Both sinks in my kids bathroom were clogged. 1 had orbeez in the drain and there was standing water in it & the other had kinetic sand in the drain so it drained slow. I poured one side of the solution directly in the drain & I poured the other side of the solution in the standing water. I let both sit for about 30hrs then poured hot boiling water down both drains 2x & they were both clear & water poured down the drain as a normal sink would. This is amazing & I would definitely recommend. This may be one of the higher drain solutions but it's way better than calling a plumberMrs E

I use a drain cleaner 2-3 a year, usually the red bottle, "D". This brand sounded like a good alternative. It was so easy to use, especially because you just empty one of the chambers into the drain and let it do it's thing. I did not use boiling water to rinse. I turned my faucet to the hottest possible and let the water run for a few minutes. The water drained quickly. My drain was not clogged, nor was a dealing with standing water. I do have thick beautiful hair and use too many scrubs & products. So for me, it's about maintaining a clear drain and this product works.MamaBear88

The Green Gobbler Drain Clog Dissolver is an awesome addition to the home care/maintenance. It has no smell, so it is pleasant to use. Also, the design of having to equal containers in one dissolver package is great because it gives you flexibility for the many uses (sink, tub, toilet, etc.). This stuff worked great to diminish my bathtub backup. I only had to use it twice for one backup, and stored it for next time. My house is 100 years old with pipes well over 20 years old. We periodically were using Drano and Liquid Plumber to open up our drains when they got backed up. Followed with hot water, they worked every time. We decided to give Liquid Fire a try. Read all the instructions on the label carefully and used it in our bathtub and bathroom sink drains. It made zero difference in our bathroom sink drain and we ended up with standing water in the tub! Had to pay over $100 to get a plumber out to open the bathtub drain. Weeks later (after giving their product another try) we had to buy another product to open up the slow drain in the bathroom sink. Also, the label doesn't tell you the product is going to corrode and ruin the metal finish you have around your drain opening permanently. I called the company because my experience has always been, that companies will make things right if you have an issue with their product. Not this one. It took them four days to respond after I called and emailed them. They immediately tried to blame me for not following the instructions on the label – which my husband absolutely did. We're in a "new" house built in the 1950s as of six mnths ago w/hard water (and we use a water softener). A shower backed up and my spouse wanted a heavy duty cleaner. I had a slow moving shower drain for over a year that had gotten slower over time and was to the point that it was barely even moving anymore. I tried to a plunger and a shop vac 1st which did absolutely no good so I went on to a drill powered auger. The auger helped a little bit but it was still draining very slowly and had standing water in the tub. After reading the reviews I decided to try this product. After all, it had a money back guarantee so why not? I 1st poured half of the bottle in and left it for about 2 hours and it did no good so that night, I poured in the other half and left it overnight as the instructions said to do. I tried everything for a crazy clog we had… My wife ran cabbage down our garbage disposal, which caused a clog to form around 10-15 feet past the P Trap. It shot cabbage and water up and out of the other drain and up the air gap to our dishwasher… The water filled up our sink and the water level stayed that way until I drained it by removing the P Trap. I used a clog buster, which is an expanding rubber balloon that plunges the pipes, and all it did was loosen my pipes and cause leaks, which I had to tighten. I used a 25 ft auger/snake, which was very difficult to get past the elbows. I had to attach the snake to my power drill, which was ridiculous to use, because it flopped everywhere. The snake got a few chunks but it wasn't doing nearly enough before it kinked too many times. This stuff… I had to use spare pipes to bypass my garbage disposal and my air gap to my dishwasher, so it couldn't bubble up and back flow, which would destroy them. Do not use this in your garbage disposal, if you don't want to replace it… Also, drain the water out of your sink by opening your P Trap, BEFORE you use this. The water will dilute the acid, and the acid will EAT your metal sink. I'm not kidding, there's a video out there showing the damage it did. The sulfuric acid must only contact with PVC pipes, nothing metal. Let me give you an idea of how strong this stuff is… As soon as I started pouring this down my drain, I heard a loud POP! It was the metal grate in my drain splitting, which is now mangled. It gave off a steam as I poured it, like acid does in the movies. The PVC piping held up well, as it should, since many protective gloves are made of PVC. I don't care about the drain grate, because this clog is COMPLETELY GONE. When I flushed it with water, there was absolutely no resistance or back up whatsoever. This product saved us a plumber charge, which might not have permanently solved the problem anyways. It also ended our 3 day battle with that horrible clog. To sum it up, this product is the Nuclear Option. It's a last resort option that is dangerous and can cause extensive collateral damage if not used properly. It is also almost guaranteed to completely annihilate whatever you use it on, including metal and skin. In my case, it destroyed an awful clog that nothing else could, and I'm glad I bought it. Great product works very well but after I poor 1/3 of the bottle in my drain it got some fume or something that made my tub look horrible . I try scrubbing and reading online with all kind of delimer or scrubbing with CLR Calcium ,Lime and rust remover. I am giving this item a 3-star review but I have not used it yet. I just want others that may need to know to be aware… the description of the item states that it can be used with a garbage disposal. What it does not mention is that you will need a separate accessory kit in order to do so. Big hassle, especially when it takes an hour to drive to the store and back. I liked that this product does pack quite a punch. You do need to be prepared to seal up the overflow so plan ahead or have a partner seal it with a damp washcloth or something. My sink had been clogged for a whole year, and before maintenance could never unclog it properly. Due to the pandemic, it made things worse. I finally decided to take a chance on this product. At first it didn't work and I was covered in sink matter, but that was my fault. Good thing my son was watching to tell me it came out the hole on the inside side of the sink. I almost gave up and then my youngest son helped me read the instructions again, and we needed to cover that hole. Has multiple uses. Removes rust and buildup from old cast iron pans. Add a lb of lye to 5 gallons of water let pan sit 5-7 days. Pan comes out clean and ready to be seasoned. Also works well for soap making. No small debris in the air when pouring.anonymous

It does nothing. Didn't unclog or dissolve anything. I have standing water in the sink if I use it, so I waited a whole day for it go down, and then tried this according to instructions, where it says to wait till the water is clear and then pour the crystals in, and then run cold water. I dunno how people with standing water would use it, if it asks for the sink to be dry? Classic techncail grade sodium hydroxide about the consistency of granulated sugar. It does a nice job of removing aluminum waste from steel. Note that adding lye to water creates heat, so slowly add it to the water and never the reverse! Also, dissolving aluminum releases hydrogen so leave your har or bottle cap loose so it can vent. OK so I just poured this down my drain and so far it’s working wonderfully. It definitely thumbs up like crazy and on the bottle it said you might see a little bit. So definitely be prepared to see more fun than expected. I really like the fact that it’s dual action cleaning material. So you have two different types of liquid that makes us together to clean out your dream. You’re only supposed to use it in the sink in the bathroom or in the toilet. It doesn’t have any type of smell that I can sense so far. It does seem to be pretty dangerous if it gets close to children. It says if you come in contact with it to immediately rinse off as fast as possible. So I would say just be careful with this product but I’m definitely happy with it!rae.l

I got this because the Max Gel, while it works GREAT, does not deodorize. However, this Dual Force variety does not deodorize at all. Not happy with that. Also, I thought, because it was a foam, it might clean the inside of the pipes better than the Max Gel. It didn't seem to clean the residue/build-up that I can see in the first few inches down my sink pipe at all. It does foam, and it does help with clogs and drainage, but it doesn't do what I was looking for it to do (clean and deodorize). Do not recommend and will not buy again.addisonsvox

Just my opinion, I did try this product just like the directions say to do. However, it caused more problems for me and did nothing for what it claimed it was supposed to accomplish. I must admit I was disappointed but happily, I did not spend a lot of money so really I also was not expecting much. These did not desolve. i put one down my drain as recommended on the package. My bathroom sink started having a bad blockage so i took the pipe off below my sink and every one i had put in there(seven or so) was half desolved, thick with water, and squished together. I'm glad they at least got stuck in that pipe and didn't make it farther down so i could clear the problem myself without involving a plumber.Meagan

This is my first review I have ever written. Which is surprising with how much I buy on line, but nothing has really wowed me like this product. About six months ago the house my family and I moved in to had some serious plumbing problems. The worst was in the shower. No matter what I did, snakes, cleaned, plunged, the rotten disgusting smell would not go away. I mean it was awful. The worst. I was able to make it livable, but I'm a mom and no mom is okay with things like this. I was a little sceptical that this little stick would make the smell go away. But it did! Right away. The box says to put one in the drain but I put two. I ran the water for a few seconds and let it sit for about twenty minutes. I then turned the water on and for the first time the water was running very fast down the drain and the clog was completely gone! This is my preferred drain opener, and I'm glad to finally be able to get it in Texas. It's not available at the big hardware stores here, probably because it IS sulfuric acid and they don't want the liability. Now one thing I will say is this. This product smells like REALLY rotten eggs, once it hits the clog. That's because the acid is literally eating anything organic in the drain, such as hair. For bathtub drains, the majority of clogs are caused by hair buildup. This stuff burns out the clog but doesn't have your pipes. Since I now know where to get it, I buy it six bottles at a time. Do NOT open a bottle until you're ready to use it. I poured half down my bathtub drain and the other half down my kitchen drain. Also, make sure you cover the drain with a bowl to avoid splashback, as this WILL burn you. Wait 15-20 minutes and SLOWLY flush it with COLD water for 15 minutes. DONE!Larry

Okay, check out the attached image. It's a capture of the ratings left by other users of this product.The vast majority gave it Five Stars, a few gave it Four Stars. NOBODY gave it Two or Three, yet fourteen gave it only One star? Statistically, that makes little sense. Basically, the reviews were either glowing (which mine will be, in a minute), or more acidic than the product. The most likely explanation for mostly rave reviews with the next greatest number of reviews trashing the product is that those who trashed it either didn't use it properly or they have an interest in seeing you buy ANOTHER product. Judging from the wording of the negative reviews, I'd venture a guess there's a little bit of both. As for MY experience, it worked on a kitchen drain where several other products did very little good. This drain would occasionally clog completely and applications of some other chemicals have gotten the water flowing again, but never really the way it should. At times, it's flowed satisfactorily, if a bit slowly… just enough for me to feel I could let it go for awhile. I've used Liquid Plumr, Drano, and others — and different formulations (slow drain fixers, Clog Destroyers, etc.) with varying degrees of success. This past week, I was getting more worried than I have been in several years. I had poured over 3 gallons of different products, interspersed with some vigorous plunging. The water sped up a bit at times, then slowed to a trickle with only a few more rounds of washing dishes. I was bracing myself for what seemed to be the inevitable rodding. (Getting a snake through the entire path of this 15+ foot drain path is problematic, so I was leaving that as a last resort.) Alas, in the back of the cabinet below the kitchen sink, I found a forgotten bottle of Liquid Lightning that I had bought on a trip to WalMart some weeks ago, intending to try it out when the, ahem, "opportunity" presented itself. I wish I had found — or remembered — it sooner. Due to the length and shape (p-trap, two horizontal runs) of pipe where I knew the problem was, I was not convinced that using half of the bottle (per the instructions) would get the acid where it needed to be. I slowly poured the entire 32-ounce bottle into the drain. I then waited 20 minutes (not 15) while it worked. Thinking about how quickly flushing loosened gunk in the long pipe could result in a clog further along that long pipe, I only ran cold water down the drain for about 5 to 10 seconds. Then I waited another 20 minutes. Still worried about clogs half-dissolved in that long pipe, I ran the cold water just another 5 to 10 seconds — and waited 20 minutes more. Finally, I ran the cold water full blast for about a minute, then filled both of my sinks (it's a double sink setup) and pulled both drain plugs at once. WHOOSH!!! The water is flowing more freely than it ever has in the 20 years that we've owned this house. Now I'm going to try to use some enzymatic products to keep the nasties from building up in the pipes, but I'm also going to pick up some more Liquid Lightning so that I have a sure-fire fix, should the enzymes (or my memory) prove ineffective.Bob60506

Works well if you have enough of it. Doesn't dissolve some of the bones or teeth. Actually I used a partial bottle to clear my vehicle heater core. Add a couple cups, flush with water. repeat. Wear gloves and don't spill. worked better than CLR.TheNose

A plumber recommended this to me as the drain in my basement shower has a unique design that prevents it from having a snake run though it. It works! Just follow the directions ( there are u tube videos on how to use ) and it works in minutes! Anything organic (hair etc) just dissolves and is flushed away. I will always have some on hand.burgewp

I've tried several other chemicals and snakes and this by far is the easiest way to unclog a drain. You need to start with a dry sink or tub for this to work since you need to pour on really hot water to activate. If your sink or tub already has water in it, this product will not help unless you remove/vacuum all the water out first. Highly recommend!Shawn

Thrift is lye in pebble form. Thrift was almost solely and still is primarily available in plumbing supply shops. There is a reason for that. This stuff works! Water must be flowing so handle it before it is 100% clogged. Be sure to heat the pipes and it's better to use boiled water to pour in after you put it in the drain. The hotter the water the better it works, but hot tap water will work also. It will not eat the pipes like sulfuric acid. You can get lye mixed with aluminum powder at any hardware store, but I prefer this. There are some videos on Youtube.Zorg

I've used this in the past to clear out drains in an auto shop. It always worked so when I had a problem at home and chemicals wouldn't work I have this a shot. My wife has a bad habit of shoving things down the sink garbage disposal. Last straw this time was a bunch of potatoe peelings. Drano was no help and neither was a snake. Took the pipe apart past the trap and shoved this in. It swells up and does it's work. You'll hear a vibrating sound while it's working, and when it gets quiet jobs done. Read a lot of reviews about this tool and especially how the pulsating feature would clear away blockages and get the drain opened. My experience was that it made a lot of noise pulsating in the drain pipe and stack vents but the results were not impressive. I ran the tool in the washer drain for 30 minutes and on each in line vent stack for 15 minutes and at the end of that time I still had the slow drain situation. I am sure it "blasted" away some of the blockage but could not close the deal and finish the job. Have to resort to a snake at this point in timemisnomerga

I have used this before and it worked well. My basement sink started knocking loudly every time I turned on the water. Googled it and said it could be clogged and to try something, product. Followed instructions step by step. Used boiling water and let it set overnight using both containers. My house now smells like a chemical plant. I had to siphon the green gobbler out of sink into a bucket and use a shop vac to remove drain line. Used a clogg blaster that you hook to garden hose. instantly unclogged the drain. take my advice and buy a drain king for garden hose. it will save you headache literally from chemical smells and extra work.isaac

I won't fuss with baking soda and vinegar anymore after using one treatment of Green Gobbler in my once hopelessly clogged tub drain.
