 tester did. The Eero 6+ AX-3000 is a 3 pack, dual band mesh wifi 6 system that is easy to set up, fast, and provides excellent range capable of handling at least a 3000 square foot house. Set up and control of the system is done entirely through an app downloaded to your Iphone or Android phone. In my case, it was an Iphone. Set up allows you to keep the SSID and password from your previous network which had been a Velop tri band mesh system. I found this tremendously helpful since all of the 25 or so devices that I have immediately recognized the new network without additional configuration. The first of the 3 pack devices is connected to your cable modem, etc. and is configured during the initial setup. The additional 2 devices can be configured during initial set up or any time later through the app. I ended up using only 2 of the 3 pack devices since the 3rd one would have been overkill for my 2200 square foot house unless I wanted to extend the network deep into the backyard or my neighbor’s yard. As I mention, I previously had a two pack, tri band Velop mesh system. This system had served me well for several years, however, I have recently acquired several wifi 6 devices and the Velop system was not wifi 6. I have about 25 devices on my system including 4 HDTVs which I constantly stream. In actual operation, the eero system felt very quick and no buffering occurred. Range was also excellent exceeding my previous Velop system. I have 1 gigabyte per second internet coming into the house. About 20 feet from the router and in the same room as the router, I was able to achieve about 900mbps on my laptop compared to about 750mbps with the previous Velop system. A story below the router and through 3 walls, I achieved around 250mbps compared to 200mbps with the previous system. I you are a heavy user of video or other data intensive devices and want a network that is easy to set up, fast, and with great range, I highly recommend the Eero 6+ AX3000.TheHodster

It might be silly but first impressions are important and the packaging for these was very robust with tight tolerances. Just what I would expect from something in this price range. My coverage area is quite large and extends to a detached barn where my wood working studio is located. Even with very high powered single unit devices I have trouble with coverage. Not with this system I have them spaced across my property such that I get great coverage everywhere that I need. It is sort of like cell phone towers where as you move around the system calculates which node will give you the best reception and will switch you seamlessly if you move or in the unlikely even that one drops offline. This is fast too giving gigabit speeds. This is done by communication between the units on another radio frequency as not to take up network resources. My internet is not that fast but I do a lot of internal file sharing and moving and really appreciate the speed this gives my local network. I checked with customer support and they said up to 3 more units can be added to the system presumably doubling the coverage area. eero 6+ works as a smart home hub so you can control supported Thread and Zigbee devices with Alexa. Use your eero 6+ with Alexa to control lights, locks, plugs, and more. I chatted into best buy and they said this is also compatible with google home. All in all this is one of the few products I would give an extra star to if I could. Installation was easy too.yogabear

80+ old house w lots of metal lathe/plaster so very difficult to get good WIFI 70 feet to living room TV. Had an AC1200 that was fair until Spectrum rearranged things during a service call. Anyway I connected Eero to my to my existing 5AC router and got an Excellent result. LR TV was at 35 now at 147! Maintained old router for 2.4/5 ghz for other uses as wanted Eero dedicated to LR TV. Would probably have bought TP-LINK Deco X60 V1 AX3000 if I had known Eero was trying to "require" a $99/yr subscription for what most router manufacturers for provide free. But I just kept swiping away the acceptance screens without filling in anything, bypassed the authorization pages and did not enter any payment information so hopefully that will be the end of that. Except that it probably voids my warranty as I did phone them for assistance at one point and they refused to help me unless I signed up for the $99 a year plan. I hate that mesh vendors require install via a cell phone. Mine is for emergencies not daily use so I am not real good with it. I am much better with written instructions but did find a great video to watch while I did the phone thing.BrendaD

This is the best purchase ever. The default NBN modem/routers that come from your provider are very bad. But you can use them as modem only (as a bridge) and pait it with this fantastic and superfast Ax10 Wifi router. I have seen my speed go up spectacularly and the connections are way more stable! Also great for wireless connecting Oculus Quest 2 to the PC (Wifi-6)!. Very happy with the purchase.bietekwiet 007

So far the router has been working flawlessly. Easy to setup. Had it up and running within 10mins. Has good wifi range. Covered my 3 bedroom house no problems at all. The one thing a hate is that it has to connect to a top level domain server every 30sec. Its to check to see it your internet is still up and running. A heat beat. The Eero Pro 6e is the perfect mesh system for high end internet speeds of 1+ gigs and anyone looking for a user friendly Wifi setup. This is my first time using an Eero product and I’ve been very impressed. I’ve always used Linksys routers in the past and had a mesh system with them in place before I received the Eero Pro 6e system. The Linksys system was always bit of a pain to setup, the steps seemed easy enough but sometimes it would take multiple attempts for the different nodes to connect to the system. With the Eero I didn’t have any of those problems whatsoever. Setup took less then 15 minutes and was so simple I believe my 70 year old mother could have been able to setup this product and she’s SUPER tech challenged. The Eero’s came packaged in a sleek box and the nodes themselves are small, compact and sleek looking. Each unit has 2 ethernet connections so if you have devices that you want to hard wire in that is possible. Initial speed tests showed me getting over 900mbps throughout my entire home which is a huge upgrade considering my last system was only getting about 500-600 even though we have 1 gigabit AT&T fiber. I was able to even get those speeds sitting outside my home which is very useful if we want to maybe stream to devices outside when we have people over to watch football games. The Eero app is user friendly and has a host of cool features but unfortunately some of them are only accessible through the $99 dollar subscription program they have. With Eero Plus You can create profiles if you want to control what kind of sites or apps your children are able to access. You can see historical data and use DDNS features as well as Ad blocking and VIP support. One free feature that I found very useful is being able to dim or completely turn off the status light on the Nodes themselves. I know it sounds silly but my TV sits across from our bed in our master bedroom and there’s a small white light similar to the Eero status lights that I cover up almost every night so its not beaming at me like a headlight. There are some more advanced features that are free like Port Forwarding and DHCP & NAT. But I admittedly probably won't use those features very much, but I'm glad they're available. Overall I am very happy with the Eero 6e Pro system. It finally allows us to hit gigabit speeds throughout the home while being user friendly and super easy to setup. This triband Wireless 6e router uses the latest in wireless technology to provide a low congestion 6ghz band signal to allow for faster and cleaner connections to your router to assist in offering the fastest speeds on your local network. Eero makes it so that anyone, no matter the tech level, can purchase and connect this mesh system, as long as they can download an app and follow directions. I loved the unboxing experience of this router. With 3 units, everything is packaged very neatly inside the box so you can grab one at a time and go through the setup process with each. The first step is getting the app and setting up an Eero account. Then follow directions for adding a router to your home network. It’ll guide you through the steps of disconnecting your old router and connecting your new one to your modem. Once complete, you can then use the app to set up additional units providing a wide range of wifi coverage across your home or property. My modem fairly centered to the living room but I wanted to expand wifi out to my front yard and garage. When adding the additional access points, I didn’t have any connection problems and was able to get good signal putting one in my bedroom (using only wireless internet connections and a power cable) and another in my garage. I didn’t want to fall back on my wireless connection while looking up how-to videos in my garage, so this was ideal. This is what I call an “app managed” router. This seems to be a more popular approach, but it simplifies the setup and management process for those who are not quite as savvy with adjusting technical settings of their home network. This is a plus and a minus in my book. On one hand, it makes things much easier for the majority of people, on the other hand, it also restricts you from fine tuning your network to your liking or wireless environment. With that being said, it’s very easy to see what is connected to your router as well as the ability to group different items to make parental controls and monitoring a walk in the park. I made a completely new network with the setup of this router so I could add each item one by one and group them based on function or type. For example, smart home devices, PCs, and personal devices (phones, tablets, watches) all got grouped in their respective categories. Although I do not have kids, I could see where this would be useful if you wanted to create groups for individual children for game consoles or phones to limit screen time. As for customization, it doesn’t leave you completely in the dark. You can still do, what I now consider a standard features, port forwarding and DHCP reservations. You can also adjust your DNS server, turn on or off your UPnP, as well as a feature called client steering which makes sure you’re on the router with the strongest signal and therefore likely the fastest connection. There’s also “Thread”, which is a low power wireless standard that devices can connect to. The device also has Zigbee built in so if you’re Smart home is built on this standard, you can use the eero as a hub. Performance seems right in line with what I expect with a clean 6ghz wireless signal. My PC which is one of my few 6e devices, negotiates at 2.1 gbps at the highest, but averages around 1.2 to 1.4 gbps. This is, on paper, FASTER than a wired connection. The reality is, depending on if your device is WiFi 6e capable and distance to your router, you may or may not see those speeds. BUT I will say, using fast.com to test my speeds, under the best conditions, I was hitting my advertised speeds (1 Gig Fiber) from my ISP which is very impressive considering I’ve only seen these speeds under wired connection (940 download and 800 upload on Eero wireless router). As for local network file transfers, well I have a windows PC as a server, and lets say SMB isn’t the fastest file transfer protocol, but I transferred a file across the network at 74 MB/s average. This was from a NVMe drive to a HDD, which is a common setup for network file backup. Another added bonus is if you want to wire your devices to the access points, each one comes with 2 ethernet ports. If you have a device that’s ethernet only or want to spread out wired devices so it doesn’t crowd the desk, this makes that convenient. The biggest downfall of this router is the subscription based parental controls and monitoring. Instead of building these into the product like other routers, eero has opted to get a few more bucks out of you by charging $99.99/year for these features. You don’t have to make the purchase, and the router works fine without them, but there are routers available that include this in their purchase price without a subscription. Another thing I would have liked to have seen would have been a QoS feature where I can prioritize traffic on the network by device. This is great for streaming or gaming devices where it’s network traffic is important to be prioritized to sustain the quality of picture and latency. It’s hTravisJ

Was excited about a Wi-Fi 6e router at a great price, but with that price comes some very large limitations. Was coming from a Velop Wi-Fi 5 setup prior. Here are the limitations: – No browser interface to manage router, must use app – WPA3 support is beta, is really WPA2/WPA3 not WPA3 Personal – No ability for advanced network management, can’t configure a MAC address filter, which bands are in use, channels, anything – No ability to manually configure device prioritization Here are the privacy concerns: – By default, your email address and name are used and uploaded to Facebook to be used for targeted advertising not only by Eero, but any advertisers that uses audience targeting. You have to email them with a specific subject line to opt-out – By default, you are enrolled in a trial of their Secure service, which further uses your personal data – Your device unique IDs are collected and used for targeting products and services to you. This unique ID allows advertisers to create profiles and link activity across 3rd parties – Eero collects the unique IDs and MAC addresses of all devices that connect to your network With an extremely limited ability to manage advanced settings, no ability manage the device from a browser, you can only use the app, no ability to see detailed logging of traffic on your network or what the router actually is doing, limited support for WPA3…you would be better off spending more money and getting a Wi-Fi 6e router that does not obscure it’s management functions and logging and provides finer-grained control over configuration. This is not really a “Pro” device. If you are a novice and want an inexpensive 6e router and are not concerned about your personal data, then this is not a bad option. If you want more control over your network security and desire more transparency, try a device like Linksys Atlas AXE8400. That is what I am replacing this with.Jason

The Nest Wifi Pro is a quick and easy way to upgrade home network and give it boost with Wi-Fi 6E. Not only does it look good great, but it’s super easy to setup as all it requires is power (which is included), and an ethernet cable to connect your Nest Wi-Fi Pro to your home network modem, router, and/or switch. I love how simple and easy it was to add to my home network as it required no additional configuration, the Nest Wifi Pro was literally plug and play. Once everything’s plugged in, install Google Home App on your phone (if you don’t already have the app), and follow the instructions. What I love most about this setup is that the Nest Wi-Fi Pro really does it all on its own. This is perfect for people whom want a fast and reliable home Wi-Fi network without knowing the technical details of how it all works. Each mesh router covers 2200 sq ft, so a single unit maybe sufficient for most homes, however it’s just as easy to add another one or two into your mesh setup. Nest Wi-Fi Pro’s biggest selling point of course would be the addition of Wi-Fi 6E which really helps if you have a plethora of Wi-Fi enabled devices in your home. It works well to improve speed and alleviate congestion as you would now have three bands of connectivity. While I was anticipating excellent/improved speeds, it does not seem to be as advertised as my home network seemed to be bottled around 70-90 mb/s when compared to my current mesh home network setup which normally runs around 200-300 mb/s during the peak hours and upwards of 500-600 mb/s during off hours (for reference, I have FIOS gig internet service but well over 40 Wi-Fi enabled devices in our home). This was pretty disappointing as a swap of hardware would not lead me to expect such a dramatic drop in speed/performance. The interesting thing was that when I ran speed tests through the Google Home app, it seems to show speeds of 600 mb/s, but it doesn’t measure up with real world scenarios. I’m incline to think there maybe some firmware bugs and/or circumstances that maybe causing a cap on the network speed. Still trying to troubleshoot the setup to improve speeds. A quick Google of Nest Wifi Pro issue does seem to indicate that I’m not alone with lackluster speeds. Overall, the Nest Wifi Pro has a good value proposition, however it seems that I may not be experiencing the best that the hardware has to offer at this point. If it does end up working as advertised, then it’s an excellent option if you’re looking to improve your overall home network. However, if already have a reliable mesh network and don’t have many Wi-Fi enabled devices, chances are, you don’t need to upgrade simply for Wi-Fi6E at this point. If you are looking for a quick and simple mesh setup that will give you Wi-Fi6, then the Nest Wifi Pro maybe it as it priced very competitivity in the market where Wi-Fi6 is still not readily available.Felix

I recently got the Nest Wi-Fi Pro. Up front, the Nest Wi-Fi Pro is NOT a modem/router combo. You will need an Internet Service Provider (ISP) supported modem (or modem/router combo, set in Bridged mode) in which to plug the Nest Wi-Fi Pro to get internet service. OOB: you get the modern-looking Nest Wi-Fi Pro (with a very small 5” tall x 3” wide footprint – in Snow, Fog, Linen, or Lemongrass), a 22 watt power adapter, a white, slim ethernet cable (no bright, obnoxious yellow or blue cable), and setup instructions. On the reverse, you have an Ethernet in (from your modem), a power jack, and an Ethernet out (to another device, e.g., a laptop or another Nest Wi-Fi Pro that will serve as a wired extender). Although you can also connect other Nest Wi-Fi pros wirelessly to create a mesh network. There are no physical buttons on the Nest. The only light is a status light that can be set, in the Google Home app, to high, low, or off. Specs: The Nest Wi-Fi Pro provides Wi-Fi 6E, using the 802.11ax Wi-Fi standard (AXE5400, tri-band (2×2 (6 GHz), 2×2 (5 GHz), 2×2 (2.4 GHz)) mesh system that allows combined wireless speeds of up 5.4 Gbps, with automatic band steering. Open the Google Home app, which will find the Nest, and follow directions. The app walks you through everything and does all the work for you. A few notes. Tap “Wi-Fi.” You’ll see connectivity status (internet, Wi-Fi devices, and, if cloud services are enabled, devices connected to the Nest), an option to run a network speed test (I was able to consistently get my standard wireless speeds through the Nest, from different points both inside and outside my house on my cell phone), as well as the following cards: Devices List, Family Wi-Fi, and Guest Network. In the app’s Settings you’ll see the following options… change network name and password, Family Wi-Fi, Guest Network, Preferred Activities (i.e., video conferencing and/or gaming), notification settings (new device, new device (guest network), password mismatches, and lost connections), advanced network settings ((do not change these settings unless you know what you’re doing – WPA3, 160Ghz for 5Ghz channels, UPnP, enable/disable IPv6, DNS, WAN, LAN, DHCP IP reservations, Port Management (requires cloud services), and Network mode (allowing you to set the Nest Pro itself into NAT or Bridged mode). From Settings you can also view open-source licenses, restart the network (i.e., the Nest Pro) or factory reset the network (i.e., again, the Nest Pro). With cloud services enabled, you’re able to see the devices connected the Nest Pro… including signal strength, how much data they’re using (upload and download… by real-time, per day, week, and month) and have the ability to pause / prioritize device-specific internet connections (the latter of which ensures that at least 80% of your internet bandwidth is dedicated to that device… e.DetailzGuy

Using the Google Home app is convenient enough, they work well when working properly but frequent drops after a couple weeks I can’t seem to figure out why and my old system doesn’t do it. I had a 3 mesh setup of Samsung Connect Home Pros before and the wifi speeds were terrible but the connection was solid and barely ever completely stopped working like these have been doing. Getting them to connect properly, even after looking up videos still took over an hour. Not to tout my own knowledge but I’ve worked in the tech industry for over a decade so I’m pretty versed in setting up networking equipment, and while the steps are simple…just getting them to actually find and complete setup was just annoying. Had to continually reboot and kept them right next to each other still had trouble connecting the mesh initially, it’d find it in the app but unable to setup for seemingly no reason…it finally just worked after numerous reboots. Overall the speeds are good but for the latest and greatest I was expecting the max speeds I can get. If I connect the LAN I have 600Mbps and with the Samsung’s I typically got 150-200Mbps wireless. With these I typically get 400-500Mbps. I’ve tried everything to figure out why the drop from the main router and have no idea. If I don’t have the mesh setup at all I get the full 600Mbps speeds but much shorter range of course. I am fine with those speeds, it’s the every other day disconnections that have become frustrating. Rebooting fixes it but no clue why the main unit cuts out from the connection to the modem. It’s definitely not the modem based on replugging in the Samsung’s for a few days and no issues. The range is good on them, the speeds are fine but certainly not impressive (I did try a doupble priced 2-pack Orbi and they had around 500Mbps speeds off the mesh but no issues disconnecting). I’m tempted to return these but I wanted to like them for the value. I don’t know if it’s defective or if the mesh is really that poor on the distance (each is about 20-25ft from each other) causing the random disconnects, not quite full speeds, and the bad taste from the initial experience I’m not real impressed.Matthew

My kids and wife are using Chromebooks for their online classes, and unfortunately they only connect to 2.4ghz. Tech Support confirmed that there is no way to get this system to select that band, it automatically switches and combines the bands. If you log directly in to the routers WiFi it even lists only the 5ghz band. That's bad enough as my kids need to consistently stay connected for their classes every day, but on top of that some smart bulbs, security cams, smart ceiling fans, smart switches, security, and Ring doorbell also disconnect intermittently. Many of them are still using 2.4ghz, but even the 5ghz devices will sometimes disconnect. I read it could be "collisions", or too many devices, so I changed a bunch of settings per recommendations, such as selecting the channels, broadcast times, port forwarding the LIFX bulbs and BOND Hub that kept disconnecting, adjusting the Preamble, nothing seemed to completing fix the problem, however. I have to restart daily, or else everyone is screaming at me that they are losing connection. Not worth the stress, it's going back to Costco. I love Nightgear products but support is non-existent, and even with online searches it's clear there just isn't a way to get this to work with smart devices and Chromebooks.NicAlice

Gaming!!!! I solely bought this for gaming. Among Netflix and work. I live in a 2,700 qr ft 2 story house. We had spectrums new 6g but it didn’t cover the other half of our home. A technician from spectrum told me to go out and buy this! He recommends this to all his customers. Wow! I pay 300mbps I get 489mbps for the router satellite #1 474 satellite #2 479mbps. We can game on ps5 Xbox s pc watch movies YouTube no problems. We have connection in the whole house for the first time! This product is awesome! Please go out and buy it it’s so worth it and it’s always on sale. I have the two band system but they do have three band. If u can afford it do it if not this is all u need it’s just better but not necessary. The one downfall is that you only get one Ethernet port per satellite and two ports for the router. I can’t plug my consoles or anything because they’re used for the main Ethernet to supply a wired connection for upstairs. I recommend you buy a Ethernet switch box that has several Ethernet connections so u can hard wire your stuff if u want a better connection. They’re $40 but worth it. In the mean time you’ll be fine without it because this router is that good. If net gear updates a new model and it needs a minimum three Ethernet ports on router and satellites the. I’ll give it a 5 out of 5 but since they cheap out on that this gets 4 out of 5 even though it’s performance and set up are very good.SantaKlaus

Very impressed with the Nighthawk AX1800 mesh wifi system! We had an old Netgear Nighthawk router (roughly 3 years ago) that was having difficulty keeping up with our needs, so we had slow speeds and devices disconnecting during heavy use. We have several smartphones, tablets, or laptops connected to the network at any given time so this was getting to be particularly frustrating especially during working hours. Between streaming content for fun and working from home, we needed something that would be more consistent and this did all that and more. It filled up the dead zones in our home so wifi works flawlessly throughout now. My wifi speeds on my phone more than doubled, and at one point I did a speed test and had 300mbps on wifi on my phone! Amazing! Setup was a breeze with the Nighthawk app, by far the easiest network configuration tool I've ever had to use. The only thing that was annoying is the BitDefender free trial they bundle with it, as it spies on what you do online and it was not particularly helpful with its scans or notifications so it felt a bit gimmicky. Bear in mind that you will need a network switch if you have devices linked up to your old router via ethernet cable, these satellite boxes only have 1 ethernet port on the back of each of them. The initial setup wasn't quite as easy as I'd expect, but I got through it and it works great. Provides great WiFi coverage across two floors with the same SSID. Plus, it allows me to connect a few nearby devices via Ethernet to both the router and the satellite unit, decreasing the amount of wireless activity in the household, while still allowing my mobile devices to connect over WiFi reliably with high performance. The speeds I get throughout the house are incredible.Steven

If you're an IT pro, then setup is probably a no-brainer. I'm not, and I'm still not sure I have it set up correctly. It seems you need to use both the web interface to the router and the app to set up different parts. But it appears from the web interface that the router and satellite are both connected to various devices and I'm definitely getting better coverage that with my previous AC1900 router. And it's great to have 3 independent networks available, one dedicated for IOT devices.Scott

Setup was reasonably straightforward. Interface was ok and configuration was easy enough (I set it up in AP mode so I could bridge my two home networks). Reception is good on the satellite unit which is in an upstairs bedroom where i have my laptops and a photo printer – this setup needed the extra bandwidth to print reliably over wifi. This did the trick although the signal is not as strong as I had hoped – good, not excellent according to the router. The web page for the router kept on being sent to a Netgear web page over the internet rather than connecting to the router. I tried clearing the browser cache (as suggested) but that didn't work. Shutting down the browser and restarting it worked for some reason (as did starting a different browser and going to the web page – interface connectivity seems a bit flakey and confused. But it is all working great and I have regained communication with the router device web page, so all is well. Many devices that are attached via wifi to the service provider wifi network (for which this is acting as an AP) show up as wired (e.g. phones, Apple TVs, TVs, etc.)? I haven't tried playing with many of the available options yet – letting it settle-in in working condition first. It repots much higher throughput on its Speedtest than does the one I run on my mac – same network. ???Don

I bought this to replace a Linksys EA6900, an 802.11ac dual band router with limited range on the 5G band. We needed more range on the 5G. TP-Links AX11000 certainly had better range and I thought we had a winner. Setup was quick, logical, and allowed for great detail. My network has 2 desktops connected by ethernet; one desktop and three laptops connected by wifi; and two printers (Epson WF-4830 and HP OfficeJet 8600). Installation of the TP-Links AX11000 went perfectly until we tried to use the printers. When a wifi client moved from 5G band to a 2.4G band, it lost connection to the printer. I called TP-Links tech support three times. Twice they sent me on wild goose chases. The third time they told me to call the printer tech support. I went back to MicroCenter and purchased an Ubiquity AmpliFi Alien router. Installation went perfectly. Neither the Ubiquity nor the Linksis router had the printer problem. I returned the TP-Links to MicroCenter and they were very good about the return. I like working with MicroCenter. TP-Links… not so much. I cannot recommend this product because the TP-Links support failed to help me solve the problem and in one case refused even to try.dsimerly

Can't say I'm that impressed. I've had an Asus DSL N55U modem router for over six years now. No problems. But I thought it was probably time to upgrade before it decided to fail on me. I'm not a gamer but I thought by going to a top of the range product like this TP-Link-Archer-AX11000-MU-MIMO-Gigabit-Wi-Fi-Router I'd get slightly better coverage throughout my relatively small house, and that the wifi connectivity between devices within my LAN would give me faster file transfers. But no. It's almost exactly the same as previously. The only positive I can offer is that it was extremely easy to set up. I've recently moved to Starlink and setting that up with the Asus was quite a mission, but this TP-link just did it with no problems.SimonR892

Part of the problem network engineers have is running down lines from point a to b. The tonals this device has makes quick work of tracing cat6 near power lines. Punches through the buzz, tells you distance if there's nothing at the other end, and lets you know what it sees if there is. Also tests pairs and poe feed to boot. Have not used the RG6 connector for testing cable lines yet. Display is easy to read.W.

I bought one of these for work to trace out cat-5 cables. It likes to pick up radio stations. No seriously, when you press the button on the probe it will pick up radio stations. I need it to pick up the cable signal not local football channels. Again, you'll be able to hear the broadcasters and everything. Very odd… Never had that happen before with any network device.Bizarro

Lovely flow, wicks well, melts and solidifies very quickly. See, for years I used a big stock of silver-tin lead-free rosin-core solder I'd got at some point at Radio Shack on sale, and it was really good too; then I ran out and bought some other silver-tin from Bernzomatic a few months ago, and it was just terrible. Hard to wick, flowed poorly, carbonised my soldering iron tip (I had to buy a sal ammoniac block, something I'd _never_ needed before), you get the idea. Switching to this solder was like going back to the old stuff, only even better. Would definitely recommend to others.S.

In the past I've used those cheap RG crimpers (like the Philips SWV2097W27) and they do a horrible job crimping RG connectors on to cable. No matter how hard I crimped, I could always pull the connector off of the cable. This "Cables to Go" 38026 Coax Crimper works better than I expected. First it covers the full length of the crimp area on the connector and does an excellent job crimping (with little force). I have yet to pull an RG connector off of the cable when crimped with this crimper.N.

I bought this for work to test lines when needed. We really only need to test maybe a few times a year. For the price it is a great tool to have for the few times we need it. Although it is plastic and seems a bit cheaply made. I wouldn't buy this if you install ethernet lines for a living.muggs7719
