Bought the House Kit (Mini, Wave, Hub). Used the Wave for basement radon and Mini for other places in the house such as bedrooms. Sensors give frequently reporting and can be broken down really well on the app or on a web dashboard. Only complaint is the the Wave's humidity sensor needs calibrating since it's about 7/8% higher than other sensors (3 other non-Airthings sensors) – and it doesn't seem to have manual calibration for RH (https://help.airthings.com/en/articles/3726328-wave-plus-calibration-period). Dashboard is a fantastic feature and there is a data export feature. Would also be helpful to have some sort of visual export feature such as the dashboard presents, but I imagine you could build your own visualization with the exported data.SBoyd
I have been highly impressed with this kit from Airthings. My main concern is radon in my house and especially my basement where my 2 of my kids sleep. This easily monitors that, humidity and VOC. The set up is surprisingly very easy. I downloaded the app and put my monitors at breathing level, not near any vents or windows. Then they start checking for containments. This set comes with two monitors and sends all the information right to your phone via the app. The readings are super simple and the monitors display a color for the level of “air health” Overall, I feel this product is made very well and setup and readings are super simply and very streamlined right to your phone. The biggest pro is the peace of mind it gives me especially with radon in my basement. I've recently acquired an AirThings Wave Plus monitor for my home. This sophisticated device monitors indoor air quality with 6 sensors: Carbon Dioxide, humidity, temperature, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and pressure. I like to think I have good quality air in my home (built in 2008), but according to the device, it is quite poor! My house is a standard Minnesota 2 story home built in 2008. I have a radon mitigation system with a continuously running fan drawing air from under the home slab and expelling it out the roof. I also have an Air Exchanger running on the return side of my gas furnace. Currently set to exchange 60% of of inside air (transferring heat from the exiting inside air to the incoming fresh air) and then it passes through the furnace for additional heating/cooling and distributes it throughout my house. So, I was quite surprised to see my elevated radon reading as well as high CO2 levels. Granted that I'm only 7 days into using the device and it needs time – even over a month to calibrate – I'm still a bit concerned to see these readings. Temperature, pressure and humidity reading seem about right – so I can't say that the device in malfunctioning. To that end, I have access to a digital radon meter that I plan to use to compare readings. Currently, I have the device placed horizontal in my office since that is where I spend most of the day. in a few weeks, I'll move it to a bedroom and compare results there too. After that is the basement. Overall – this was an easy setup, app download and place the device – so anyone can do it. If you're concerned about your air quality in your home – this is a convenient way to capture some data and take action if needed. See attached pictures of the app and my somewhat scary readings. I live in an area where it is common to have Radon emissions in homes, so I decided to get an air quality sensor that would keep me updated on Radon and other levels in my home. I already have a Radon mitigation system installed, but I wanted to see if it was doing enough to get rid of the odorless, colorless gas. The Airthings Wave Plus Indoor Air Quality Monitor measures several air quality factors, including Radon, CO2 (carbon dioxide), humidity, temperature, VOC's (airborne chemicals) and air pressure. When you receive the Wave Plus, you just have to unpack it, then pull the small plastic tab in the side of it to have the battery make contact and power the device. Then you can either mount the device on a wall (mounting screw included) or place it on a shelf or table where you want to monitor the air quality. Download the Wave Plus app and connect via Bluetooth to access the device's levels, plus it tells you how much battery power is left. The device gives you 48 hour levels, plus a week-long level, so you need to have it in place for a week before you get any real solid information about your home. To do a quick check of your air quality, you can just wave your hand in front of the Wave Plus and a colored ring will appear. Green for good, yellow for average and red for bad. This can be misleading, however. After the device had been in my home for a week, it listed my air quality as bad, mainly because of low humidity. I live in an area with very low humidity, so that's not going to change (except when it's raining or snowing). I could install a humidifier, but I prefer not to run one. Therefore I have to rely on the app data, not the "quick check." The Wave Plus is a good, basic indicator of the air quality in your home. After a week of testing, you can move it to different rooms, to see if the air quality is different from room-to-room. On the Airthings app and website, they give you information on what the various levels should be, what is unsafe and ways to mitigate them. Having an air quality monitor has given me more peace of mind than I thought it might. Just having this sitting quietly, inconspicuously, monitoring the air quality, especially since I just moved into a new place, is really nice. Setup couldn't have been easier either. Install the app, pull the tab from the battery compartment to power it up, pair it with your phone, and you're all done. You can leave it flat on a table somewhere, or mount it on a wall. With the Radon sensor, I thought putting this in the basement might be a good idea, but the website says you should put this in your main living space, or where you're spending most of your time, because you want to be monitoring the air you are breathing regularly, which makes sense. So I put in in my living room, and let it start monitoring. The VOC and Carbon Dioxide (not Monoxide, please do not use this in place of a carbon monoxide detector) sensors take a week to calibrate, the temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure sensors are pretty much ready to go out of the box. The Radon sensor they say takes a week minimum, but for most accurate results, needs a month for calibration. But, you don't need to keep track of these things, because you'll get some emails about the sensors, with links to more details about what they mean (particularly Radon) and then an email after your 1 week of calibration is done. Of course, you'll also get an email if one of the values is outside the recommended range (for me, it's mostly been CO2 too high). This doesn't have wifi (it's only powered by 2 AA batteries after all), but the app on your phone will still upload the data to Airthings website so you can always check and monitor from your computer as well (and see historical data). The radon capsule expired before we purchased the product! The expiration date is attached to the radon capsule which is enclosed inside the box. There is no expiration date on the outside. I called the company and left several messages with no response. I finally got through to an operator and insisted on talking to someone in the "Radon Department." I was advised that they would not be able to perform the test once it has expired and suggested I return it to Home Depot. Why is Home Depot even doing business with a company like this?Andie
When I got the results they were extremely high and there was no guidance given to interpret them. I wondered if it was reported in the correct unit of measurement because if there was an error there it would have explained the wildly abnormal result. If the report was accurate, it was so bad I should leave the house right away. I contacted the company and their answer showed the person had no idea about the basic science behind what they were talking about (I ran it by a family member with a PhD in the area). We continued to question the results and finally someone acknowledged they used the wrong report template. We asked for a new report so the scientist would have to recheck the results. They said no, there was no error in repotting! Back to where we started. Luckily I went on the govt radon site and found a real professional in the area who tested the house and agreed the pro lab report was wrong.Beth1234

This product was very easy to set up, it took less than 5 minutes to get connected. The device calibrated within a week. The product measures radon, humidity and the temperature in that room and will send you notifications if the levels are too low or high. It’s the size of a smoke detector and you can easily place it anywhere. With our first kid and a renovation underway we decided to pick one of these up as we were updating our house with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. We tried this out in multiple rooms for a week to try and the best place to put it. Good news, levels were all great for us. Higher in the basement which they generally should be. Next my wife's parents had recently done a standard test where they sent it off to a lab. The results came back high but they were told that levels can go up and down and the time it took to send the test off could have affected it. Logically we have it to them to try out. They tried it out in multiple rooms and all came back high except one room. Tested it for about 2 weeks and then he had it fixed. The team that fixed it did a test afterwards that was right in line with the Airthings and showed that the levels have come down to a safe level. Tried it out in a neighbors house. They had good levels but humidity was high. Found out there was not a return installed on their AC unit in the basement. If you have high radon levels it should be easy to get fixed in any populated city that has contractors.

This product was very easy to set up, it took less than 5 minutes to get connected. The device calibrated within a week. The product measures radon, humidity and the temperature in that room and will send you notifications if the levels are too low or high. It’s the size of a smoke detector and you can easily place it anywhere. We installed ours in the basement and had low levels of radon but found out our humidity was high so we have worked to manage that. With our first kid and a renovation underway we decided to pick one of these up as we were updating our house with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. We tried this out in multiple rooms for a week to try and the best place to put it. Good news, levels were all great for us. Higher in the basement which they generally should be. Next my wife's parents had recently done a standard test where they sent it off to a lab. The results came back high but they were told that levels can go up and down and the time it took to send the test off could have affected it. Logically we have it to them to try out. They tried it out in multiple rooms and all came back high except one room. Tested it for about 2 weeks and then he had it fixed. The team that fixed it did a test afterwards that was right in line with the Airthings and showed that the levels have come down to a safe level. Tried it out in a neighbors house. They had good levels but humidity was high. Found out there was not a return installed on their AC unit in the basement. If you have high radon levels it should be easy to get fixed in any populated city that has contractors.

We had moved to Seattle and bought a house with a full-finished basement that's perfect for home movie theater which we now use daily. I've taken multiple readings throughout the house from last summer to this spring and found values between <2.0 on the first floor. but, we surprisingly found a few weeks ago that radon level was between 4.0 and 6.9 in the basement. This small device is awesome! Nothing to do for radon readings except plugging in the device. I like that pretty cute design and compact size looking good on my desk. There are just two buttons on the back to provide multiple modes like day, week, month, long term(probably all data right after booting) and other settings. I could figure out how to use those two buttons by myself after playing with it a couple of times. And it seems to be giving a sort of real-time measurements because I saw the radon readings drop after circulating the air. So I can check the current radon level.
